We are Ned Salters, a rookie manager in the XWF, the Extreme Warfare Federation, the wrestling league for super-powered humans, shown live worldwide in pay-per-view.
We started with Brass Brawler, a washed-up, former champion, helping him beat his drug addiction and come back to the ring as a powerhouse.
Then, we recruited Samuel "Green Python" Rodriguez, an old, long time friend of Brass, and have helped him untap his frightening potential.
Finally, we are also the manager of Ami "Red Jane" Morrigan, an absolute, but promising rookie that has yet to do her ring debut for reasons beyond her control.

Previous threads here

We left right before Samuel "Green Python" Rodriguez fought against Damara "Wavelength" Smith in a Gold division fight.

As promised, the updated sheets of our fighters

Python: http://www.mediafire.com/?622w2vhe1c6br89
Brass: http://www.mediafire.com/?23vpxd3vg95bf8c
Ami: http://www.mediafire.com/?cglazyofdzvk4c1
Also, decided to allow Ami and Ned to win exp even tho they are not fighting. Of course, slowly (3/week, as long as they keep working and doing noticeable progress)
>>
While waiting for people to show up.

I realized that enhancements and mega attribute points were considerable cheaper for 2nd generation novas (like paladin, ami and mai) compared to 1st generation novas (like brass and python) so i raised ami´s mega appearance to 3 and got Friendly face as her free appearance enhancement, which gives her +3 dice on any social check with strangers, so as someone who goes up into a stage/ring and entertains people, it seemed like a good idea.

The alternatives were
*Timeless Beauty, which meant she was attractive too all races and cultures regardless of their local preferencers.
* Seductive Looks, which gave her +3 successes on any roll to seduce a target... which doesn´t really feels like her
* Mimmicry, which allows to change the mood of people seeing her in a degree per turn. For example, a neutral room full of people into friendly in one turn, then happy in one turn more, stuff like that
* Dazzling looks. It lets her Daze someone by rolling -only- her mega appearance against the target or target´s mega stamina -only-. Basically by causing them to gasp in awe, or similar. Since her mega appearance is only 3, and many fighters have mega stamina 4, 5 or even more, it didin´t so good right now. Tho it would work automatically against all normal humans, of course, since they dont have mega stamina at all, so could be useful from a purely fluff/entertainer point of view. Wrote it on a sticky note for the future, if we ever raise her mega appearance more.

So, Ami gets an extra 3/week on top of the baseline 5? Nice.

And Torah for Ned's xp! Please note we took the point for Merchandise out of his pool

>So, Ami gets an extra 3/week on top of the baseline 5? Nice.
No, Ami doesn´t gets the baseline 5. The exp she has is the exp i got "left over" from when I calculated at which point everyone was going to be, exp-wise, when the 13 weeks passed and the final fight came about.

So she´s not getting exp right now, unless you make her work for it in ways other than training. Used most of her leftover exp to raise her mega appearance, and gave her 1 dot of mega intelligence for engineering genius, so we can have her do interviews with mechanical magazines (cars, bikes, whatever) and work for her exp (and resources background) that way

And yeah, I´ve seen a lot of suspicious typos lately. I cant tell if it´s autocorrect or what
>>
Anyway, what do you think? I went with friendly face as Ami´s free appearance enhancement because it sounded so nice, the fluff wasnt bad, and seemed good for an entertainer.

Anyone would have liked one of the others, better?

Either way...

Commentator: "And the Krew has finished repairing the ring. After Paladin and the Brass Reaper were done with it, most of it was cracked and there were more than a few cracks in its reinforced concrete surface, but now it looks brand new. Good job guys!"

The lights go down a little, and soon enough sparks and lightning flies (harmlessly) around as Wavelength makes her entrance. Levitating herself, she descends slowly into the ring, and waits for Python

Commentator: "And Wavelength is here! the magnetic, electric deva has had a great season. What she lacks in muscle power, she more up for in G´s and volts!"

In contrast, the entire arena lights up brightly as Samuel Green Python Rodriguez makes his way towards the area. From a source unknown, music starts blasting at high volume. Some complete marks of the man will say it´s his own personal charisma forcing the music into existence, but cooler heads will doubtlessly look around for the hidden speakers yet.

He raises his fists, all four of them, and waves at the crowd, "shaking hands" with his fans on his way to the ring.

With an athletic jump, he rises to the middle of the arena, and greets the crowd again

I'm not sure about the engineering thing... Ami doesn't need any extra gimmicks beyond "Pure Fighter". Her schtick is that she doesn't need a persona to get over, she lets her technique do the talking.

And one more thing - Does she have to start in Silver, or can she debut in the Gold division?

>>21295137
>>
>>21295031
I'm around too - been keeping up a bit.
>>
>>21295148
>>21295148
>And one more thing - Does she have to start in Silver, or can she debut in the Gold division?
To be completely honest, she -should- start in Omega, because the fighters are assigned around based on their quantum signature.

Which is why Bomber Lord spoke with management and got her assigned as lowly arm candy in the Gold division to an average fighter, and got White Mamba to keep an eye on her.

As for the engineering thing. I was thinking in having -sort of- a father-daughter moment with her and Brass while he´s working in one of his old cars. Something about how in the first days of automobiles people was expected to be able to fix their own car problems, and how people has grown too lazy nowadays and the honest and good experience of elbow grease on a hot day and getting your own vehicle to work thanks to your own skill and know-how as the reason she starts learning about cars.

Anyway...

Commentator: "Wavelength is going to have to give an explanation to the Krew about why she broke their brand new, freshly repaired stage once this is over! She´s ripped off the titanium corner posts and flattened into disks, using them to attack and block, denying the Green Python of the chance to get up close!"

I don't think Python should be grabbing somebody who's able to electrocute herself. Either basic attacks or Hyperspeed Punch to start - what do you think, Eric?
>>
One round of hyperspeed punches as an opener.

In theory, could we spend 6 Quantum in one round for three lots of RapidPunchan?
>>
>>21295230
Give me 3 minutes, checking
>>
>>21295230
>>21295232
that's a good question - is there a limit to the amount of Quantum points we can spend in one round?
>>
>>21295230
Alright, you can spend up to 6 quantum points per turn (unless you have the Node background, which raises both how much quantum/turn you can use, and how fast it recharges) however you want.

Spending more quantum on hyperspeed is useless, tho, because it simple replaces eachother, it doesnt accumulates. You can spend a willpower point and a variable amount of quantum, however, to max out a power by rolling an extra dice per point of extra quantum you are paying, or by enlarging the power´s range, area of effect, or duration.
However, if you botch (no successes, and at least a 1 on the roll) the power, you get a point of temporal taint
>>
>>21295282
So you COULD spend 6 quantum, and instead of rolling 6 extra dice, roll 11.
1 quantum used to pay for the power
5 quantum to add +5 dice to the power
The power already adds +6 dice to the damage of his punches
>>
So, are we opening with a minigun-like barrage of punches? maxing it out with 5 extra quantum?

>>
>>21294871
heh, Amy might want those seductive looks to use on Brass. Oh, and I was wondering, have you come up with rules for the the quantum firewall yet?
>>
>>21295365

No point maxing it out just yet... It's only our first roll.

1 Quantum for Rapid Punches should be enough to kick things off
>>
>>21295381
>rules for the the quantum firewall yet?
No, but I found a lot of powers that protect your quantum from being messed with. Cheap powers, too, since they are against something so specific and rare as messing around with other people´s quantum. There´s even a power that lets you turn people into novas with as much quantum as you have, which the fans (seriously, the aberrant fans) think is how Divis Malis created the 1st gen of novas to begin with. He just used it on a global scale, so his god-like quantum was spread all over the planet and only affected a couple dozen thousand people

Anyway, rolling 4 attacks?
>>
>>21295413

4 attacks is good.

I think he meant Quantum Fireball (as in, Python's "Kamehamehadouken" attack.

But in terms of protection from being messed with, we might want that for Brass before he goes after Bomber...

It would eat a physical action to take off your gloves. You could use time acceleration to make more actions, so you use one action to use time accel, one action to take the gloves off, and one to attack. Want to do that, or spend your turn taking the gloves off, or attack with the magnetic penalty on you?

Either that or we go "Bitch, please" and burn quantum as above while eating her penalties. She's supposed to be relatively frail, right? Would we run out of quantum or she of health first?

No no, I was asking about flinging OURSELVES up to her like a human pinball or goddamn Spiderman - I'd have thought she'd be able to stop metal objects. But punching her while she's on the ground is obvious; this is a potential countermeasure if she starts flying again.

Another post in a few minutes - I wanted to clarify this first.

Full on alternate forms are expensive, though aren't they?
>>

That's one option, what about whatever power Brass's first opponent used, could we use some variation of that and make him actually stronger?

With our remaining two actions, we grab the ring posts out of the air and hand them to the nearest Krew member

Ah, there is a enhancement called Lycanthropy that makes you into a beastman, but honestly, Python has such a great base Quantum we should use Boost if we use that kind of "extra power for a while" thing. Boost would raise an attribute (Actually Python could pick 2 because he has Quantum 6) to a maximum of attribute 5 / mega attribute 5 for a while.
******

Commentator: "We are now displaying what happened in the screens above the ring... Python runs towards Wavelength. He dodges under, and over, the high speed missiles as if they were standing still, reaches Wavelength, and takes the time to go behind her, tap her shoulder, then move before her again and pounds her into lalaland before she has time to look ahead again!"

Python is standing in the middle of the ring, just slightly battered after enduring Wavelength´s tricks

Commentator: "Here comes our beautiful head doctor, followed by the XWF´s own medical staff... the fight is over! 1 minute 20 seconds into the second round, the Green Python wins!"

Mai: "Couldn´t Paladin have done that? he can fly and attack from afar with his blasts, right?"
Ami: "Nah, Eldric wanted to fight the Brass Reaper in a clear, good fight"
Mai: "Oh? you know him so well now"
Ami: "We are both reaper fans!"
Mai: "And he´s cute, isin´t he?"
Ami: "That doesn´t matters!" -annoyed, she hides her blushing by popping the collar on her leather jacket as she sulks in her seat

Mai: "Should I invite him for dinner? I need to have a talk with him if he´s going to go out with my little sister"
Ami: "You are barely ten minutes older than I am!"
Mai: "Technicalities. I guess I could set you a playdate with the boy. Mister Salter, do you think you could get Paladin to come home for dinner tonight?"
>>
>>21296040
What about Brass? I know his quantum isn't as great. Plus we could fluff it as turning into an Angel of Death instead of some random monster
>>
>>21296067

"He's not blind, so yeah, definitely!"

He already won his fight with Equitas. I assume he´s sitting with them, mildly amused by the girls but eating a hot dog or something like that while he was watching the fight.

Ami / Mai / Ned / Brass for sitting order from left to right
********************
Ami: "I don´t want a playdate, and I hadn´t thought about him that way, either! let´s go congratulate mister Rodriguez, instead"
********************************

So, you guys want Brass to take Holo (is just 3 3xp) so he can create an illusion around himself, and Python to take Boost to, well, boost his strength?

Boost rolls Quantum (6) + levels of Boost, and each success raises your (choosen at the moment of taking Boost) attribute by 1, up to 5, and then starts raising mega attribute with any leftover successes.

Since Python has Quantum 6, he can pick any of the following power upgrades for free
Extra: Boost affects two attributes
Extended Effect: The extra points last a whole scene/fight instead of degrading 1 per turn
Another: You can boost someone else as well as yourself

It costs 6 exp to buy the first level of it, then 5 exp per level of boots to raise it

Bleargh. Multitasking is taking more out of me than I thought. In case I don't make any more posts before the thread ends, see you all next thread.

Anyway, now we fast forward 6 week to the beginning of the location matches for the title belt fights?

What do you want our fighters to do meanwhile? I imagine a mix of training and fighting, giving interviews, finding stuff about their powers, and getting Mai´s report on bomber lord.

Or do you want to continue as we have, and go 1 week/1 fight for another (real time) week? Anyway, today I have to go early (in 20 minutes actually) so what do you wanna do before then? any ideas?

I thought Brass was focusing on Absorb for now?

As far as Boost goes, I think Extra Attribute is best: Dex and Strength, for more speed and more damage. If we're doing 3 actions per round, Extended Effect is redundant because we get two goes with our boosted stats.

>>21296259

I'd like to play out some more fights (more xp! must have more xp! Ned wants xp so he can evolve!) but I can see the argument for Fast Forwarding. Suggest we decide on Monday morning, at the start of the next thread.

>Extended Effect is redundant because we get two goes with our boosted stats.
This is an excellent point.
However, Boost caps at normal attribute 5 and mega attribute 6, and Python has dex 5/ mega dex 6 already so it would be useless. We could go with stamina for extra soak and hp, perception to see through trickery better, or maybe a social skill for when he´s off the ring and doing interviews or commercials.

And yes you totally right, Brass is focusing in absorb atm

I think it´s may fault. I may have arbitrarily just assigned too far away a date for the title fights, which is now proving a mistake. Anyway, we could fast forward 6 weeks, get the 30 exp from those weeks for the fighters, and the 18 exp for Ned and Ami if we have them work during that time. Anyway. I have go go as well, now. See you on Mondays, guys, and remember to vote for the thread! archiving it now.

As usual, if you wanna reach me, my yahoo messenger is maglad_triunfant@yahoo dot com, and my msn is maglad_at@yahoo dot com. Just say you are /tg/! See you mondays!
