After Daiynafyar was beaten to death by the town guard, and Kender hacked apart by Kobolds, the mighty Stephen Colbert broke down the gates and lead the party to defeat the kobolds. Then the dwarf EchoWinds and hobbit Gruber used the key found by Fig'Tard, and entered the Castle Mistamere. They fought a bat, and split the loot: an onyx gem and silver spoons. Now, who will enter the original dungeon from the red box?

Cha-Ching! Gruber's armour class is now 0.

The two of you make the trip to the castle and walk inside. You're in the entrance room, and can go north, east, west, or back out.

Stephen "persuades" the armourer to let him have the platemail on credit. He now has an armour class of 2, a debt of 6 gp, and oily hands

>DM: You should not be reading this to the players. As the party approaches a numbered area on the map, find that number in this Encounter Key and use the information given. There is no #21 on the map. Look carefully at the map, find the party’s location, and turn to that number.

Fuck, I mean this 30 foot by 20 foot hallway has doorways in the east and west walls. Looking through them you can see the remains of once fine carpets on the floor, now ruined by mould and decay. Ahead is another door, suprisingly well made and sturdy after the years. You have a feeling that the DM will cheat to prevent anyone from breaking down the door or picking the lock until a second level character is present.

Actually, you want to roll high.

You walk into a bedroom. While most of the finery has been destroyed by the kobolds and the ravages of time, the four poster bed looks really comfortable. And you both realise you're really sleepy. You feel compelled to lie down and just take a little nap.

Gruber, you wake up alone in room 26. Rubyleaf stands over you. "I couldn't carry Stephen. Come on, help me get him into this bed"

You roll a d6 to search and on a 1 you find a secret door if one is there. Except elves find it on a 1 or 2, and dwarves do as well if it's made of stone.
Thieves use a d% to seach for traps, but dwarves use a d6 to search for stone related traps.

Oh, and 10 extra gp.

If you pawn the stuff you won't need, you'll get 64 gp, and be left with a flask of oil, 2 torches, thieves' tools, and some wolfsbane. Torches are 1xp, oil is 2xp, tools are 25xp and wolfsbane is 10xp.

The bracelet is described only as "forgotten", so by definition nobody knows anything about it. However, even ignoring its gold content it's clearly an antique, and you can easily sell it for 500gp.

You head back to town with Colbert's body. The farmer watches you go and remarks to one of his workers "That's the second one this week. You won't get me up in that thar castle for nowt."
You sell off Colbert's goods easily, but the armourer only offers you 50 gold for the platemail, keeping 4 additional gold for all the dents and blood in it.
>>
>>21371050
Is there bartering?

"You can easily get those dents out! I've seen some of the stuff you have in here and I'm almost certain it came in here looking like this before you fixed it. You won't give us 53 for it?"
>>
>>21371050
The armorer is a jerk, but if we get 50 gold AND his debt of 20 is paid off, that's only a 10 gold loss.
>>
>>21371050
if i were to cast sleep on him could I take all his gold?

Yes, there is.
And now I think of it, Rubyleaf could just take the platemail in lieu of her share of treasure. You'd get a lot more XP and gold that way

We went in the castle. Steve got zombied and I got seriously wounded. Found a sweet bracelet. Got back to town so we didn't die
>>

Me and Colbert entered a room and failed a trap, we were put to sleep and rescued by Ruby. We were joined by Fig and ten fought 4 zombies, Colbert was slain and began to rot so we severed his head.

That's the shopkeeper.
The armourer is just a jerk who tries to overcharge the fighter from the practice solo adventure just because he's intelligence 7. Screw that guy, I'm ruling you can rob him, and local youths draw penises on his face while he's asleep.
>>
>>21371236
I say we rob him and draw penises on his face!
>>
>>21371236
We have so little to gain from robbing him, though. "Let 'im try and collect 'is 6 gold from a valliant fallen warrior wot shoddy workmanship couldnae protect."
I hope my wounds are clotting, cuz it's time for beer, bread, and bed for this dwarf's aching head
>>
If Gruber and Fig'Tard take equal shares, they get 282gp. Gruber gets 282 XP and Fig'Tard gets 296.

Obama gets 100 gold and 105XP from robbing the armourer

equal shares sounds good to me, up to Obama whether he wants to rob the armourer.

yes! Equal shares to everybody! I get 1/5 the treasure right? Although that's not really fair since some of you are better fighters and thus don't need the gold as much, so I'm thinking something like a 28/18/18/18/18 split

The Kobold is dead. You each gain 5XP.

The kobolds do not have any money on them, and as usual nobody wants crappy little swords or bloody kobold sized armour.

>>
>>21373563
We do that, time is imaginary in a game, as meta as that may be

Continuing on, the path turns west. As you round the corner, you see a goblin. "Who goes there?"
It looks like there are five others with him

No. What you'd get is a suprise round, giving a free attack. Then you'd roll initiative, and if you won you'd have gotten two attacks in a row.

The goblins are crap at fighting.

Apparently the goblins are much better off than the kobolds. You gather 145 silver pieces from their bodies.
Each of you also gets 10XP

Resting restores about 1 hp / day, we should all go back.
"Aye, let's see aboot gettin' ourselves a proper strongbox! May'ap 'ey even got a branch o' the dorfen exchange bank wot we kin trust it to?"
>>
With everyone returning back to town with sacks of treasure, this seems like a good time to stop. You split the money, 48 silvers each and one for the elf.

Yeah, probably around then.

I'm not doing it in rhyme like Tregard, but imagine the Knightmare theme is playing.
Stephen and Gruber re-enter the dungeon, and were trapped by the magic of an enchanted bed. Luckily the elf Rubyleaf saved them, carrying them off to the other bedroom where the curse was broken. Fig'Tard the dwarf came in with her, and when Colbert attacked the zombies in the wardrobe he came to his help. Sadly it was in vain, and Colbert fell to their swords before they were defeated. The survivors found a valuable circlet, and returned home to bury Stephen. They came back to the castle with Robert Downey Jr, a medium, and EchoWinds who killed the bat. They found a stripper, let out of a cake centuries past schedule, and defeated her zombie corpse to win the sexy boots. As the party dealt with an enchanted crate, Robert put some kobold guards to sleep and slew them all. They then found a hatbox, tied with a piece of string that they've not yet opened. They fought four more kobolds guarding the way down, and below found a pool of magic water which detects magic. Back upstairs was a room with a treasure chest, made to look like a log fall trap but really quite safe. Further along was a real trap, a statue of a Kobold lass that struck Robert, sending him home. Downstairs again, the party battled a ghoul, and fought six goblins who worked for Bargle. They won the fight but Echo was wounded, and they returned to the surface to share the loot
