Is anyone against joint-research on PA with DBRL?
If not, lets that be negotiated too.

And I hope we're professional enough to not let our guard down even for a second during the festivities. Actually, we should increase it.
>>

>>>>21611820

I will back this, however we still have to get our current satellite to produce stuff. Also this kinda seems like something that we would need to shoot a rocket up for.
>>
>>21611875

Actually how about lets not, tec and robotics is our thing and biology and bioengineering seems to be theirs
I think it would be better to think on other projects we could fund or cooperate on
like say different types of genemods, more effective genemods or cybernetic replacements for lost limbs
>>
Your budding civilisation is roughly a year old, that's something worth celebrating. The Borad of Directors has IT work on turning on the old decoration displays and getting them to display the stereotypical "Happy Holidays" messages. The skies above light city are treated toa colorful light show the likes of which haven't been seen for 200 years. The celebration lasts all week, there's feasting and gifting and in general the message is that things are looking up.

The Darwinnians are cautious about making contact with Bishop Harlan's people but they do their best to be polite and reasonably friendly. Bishop Harlan for his part insists on having a small prayer ceremony for each person who has fallen in the name of keeping you and your allies safe over this past year.

It's atad heavy on the fire and brimstone but generally well recieved.

continued.
>>
>>21611875
Feature for feature trade should be discussed. If they like it, we can open up the idea of new research.

However, the first thing should be an exchange of census data, really. We can say, 'we've been asking for genemods. This is how many people we have, so if we doubled up on all of them you'd be looking at this many mods, how long would that take if you have a bottleneck?' and ask for the same kind of information for our own planning purposes if we're expected to fabricate things for their population in our arrangements.

If they can't tell us if they have over or under a thousand people and they want to be less vulnerable at some point in the near future, we won't have an easier time planning things.
>>
>>21611880
Not really.
1) Write production software for fabrication module.
2) Fabricate starcarrier bays and maintenance with scrap materials, gather spacejunk if more is needed.
3) Write software to subvert fighters.
4) Harvest fighters.

What requires a rocket?
>>
>>21611956
I was thinking that the comtech to support the additional bandwidth would have to be shot into space, specialized components and all that. having people on a floor directing fighters instead of having AI on them would take a considerable ammount of throughput. as well as we aren't sure if the constrcution bay can be self replicating.
>>
Your marketing division spends pretty much all week pumping the Merchants for information and you learn about 4 more settlements that could use your services.

So far you are supplying Shmidtsburg with simple firearms and ammunition, they would like some Biofuel powered vehicles and access to electricity and instruments like elctric guitars, amps, and speakers are alos luxury items they would like. Fertilizer, new crops, and aid with the occasional bandit raid are also desirable.

You've also learned of the Towns of Twisted Neck, Dry River, John's House and Red Light. You don't lknow much about the Towns and the merchants in charge of the caravans won't tell you anything until you sign a contract that says you'll fund and supply security for 1 caravan run. (whether or not you choose to continue that caravan run is up to you. you'd recieve 1/2 an RU for each caravan you funded and it would take an RU to begin a caravan, but the caravan would fund itself from thereon. )
>>
So, I think we should maybe be getting the message out to the people in the city that were the good guys and all that jazz.
If we are going to follow our manifest destiny then we need more people and the best way to do that is to recruit more of the locals.
So we should invest in a heavy recruitment drive!
Then we put them through our reeducation program and presto more coroporate lackeys.

>>
Didnt we make a deal witht the Darwinians and get like 80 genemods or something? where are those?
>>
>>21612126
agreed, lets provide them with LMG technicals loaded with Electric guitars, amps, and speakers as well as a Biofuel powered electrical generator or two towed by said technicals.

Sign the contracts, we need to establish a foothold in our new potential towns.
>>
>>21612001
It's cannibalized a cable entertainment communications satellite, we shouldn't need a bandwidth upgrade in space. If anything we'd need one on the ground. As for AI, again, all that can be built on the ground and in space. We have a construction module, we should be able to make things up there.

If you have an urge to launch something, we can do that later when there is a definite need. However, things we launch are vulnerable to attack from a number of fronts. Securing that sort of thing will take in-space arming, etc.

>>21612126

>>21612151

>>21612157

I thought we had a deal? Do what we did last turn and in return we get our rebotic MBT program started. Here is my proposal
one RU to leg/wheel integration
one RU to make a prototype tank gun
2 /12 RU to make more caravans.
Next turn we do main body design and get the gun out of protype and into mass production.
>>
>>21612224
>>>21612123
>Our RUs are on the ground. It can gather its own resources.

I agree. HOWEVER i need your help with having it discover scrap AND any type of development research we've done needed an RU to complete and the software for the fabricator will need to be adapted..thus research. Adapting the software should help us in saving the 2RU it would take to dev it from scratch.
>>
Okay 40 more steve rogers specials.

Note that 1 genemod accounts for 1 mutation therapy so 80 genemeds equals 2 mutations per person.

Now, as for your Construction Module.

You need to make software for it before you can get it to function, that'll cost 1 RU.

Oh and STARTING a caravan costs 1 RU, after that it maintains itself. You can increase the Value of your caravans by customizing the goods you send the customers so that they'll scrounge up more useful stuff to give you.
>>
>>21612189
As I told some people I was voting with them in exchange for certain things this turn, here's a plan that should keep everyone happy:

DIPLOMACY:
-Tell the medalheads in Shmidtsburg that we're going to give them the gift of the troubadour and give them records and some playback equipment as well as sheet music and maybe a guy to train them to read it. Give them a shitload of the metal we have archived, as well as stuff that sounds pretty decent whether it is played on metal or not (melodic medal, for instance, and stuff like this video of two metalheads deciding to play acoustic guitars: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9KBgg-hrtyo )

EFFORTS:
-Initiate STARCARRIER, if free, and write some code for the construction module.

RESOURCES:
-One to DAUNTLESS to develop a caterpillar tread chassis.
-One to start a caravan. This will be ongoing for several turns, probably until we maximize gains in the short-term.
-One to OVERCHARGE. It's past due.
-One for GOLIATH to develop tank weaponry.
>>
>>21612268
I am fine with this, but postpone the caravan and get an RU for satellite dev.
>>
>>21612296
>>21612302

In that case, we can devote the OVERCHARGE RU to the sat software, next turn we should just be rolling for space stuff and we'll likely get an extra resource.
>>
>>21612292
>Oh and STARTING a caravan costs 1 RU, after that it maintains itself. You can increase the Value of your caravans by customizing the goods you send the customers so that they'll scrounge up more useful stuff to give you.

then this >>21612157

should get us some awesome stuff. Next turn after this one though.
>>
>>21612292
>You can increase the Value of your caravans by customizing the goods you send the customers so that they'll scrounge up more useful stuff to give you.

Basically we get more RU if we trade them the stuff they want, like electric guitars and shit for Rock-town?
Otherwise we just trade generic stuff and get less RU than we could?

Yeah, we need to sign the caravan contract so that we get information on those other towns
>>
>>21612296
Seconding
>>
>>21612296
>played on metal or not
metal guitar
>>
>>21612317
Agreed. I support consensus on this.
>>
>>21612332
Seconding and adding to the above plan, but also suggesting we write the contract to allow them to be our clients and for us to opt out if necessary, for wartime and the like.
>>
>>21612224

Oh but your wrong, the Brawler mutation may seem like an unwise choice right now, but once we have a more stable relationship with the Darwinians and a regulr supply of mutations we will be able to start using Brawler/Toughness troops as shocktroopers or vanguard units

My point stands though, I believe we should provide security for the caravans and send with them people to act as recruiters
EIther they can act as liasons there or even bring back new recruits
Fact is we need to start spreading our influence beyond a couple of towns, and we'll never do that if we dont market ourselves
All it takes is a positive image to the rest of the city :)
>>

oh, and yes EW, starting with the General Foundries/Fabrique Generale code for your automated foundries is viable and will net you +15 to your rolls on developing software for R&R Angel's Caniballized fabricator.

>>
>>21612358
Have some copypasta from last thread.

>The problem with brute mods is that over time, more and more equipment will have to be customized for them. Our robotics are going to get better, not worse. Let the machines do the heavy lifting; we can make a bigger power-armor model (the middleweight mech I've been pushing for) without sacrificing much.

>Also, every brute mod we place in tandem with a second mod takes up either a toughness slot, rendering the result strong but vulnerable, or an agility slot, creating an allegedly stronger trooper that can't do as well when it comes to handling complex weapons systems. Ogryns are just going to get slaughtered here.

>They're likely worse snipers than our smaller teams, at this point. The toughness package has many benefits, including letting you eat anything you want and other things that let them remain in the field for longer. They're also more vulnerable to power armor malfunctions, or for example to the sonic weapon system or their suits overheating from prolonged exposure to explosions, et cetera.

>In essence, they are less tactically flexible, harder to support for long-term fieldwork, and more vulnerable than agility+toughness troops. They're like ogryns compared to stormtroopers, except they're a bit smarter and a lot more vulnerable than ogryns. Putting a strong man in armor that won't do him that much good isn't going to make up the difference when he's facing a fucking tank.

Okay we seem to have consensus. The people of Shmidtsburg already have an archive of written music but your gift of a digital jukebox powered by a gedddonite battery and a ten year guarantee in case it breaks down earns you more than a little love. People in Light City already see us as saviors, and while I agree with your points about caravan security and recruitment, the communities in question will either need to have our outposts created within them, which will be expensive, or will suffer from sending us their people.

We can't suck them dry unless we're willing to assume all responsibility for their welfare, and we can't do that if we don't have comparable materiel to bring to the battlefield.

Right now, any community that has our protection is extremely vulnerable to assaumt from Majesty/Order forces, let alone the Spartans. If we manage to piss off the Republic somehow, that's just one more dangerous group to work with.

As such, it is clear that we will be needing more research and development in terms of weapons than marketing campaigns. As it is, we are locally hailed as saviors fully half the time anyway.

We certainly don't need as many as we do toughness+agility troops, that is for sure but discounting them entirely I believe is unwise.
We should dedicate a small amount to producign effective toughness+brawler troops to act as support troops for them.
Yes we will eventually have robotics to act as heavy lifters but they will likely never be as flexible or adaptive as having some dedicate CQC troops to support our long rang troops.
Im not even saying a third of our mutated troops need to be brutes maybe 1 out of 4.
I believe some dedicated armor for them is also necessary, though that is really a minor thing that shouldnt take much effort to fix.

>>
>>21612426
Okay R&D and Engineering get together and manage to slap together some code, after spending a lot of time testing it and revising it they finally get a functional version of it ready. This version of it is beams up to R&R Angel, the code proves glitchy and requires further modification, as well as taking into account that the fabricator module is in space. But eventually R&R Angel is able to supplement its original Repair robot with a helper. (all satellites come with a small repair bot that can be used to modify, repair, or upgrade the satellite.) The fabricator unit is now functional, but if you want to turn it into an independent satellite of its own you're going to need at least half a ton of mass and important components.
>>
Rolled 68

Third Goliath Roll.
>>
>>21612504
Honestly, maybe one in ten. But yes, I support the idea. The problem is, for every expensive trooper we field who is not a machine, if we put them in CQC against a horde of tribals where a machine could do the same and they go home in a casket or in pieces, we have effectively lost more than we gained even if every attacker is dead.

They are however currently useful for fielding full-auto crownbreakers, and as close to spess mehreenes as we'll get without a lot of work and successful combinations of all three mutations.
>>
>>21612527
Actually the project was originally named Gungnir, after a spear in Norse mythology. Not sure how it became Goliath
>>
>>21612559
sweeeeet
>>
>>21612583
GOLIATH was the name that OP gave to the overarching heavy weaponized vehicle project. We can name the tanks themselves Goliaths if you want, GRUNGIR's a good name.
>>
>>21612559
Next turn we have it fabricate a fighter bay or recharging station, I think. Turn after that we can start writing code to capture the things.
>>
>>21612583
I thought that Gungnir was for Gauss/Railgun weapons. Goliath is for general tank weapons
>>
>>21612630
FIRELANCE was the proposed name for Gauss effect or railgun weapons. GRUNGIR can be conventional heavy stuff.
>>
After Several days of experimentation R&D manages to turn out a Gun Rover that makes use of a typical Tread Locomotion drive. This is notable because it also makes use of six heavily armored legs that can be used as an alternative source of locomotion. Furthermore the legs in question are tipped with clumsy, but strong manipulators that can be used for climbing allowing the Gun-Rover in question to climb out of a ditch that it was forced to roll into.

With very little modification this technology could be scaled up to APCs or Tanks. (note that the tank treads can be switched out for wheels quite easily.)
>>
>>21612559
>>21612625
With all due respect EL, we need to have it scavange for supplies first.
>>
>>21612650
Retracting wheel integration research with the legs will be the end of this lot, I think.

>>21612656
Whatever works. Maybe we can search for a smaller dead or dying carrier sat and scavenge it.
>>
>>21612575

Well I certainly dont support their use as Shocktroopers, thats a waste of resources
but use as troops able to easily keep up with and support our longer range troops.
They wouldnt ever become our base line troops but they would be highly effective CQC troops against smaller groops or singular enemies.

Either way I think we migth want to put some resources into developing better close quarters weaponry for our troops, naything from a bigger knife to more effective side arms.
They are going to need them if we are facing horde tactics
>>
>>21612672
i would not be opposed to that
>>
R&D takes the artillery designs that have proven to be reasonably effective and modifies them. They combine an old fashioned Turret Mounted cannon with LONGBOW's targetting software and hardware and manage to develop a system that can fire several types of ammunition. It has enough stopping power to stop your average MBT and more than enough to take down an APC (In theory anyway, this weapon hasn't been tested by combat trials.) and by all objective evidence the Thunder Strike Cannon should serve as an excellent weapon once it is put into mass production.
>>
>>21612672

That, I like. Somehow the image of our Sat up in orbit feeding off the corpses of already dead Sats like some sort of mechanical vulture appeals to me.
>>
>>21612650
I think we should scale these up into tracked artillery pieces so we can get some moving heavy firesupport going.

Also I vote we explore for additional geddonite resources

Oh and your increased population and agressive campaign of providing incentives for hard work has netted you a bonus of +1/2 resources from V-Town. Your workers are currently armed with swords, spears, crossbows, bows, slings and sling-staves. please note that they are having to venture into more and more dangerous parts of the city to find useful salvage and injuries from the mutated wild life are becoming more common.
>>
>>21612956
At some point, a clash with Majesty/Order forces is going to be inevitable.

When they come for us, do you want them to have a local base to supply and strike from, or do you want them to fight for every inch of our territory?

Mind you, we're still some time away from the assault.
>>
>>21612949
Rent a cops is what we get until we fins ourselves some military remnant bros I am afraid. Other than that I agree.
>>
>>21612962
Well then, we give them training and equip them with rudimentary rifles that require little maintenance.
>>
>>21612962
provide them with basic armor (the best thing we had before PA) and fire-arms (hunting rifles and such)
>>
>>21612980
We have the Library of Congress in our archives. The works of leading military thinkers and basically everything they teach people at West Point, the Navy college in Annapolis, the Air Force academy, the Marines and SEALS, and Quantico is going to be in there in some form.

We can certainly formulate something soon.
>>
>>21612929
I know we've been over Gauss Weapons before, but considering now we're getting into MBT's, we should look into larger vehicle mounted railguns/coilguns. If we can even exceed 25MJ of kinetic energy, we've beaten the muzzle velocity energy of the M1A2's main gun.
>>
>>21612929

Totally on board with this initiative, I especially support the Parish idea. Maybe see about refurbishing their defenses(specifically their wall) into something capable of standing up to more than a simple raider attack.

Also OVERCHARGE sorely needs to be started.
>>
>>21612878
Okay you have incendiary rounds, Armor Piercing rounds High Explosive rounds, and yes Canister. Your Artillery cannons are rifled, the Thunder Strike Cannon is modeled off your howitzers so they're rifled too.

oh and you still have smoke grenades and knock out gas and tear gass just in case anyone forgot about that stuff.
>>
>>21612962
hm how about selling of lesser arms and equipment to any who offer a to pay(food, resources so on and so forth)?
>>
>>21612995
>>21612962
How about next round we mass-manufacture some riot armor and basic arms?

>>21613001
Yeah, that's gonna be Project FIRELANCE and I expect it can start as soon as GRUNGIR gives us everything we need for conventional arms.
>>
>>21612956
They've been steadily increasing the weight behind their attacks for a long time. Destroying their local base will deprive them of a convenient platform to attack us from.
>>21612949
I thought we implemented a training program a while back. Also, if you think we need so much then keep pushing the pace on R&D.
>>
Rolled 19

>>21612996
He's right. We may not have proper training and teachers, but we have the books an videos an shit. We can, at the very least, get on the right track.
Also, put it to note. Security forces at The Tower hate Captcha for making them retype their message seven times as of this sending.
>>
>>21613015
>How about next round we mass-manufacture some riot armor and basic arms?

Shouldn't we have a whole bunch of armor and small arms left when we upgraded our armaments?
>>
Also, forming up some militia units for our workers to act as security on scavenging trips might be wise. Give the workers basic protection vests and the secruity some riot gear and some sub machine guns.
Nothing capable of harming Teutons but enought to deal with raiders and mutant animals.
>>
The two things I think we need to do this week are Finish Gugnir, and create a design for our MBT. We've made the legs and the gun, but we still need the fiddly bits made.
>>
>>21612949
Oh I forgot to update the soldier numbers.... anyways...

Ever since you decided to train up your troups you've been training your special forces up to roughly the levl of very talented General Infantry.

You never really bothered to come up with a name for your special troops though.

Your basic troops are still normal infantry though.

Oh and you distribute Anti Ballistic vests, padding, helmets, hunting rifles and pistols to your workers in V-Town so that the Mutated Rats, Cats, and Dogs of Light City don't pose such an extreme threat. (This is why they wanted better weapons all along.)
>>
I have a propasition for the board. My suggestion is that we sell sturdy easy to repair subpar(not the quality we offer our own forces) equipment(weapons armor and so forth) to any who offer a decent way to pay. We will have shops that will provide these services and we can develop large caravan vehicles to offer similar services during their travels. We can even allow special custom orders for the right price.
>>
>>21613030
Yes we did but it was for no resources and was going to pay off slowly.
Im not sure how far thats progressed
>>
>>21613079
*still normal rent-a-cos. Buh.

anyway for one RU you can turn your Rent-A-Cops into General infantry and your special forces into troopers worthy of the name.
>>
>>21613093
sure, we're a megacorp at heart after all, we should sell shit for profit
besides just equipment we can and should sell consumer products too (electric appliances, clothes, food, (quad)bikes, fuels, etc) maybe even survival products (flashlights, rollmats, cookery, tools, etc)

Updated plan, then:

-Continue with DAUNTLESS, with retracting wheel integration.
-Continue GRUNGIR, with if nothing else mass production optimization. That might conclude GRUNGIR for the moment, pending a reactivation when needed.
-Start OVERCHARGE.
-Build the Parish something they want.
-Start another caravan.

Other actions:
-STARCARRIER: Find a smaller sat that can support fighters, target it if we have a chance to kill it, and cannibalize the carrier-bits.

Next turn/later turns:
-PROJECT GOLIATH: Integration of GRUNGIR and DAUNTLESS, final design on a tank prototype.
-Training for troops.
-Infrastructure for the Parish.

It takes a great deal of effort on the part of your scientists but they manage to develop a modular Wheel/Tread Drive. (You can switch out wheels for treads but you can't have both.) The Wheels/Treads Can be retracted into an "Inactive" position where they will theoretically be protected from enemy attacks by the active Hexapode drive's armor plating and the armor plating of the vehicle itself. In the "Active" position the Hexapode drive folds up and the armor plating on the legs lines up in a manner that should provide some measure of extra protection. Aside from being heavy on maintanence there are no noticable flaws in the DAUNTLES Locomotion drive.

After experimentation with the resources at your command you come to two main concldusions.

Geddonite-C can be used to absorb electrical or heat energy, in fact with some careful modification it may prove superior to the solar panels that would've been used in the early design phases of PROJECT OVERCHARGE.

B: That building a microwave energy transmission device will be expensive and require a great deal of careful planning in the hardware and software stages. The unique geography of Light City will also require the presence of relay towers so you can transfer power from The Tower to teams who are farther afield.

Use of geddonite C should also allow specialized rovers to transfer power directly from their batteries to units in the field.

You have some ideas at least.
>>
>>21613864
So we can use it to microwave enemies with some tweaks?

>>21613814

>>
among other things the parish want a steady supply of electricity, mostly they only use electric devices when they absolutely have to. (The CIWS systems you gave them run on Geddonite Batteries. So does any other power intensive stuff you gave them. )

You have an old Nuclear Generator in your basement, its good for the next 300 years or so. The Parish mainly wants electricity. (They'd also like wine. You already built them a decently fortified wall. and armed it with AA stuff and machine guns and what have you...)
>>
>>21613979
nah, that's just mass production of something you already have 1 RU... Leaving you with what...? 3?
>>
>>21613864
>>21613984

Excellent. Waiting for input on GUNGIR and planning the next round of spending.

We should have six RUs. Here's the stuff we were going to consider on this or later turns, guys:

-PROJECT GOLIATH: Integration of GRUNGIR and DAUNTLESS, final design on a tank prototype.
-Training for troops.
-Infrastructure for the Parish so we can finish up on our commitments to them. It's only been like six months.
-Selling relevant things to the masses in need of protective gear as noted in >>21613093

Currently active projects are STARCARRIER, OVERCHARGE, DAUNTLESS (mass production), GUNGIR and possibly GOLIATH.
>>
>>21614042
A modest proposal:

1 RU to produce tanks
1 to overcharge
1 to caravans

Also: going to bed now, it has been a honour
>>
>>21614042
If we spent one on dauntless, one on overcharge, and one on a caravan, we should have one left. If GUNGIR doesn't need it we either prototype GOLIATH or do what's needed next for STARCARRIER.

>>21614102
For GUNGNIR if you just want a decent machine gun you already have a fully auto anti-material weapon and HMGs and LMGs loosely based on your Assault rifle. So its a question of whether or not you absolutely have to have a Gatling Gun.

Otherwise you're free to prototype a GOLIATH tank. Or an APC or something. (really its just as simple as taking a WreckingRover, tweaking it, and putting it into production as far as the APCs are concerned.)

and yeah you should have only 1 RU left. I'm kinda busy...

>>
>>21614166
That wasn't an order of preference, but I certainly support GOLIATH.

We won't be able to do training this round with our other commitments. It'll be one to OVERCHARGE and mass production for DAUNTLESS and a caravan.

Certainly we can do something for training in a later round.
>>
>>21614166
I'll allow that roll to count for Goliath due to a bulleted list that makes a clear order of preference. Note that in the future rolls like that will always count for whats at the top of the list.

I'll write up goliath and hit you with copy pasta.
>>
>>21614163
Do we have something like the main armament on the M1A2, a tank cannon? If not, we can prototype that with GUNGIR. If we don't need one or it would be less effective than a Crownbreaker with full autofire, we can keep that.

Other than that, we're giving the Parish what they need for reliable Biodiesel power generation.

>>21614173
Thanks.
>>
R&D and Engineeringt managed to out do themselves by producing a fully functional version of the Proposed GOLIATH tank. They even managed ot get a rough version of the BARDING armor upgrade off the ground granting the tank in question some stealth capabilities.

At the moment it has a Hexapedal Locomotion drive, the legs are tipped with large, all terrain wheels that are designed to take a great deal of punishment. It also has some fairly standard Tank Treads.

It's main Armament is a Thunder Strike Cannon (a modified howitzer artillery piece that's performous is roughly analgous to the M1A2 cannon) It also has a pair of Fully Automatic Crown Breakers, one mounted right next to the ThunderStrike, the other is mounted in a small emplacement to the forward of the tank where it can mow down approaching infantry. The engineers note that there is more room for secondary weapons.

The tank runs on biofuel at the moment but could be converted to geddonite as a power source.

so yeah, you got a tank.
>>
>>21613583
>>21614163

A gatling gun would provide a sustained rate of fire greater than single-barrelled machine guns of an equivalent caliber.

Also gatling guns are awesome. Who doesn't want a galting gun?
>>
>>21614337
Wunderbar. I take it if we want more than a few (if not one) per RU, we're going to need to develop efficient manufacture methods for it?
>>
So yeah, you can mass produce Thunder Strike Cannons and Goliath tanks, though you can only support 6 Goliaths. Might wanna think about the other secondaries.

Oh and you might wanna work on mas sproducing BARDING technology.
>>
>>21614353
Well, the guys doing maintenance on it, for one. We'll maybe get to multi-barreled cannons later, but railguns may render them obsolete.
>>
>>21614371
Have we given the Parishoners their electrical grid this turn yet?
>>
>>21614353
I'd prefer a browning M2 personally but hey, consensus.

>>21614366
that 100 let you mass produce Thunder Strick Cannons and start producing Goliath's (1 per RU, 2 if you want decent armor) But your grasp of BARDING (Vehicle RINGMAIL tech) is sketchy so you're gonna have difficulties giving them that until you iron out the kinks.
>>
>>21614414
Very well. We can work on that next turn. Probably we need a dedicated weapons and armor lab for these rolls.
>>
>>21614388
Okay we might as well do that I guess, how do you want to do that? By giving them a building dedicated to running some efficient BioDiesel generators? Tying them into The Tower's Nuclear generator?

Something else?

Either way you don't have to roll for it. Keep in mind building a series of power line relays to link the Tower and the Parish would give your enemies something to attack.
>>
>>21614455
Then i recomend that we place the power lines underground preferably using the old sewer tunnels if can.
>>
>>21614455
We could make them some solar panels, it may not generate a lot, but it's low maintenance and reliable.
>>
>>21614455
We'll give them standalone facilities for now, and maybe later we'll implement >>21614488

However, given that it will take resources just to drain and seal each section of underground tunnel, we won't be able to bury power lines at the moment. Might as well decentralize.
>>
>>21614535
Actually, yeah, we could do that.
>>
You build a structure in the middle of The Parish, it has a simple function, house efficient biofuel generators and the fuel for these objects. In the event of an attack it should also contain any fire or explosive damage. It's a stop gap measure but in the meantime it should provide the Parish with safe, dependable power.

Oh and you send a caravan to the town of twisted neck.

For the caravans that we shall eventually run i have a project suggestion, That being Project Shop.
we develop a specialized armored Vehicle that would act as a mobile bastion of defense/shop. Once we go mobile and our goods become known we will become a massive target both by raiders and our enemies. In that regard I recommend we develop a specialized cargo vehicle for our caravan runs it will off course have a built in kill switch. If someone should take it their will be no reverse engineering or looting. It when stopped grants a place to customers allowing them to browse our wares. When mobile it would be heavily armored with many turrets combined with an escort of some tanks, apc, and drones make them a formidable target. Luckily its design we can base off an overgrown american cargo truck with apc features perhaps even some tank mixed in.
>>
>>21614640
1 to caravan, 1 to Overcharge, 1 make more Ballista munitions, and 1 to start Firelance?
>>
>>21614640

RU expenditure:
OVERCHARGE (build high energy systems lab), GUNGIR/BARDING to build a dedicated weapons and armor lab, DAUNTLESS to refine production and separate the treads like pic related so they can be individually raised or lowered for better traction on uneven ground. One more caravan. One for the training program.

STARCARRIER: Should seek another target.

Second/make suggestions, please.

The Town of Red Light is built on the borders of an old industrial town, they've managed to get steady shipments of coal from somewhere and have a decent coal power plant. This plant provides power for the factories that allow them to produce weapons, ammunition, and jury rigged automobiles.

Apparently the Town used to hav a thriving LBGT community and "Red Light" was its old disparaging nickname. No one knows what it was called before.

Regardless pollution in the area is pretty heavy thanks to the factory and power plant and people are beginning to suffer the effects, a cleaner source of power, better weapons and vehicle tech (their facilities are quite primitive. Their cars burn coal,) better medical care, and steady supply of clean water would be good trade items.

So far you're supplying them with the standard mix of survival gear.

I've got an idea of what we could do with the crates of stuff we have, we could build-in a keypad and a small packet of thermite into the crates, this allows our crates to be unraidable from local bandit forces and the Majesty.

Have we been informing D.B.R.L. of these places? We might want to coordinate with them to provide these communities with things we don't specialize in seeing as this would benefit both of us.

And then someone's kid blows themselves up because he wants to steal something for a lark.

hm were gonna have to have our caravans specialize based on their intended visits. In any case research vehicle armor and maintenance.

It still has a lock on it, if said kid tries to break the lock on it, then the thermite packet activates, it should only be on the crates that contains weapons.

Research for an existing project, or general stuff? If you're just reacting to the news from the new town, we might want to wait a bit until we finish some projects.

okay RL has intervened and I have to bow out early, however barring a disaster I shall see you again tommorrow afternoon.

have great night guys!

You know, there are perfectly good security measures that don't use explosives and thus don't risk blowing up valuable things like war materiel.

Most of the tools lying around where the irresponsible could grab them aren't exactly in good condition. We could slap a heavy chain on a lot of this stuff and nobody'd be able to cut it because they wouldn't be able to find a pair of bolt cutters that weren't rusted through.

Thanks for the thread and take care.

Reccomend we just design the rest of the tank, worry about tweaking subsystems after we have a basic design.
>>
I have some ideas for new weapons for our new tanks:
-Rocket/Missile arty
-AA
- regular arty
As for secondary weapons I suggest either putting SAM/SSM missile launchers on them and/ or developing some kind of Anti-Missile System. What do you think?

Love it, add in some auto-crownbreakers and you have a deal

that will learn them then. Don't steal from the corporation

We already have two Auto-crownbreakers on the damned things. How many more do you want?

>OVER 9000!!!
Seriously though I hadn't gotten that far reading and got excited when I saw the suggestion.
I can't think of anything else that I'd want to put on it besides rockets, we should make a tank base dedicated to Long Range Artillery though. Nothing like shelling the oposition from afar.

that is what the arty variants are for.

Not that this is relevant or anything, but here are some points:

-We already have a basic tank design.
-It does, as mentioned, have two fully automatic crownbreakers.
-We can mount a double barrel on it or something, but at the moment it has a dedicated cannon.
-If we want to mount missiles on it, an option would be to use what's called a gun-launched missile system, where the main gun can fire both projectile shells and guided weapons. Proper design will allow these missiles to be fly-by-wire compatible, meaning they can take on a range of targets in the air and on the ground.
-Obviously, if the main gun gets badly damaged it would be good to have a set of secondary deployment systems for the missiles. As such, one or two top hatches that could be retracted under a moving panel would not go amiss (and three or four would be pretty good). This would also allow safer reloading from internal ammunition stocks.
-Obviously a second barrel would also allow some greater degree of redundancy, whether it were a secondary barrel or a second main cannon.
-Anti-air fire is best left to a dedicated platform, but a flak missile is an option we might explore.

A flaw missile would be inefficient. If we go the AA missile we want a missile that can take down a helo if one shot
>>
>>21617083
I meant a flak missile

I would like to point out that the main threat that a tank would have to worry about would be attack helicopters. we can't be sure just from one battle but it looks like tanks are very rare, so the most common tank killer around would probably be helicopters. we might want to consider either including a few ground to air missals in goliaths standard load out, or develop a dedicated AA platform that will serve as support.
