You are Linda Richtofen, GENTLEWOMAN ADVENTURER!, and you have the worst hangover in the world. You can't quite remember what happened yesterday but since you are in a bed you're reasonably sure you didn't pass out in an alley. Not that that's ever happened to you. ''So the empress awakes. It certainly took you long enough'' , intrudes a truly evil sound within your moment of rest. There appears to be a woman wearing half a dress in your room.

Oh, right, those guys. You definitely remember fwooshing a jackass with a sword and you sort of remember talking to his companions afterwards. That's right, apparently the obnoxiousness on legs was the Chosen One! Then you agreed to take over for him. You're not quite sure why you thought that was a good idea but you've clearly talked yourself into a corner. By the gods, you can't even remember what you had to drink last night! You assume it was awesome and swear to yourself to never do it again. Your head agrees with that resolution and reminds you that you still have to respond to miss clothes-are-for-squares other there.

1: An adventurer needs rest! Even I, Linda Richtofen, GENTLEWOMAN ADVENTURER!, must recuperate if she is to perform!
2: Ow, ow, ow, my head! Come back in a 20 minutes and I'll be able to think!
3: An adventurer is never late; neither is she early. She arrives exactly at the appointed time.

This. So much this.

Cut-off in 5 minutes.

''An adventurer needs rest! I, Linda Richtofen... Ow, ow, ow, my head! Come back in about twenty minutes so I can learn to think again, all right?'' You are almost certain her voice could be considered a weapon. A destructive weapon. That brings low everyone around her. A Voice of Mass Destruction, if you will. Oh, she does not look happy. ''Are you serious? On the very day you swear to embark on a quest to save the world, you spend the morning nursing your hangover! Some Chosen One you are turning out to be!''

1: Hey, at least I don't kill random people out of boredom!
2: Please be quiet. I think you may be literally destroying my mind. I'm begging you here.
3: Linda, GENTLEWOMAN ADVENTUrer. Ow, ow, ow, shall depart on her quest as soon as the world ceases to be evil!

>>21689935
Don't do that, we may accidently burn her to cinders...
>>
>>21690001
it's just a small zap
>>
>>21690058
B-b-b-but we dont zap, we fwoooosh! It might burn what little clothes she has?
>>
>>21690074
>It might burn what little clothes she has?

That's just better. That would learn her not to back speak to us.
>>
>>21690092
I'll just say that you know for a fact that if you were not hung-over you would have enough control to only burn off clothes. However, you are currently, in fact, hung-over.
>>
>>21690120
Well, then don't burn her. Maybe teleport her away. That would be hilarious. But i doubt we can...
>>
>>21690143
You can try. I'd look at your skill at spatial sorcery first though.
>>
>>21690120
>>21690163

well, you're certainly no fun allowed

Okay, no using magic on her
>>
>>21690194
I'm not saying you can't do it. You'll have to roll for it though. Or try again in about 2 hours in-universe.

Dont magic, just do 3.

''Linda, GENTLEWOMAN ADVENTUrer. Ow, ow, ow, shall depart on her quest as soon as the world ceases to be evil!'' Well, that didn't come out right. ''Don't worry your pretty little head Aurelia. This sort of thing involves days of travel; a few hours won't unduly endanger the world. It may endanger our tab at this inn if we don't leave before the innkeeper can corner us with the bill. '' You think that's the elf. Yeah, must be the elf; the knight wouldn't say that and the priestess was a bit of a wallflower.

1: Oh, right, paying for the drinks. Do you have any money on you?
2: Oh shit, run! You suddenly remember , with surprising clarity that last night involved a huge brawl that wrecked the common room.
3: Looks like there are more delays as far as getting on with this quest of yours is concerned; you suddenly remember with surprising clarity the huge brawl you initiated last night. You don't think you can afford to pay for it so you may have to fix it yourself.
4: Nah, it's cool. You have adventurer-scale spending money on you.
>>

What brawl? I didnt see no brawl..
>>

Are you asking me, or is that an in-character reaction?
>>
Cut-off in five minutes.
>>
Tab? Why should that be a problem? There's no way you drank enough for it to be problematic.

Oh shit.

Out the window! You jump out of bed, grab your stuff and flee out the window before anyone has the chance to stop us. ''Meet you on the north road'' you shout as you start running down the street as fast as you possibly can. After you few minutes, after checking that nobody is following you, you stop to catch your breath. Turns out you ended up at the docks. Lots of boats and people and noise about. Your hang-over is back with a vengeance.

1: Go to the north road. You want to start that quest.
2: Double back and go spy on the inns' front door so you can join your new comrades as they leave. Just to make sure they don't forget your directions and not at all because you're worried they'll ditch you.
3: Do something with boats (buy passage, sign up as a privateer, sign up as a pirate chaser, etc.)
>>

Maybe you should go back. They might get lost, it's a big city after all. They might not even have heard you. Yeah, let's go back.
As you approach the inn you look around for a good hiding spot to wait for your comrades to leave the inn. Being a genius, you come up with the brilliant idea of hiding on the roof. You levitate up, with rather more difficulty than usual, and crouch down behind a high store-front.

1: Wait until they show up, no matter how long it takes.
2: Wait for an hour.
3: Wait for about 5 minutes. This is boring.
>>
>>21691830

We might catch em doing something suspicious, especially that chick with the apparently pure evil voice.

Can't wait all day though in case we didn't see em leave and they are waiting on us. We had planed on bailing in a hurry.

Actually, you could legitimately have left them behind. You don't have to keep anyone around and the only one who is not allowed to die is Linda and by that I mean that if she dies the quest is over.

Linda Richtofen GENTLEWOMAN ADVENTURER Will never Die
>>
Cut-off in five minutes.

What the hell are you doing? Running away? Hiding? You are Linda Richtofen, GENTLEWOMAN ADVENTURER! You will proudly enter this inn and wait for your comrades in the common room! Yes, that's what you'll do. You burst through the door and proudly declare: ''Linda, GENTLEWOMAN ADVENTURER!, has completed her reconnaissance! I have divined that the optimal road to begin our quest is north road!''
The entrance hall is empty. You just said that for nothing. Fuck. On to the common room.

Said common room is...just fine. Huh, you could have sworn it was worse than that. Guess the staff had time to clean up and you didn't actually break anything. Anyway, Lance and Mel are sitting at a table in the back. You don't see the other two or the innkeeper.

1: Go talk to Lance (the knight)
2: Go talk to Mel (Old Elf)
3: Find the Shriek and the Wallflower
4: Find the innkeeper; since the damages are so small you might as well pay for the drinks.
>>
>>21692704
We only told clothes-are-for-squares chick that we were gonna met at the north gate. I wonder is she and the other are there and didn't tell Lance or Mel. We should ask them what they think is going on.

>Don't let me make to many decisions, I'm to much of a sneaky backstaby kind of guy for Linda.

''Are you ready for ADVENTURE comrade?'' ''I am always ready to further the cause of JUSTICE!'' answers Lance as he stands up dramatically. You wonder if he's doing the same thing you or or if he is actually like that. You hope it's the second one. ''Do you know the whereabouts of our other companions? I would like to leave fairly soon.'' ''Princess Aurelia left in a huff earlier, but the lady heather has gone to receive blessings for our noble quest.''

1: Oops, better go find her then.
2: Let's not, and say we did.
3: Meh, we can wait. She won't be gone long anyway.
4: Forget about the Shriek and talk to Lance more.
5: Talk to Mel; she appears to have already started drinking.

''In that case Linda, GENTLEWOMAN ADVENTURER!, shall retrieve our comrade post-haste. Wait for me here; I shall return in an hour!'' You head out back into the streets in search of the Shriek ( you've been calling ;her that so long you've forgotten her name) as quickly as possible.

1:Manual search.
2:Automatic Search

If manual search:
A: Go to the docks; she might have seen where you were going.
B: Go to the market; she might just be getting supplies.
C: Go find Heathers' temple thingy; she might know where the Shriek went.
D: Do something to attract a lot of attention so she can find you. It's genius!

You levitate up to the roof of the inn and try to think of a way you could attract the attention of the Shriek. The solution is obvious; it can be none other than fire. Therefore, you decide to write ''Come back to the inn, Shriek''
in the sky. With fire. You are very good with fire sorcery. You have put up what an observer from an other land would describe as a huge neon sign. After patting yourself on the back for your brilliant idea, you start to hear a commotion. And shouting. And stuff breaking. It looks like the citizens of Bag are panicking. What are you going to do about it?

1:Drop the flames and run away.
2: Meh, they can panic; now you KNOW the Shriek will see your message.
3: Drop the message and go looking ofr the Shriek conventionally.
