(Thought I forgot about you, /tg/? We have a story to tell! Sorry for missing out on Wednesday, I forgot Thanksgiving was yesterday and my family surprised me with travel plans, haha.)

Last we left our hero, he was standing out in the cruel Land of Sound night with the prone figure of Haru reaching up to beg for help.

Haru's eyes gaze up at yours for a moment before they slide backwards in his skull and he collapses from the pain inflicted by the rampaging monster that the two of you managed to drive off together. However, as you think about what to do the sound of distant roars and howls fill the sky. It appears the monsters have found quarry. You have the unpleasant feeling it may just be you. What shall we do?
>>
Grab Haru and haul ass back to the clinic. Hopefully, it's not too far out.
>>
>>21720715
Well, it's probably a bad idea to stick around here. And we can't let our brother die, at least not before we get a chance to talk.

Toss him over our shoulder and get out of there, the heavy smells from the bar/lounge/drughouse ought to confuse anything following us by scent.
>>
>>21720763
>>21720776

Picking your brother up, which was once a daunting task, is nothing before you now. His frame is so withered and weakened from the apparent years of abuse he has suffered that even you can carry him easily. You sprint to the clinic and hammer on the door, trying to get Hana to open the door. You hear her moving around inside as she looks through a crack somewhere and calls out, "Haru! What happened to him!?" She asked in panic as she opened the door and almost threw you inside as she closed the door with a slam.

As she puts Haru on the bed you hear the sounds of roars and thrashing figures from just beyond the door. With horror you look down at your feet and see, thanks to Haru's arm wound, a clean trail of blood leading back to this house. The door isn't looking too sturdy. You aren't exactly sure how many there are, but there sound like there are at least three or four. If they're anything like the last one...this could be rough.

You look back at Haru, seeing if he's in any condition to do anything. Whatever reserve of energy he drew upon to throw those shuriken apparently was his last as he is too busy vomiting into a basin and heaving on the table as Hana scrambles around him gathering medicine and bandages. They both are too busy to help. It's gonna be one on a few...

How should we approach this?
>>
>>21720763
>>21720776
Seconding this, and make sure to keep our eyes and ears open, those monsters wont just let us escape.
>>
>>21720833
Does this hospital have a second floor with windows? Get up there, shower it with kunai and then jump out. We may be able to lure them away from the hospital and loose them in the night.
>>
>>21720833
We might have a challenge here. We've been looking for a proper challenge.

We don't want to have the fight here, it's too open, too much collateral, they can gang up on us too easily.

So take another exit from the place, like through a high up open window and lead them on a merry chase through a forest or something like that where they can't surround us and we can use guerrilla warfare on them.
>>
>>21720863
>>21720864
So ultimately, get to high ground and draw them away from the clinic where we can lose them.
>>
>>21720864
>>21720863
>>21720892

With a quick word of comfort to Hana and her son you leap upstairs and open the window. Looking down you see a total of five of the monsters, one of them is licking up the blood and finally turns his attention to the door. Just as it lowers its head to attack you throw a barrage of kunai at them, trying to draw them away from the clinic.

(Roll 'em, lads. We're in perfect condition, so we're not going to enjoy the benefits of ETR. However, we are quite outnumbered. So we're rolling 6d10+9)

(That's pretty interesting. December 1st, right?)

You throw a barrage of kunai down atop the monsters, but their large spines, horns, and thick armor largely ignore any damage. However, they do notice you. A thunderous roar shakes the building and you take this opportunity to leap from the window and land about fifty feet behind them. Turning to see if they were following, and they certainly were, you sprint away from the clinic the beasts hot on your tail.

You finally stop running, pausing to catch your gasping breath, far away from the city and the den of scum and villainy. The creatures seem tireless as they draw closer. The forest is thick and filled with heavy old trees. There's almost no one around, and just as two of the creatures round a corner and roar, spotting you out, a heavy rain begins to fall.

(You have three rounds of Grit, full chakra and Injury. How's this gonna go down?)
>>
>>21721064
Get to cover and wait for the rain to really fall. The rain is S.O.P. for us, so we should be able to use it to move around and begin picking them off.
>>
>>21721064
Okay, try to get them into our genjutsu again. I hope we can draw several of them into the jutsu at once. Other than that we should keep our distance and try to take out immobilized genjutsu'd monsters by stabbing them in the eyes.

Agreed, genjutsu and then cover.
>>
>>21721064
We're alone out here right? We can't just Genjutsu them all, we'll run out of Chakra way too quick.

Play around with them some, make sure they're all here and we're in a very isolated place. Play cat and mouse with them, lead them somewhere wet harrying them as we go.

Then turn on Kekkei Genkai and murderize them.

>>21721123
Using the Kekkei Genkai could be risky. Maybe we should find whats her name? (Rin?). Also you have a point, its not as if we can mass-genjutsu with one attack

~~~You dip out of cover for a moment and lock eyes with one of the monsters. Its entire body freezes solid and it swoons on the spot before it starts swinging its limbs around in a panic, striking one of its comrades who roars angrily and pins the offender down and starts ripping his throat out. Those two seem very occupied with one another as the other three lumber into sight. ~~~
Shaking your head you clear the visions from your mind. That plan won't work out well. Your chakra isn't great, and your Genjutsu only affects a single foe that you can lock eyes with. The first two beasts begin advancing towards you, forming a pincer as they get ready to charge you.
Miwa would be very welcome here...but since she's not here, you are left in a very dangerous situation. You aren't sure if a hero will come swooping out of nowhere to save you this time. A small part of you almost wishes that...Father would come save you...
(Daisuke's complexes are starting to take control of him. Roll Determination. We need at least two successes to maintain our nerves)
>>
>>21721165
Oh, I must have missed that. Yeah I'll change my vote to this.
>>
>>21721165
I'd say we should do as much damage as we can without going croc. For this we will need the genjutsu, since our kunai apparently arent very good at killing those things.
>>
>>21721175
I'd roll but I can't remember what dice and how many I'd need.
>>
Rolled 2, 1, 3 = 6
>>21721175
Is it Det x rank? I'll roll that for now just in case it is
>>
>>21721220
This guy. d3 or what?
>>
Rolled 6, 5, 3 = 14
>>21721175
Really? We're having a mental break like this? Isn't this the sort of thing we've been training for?
>>
>>21721243
>>21721220
>>21721235
(Sure is. Nicely done. It's a number of D10 equal to the Stat used. So for this it would be 3d10. We are trying to roll a number of results equal to our Rank+2 or less, so for each result that comes up at 5 or less is a success.)
You gasp hard and shake your head. NO! No, no, no! You don't need Father. You don't need his help, and you don't need to prove yourself to him. You have strength for your own reason. You are powerful for yourself. You will show him, and you don't need his help.
Still, this is a very real problem. These monsters seem to be largely resistant to your kunai. At least, to your normal kunai. Father's gift may prove to have some greater effect, or, of course, there is your power. Though to draw your Kekkei Genkai out you need to spill another's blood and have it touch your skin.
>>
>>21721250
Well, technically we are still a ten year old genin. Hm, i wonder if we will ever have to take the chuuning test.
>>
>>21721250
>>21721278
(We've been training our bodies daily. But Daisuke hasn't really spent much time addressing his problems. So until he gets some in character resolution, or more Determination, he's going to be running into these little episodes every so often.)
>>
>>21721274
Okay, i suggest genjutsuing one, using the tanto to wound it when its immobilized, and then go ballistic in croc mode.
>>
>>21721274
I think to save on chakra we are better off using our higher speed to manuver around the remaining monsters to where the other was kill, grab a hand full of blood from it and dash into the distance having the rest follow us. Once we are somewhere secluded, rub the blood on our forehead and croc that shit up.
>>
>>21721274
Separate one from the group, drop down on it, stab it in the eye and transform grit to damage. We can use its blood for Massacre Blood.
>>
>>21721278
We're chuunin-equivalent right now.
>>
>>21721307
no monster was killed, us using the genjutsu was a delusion of daisuke.
>>
>>21721317
>>21721319
>>21721291
>>21721307
(The episode of the two tearing each other apart was us playing a scenario out where we used Genjutsu. It hasn't happened yet. If you want to slap a Genjutsu on it roll Genjutsu, which is 6d10, but instead of adding 9 to the roll we add 8 instead, because we're less trained in Genjutsu. To separate one off like that we'd need to use our Ninjutsu Knowledge.)
>>
>>21721319
I know. But are we a chuunin officially? In the source material you only become a chuunin through beating the chuunin test.
>>
>>21721317
Divide and Conquer. Hold off on the kekkei genkai for as long as possible and pick them off one by one. I imagine it'll be hard to go Killer Croc, rip one to shreds, then hide and draw away another one.
>>
>>21721332
Oh my bad. Ok well in that case I vote for >>21721317 I suppose. Assuming we can pull it off.
>>
Rolled 6, 6, 10, 6, 1, 8 + 8 = 45
>>21721332
eh, why not, hopefully it works.
>>
>>21721338
Officially, I don't think so. We're already one of the youngest individuals to ever pass the genin test.
>>
>>21721353
>>21721349
>>21721348
>>21721339
>>21721338
(Officially we are still a Genin. However, we are superior to other Genin in terms of training. We spent a month training hard every single day. That roll was for which action? Genjutsu, right?)
>>
>>21721367
Yeah. But i didnt see the others vote for using genjutsu, so it might not count... Got a bit over eager.
>>
>>21721367
I think whats winning at the moment is the initial part of divide, conquer and croc. Soooo we are voting to try and pick the off one by one by dividing the group.
>>
>>21721367
I'd rather not do Gen. If we do we won't have enough chakra for our kekkei genkai.
>>
>>21721477
I'm also against using more Gen at this point.
>>
>>21721451
>>21721477
>>21721451
>>21721385
(Seems like no one has any complaints. Guess we'll roll with it. I'll mix it with the other ideas.)
You throw a kunai at the one who emerges first at you, a shot that wasn't supposed to hit, just force it to cover itself up. As you planned the creature raises its arms over its face as you bolt past the one sneaking up behind you, slapping at it with your other kunai, inciting it into a chase. This is where you let your great speed take its place. You tear through the forest, weaving and bobbing as you hear the creature roar in frustration. After a few long minutes of chase you stop, turn and face the creature. It appears to be alone. Alright, a one on one. We can handle this guy. After all, you ARE the best there is. Your tale can't end here, you have so much to do. Gripping your father's kunai you face it down and as it roars.
Now you have the solo fight you wanted. How do we proceed here?
>>
>>21721477
Good call. I say we try to take them out without genjutsu and save our chakra for Beast Mode, and only use Beast Mode when shit hits the fan.
>>
>>21721493
anything in the environment we can use?
>>
>>21721451
I'm gonna quickly throw my vote in for not Crocing unless we have to. If anyone sees us, we HAVE to kill them.
>>
>>21721515
>>21721501
You're in a largely empty clearing with several trees on all sides. Nothing really sticks out as a great environmental weapon. No lucky pitfalls or cliffs around. This land is uncomfortably flat, which makes it good for things that like to charge. Like this monster. You take a closer look at your pursuer. The creature's gray armored skin clearly covers a human form and its long taloned hands were once human, you guess. Its legs are long and strong which allows it quadrupedal movement. It's impressive you were able to keep ahead of it, now that you think about it.
It looks like, unfortunately, you're going to have to fight straight up against this beast.
>>
>>21721493
Don't know much about the system, but i guess stabbing it is the easiest answer?
>>
>>21721493
Can we Genjutsu it?
>>
>>21721539
Tuant it, incite it to charge, and charge towards it ourselves but at the last moment, dodge around it and attempt to use our special kunai to stab it in the back of the neck.
>>
>>21721555
>>21721559
(You can certainly both stab it or Genjutsu it. However, our resources are somewhat restricted on Chakra, we only have 6 and it costs 4 to use a Genjutsu. It also costs 4 to use our Kekkei Genkai, should it come down to that.)
>>
>>21721539
Okayyyy. We have kunai, Dad's superspecialsnowflake kunai, a tanto... what's Hurricane Smash?
>>
Rolled 6, 8, 1, 2, 8, 7, 1 = 33
>>21721587
>>21721573
(Hurricane Smash is a melee attack that represents us using all of our muscle to smash into the target with all force and try to knock it backwards. If we are successful in dealing damage the creature suffers Knockback and is knocked onto its ass as well.)
You lean forward and whistle at the creature, throwing rocks and dirt at it before laughing. The creature was once human, it should take the bait. Sure enough, it lowers its head and you see two long horns on its back that it must use for charging. With a burst of speed it blitzes towards you.
(Now, we have to dodge for our life. My attack will be with this post. You need to roll 6d10+9 to Dodge it.)
>>
>>21721577
Then just bait it and knife-fight it.
>>
>>21721622
(I've got a total of 9 successes on the attack. You need to get 10 or more successes. That's not too hard with a +9 Success bonus. You just need a single success on the dice!)
>>
>>21721577
Stab it in a weak point. Use grit to add damage to the blow.
>>
Rolled 3, 10, 2, 1, 9, 9 = 34
>>21721622
Whoosh!
>>
>>21721622
Dodging
>>
>>21721587
Whatever. Play it like Muhammad Ali and dance around, hitting him when we can. He's big, so he can't be that fast. Keep taking potshots and staying out of reach, and eventually he'll slip up. When he does, hit him as hard as we can. We can't take too long about it either. There's another one of these things out there.
>>
Rolled 7, 4, 5, 2, 6, 9 + 9 = 42
>>21721633
okay..
>>
>>21721622
Ok then. Hurricane Smash to the face when we get the chance.
>>
Rolled 7, 8, 1, 2, 7, 10, 4 = 39
>>21721649
>>21721638
(Good stuff! You dodged it!)
You were waiting for this, however. Grabbing the horns you flip yourself over it, like you planned. Now, its back is exposed to you. Strike now, Daisuke!
(Now the attack! I'll take Socio-Econ's roll, which is a total of 12 successes. The creature needs to get 13 or higher. It adds +4 to its result. So basically it needs all successes)
>>
Rolled 5, 6, 4, 2, 9, 10, 4 = 40
>>21721656
(Nope! Not enough! Hurricane smash, successful!)
Seeing its prey gone it desperately tries to get away from you. However, again, you planned for this. Your foot hooks its horns as you pull it backwards and smash down with your Father's kunai onto its face.
(Ok, now we can activate a Follow-Up since we did so well. We have a lot of Grit, 10 total. You have 5 successes over the creature, so you can activate a "Critical Hit" on your Hurricane Smash and real deal the damage. But it will cost you 5 of your Grit)
>>
>>21721700
Do it. Finish him now, there's still one more.
>>
>>21721700
These things are difficult as hell to kill and hurt so I vote we crit it.
>>
>>21721700
Do it. Fuck it up something fierce.
>>
>>21721700
Yeah, do it.
>>
>>21721719
>>21721713
(Alright, damage time. For a kunai hit we add the base damage of a kunai, 2, plus our Taijutsu, 6, and then our Kunai Skill, which is 4. That totals up to 12 damage. However, we also get to deal Knockback. It moves a total of Rank+Taijutsu squares backwards, but since we're above it, we're driving it into the ground. It would move a total of 9 squares, dealing 3 damage per square, however since it's movement is stopped, it takes 5 damage per square instead. So 45+12+X. We deal a total of 130 damage to it.)
With all the force we can muster we smash downwards with a single mighty blow of our kunai, bringing all of our weight down on its neck. Hopefully this is where its armor is weakest.
The blood from the creature's neck explodes all over your hands as it is smashed into the ground. You stand up, heaving from effort, as you dislodge the kunai. Your Father's kunai...it seemed to hit a little harder than you expected. The creature on the ground's armor withered away, revealing a young man in his early teens under all of that armor. A tattoo on his forehead was all that remained of the armor. But he was extremely dead. You almost separated his head from his shoulders with that blow.
Covered in blood you feel the beast within you roaring, ready to be released. You could...but it would exhaust your Chakra reserves. It wants to go free. However, this roaring creature isn't the Swamplord, it's the Hunter. You hear the sounds of the other creatures catching up, though they are still distant. We could run.
Firstly, take a moment to really memorize that tattoo. Obviously we can't sit there studying it all day but take a good look.
Secondly, the hunter wants out, but what about the swamp lord? Could we take a moment to meditate until the mosters get there? See if we can draw the swamp lord out and have him take over instead? Seems like we should probably focus on one more than the other. If all else fails, RELEASE THE CRA-HUNTER...
>>
I'd like to point out what a valuable situation we have on our hands here. Infomation is king. This is why I said we should have a good look at the tattoo. When we get home we will undoubtably be debriefed on what happened. This isn't an official mission or anything but I still think the info about the tattoos would be important and would gain us praise.
"Sir, when in the land of rice patties, [stuff happened]. I also noticed that when killed, these monsters turned back into humans and all that remained was a tatto. Can I draw it for you? Of course, I am a good shinobi and had a good look at it."
Also if we use our swamp lord we can take these guys on. We are in a secluded area and we need to kill them anyway. We shouldn't run, they can smell us for god sake.
>>
>>21722242
It's not the Swamplord, though. It's the Hunter. I'm afraid that if we give in to the Hunter now, it will undo most of the progress we made into being a Swamplord.
>>
>>21722242
This guy knows what's up. I second his motion.
>>
>>21722321
Correct, the hunter wants out. This is also why I suggested taking a few moments before the enemy gets here to meditate. Doing so cuts off our chance to run but increases our chances to bring out the swamp lord. We've made contact before and we know we can do it. I'm fairly sure if we try we can bring him out, however it will require clam, focus and some meditation. The opposite of freaking the fuck out, getting angry and running etc.
This is another being within us. Two beings I guess, it knows we are in danger. The Hunter is more powerful and rage filled, thats why he showed up first. The Swamp Lord is patient and cunning, he'll show up if we chill out, and ask for a hand.
>>
>>21722379
Ok, meditate, then hide out and prepare to start beasting and feasting on these fools. Sounds like a plan.
>>
>>21722379
You make a good point. We don't want the Hunter out. It might lock us into that and we meditated for a month to the Swamp Lord going, and it fits us better.
We tell the Hunter to fuck off and break out the Lord, then we murderize the fuckers.
>>
>>21722645
You know, we could spend this time setting up traps.
>>
>>21721814
Don't let the Hunter out, it isn't the side of Massacre Blood we've been working on. The Swamplord is the one we want.
>>
>>21722657
We don't really have much in the way of tools for traps. No explosive tags, no wire etc. Unless some of it is implied (which I don't think it is). We also don't have a lot of time so we can't dig pitfalls etc.
>>
Nothing for it but hole up in a tree and mediate.
(Thank you for the bump and for your patience anyone who is still around! Let's keep this party going!)
You look around, hearing the sound of the approaching monsters. The Hunter is lurking, circling your consciousness, waiting to drag you under into the depths of a bloody rage. You know that it will grant you great power, but you don't want that power. You don't want to be a mindless monster. You want to call the power you know.
Climbing up into a tree you close your eyes and cross your legs, knowing the monsters are close, knowing that you wish to call for a power more yours than to give yourself to a beast. It's difficult to meditate at the best of times. However, now...it would be nearly impossible.
(Roll Determination. Then we'll add Kekkei Genkai Training. We need a total of 4 successes out of a possible 5. This is gonna be a toughie.)
Any chance of using Nindo to help with this?
>>
>>21724313
(Since it's Det related I will allow us to burn one of our Nindo as a special action to force this through.)
>>
>>21724342
If we fail the check I would say do it.
And we should probably up our Det next time we have MP to spend. It just ain't right for us to be walking around with 3 Det.
You feel the Hunter lunge in your mind, you feel its brutality and hate threaten to overwhelm you. But the brute is dragged into the depths of your subconscious by a sinister dark beast that surfaces on the edges of your consciousness and curls up. "Do you wish for my assistance?" It asks, a deep rumbling cold voice. You agree without a second thought.
The change takes you over. Your change starts at your feet which become scaled talons claws, elevated and resting on a broad pad made for stealth and speed...(Gain 3 Stealth, Double Movement Speed in Water and Rain)
Your musculature and form lengthen. A broad tail sprouts from your lower back and your shoulders thicken into knotted tight muscle. You lengthen to roughly seven feet in length from tail to legs, not counting your three foot tail. (Kunai Skills become Claw Skills. Taijutsu increases by 2).
The armored skin races up your body, transforming your face finally. Your nose sprouts outwards into a long crocodile maw, sharp teeth lining the heavy jaw. However, your profile is slimmer and your scales are black, but extremely strong...(Mundane DR increased to 15, base damage increases to 8)
Finally, and most importantly, a mind older and more instinctual than yours merges with yours. The Swamplord, a king of a domain that stretches endless miles, rules without laws but with absolute authority. (Knowledges increase by 1 each, can make a Knowledge Check as a Partial Action).
Finally, the transformation is complete. Your clothes and equipment are laying strewn about in the tree, safe for now. They arrive, three hulking monsters, looking for you. They find the body of their comrade, but they don't see you dwelling in the trees.
>>
>>21724427
They are completely unable to see or hear you. The dark scales, your perfectly designed body for stealth allowing you to negotiate the tree without making a single sound. But now, how do we remove these invaders in our kingdom?
A) Drop onto them from above and rip their neck.
B) Sneak up on one of them at a time and take them down.
C) Challenge them head on and rip them to pieces
D) Strike from the shadows in an ambush-rush attack to destroy them.
>>
B.
We are the silent Lord of the Swamp. They shall turn to find their companion gone without a trace. They shall know fear, they shall die.
Also tell the Swamplord "It's good to see you again. I expect this to be the beginning of a long and fruitful relationship. You're much more interesting than the Hunter."
>>
>>21724444
Batman would be proud.
Also after we disintegrate these dudes, we should take a cut of a head rune instead of just attempting to memorize, sure a analyst-nin could use it better.
They walk like pack animals, you think. Despite their roaring and their rages, they are afraid. They fear the rain and what it can hide. A clap of thunder lights up the area for a moment and one of them lets out a mix between a feeble roar and whimper before finding itself removed of a gullet as you rip away its neck without mercy.
The second one doubles back and runs off alone. Too easy. A bite to the inner thigh from your incredible jaws causes blood to explode in your mouth as you drag him down, the armor cracking under the weight of your heavy claws as you slash at his stomach, your tail smashing his knees to powder.
The final one tries to run for it, and he's fast. However, the chase only excites you more as you drop onto all fours and charge after him, despite your great speed you remain silent, slipping from tree trunk, to branch, to ground again before finally you grab him, but nowhere fatal, you snag him by the ankle and pull his feet out from under him. He thrusts at you with a spear-claw. You bite through it and rip his arm off before opening his chest up.
Slithering back through the rain, leaving red prints that fade as water soaks your claws, you approach the young man with the head tattoo and remove his head with a snicker-snack.
The Swamp Lord maintained his silence in your mind as you drove, pushed on by his predatory knowledge and instinct. However, you feel your bond with him weakening as you realize the connection you hold with your Kekkei Genkai is too weak to hold this form for more than what you've just done, about twenty or thirty odd seconds. Your body shifts and mutates painfully back to your normal self. You gather your garments and dress, rearm yourself, and set out, the man's head under your arm, and the wetness of the rain washing away the evidence in a mud-slick. To all who would find them it would look like they tore one another up.
>>
>>21724479
Also it might be worth it to use Taijutsu knowledge on these guys. We can do it as a Partial Action, and considering our current Taijutsu 8, the 4 Taijutsu knowledge due to Swamplord and the +3 from Jack-of-All-Trades we have a damn good chance of succeeding.
>>
>>21724574
Excellent. All is well with the world.
Okay, let's get back to the doctor's office, we have some words we need to exchange with people.
I'm pretty sure we should head out back home in the morning. We've done some surveillance, got some information, and whoever set this up is likely to notice that something is up real soon so we should get back with what we have instead of risking not getting back at all and coming in confrontation with whoever set this up, because anyone with the resources to take over this Nation/Village and make these guys is not to be fucked with, probably has several Ninja on staff.
You return to the clinic, knocking on it as the rays of the sun peak overhead. You were running for hours, it seemed. Though the actual fight lasted only seconds, it was a multi-hour effort.
The door opens and Haru is standing there, his arm bandaged but almost perfectly healed. Behind him, Hana lays sleeping. He looks down at you and sighs, "I guess you probably want to talk, Daisuke. I owe you that much." he said and led you away from the clinic, away from the town, wordless the entire time.
You both finally stand alone in a field of rice paddies on all sides. He stretches out his arms, his bandaged arm seeming quite functional for being snapped in half only a night ago. "Now. Ask away."
>>
sweet!, been waiting for this thread to start up lolz. I take it we're heading back to the hospital now
"You disappoint me. You lied to me.
You said that if I grew strong I could meet you as an equal. Just by looking at you I can tell that isn't going to happen any time soon.
Maybe I should never have came here. At least then I could still look up to you.
What happened? How did my big brother, the one who told me that hard work made you strong end up like this? Why does mom think you're a 'hero'? Should I even call you my brother after tonight?"
>>
>>21724674
tell me everything I guess, from the beginning. *smack him in the head* what in the hell happened to all your training??
>>
>>21724723
>>21724734
He sighed, "Daisuke, it's stuff you wouldn't understand. It would take years for you to grow up enough to see what Mom and I have been through. You're a kid. Yes, you're a big shinobi and I'm proud of you for it, but you're still just a boy. Daisuke..." He said with a sigh, "There's more to life than being a shinobi. There's more to life than being a weapon for someone to pay to wield." He said and knelt in front of you, "Look...I know you hate me. I know you probably are disgusted by me. But...I can give you a chance to understand. I can show you what happened. I can help you become free, to grow up, in a way that you never would back in Amegakure." He said and put his hand on your shoulder, "Stay with me and Mom. If you stay with us, I promise, I will educate you as a man and a person, and you can...." He hesitated, "You can train, with me, so that I can keep my end of the promise. Come on, Daisuke...how about it?"
>>
>>21724777
"No. I like Amegakure, I like the rain. I can't abandon my life there, I have found my place there. I have earned a place there.
I can do things there that I can't accomplish here, I can be in the company of those stronger than me and I can work hard for them, I can exceed their high expectations. Here, I won't grow strong.
Why should I respect you? You became a drugged up washout and for some reason mother still thinks you're a hero. You're rustier than your sword was.
I won't be happy here."
>>
>>21724777
no, why would you all such a thing? for years I've trained to be your equal and I've come to find recently you've given up on every thing. what can you teach me about being an adult? look at you...
>>
>>21724840
>>21724870
He sighed. "Yeah... you really are Dad's son. Go back to Ame. Come back here again, and I'll kill you, Daisuke. Don't talk to me or Mom again." he said and with that he walked away from the field, his hands behind his head, not a care in the world as he strolled back to the clinic.
Left without anything to do you walk back to the town and find Miwa, who asks, "So, was that woman your mother?" She asked gently as she looked at you, the old woman she had been staying with seemingly very sad at the notion of Miwa leaving.
>>
>>21724923
No.
>>
>>21724923
"no, I don't know who they were..."
make sure we have that head, we've still got work to do.
(well that's depressing..)
>>
>>21724923
"It doesn't matter, now. All I have is Amegakure."
>>
>>21724923
"What are you supposed to call someone that you haven't seen in four years? I have spent half of my life without her and I don't remember much of the time before that.
I can barely remember her face. She was the woman who gave birth to me, but honestly, you and Rin are more of my Mother than she is now.
I don't blame her, she didn't have much of a choice in the matter, but my Mother is Amegakure."
>>
>>21724923
We should kill both of them before we leave. We can't allow two bloodlines to fall into enemy hands.
>>
>>21724923
Miwa gently rests her hand on your head and sighs, "It's ok, Daisuke. It's better to move forward." She says and gently gives you a hug before standing up, "Come along little one, we have to go home." She said and after bidding farewell to the old woman she walks with you into the street and looks around. "This place is a dark place...I sometimes feel alone and lost in Amegakure, but this...is a nightmare world. Whatever creature runs this place must be a foul figure indeed."
This is your last chance to do anything here in the Land of Sound on this mission. Anything you want to do still?
>This is your last chance to do anything here in the Land of Sound on this mission. Anything you want to do still?
>>21724978
>>
>>21724978
I'd rather not. It just seems rude and slightly petty to kill them, and our mother did nothing wrong to us. We've severed ties with them, that's enough for me.
>>21725001
Make sure we have the head, make sketches of the creatures/engineered people before we go, before they fade from our memory.
Give Miwa a hug on our own, maybe grab a snack like dango or takoyaki if we can find a place.
>>
>>21725017
na I fear daisuke will lose himself if that.
>>
>>21725017
I really don't think that's in character for Daisuke. He may be gravely disappointed, but I don't think he's cold enough to kill his own mother and brother for the possibility that they have a bloodline limit they're most likely incapable of using.
I think we should just head home, turn in the head and report on the state of things in Sound.
>>
>>21725052
Sometimes it's worth loosing yourself to find your Mother's Love. And what more can we do for Amegakure then kill two missing-nin?
>>
>>21725108
1 missing Nin. Our mother isn't a Ninja by any stretch of the imagination, and honestly I'd hardly call Haru a Ninja any more.
>>
>>21725017
>>21725035
>>21725052
After securing the head, quickly doing a bad drawing of those monsters, and giving Miwa a rather awkward hug of our own, we buy something for the road and saddle up, returning back to the rains of Amegakure.
When you return there you find the apartment is spotless as always and your Father is not at home. However, on the table, he's left some money for you and a small note.
"Daisuke, this mission I'm going on will take me a great deal of time. I may not see you for several years, in fact. And though I have been sent on this mission, remember that I do want you to succeed and become the best you can in this world. -Your Father, Shirogane."
Odd. In the years you've known your Father his severity and cold demeanor stiffled any attempts at affection a younger you conjured. Now, however, it seems he's become far more receptive of you. A knock soon follows on the door. Standing at the door is Rin, hand on her hip as she sometimes was prone to with her head cocked a little and a kind voice coming through the mask.
"Daisuke. Welcome home." She says, simple frank honest words. But they mean more to you than you could possibly know. She reaches out and puts her heavy glove on your head and kneels to face you. "Daisuke. I know you just got back, but we have a mission for you. And frankly, it's not going to be one that you're going to enjoy." She said, and you can hear a great deal of emotion heavily restrained.
"The village has....outsourced you. You're on retainer for the Magamo Zaibatsu for the next five years." She said with a flat voice. "There are a lot of conditions to it, but, for the short of it, you're going to work for a company for the next five years in a bodyguarding role. There's an executive who wants a shinobi bodyguard to double as her son." She explained and looked at you.
>>
>>21725172
"There's no real way to avoid this. Honestly, the Daimyo himself was paid for this. This mission was almost an order to Hanzo himself. It reeks of suspicion to me. The Zaibatsu is one of the wealthiest industrial groups in Amegakure, but they targeted you specificaly." She said flatly as she brushed past you and sat down on the couch, looking at you as she steepled her fingers. "What do you think?"
>>
>>21725182
"That's really suspicious, but there is no real way to change this. It's also a long time, and there's also something that happened when I was away"
>>
>>21725182
Ah, fuck. Our opinion. Don't freak out.
"Is there any reason they would focus on me?" And, if we can, enter Or brother's room and clean it, stripping the bed and put anything inside it away. Our brother is dead. Let us find something to do with the room. Another training location?
>>
>>21725182
"This is rather weird. Not that I have much choice. Any more information on what's up? Why me? Is it because I'm the only 10 year old around they consider competent enough?
This is going to cut into my training schedule isn't it?
Okay, when is the assignment going to start? I have a few things I'd like to take care of first. I found some weird stuff in the Land of Rice Patties that should be conveyed to the higher ups and I'd like to get a kusari-gama.
Oh, and it's good to be home."
Also give her a hug, try not to call her mom, fail.
>>
>>21725234
Nah, she's not mom. She's older sis. We killed mom's son and she went with us to see to strangers.
>>
>>21725182
"5 years doing nothing... 5 whole years...what else can go wrong? at least I can fit in an extreme training regime in my breaks. what will you do in the mean time?" explain to her all that happened
>>
>>21725234
>>21725198
>>21725213
"No, there are a few ways to change this. None of them are particularly amicable." She explained and you could almost see the nightmarish things Rin would be thinking of doing to get this done. It may just be better to go along with it.
"I can think of one good reason. Your Bloodline." She said simply. Then she shrugged, "The other reason, of course, is your graduation age, your Father's legacy, and your impressive track record at this age." She said. When you tell her that you want to do these things she rises. "Daisuke, I don't think you really understand. I wasn't clear. You are going to live in this woman's house, under her rule, in the clothes she wants you to wear, attending her events, and making sure that she is safe at all times around the clock. You are going to be both son and shinobi. This will cut your training time to ribbons." She said, using hyperbole for once. "You are going to be very busy for the next six years, and not in a way you'll like. You'll be well paid, of course, but you don't care about money. They want you to report there this evening. I'll turn this stuff in to the village, but remember, Daisuke, keep your head up and your eyes open." She said and gathered the recorded notes and the head and sealed them into a scroll. "Now, I am to escort you. So let's go."
(And I gotta crash here tonight guys. Tune in tomorrow for our continuation, since I missed out on Wednesday. Same Ninja Time, same Ninja Channel!)
>>
>>21725245
We can have two mothers, neither of which is related to us in any way. We're screwed up, we're allowed to latch onto people. Besides Satori is big sis.
Also we didn't kill Mom's son, our Father did, we're just complicit in his death.
>>
>>21725269
Can we clean clone techniques beofre we leave because SCREW destroying our training time.
>>
>>21725269
Our poor training time. Our poor poor training time. Our dearest and oldest friend.
We're even going to have to call someone who isn't strong Mom.
We'll have to sleep in soft beds, socialize with rich people, wear clothing that isn't completely utilitarian. We won't even be able to do our own cleaning, and the people who will clean might get it wrong.
Worst assignment evar.
>>
>>21725269
good cuz I'm passing out! lolz thanks for tonight kuma
>>
>>21725290
Maybe we can train instead of sleeping. We don't need more than 2 hours of sleep a night, right?
>>
Poor noblewoman, if she thinks Daisuke could conceivably pass for a young noble she is going to be severely dissapointed.
>>
We could have a water clone or something working on forms and meditation when we're busy with guard duty.
And we've got to work on faking emotional responses and childlike behavior.
>>
Unfortunately, the only clone that gives experiences back to the user are shadow clones.
However, we could make a water clone that would be acting as us, and we could go train.
>>
>>21728010
You sure about that? I thought shared experiences worked for all but basic clones.
I've not read the manga in ages so I could be way off here.
>>
>>21728010
I was more thinking of replacing ourselves with a clone and then we go out to train.
>>
>>21728165
Yeah, it was a KISHI...moment when I found out. Basically, he needed a macguffin or Naruto would be fucked...so he said shadow clones gave memories back, then never used it again.
>>
Do we even know how to make water clones, or any sort of clones?
>>
>>21729299
Well, he never said elemental clones dont give memories back and explicitly mentioned that the clone techniques had been developed for disposable scouting. So i guess it can be stipulated that elemental clones arent different from shadow clones in the memories department.
>>
>>21729547
Well, I was assuming that when he said the clone techniques were for disposable scouting it was more along the lines of "Oh, what's that? My clone didn't come back? There must be an enemy in that direction, then."
>>
>>21729718
Well, i thought it was about: "Oh, my clones died? Mhm, that dude used lightning jutsu. Better use wind techniques against him."
You can perfectly scout without endangering yourself, thats what the clones are for.
