Black Friday has come to an end and I have free time to push this trainwreck further still.

Also, thanks to everyone for voting the threads to the epic status. It warms my twisted little heart.

Anywho, the way this goes down is I type up a whole lot of shit while I listen to your input. Sometimes I'll ask for direct input, and other times I'll just keep moving forward while shaping my walls o' text with the suggestions you make.

Occasionally, I will call for a roll. The way I use dice in this quest involves you, the participants, trying to beat a certain target number in a limited amount of posts.

When I say "13 or higher in 4 rolls", it means that each post following that request with a dice roll attached is one roll. If any of those posts meet the target number, it is a pass. Otherwise, it fails.

Target number and number of tries is kind of arbitrary, and sometimes based on the supposed difficulty and intricacy of the task involved.

Ah, this again. Time to see just how many people I can get to listen to the devil on our shoulder.

After a rather busy morning of enticing people to come buy everything Mr. Gulcano and then convincing Danny the ex-bandit catgirl to join you in your quest to break the curse of the dress and return to normal and then buying her a new dress from a Tau merchant, you have rejoined your parents at the Bazaar. You have some time to shop around and you have a day or two to wait before you will be granted audience with Gulcano's Wizard contacts.

Your Father is interested in finding canvas for a portrait he wish to do of you and your Mother, but seeing as you don't have any other obligations for the day, this also gives you the chance to peruse the wide, wide variety of interesting things on display at Arisca's weekly bazaar. Millia and Danny seem keen to tag along, not that you think she has any where else to be, and not that you'd let Danny go and run off, considering who she used to be.

Now that the initial rush of shoppers has subsided, the bazaar is seeming a little calmer, although hundreds of people still move about around you. Arisca is a large city and even a slow day here would still be loaded with with more people than your entire village, you imagine.

You take a moment to drink it all in. The adventurousness of it all is so exciting to you. All the travelers and adventurers and peoples of all kinds just mingling about casually. Noble looking Elves conversing with rugger Dwarves. Brutish Orcs haggling with elegant Tau. Little marching Tama flags weaving between groups, while towering Giants carefully stride around all of them. It's like another world entirely, compared to your home town.

We talked with some Tama.
Worked the crowds some more.
Got up on some crates and started to give into the dress before snapping out of it and becoming overwhelmed by confidence and regal disposition, commanding the crowds to come and buy shit. And they did.
The Bandit we catgirl'd found us. She was a wreck, physically and mentally.
We took her aside to a place where we could talk and wash her up.
Turns out her old bandit crew tried to have their way with her.
After some lengthy debating, we eventually decided to take her under our wing and force her down the path of redemption, else we'll punish her and leave her to the gutters for someone else to have their way with her.
Then we took her shopping for new clothes, since she shredded the dress we gave her.
Tau merchant got her set up with a black china dress, which apparently the current Tau fashion.

A certain stand catches your eye and you nudge your party towards it. From afar, it just looked like a book-stand, but it was even better than that. Display about the stand were books of all sizes and thicknesses, each expertly bound in leather and ornately decorated with engravings and patterns. Some of the more pricey ones even had gems and decorative metal elements inlaid upon their covers. Like a blank spellbook, you think, waiting to be filled with arcane knowledge.. You almost wish you could get them pre-worn and dusted, just to get that extra kick out of setting it down and cracking it open.

You browse through them, enraptured by the possibilities. The things you could fill them with.. You eyed some of the larger ones, imagining them dominating an entire table as wise scholars pour over the works of the illustrious Roger Smith, Legendary Grand Master Wizard.

"Ahh! Hey hey, stall girl! Done working for Gulcano already?" the bookbinder greets you with a smile on his face. He's an older human, but unlike Gulcano, whose wealth is obvious by his girth, this man is clearly a craftman, wearing simple cloths and a work apron. "I've helped him sell everything her brought with him, so I'm free for the day," you explain politely. "So, looking for a book, then? What are you looking to record?" you trace your fingertips over the swirling, knot-like patterns of one of them, "I was thinking I could use a journal.." your parents were watching. You didn't want to say you wanted a spellbook.

With the advice of the Bookbinder, you settle on a modestly sized, sturdy book. Not too large or dense, so as not to weigh you down, while traveling with it, but still enough to record plenty of stories. He is kind enough to add in an enchanted quill for only a few coin more. It's the kind that stays full of ink all on its own, without any need for dipping. They were used widely in Arisca, apparently. "Anything for a pretty girl." he admits as you exchange payment for the book.

You take it in your arms and hug it to your chest. You'll definitely have to make time tonight to start filling it will everything that's already happened in this past week alone. That's a rather drab diary for a young lady.. You ignore the dress, as best you can. This is not a diary. It's a journal! A chronicle of Roger Smith's struggles and victory over the evil cursed dress followed by his meteoric rise to legendary status. And after that story ends prematurely, you can write about Dorothy's struggles with being a beautiful young woman on the other two-hundred pages.

You crack open your new book and sign your name on the inside cover. "Roger D. Smith" it reads. You did so as a reminder of your goal. Despite everything you'd experienced up until this point, with Millia, with your magic, you wanted to reaffirm that you intended to break free of all this girl stuff.. At least, that's what you believed you wanted, right? The dress wanted to mess with you. It wanted to make you doubt yourself and give in.

You try to recall that feeling from before. The overflowing confidence. The feeling that let you stand above a massive crowd and decree to the crowd like a Que- Like a King. A King. You will stifle the dress's whispers, you tell yourself. You don't need to outshine Millia or Danny, or draw everyone's eye by having the biggest bust. Although you certainly could.. Especially after all the practice you got last night. Your face lights up, blushing brightly with sudden embarrassment.

"Roger?" your mother called out, breaking you from your internal debate. "Your father spotted a place that should have canvas. Would you like to come along?" You nod and hurry to follow along, Millia and Danny shortly behind you.

The exchange is quick and soon your Father is toting a large canvas. He exchanges some playful remarks with your Mother, regarding the amount of detail he intends to splay across it, to which he remarks that he has his was of chronicling his adventures, just like Roger does.

The sun hangs low in the sky. There's a few more hours of daylight left, and you imagine the bazaar will close once it does. You can probably still squeeze in a few more shops before then.

Your party meanders through the bazaar. You still wanted to see everything else it had to offer, even if you weren't interested in armor tailored for giants, or antiques of questionable origin and unknown power being offered by shady men.

You eventually pass by the Tau dressmaker again, and you point out several of the dresses to your Mother. You take a moment, breaking away from your party to admire them, as Mother and Daughter. She idly comments how nice you might look in one, but it's too bad the dress interferes. You consider urging the dress to change shape, but instead insist that you can visit this tailor's shop after you've been uncursed and get something more suitable for a young man. She smiles proudly at you for that.

You pass a few weapon stands later on and Danny nervously asks if she might get a new blade, especially after she lost her last one. Millia, keeping up the lie of being Danny's friend says, "I'll have to see if I'll have enough to spare for you, considering how much you owe me already.." Danny shrinks back a bit. In a whispered aside, Millia tells Danny that she'll have to prove her loyalty before she is given any sharp pointy objects.

The sun is starting to set by now. You are heading towards the exit of the Bazaar when you see a stall you did no see before. It is selling what you can only describe as wizard apparel. Elaborate robes and coats, all hung on levitating stands that keep their bottoms from touching the ground.. and hats. Enormous steepled hats! Your heart skips a beat. There isn't anything more wizardly than a proper steepled hat...

You hurry over to the stall and begin examining and checking each and every one. Respectable clothing befitting of a Wizard.... you stop for a moment and try to gird yourself against any sudden urges or magic. You've been through this before, you think, you won't be caught off guard again.

Nothing happens though. No other whispers. No changes.

You resume browsing and eventually come to the hats. You lift one up, a classic, black conical one that comes to a point and droops back a bit. You go to place it atop your head, but stop. The flower wreath.. You set the hat down and gently lift the flowers from your head. Your Father, having followed you in, extends a hand and offers to hold it. "Wouldn't want to crush that, now would we?" he examines it for short while, "It appears as if it hasn't even begun to wilt.." he remarks.

You hadn't noticed, but you were preoccupied anyways. You place the hat atop your head and adjust it, excited to see yourself in the mirror. You were admiring the fine cut of the hat and the way it's wide brim rested atop you slightly pointed ears. You hated to admit it, but it gave you a certain cute quality..

You had been wearing the hat for a minute or so before you realized you had just added a piece of clothing to your outfit and the dress hadn't done anything. It hadn't altered it, or draped it in frills or anything. Did it want this? Were you pleasing it by wearing this hat? Perhaps this was okay? A lady should be allowed to wear a hat, so as to protect her skin from the sun, you think. That sounds like a reasonable excuse, right?

You cautiously try on a few more, checking the way they look on you, sizing them to find one that doesn't just cover your whole head.

"Why the interest in hats, son?" You peer over at your father as you don a green one, "I've just got this wizardy sort of itch.. It's been on my mind a lot." your father nods, stroking his beard, "I can tell. You've had quite an interest in magic since this whole dress thing started. Would that be the reason for the journal, also?" you laugh nervously but admit it, "Well, I was thinking it would be neat to have a spellbook.. but I really did want a journal to record everything also.. Maybe magic is where I should be focusing?" your Father doesn't say anything.

He picks up a blue hat and plucks the other one from your head, then sets the blue one with a white cloth band in its place. It fits perfectly in more than one way. Not too large or small, not overly garish or too plain. He slips the wreath of flowers over the steeple of the hat, sitting in place at the base of the hat. He smiles warmly and says, "My treat." before heading over to find the shop owner to pay.

They shake hands firmly and she thanks him for his business. With that, your parents take the lead and guide your party to The Feisty Penguin, the Tavern and Inn where you will be staying for the next few days.

From the outside, the Feisty Penguin is a sizable building, compared to it's neighbors, with four levels to it. From where you stand on the street, you can hear a rather lively ruckus inside. Upon opening the doors, you are hit with a wall of music and shouting voices and indistinguishable white noise.

Inside is an tavern, filled wall to wall with people. Like everywhere else in the city, you can see a wild variety of all species, most of them travelers and adventurers, from what you gather by the well-worn clothes, armor, and weapons all of them are carrying. There are even a number of Bards, playing with a variation of the Orator's Megaphone cantrip aiding their performance, carrying their playing through the room, but not drowning out the conversation.

"A few drinks before we call it a night?" Millia suggests, adding in, "Not like you'd be able to paint tonight with such a brouhaha below you, right?" Your Father agrees, reluctantly, but admits that the lighting will be better tomorrow morning. They suggest you drop off your things upstairs before you head to the bar. Don't want to lose your book, or anything else you value amongst all this merrymaking.

You make your way across the room, to the stairs in back, where you ascend two flights of stairs before reaching the rooms. Your Father hands you a key and keeps one for himself. The room itself is rather plain, only sporting two modest beds, a table, a bathroom, and a window door that a balcony.

You drop off your possessions, leaving most of your coin aside, just in case it gets stolen, and leaving your Journal, Halberd, and cloak aside. Millia insists on holding the key, because you can't hold your booze too well, and she can make sure that no one can get it. She refuses to explain how she intends to do that.

"Now, about yourselves.. I thought you were retired?" Your parents shake their heads, "We're on a brief quest with our son. We have some things we need to get sorted out and Arisca was the best place to do so." Arthur glances around, "Where's your boy at?" They don't hesitate to gesture to you. Fade to black 1 was definitely better than fade to black 2. I think this one kind of missed the point in a way. I'm not sure if you plan to revisit these and include them in the full story, but I'd rewrite it just to get better at it.

As someone else mentioned it's written more about the fetish than the experience, and I don't think it fits. It's important to remember this is Roger's second night, a night that should be more about reinforcing what he experienced in the first scene, just embellished slightly. The scene should be written more around that. Second verse same as the first.

Luckily, you have a wonderful mechanism to fit that theme, and I definitely believe it should be used. It just should play more to his interaction with Millia. She should, and I believe would have, played with Rogers intermediary body far more. Let him soak up the experience and feel the difference this kind of body has. And the scene should have been about that process.

I also think her comment about bondage was a little out of line. Even if she does want to experiment with that, I think she knows better than anyone that she will have time to do so. Time to tempt Roger into making those kind of decisions for himself. Let him think of where to take it. Any suggestions she make should be soft and subtle, and never quite so direct as a full blown request. Any good succubus suggestion leaves the recipient with the feeling that it was his own idea.

Just my vague 2 cents with this text allotment.

Well, this managed to happen while I was asleep, and I'll be heading to work before it can become relevant again, so I'll toss the idea down now:

Our parents know that we're considering wizardry. We should play that up. Make us no longer have to hide that Milla knows some small spell and is teaching us - you can learn all sorts of shit as an adventurer, as they well know - and instead throw ourselves into it.

At first it should be just learning how to use the Dress's power, but we should learn how to tap our own magical reserves as well. The ability to, say, counterspell or toss down a binding spell would be useful, yes? Obviously it's going to take some time to match the Dress in power, but the ability to mitigate its shenanigans should definitely be considered.

One, I fully acknowledge that fade to black 2 was kind of lousy. That has a lot to do with me writing a large portion of it at 3 in the morning and doing so just to get it done. Even as I was posting it last night, I was thinking about going back and redoing it.

Secondly, if possible, keep some of the side discussions limited. We had several dozen posts on Fae rules and whether or not drinking rubbing alcohol is toxic. That's neat and all, but it also pushes the thread closer to auto-sage, which can mean the thread could die between story posts.

"If it isn't our little mascot girl!" the man beside you raises his stein to you. It takes you a moment, but you recognize him as one of Gulcano's workers, "I don't know how you got roped in to working for that fat skinflint, but you did damn good out there today, girly. Lemme buy you a drink, yeah? No strings attached, I promise." he flags over one of the bartenders with ease and you order one of the local brews, Millia asks for a glass of wine, and Danny is about to order, but Millia calls for a glass of milk for her. "The fuck!? Thanks fer nothinyaaa.."

You raise your drink to the worker, "Cheers." he nods and raises his in return. You strike up a little small talk, explaining that it was just a one day deal and that your business with Gulcano is almost concluded. He bemoans the loss of such a great shopgirl, but admits that you don't want to get tied up working for him anyways.

He gulps down the last of his drink and says his goodbyes. More work in the morning, he explains.

Once he leaves Danny gives you a stiff hip-bump, "Chattin' up guys fer free drinks, huh?" You steady yourself, "He offered a drink to me. Nothing manipulative about that." Danny snorts at you, "If I want ta drink anythin' tonight, all I've gotta do is get someone else to give it to me, huh? S'not stealin' that way~nyaa."

Danny knocks back the last of her milk and wipes her mouth clean, "I'mma go get all the free drinks I want. Don't worry 'bout coverin' me tonight." she does her best sexy walk, which still isn't terribly good, out into the crowd.

You hurry through the tavern, following the direction she went and keeping an eye out for anyone who might already have a catgirl in their lap. You ignore them for now, not too concerned with your celebrity status.

You finally spot her and feel relieved that she apparently hasn't tried to pry the drink from someone's hand or taken to begging at their table.. Then you notice who she is chatting up for a drink. Towering over Danny and looking somewhat confused is the same Asuran man who you bumped into earlier today.

As you move to sit with Hekaton and Danny, you can already tell that you are attracting attention. It seems to be your fate to draw every eye in the room where ever you go.
