Last time on Mobile X Destiny, the festival truly began as Anon-kun and company helped maintain the stall with Sayuri. Sayuri pointed out how Sora was nowhere to be seen, despite the girl saying she'd be there. Not letting herself get caught in a dark place, Sayuri urged Anon-kun to go out and enjoy the festival while there was still daylight, and he did. Anon-kun didn't encounter any of the other girls around the festival, but he did encounter Tadashi. The upperclassman grinned and told Anon-kun that he needed a wingman, and that he'd be perfect for the job.

"Wingman?" you ask. "What exactly do you mean?"

"It's simple," Tadashi says. "I need someone to back me up with something, and you're the one that's gonna help."

"Okay," you say, following him as he makes his way through the festival crowds. "But what exactly am I helping you with? I can't do all that much without knowing something."

"You're right." Tadashi turns to you and sighs. "There's this girl I've encountered," he explains, "And I was thinking of talking to her. It's nice to have some backup in the event things go sour."

You look at Tadashi. "Really? I never would've suspected that you'd need some sort of safety net like that. You don't see the type."

Tadashi looks offended. "I don't NEED one," he says, "I just like to have it. Besides," he adds, "If it doesn't work out, we can find something else to do. At least until you get dragged away by one of the girls."

He has a point. The girls will eventually pop up again, and until now, you haven't had anything to do. Then again, you might not want to deal with this sort of stuff right now; you're a bit on the fence with this.

"Alright," you say. "Let's do this." You follow closely behind Tadashi and approach a group of girls. You watch Tadashi start chatting the girls up, and you stand beside him, not really saying much, but instead providing morale support by merely being there. You listen to what he says, and he seems to be doing well with the girls, from what you can tell.

"...And yeah, I'm terrible. This is Anon-kun," he says, gesturing to you.

"It's nice to meet you, Anon-kun." You're caught off guard. "I think I've seen you around school before," she says. You realize you didn't catch her name, and you feel terrible.

"It's nice to meet you, too," you say carefully. "I'm surprised you've noticed me, to be honest," you say diplomatically. Realistically speaking, you don't stand out all that much, except for maybe the girls that hang around you. You try your best to avoid unwanted attention without realizing it, so you're genuinely surprised that this upperclassman noticed you.

"It's kinda hard to miss you," she says laughing. "You have all those girls around you all the time."

"Yeah," you say laughing as well. "I guess so."

You fade from the conversation for a bit, letting Tadashi take over again. When it's all said and done, you're standing there next to Tadashi, and he pats you on the shoulder. "Thanks for that, Anon-kun."

"I didn't really do that much," you say with a shrug. "I'm glad I could help, though."

You realize there's not a lot to do now.

You decide your time is best spent with Tadashi, so you hang out with him a bit more. The two of you hang out a bit, wandering from one end of the festival to another. On the second pass through, you see Sayuri surrounded by three guys. You instantly recognize the guys as the ones that had bothered the poor girl all those times before. You exchange a glance with Tadashi and frown. He nods, and the two of you approach the scene carefully.

"...where that guy is, but you're alone again. You should've known he couldn't be around you all the time."

Sayuri whimpers. "Why can't you just leave me alone?" she asks. "I haven't done anything to you."

"Because," the lead guy says, "You're so small, of course. Imagine how you might be if you would befriend us."

"I don't want to know," she says. "Just leave me alone."

You decide to stand back and watch the scene unfold some more. Tadashi glances at you, but follows your lead.

"I don't think you understand," the guy says, reaching down and touching her shoulder. "I think that you should rethink your stance."

"No," Sayuri says. "Get away from me." She holds her hands up, and she takes a few steps back, and you wonder if you see a measure of what you think is fear in her eyes. The three guys move in towards her, and you glance around to see if anyone else notices the situation unfolding before your eyes. Nothing. No one takes notice of the scene. You glance to Tadashi, but when you do, you see movement from Sayuri. She takes a few more steps back, but she stands taller than usual. "Seriously, get the hell away from me."

You had never really heard the smaller girl swear in any fashion, so hearing that makes you almost take a double take. "Anon-kun?" Tadashi asks. You can tell he's hesitant about doing something without your nod of approval, seeing as how you're so closely tied to the girl.

"Back off, seriously."

"No," the guy says. "I'm tired of listening to you and your stupid boyfriend with his threats and shit."

You look over at Tadashi and say, "Follow my lead." You stroll up to the scene in front of you, hands in your pockets, looking as if you're minding your own business. "Hi," you say, looking at Sayuri. You turn your gaze slowly from her to the three hoodlums accosting her, a grin on your face. You're doing your damnedest to be as happy-go-lucky as you can, at least in appearances. "What's going on?"

The lead guy turns to face you, and you see a look of panic etched into his features that lasts for a split second before he reacts, throwing a punch in your direction. The attack connects with your jaw, and you take a step back, stumbling slightly from the impact. The kid had balls, you'd give him that. "Get him," he says to the two behind him, and you quickly find yourself surrounded by two punks with the intention of taking you down.

"Tadashi, get Sayuri!" you shout, glancing back at your friend. What you see when you glance back, however, is nothing. An empty space now occupies where Tadashi once stood, and you don't see any trace of him. You glance around, slightly frantic, but see nothing but the people of the festival, Tadashi nowhere to be found. "Tadashi!?"

THWACK! All you hear is the sound of a fist colliding with your head, and you stumble, nearly losing your footing and winding up on the ground. You look up at the guy that threw the punch, and you see he and his friend are ready to fight.

Diplomacy, y'all. Give him a chance to save face and the problem may be gone for good. We can always just kick his ass if that doesn't work.
>>
You throw your arms up in self-defense just as another fist comes flying at you. Your quick defense manages to soften the blow, and you quickly lash out with an attack of your own while his guard is down. One, two, three -- your punches are quick, if nothing else. Your fists manage to slip in and connect with his midsection twice and then his nose. You move closer towards him with each strike, and he starts moving back out of reflex, trying to break from the assault. As he's shifting back, the other one steps in, effectively tagging in as your primary opponent.

The two of you are exchanging blows, blocking, deflecting, but overall not accomplishing much. Out of the corners of your eyes, you see a crowd forming around you all, and when you break from an exchange of fists, you see you're surrounded by all three guys, and around them is a ring of onlookers. You realize you're at a disadvantage at this point, and you don't see any help coming your way. Tadashi is nowhere to be found in the crowd. Then again, you aren't looking closely, for fear that if you lower your guard, you might provoke an opportunity for the three to converge on you and put you down. Numbers in a fight almost always win. "Wanting to rethink your position?" the leader asks, a cocky grin on his face. He knows he has the upperhand right now, and you realize he's going to gloat about it.
>>
"I'll give you one last chance," he continues. "You can turn around and walk away, or the three of us are going to break your goddamn face, then proceed with what we were doing." He must feel really good about himself right now, you surmise.

"So you're going to stand there and assault a girl that clearly voiced her discomfort and asked you to leave?" you ask. "Is that the kind of scum the three of you truly are?" Before he can answer, you interject, "Of course you are. I'm clearly touched in the head to even consider the alternatives."

"Still gonna talk shit, huh!?" He steps forward and punches you in the gut, causing you to doubleover. "I think it's time you learn that there's someone always out there stronger than you." He brings his fist down on your back as you're doubled over, and he delivers punches inbetween words. "You -- can't -- go -- around -- thinking -- you're -- hot -- shit!" You fall to the ground, face-down in the grass. The pain in your back is intense. You glance up at him and see him sneering down at your prone form. "You can't even 'protect a girl,'" he says with clear disdain, "Let alone yourself. I'm ashamed that you ever beat us up when we were kids, that you threatened us before. Never again." As he's talking, your ears start to ring, and it drowns out the sound of his voice. You're only able to pick out bits and pieces of what he says to you. "...so weak..."

"...like a girl..."

"...She should be ours..."
>>
You see Sayuri's eyes widen a bit in surprise, and maybe even fear at that statement.

The people around you aren't really even helping; they're observing, even recording the scene with their cellphones. That's when you realize they're all students. This will probably just go online on some video sharing website, and it will be one of countless fight videos, to be forgotten days later. The only people that will ever truly remember this event are the ones involved, and no one else in the world will give a passing glance at the results. Just another statistic among the millions of others.

One of the guys apparently believes you're out of commission, and he starts walking toward Sayuri, who is on her knees staring at you with big eyes. You aren't sure what he says to her, but she is clearly repulsed by his touch and mere presence. "Leave me alone!" she cries out, and to you, everything seems to go deaf in comparison. You arne't sure if people are talking, or if the scene you're in truly has gone silent.

You stay on the ground, waiting for your strength to come back and for the perfect moment to strike. You see the other two guys turn their backs to you, and their 'leader' kneels down near Sayuri. With no one having eyes on you, you spring to your feet and move to the two nearest targets. You realize you can't really overpower them, but you're faster, and you're smarter. Using that to your advantage, you sweep the feet out of one guy, using the motion of such an action to your advantage. You turn and bring your open palm to the second guy's shoulder, pushing him to the ground. Both individuals fall on their backs, and you move towards Sayuri.

You put your hands on the shoulders of the individual and pull him away from Sayuri, turning him to face you, and then using your superior height to deliver a stronger punch to the guy's face. The punch connects with a strong twack, and you see blood coming from the guy's face. He falls back and props himself up with one arm, the other arm trying to stop the bleeding from his now-broken nose.

"I've had enough of this senseless and endless struggle by the three of you," you say. You're vividly aware of the people around you watching and listening. "You have bothered Sayuri over two years now, and there's no reason for it. Stop it. Give up, forget it, and move on with your lives. You're only inviting more pain into your life by continuing with this course of action. It's stupid." You cross your arms as you look down on the three of them. "Get out of here before you really push me over the edge."

The guys all get up, looking pathetic and defeated. The crowd parts, ready to let them through, and you feel accomplished having resolved a conflict without fighting. As they're walking away, you hear a murmur from one of them to another, then you see a nod of a head and a glint of steel. Before you realize what's happening, one of the guys turns back on you, brandishing a knife, lunging at you in an attempt to stab you. You deftly dodge the attack and grip his knife hand, bending it backwards behind him, causing him to drop the knife. You then kick the back of his knees, forcing him to the ground, and you throw him into a hold, your arm firmly around his neck. You hold tightly as he struggles, and he nearly breaks free in the process, but he eventually goes slack, a clear sign of unconsciousness. You drop him carelessly and see his two friends staring at you in awe.

You stand there silently, watching the two of them try and gauge the situation. You can almost see the gears turning in their heads as they process the situation, and when they finally start to leave, they stop, grab the other guy, and then leave. Once every one clears up, you go to Sayuri. "Are you okay?" you ask.

She nods. "Thank you, Anon-kun..." She stops and meets your gaze. "Do you think they will ever leave me alone?"

"If they're smart, yes." You don't mention how you think they're the dumbest bunch of fools you've ever met.

"I guess they won't, then..." she mutters, proving she's sharper than you might normally give her credit.

"I'll talk to the faculty and get this addressed," you reassure her. "This has gone on long enough. The fact no one else said anything bothers me." She just nods. You glance back around, though, and still see no sign of Tadashi. "Sayuri," you say, "Did you see me walk up with Tadashi?"

"Huh?" The smaller girl is clearly confused. "Tadashi was with you?"

"Yeah," you explain, "He was up until I stepped in." Did he up and leave you there to fend for yourself? He might've found some more women to talk to, but... Tadashi doesn't seem like the kind of person to ditch you in a situation like that. He's clearly put family and friends above most everything else. "I guess something came up..." Glancing around, you try to see any sign of him, but out of the corner of your eye, you see what looks like silver hair...
