Greetings elegan/tg/entlemen and welcome to the fiftieth part of this quest, unlike usual the change today will be significant right from the get go for, you see, we will be incarnating the young, mute, centipede monster named ‘’Bletsia’’

Today has been much too silent for your liking; then again it was your own fault for waking up around noon and missing all of the morning activities but the fluffy tails, the blond one, was rather insistent all day long with all kinds of…stuff? It was a strange, strange day really, not only did you actually put your exercises to practice with that scroll but you apparently succeeded but in doing so you missed the departure of so many, many people.

It was really uneasy to have so few of the usual crew in this large place and for a moment a scary memory surface in your mind, sending nervous twitch along your insect body but you stifle the mas best as you can while holding the brush, making certain your calligraphy is up to par with your teacher demands even if your hand hurt by now, your mind can’t help itself by remembering the last few busy days, a storm is brewing for certain, a different one anyway.

It didn’t take too long after everyone entered the golden portal for the gray, menacing clouds overhead to discharges they’re cargo, you didn’t really mind getting soaked to the bones, actually you tried to forcefully play with some of those stuck up lizard people by throwing mud at them but the resulting scolding was faster and angrier than usual so you stopped.

Next you spent around a hour with that black furred pawed woman, she tried to communicate but you didn’t really understand but she was patient enough and tried to make you recognize some sounds which you did – but with the absences of scroll to write your thought on you couldn’t really make her known you wanted to touch her paw pads, so you made sure to help yourself anyway, her bodyguard almost choked and that mighty woman blushed faster than anticipated, next of course was the tail and whatever that Anubis wanted to do fell apart quickly afterward, but Yuria came and broke your fun.

Evening finally settled inside the fortress, thunder outside could still be heard even if you were deep inside, the loud booming in the horizon fills you with vigor but you don’t really like getting wet all that much and the spider woman is scary, much too sharp for you to even hope hiding from, much less flee, thus, here you are inside the library, finalizing some exercises that you find completely useless: you know how to write, but talking is a bit of a different affair.
It’s not like you can’t understand people, you simply don’t feel like listening.

The only other person inside the library is your good friend Rhy, the cat girl is busing herself with a book and you know to leave her in peace when she’s so absorbed in her reading, to tease her is to earn many frustrated grunts and sometime even swears, it’s not good to make the people you like angry!

‘’Is she worsening?’’

Yuria is speaking to someone you don’t know, a woman like Athena but with scales the color of charcoal instead of the healthy green you came to like.
With a brief click of your mandible, you make sure to (fake) going back to work.

‘’Thankfully, no, Lady Mebuchednazi is making sure to stay at her side and nursing her when needed, but it’s highly likely she’ll need to rest for a few days, her fever is concerning’’

Who could it be? Rhy is in perfectly good health; she’s listening to the dialogue just like you but isn’t hiding herself!

‘’I see… make sure to not leave the shrine out of patrol range, alright? I know you people like to do that and a storm is no excuses.

Yes yes…’’

Having finished her business, spider make her way back to your table, holding one of the many lamps keeping the library from total darkness, her yellow and black stripped, chitins legs produce many, many a clicks on the wooden floor.

Upon seeing your practice scroll, her hand gives you a healthy pat in between your antennas and you resist a purr.

‘’It’s amazing how fast you learned how to write…’’

You ignore her comment and instead focus on putting back the brush on the table and pushing your paper out of reach.

‘’Is there anything you have planned to do tonight, Bletsia?’’

Your head tilt at the question has you look her in the eyes, but the distraction of the tattoos on her face catches your attention, even deep inside the castle you can still hear the thundering of the storm, such a crappy weather effectively kill off any exploration but, even so, can you think of anything to do tonight, with everyone else completely out of reach?

Indeed, she misses them, and she remembers the last time mommy went away and... never came back. So she's pry quite worried but still hopeful, she's really a cheery, mischievous little girl in my head.

Oh by the way INH, can she use her toxin yet? It causes paralysis and pleasure. Good for pranks and repaying favors, but also good for tipping daggers and arrows or ice shards. Even if we don't land a kill, they'll be out of commission as they're assaulted with pure pleasure. She could be really fun in so many ways.

The question of the spider girl (that insisted on you calling her older sister) leaves you staring blankly at her for enough seconds to make her uncomfortable, with a brief head tilt and an elegant shrug Yuria hand hover in front of your face to break your reverie, and with a few blink you finally put your attention back on the table, taking one of the older, all-purpose brush and ink.

"When do the others get back?"

Mind way through your writing, you remembered the blond winged girl and your hand crisped with a strange, out of character indecision, at least that’s how you preferred to view it since fear is rather… distracting but upon seeing your paper, Yuria face changed to a frown just before she put on her mask .

‘’I am not sure, not even Tsukiyomi knows, but she seem convinced they’ll be back sooner than anticipated, we’ll simply have to wait.’’

Silence fills the room as you look down, eyes closed and trying to chase a certain memory, the far away thunder is muffled through the castle walls but still loud enough to break the silence of the library populated only by three people.

‘’Say, Bletsia’’

The voice of the spider girl is soothing and maternal, her hands travels on your head, now that you think about it there’s quite a number of people that keep doing that!

‘’Would you like to receive the blessing of the water dragon?’’

Oooh? Something to do besides staying inside with the raging storm and isolation forced by things you don’t care about? How lovely!

You sway sideway with a grin, knocking your fingers on the tables to make your excitement known and the spider laugh, cupping your cheek to calm you down and you make sure to obey, when Yuyu doesn’t have her way she can be rather… scary and obnoxious.

‘’This weather is the perfect setting, after all a water dragon is most powerful during violent storm but providing you with all the theology would be boring, wouldn’t it?’’

Yes, yes it would.

‘’I’ve shown you the way to the shrine, do you really wish to attend, Bletsia? I wouldn’t feel sad or insulted if you didn’t want to so don’t do it for my sake, alright?’’

Her hand float from your cheek up to your head, again but before you can try to write anything she continues.

‘’You’ll have to walk alone out there in the forest after all… not even Rhy can accompany you’’

Saying so, Yuria looked at the catgirl who immediately tried to get swallowed in her seat, masking half her face with her book, poor girl she’s so shy!

‘’I guess. It’ll be an adventure’’

She concluded with that scary, scary smile, poor Yuyu is probably genuine but she can look rather creepy when meaning well!
>>
>>22074531

However you didn’t focus on her, a single word uttered by your surrogate older sister resonated in your mind like bells.

Adventure…adventure….adventure…just like that time in the big city? That blonde woman was so cool when she beat the two twins of Sylphis!

How big is her family anyway? How would it feel like to have two identical sisters?

So many questions…

‘’Bletsia’’

A stern tone, Yuria looking down at you as if she wouldn’t hurt a fly but… You know, a spider is inherently scary!

Sorry, Yuyu!

So you do what you always do: cower but almost immediately she let out a small sigh and you know you’re out of the loop, that a woman is way too stern anyway.

‘’It’s not going to be easy, you know? That storm will make navigating rather harsh, plus Tsu is sick so you can’t rely on her’’

Then the small voice of Rhy interject, the poor girl visibly cower under Yuria stare and, try as she might, the spider wasn’t able to tone down the small queen nervousness

‘’A-are you really…doing that, Bletsia? It’ll be dark a-and… well I kind of have a bad feeling, with you going alone in the forest after dark…’’

Could it be she’s insinuating that you aren’t reliable? No, of course not, she’s caring! Fearful, but caring and a great friend!

Yuria is staying silent but actually nodded to the cat girl before looking down at you, wanting your inquiry.
>>
>>22074861
"What is wrong with Tsu? When did she get ill?"
>>
>>22074861
Stay with Rhy then and have fun with her.
>>
>>22074883
Adding on to this.

"Can I see Tsu?"
>>
>>22074861

Write <I should be okay; if anything tries to attack me on the way to the temple, I'll bite them!>

Show this to Rhy, then add <What's wrong with Tsu?> and show to Yuyu.

As you ponder your friend concern a bit more, you notice that there aren’t too many practice papers left and even less of that good for nothing ink, making sure to conserve your resources and writing small with your brush, your hand speed along the paper with practiced mastery, and soon finished you beckon Rhy closer, completely ignoring the fact that she’s missing half of her leg but the young queen use her crutch to walk to your table without problems.

<I should be okay; if anything tries to attack me on the way to the temple, I'll bite them!>

You make sure to emphasis with a clenched fist, but for some reason she giggle. So you briefly poke Yuria to look at your second sentence.

<What's wrong with Tsu?>

‘’Hmm…’’

Her arm cross under her breast, making you feels jealous, but she answers before you can pout.

‘’I’d say it’s overworking, soon after Ame and her escorts set out she dined and feel ill, but don’t worry the Anubis is at her side and making sure she’s healthy, Mebuchednazi seems very knowledgeable in medicine’’

She pause, taking a breath, a sigh maybe? Is she exasperated about something?

‘’But I don’t think you should see her, she’ll force herself to be motherly and kind when she should rest, you understand?’’

Do you?
>>
>>22075158
"o-ok, tell her to get well soon though!"

A zero and one figures with your hands, Rhy and Yuria stand completely dumbfounded as you don’t even stay a second in place to explain yourself, taking the brush and what’s left of the ink you start a rather crude and fast drawing, you can write pretty well and practiced your calligraphy but drawing something more artful than a bunch of stickmen killing one another?

Not in your dreams, you try to draw her tails and your long body but everything look like it was made by someone with paw hands… but your sentence is heartfelt

«Get well soon, fluffy tails»

Upon seeing it Yuyu stifled a laugh, as did Rhy the two girls actually acted in perfect synchronization, and that is so very rude!

‘’I’ll make sure she get it, well now, you really want to go to the shrine?’’

You nod and stretch, happy to get out of this place.

‘’Well… I’ll stay here before heading to sleep, be careful Bletsia, alright?’’

You made sure to hug and softly bite (with your mandibles) your dear friend before departing, not noticing that you actually started to secrete your biological poison…

A full blown storm.

Yuria made certain to help you prepare and that mostly consisted of good clothes, sturdy umbrella and an alchemical lantern, your hands are already full with the two object right now and you stand near the exit leading to the deep inner forest, and even inside you are getting wet by the force of the winds that is coming east, the walls acting as a magnificent stop point but once you go outside…

Well the knight are having a hard time, they’re actually patrolling but making a very quick work of it, many a swear can be heard under the wind but none seem to be taking the path of the shrine, unlike you.

‘’Oh? Are you lost?’’

A completely wet girl stop at your level, she look rather humans beside the fiery red scales and quiet tail hovering behind her, she seem free of any weapons at her side but instead hold a bladed staff that Yuyu identified as a ‘’Naginata’’ during your lectures.

Given your silence, the knight smile and walk closer to you.

‘’Do you wish for me to escort you back?’’

It would seem this is your fault obstacle!

The first thing to do, of course, is shaking your head in negation, your mandibles even clack together from your sudden nervousness, your action cause the young knight to frown and putting her free hand on her chin, so you make sure to continue by pointing to the road, the northern one leading to the forest since the intersection separate on three and, for emphasis you start doing some onomatopoeia, some «Roar!» and «Fwoosh!» as you imitate the exhale of flames followed by grand movement of arms at your side to mimic wings

Your efforts earn you laughter, the hand of the lizard girl, even if damped, is warm as she touch your shoulder.

‘’I saw Yuria venture forth just a few minutes ago; you’re heading for the shrine right? Be careful, the storm is violent and there’s mud everywhere’’

…She knew from the beginning right? All that effort for nothing?

Onward!

--

Enthusiasm isn’t efficient against the raging elements; Yuria simply said that you had to follow the middle path; the shrine is in a semi hidden state deep inside the woods, which translate to being out of eyesight of the main entrance. With lamp and umbrella in hands, your first step was mean beyond belief, a nasty buffet of wind almost sent you crashing on the floor but, thankfully, the knight reflex allowed you to stay upright, you made sure to thank her before continuing.

And now, you aren’t even out of sight of your previous destination, but you are already soaking wet; making you wonder why you even brought an umbrella in the first place but you have to commend the sturdiness of the thing, even with winds strong enough to force you to stop the thing never showed a sign of rupture.
It is, however, putting a mighty strain on your arm.

Do you take a fast or slow, careful approach to your destination?

…And you’ve probably a knack for this, yeah!

Walking in the storm is always a bad idea, but even the raging wind of Mother Earth couldn’t impede your determination; rain and brief loss of balance be damned, you pushed on, taking cover behind conveniently placed trees when a particularly nasty gust tried to blindside you, you almost had a face full of mud when you encountered a hole in the ground but your multiple amount of feet and natural dexterity impeded such a reality, you got out with only a small part of your long lower body dirty to boot!

But why would pilgrims go to a shrine in this crappy weather? Not like you don’t have talents for this, you really do, maybe you can become the best of that lizard priest?

The exterior of the shrine is very suspicious.

It look like a storage shed, but much too big to be a shed and much too decorated to boot so it clearly isn’t a shed, the door is opened and free for the storm to rage inside, with white light from lanterns placed inside allowing proper vision: all around you, the walls show solid and ritualistic carving made in an familiar alphabet, but impossible to read all the same, could it be another language sharing your alphabet?

There’s also drawing, many of them and pretty good, representing the sun, a serpentine creature rolling itself around a crude patch of land, humans… many, many things its, wow!

Really!

Oh yes there’s also a hole in the middle of the room, a trap door conveniently pulled to show the bowels of this place and, looking down, you see a single lantern on the ground standing at the bottom of the ladder.

However, upon observing you are suddenly buffeted by a very strange feeling: fear, perhaps? It comes and goes fast but for a moment you felt very afraid to proceed forward, after all you are completely alone and Yuria hasn’t shown any sign of life but all of these lanterns… she came before you, right?

It’s not like Bletsia to get cold sweat and (many) feet!

You lightly slap your cheeks and make sure to take many big breaths; it’s what Hadraniel said you should do when scared after all! Minus the slaps

Heave oh, heave oh.

«Slap»

‘’Ack!’’

That one hurt, rubbing your cheek you look down the hole, a ladder is a trivial feet, you can perfectly cling to it with your feet and travel down – or up – at record speed but you decide to take your time, making sure you stifle as much sounds as possible, the ladder being made of sturdy wood help immensely in that regard and so, only a few seconds to land into a very cramped room much less ornate than the previous one, the door however, look heavy and important: the tribal drawing are back in force.

With the aim of surprising your older sister, you try to slowly, slooooowlllly open that door but it’s too heavy!

‘’Huuuumph!’’

So you have to push with your weight, the heavy stones grind and refuse as if refusing you entrance.

But you have to do it, right?

No giving up, right?

The excitement put your heart a flutter, what’s behind that door?

>But it’s heavy! Proceed anyway?

‘’Gnuuuuh!’’

You feel that damnable door budge, at least more than previously as if whatever obstacle abandoned due to your stubbornness, that’s a very good thing, the law of physics WILL bend to your whim!

You do, however, lose your balance, the damnable thing didn’t had the luxury of opening slowly and inevitably you were sent crashing on the floor once you let go of your support, a rather painful crash too as if the door was already having its revenge.

But inside, it’s as if daylight is still going on, many, many decorations adorns the walls in much, much more attention, the roof even has something of a painting in glorious colors, you can also feel humidity all around you with the small sound of splashing water, the atmosphere of this place is incredible: it’s beyond holy, it feels old, so old…

But something amiss.

‘’Oh...’’

The many sound of splashing resonate, you catch a glimpse of a sleeping woman with a long, serpentine body, her face look peaceful, serene and motherly but the person moving…

It isn’t Yuria.

Her hair is a long dark purple cascading down her back, her clothing is that of a priestess, elegant and form fitting in blue with embroidery of green forming a serpent all along her torso, her lower body is long, very long and shielded in dark, purplish chitin and many, many legs allow her movement and finally, her skin is tattooed by the venomous gland, just like yours.

Standing before you is your perfect portrait, but more adult, refined and sage.

Standing before you is your dead mother.

‘’Can I… touch you?’’

Her voice is strained by emotions but you; you’re simply frozen in place.

Hmmm. As paranoid as I am over this, if Bletsia is as young as I think she is, she'd go running to her mother.
>>
>>22077444
Agreed, but again I'm pretty sure Bletsia is going to run into anything lethal so I say go to her as well.
>>
>>22077486
*isn't
>>
>>22077444

Seconding. I'm not saying it's a good idea, but I also think it's what Bletsia would do.

Little kids aren't known for critical thinking after all. If she is that young, then she wouldn't be thinking "Why is my dead mother here in this temple? Something's not right here", she would be thinking "MOMMY!" and skittering up to her full-speed for hugs.

>>
>>22077611
Nah, I believe mommy ate it right in front of her or otherwise told her to run while she tried to hold off some mantises or something. Either way, I'm pretty sure she put two and two together. She would also try and touch it anyway, Tsu has probably instructed her on illusions so she'd be on the lookout for them.
>>
>>22077670
Could be but she's still just a scared child venturing out in the middle of a storm to a creepy hole in the ground, logical thinking hardly ranks high among her current priorities.

>>

Possible, but I don't think so. I think that if there was anything truly dangerous within the temple, Yuria would've told Bletsia, "Now, when you get there don't do X, don't go to Y, and whatever you do, don't open door Z".
>>
>>22078072
Honestly, I figured if there was something super dangerous here, it would be guarded. Nor would Yuria tell Bletsia to go near it.

Why is she here!?

It… it’s her! She looks just like she always did, at least in your dreams! You always had an incredibly hard time sleeping after… that day, she forced you to hide, made you promise to never move a muscle inside that forest but you could have continued to run from that scary, strangely tattooed woman! Lay flat and act like your dead, don’t move – never move – just like how you escaped the hunters and villagers wanting you out, why? Oh that’s not important, right now you mother is standing right there… Just within your reach.

Her screams that night killed your voice, she never ran, she never cursed, she simply screamed in rage and pain and… and it stopped after a while, you threw up halfway and passed out.

But… she’s here!

‘’Mama…’’

The simple act of speaking almost threw you back to that sunny day, you always knew how to speak but… doing so is just so hard!
You want to launch yourself at her so, so much but you freeze completely and cry, you don’t like to do it its… it force you to make sounds, noises coming out of your mouth remind you of her screams, her laugh, taunting her captor…

‘’..Uu…Mama!’’’

You don’t even know why you’re here anymore, you feel lost, helpless and so terribly alone, the sound of the storm is carried by the storm, many a thunder echoing down and strangely you hear a single sentence just out of ear shot.

>Run!

But you don’t want to! Mommy is right there! She finally reaches your sobbing self, her arms wrapping themselves around your head, resting on her bosom her warmth, her scent…
‘’Mommy will make it all better, it’s okay… I’m sorry that I left you alone for so long…you’re really strong’’

Your head feels… fuzzy? As if you’ve just woke up, a feeling of disorientation and fatigue slowly enrobe your body, calming down your emotions and sobs but, strangely, you hear a suspicious sound in the entrance you’ve cleared, a look sideway…

Huh? A woman you’ve never seen before? Is that armor? She’s wet right to the bones and holding an elegant, bladed staff, she look scary, fierce with pale hair strangely reminding you of the angel but… you…just…want…to…sleep…mama…

You are the third to emerge from the golden portal, right after Hadraniel, only to get soaked right to the bones and almost lose your footing from a gust of unexpected wind. It’s completely pitched dark and very windy! But something amiss, there’s quite a number of knights patrolling the ground, much more than usual for patrols and, one by one, everyone emerge from the portal, the journey to the swamp over, Kyorn immediately start running near some cover for the sleeping Alraune and, hovering right above you is the quiet ghost girl you made sure to save.

‘’Inside!’’

Ame scream, so she can be heard above the winds and, as one everyone proceed, retracing Kyorn steps.

‘’My queen!’’

A knight come running ever before you reach destination, she doesn’t ever take time to kneel and you spot Athena hiding her arm as best she can.

"Where was she last seen!?’’

There’s an awkward pause as the knight look over at you and Hadraniel, both of you spoke at the same time while Athena and Sylphis did a perfectly synchronized ‘’what’’, Mylen and Emeth don’t show much concern but, quite frankly, you don’t give a damn.

‘’E-enroute to the shrine, but... it’s been more than an hour now and we’ve combed the place, even the sanctuary of the Dragon with the blessi-
I’ll take it from here’’

An abrupt interruption, you come face to face with the Anubis Mebuchednazi holding her staff and looking as proud as ever, she eyes your whole group with complete indifference and gesture for everyone to walk inside the entrance to stifle the wind.

‘’We’ve searched the compound long enough: she isn’t anywhere to be seen, the last one that would have an idea about what happened to her is lying unconscious in the infirmary’’

Everyone is looking either awkward or stumped; this is one HELL of a new after coming back from the worst place on this planet, tired, hungry and hoping for a warm bed.

‘’What…how!? Isn’t this place secure!? HOW THE HELL COULD THIS HAPPEN!?’’

Hadraniel outburst is incredible, the angel pierce the wall with her spear, her rage is painful, and you grimace and hold the pain in your heart as best you can while the link calms the invasion.

‘’It is, I made certain of that, Tsukiyomi-no-Mikoto security was already very efficient but this storm threw the barriers out of order, but explaining the failure is beside the point : we’ve most likely been infiltrated, not that matters anymore.’’

You notice that Kyorn has vanished but Ame break the silence, her walking heavy with a completely interdict face – no wait – she’s angry, very much so.

‘’I’m going to see my mother, all of you, dismissed.’’

However as she start to disappear in the bowels of the fortress, you hear the Anubis.

‘’I’d advise not, young queen.’’

Just like that? You’re left standing with all of the girls, stunned and angry.

‘’...excuse me’’

Athena suddenly utter, frustration and pain sneaking its way through the link and, soon enough, Sylphis accompany her while Athena is simply looking at her embedded spear, utterly emotionless.

‘’Siggy?’’

The quiet voice of Emeth is almost discarded, but her warm hand proves her presence.

‘’Well… what are you going to do now?’’

Mylen ask with a completely uninterested tone, her emotion the perfect mixture of boredom and care, she’s forcing herself to act like that, just like always.

"Athena, Slyphis. Head to the shrine and go over the place again. Between the two of you, you might find something the guards missed. We'll join you shortly.’’

The two girls were almost out of earshot but, upon hearing your orders, you feel a slight resolution coming from them and off into the night they go, doing something in such a situation is enough to calm some woes, nothing is more frustrating than helplessness.

‘’Hadraniel, Mylen. Let’s go see the last person who saw her. Hopefully we can get some information out of her."

With a single hand the angel pull out the spear from the stone wall and, silently, start walking toward the infirmary, you soon follow after her, flanked by Mylen and Emeth, the poor golem seem completely confused by the events.

‘’Isn’t it dangerous for an angel to be so enraged?’’

Mylen ask while looking at Hadraniel solid back, her wings fluttering, perhaps she cares for the angelic knight?

--

The infirmary isn’t far inside the castle but you do have to navigate, the entire order of the Shining Knight seem up and about and you hear various conversation affirming that runners have been sent, mostly Onis due to this horrendous weather, you and the three other girls went about in silence, Hadraniel rage quiet but burning fiercely…

Your destination, the doctor was a pale looking Tengu, her hair a brilliant white while her wings were grayer, upon hearing your inquiry she showed you to the largest bed of the room where, a perfectly healthy looking Yuria was sleeping.

‘’She’s been out cold for a while, it would seem she’d been injected with a soporific, and a potent one at that, I think she’ll need Holy to wake up soon…’’

…Soporific? The enemy is clear: it’s the church but if infiltrators came all the way here, why in the world would they bother with avoiding casualty? Isn’t that counterproductive?

However your musing we soon interrupted, Sylphis barged in the room completely scaring the poor doctor out of her wits.
‘’Siegfried… well all of you I suppose, come to the shrine! Ah, please look over Yuria…’’

Barely in the room and already interrupted Sylphis doesn’t seem like she’s just been out of combat so this could only means someone need you there.

Oh shit,OH FUCKING 7TH LAYER OF HELL I know why we got top priority! We've lost gentlemen, we've already lost the war.

Holy WMD is hungry as fuck, sucks down the juice like a black hole. That is, it is NOT efficient. But with Bletsia, that problem is now largely negated, enabling an automatic win. As Lelouch so eloquently put it, "It makes tactics and strategy pointless". Thus making her the HIGHEST fucking priority target because with her they automatically win, fucking, period. Not just here, but in the demon realm as well. With her, their dream of killing all monstergirls is within reach. She is the harbinger of her own race's genocide. And once she's done helping them out they'll kill her and complete the exterminatus.

Servants can't beat nukes or entire armies by themselves. It makes our prep pointless too. As the Didact said: "And yet, still you fail."

He might as well be talking to us... At least tell me they haven't gotten far. Then we might be able to salvage this, by relying on /tg/ dice crits. I friggin' told you they're out to get us.
>>
>>22079762
Agreeing with >>22079741

What else did we have to do in the castle? Wander around? We were pushed onto the shrine route. I fail to see you "not preparing" for this route, especially when everything seemed like a completely mundane obstacle.

Eg: Two threads ago, the cursed door we found. We were warned then and chose to back off. Why? because we we in a bad location and getting bad vibes.

Here, the warnings we had were people concerned that we might get hurt in a natural weather occurrence. We're in the god-damn capital city of the region, there was no way at all to suspect any danger.

Sorry to say this, but the idea might have sounded 'cool' in your head, but I feel a bit railroaded right now, the past few threads have been...eh. I might stop participating if this is the trend. It's a shame, really, because I've enjoyed it so far.
>>
>>22079815
Let me give you an analogy.

You're on your way home from work, but the train is pretty much full (our first warning), so maybe you try to get on anyway or walk home (the illogical choice). On your way back, a tree's fallen on the path home (our second warning), so maybe you go rent a hotel room (the illogical choice). You get home but you drop your keys as you go to unlock your door (the resistance). You get in and as it turns out, your family has been replaced with terrorists and now you're dead.

Honestly, I think i'm done with this quest.

You've been saying for several threads that you would do a joke session with a change of perspective. When the change of perspective finally happens, you're surprised that people thought that it was the joke session?
Not only that, but you didn't say AT ALL that the joke session would NOT be numbered; how are people supposed to know if a session is supposed to be a joke or not, if you've never said what will constitute the joke session besides a perspective change?

That too, again, thought we were safe. Their next goal will be to make it out of the castle with the girl (provided they're still inside it). Storm makes that easier but still, security is tight.

The traitor is likely still somewhere within range or left a trail to a base, and we have two servants and one is officially filled with righteous fury. Her NP is about to get used, a lot. Also, When we find them, we dominate the fuck out of them and make them spill *all* the beans through mind rape. Then, we publicly execute them.

"Such is the fate of traitors, remember this, and do not falter! If you do, I am prepared to render you the same service." That ought to keep people from double crossing.

Exactly what >>22080083 said.

If only we had a Yin... no chance for them to escape in this as where there's water, she can see. Doubt Siggy can do that without risking burnout.

>>22080121
Can't have all the info dude. Story is in first person perspective and not knowing everything should bite you in the ass sometimes. Just read the Eisenhorn books (which are excellent even if you don't like 40k). He done goofed big sometimes because, well, he didn't know everything.

>>22080144
I'm not too mad, just hope we can get these fuckers and get our cute little girl back before the inevitable brainwashing starts... Ame and her already have enough issues as is and I'd like to keep them from getting more.

But there's still a difference between giving critical information and giving away everything and making the choice obvious, I am not going out of my way to make you win.

I feel like some people are sore because they lost, I did choose a very poor time to stop tough.
>>
>>22080144
No, it isn't. But you will be called on your failures, and you will be criticized. All of the That GM threads on /tg/ should have given you an indication of what to expect.
>>
Now I'm not saying getting Bletsia kidnapped was I personally wanted to happen, but this definitely gives us an advantage when we catch the bitch that did this and MAKE HER FUCKING TALK.
>>
>>22080120
I think this is just boiling point for many players that have been here long enough to be tired of your 'author perspective' on key events, at times.

Could this been handled better by players, sure.

But it is wholly unfair to say it is only the players fault. Author needs to take some blame. How much is that, I can't say.

I take the blame, sometime too much, trust me, last thread made that sure.

But today, I don't even want to point the finger

I'm with INH here, it was clear to me that this wasn't the joke quest, and I knew something bad would happen. Something bad always happens. Welcome to Monster Girl Quest. Stop giving him such a hard time when he is at no more fault than you guys are.

You could have asked if it was the joke quest, seeing how INH answers questions throughout the session.

Ever consider that maybe you're expecting to know a little too much than what's necessary or reasonable, given the first-person perspective of the participation?

Nobody likes to lose, human nature. Could have been handled a bit better by all parties, some player's jimmies are a bit too rustled IMO but I can see a point as well.

Nobody's perfect. Besides, was expecting something bad to happen. We made it out of the swamp with no casualties and you are out to get us at least somewhat.

There have been times in this quest where he's left us completely as at a lost. Not knowing what option we really have or if there is even a option. I don't mind lack of info because characters not having it (see golem). He's had to, at times, come in tell us what is going on because simply didn't tell us anything wroth a damn.

I disagree. There were times (like in the last thread) where other people were trying to point out what our options were. It seemed like one person finally picked up on it, but the issue still remained "But I don't know which choice is the good choice!"

That's the fucking point. Sometimes you have to make an uninformed decision and see how it plays out. For better or for worse.

And what's wrong with asking questions about what to do if you're not entirely sure? I'm positive that INH is more than willing to clarify a few things.

Just a game dude, relax. It's like getting mad at a video game when playing multiplayer. Sometimes, the other team's just better. I'm not the best at FPS's to be honest, but I still have fun playing them even though I don't usually get anywhere near the best K-D spread.

Yes, her. I'm almost damn certain that lilim is Deruella. Descending from the sky offering victims "The Pleasure". Seriously, she could so fucking pull Grahf's shtick it ain't funny and they were both plotters to boot. I am NOT looking forward to facing her in combat.
>>
>>22080417
You know I had started up responds but I'll just summarize it, disagree, agree, never said there was anything wrong with.

>>22080464
If you think I'm mad, you be wrong. Feel slightly cheated, to a degree, sure.

And as far as multiplayer FPS goes....my back hurts all the damn time. Ha.

Well, then. I'm making assumptions, so therefore I must apologize.

But with all the shit I've been seeing tonight, I'm reasonably upset due to the backlash this got for the dickpunch that took place.

If I may, however, remind everyone of something important that was stated very early on in these threads:

INH draws some inspiration from Muv-Luv Alternative.

Think about that for a minute.
>>
>>22080679
Meh. Internet.

As far as references and inspiration goes, I'll say this:

He may draw on these things BUT in no way is that set in stone as how it will play out. I feel people may see some kind of reference that may or may not be there and simply run with it like a dog and bone, to never look back. People really need to stop doing that.
>>
>>22080679
No one likes a dickpunch, as you say. You can't be entirely surprised people aren't pleased with it. Not that I'm saying they're right but I can understand why people are upset and why INH may be upset.

Indeed, people got a little too angry over this. T'was a kick in the nads, but we'll have a chance to give as good as we get to these fuckers.

Plus this will likely lead to a boss fight with Belvedere, definitely something I've been wanting for a long time and this will almost certainly land her outside her mech facing down two servants if we're lucky. Curbstomp? A definite possibility. She needs to die, the sooner we dispose of that nemesis the better.

All that I meant to imply in that post is this:

Shit can and, more than likely, will go down when you least expect it.

Besides, like I said, that last bit wasn't really directed at you. Just something I felt like I should remind everyone who is mad at the turn of events that happened tonight.
>>
>>22080772
I know and my responds really wasn't directed at you.

I just see too many people grabbing onto some reference and thinking that it will play out JUST like it. Really, just more annoying to me then anything.
>>
>>22073456
Wow, just woke up and read through the thread.

That was...unexpected.
>>
Wait, what?
Well, okay then.

Something that occurred to me: for the Church to have found out about Bletsia's ability, either someone from the Crusade has infiltrated and has been in place for quite some time (probably via magical disguise) or there's a traitor very high up in the royal household.

Just my 2¢ worth...
>>
>>22083094
Yes, others have already pointed this out and it's a possible scenario, personally I'm waiting with bated breath for the explanation for this whole mess and it'd better be a good one.

Also, look at all the narrativist tears. Hahaha!

Just going to give my 2¢ on how to salvage this.

>Rhy got dosed by her poison. Poison is still likely in her system. Vital fluids can usually be used to track someone with magic and we got 3 hyper-powered mages. Get em' together, take some of her blood, and try for a trace. Won't be exact I wager but a general direction is a lead. Perhaps GM planned on that.
>Sword isn't a Siggy only weapon. Have him run to shrine while someone else uses it to revive and grill Yuria. She fucked up, big and we need to get all our leads down fast.
>Hadraniel and Kyorn can probably fly in this storm. Get enough leads and beeline for her likely position. Kill everything that isn't high ranking and/or has less than three legs. Those spared will receive "Enhanced Interrogation" of one form or another.

That's what I came up with after I slept on it. Good plan IMO, provided they didn't port halfway across the island.
>>
>>22085062
We sure it's the church by the way?

Oh yeah, this is definitely their handiwork. If not, my plan works regardless. It's focused on getting as many leads as possible as fast as possible. Gotta start thinking like this guy.

If only we had Mr. Holmes on our side this'd be salvaged in 10 seconds. In lie of him, must try and be like him. When it comes to detective work, you will never find a more worthy role model. Plans like that are what he does. Leads, fast, from all his assets even where most don't deign to look or even think about. It's why he succeeds where the cops fail. Good show as well, I highly recommend watching it. Really did a good job transplanting the old stories into a modern setting.
>>
>>22085316
See:
>…Soporific? The enemy is clear: it’s the church but if infiltrators...
Then again, it could just be Siggy's paranoia. And if it wasn't them that just makes things worse, since that would mean there is some third faction with their own agendas around.

As for this thread, personally I'm not nearly as rustled by what happened as by the poor execution of it.
>>
>>22085616
How do you think it could have been executed better?
