Welcome lads and lassies, guys and girls, ghouls and gals, eleven/tg/entlemen and intelligent/tg/irls, and what every the fuck else we call ourselves. It's time for another wonderful day funning the company in the great city state of Silverdale.

Last time on company quest we won the contract to work on the rails, and in addition found the problem with the bureaucracy is about five hundred times worse than originally expected. So... there is that.

Buy a market stall. Buy/build a factory near our depot in midtown and put the golems to work.

Also, you forgo the employee management!
Remove 16 people from R&D (9 people are enough for "huge" boost anyway)
Put 4 more into security.

Build 6 more golems

>A)
Expand our legal department and start a legal firm branch.

Didn't we already check the engine previous thread?

>>22157521
well, we are agreed on making more golems
I can support the toy expanding suggestion

I guess I could drop the suggestion to expand to law firm (for now)
>>
Rolled 3

I see we got consensus on Building more assembly golem and buying a market stall so

1. Check the bureaucracy engine
2. Research new toy.
3. Buy a factory

Rolling for the last choice.
>>22157570
Archie and eric hadn't checked the engine personally.
>>
>>22157676
>and buying a market stall so

Dude, market stall doesn't need an action to buy.

Also, buy a factory this turn. We need it to make the use of the assembly golems.
>>
After heading over to the central bureaucracy Kallen tries to a certain the particular problem with the engines. She meets with a small man near the oil lake and is forced to fill out several forms before he takes her across in the small dingy. Afterwards she makes her way to the thought engines. Unfortunately they are so large and complicated she can not find anything in particular wrong, just enormous amounts of broken parts and maintenance that is years overdone.

================

Mousy and her new apprentices construct several more construct golems. Now they construct a total one one train per turn. However through the entire process it is mostly Mousy's apprentices that do the work, the small elf girl instead falling asleep on one of the work benches.

===============

Eric and Archibold begin making new designs for the toys, changing them up and adding features. neither are great artists but eventually several variations on the small non descriptor doll comes out. Some are soldiers and princesses and what not.

~increase doll money by 5 tarllings~

Sending out men you search for the possibility of finding a job in the realms of legal firms or money lending. On the edge of the docks it appears there are actually a lot of legal disputes between the various fishing companies over the which areas the individual companies can legally fish. It seems a competent law firm could come in and help settle these disputes for a large profit.

===========

Archibold attempts to make the suits even nicer for when they send off a new batch to the Royal house of Ashe. After heading to the library in the center of the city he finds the history of the royal house of ash and their royal colors. Each of the new suits now have the emblem of the house emblazoned on the front (A large fire flanked on either side by salamanders and a molten blade down the center). Also the color scheme has been changed from that of the company to the royal house of ash with only a small company logo on the underside of the boot. Though a lot of aesthetic work gets done not much actual mechanical changes are managed.

===========

Arci and Eric this time accompany Kallen to the bureaucracy to determine exactly what is wrong with the giant thought engines. They together are able to do a full diagnostic, and determine of the over fifty engines twenty are not functioning at all, and an additional twenty eight are only working at some degree of efficiency. Only two are actually working at full capacity.

Neither of them has seen a single job this large before, and fixing them would take hundreds of workers and months of time. It would be simpler to simply route out the baron from his castle.... and that is something people have been trying for fifty years.

Another set of assembly golems are created, unfortunately unlike normal, nothing of interest happened during the process. Everyone simply worked like normal employees and Mousy asexually did her work for once.

========

The dock office is changed, while the store front is maintained a section of the back office is converted to a law firm office for Kallen. She sets up shop there and can now take jobs from the "law firm" sector there. On here desk she has all the classics, water drinking bird thing, little clacky balls, even three forged certificates from colleges the may or may not exist.

============

Archibold again improves the suit, now with increased environmental protection. With all the work with elemental portals the company had done for the engines he is now so experienced he finds several flaws in the design. After a lot of work and some changes to the meshes and wizard knot contingency systems the suits are both made more comfortable and safer. The chances of failure was extremely low before, but now nothing short of a suit puncture could put the person inside in any danger.

A final batch of six assembly golems is created and put into the factory. The trains are beginning to pile up and the company eagerly looks on, ready to get them onto to the rails. This is a great undertaking by the company and is their first steps into the upper echelons of the city.

=============

Kallen heads down the docks to see those fisherman having their disputes. While she is there, despite being part feline, she somehow resist the smell of fish long enough to negotiate a contract. It turns out there are a few major players within the fishermen needing their disputes settled, and those are who she comes into contact with. Jerald "The Minnow" Kelter and Jackson Desbid are the two large company owners fighting over waters. both are enormous men with even larger beards. After length deliberations Kallen knows this is going to be a lengthy settlement, and will bring in money for quite a while.

~new contract gained, 15 Tarrlings per turn, takes up Kallen. Kallen can not take other actions while on this job~

Archibold summons Sarric from the elemental plane of fire, unlike before the elemental pops into existence almost immediately, and he seems larger than before. Unlike in previous times they had met a small crown adorned the fire prince's head and his armor showed encrusted jewels.

"What's with the get up?" The fire elemental sighs, a small jet of flame coming from his mouth.

"I was at one of my fathers parties, really boring affairs. Just a bunch of old stuffed shirts trying to get me hitched before I turned two hundred. I'm still young, I need to leave my life..." Sarric continued, but Archibold had stopped listening at the mention of the age.

"Two hundred?!"

"Oh yeah, I forget you all don't live that long. Anyway, what did you call me here for?" Sarric looked detected. Archibold told him about the new suits and showed him the new designs. Sarric seemed overly interested and continued to ask questions, in other words he was stalling. Archibold got the idea and asked if he simply wanted to stay until after the party was done. The two hung out for a while in the employee lounge together with Erric and Grac playing cards. Despite Sarric not being able to hold the cards without singing them fun times were had all around. Afterwards he left, taking three suits with him and leaving another seventy five Tarllings.

>Something Fishy (15 Tarllings per turn, occupies Kallen)

Can we put more employees on this or is this just one man job?

Also, are we putting the trains on tracks or just stockpiling them?

> 255
should be 280, right?

>>22159280
>A Baron's Tale: Try to fix the bureaucracy, is a free form offer.
>G
I think it would be easier if we acquired the designs and the blueprints of the thinking engines and studied them in detail before working on this job.
>>
>>22159324
(yes, my math is stupid)

You can put more employees, but Kallen is your only lawyer. You need to get her to train lawyers, which she can't do while she is doing this job. You can momentarily take her off the job and do it.
>>
>>22159280
We're rolling on dosh now. Let's visit the merchant ball.

1. Hire more legal expert to help Kallen
2. Buy a lounge.
3. Let's start research on cheaper alternative of Automobile.
>>
>>22159350
Oh, then we should do that. How many turns do we need to train lawyers? And how many can she train at once?
>>
>>22159361
Agree on the merchant ball. Just hope we don't actually have to write dialogues. I hate that.
I thought we bought the lounge already...

Also agree on the lawyer thing, whether we hire them or train them.
The thing about the automobile. We already have a great way to decrease their costs: the assembly line!
>>
>>22159368
She can train three at once and it will take two turns to get them on a high enough level to help with in her business. It would be easier to simply hire more lawyers instead of training current employees.
>>
>>22159444
Makes sense. Lets search for employees then.
>>
>>22159417
Dang, i missed that.

1. Automobile/Motorcycle research
2. Hire more Legal expert. Or maybe we can get some intern from the university.
3. Merchant Ball
>>
>>22159350
Could you answer the question about the trains?
Are they being put in use already and if so, what is the general reaction of the public?
>>
>>22159523
No they are not. You have assembly golems but have assigned no employees to put them on the rails itself. They are taking up space in the factory at the moment.
>>
>>22159542
Oh.... then we should totally start doing that!

Assign employees to put the trains on the rails!
>>
>>22159542
Let's assign some next turn. Do we need to train them for this?

Also, what's the current progress of our competitor?
>>
>>22159590
You do not the progress of your competitor unless you spend a point investigating, however you have not seen any of their trains on the rails.

So what is the final decision?
>>
>>22159629
I think we should go with this >>22159491

Next turn we will start putting trains on the rails (would that be a new job type in the stat post?)
>>
>>22159491
Changing my research to investigate then.
>>
>>22159647
You need to spend an action point to create the job itself and get people working on it.

>>22159665
So what will it be guys, research or investigate?
>>
>You need to spend an action point to create the job itself and get people working on it.
I see. We don't have to train anybody for that job, right?

>>22159688
Both are equally good suggestions, so lets go with investigation since Paragon wants that.
>>
>>22159735
Ok, and no you do not have to train anyone.

Archibold is asleep in his bed, having the most wonderful of dreams. He is ridding in a vehicle powered by his engine, but instead of being one of the large cars or trains it only has two wheels and easily maneuvers the twisting streets of the city. Upon waking up he immediately runs to the workshops and rights it town. The next day he sets about working, the logistics will be difficult, especially making the engine size so much smaller, but he thinks it is doable.

~more research must be done~

=========

The company send several men out to the royal engineering society to try and figure out how far along their production was. They appear to be moving large amount of machines into a factory, but no trains seem to have been built yet. To the best of your knowledge they are building an automatic assembly line like you are, but completely steam powered

=============

Outside the great bureaucracy Grac is stationed with a large net. After several hours of capturing whomever comes out and questioning them found three suitable legal employees. Despite being slightly ruffed up from being stuffed inside of a bag all three are hired

(the merchant ball isn't an immediate thing... so you can buy it but it will happen a few turns from now at a designated time. Instead I did both of your suggestions besides that. Sorry I didn't catch the ball thing)

At least we're ahead of them. Do we have patent on our assembly line?
>>
>>22159991
>Something Fishy (15 Tarllings per turn, occupies Kallen)
Alright, put these new employees into here

-Keep researching the motorcycle
-Make the job to start putting the trains on the rails and put people on it
-Acquire the designs and blueprints for the thinking engines and then study them
>>
>>22160043
Ok everyone, one more turn and I am done! I need to go to my aunt and uncle's for christmas celebrations. Also we will be skipping sunday's thread. The next after this will be Wednesday at 2PST
>>
>>22160048
No you do not. You can attempt to, but patents are often completely ignored in Silverdale and are seldom enforced.
>>
>>22160048
I don't think anyone has patents to anything in this city. The law system is so fucked up.

>>22160066
Alright, we understand. Actually, I've been a bit busy too since the thread started
>>
>>22160093
Alright then, let's do that when we're close on fixing the bureaucracy.

1. More research on motorcycle.
2. MORE RESEARCH on motorcycle. Let's get the thing done before the ball.
3. Start putting the train on track.
>>
>>22160142
Double morotcycle research. You really want that bugger.
>>
>>22160161
....Do bicycles exist in Silverdale?
>>
>>22160161
No shit. We finally got something worthy of exporting.
>>
>>22160183
Yes, but they are not motorized.
>>
>>22160196
Ok everyone, five more minutes and I'll write up the last turn for today.
>>
Do we still need to build the facility to maintain the trains as per contract or will the factory suffice?
>>
Archibold gets the entire staff working on his motorcycle idea. Eric and Archibold lock themselves in the workshop with all their assistants for the better course of the week. From inside the sound of hammers, welding torches, and the occasionally accidental summoning of an eldritch horror can be heard. aril at one point attempted to go it, but unfortunately the door was barred and some kind of yellow sludge seeped from under the door. On the seventh day Archibold and Eric returned triumphantly (one of their assistants missing a finger and another somehow having grown an extra arm out of the center of his chest) a new version of the ECE in hand. it was fitted into a strange two wheeled vehicle akin to the automobiles.

=========

Ten men are put to work fitting the trains onto the rails. The job athirst goes slow, but after the first one they become much faster in perfuming the diagnostics and changing out the old cars. With each subsequent one the fitting becomes even faster until it is second nature.
>>
>>22160375
You need one per contract, the factory can be converted once the train construction is finished.

Also, goodnight everyone. Good thread! I hope to see you all next wednesday after the holidays.I'm just gonna archive the thread. I might be able to answer a few questions fro my phone for the time being until I get to my Aunt and Uncle's
>>
>>22160479
Goodnight! Have a good time!
Happy Mayan Apocalypse!
