Welcome ladies and gents to Succubi Lord Quest, End of the World edition! Last time our hero(ine) Brooklyn journeyed to a Snow Pirates’ base, then with assistance of Mina the Succubus Monk, lured the Snow Pirates’ back to the Shrine of the Succubi Queens so that they could feed. They then went back and cleaned out the base, rescuing a merchant and his two daughters, whom after rescuing promptly returned to the city. The Queens were thankful for what you done, and the Gemelli Queen took time to teach you Aura Sight as a reward.

I also... kinda fucked up the tags for the first quests. If you want to view them, just click the Succubus word. The link to the first thread is somewhere in the second thread, mainly because we had been delightfully trolled for one.

You slowly stretch yourself out as you feel the sunlight of a brand new day wash over you. Yawning, you slip off the covers and crack your fingers as your eyes adjust after waking up. You can see Brodin passed out in front of the fireplace. You don’t even question the notion that he went out and got plastered yet again last night. You decided to let Mina stay at your place for the time being. Mina doesn’t have a place of her own in the town yet, and in order to do that she’d need citizenship. A bit tricky but assuming you bribe the right nobles it’s a fairly easy process. The other ways is to either marry into a family or be a very rich merchant.

However Mina seems to have vanished completely. You recall that when both of you came home last night, you both went straight to bed, however this morning she’s not here. She couldn’t have gone far as her travellers back is still leaning against your wall.

“Tadaima!” Mina says as she enters the house with a towel around her neck.

“Hey Mina, where’d you go?” you ask as you throw some logs on the fireplace to warm up the place.

“Oh sorry! I should’ve told you! I just went out to do some light morning exercises!” she exclaims.

“Oh?” you ask as you bring out the matches.
>>
>>22163237

[2/2]

“Yup! 2000 Sit ups and push-ups, 750 Squats with a 340 kilogram weight, and a 10 mile sprint around town before sun up!” she exclaims.

“...Mina you do more exercise every morning that I’ve done in my entire life...” you say realizing it yourself.

“Well Okarians don’t do a lot of physical stuff right? So don’t worry about me!” Mina says giving you a pat on the back.

“...Uh... Right sure...” you reply. You think she’s forgetting the bit that you used to be human, but you don’t correct her on it.

“So what’s on the agenda today then?” Mina asks as she sits on your bed.

You look up at your clock on top of the fireplace, seeing that right now it’s a bit later than you usually wake up at 9:00 AM. The only thing you had *really* planned for today was going to see those noble girls at the cafe at six. Or you could see if you can find that Elgar merchant somewhere around town.
>>
>>22163243
Right, let's start by looking for the merchant. Let's not forget to use the same disguise we wore when we freed them, either.
>>
>>22163243
Let's find Edgar. He'll be super hyped to know his stuff's okay.
>>

"Nothing much really. I have a meeting at 6 and I was thinking of finding that merchant we saved yesterday so that he can get some of his merchandise back, and hopefully get some connections because of that. Except that, We could try and get your citizenship so that you can get a place of your own, train a bit or find some info for some more exploration"

“Oh! I love exploring! One of the reasons I left the East was to explore the world! ...But establishing connection webs... Eh...” Mina doesn’t appear to enthusiastic about the second idea.

“Anything wrong?” you ask her.

“Eh... I won’t deny that connections are a good thing for a Succubus, or heck anyone to have. It’s just that all the favor currying and recommendation stuff just goes straight over my head. I mean I know how to handle myself at a formal party, it’s just that courtly politics tend to go over my head at times...” Mina replies.

“You shouldn’t be without any connections though.” you warn her.

“I know I know! Just... I prefer to get connections in a more casual friendly way rather than business connections. You know what I’m saying?” she asks.

“I think so. Anyways I’m going to head out to see if I can find that Elgar merchant. With luck he should be in town.” you tell Mina as you shapeshift into your Miranda disguise from last night, putting on your casualwear that Mina bought for you.

“Oh! Can you also buy some tea! We’re almost out!” Mina says.

“Noted.” you reply as you also grab some library books that you need to return, then head out. “See ya Mina.”

******

It takes about an hour of searching in order to figure out where Elgar went, but sure enough you find him at Dr. Gaterkin’s office. You find him sitting down with various bandages over his body and still dressed in torn and dirty clothes, but otherwise he appears to be fine. A man in his late forties who is bald on the top of his head. His glasses are broken allowing you a clear view of his worried face. He doesn’t even seem to notice you approach with how deep he is in thought.

“...Sir Elgar, are you alright?” you ask as you sit next to him.

“Huwa!?” Elgar’s eyes quickly snap open and he looks around in a panic for second, before he sets eyes on you. “Oh Miranda... Again my dear I cannot possibly thank you enough for what you’ve done for us. You’ve saved our lives and for that I am indebted to you.”

“Oh pish posh, it’s just part of my job. No thanks are necessary.” you reply.

“Oh but they are! The pirates were going to ransom me, but I didn’t tell them that my daughters and I are all the family that remains of us.” Elgar sighs.

“...And how are your daughters?” you ask.
>>
>>22163555

[3/3]

“The Doctor is checking them now. Normally I’d have reservations about an Orc *anything*, let alone an Orc doctor. But he was willing to take us for least amount. My daughters... Well traumtized at the very least. I’ll let the doctor give his diagonsis and at least put some of my fears to rest. But tell me Miranda? What happened of the Pirate base? Did you get rid of the rest of the pirates? Did you find out what happened to my caravan? Would it be safe to travel through that area again?”

The last one you’re somewhat unsure, as you don’t possess the military knowledge to know how the pirates in the city would react, but you could certainly answer the other two. You’re certain of at least three other major pirate groups in the area at the very least.
>>
>>22163566
"Me and some of my friends did clear the base. Your caravan was pillaged for the most part, but there are still some stuff that is in good condition. How safe the area is however, I do not know."
>>
>>22163566
"That base is clear, your caravan was pillaged somewhat but some of the stuff was taken already.

As for it being safe, it might be safe for a short time, but nature abhors a vacuum. There's more pirates out there and they'll probably fill the void quickly.

I'm sorry, but that's how it is. Maybe if you hired Mercs you could retrieve it safely."
>>
>>22163566
"That band, at the very least, is cleared out. I can't promise there aren't other bands in the area, though, and the base itself is still there. Your goods, by the way, are largely still in the base from what I can tell, so it should be relatively safe to retrieve them."

Also, as a note: If we feel like currying favor with the Wolf Pack (?) as Miranda, we could point out that there is a pre-built base ripe for the taking, if they would like an independent base of operations. I would suggest telling our 'boyfriend' as Sarah, but then we'd have to explain how we know. (Friend of a friend, maybe?)
>>
>>22163693

“The base is clear, but I did manage to find your caravan. The metal weapons and accessories, correct?” you ask.

“Yes! Yes that’s it! In what conditions are the goods!?” Elgar asks, somewhat eager to find out.

“Aside from a few looted weapons, it was mostly intact from what I found last night. However with other pirates in the area, the power vacuum effect will probably fill the void those pirates left behind rather quickly. If you want your supplies, then I suggest you send some mercenaries to quickly retrieve it.” you tell him.

You can hear Elgar give a large sigh. “Thank goodness. Don’t mistake me for a greedy merchant Miss Miranda. My daughters are my greatest treasure, it’s just that I don’t often bring that much money from me while travelling so I’m forced to rely on my trade. I have ample money in my bank account, but none here. ...I’m probably going to need to pay the mercenaries a cut of my stock because there is no major bank here...” Elgar sighs.

“I’m sorry for your misfortune.” you reply.

“No no, it’s quite alright. You don’t go into this line of work without expecting something like this to happen someday.” Elgar sighs. “But I should at least repay you. Would you care to have dinner with my Daughters and I before we leave? Tomorrow would be a good time for myself.” Elgar asks.
>>
>>22163769
"I would be delighted to do so."
>>
>>22163781

“I would be absolutely delighted to so my dear.” you reply Elgar.

“Excellent. I hope my daughters will be recovered enough by then. Is The Altus at 8 alright with you?” Elgar asks.

“Absolutely fine with me.” you reply. The Atlas is a fairly fancy restaurant mainly for the upper crust of the town.

“Good. Now if you don’t mind my dear, I think I need some time alone to... think about a few things.” Elgar asks.

“But of course, I understamd completely.” you say standing back up, tipping your hat at Elgar. “I hope your daughters make a speedy recovery.”

“I hope so as well my dear... I hope so as well...” Elgar mutters.

You head back outside. You still an entire day to kill. You could return your library books and take a few more out, could try to practice your powers, or try and track that Laminian girl you’ve heard that was in the city.

(Or something else if you wish)
>>
>>22164007
track laminian girl, also pick up tea before the shops close
>>
>>22164007
Why don't we see if we can get a lead on the Laminian girl and pick up some tea while we're about.

Also, it's morning, shops closing won't be an issue for awhile.
>>
>>22164007
I would rather practice our powers, actually. Need to be sure that we can hold our own against the Laminian if she turns out to be hostile.
>>
>>22164049
Yeah, we can practise our magicks searching for that laminian girl.
>>
>>22164007
practice aura sight
>>
You’re somewhat curious about whenever or not you can try track that Laminian girl that’s around town. ...Also picking up some tea for yourself as well in the market.

You spend the next two hours searching around town with your aura sight active. It is kind of amazing to see all the multicoloured auras of people walking around town, almost surreal and does actually hurt your eyes with how vibrant they are, but you eventually manage to adjust your eyes.

You try to search the common areas around town kids usually gather in. The playground, the slums area, the mercenary section, the restaurants, everything except the church (which was torn down by the demons centuries ago). But in the end you couldn’t find anything at all. However you do notice that after a while, the auras of mortals seem to be a bit... less intense than they were as before. Meanwhile while you look at your own aura, you can that it burns far brighter than those around you.

(AURA SIGHT LEVEL UP! You can tell whenever or not a creature can use Aether, and how powerful they are in comparison to you)

You decide to go study a bit more on demonic lore for a bit. You find a safe place to morph back into your original form and head to the library for a little bit of study.

You enter the library, walking up to the front desk and pass the books to Roger the Librarian in training. “Hey Roger, dropping some books off. Probably going to spend some time studying.”

As you say this, you notice that Roger is looking at you with his mouth slightly open.

“...What?” you ask.

“Brooklyn. You’re wearing a *dress*.” Roger points out to you.

You roll your eyes and sigh. “Mary-Anne Langy ‘gave’ it to me, claiming she wouldn’t let anyone teach her son without a proper uniform.”

Roger makes an “Ouch” expression with his face.

“Yea... I think you can imagine how that went. I’m still trying to come to terms with the situation, but in the meantime this is one of the only sets of clothes I have that still fit me.” you reply.

Roger takes the books out of the bag and begins to look over the titles. “So have you played with your breasts yet?” he asks while looking at the book title.

“Every bloody day.” you casually reply as you head into the library to search for books.
>>
>>22164731

[2/3]

The library you’re in is fairly well stocked for a public library, but after carefully browsing things you become aware of it’s limitations. The library itself is only a rather small one, and any books on topics the demons don’t approve of (such as Old World Technology books or detailed analysis of demons) don’t exist. That and your city is fairly remoted, and when people are focused on survival books somewhat fall to the wayside. The Langy family Library probably has banned books, but you are not able to get hold of those.

In the end you need to get nearly six books. The science of cross-referencing facts from books isn’t new to you, but it is often tedious and time consuming.

While you are unable to find new information about Succubi, you do manage to find information on the Rage Demons. The Rage Demons are a warrior race of demons known for the ‘barbarity’ and ‘extreme emotions’. Where the Pride Demons after often regarded as masters of social structures, the Rage Demons are known as masters of martial prowess. There is really only one known Rage Demon settlement known, lead by the Rage Demon Queen Kali. A warrior so potent that it took three Pride Demon Princes just to bring her to a standstill AFTER she annhilated the vast majority of their attacking army (The numbers of the army seem to be not given, but it was claimed to be ‘vast, but ultimately the peon’s of the Pride Demon’s army, purposefully led against the Demon Queen as punishment for crimes against their lords.” ). It was only after a long war that the Pride Demons agreed to let the Rage demons have their own lands so long as they didn’t attack and Pride Demon lands. This is sorely tested every day, as apparently Rage Demons ‘break off from their own kingdom and attempt to sabotage the Noble goals of the Pride demons’. The vast majority of Rage demons live outside of their own native kingdom, preferring to test themselves against world. Rage Demon Mercenaries often ask how strong their opposition is, rather than how much their pay will be. You find out the “Noble” race of Rage Demons are called Vishnu, but you’re unable to find out much beyond that given the current selection of books.

“Say Brooklyn I gotta ask... What’s with the sudden interest in Demons?” Roger asks pointing out the books spread out on the table in front of you as he puts away books on a shelf. “It seems since a few days ago, you’ve been really boning up on the subject.”

>>
>>22164837

Well, since I never got to the end of that ruin, I can only assume that old world tech does not have the ability to turn one into a girl, therefore, I am researching demons to find out which type the ruin most likely belonged to. Because when I tried to go back, I was greeted by a building having fell on the entrance. Not very helpful...
>>
>>22164782

A combination of two factors. one: Lord Langy wants the best for his son and we've touched on the subject a few times recently. Two: I have reason to believe that the magic that did this was demonic in nature.
>>
[1/2]

"Roger, look at my chest, I don't have you tell you what's there as you're already staring, and given that I'm a man that makes you gay.” you tell him

“Ahh... Am...” Roger replies before coughing into his sleeve.

As wonderful as they are it's a big change.

“I lost my dick, only way I can think of to get it back, to really understand what happened to me, would be demons and magic, so I started researching them, it's actually a really interesting subject. Though so far it seems like since I can't use magic I'm boned." you reply. “Plus Langy was getting on my case when I was teaching Brothen, so I’m just brushing up in case he gets on my case again.”

“...Then why are you reading it if you can’t use magic to undo the spell?” Roger asks.

You just shrug. “I guess the same reason rich people in the past spent untold riches in order to live just a little bit longer.”

“Brooklyn, as Scholar you know better than anyone else that Demon’s hardly care about our plight. Even if you did prove it was possible, I doubt you’d find one that’d actually care enough to cast the counterspell on you. Or if they did, get you in some horrible contract.”
>>
>>22164987

[2/2]

“Shut up I can dream...” you mutter as you turn the page on the book.

“Maybe you could ask the Demon Knight that’ll be coming to visit soon.” Roger says.

“What!?” you look up at your book towards Roger.

“At least that’s what I’ve heard from the rumor Mill. Apparently some bigshot Pride Demon Knight is coming to the city to help Lord Langy with something. Although with what I’m sure of.” Roger replies.

Your heart nearly skips a beat upon hearing that a Pride Demon Knight would be coming here of all places. Hell there are barely any demons who want to willingly be here. You wonder if you should ask Roger for some more information about this or learn about it yourself later on.

"A Pride Demon Knight? Here? When was the last time that happened?

This is pretty weird, do you know anything more about this? Any idea why one would bother coming to this place?"
>>
“A *Pride* Demon Knight, here? The last time that happened was nearly 50 years ago wasn’t it?” you ask.

“51, but yes you’re right. It was when Langy’s Father was on the throne. Usually they only come when there’s an ‘outside context’ problem. AKA: Something the Langy family or the city is unable to handle. It could be just a visit, but I extremely doubt that.” Roger replies as he takes a few books, putting them back into the shelves.

“Do you know anything more about this?” you ask.

“Hm... Other than he’s coming sometime this week, I don’t know. It was only a rumor, but it did come from a mercenary who is close to one of the Langy’s sons.” Roger replies.
>>
>>22165168
"Weird. You hear anything more about this let me know, anything that a Knight comes in to deal with can't be good.

I'll see if I can learn anything as well, I'd like to know what's happening because it's not likely to be good for us and the more we know the easier it is to keep our heads down."
>>
>>22165247

“Weird... If you hear anything more about this, let me know.” you ask Roger. “I'll see if I can learn anything as well, I'd like to know what's happening because it's not likely to be good for us and the more we know the easier it is to keep our heads down.”

“Be careful. Finding out exactly why the knight is coming here is probably going to be dangerous information in of itself. On the bright side, we’ll know when he’ll be coming at least. Due to the how much Pride Demons love having their ass kissed.” Roger laughs.

“Amen to that.” you reply as you continue to read.

The rest of the book reading goes rather smoothly, and is somewhat productive. However when you look up to check the time later, you notice that it’s nearly 4:30 PM. Including the time it’d take to get to the meeting, you have about an hour before you meet the noble girls. You wonder what, if any, sort of “last minute” preparation you should do.
>>
>>22165352
We should wear our witchiest dress, we're not going to rush the magic thing and show them anything yet, but it's good to get the image.

Remember to look like Sarah when we go to meet them, we have to keep our identities straight.

We won't need any cantrips of ritual magic anyone can do yet, we're not going to show them any on the first meeting.

Mentally review our notes on Demonology, the things a beginner should start with, interesting facts to pique their interest, that sort of thing.
>>
>>22165352
Just prepare some notes on the very basics of demonology, mostly set out to correct any preconceived misinformation they may have
>>
>>22165352

at this stage we should not try using our abilities on them (yes i mean suggestion. that will come later) we should just stick to going over the generalizations and stereotypes of each type of demon. once that has been laid down, we can begin to add detail to the basic structure of each type of demon. we should explain each type based on what they are interested in after giving them the synopsis of each race.
>>
>>22165430
i think thats all we have much access to anyways, after all, it IS the public library
>>
[1/2]

You decide to spend some time doing some review lessons, using the Libraries ink to take a page for some lesson notes. You’ve taught children of nearly every age group except for very early childhood, so you think you’re able to handle a few noble brats. (-1 CP for paper, -3 silver for tea)

You write down some basics on Demonology. Mainly some interesting general facts to grab attention while trying to guess what would be the most misconceived notions of demons in general. After you’re done, you head over to the cafe to meet up with the noble girls. The casual dress Mina gave you is fairly witch like. Certainly enough to give an impression you think. You change into your Sarah persona along the way to the Nobleman cafe.

As you walk by, you can tell that this is a fancy cafe made for nobles and other upper crust of society. The building itself is similar to old buildings made long before the Scouring. Four pane windows show a rather large floor filled with large fluffy chairs and filled with women sharing gossip or men reading a book while smoking their pipe, filling the air with the smell of burned tobacco. The walls hang with tasteful decorates of not from your land, but rather from a place called, ‘Europe’ back in it’s old days. Art depicting sunny locales hang on the walls above the crackling fireplaces, even the support pillars are carved with the attention and care with an artisan’s detail.

A woman in a maid’s uniform approaches you as you stand looking around the cafe. “Table for one ma’am?”

[2/2]

“Uh... No. My name is Sarah. I was told to meet a Miss Richardson here.” you tell the Maid.

“Of course, please follow me miss Sarah.” the maid says leading you upstairs.

As you ascend the oak staircase and look down the hall, you can see a hallway of rooms, most likely private rooms for people who wish to reserve them.

The maid walks over to a room, knocking on the door before opening it. “Excuse me, but Miss Sarah has arrived.” the maid says.

“Thank you. You’re dismissed for the moment. Please do enter lady Sarah.” a voice you know as Amanda replies.

You enter the room, seeing that it is indeed a small version of what was downstairs. A single serving table with a patter of tea and snacks is surrounded by two large couches. A small potbelly stove burns in the corner providing ample heat for the room. What surprises you more however is the fact that the three noble girls are dressed up in clothing you wouldn’t expect of nobles, almost appearing as commoner clothes.

“Forgive the attire lady Sarah, but we had to pick something that wouldn’t draw attention around own.” Erica says sipping her tea, but you can tell in her voice that she doesn’t enjoy wearing such a thing.

“Y-Yes of course! That’s fine by me.” you say as you close the door behind you. “May I have a seat?” you ask.

“By all means lady Sarah.” Erica says shifting over so you can sit down.

“Thank you milady.” you say sitting down, also reaching for the teapot to get yourself some tea. You’ve always wondered what the tea would be like in this place.

“So Lady Sarah... Before we begin how extensive is your knowledge on the occult and demonology? Will we begin on learning basic summoning or contract negotiation?” Amanda Richardson asks you bluntly.
>>
>>22165832
correct any misconceptions they have then VERY basic magic that could be considered harmless, explain the rest take time, practice and experience they currently don't have
>>
>>22165832
"To put it bluntly, no. One must walk before one can run, after all, and summoning and contracting demons is running quite quickly indeed, and jumping straight in is practically begging to get yourself," <chuckle goes here> "'Enlightened.' Instead, we'll be starting with the demons themselves."
>>
>>22165832
I'm willing to bet that Oksana knows more than us about demon summoning and we can ask her about it later.

"My knowledge of the occult and demonology is rather good, dedicated scholars of the art know more than I, but you're unlikely to find anyone who knows more who will teach you.

As for basic summoning and contract negotiation, I know a fair bit, though I have little actual practice with it given the risks involved. You're unlikely to find anyone who knows more here and it's even less likely that they'd be willing to teach you.

We shall start with the basics of the occult and demonology, if you do not know the fundamentals and have a strong background in both of these subjects than summoning will end with your soul getting eaten or your heart set on fire.

And there are other routes to power that don't necessarily involve demons, but that is for another day."

you do know the pride demon might be after us. the lord could have scanned us and called in help. Need to figure out why the demon knight is coming asap.
>>
>>22166118
Very true. At the same time, neglecting our forming web of connections could be just as bad.
>>
>>22166118
Entirely possible. And we're talking to people from the Langy family right now. We can ask if they know anything about it or can ask around for us as price of us teaching them.
>>
>>22166149
Hmm. Let's hold off on that until we see how the first meeting plays out.
>>
>>22166118

we shall practice concealing our normal aura as a standard mortal aura. does Brodin have aura sight? if he does we can practice on hiding from him...
after all, if the demon decides to examine us (probably discreetly to begin with) we don't want to be glowing like a light-bulb for aura sight...)
>>
[1/4]

You pour some tea for yourself and begin to mix in a tiny bit of cream and sugar. “My knowledge of the occult and demonology is rather good, dedicated scholars of the art know more than I, but you're unlikely to find anyone who knows more who will teach you. And there are other routes to power that don't necessarily involve demons, but that is for another day.”

“Other routes? Intriguing...” Amanda says, appearing to be thinking to herself.

“So while certainly not the best, a sheer stroke of luck that we found someone willing to teach us.” Erica replies. “So Miss Sarah, shall we begin?”

“Of course!” you reply after sipping the tea. The rich flavor is unlike anything you’ve had before, while the cream seems to almost melt in your tongue. You kind of wish you had a bit more time to enjoy it, but you weren’t called here merely to drink tea.
>>
>>22166222

[2/3]

You begin to lecture the girls first in about the basic structure of demons, mainly clarifying in how they’re only one entity under the broad umbrella term of, ‘spirits’. You tell them that the major demon types known are modelled after the seven vices of mankind: Lust, Gluttony, Greed, Sloth, Wrath*, Envy, and Pride. You tell them a bit of the Pride demons, but moreso about Wrath and Lust Demons, mostly the latter as you personally know a few tidbits. You tell them that amongst demons, exceptions will always exist. Indeed there are a few types of demons that fall outside of these categories, and many experts in demonology often choose to study one type of demon. Mortals are only permitted to learn about Pride Demons.

After which you begin to delve into Aetheric and occult theory for a little bit. Explaining them how aether permeates the world and is central to everything, but especially spirits. Demons, Angels, and ghosts alike all require aether in order to sustain themselves. Demons all seem to have their own ways to ‘feed’ themselves and generate Aether. Some demons get it from consuming food like humans, others get it from long meditations, while some others literally get it by dancing under moonlight nights. They all have the own rituals sort to speak.

“...And the other good example is from Wrath demons, who seem to gather aether from strong emotions of bravery and... Is there something wrong?” you ask one of the noble girls, the one whose name you do not known. She’s been silent all session, and now you can see her fiddling with something in her hands.

“...Leona? Is something wrong?” Erica asks her sister.

“N-no... N-nothing’s wrong...” Leona replies quietly.
>>
>>22166227

[3/3]

Erica looks at her for a second, before she forces open her hand. In the middle of Leona’s hand, a silver cross with an angel can be seen on it. The other two noblewomen simply gasp. You know this cross from the symbol belonging to the church of Illysia. A major human religion that was developed after The Scouring. They’re fairly big in Europe where the church has Angels to fight off demons, but the practice of the church’s worship is illegal in other parts of the world. It certainly explains why she was so quiet and so worried throughout the entire session.

“Leona! Why do you have such a silly trinket!?” Erica demands.

“T-The holy symbol of Illysia is not a mere trinket!” Leona says defending herself.

“Give me the cross Leona! I’m doing this for your own good!” Erica demands as she tries to grab the cross from Leona’s hands.

Leona and Erica continue to fight for a little bit over the cross, before finally the cross flies from the hands of both girls, soaring through the air to land on your hand.

Pain. Fire. Burning. These are the only things the shoot through your head within the next second.

“OW!” you yell as you take your hand to your mouth to suck on it, trying to get rid of the pain. The cross falls off your hand as you move it to your mouth, landing on the floor near you.

“...Lady Sarah? Are you alright?” Amanda asks you.

Unsure yourself, you stop sucking on your hand for second to see what’s wrong. You can see that the lower part of the cross appears to be burned into your skin like a cattle brand. The pain isn’t as bad as it was before, but it feels like your flesh is still sizzling somewhat even though you have removed your hand. The mark being just below your left thumb

You begin to wonder what to say or do to throw them off, especially since you didn’t bring any gloves.
>>
>>22166230
If we reached into our pocket and formed gloves using Shadow Manipulation, would it look unnatural, or could we make a pair that looks just like gloves of black fabric?
>>
>>22166230
Well, the cross has power and burns demons.

Suck our thumb for a second like we burned it and act like we spilled some hot tea on it during the commotion.

"Damn this tea is hot, ow."

Wrap our thumb in a napkin to conceal it.

"Leona, that is not a symbol you should be waving around. I'm a scholar and don't really care what you worship, but there are many people who do not take so kindly to the Church and its adherents."
>>
we have illusion magic cover it up or use our alter form ability.
>>
>>22166230

I wonder. Is it the symbol itself that matters? Or the faith behind it? If the latter...then there is some real potential in this girl.
>>
>>22166280
might as well go for the illusion magics, maybe even just make it look like a splotch mark. Not unlike what spilling boiling water would look like?
>>
>>22166267

You could use shadow control to do such a thing yes.
>>
>>22166296
Yeah, the illusion is probably our best bet. If we don't pull it off, we may have to play it straight with them, though.
>>
>>22166296
Could we drop a Suggestion in there to distract them further from it?
>>
>>22166307
either way, we could use it to our advantage.

they'd probably be even more eager to study under us if we had to play it straight, just sayin.... though the risks involved, considering a pride demon is coming....
>>
>>22166278

this is good, however we should make it sound less like we are waving off her religion. just remind her to keep the symbol hidden from others.

if this is a reaction to our being a demon, then i doubt our magic will work on it for a while. it also suggests that we may not be able to use magic on Leona.

i am tempted to suggest that we use hidden suggestion on them to get them to tell us their true motive behind wanting to learn this. now would be ideal as neither of them are holding the cross... though i leave the actual decision of actually doing it to the others. as i think that the demon knight might actually be here in regards to that... unlikely but possiable.
>>
>>22166319
We could. We pretend hot tea spilled on it, use illusion to make it look like a boiling water burn instead of from a holy symbol. Say "Damn this tea is how, ow. [She spilled some boiling water on her thumb in the commotion]"
>>
>>22166326
>if this is a reaction to our being a demon, then i doubt our magic will work on it for a while
Thats why we don't fuck with it, just the light around it. If it resists even that then we be screwed
>>
[1/2]
You try to use your shapeshifting abilities to hide the scar, but it doesn’t work. No matter how you try to change your hand the burn mark is always there.

“N-nothing... It’s nothing... I just... accidently burnt myself with the tea...” you reply as you use your good hand to reach into one of your pockets to pull out a *glove*, or at least the illusion of a glove made with light control, and slide it up over your hand. It takes some concentration, but you’re able to hold the glove without anything appearing strange.

"Leona, that is not a symbol you should be waving around. I'm a scholar and don't really care what you worship, but there are many people who do not take so kindly to the Church and its adherents." you warn Leona.

“And worse you even managed to burn Lady Sarah’s hand!” Erica says as she reaches down and grabs the cross.

“I-I-I’m sorry Lady Sarah! I didn’t mean to harm you!” Leona says, lowering her head in an apology.

“No no, don’t worry. I’ll be alright.” you reply as you turn on your aura sight to look at the girls. Erica has a bright red aura coming off from her, and judging from her expression you assume she’s angry at Leona. Leona’s aura appears to be a deep orange colour, and you’re unsure what this means. Amanda’s aura is a light green aura, and her current face makes it hard to tell what this emotion is exactly. You also note that she’s reach down and grabbed your cup of tea. All of them appear to be mortal.
>>
>>22166438

[2/2]

“Um... excuse me Lady Amanda? That’s my cup.” you tell her.

“Uh? Oh pardon me! I must’ve absentmindedly grabbed the wrong cup during that little spat!” Amanda says laughing it off. You can notice her aura is now some sort of mess. It is still mainly light green but others such as bright green, yellow, and violet seem to burn at the edges.

“...If you’ll excuse me for a second, I need to talk to my sister about the incredibly foolish things she’s been doing lately in private. We’ll be back in a minute” Erica grabs Leona’s hand, dragging her out of the room to probably another room in the hallway.

“...You may have fooled them, but you’re not going to fool me.” Amanda says behind you.

“W-what do you mean?” you ask Amanda, feeling your heart skip a beat.

Erica takes off her own glove and reaches for the kettle in the middle of the table. She pours some of the water on her hand, showing it to not even be burning. Her aura colour shifts to a dark blue. “I checked your tea as well. The only way one could be burned by such a thing is if they’re body temperature was below freezing. So do you mind explaining this, miss Sarah?”
>>
>>22166438
>>22166443
What happened to the Suggestion?
>>
>>22166477

I had this mostly typed up before I noticed the suggestion idea. Sorry >>
>>
>>22166443

well, there is a reason i said that i had 'little actual practice' as apposed to 'no actual practice'. to make a long story short, i went over my head and ended up with a sort of 'curse' on myself. i can assure you however, that it does not affect others, only myself.

>>22166477
i thought that we were split on it. but it is a good thing we didn't do it as we are now receiving the Spanish inquisition...
>>
>>22166443
"As I said earlier, Little Girl, there are routes to power that do not involve demons or becoming indebted to them. Let's just say that they may not bring you favor with those of an angelic persuasion. You are very clever, I like that, but you have yet to learn patience or caution.

Now, should you wish to learn of magic then you will not speak of this to anyone, if of course you are not interested in such things I can always take my leave."
>>
>>22166443
Well, fuck. This would be what I meant by having to come clean.
"You're a clever girl, what do you think? You've got the clues right in front of you."
>>
>>22166443
shit, we got a smart 'un on our hands gentleman.

i say we let her draw her own conclusions, and then tell us what she thinks... lets see just how observant this girl is...
>>
>>22166443

- Hahaha, oh, that's awkward... ("I'll skin your feet and sprinkle devil's pepper on them")

Then suddenly cackle and while doing so lean towards her, dangerously narrow eyes and whisper:
- Demons don't like overly smart mortals ("You'll scream, I'll eat your soul right here")
I mean, that's the only proper response, right guys? Right?
>>
>>22166443
"...do you know WHY I became a scholar with such knowledge of demons, my dear? Some while ago, I had the misfortune of having a curse placed on me. It was through no fault of my own, naturally, and it has little impact on me in general, but it has proven inconvenient in a number of circumstances. And, despite my best efforts, I have not yet been able to have it undone. I may be mistaken, but I doubt you have anything which can help me. In which case, shall we continue with the lesson, or will you insist on continuing to remind me of my disagreeable past?"
>>
>>22166517
That seems kinda overboard. We like cleverness, makes her a good part of the inner circle of the coven we're making.

Besides all she knows is that a cross burned us, she isn't sure what we are in any way, we can still say we're not a demon, we just aren't the type well liked by the church or angels. Most importantly if we say we're not a demon and imply that she can achieve this power as well she'll do whatever she can to learn from us.
>>
>>22166538

You are right. Better to bullshit her with curse stuff and appearing as some sort of witch than demon.
>>
Your face turns away from the gentle demeanor you usually have as Sarah and into a more serious expression. “As I said earlier, Little Girl, there are routes to power that do not involve demons or becoming indebted to them. Let's just say that they may not bring you favor with those of an angelic persuasion. You are very clever, I like that, but you have yet to learn patience or caution. Now, should you wish to learn of magic and how to safely use it, then you will not speak of this to anyone, if of course you are not interested in such things I can always take my leave."

Amanda chuckles softly to herself, her aura turning into a violet colour. “My my, you are worth everything we’ll be giving you in exchange for the lessons quite indeed. Very well. I won’t speak of this to anyone else. But know that your... condition has made me all the more curious...”

Before the conversation can go on, Erica and Leona enter the room, both of them still having the same colour auras as before. “My apologies Lady Sarah, but we’ll have to end this lesson sooner than we anticipated.” Erica says walking back over to her seat with Leona sitting next to her. “As we agreed upon earlier, the method of your payment can be now. Is there anything you reasonably could want in exchange for these lessons?”

(You can get some gold from all three or ask about something else. If nothing, then I’ll assume it’ll be banked as a favor for later)
>>
>>22166443

First of all we need to know her intentions before dealing with the subject further:
"So you caught me. I am a demon."(Tell me what you are planning to do about it.)

We could also lower the loghts for dramatic effect.
>>
>>22166577

Nothing for the moment. We will think about it. Do not worry, we will not ask anything you are not willing to pay.

Also: What was with that girls odd aura. I'm thinking about what the Queens said: She could be hiding as a person, having convinced everyone that she is a relation. After all, these ARE teens.
>>
At first I was going to suggest getting citizenship for mina, but that would be an obvious link between 'Sarah' and her then from Mina to Brooklyn. In short I advise against it.

Overall I vote save the favor.
>>
>>22166577
"I heard word that a Pride Demon Knight is coming to visit. Could you ask around a bit amongst your family and find what the purpose of this visit is? I'm curious as to what could bring a Knight to town, it's been about 50 years since the last visit if I remember correctly.

The rest of what I have earned from this I shall store for later, favors are better than gold."

>>22166590
I think it's that we're not that experienced at aura reading and don't know what every color means yet.
>>
Yeah, I think saving the favor is the best plan. There's nothing we truly need at the immediate moment.
>>
>>22166640
I've already voted, but I'm curious as all fuck about why in hell a Demonic Fucking Knight is coming to town, if they can find anything out about that.

That thing can probably rip off both our and Mina's head and then stick its hand up our severed necks for an impromptu puppet show.
>>
>>22166640
>>22166645
I'm torn, and thus obstain.
>>
>>22166645
It could be a coincidence, it could be related to our missing body. The important thing to do is KEEP OUR HEADS LOW AND POSSIBLY ASSUME AN ALTERNATE IDENTITY WHILE HE'S HERE JESUS CHRIST.

Seriously, I mean, we might want to have it on record that we left town, then come back in under another alias. You can never be paranoid enough.
>>
>>22166659
Coming back in under an alias might be tricky, what with the Personal Recognition system they have going on.
>>
>>22166670
A new alias. As a refugee. Possibly one we start working on the day after this one to build credibility.
>>
Ask about Demon Knight, we'll have to have as much advantage as possible over him until he comes here and raeps everything into flames & anal anguish.
>>
>>22166670
The only real problem with this is aura vision, we cannot hide ours yet to my knowledge. Which means we would stand out as a being that can use aether. Gtfoing from town for a while on an 'exploration trip' might be for the best.

"I heard word that a Pride Demon Knight is coming to visit. Could you ask around a bit amongst your family and find what the purpose of this visit is? I'm curious as to what could bring a Knight to town, it's been about 50 years since the last visit if I remember correctly.” you say to Erica.

“Oh yes, that rumor the townsfolk are talking about. Yes it’s true. Uncle Langy asked Demon Lord Articus for assistance, mainly because he thinks someone or something has infiltrated his court.” Erica replies.

“Infiltrated his court?” you ask.

Erica nods as she reaches for a biscuit. “Yes. I personally think it’s just part of Uncle showing his age, but there is talks of it amidst the family. I highly doubt this however. Our royal guard are trained specifically to handle such matters, and if our court was infiltrated they would’ve found out the perpetrator a long time ago. I do not have much information on the knight, other than this will be his first task as an official knight, as he was recently prompted from a Squire.”

“Hm... Interesting...” you mutter as you think on that for a few seconds, also grabbing a biscuit cookie to eat.

“Is there anything else you’d like in exchange Miss Sarah?” Amanda asks.

It takes you a few seconds to reply, due to being drowned in your own thoughts. “N-No, I don’t need anything else. I’ll be storing the rest for later, for favors are better than gold after all.”
>>
just a thought could the lamiana deamon be one of the noble girls?

interesting why they keep leaping to daemon and easy for a a daemon to suggest a normal to test if someone is a daemon using a holy symbol (got to remember that trick). I am probably paranoid but it is a possibility
>>
>>22166702

“Words well heeded by any wise merchant. But it seems as our lesson for the day is concluded. Come girls, let us debate.” Amanda says rising. “You may stay here and help yourself to the tea and snacks Miss Sarah, I’ll let the maid know you’re up here.”

“Thank you milady.” you reply to Amanda.

As soon as the girls leave the room, you release the illusion magic and look at your hand. Sure enough the burn mark is a deep red, exactly in the shape the bottom part of the cross was. It was only on your hand about a third of a second, yet it making a mark like this makes you shudder if the cross was applied to your skin for an entire second. The wound still has a minor burning sensation as well, but the pain has largely died down by now.

The entire lecture for the girls took nearly two hours, leaving it to be roughly eight. You nibble on a cookie as you wonder what you should do for the rest of your night.
>>
crap need to learn how to fake a normal aura fast. Also i think we are the target.
>>
>>22166706
Eat a few more biscuits, take some in our bag to bring back to Mina and Brodin.

How are we feeling Aetherically speaking? Are we hungry or anything like that?

Given that BROdin is an angel, technically, he ought to know more about faith, angels, heaven, and so on than we do. We can ask him about it.
>>
>>22166706
Could we take a knife and attempt to peel the skin off the affected area, to replace the holy brand with a flesh wound that our demonic regeneration might be able to recover from?

Oh, and seek council from Mina regardless.
>>
>>22166706
go home and
1) fondle Mina's tits, then
2) work on camouflaging our aura
>>
>>22166706

Oops, forgot the number for this one. [2/2] for that post, but that was probably clear.
>>
>>22166722

As for Aether, the stunt from the previous night left you semi-drained. The emotions the girls gave you during the lecture would probably be equal to a very light snack.

At this point, roughly 2/3rds full.
>>
>>22166727
I agree with this, but we must be discreet in both of these things. After all the first one is to reaffirm our attraction to women, and tits... and not mercenaries...

the second because its useful.
>>
>>22166741
Good to know, we'll go out barhopping or something with Mina after we get home and ask Brodin about angels and stuff.

>>22166727
I second fondling after we get home. We can give her a hug, a light kiss and some groping.
>>
>>22166745
>discreet
>fondling tits
Teach me, oh master.
>>
>>22166756
could always play it off as size comparison, but the real joke was that its hard/impossible to be discreet about it which would end with hopefully amusing things
>>
>>22166759
Damn. I was hoping to pick up some tricks and tips.
>>
If we hadn't just dealt with them, I'd be tempted to go and spy on little miss Cleric and her Sister.

It's very odd for a holy symbol to be seen these days (Also: Did we find out if that was faith or just the fact it's a symbol that hurt us?)
>>
>>22166810
A thought: they (by which I mean, Amanda) might be having us followed. Be sure not to head straight home.
>>
>>22166832

Agreed
>>
inb4 Sandact already had the post typed out again
>>
[1/4]
You decide to head back home for the evening, hopefully Brodin and Mina will be able to answer some of your questions. You do however wrap a few cookies in a napkin and finish off your tea before leaving. It would be *criminal* to leave tea this good just left alone, and you’ve had a lot a teas in your life.

(SKILL THE GM IS ADDING AS IT MAKES CHARACTER SENSE! BROOKLYN ACQUIRED SKILL TEA: GREAT!)

As you head back into your place, you keep a careful eye out on the way back. Making sure Amanda or any goons she could hire are not tailing you. Once you return and enter your home, you can see Brodin sitting sitting in your study chair, lost in thought while he looks at Mina. Mina on the other hand is currently standing in front of your large mirror near the fireplace, dressed in only what you could call ‘underwear’. The bra appears to be no more than a black tube top while the bottom appears to be some sort of underwear made from a single piece of cloth whose exact name eludes you at the moment.

“So Brodin... Should I go with the red or the black?” Mina asks as she shows him two fancy chinese dresses

“Hm... Black.” Brodin says watching Mina. You cannot tell for certain whenever he’s ogling Mina with impure thoughts or he’s giving honest advice.

“Trying on clothes?” you ask as you turn back into yourself.

“Yes! I went out earlier and I found a guy I like too! I want our date to be just as romantic as the one you had!” Mina happily exclaims.
>>
>>22166979

[2/4]

“Good! Good I really hope things turn out well for you! In the meantime... I got myself hurt at the teahouse...” you say as you show your hand.

Mina gasps as she looks at your hand. “Oh my god! What happened!?”

“I was at the teahouse and one of the girls there had a cross from the Church of Illysia, but when it landed on my hand it burned like hell!” you exclaim.

“Silver?” Brodin asks.

“I never got a good luck, but pretty sure. Why?” you ask.

“Silver is a pure metal, so it’s easier for angelic aether to move through it and gold. That cross the student had was blessed against demons. The Church of Illysia holds the belief that all demons are evil, no matter what their intentions may be. It makes perfect sense that when the cross made contact with your skin that it burned you.” Brodin explains.

“...So anything blessed by the chruch burns like hell when demons touch it?” you ask.

“No. The person who owns the object has to have a very strong faith with the church itself. If the people holding any ‘holy’ trinket lacks faith, then they’re only waving around pieces of metal from the church of Illysia.” Brodin explains.

“Will she be alright?” Mina asks.

“Oh yea. It’ll take a bit longer to heal though I’m not sure what other effects if could have though.” Brodin says.
>>
>>22166982
Shit. We got a girl with real faith, we're going to have to find a way to shunt her out of the group if we want to make our coven.

[3/4]

Mina takes a sigh of relief. “Good, so Brooklyn will turn out just fine... Now Brooklyn! As a former male, what do you think looks better!? Red or black dress?” Mina asks picking up a dress in each hand.

“Mina! We have other things to worry about other than the date!” you quickly say wrapping her arms around you. “I found out a Demon Knight is coming into town!”

“Eh!? Did the town already find out about us!?” Mina asks terrified.

“No... At least I don’t think so. They’re calling him in as Langy thinks someone has infiltrated his court. So in the meantime I think it might be useful if we learn to hide ou-” As you look down, you can see Mina looking down at her chest. “...Mina?”

“...Is this your natural form? Hooray I’m bigger!” Mina cheers, pushing her chest up against yours. You can feel her soft lumps of flesh rub up against your own.

“M-Mina!?” you gasp as you see her do this.

Mina doesn’t seem to reply, but rather breaks off the hug and then plants both hands on your chest. You gasp from shock as Mina’s hands seem to almost sink into your soft breasts.

“Hm... They are softer than mine though...” Mina says, sounding a bit concerned as her hands move around.

“A-ah... M-Mina...” you gasp as you feel Mina’s hands grouping your ample breasts, sending shocks throughout your body. You begin to enjoy this before you realize one thing: You’re a male god damnit!

An inner fire lights up in your eyes as both of your hands rush for Mina’s tube top. “Oh yea!? Then let’s see how yours are!” Your hands greedily begin to fondle Mina’s breasts. You can feel that unlike your own, her breasts feel more springy compared to your own.
>>
>>22166993

[4/4]

Mina herself let’s out a small moan as you begin to fondle her breasts. Brodin calmly continues watching the show, simply taking a cookie out and watching with the same face one would make watching a movie.

“S-Sorry! I keep forgetting that you were a guy once!” Mina says then wrapping your arms around you, giving you a small hug and giving you a kiss on the cheek.

“That’s alright Mina... I got a little carried away myself...” you chuckle softly as you return the hug. You then notice Brodin out ot the corner of your eye and ask, “...Are you enjoying the show?”

“Hmm... Yea.” Brodin replies while eating another cookie.
>>
>>22166992

Or to corrupt/befriend her.

After all, it's one thing to 'Know' demons are evil when all you have seen are the Pride Jackasses. It's another to say a friend is evil.
>>
>>22167026
I agree with this plan. We should at the very least try to find out a little more about her. Not sure if I'm too much fan of the corruption part, but that might just be me having read too much hentai.
>>
>>22167042

Corruption hentai is my fetish...I'm afraid in which direction we'll take the role-play
>>
>>22166998
Don't break off the hug.

"Yeah, Pride Demon Knight, apparently he just graduated from being a squire so it could be much worse. But our Auras will probably stick out, I'll look into methods of hiding it.

So you have a date tonight? I hope you have fun, I was planning on going out and finding some emotions to snack on but since you have a date I can do that alone this once, or maybe I'll just stay home and read.

Oh, and black, wear the black one. You could even try shivering a little bit when you're walking together so he gives you his coat."

Then release the hug and when she turns around to try on clothes some more smack her ass, because we can't let her win this one.

>>22167042
It'll be hard to get a fervent believer into magic without some corruption. Not necessarily in a hentai sense, but getting her to believe in the power that we can get her instead of her faith, subverting her beliefs, showing her that the demons have won and you can't beat them with faith, true power comes from other sources.
>>

Yep. We don't need to make her into a Demon Worshiper. Just get her to believe WE are good and that maybe...Demons are people. At least lust demons.

>>22167217
It makes you wonder why she came to the meeting if she is so scared of magic and demons. Bullying from her friends? Perverse curiosity?
>>

Alright I'm back. Typing update

We need to start wearing gloves stat.

Think about it, we can't transform it away, its a distinctive mark in the exact location, we have already been confirmed for something not normal, conclusions can be jumped to supposing the rich merchant girl happened upon us and saw it this would do us bad. Very bad.

Also on another note: she mentioned infiltration in the court yes? Well what if it wasn't something so major eh? What if it was when the ruler of this area happened upon us teaching some kid about demonology, our typical job, doing our typical thing but only after becoming a succubus. This maybe what sent of the pride demon being sent. Just food for thought.
>>
>>22167255
My guess would be that the Lamina is involved in that. We should try to find her before the knight arrives.

When is the next time we have a chance to snoop around in the castle?
>>
>>22167230

In either case, we can use it. If she's bullied, we can be a friend. If she's curious...we can help her fears and feed the curiosity.

I like that. She's both a strong and weak point for this group. She's a moral compass.

[1/2]

"Yeah, Pride Demon Knight, apparently he just graduated from being a squire so it could be much worse. But our Auras will probably stick out, I'll look into methods of hiding it.” you tell her.

“Um... I know that we Belkarians can learn a special kind of mindset that let’s us mute our auras. But I never mastered that technique.” Mina replies.

“Good, maybe that’s a good place to start. Also you have a date tonight? I hope you have fun, I was planning on going out and finding some emotions to snack on but since you have a date I can do that alone this once, or maybe I'll just stay home and read.” you tell her.

“Oh of course! I’ll tell you all about it when I get back home!” Mina happily exclaims as hugs you a bit tighter before letting go.

“Oh, and black, wear the black one. You could even try shivering a little bit when you're walking together so he gives you his coat.” you tell her.

“Oh! OH! That’s *such* a good idea!” Mina gushes as she bends over to pick up her dress.

You look down at her plump, round bottom. As much as you try (AKA: Not attempting to hold back in the slightest), you reach down and give a firm smack to Mina’s ass, casuing her to yelp in surprise. “Now go get ‘im Mina.” you chuckle as you walk over to your study.

“Aye aye captain!” Mina says saluting before putting on her clothing. She gives you a small kiss before she leaves, you and Brodin being the only people remaining.
>>
>>22167368

During the time Mina is gone, you decide to read up a bit more yourself, mainly focusing in the area of Aetheric theory to try and better understand some bit about auras.

Sure enough, you do manage to find something in the book later on about auras. Janette was right in that Aura’s are basically some sort of spiritual exhaust. The book claims that a person’s aura is always a true indicator of one’s emotional state at the current time. Naturally this was proven to you by Lamia, but you assume this is correct when people are not messing around with their auras. The book says nothing about hiding aura’s, but it does give a small list of what colours on auras mean: Fear = Orange, Anger = Bright Red, Bitter = Brown, Compassionate = Pink, Lustful = Deep red, Distrustful = Light Green, Excitement/Joy = Violet, Happy = Vermillion, Hate = Black, Obsessed = Bright Green, Suspicion = Dark Blue, Confused = multitude of colours that compose of conflicting emotions. You find this odd, as you certainly recall seeing more colours than this. Sure enough you check to see this is a rather old book. You sigh as you make a note to yourself to find a better one later.

As you check the clock, you notice that it’s nearly 10:30 PM. Mina left at nearly 8:00 PM. You wonder if you should go track down Mina to see if she’s alright, or if that’s just you being paranoid and go to bed to get a good night’s sleep.
>>
>>22167369
No harm done in at least checking up on her. It's not like she have to know we are concerned about her.
>>
>>22167422

We can check up on Mina, but maybe it would be better to find out where Leona lives and pay her a visit, "ease her thoughts" and generally dig deeper into her yet unformed, malleable, virgin mind?
>>
>>22167470
Yeah, sneaking into the home of a family of true believers at night don't sound like the best of ideas.
>>
>>22167470

She's a Langy, meaning she lives in the noble castle in the center of town.

This was also the reason why her sister was so pissed, as being a member of that church when your uncle is a zealot for demons? Yea.

In the meantime, I think that is it for tonight. I'll be sure to try and continue the thread tomorrow

>>22169759
heavy or not, it's still railroading.
We chose to go on a date in order to form a contract, not fall in love with a guy.
>>
>>22169694

from my opinion, Sand is introducing a valid character point which helps keep us from trying to make yet another 'UNDEFEATED PERFECT CHAMPION' character. the clan we chose is more susceptible to emotional outbursts, and the change to Brooklyn was a complete genetic rewrite, meaning that an entirely different hormone balance and biological systems. so, i makes full sense, and since Brooklyn retained their male mind, there is obviously going to be confusion as his new body has urges foreign to his known way of thinking.
>>
>>22169782
it pretty much just means we become stoicfag or die due to being completely dicked over by our emotions.

>there is obviously going to be confusion as his new body has urges foreign to his known way of thinking.

yea clearly but

>okarians are inherently more emotional

is not that

All of this would be fine if we were informed of this, or even had it hinted at
>>
>>22169782
with the end result of getting over his confusion and accepting that now "she" likes guys (probably even going with straight orientation).

Yea, no thanks.
>>
>>22169777

...b-but it haven't come back today, we chose to pursue other goals (like corrupting young girls into satanic lezdom-erm, I mean, explaining to them bits about demonology) and he happily provided us with adequate responses. Seriously, I think you are just a bit too cautious.

I also liked date part of a session.
>>
Just throwin' this out there. I'd assumed that *every* clan had a different drawback. The drawback of the one we chose was increased emotional volatility. I figured that's what had happened, nothing more, nothing less.
>>
Why did it have to be about a guy becoming a succubus in the first place, honestly? Why couldn't the protagonist just have been a hellborne succubus? That would have removed any creepy discussions about male vs female and it wouldn't have felt skeevy to have them descend into sluttiness, since that is presumably what "real" succubi have always been about.
>>
>>22169857
this quest also would have been fine as just demon lord quest and we wouldn't have this discussion
>>
>>22169825
>with the end result of getting over his confusion and accepting that now "she" likes guys (probably even going with straight orientation).

Just like every other TG fapfiction ever written. Which is all this ever was, to the OP.
>>
>>22169874

But there's tasteful ecchi and /d/ickery, I don't see why you guys have to be so defensive about whole thing. I for one trust this GM to not fuck anything up.
>>
>>22169888
Ture, I was expecting a straight up story/rpg quest where we concentrate on conquering and infiltrating (you know all the good RPG stuff). not fetish fiction.
>>
>>22169889
Well, we shall see how things turn out?
I haven't completely given up on this quest.
>>
>>22169901
>not fetish fiction

There's been an overwhelming amount of non-fetish content in this Quest so far. Dunno which one you guys have been reading.
>>
This >>22169918
>>
I reiterate:

Succubus

Lord

Quest.

Please note the "succubus" part.

suc·cu·bus, noun \-bəs\
:a demon assuming female form to have sexual intercourse with men in their sleep

Having sex with men was always going to happen. Falling in love is preventable because we, the players control the actions of the character.
>>
>>22170002
And here I thought it was going to go beyond assumption and stereotypes the name implied.
My bad.
>>
>>22170025
And it has. Bottom line, though - if you don't like it? Feel free to fuck off. Nobody's making you stick around.
>>
Why does this discussion ALWAYS have to start whenever a quest involves female sexuality in any way? Whenever a male protagonist fucks some chick, be it out of attraction or for profit, /tg/ always cheers them on. But a female actually enjoying sex? Maybe even falling in love? GET THAT FETISH SHIT OUT OF HERE WE WANTED A SERIOUS QUEST
>>
>>22170061
using the definition of a succubus is going beyond that definition? right. whatever.
>>
>>22170105
if it makes you feel better, I don't follow
>a male protagonist fucks some chick,
quests like that.
>>
>>22170105
because it is never just female sexuality here, it is almost always male forcibly becoming female sexuality, and for this you even toss in the random disadvantage
>>
Eh. I personally was a bit dissappointed when that "drawback" was revealed as well. Felt a bit... I don't know. It felt like Sandact was trying to gently nudge the quest into his fetish territory.

But the thing is, we as players can circumvent that by making choices. So Brooklyn has a dinner date. So fucking what? Doesn't mean we have to let her fall in love.
>>
>>22170156
Honestly, I'd blame the anons who didn't think to ask what the disadvantages of being an Okarian were in the first thread.
>>
>>22170246
While I agree with you
>Doesn't mean we have to let her fall in love.
I'm not sure if we can.
The previous dinner date was very much railroaded and we couldn't give any input.
>>
>>22170270

See, I wasn't there for that part of the RP. Was it really that railroady?
>>
>>22170326

i don't think it was too railroady. sure it consisted of one update, but nothing that i don't think might of happened occurred. also, it was quite amusing, certainly a change of pace, but a pleasant one.
>>
>>22170365

As long as it doesn't end with Brooklyn heedlessly in love with the guy I'm ok with it. As far as I'm concerned, bitches is still the objective of the quest, not dudes.
>>
>>22170326
as >>22170365 it was one update for it.
And the update after that Sand made Brooklyn sound like a possessive/jealous girlfriend when talking with Mina (about Mina offering to date the guy).
So it doesn't set a good track record.
>>
Will you guys calm your tits already.

we could always turn him into an aide succubus and break him to us.... if it is that big of a problem...

>>
>>22171532

>>
>>22171532

I like it.
>>
>>22171532
would force conversion work like that?
It's something to think about then.
>>
>>22172066

Do we even have a forced conversion power?
>>
>>22172266

not at the moment, but eventually we should be able to learn it... if we get lucky...

if we need the subject to be willing, then improving suggestion to be able to get people to provide unquestioning loyalty for a brief duration, then we could exploit that as a loop-hole...

of course i am only providing the theoretical hows, not endorsing the idea.
>>
>>22172266
No we do not. As the Queens currently are they can't make any more Succubi, from willing or unwilling people, and we definitely can't do it. So that's an idea for later, currently all the Succubi we will have in our service are those we find and ally with ourself.
>>
I'll drop in and say this about the 'hidden' flaw. This was something I meant to say at the start, but in oversight I completely forgot about. The same was true about the Belkarian flaw, which was supposed to be a major part.

I apologize for that accident
>>
>>22172818

As for the flaw being fetish territory, it wasn't my intent. As I said earlier (I think), the demon queens for this quest are basically characters
from an old Quest. Believe it or not, Oksana was the main character in that as well. Main excuse was that people ended up making his emotions extreme and was very good at acting. Hence, I activated that flaw within her. Even in the "second" part of the quest, she still had this flaw along with all Okarians.

A bit "wtf sandact" here. It was my intention to hide this flaw, and when I fucked up I tried to blend it in as well as I could. I deeply apologize.
>>
>>22172818
>I apologize for that accident

"Accident". Yeah right
>>
>>22172961

Oh yea, said 'flaw' wasn't activated until she became a 'Demon' queen herself.

I'll shut up now. I'll post more later tonight. In the meanwhile you can always yell at me in the IRC on rizon at #SuccubiDemonLordCYOA
>>
>>22173010
Look, he said straight up there was no choice without flaws. We didn't find out the flaw beforehand, our bad. You're going to keep being an ass about it, feel free to step out.

>>22172961
I believe you mean 'was not my intention'.
>>
>>22172961

*It WASN'T my intention to hide this flaw.

god damnit I hate when I do that.
>>
>>22173039
Not that Annon, but I thought our flaw was that we suck at physical combat, and I thought the Belkain flaw was that they sucked a magical combat.
>>
>>22173039
>You're going to keep being an ass about it, feel free to step out.

This is the first time I posted about it. Are you trying to imply it's only been one person complaining?

It's not.
>>
I have an idea, how about everyone just calms the fuck down so we can continue to enjoy what has so far been a well-written quest of gathering power and murdering pirates?
>>
>>22173157
Regardless of whether or not you are the only one, what it comes down to is you are complaining about something that to be changed would require a large retcon.

On the other hand its incredibly simple to get around Sand has even had characters outright say one possible answer for it. All we have to do is plan around it.
>>
>>22173423

This. When was the last time Brooklyn even had sex?
>>
>>22173557
Well prior to the beginning of the quest, if ever, by the looks of things.
>>
>>22173441
I don't think anyone is complaining for the large retcon.
Just for the OP not to force the story, like he did.
>>
>>22174183

Nah, he just wants her to accept her role as a succubus, with all what it entails.
>>
I think I'll try to explain a few things before I go on, hopefully to help settle some fears about the Okarian emotion thing to stop people from jumping the gun on that.

I admit, I did fuck up not explaining it to you guys sooner, but such a flaw for them was always in my notes. I didn't explain the Belkarian and Okarian flaws (emotion for Okarians and promises for Belkarians), as when I was doing that part I was somewhat rushing to get that done and worried people would leave. If you want, I can post the original jot notes I had of all clans. It clearly states these flaws and I haven't altered them since the Quest started. Had to take at face value on the internet I know, but if you want to wager me getting a two week ban if I lied about such a thing, then I'd gladly accept it as I have nothing to hide.

Secondly, as for getting emotions for Lance, you don't need to worry about the character being powerless to resist any advances by him. If there was a real threat of a character losing control, I'd ask for a dice roll. If you guys still want to use him only for the mercs and connections, then I'll make mention of Brooklyn attempting to suppress his feelings towards Lance.

As for the date, well the main reason I skipped most except the end was because I thought the main meat of it would come after it. If you want me to do the dinner scene with Lance next time, then I'll do so. I just assumed everyone would be fine with skipping over the dinner, so apologies if I fucked up in that regard.
>>
>>22176055
I didn't have any major problems with anything. Again, Brooklyn's shown more interest in Mina than Lance. But, I have been curious about the flaws of the other clans and wouldn't mind reading over those notes.
>>
>>22176055
I am curious what are the drawbacks and abilities of the science! clan. (forgot name)
as that seemed to be close 2nd choice.
>>
>>22176284
They can't use traditional magic, their mana fuels their SCIENCE! instead.
>>
>>22176299
only that drawback?
Nothing like Okarian emotion thing or Belkarian mini-oaths?
>>
>>22176299
No, the esoteric drawback. Like our emotional volatility, the Belkarians promises, the Aides ease to break, and the Gemelli's mind link.
>>
>>22176055
I've not been one of the ones complaining, but I did choose to be an Okerian specifically because it was described as its main drawback being "not that good at the physical stuff." while the Belkarians were described as having the same drawback as the Miyians of nearly no magical power. Every other race has one drawback, except the races of the us and our ally, who have two. No offense, but that's suspicious as hell. Even if it is true, it's still rather unfair, as we made what was arguably the most important desiciion in the game on the basis of the wrong information.
>>
>>22176124

Very well

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1cZI2PmlI9gw15WxtYrkGIY2GmYtO4vEXJiAfl_VFF5c/edit

All of these are copy and pasted directly from my Quest Notes thread. Mainly there for my own review. Aside from one con that I thought I took out from Miyians when I started the thread (the notes document was mostly done up a week before the quest, most of it is system and quest ideas), everything else is intact. But as promised I didn't alter those notes in any way otherwise, and kept that Miyian thing in as part of my promise of not editing the document.
>>
>>22176360

Erp, quest notes document, not thread. Derp.
>>
>>22176349
And after finding out the Queen of the Aides was hiding her main drawback the first thing you should've done is ask every other Queen if they had something like that. Hell, I missed the first thread but that's the first thing I thought to do after reading that bit.
>>
>>22176055
>Secondly, as for getting emotions for Lance, you don't need to worry about the character being powerless to resist any advances by him. Just speaking for myself, I would prefer if the emotional instability can just be ignored, or shuffled away, because I hate the idea that the main character has these uncontrollable urges that player input can't change.

Random rolling for romance? Let's not.

Actually, unless there's player input saying a big majority want it, I'd say just drop the romance idea out. We want to awesome adventure aspect with pirates and shit, not the main character swooning like a schoolgirl over some dude.
>>

>>
>>22176400

>>
>>22176515

Agreed. I don't mind it too much.
>>
>>22176392

That was asked, and the answer is yes. But for other Succubi it's much harder to pull off on. As in be tortured for days before the ideal of slavery is more appealing than being tortured anymore. Or something equilivant.

>>22176433

Assuming roughly the same choices were made aside for being clan Gemelli, you're mental detection link would click in right after consuming the snow Pirates.

>>22176400

I mainly expected this myself. Depending on what people vote for you could have romance with Lance, a bromance (Good friends, but not romantically involved), just use him for his connections, or anything you want. You all vote to control character actions. If a character feels a certain way (like Brooklyn did during a date), then vote to suppress the feelings and move on. Such things would steal control away from the character. But if someone dropped and emotion control bomb on you, forcing you to love someone intensely? Or if someone murdered Brooklyn's loved ones in front of their eyes then dared her to attack them? THEN I will call for a roll to control yourself. Basically extreme situations, and Lance asking you after a day one night to come to his bed? I won't say "roll to say no" regardless of how romantic it was (unless someone drops an emotion control bomb on you). This that a bit more clear?
>>
>>22176444
I want to clarify my post here.
I don't mind the emotional instability per say, (as getting carried away in the moment can be interesting, like we did in combat with all the blood-lust).
Just to ignore the romantic ones.
>>
>>22176533
Not really, seemed like they covered basic archtypes first before getting into more exotic stuff. Hell, that difference was the reason I voted for Okarin. Had I known the actual breakdown of abilities I would have voted for either AYARIANS or MIYIAN. Because they don't have the type of bullshit drawbacks that I desperately voted to avoid. And then we got stuck with anyway.
>>
>>22176590
>You all vote to control character actions. If a character feels a certain way (like Brooklyn did during a date), then vote to suppress the feelings and move on. sounds reasonable. but..
>>22176636
what he said.
>>
>>22176615

Ayarians do have two flaws as well. The headache is a minor one (-10 to rolls), but the migraine would basically take the character out of commission. Mind you this is only the case for pushing PSI powers above and beyond what the character is capable of.

As for Miyians... I thought the ability of being unable to use magic was such a huge flaw that it was worth only one. Ayarians can use PSI power, which is different from magic but still very good. Miyians on the other hand cannot use any magic at all (the drain and shapeshifting being the only thing close to magic abilities) and rely almost purely on the devices they make.

>>22176636

At most I planned to make a Pride demon go "RESPECT ME" with magic social attacks. Respect doesn't mean love.
>>
>>22176636
I wouldn't worry too much. Psychic or magical manipulation like that would be temporary at best. Besides, I doubt it'll happen.

>>22176669
>>22176689
Considering my primary criteria for determining which class was as follows:
1. Does it have some weird social/mental drawback thingy if so go to A, if not go to B
A) Fuck that class with a rake regardless of advantages
B) Consider that class in respect to other classes.
I would much prefer you let us make the flaw irrelevant in some way or exaggerate our physical weakness than put us through this.
>>
>>22176533
Considering that two classes were describe as
>This class has physcic powers but isn't good at magic
>This class has good technoligy but isn't good at magic
Then I would say that assuming that:
>This clan is great at magic but not so good at fistfights
>This clan is great at science but not so good at magic
was legit is entirely reasonable.
>>
>>22176817
true, I only managed to catch the first thread middle way through (so I couldn't vote on the clan).
But, I thought our physical weakness would have been more of a drawback, so I found us wielding an axe, rather weird.
>>
>>22176897

I think 'Weakness' in the case of physical means 'By demon standards', not 'By human standards'
>>
>>22176910

This.

Even though Brooklyn is physically weaker than a demon, he'd still beat the crap out of nearly any mortal in terms of physical abilities.
>>
>>22176927
I would much rather be at mortal level in physical skill at least initially than deal with this drawback. Is there any way to XP this away somehow?
>>
>>22176957

Honestly? I'd rather keep the drawback. It's characterful and not really THAT much trouble (Especially compared to being an Aide or such)
>>
>>22176957
Well, personally I don't see a reason to change this and have no idea why there's being such a huge fucking deal made of it. He has a harder time controlling his emotions, it's not like he is completely incapable of controlling them.
>>
>>22177052
Of course its not as bad as being and Aid. But I would never have voted for the class had I known, because it is the type of disadvantage that I personally loathe above all others.
>>
>>22177071

Agreed. It's already been mentioned there is a way to prevent it from happening mostly. I don't really see it being that big a thing. It's emotions, not all mind control.

And I'm willing to bet we are STILL more resistant to spells to do it than a baseline human.
>>
>>22176957
While I agree with you anon. Let's just see how OP takes things, now that he is aware of our objections.
>>
>>22177112

It’s been awhile since Mina has come back, in fact she should’ve come back from her date by now. You’re not worried about her physically it’s just that... she’s not the sharpest tool in the shed.

“Going to find Mina.” you tell Brodin as you put on your coat.

“Have fun. Mind if I make some tea for myself?” Brodin asks.

“Be my guest.” you reply as you leave your house.

It does take some time to try and trace Mina’s footprints. Her Eastern style shoes make a bit easier to pick out her footprints. But when you get downtown, you need to ask around in order to try and find Mina and her date. Eventually you manage to get the location of where Mina and her date went off to from a man whose lips were loosened with alcohol.

As you walk over to the place, you notice that it’s in the housing area of the town, fairly close to where you live.

“421... 421... Ah here it is...” you say as you sneak up to the house, using darkness control to warp the night around you so that spotting you becomes much more difficult. You sneak around to a window of the house, and peer in through the window. As you look in, you can see male clothing and Mina’s clothing scattered along the floor. In the bed of the room, you can see a man sleeping next to Mina, while Mina is sprayed out over the bed. Both of them under thick blankets.

You can feel yourself your blush as you avert your gaze from the window. “A-Alright... that’s not uncommon... I mean Mina, unlike me, is a healthy Succubus. For her this isn’t a big deal at all...”

Part of you wonders just how exactly you should feel about this or whenever or not to talk to Mina about this tomorrow, or just mind your own damn business and let her live her life as she chooses.
>>
>>22177090

Again I'm so sorry. TBH after I nearly finished the first thread I headdesked a few times due to me forgetting to mention it.

I did intend for it to be a fairly minor thing though, as I tried to give each clan a major and minor con (Or in the case of Miyians, one very large one).
>>
>>22177200
We can talk to her tomorrow, she seems to be fine.
Just to be sure, use aura sight to check things.
>>
>>22177200
Nothin to see here, move along people. Let's go home and chill with the Reaperman.
>>
>>22177240
If it is a minor con can we spend XP to make it a nonissue?
>>
>>22177071
>Well, personally I don't see a reason to change this and have no idea why there's being such a huge fucking deal made of it.

Pretty sure some peoples' rape alarms set off the moment emotional instability was mentioned.
>>
>>22177200
She said she'd tell us about the date when she got back. And I don't see why we should stop her, we're not her mother. Or are we?
>>
>>22177309
Oh, but we're probably a bit jealous of whoever he is course, because Mina's great. And jealous of her, because we can't fuck anything (as far as Mina knows we can't drain girls, but that's not exactly proof enough to risk killing somebody). Maybe we should go practice control of the draining .
>>
>>22177272
Before you set off back home, you use your Aura sight to look things over. You can see Mina’s aura is a bright Vermillion colour, meaning that she seems to be happy, while the man next to her seems to have a Bright Green aura, meaning obsession of some sort. However you notice the man’s aura is weaker than most other mortals. This makes sense from what you infered about Aether. Mina must’ve devoured some of his aether, so in response the man’s aura in itself is weakened to. A fair compromise.

“Nothing else to see here.” you say as you head back home, yawning as you do so. You probably won’t be able to stay up much longer, so you’d best go to bed soon.

“I’m back.” you say entering your house again.

“How’s Mina?” Brodin asks while passing you a cup of tea.

“...Let’s just say she had a good date.” you reply as you take the tea. You mind wonders if you should ask Brodin anything before you hit the sack.
>>
>>22177477
Work on meditation to reign in our emotions. Should be our top priority.
>>
>>22177477
ask him about our mortal corpse.
Is it dengorous that someone has it?
Can they use it against us?
>>
>>22177477
Yeah, about why somebody would steal our body and what they could do with it. That shit's probably serious.
>>
>>22177495

I think Aura control is probably more vital than emotion control for the moment.
>>
>>22177477
Ask him about our corpse, it going missing, all of that jazz. See if he can provide any insight on this.
>>
>>22177495
>>22177516
no reason not to practice both.
As aura is directly connected to emotions.
If we can control ourselves we could potentially control the aura.
>>
>>22177516
I suppose, but we have to ask queens about that. I just want this emotional shit done with a soon as possible.
>>
>>22177504
Do this. This is important.
>>
[1/2]

“Hey Brodin, I’ve been meaning to ask you something.” you say after sipping your tea. “Before I turned into a Succubus, I technically did die. However I’ve learned that the trap I was in somehow took my soul and basically made the demon body I’m in right now. However during this process my original male body was left behind. I meant to come back for it later, but when I went back to get it, my body was gone. You know much more about this death stuff than I do, does that mean I’m in any danger?”

“...So you’re saying when you died, the trap trapped your spirit, then flash cloned you a demon body that is basically you but only female, leaving your male body behind?” Brodin asks.

“Basically.” you reply.

Brodin leans against the wall, lost in thought as he appears to be thinking. “I will say it has some significance yes. Your soul used to inhabit that body, so at the very least it’d serve as some anchor for spellcasting.”

“Anchor?” you ask.

“Basically if you want to use a ritual spell against someone, then having a close personal possession greatly aids the ritual spell and may even be an ingredient. And your old dead body? That’s the closest possession you could probably have.” Brodin replies.
>>
>>22177769

[2/2]

“...But I don’t know any spellcasters personally. Why would someone want to do that?” you ask.

“Your guess is as good as mine.” Brodin replies sipping his tea. “My guess is that they wanted to try and kill you in that trap. But when they failed, they basically took your body for magical purposes. Why someone would go through the effort when they could just hire a demonic assassin to kill you and get it over with baffles me. Heck, if someone is capable of pulling such a ritual off, they’re most likely able to beat you right now.”

“Anything the body could be used for?” you ask.

“Zombie chow, sex toy, parts for necromantic war machines, trophy... There’s a lot of things. I’m just stumped why someone would go through the effort of doing this. There has to be a reason for this, I know of it. But in all honesty this is the first time I’ve ever heard someone doing something like this.” Brodin tells you.

(Anything else you want to ask?)
>>
I vote we develop a social spell that detects and counters our Okerain emotional instability magically to bring us back to human norms. We use our magic ability to negate the impact of a suprise flaw a lot of people hate and take a hit to effective Aether capacity. Then we forget this whole fiasco ever happened.
>>
>>22177780
"Well, I must have pissed someone off something fierce. It's possible they're going to want to use sympathetic magic to manipulate me, maybe they knew about the Shrine and wanted some level of control over the new me.

This sorta thing falls under your purview, could the link go both ways? Letting me locate, destroy, or otherwise affect my body?"
>>
>>22177780
"If my body could be used as an anchor to affect my soul, could the connection be established in reverse? Could I use some kind of spell to track down my body instead?"
>>
>>22177780
'Is there any way I could use magic to track my body down? If it's got a link to me there should be something that does that, right?"
>>
>>22177780
>“Zombie chow, sex toy, parts for necromantic war machines, trophy...

Oh God we're going to be fighting a zombie/undead version of ourselves.

Or an army of clones of ourself!
>>
>>22177811
While I agree with you, this isnt the time.
>>
>>22177811
It's really not a big deal. Our emotions are more intense than usual, we can live with that. It adds depth to our condition as a succubus, and unless we're getting hit by emotional magic we can resist and suppress the emotions if we don't want them or if they're pointing us in a direction that we don't want.
>>
>>22177860
>>22177882
yea ask this.
OR even better, contact the queens (we know the communication spell right?) and ask them.
>>
>>22177933
That's an option if Brodin doesn't have an answer for us, but as we're talking to him right now, we may as well refer to him first before expending Aether on the ritual.
>>
>>22177780
Knowing about the queens is pretty suspicious. Knowing when they're all asleep (really, there are 9 of them and they're that hungry and they don't sleep in shifts so they don't miss food?) and it's safe to retrieve our body is freaky. The possibility that they knew what would happen and weren't actually trying to kill us is downright scary. I suspect this is so far above our power level it's not worth bothering with at the moment.
>>
>>22177998
I'm actually surprised that they havens noticed the culprit.
I thought they could see who is in the shrine.
>>
>>22178022
Of course, they could just be lying to us and hiding that they have other servants.
>>
>>22178054
Yeah, but what could they possibly have to gain?
>>
>>22177927
Let me put it this way, I tend to play characters who's mind and soul are there own. In 40K. A setting that activly tries to murder anyone who tries to be there own man, and there are plenty of GMs who will put in extra effort to make rig the game against me further. I do it anyway. For me, learning that I have a suprise drawback that messes with characters mind, in no matter how small a fashion, is a massive fucking deal. Regardless of actual gameplay impact.
>>
"Well, I must have pissed someone off something fierce. It's possible they're going to want to use sympathetic magic to manipulate me, maybe they knew about the Shrine and wanted some level of control over the new me. This sorta thing falls under your purview, could the link go both ways? Letting me locate, destroy, or otherwise affect my body?" you ask.

“Relax. There is no spell that would allow someone to vaporize you on the other of the realm if that’s what you’re concerned about. I mean voodoo can do some nasty damage yea, but I *highly* doubt that this is the case here, as before the effort to make a voodoo doll of quality like this would be better spent on hiring someone to kill you.” Brodin takes a snip of his tea again. “As for tracking it... I think you may be able too. I don’t know the ritual to do so, as I usually get my information from above on where to find people. It’d certainly let you locate your body, but I’m not sure what else.” Brodin replies. “As for knowing the shrine... That what it seems like. I know that you died from bloodloss due to a piece of rebar that punctured your liver and kidney, but not really why you’d go to the trap area.”

(Anything else?)
>>
>>22178093
I get you anon, and we will work together to make Brooklyn his own succubus man.
But, all in its own time
>>
>>22178093
Quest has started. Argument suspended.
>>
>>22178117
how are we doing on aether and time?
>>
>>22178117
If we have time it might be a good idea to track down the guy who told us about that shrine are in the first place.
>>
>>22178117
It's late, go to bed. I don't think there's anything too urgent to wait for tomorrow.
>>
>>22178149

In terms of time, Brooklyn's main job of teaching Brothen is at 1:00 PM tomorrow. Right now it's about 11:15 PM.
>>
>>22178219
Yeah, looks like it's time to fuckin sleep.
>>
>>22178022

Was asked before. They claimed that after the ritual to make you into a demon lord, they all fell asleep due to exhaustion. Your body was gone when they woke up.

Whenever or not you believe this is up to you.
>>
>>22178219
Let's get some sleep, make sure to leave room in our bed so that Mina can come in after her date and snuggle. We can study in the morning.
>>
>>22178129
Considering that we are now discussing what actions to take, my suggested action is completly appropriate. You may feel free to disagree about timing and argue that we have other things we need to do first, bit you do not get to prevent me from suggesting actions to deal with what I consider to be a critical problem for our character.
>>
>>22178273
I was only replying to that one singular post. Not the entire chain of posts that came before it. You're entitled to your opinion just like everyone else here is entitled to theirs.

this
>>
“Well it’s been a long day. I’m going to go to bed and get some sleep for tomorrow.” you tell Brodin.

“I think I’ll head out to the pub a grab a drink.” Brodin replies finishing his tea off.

“...Don’t you mean a few dozen?” you ask.

“Har har, but I keep good track of my drinking expenses.” Brodin says shifting his cloak.

You simply stare at him, unwilling to dignify what he just said with a response.

“...What? Anywho, night Brookie.” Brodin says as he leaves your place.

“...Reapers... I swear...” you mutter as you strip down to your underwear and go back to sleep.

******

Next morning it takes about a half hour for Mina to come back your house while you finish up with your morning chores. Brodin is unconscious on your bed, having found him on the mat in front of the fireplace unconscious when you woke up.

“Goooooood mooooorrrrnnnniiiinnnggg!” Mina says as she bursts through the door of your house.

“Morning Mina. How’d the date go?” you ask as you mix your morning tea.

“Oh it went great! It was so nice to go out and see the town rather than being trapped in the bar all the time! First we ate, then we went dancing, and then we went around town for nearly all morning until I came back to your place!”

Hm... You begin to see some inaccuracies in this statement alright. But you wonder what exactly, if anything, you should ask her about her date?

(Current time: 7:30 AM)
>>
>>22178430
Very well. Let me simply state that I know someone who has emotional control issues similar to what OP has described for our protagonist. In my opinion it has destroyed almost all chance of her leading a productive life.
>>
>>22178579
Give her a hug and a kiss like usual.

"Oh, that sounds lovely. Did you remember to do the shivering thing so that he gave you his coat? Did you kiss? Tell me everything, don't just gloss over it or leave anything out."
>>
>>22178579
Spent ALL morning going around town?
right.
>>
>>22178638
what? Can you make it sound less girly?
>>
>>22178579
Don't ask her anything intrusive. Her business is her business.
>>
>>22178599
Fair enough. I know people with mental issues too and I understand where you're coming from. But, the way I read it Brooklyn is perfectly capable of controlling his emotions, he's just much more passionate than he used to be. The con being named "Flair for the Dramatic" might have something to do with that.
>>
>>22178579
"You don't have to tell me, but please don't lie."
There's like two people in the whole world we can even sort of trust right now. That's precious.
>>
>>22178758
Yea, it's important to resolve trust issues we may have.
We basically told them everything about us.
>>
>>22178579
Tease her. Maybe abuse her promise flaw just a little bit. "Do you promise to leave nothing out?" and so on
>>
You smile as you put down your tea, then walk over to Mina giving her a small hug and kiss. "Oh, that sounds lovely. Did you remember to do the shivering thing so that he gave you his coat? Did you kiss? Tell me everything, don't just gloss over it or leave anything out."

“Oh yea! I definitely tried near the end of our date and it worked PERFECTLY! Our first stop was the Adamant Door, mainly because Mr. Ironfist gave us a discount on our food and after we had a dance on the floor! It was SO nice to be the one dancing rather than the dancer for once!” Mina happily exclaims.

“I bet. You didn’t make a promise like last time I hope?” you half jokingly say to Mina while passing her some breakfast tea.

“Pfft! Believe me, I am not to make open ended promises like that again. One thing all Belkarians have in common is how one keeps their promises. But enough of my clan.” Mina says. “After we left, he simply took me on a detailed tour around town. It sounds simple, but believe me I was very happy with that!”

“That’s it?” you ask turning on your aura sight.

“That’s it!” Mina says, showing her aura to be an orange colour. Fear. You wonder why it’s that colour, but maybe she’s afraid of you finding out the truth for some reason?

You look at her for a few seconds with a simply normal glare.

It doesn’t take long for Mina to crack under this simple pressure, her aura turning to a grey colour. “...Fine. After the food we went back to his place. On the way there, I did the coat trick, got invited in, then had sex for about an hour. I... kinda didn’t want to tell you that, as I kinda thought it would be insensitive of me to talk about such a thing when you used to be a guy yourself...”
>>
>>22178894
"Mina, I don't mind you doing the succubus thing, it'd be crazy and insensitive for me not to expect it.

You have to understand, I'm in a very confusing period of my life right now. And you're one of the few people I trust entirely. I'm not going to ask you to promise me you'll always tell the truth, but if you have to choose between hurting my feelings and being insensitive or telling the truth I would like the truth."

After that give her a hug and let her know that it's alright.
>>
>>22178894
"Why? I mean, don't get me wrong you're very attractive but I'm not about to tell you who you can have sex with. Besides, we're freaking Succubi."
>>
>>22178894
Yea why? but add a dash of >>22178971
>>
>>22177477
>guy is obsessed
Oh this romance will turn out well
>>
>>22179018
It doesn't seem like much of a romance, more of a date+sex thing. Also he just finished having sex with a succubus, there's going to be a bit of obsession, at least for a while, after that.
>>
>>22178971
You're a good writer, but Brooklyn was a man until less than a week ago. Wouldn't she be more...tomboyish?
>>
>>22178894
"Don't worry about it. Succubi and sex kind of go together. I'm not really comfortable with it yet, but it's not like I have to do it."
>>
>>22179073
One would think so, but her personality does suffer from Player Characer-itis.
>>
>>22178894

"don't worry about that. and i already knew about your 'fun' last night. i must say you're quite the animal when it gets down to it, aren't you?"

nothing lightens the mood like a bit of light ribbing...
>>
>>22179073
Yeah, some of the responses have been overly girly. But they do seem to involve a lot of hugging the sexy succubus, so they can't be that bad.
>>
>>22179147
Maybe OP can do less of copy pasting and more of adapting.
>>
>>22179177
She'll think we were spying on her having sex or something. I'm not sure that will go down well.
>>
>>22179177
Don't say this. We don't want to seem like an untrusting stalker.
>>
>>22179272
I think we can tell her that we knew because we went to check if she was ok when she didn't come back. That was a perfectly innocent and even nice thing to do. It just sure as hell doesn't sound like it when phrased like that. So yeah, don't tell her like that.
>>
[1/2]
"Mina, I don't mind you doing the succubus thing, it'd be crazy and insensitive for me not to expect it. Just that... It’s a very confusing time in my life, being turned into a female demon of all things. But you’re one of the few people I feel as if I can trust admist all this madness. I won’t be an asshole and demand that you promise me never to lie to me, but between remaining ignorant and knowing the truth of something? As a scholar and your friend, I will always prefer the truth. Don’t worry about my feelings if you’re concerned about telling me the truth, as I always say that if I’m going to die, then I don’t want want to die ignorant." you say putting your hand on her shoulder. "I mean, don't get me wrong you're very attractive but I'm not about to tell you who you can have sex with. Besides, we're freaking Succubi."

Mina puts down her tear and wipes her eyes a bit before giving you a hug. “Alright, I’m sorry. I mean I was just so happy to find not only a good friend up here, but probably one of the best ones I’ve ever met. That last Succubus I met when I first came here told me to ‘piss off before you ruin everything.’ I was afraid of losing you as well if I told you about the sleeping with him bit.” She says quotes the other Succubus said in an accent.

You give Mina a pat on the back. “Don’t worry Mina, it’d probably take a lot to damage our friendship.” You then reach back for your tea. “...So how was it?” you ask while blushing red.

Mina simply replies by having a big smile on her face and rolling her eyes while sipping her tea, her aura being a Deep Red.
>>
>>22179329

[2/2]

“...Like that huh?” you ask while still blushing.

“Well it was certainly nice, but I think he wanted to sleep with me so he could brag to his friends at work. Still, he was pretty cute so... But don’t think of me as a slut! I mean yea sex feels good, but it’s not something I do all the time like people generally stereotype Succubi as!” Mina quickly explains.

You simply give a small laugh. “Relax Mina. I wouldn’t dream of thinking of you in that way.”

(Wat do?)
>>
>>22179352
She's STILL trying to stop us from stereotyping succubi? We're probably the most unstereotypical succubus there is.
>>
>>22179352
We haven't really practiced a lot with our Light magic. We should do that. Nothing says "don't fuck with me" like shooting lasers.
>>
>>22179329
Does she know that Brooklyn is a Demon Lord?
Maybe want to tell her that we want all the succubbi to work together. That's the only way to free ourselves from slavery and beat the Pride Demons.
>>
>>22179408

Maybe she's being considerate of the our manitude and reminding us that we don't have to go down that route either?
>>
>>22179352
It's a bit early for going out for a snack. Let's study a bit and contact Oksana and learn some rituals. Maybe one for tracking our body, a few for showing to our coven and a couple nice practical ones.
>>
>>22179438
Yea, she is probably saying that, it's only her preference. And that we shouldn't force ourselves to think thats how ALL the succubi should be.
>>
>>22179456
yea this ^
Contact Oksana.
>>
>>22179424
I think we told her the whole story about the shrine, so that would include being a Lord.
But now that I think about it, how the hell are we going to get all the succubi to work together when most of them are Broken to pride demons?
>>
>>22179456

i think that we need to 'earn' the ritual spells. so another offering might get us another one.
for what to choose, we would want the scrying ritual to find our body.
though we could always use some practice doing ritual spells, so why not.

>>22179498
simple, we kill the one they are broken to and they will be freed
>>
>>22179498
Kill the pride demons, then put them back together.
If they must be attached (emotionally) to someone. It is better that someone be us.
>>
>>22179505
It's not quite that cut and dried. IIRC killing a Succubi's master frees them but they're pretty severely mentally scarred by the experience.
>>
I rather think we should practice our Light magic and start looking into making inroads on putting together-slash-expanding our private library. Hunting for information in the Public library will only get us so far, and will probably get us noticed more by Roger.
>>
>>22179555
that is why we put them back together!
simple.
>>
[1/2]
“Well, it’s a bit early to go grab something to eat for myself. I’ve been meaning to ask the demon queens about a few more things, so I’m going to do the ritual to summon them out so I can ask a few questions. Maybe learn a new ritual if I’m lucky.” you say.

“Oh! Need any help!?” Mina asks eagerly.

“Sure. Roll up the mat and get the candles. ...Oh and make sure Brodin doesn’t wake up and puke all over the bloody circle.” you tell Mina.

“Aye Aye!” Mina says as she begins to help you out.

It takes about a good ten minutes to set up. You double check and make sure everything is perfect inside of the circle. All the lines are straight, all the candles are lit, and a small bit of incense you often keep around to help you place smelling nice.

You take a step back, holding your hands over the circle while taking a deep breath. “Well... Here goes nothing...” you say as you begin to chant the ritual. “Lord of Dis... Hear my request and and let it be fulfilled...”

Your concentration remains razor sharp as you continue the ritual. The entire length of the spell is rather long, and you need to make sure that you don’t forget it and pray you remember it correctly. Nothing much seems to happen during the entire ritual for the most part, so you chant the final words of the spell, “Now come forth and grant me an audience, Demon Queen Oksana!”
>>
>>22179866

[2/2]

Once those last words are uttered, you can see a large chuck of aether being forcibly and suddenly ripped out of you, the entire room seems to be cast almost immediately into a pitch black darkness so thick that now even you can see, but the elaborate spell circle of chalk on the blood shines a brillant blood red colour. Seemingly a vortex opens up in the middle of your room. A figure made of pure darkness and with deep red eyes slowly begins to rise up from the center of the absorbing vortex, extending it’s wings in majestic glory in front of you and Mina.

Then just as suddenly as it began, it ended. The room returns to it’s normal lighting and in the center of the still glowing spell circle, Demon Queen Oksana can be seen in full view.

“...Wait a minute... How is your entire body here in front of me?” you ask Oksana, as you expected somewhat of a smokey image to appear, but rather it appears to be Oksana as if she were standing in front of you.

Oksana walks over to your fireplace and reaches out your shelf, but rather than placing her hand on it, her hand just goes through it. “Layman’s version, astral projection of sorts.”

“...I think I wet myself...” Mina says still stunned by Oksana’s dramatic entrance.

"Mina you may want to go...ahem... freshen up real quick. Queen Oksana, would you know a ritual I can use to locate my dead body?"
>>

>“...I think I wet myself...”
We aren't thinking the same thing are we?
Ask Oksana about ritual that can locate our dead body.
>>

"Hey Oksana. I have a few questions about ritual magic. First I'd like one for finding things with a sympathetic connection, I'm trying to find my body as it being in someone's hands could present a threat to me. Also I would like to learn some rituals that don't require Aether for the coven I'm making to get favors, secrets, and so on from noble ladies."

"well, that was... different. regardless, i have asked your audience to ask of thee if thou could impart upon us the necessary learning to preform a scrying ritual, as the information about what my old body could be used for is... disconcerting to say the least, and i wish to tie up this loose end before the pride demon knight arrives here. As from what my sources tell me, the lord of this settlement, Langly, has requested the aide of the knight due to a belief that his court has been infiltrated. i am unaware of what kind of infiltration he suspects, be it is myself, some other, or maybe even the Lamian who is somewhere in this settlement."

You and Oksana just look at Mina for a few seconds. “You... may want to go freshen up a bit...”

“W-will do...” Mina says walking over to the bathroom.

“...I thought Succubi didn’t have to use the bathroom like mortals...” you tell Oksana.

“We don’t. But still, sudden shocked can... Well...” Oksana gestures to the bathroom that Mina ran into, before walking around the spell circle to get a look at your room. “...Nice and cozy place you got here.”

“Keeps me safe from the cold and let’s me keep all my stuff, so I’ll live.” you casually reply. “Anyways, Queen Oksana, I summoned you forth here today to ask you for another favor. As you know my original body has been stolen, and Brodin the Reaper here claims it could be used as a sympathetic connection against me. I’d like to know if there is a ritual I could use to track it.”

“Man this body thing confuses the hell out of me... I mean... Yea I’m a Demon Queen and I know my magical lore yea, but I have to say you’re the very first case to give me something that could stump me like this.” Oksana admits.

“...I don’t know whenever I should feel honored or terrified by what you just said.” You reply.

“Both, but needless to say it’s giving Miyu a nice thought exercise on what it means. Anywho, a ritual like that would be useful, and luckily for you I have just the thing.” Oksana says.

“And what does it require?” you ask.

“Mainly a cats cradle, intact spider web, or long string randomly interwoven between two objects. The ritual will allow you to ask the Loom of Fate directly, which knows virtually everything in the present and past. The ritual itself is fairly easy to cast, but...” Oksana trails off.

“...But?” you ask.

“Hold on, it’s been a while since I’ve used this spell. ...Ah! The ritual itself is fairly easy to learn, but like chess it’s hard to master. Each time the ritual is cast, you can ask fate a certain number of questions related to the past or future and it will reply. Note that fate is very sparse with it’s answers however. They’re almost right, but they’ll be need to phrased very carefully. For example, if you used the ritual to ask, ‘who murdered my cousin?’ when your cousin was assaulted by a group then a good samaritan accidently killed him while trying to help him, the ritual will peg him as a killer. Secondly, you can only ask it a limited number of questions per ritual. How many depends on how much aether you pour into the ritual and how well you cast the spell. Lastly, you can only cast the spell a limited number of times. Even as a Demon Queen, I can only cast it about ten times in a month before it just doesn’t work for me anymore. To my knowledge there is absolutely no way to extend this limit other than expanding your aether reserves and climbing in power. This ritual is rather finicky, but I think I explained the jist of it. Is there anything else you wish to know about it before I teach it?” Oksana asks.

(I will ask about sample rituals to show the girls off, so worry not)
>>
>>22180353
"Is there no ritual to simply follow the link between body and soul? A scrying spell or such? No offense, but this one seems rather... unreliable... for someone inexperienced. Like me."
>>
>>22180353
while the ritual seems like a very useful thing to learn.
It is overcomplicated for what we need to just find out where our body is and who has it.

This is basically "ask a teacher for a scrying spell to find your car keys"="get a ritual that allows you to talk to the fate, with complicated rules you have to memorize"
....
right
>>
>>22180353

"ahh, this ritual seems to be a dangerous double edged sword, as while knowledge is power, a little knowledge is a dangerous thing. i will do my utmost to use it responsibly"
>>
“Seems a bit advanced for someone like me... Is there anything for my skill level?” you ask.

“Well... There is another one... I can teach you the invisible thread of Fate. It lets you name a person, place, object, or thing and then see an ethereal thread the only you and people with supernatural vision can see. But I’m worried with this method is that it suffers the same issue with the fate ritual I mentioned last. If you tell it you track ‘your body’, then thread may just loop back to you. Your case is quite complicated, so I’m unsure that if this ritual would work with 100% certainty.” Oksana explains.

“How sure are you that it’d work?” you ask.

Oksana takes a few seconds to think. “...Mmmaaayyybe 70% on the generous side. I apologize, but we’ve never had a case where someone would steal someone else’s old body of all things.”
>>
>>22180560
Then which would she recommend for this situation?
>>
>>22180560

"could i not just name 'Brooklyn Browning's Mortal Body' or is the thread of fate only capable of dealing with simple instructions?"
>>
>>22180560
"I suppose this is an odd case. Would searching for the human body of the scholar from Fort Hope named Brooklyn Brown be likely to get the thread to go to the right place?

And while I may not use it for this the ritual for questioning the Loom of Fate seems extremely potent."
>>
>>22180639
>>22180647
Why not simply refer to "my" or "the caster of the ritual" rather than Brooklyn Brown, which might still possibly go wrong?
>>
[1/2]

“Couldn’t I just ask it to find Brooklyn Browning’s mortal body?” you ask.

“That won’t. Brooklyn Browning at the moment is a demon. ‘Brooklyn Browning’s previous body from when he was a mortal’ is more specific. Think of both spells like a computer of sorts. You need to very exact with your questions or else you get nothing. Good news is if you get nothing, then the spell won’t fire off and you won’t lose any aether or any questions.” Oksana replies.

“...While I may not have a use for it, the ritual for questioning the loom of fate does seem to be very potent indeed...” you say thinking of the implications.

“It is extremely. It is tricky to think of the questions, but the information is amazing. ...I think I could rephrase it. The questions you ask the question ritual have to be short answer or yes/no type questions. Extremely complex, intentionally obscured, or ‘fateful’ questions may cost multiple questions, fateful being something I don’t even understand. The information is always honest and truthful, but may be cryptic or difficult to understand. The thread spell works like a compass. It points you in the right direction, but only in a straight line and it doesn’t tell one how far it is.” Oksana explains.

[2/2]

“So useful in combination by the sounds of it.” you reply.

“Oh incredibly. Question to determine general area, thread to pinpoint. I’d teach you the scrying spell, but your body is probably in a box so the only thing you’d see while visually scrying is probably your body in a box and nothing else.” Oksana replies.

“Which one do you suggest I use?” you ask.

“It’s like a coin flip either. I’d probably suggest the questioning one. It will tell you where it is. If it doesn’t and you know you cast it right... then you’ve got a very big problem in your hands as someone has cast a ward around your body.” Oksana replies.

“Can only high level rituals do that?” you ask.

“Pfft, no. Mortals can with the proper ritual. Just that it shows that someone *really* went the extra mile to cover their tracks. If that’s true, then that concerns me.” Oksana replies.
>>
>>22180844
Could we learn to cast the ritual now, then? Could she guide us through it? After all, this might be a very urgent concern. Or it could be nothing at all. We'd like to find out which as soon as possible.
>>
>>22180844
"It's pretty concerning even without that. Seriously, they went really out of their way for this. If they wanted me dead I'd be dead before I found you, they seem to want me alive and might have my body as some sort of insurance. They might even know about you and the other Queens which worries me to no end.

Well, the more time we spend discussing how weird my life is and how potentially screwed I am the less time we have for you to teach me rituals."
>>
>>22180881

The thread ritual or the question ritual?
>>
>>22180912
Not him, but I would put the question ritual as a higher priority than the thread ritual.
>>
>>22180928

TBH I inferred that as well, so I think I'll be going with that.
>>
New thread.
