Last time on Goa'uld Quest, Leviathan, most illustrious godling of high divine pedigree has had much entertainment running around playing heretical criminal, and exacting the first toll on the lessers*. Leviathan moved with intent and purpose on the streets and alleys of Tir Na Nog seeking to divine everything that is relevant to the arrival of Lord Clegoragh, bane of Wadjet, star lord of Ernutet, and more importantly his three Ha'tak class Star crafts scheduled to land on the three newly erect pyramid platforms overseeing the city of Berswith where his host has gotten progressively more inebriated to blend in the unwashed masses. The lordling has then further delved into seeking truths about the world at large, and gaining insight into the ways and paths of the shadow sects who usually pull and prod the unwitting into their schemes.

* It was of course by proxy but that it still counts.

Let's try to get all the angles covered here. As a separate issue, I also want to vote for trying to recruit Sonia and possibly some of the other mercenaries as permanent military advisors, but let's take this one step at a time.

Recruiting the Tau'ri is a nice idea, however we would need to have personal power commiserate with their worth in order to convince them into an alliance. And they will never be loyal to us; we would need to be wary of betrayal from them.

However, I agree that their tactics and military theory is exactly what we are looking for in our new dominion, once we wrest power away from Wadjet.

Regarding host bodies, I think a humanoid or dalek chassis might run into problems when we try to take it into buildings. If we go with something akin to a snake or oarfish we can make it large enough to fit a powerplant, weapons, shields and a reactionless drive while still keeping a small enough frontal area to fit through doorways and corridors. We might still have trouble with transporters, but death gliders can hit mach 10 so getting around shouldn't be a problem.
>>
>>22230530
We could install a small anti-grav module into the Dalek chassis.
That should negate most terrain difficulties.

I do like the idea of a large war-mech designed to be our LEVIATHAN body, with a cockpit that our Dalek chassis fits into.
But that's a plan for a later time.

First, we've got to steal this mothership and get ourselves a real host.

Honesty may be the best policy here: by any reasonable standard Sonia is a psychotic, broken shell of a human being; without us, her options are to keep running errands for the system lords until a Jaffa gets lucky and kills her, or return to Earth and try to reintegrate into society before being locked away in a mental hospital or put down like a diseased animal.

>>22230522
Let's try again then.
>>
>>22230585
The issue I was considering is the internal volume of the body, but you're right that not every situation needs us to take the form of a giant robot. Having a smaller body that forms part of the head seems like a good idea.

Right now our best option looks to be rebuilding a death glider into a host body, since it's already built around a neural interface and life-support system.
>>
>>22230643
Oh man. I just realized that if we go that route, with our penchant for using machine bodies when the fancy takes us, that the Jaffa are going to call us the Machine God.

Hmm...we're locked it seems on 1 vote for retreating to OPHQ to prepare for the scouting mission, and 1 vote for keeping on the revolt and rebellion angle.

We need this rebellion to work if we're going to steal that Ha'tak and take pressure off of Wadjet's forces.

Walking in town it seems that tension is rising with the influx of foreign jaffa, and one can notice that people seem to be huddling along their day in small homogeneous groups. Garrison Jaffa don't mix with the latest arrivals, the priests seem less than joyful of their increased duties , the humans fear the change in management to be a turn for the worst both youths and elders.

The only who seem to be content or at least supportive of the new developments are the merchants who always welcome larger markets and the immigrating jaffa warriors in search of glory and plunder under a new lord's banner.
Pick three.
[] Elders (Previous contact, successful)
[] Youths (Previous contact)
[] Garrison Jaffa (corruption lead)
[] Merchants (Previous contact Succesful)
[] Crusading Jaffas
[] Underworld (corruption lead)

Sonia while entering a local and scoping it out for exits, cover and persons of interest goes into a bit of a daydream about prepositioning cannon tubes on Clegoraghs mansion to poison his guards inside and offhandedly notes that a rebellion beyond motive, manpower and morale needs weapons, and in your expansive knowledge of goa'uld society how could that be arranged or should she take the lead on that?
>>
>>22230815
[x] Elders (Previous contact, successful)
[x] Garrison Jaffa (corruption lead)
[x] Underworld (corruption lead)

>Sonia's question
Weapons could potentially be acquired from the garrison.
Can we look through our knowledge of Goa'uld society and find their industrial production centers? Such as liquid naquadah refinement, staff weapon construction and maintenance, and how weapons could be sneaked out, stolen, or constructed from innocuous industrial parts?
>>
Rolled 7

>>22230866
>industrial production centers
The assembly of technological artefacts would be controlled usually by a goa'uld underling in a large automated facility, something like the landing pyramids would be able to house such units or pyramid fortresses.

They only need the right materials to process them. A lot however can be outsourced in essence, by having blacksmiths or master craftsmen build cases and other low tech furnishing, with priests assembling them into finished product, if your memory is intact.
>>
>>22230950
>A lot however can be outsourced in essence
Such outsourcing involves the necessary components being transported to temples for final assembly.
Those temples may have lesser security than the garrison itself.
>>
>>22230968
That could be better anyway, since the assembled weapon isn't much use to us anyway. We want the thing that shoots and the thing that powers the thing that shoots; once we have that we can just strap it to a rifle-shaped piece of wood.

>>22230866
Looks good to me
>>
>>22231063
So Sonia will be staying put for a few weeks being the only one who assembles weapons for the entire rebellion like some troll in a cave?

You don't have the time for it nor the will to do it.

Staffs and zats are perfectly good. They kill people and the users will have little inking beyond point and shoot anyhow regardless of their shape.

Then there are the obvious cultural issues the staff has a prominent role in like status and civil order.
>>
>>22231095
>So Sonia will be staying put for a few weeks
Of course not.
But what we do want is to find out which temples are being used as assembly workshops for zats and staff weapons, and stealing from them and covering up our trail, either by have priests or elders sympathetic to the rebellion help us alter the accounting. Perhaps by writing down stolen weapons as "defective, disposed".

More emphasis on the zats since they're easier to use than a staff weapon, but staffs will be important as symbols, so we can't ignore acquiring them.

The Jaffa stun grenades (I can't remember the name of them now) will also be very useful if we can acquire some.
>>
>>22231095
If we can get people willing to die for a rebellion, I'm guessing we can get people willing to cut wood for it. Not everyone is going to be a military-age male here.

But really, that'll have to wait. First, we must acquire a power base and a host that won't kill us at the first opportunity wherein we're no longer of use to them.
>>
>>22231178
I don't know where you got the idea of military aged males
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-a5qfcpaioA

There is also the fact that a low powered naquadah powersource generating electro lasers or plasma bolts wont do to well in a wooden chassis. The whole heat issue... you know.

>>22231170
That sounds more amenable.
Staffs are actually easier to use than zats. Zats however are easier to conceal.

The grenades however is not something you want in the hands of a hastily assembled rebel force, especially if you have no place of training it withoutshowing your hand .
>>
>>22231255
>Staffs are actually easier to use than zats.
Oh, really? I thought that the opposite was true.
Well then, we still want as many as we can get safely without arousing suspicion.

>grenades
Alright. Though if we can get a few for the human mercenaries, they can likely use them to best effect.
>>
>>22231255
>I don't know where you got the idea of military aged males
There are a lot of reasons why someone might not be much good in a fight, especially once people start getting shot. Might as well get some use out of them.
>There is also the fact that a low powered naquadah powersource generating electro lasers or plasma bolts wont do to well in a wooden chassis. The whole heat issue... you know.
It it's bolted to the top of the frame it'll still get enough airflow to keep it cool. If it's still a problem we can just cast frames out of scrap metal.
>>
>>22231380
But all of that requires time and resources, neither of which we have enough of.
>>
>>22231422
We're not going to have much claim to being a god if we can't even get our hands on a plank of wood, a saw and a homeless guy.
>>
>>22231255
Oh, do the Jaffa do their own maintenance of staff weapons? Or if there is a problem, do they simply send them to be a temple to be 'blessed', and the temple handles maintenance, repair, and if repair is impossible, disposal?
That might be another way to get more weapons; have the corrupt garrison send weapons to a temple for repair, and the temples write them off as unrepairable, while rebel forces sneak them out.
>>

By the way, we're not trying to build our power base out of this rebellion, are we? It seems seriously risky to hope that people who just got out from under one goa'uld are going to accept another one trying to swoop in and take control.
>>
>>22233651
Oh no. This is merely to acquire a Ha'tak for ourselves, and weaken Wadjet's rivals, in order for Wadjet to survive a little longer.
We can more easily hide if the Goa'uld we hide beneath is senile and easily distracted.
>>
>>22233702
I think the safest approach is try and to intimidate the jaffa on board the ha'taks into following us, then take them back to Wadjet and form them into a sort of paramilitary group. If we're successful in doing that we can work on building civil institutions to support our military until we can function independantly of him. This way we can have a core of followers who are conditioned to see us as a leader even if they don't see us as a god, and our civil instutions will have the clear goal of supporting the military and by extension us.

Incidentally that's another reason why I think the giant robot body is a good idea. It lets us lead operations personally without too much risk, and I think the jaffa will be inspired by the image of us flying overhead while disintegrating hordes of enemies.
>>
>>22234276
Keep in mind though that such a large vehicle becomes vulnerable to anti-ship targeting systems.
One of the weaknesses of Goa'uld weapon systems is their poor targeting systems (relatively speaking). We're going to be scavenging much of our technology, not inventing out of whole cloth.
>>
>>22235744
A death glider has about 4 tons of cargo capacity, so adding a hundred or so staff emitters shouldn't compromise performance too much.

I figure we should probably take all the death gliders we can get and give the Mad Max treatment: cut the wings down so they'll fit through the stargate, put in seats for two more gunners, jam on as many staff weapons as we can fit and maybe shield generators if we can get them. We leave the ha'taks at home and head through the stargate like we're the SAS in north Africa. With coordination and a bit of luck we should be able to go through, burn down everything on the other side and get out before they can bring the big guns into play.
>>
>>22236178
Apophis did create such a vehicle in the main SG-1 timeline. But the amount of piloting skill required and the extreme instability of the craft made the project a failure.

We could build a Goa'uld version of a Puddlejumper, but without Ancient technology and flight control systems, we won't be able to fly through a Stargate; just push it through then activate it on the other side.
>>
>>22236268
We could put wheels on the bottom and drive it through the stargate.
>>
>>22236366
So perhaps a version of the Death Glider that can fold its wings in enough to allow it to be pushed through a Stargate in its entirety?

That may be doable, but it would require a lot modifications and work.
Is the concept of light armored fighting vehicles that can fit through a gate too radical for Leviathan to conceive of it without more data mining in te heads of the mercenaries?
Imagine shielded light tanks and APC's with staff cannon turrets roaring out of an open gate into an unsuspecting Jaffa formation.

You soon find yourself facing the elders and more prominent personages of the community, conversing the idea of change and how best to deal with it. While they don't seem to keen on facing Clegoraghs forces they might be inclined to do so, if later retribution would be waylaid somehow, either through gaining another lord through conquest, or if somehow the two warring gods were to find peace between themselves.

Still, they seem to be not very inclined to fight most likely due to the lack of having anything to fight with. The Three Ha'taks will also be something of a major intimidating factor that will severely lower their will to fight should there be instigations to it.

Sonia is certain that she could spin a few facts to make this sound more approachable for the elders, with some creative engineering of facts, but it would be wiser to return to them with said answers, to provide the illusion of council, and to announce and converse with the others of going with her ideas, like Wadjet taking over with mighty warriors, Petrifying or Smashing Clegoraghs Ships, and perhaps the ascension of a new true god.
>>
Following on the weapons trade you shadow the smugglers as they were leaving the town and with a pair of tubes and lenses broadened focused the field of view to note the Address they are using, and to note that one has stayed behind and has hidden something under a rock nearby the dial device, at this hour Sonia cannot approach it without being seen by the smuggler that stayed so she makes a note of all these new situation in order to approach them later.

Finally, You manage to find the two jaffa who have so conveniently lost nearly three dozen zat'nik'tels, and can see that they are quite friendly with a jaffa unit. You could even call them the most prominent leads on that.

> I left for RL reunions and again will leave you with this for the night.

Not so much 'push' as 'activate the main engine on the ground and hope the suspension can take it'. I'd be lying if I said I expect no fatalities in testing.
>>
>>22236648
Will you return tomorrow?

Also, I keep forgetting that the Goa'uld basically went from the Bronze Age straight to plasma rifles and hyperspace-capable starships without the Ages in between, resulting in them not even knowing what binoculars are.

So, smugglers we'll deal with at night.
The Elders, we'll lie to, and maybe point out how they could procure weapons from their temples and stockpile them.

The corrupt Jaffa I'm not sure what to do with. How are the local Jaffa taking this influx of immigrants who worship a different god?
>>
I was just thinking; could we take over one of Clegoragh's Jaffa, drug them so that we have full control, and then somehow instigate a fight between the immigrant and local Jaffa?

We also need a plan for getting coffee while in a robot body. I think we can absorb chemicals through skin contact, so we might be able to make a pot of coffee, climb out of the robot and swim in the coffee, but we'll have to be careful not to make it too hot if we do that.

Assuming we are successful, can we keep defeated goa'uld in an aquarium or will they just end up eating each other if we do that?
>>
>>22236721
Wouldn't it be better to have an IFV go through first to secure the other side of the gate before sending a Death Glider through?

>>22244251

>>
>>22244296
>Why would you create something that does not fly?
Curse the Goa'uld teching up by scavenging Ancient technology and not by their own efforts, leading to an inability to conceive of basic military doctrines understood by lesser advanced races!

We should really data-mine Sonia's memories of war and military technologies when she next goes to sleep.
>>
>>22245097
Or they could just not make vehicles that are helpless against orbital bombardment.
>>
>>22245419
We can turn the Death Glider into a Land-Aerospace Machine, and have it transform from a hovertank form for passing through stargates into a fighter form once it's on the other side.
>>
>>22246895
that sounds needlessly complicated. Just make an IFV. or maybe a hover tank of some sort. That would be fun.
>>
>>22246939
The hovertank could be an upgunned scout drone, large enough to mount a staff cannon and shield generators.

But it's true that we have to consider orbital bombardment as a problem, and being able to take out enemy assets in orbit would be a consideration.
>>
You know, we saw Tau'ri mortar teams in action.
Maybe we can begin thinking of ways to launch Jaffa stun grenades in a similar fashion.
>>
>>22247029
We can mount bigger guns on a planet than our enemies can mount on a ship, the only issue is fitting it through the stargate. I'm thinking something like a big truck, maybe 4.5x4.5x200 meters. Once we clear out the ground defenses, we can drive it through, erect the main gun and start shooting at anything that shows up in orbit.

I'm not suggesting we start building Mavors, but it would a good starting point if we want to build them later.
>>
>>22245097
It's a valid question when you can mount repulsors on practically everything. We need to move along the ground to get through the stargate, but once we're through we have more mobility and better lines of sight in the air.
>>
Sonia decides to watch the jaffa compound a little more and finds out the names of the two head actors that were at the gun drop, Risan and Tevnok, and their two best friends Shandor and Breiuc, who Sonia insists on calling them between the two of you Stan and Bran for some obscure reason.

After ensuring they wont go anywhere soon from the training grounds, Sonia reports back in to one of the contacts and relays the new smuggler information as well as the needs of the Elders, and the cards needed to be played.

A response will be coming in the morrow, for now you return back to watching the Jaffa and planning on visiting the smuggler drop off point.
> Any mind games or conversation willing to engage with Sonia?
>>
>>22250297
...Is that you OP?
>>
>>22249970
That is possible however it will not be mobile, but deployable. Think of a landing pyramid crossed with a pyramid base but instead of shielding it would be a gun.

Of course being in orbit would be better, because you will loose some firepower due to having to shoot against gravity and through the atmosphere, and then there is also the fact that a enemy can always stay in cover of said gun with a ship by using the planetary body as a shield.

>>22250248

>You dont see any reason to have any kind of vehicle that does not fly. Any army is either a foot slogging stargate assault force or completely space mobile. There is no need for such a thing and alien to your technological paradigm.

We don't have transport ships, so anything we want to move has to move through a stargate. Stargates are on the ground, so anything we want to move through a stargate has to move very close to the ground. That means either a computer or a mechanical system to precisely regulate a vehicle's distance from the ground at very low speeds and altitudes.

>Perhaps jaffa not, because they would require a lot of training and teaching into things you really do not want to start. But you could automate the process, and have them use target painters modified for combat situation similar to those seen in the Triad episode.

We can get a similar effect in the short term by training them to use slings. Assuming we understand how levers work, anyway

Indeed. You dont get the same range. But that would be like some of your jaffa using Crossbows. Its the kind of message you are sending both to jaffa and other goa'ulds.

You could however have multiple drone assistance units, similar to that scout drone but intended to be used with troops by elites or primes, be they mobile area shielding variants, flying spotters or ballistic fire support units. all easy to control via wrist crystal or pearl, target painters and helmet displays.

Best case, we come out of this with three Ha'taks. We can't risk losing them until we secure a shipyard.

Say a company or a battalion of airborne or marine infantry to act as a body guard until when you go on your empire building binge.

On the road there she falsely apologizes for bringing you offence, for you are truly lording over a mighty host, and are conducting war on a hated enemy, and totally not aiming to steal everything not bolted down - and that one only because you dont have blot cutters.

The mind however is filled with how staffs would go against her 'tanks'. The answer is quite underwhelming. Staff cannons would be the minimum consideration to the moving houses of metals armed with multiple tube weapons that have a nasty habit of either destroying walls or simply going through them. Weapons that these humans seem to be able to replicate in effect on the said behemoths. It seems to your judgement its not a issue of not having the weapons to destroy the enemy but not having the soldiers to do so.

Sonia takes the ball communicator and reassembles the hideout, while admonishing you for taking the creative ways of killing you personally. Your simple existence is a constant security risk to any non goa'uld policy until proven otherwise beyond a shadow of a doubt.

She also has a good laugh at your idea of a mechanical body, and quickly dismisses it as something ludicrous that someone with too much time on his mind has gotten to.

Back in the village Sonia manages to reach out to another mercenary, George, who seems to be a supply manager of sorts and after some talks in getting a 'magic crystal ball' receives a communicator sphere replica of similar shape, colour, weight and consistency, but without any other function, and you are back on the road to replace the missing piece.

Here's a thought: rather than using a sarcophagus to return a human's anatomy to it's 'correct' state, why not reshape it into a new form? In the crudest sense, we should be able to cut someone open, insert a mechanical scaffolding and then use the sarcorphagus to force the flesh to heal around it. If we did this enough times we might be able to form them into whatever suits us.
Strictly speaking, I think resources are the only thing stopping us from making a building-sized sarcophagus and then filling it with Ha'tak parts.

As it darkens outside, you prompt Sonia to get to the jaffa, and scoping them out she follows one out of the barracks and into the house of a more prominent personage in the permanent jaffa quarters.
Before you can suggest anything Sonia is already on the move, moving unobtrusively through the shades and lamp lightning, and simply disappears of the walking path in a shadowed place, only to begin scaling a house in seconds and going over it, to land on the House the jaffa, Shandor entered. This puts your host in the position to surreptitiously enter the house with some blade work on the windows.
Sneaking through the house, she sees Shandor talking to another Jaffa, this one with a silver forehead tattoo. Somehow your information of higher status was not needed, and you translate the inflections well enough for her to understand the conversation is more of a report on her escapade during the night. It seems the Jaffa were crusading cats paws of this officer, who is entrusted with supplying the barracks garrisons and disposing faulty equipment, while requisitioning new one. In the conversation you get the name to be Lat’yac.

He is mildly displeased of the deal not netting him both the weapons and the payment, as well as the good graces of the crusading jaffa who he is certain are here to stay. It seems to be a major setback to him as he got the men of a rather influential crusader killed on the tip, but it seems he will be still in contact with the weapons smugglers, however little use that connection would be at this moment.

With practised eased Sonia screws in a thick tube over her somewhat larger hand weapon. The one with six shots still tucked in the contraption bound to her inner right forearm, Zat’nik’tel in her back belt, and two deployable blades, one in her left inner forearm, another at her left inner thigh, and a simple blade in her left boot.

Considering the time frame involved in the mission she goes against her training to report back, mostly because it seems there is no one in particular to report back to that would be of consequences leading to reprimand .

As the conversation dies down from the more poignant issues and goes into personal curiosities about how ones son is doing and if what medicine is working Sonia decides to do a slow sweep of the house, one child, male early teens, and one female, nearing thirty, in her estimation. Shandor has not left, but it seems while away the two have gotten into a agreement. From what you can deduce, both their children, not yet blessed with a symbiont, have been afflicted by a disease and have purchased it from the renegade humans at considerable costs. It is stored here in house, as Lat’yac seems to have handed Shandor a vial of it.

Sonia starts to take aim.

Shandor is still in his armour and has a Zat’nik’tel at his wrist, while Lat’yac is in a tan tunic with a leather belt and dark leggings. With precise aim and a muffled ‘Crack’ the Zat’nik’tel springs from is bound place on Shandor’s wrist, and down on the floor, inoperable. While the jaffa still have their attention on the jumping Zat’nik’tel, another muffled crack coupled with the now familiar counterforce in the host arm destroys the lamp illuminating the Room, leaving only moon and starlight shine throughout the place.
“Stop moving boys, or you are next.” – the conversation while grammatically correct in Goa’uld makes little sense as anything but a insult to jaffa warriors said by a unknown, and a woman at that. Going back to the modified death glider, I think something like this should cover the vast majority of our needs when it comes to ground combat. Basically we have 8 staff weapons in a ball turret on the nose controlled by the pilot, then 9 in retractable pylons on each side so it can fit through a stargate. On the back we put the 2 staff cannons that are normally fitted to a death glider, plus 4 staff weapons for extra anti-infantry, controlled by a third gunner. The back assembly would be mounted on a sort of backhoe-style arm so it could cover the either the top or the bottom of the vehicle, depending on whether we need to defend against flyers. A cut-down staff weapon shouldn't weigh more than 3 kilos, so 30 wouldn't put much of a dent in a death glider's carrying capacity. If we assume the pylons bring it up to a ton and the extra two seats add another ton, that still leaves us with two tons for shields and power generation. We'd probably lose some performance but a ground-attack aircraft doesn't really need to go at mach 10 anyway.

Actually getting it through the stargate might be a problem but I think we can get around that by setting up a launch catapult at our end, which should let us align them consistently and then send them through the gate at high speed.
>>
>>22317633
you could loose a few staff weapon grade guns. in a trinary setup for every assembly would be enough for mass anti infantry job, and it would be better to use the juice to power more staff cannons, even a extra one or two, preferably in turret configuration.

Staff weapons are not the major killer, but staff cannons, and energy charges.

Update will arrive in four or so hours after i get home, if thread is still up.

Happy New Year /tg/ denizens.
>>
>>22317633
If we already have the ball turret and we make the turrets on the pylons able to depress down, couldn't we put the staff cannons on top in a quad configuration in a turret capable of engaging both ground and air targets?
>>
>>22319422
If it's on the top it would have trouble engaging ground targets, but a rear mount might be able to engage both if it's far enough out from the main hull. It might be worth dropping the ball turret and giving the pilot fixed staff cannons so we don't have to spend too much time retraining them, as well as giving it a bit more punch against hard targets.

Also the sketch doesn't really make it clear but the intention is for the pylons to mount turrets able to cover a full hemisphere underneath the ship, each controlled by a dedicated gunner. I don't think it would be overkill to mount that many staff weapons because accuracy will suffer quite badly on high-speed attack runs.
>>
>>22319560
The turret on top will still be able to engage ground targets like a regular tank, though it would have a minimum range just like a regular tank; that's what the side and chin turrets are for.

Though how high off the ground were you expecting this vehicle to be? I was expecting a hovertank, floating 3 to 4 feet off the ground.

I don't get why everyone talks about cutting the wings down on a deathglider in the show Teal'c flies a normal one through the gate though based on his and Bra'tac's conversation it is not an easy feat but its not totally unusual ether.
>>
>>22321224
The extra turrets at a good idea in my opinion possibly set to the low power many shot mode Bra'tac showed of with in that one episode as the goal of the normal staffs on it would be fire saturation and the canons oomph
>>
>>22321121
Honestly I don't think she's a good candidate. She's a good killer, but she lacks both the imagination and the ambition to be anything more than that.
>>
>>22321224
>normal deathglider through a Stargate
Which episode was that?
The normal Death Glider has a wingspan of 45.9 meters, while the Needle Threader has a wingspan of 6.5 meters and just barely clears the gate.

Also I forgot to mention that timesharing with one of our generals means that neither of us will be doing our job at full effectiveness.

>yes.

"I am listening" said Lat'yac " Speak your price."

"Well, someone really dislikes the position these new jaffa arrivals. So you will inconvenience them in a lot of ways." starts Sonia in a pensive voice. But then in a decided tone she continues "Do not trouble yourself much. Nothing to direct. And your plotting campaign must abruptly end in two tendays. You will be informed as to how and when to act. As for the second exchange, you shall help procure items difficult to obtain for a interested part. A different one to which you have been dealing with, short term for now, but looking to solidify such occurrences in a enduring relationship - I am certain they will compensate you for your efforts."

Silence fills the room. Lat'yac starts with a monotone businesses voice "I notice that -

"And don't refer to my favours as something to be bought." cuts his sentence short. "Its such a vulgar and inaccurate description. A price is usually fixed for all possible parties. I facilitate exchange, and mutual cooperation between various parts that have expressed said need." Ends Sonia with a smile. "Now, what have you noticed?"

Lat'yac lowers his eyelids. "That I will have to deal with the Crusaders."

You make a good point but she wold make a good consultant given that we might convince her to join us with some difficulty but not her crew bar some miracle we can yet to see or concoct. Also she would make an amazing body guard.
>>
>>22321393
Things appear to be proceeding according to plan.

>>22321473
A consultant, maybe, but not a bodyguard. Her loyalty is to her King and to herself. Admirable, in a way, but unsuited for use by us.
>>
>>22321515
well when i meant body guard i was thinking while we timeshare so relay she is guarding our body while guarding her body.
I agree about her loyalty to bad relay i am fond of her she is much more interesting then her underling we rode in for a while. I mean she is holding us hostage while we hold her hostage that takes guts.

I like her plan so far and want see were it goes also.
>>
>>22321473
Once we're in a more stable position and we're trading in something more than just promises, we should be able to hire mercenaries to train our forces anyway. As for bodyguards, I've alrady stated my preference for a cyberwared host; even if we decide not to go for a full bio-fortress we should be able to make our body tough enough to handle anything that gets past our troops.
>>
>>22321706
Is there even much Goa'uld cyberware? Their technology doesn't appear geared towards that.

I'd prefer to have our Battle Form (Dalek), multiple backup bodies (The Doctors), and heavily armored suit with a built in Hara'kesh, zat or staff wrist guns, and a shield generator (Darth Vader).

>>22323443
Strictly speaking most of it isn't cyberware, but a lot of it works on nerve impulses even if it's external. We could probably turn it into cyberware if we abuse a sarcophagus to jam it into our host, but obviously we'll need to lobotomize the poor bastard beforehand since the process would otherwise drive him quite mad.

Part of me also wants to see if we can make a small headcrab body in case we're in a hurry to leave a host, but mostly because I think it would be funny.
>>
>>22321393
"For a little while. They need to be properly stirred before they will get a severe case of consumption. After that it will seem that this world is not suited for troop massing." retorts Sonia.

"You have not named the third favour"

"You do not realize that you need it yet. However lets say that the two previous favours were granted by a certain magnanimous benefactor. What would you say to that?"

" I would say 'I am in your debt' to such a patron."

" And now you prove why you have the fancy tattoo over that pretty head of yours." In the dark she takes care them not to notice her left hand going from her front to her back, you however feel it. "But now it is night. Silver, Gold or Ink, every god fearing being sleeps, wouldn't you agree" and two white blue shimmers blink in the windows of the affluent Jaffa.

'Listen to that Levi? I bet i got you your potential first power base. I hope he is a pirate. Do jaffa get gold teeth? He would looke nice with a upper gold incisive, eye-patch and tricorn hat. A brown Star Pirate."

And with that Sonia returns to her Inn, and afterthought glasses of inebriating drinks she stumbles towards her bed.

See that's the clever part. First we make a giant Goa'uld to use as our host, then we make a giant host for the giant Goa'uld. All we need now is a giant sarcophagus and a whole lot of humans.

Incidentally the problem of us not being able to control a humanoid could be solved if we built a mechanical body.

Maybe we could fit it with a holographic projector?
>>
If we stuck with our current host for a bit longer after she gets back to Earth, we might be able to get our hands on a caucasian shepard. Their brains are already wired to follow commands so it shouldn't fight us the way a human would, and the Russians use them to hunt bears so it should make a good base for a combat morph. We wire it up with a staff turret on the back, zats on either side of the head, shield generators and a reinforced skeleton and it should be able to handle anything up to a kull warrior.
>>
>>22333780
But remember that it's a 50/50 shot to successfully take over a host, with failure resulting in our death.
Humans we have a 90% success rate because of Mother's influence and is growing up in a pouch.
>>
>>22334333
Well that would point back towards a mechanical body, at least until we're in a position to start looking at alternatives.
>>
>>22334503
We are wetware, and the show has the goa'uld's pegged quite uninterested and unsympathetic towards cyberisation, prosthetics and direct machine interface with themselves.
>>
>>22335536
Advantages
>won't fight us for control
>won't trigger host codependence issues
>won't threaten to kill us
>won't bleed to death when shot
Disadvantages

Of course, if we want to be a true weeabrit, our Darth Vader body will need to have its modifications hidden by an expensive tuxedo.

>>22336377
Healing is simply a matter of replacing broken components, and realistically anything able to disable an armoured machine would kill an organic host several times over. As for long-term medical issues, our alternative is a rapid descent into insanity from repeated exposure to Ancient healing devices.

The alcohol you isolated and absorbed has however affected you slightly too. You wont be able to properly function in a mental battle, even against a debilitated one. Not if you expect to get reliable results. Especially if you expect reliable results.

Sonia however gets to her room and after the usual set-up of the Tacluchnatagamuntoron's (Tac grenades. Heat seeking automated Zats) She proceeds to change in the night gown and exercise a nightly physical exercise, rhythmic in tempo, and afterwards calls you a bore, for not letting her enjoy the success, but does thank you for preventing the bad smell of puke.

As she slinks into her night covers, sleep hits her hard, and you are left sole conscientious inhabitant of the body.
As usual you are faced with a choice, but tonight you are somewhat less precise.

What will you explore, survey or take control of?

Tanks can't fit through a stargate or transportation rings, and since they can't fly we'd have trouble deploying them from orbit. Their usefulness to us is severely limited and at this point we're not expecting to fight anyone with them either.
>>
>>22338464
>tanks can't fit
That depends on the tank.
Also, we need to learn about it and how military doctrines surrounding it because the very concept is foreign to the Goa'uld, and if we want to get the concept of close air support for infantry and using vehicles as part of a combined arms doctrine, we need the memories of Earth.

>Physical and Processes

Your awareness exerts itself through nerve and gland. Muscles, ligaments and bones obey your will.

You can feel the breeze over your face, hear the low humming and pointed chirping of insects.

You also feel the Inebriation, the moving of fluids through the body and the moving of your head in some viscous guck-like substance. The experience seems to defy reality, and with amazement one must wonder how your host walked completely calm and without hindrance, practised rhythmic movements and armed and positioned weapons without any sign of disorientation.

Well, if she managed to do it you're kind, hailed as gods surely can manage to be just as graceful when drunk.

Do you dare get out of the stable bed and rise your head from the cool wooden edge?

Dice 2d200.
And suggest doing something. You now have a body all for yourself.
Of course you are now in that blissful period before throwing up and drawing the proverbial blank.

You proceed to assume the pose Sonia previously held.
Back arched, and head leaf slightly hanging over a shoulder. One hand high in the air as if grabbing someone, and the other extended with the elbow slightly bend, palm downwards as if held by something.

And then you begin to sing, in a rather booming voice. "Taram Tam Tam, Tarara Tararam Tam Tam"

Forward, forward, forward, feet together, flourish forward, forward. Direction changing spin, Electric lighting overhead, backwards, backwards, backwards, feet together, flourish, backwards backwards, and again spin. Lean on your back swinging from one side to another, hair almost touching the ground.

And then you fall. With a rather loud crack. You try to roll over and rise but you only get to be now face to the ground, and a stomach churning neck chocking feeling overcomes you, fluids and chunks of something coming out of the mouth.

You think about suppressing hosts this way, but it seems you are in that place where you wanted to prevent your host to arrive. There is one conclusion to this, however.

A Tok'ra and a Goa'uld walk into a bar...

Somehow you ended up laughing but you simply cant remember. The conclusion however, even if you cant remember the joke you just made up, is that if the tok'ra let the human be in charge, similarly to your now usually position, it should win the contest with the goa;uld. Provided the contest is drinking large amounts of alcohol, provided the tok'ra host is a analogue of your own- fat chance considering their choice pool- and of course provided the tok'ra lets the host lead. Hilarious! Again you laugh, but the smell of fermenting and rotten fruit overcomes your nostrils and again you must throw up and forget.

But I'd rather have a complete working computer that we can use to create that virus to upload into the Ha'taks that will switch command codes over to us.
