Yep, we´re back. Not expecting to run today, but at least letting people know today and tomorrow so we can restart on monday (unless for some miracle you guys do show up today)

Happy new year, btw
>>
Hello. Had fun over the holidays?
Glad to see this quest is up.
>>
>>22372268
hey man. It was okay. Been looking for a new job, and got a 4x game which sucked my life away for a few days. Think the others may happen to show up today?
>>
>>22372365
No idea. I have to leave pretty soon anyways though.
>>
>>22372365
What 4x game did you get?
>>
Hooray, more XWF!

I had a great Xmas/New Year, hope everyone else did the same.

But now, there's deals to be made, fights to be booked, plans to be hatched. Money never sleeps, and neither does Ned, very much, any more.
>>
>>22372509
True, he is a superior after all. In retrospect it might have been more fun to make him a Psiad though
>>
>>22372496
Endless Space. A friend got it for me for xmas. I´ve had lots of fun (after losing all the time for the first 2 days)

Also people in online games are fucking jerks. What do you mean you don´t want to trade? Really, I took a liking to it by its nice management and trading aspects, and people just wanna blow shit up
>>
>>22372525
Eh, Psiads are basically the aliens trying to get humans to evolve into users of sub-quantum, which they can control, instead of quantum, which fucks them up.

And really, so pissed about the community online in endless space.

"Hey man, you have lots of orichalcix, wanna trade me a unit for my titanium-70? I have what you need and viceversa"
"No, trade is hard"
"FFS just click "yes" when it asks you if you wanna trade"
"No, I need that"
"Sure, but you only need ONE and you have seven"
"I need that"
"... fine, then trade me orichalcix for orichalcix? that way we at least get the income bonus from trade"
"No"
>>
>>22372584
It's idiots like that that make me want to take a week off to relearn how to play X3: Reunion. (I spent all that time learning how to play it ahead of time, and my old computer couldn't even run it...)
>>
Well, we have three people, should we start with the thread proper? I thought I was just going to drop a notice today and tomorrow and actually restart on monday
>>
>>22372584
Actually, I was referring to the natural Psiad users mentioned in the Aberrant players guide (which has rules for them), who are apparently immune to taint. Not the artificially evolved alien puppets.
>>
>>22372619
Pisses me off. You get a bonus of money and science when you trade. The further away the goods come from, the better. So if we trade good A for the same motherfucking good A, neither of us would lose anything and we both would get free money and science. Yet people dont want to. I so wanted to play a merchant faction. I just don´t get it, why don´t they go play starcraft instead if they just wanna fight?

>>22372631
Like the pariah gene is thanks to the necrons (IIRC), the psiad gene is thanks to the aliens. There are no "natural" psiads.
>>
>>22372628

I say kick off. Ned needs to sort out the queue to fight Aura (and the FEELnet deal)
>>
>>22372652
Maybe they got the game for Christmas, and it's their first 4x game?

I know I had a bit of trouble adjusting from Civ II to Starcraft, granted I was like 12 at the time...
>>
>>22372652
Page 58 of the Aberrant Players Guide disagrees with you. Still you're the GM
>>
On one hand I kinda want to see an Aura vs Brass fight, just to show her that that kind of stuff doesn't always work, and watch the hilarity of her trying to seduce him, only to get suplexed. On the other hand, doing so will probably reveal to Bomber that he can resist mental influence and/or convince the audience that he's gay.
>>
>>22372716
Yeah, but I read the trinity books which are the future of the setting, and it turns out it was the aliens doing all along!
>>
>>22372772
I laughed.

Anyway, let´s see... we had Aura/Paladin and Khali/Okaba, right?

Now we sortie the people wanting to fight Aura, and promote the Brass v/s King Monitor fight in Japan. We are having Ami´s debut there as well?
>>
>>22372823

We promised everyone, including Ami, her debut on the first PPV possible. Don't forget heterogeneous chat show interview, and the hype after her Utopia match...
She's probably on the Upper Mid Card, with Brass/Santos main eventing.
>>
>>22372871

>her
>heterogeneous

Autocorrect, WTF are you doing?
>>
>>22372900
I was wondering about that.

Anyway, when are we getting her debut fight then? I thought it was as one of the opening fights in japan. Maybe not the first fight of the night, but before the main event
>>
>>22372921
I´d really like a general consensus on this, guys
>>
>>22372921

I really thought she was booked against Equitas for the first PPV of the "new season".

She can face off against Aura in Japan, for Fan Service Overload.
>>
>>22373052
Oh, right, thanks for reminding me.

That actually doesn´t sounds like a bad idea, but now that you remind me, I think we should go with Ami vs Equitas. Well, let´s do some details with arranging some fights for Aura after this, and getting her some advertising? shouldnt be hard
>>
>>22373052
Yeah, I kinda want to give the Ami and Aura match time to simmer, as we could have a good girl vs bad girl quasi-fued going on.

Instead of trying to play them as actually hating eachother, have them experience dislike at the other's methods.
>>
>>22373078

Equitas was always the plan, she agreed to put Ami over after Frank was unhelpful in booking.

A decent thing to do, and Ned has not forgotten this
>>
>>22373092
well, let´s go with what we were doing. Let´s see...

Right, the party with Mai is tonight, and the fighters have theirs tomorrow. Then a weekend and start of the next week. Ami debuts with Equitas, and finding Python a match.

So

>Organizing a fight for Python, Aura and Okaba
>Setting up our silver fighters
>Using our jobbers
>Starting the OPnet show
>Advertising deals
>>
>>22373092

Your idea is better. Ned could get that a main event slot, no worries.

That, and we can run the Ami/Paladin angle alongside, as Aura tolls them into getting together, on-screen and off
>>
So in order

Aritsu: "Sir, should I get a limousine to pick miss Morgan tonight?" -about the party
>>
>>22373196
"Why not? Having our clients arrive in style would make a good impression, no?"
>>
>>22373242
>>22373196

"It's either that, or a helicopter, and the latter seems a bit overblown for this"
>>
That night, Ned descends from the limo with Mai on his arm. They are both finely dressed, and the media eats them with a spoon, taking pictures and asking about any romantic links.

Of course someone confuses her with Ami at least once, but she doesn´t seems that interested in correcting their mistake.

****Inside*****

The reception and ball is a glamorous event, and a few of your colleagues move over to greet you.

Frank: "Hey Ned, th- thats not Ami, is she? you must be ...?"
>>
>>22373369
Mai introduces herself, and makes some light talk for a bit.

Frank: "So, you´ve done very good for you on your first year. I heard about your live program proyect. Do you have a full house yet?"
>>
>>22373380
"Well we're still trying to get our hands on John Stamos, but I think he might be too old for it."

God, whenever I try to RP Ned Salter, I always wind up as 'The guy who refrences things no one else ever gets.'
>>
>>22373466

Well, I never saw the show, but I got the gist of the reference from the context.

Differing cultural touchstones, I suppose. You say 'full house' to a Brit, they think of something bingo-related, probably the game show "Bob's Full House'
>>
>>22373466
heh

Frank: "I don´t think I can help you there. I was thinking if you could use Kodiak or maybe Wavelenght in your show, You always need a jock and an annoying bitch in those things to create conflct and spice things up, right?"
>>
>>22373511
Trust me, you don't want to watch the show, I just suck at making small talk.
>>
>>22373521
"Sounds good, I guess, I was thinking about using Aura and Ami to generate some conflict, but Wavelegnth could work, too."

Honestly, I remember absolutely zip about the show, I'm just playing it by ear.
>>
>>22373554
Frank: "Uhm? wouldnt miss Morrigan punch the head off the new girl? she´s quite the spunky girl, if I remember right"

Mai: "She is actually quite sweet when you know her, sir. And I am somewhat surprised the advertising-seeking Khali has not sent her manager to make us the same offer in her name"

Frank: "Well, consider it and give me a call, alright?"
>>
>>22373619

"Oh, definitely" Ned nods.

Query: Are we expecting Ric Flair to be stylin' and profilin' all over this party? How about Bomber's manager?
>>
>>22373744
Yeah, Ric Flair should be around here somewhere. Bomber´s manager, I don´t know.

Anyway, that makes a good point, is a good chance to make business contacts. Do you want to roleplay it or just roll it? you get 8d10 if you roll it, and I´ll give you 2 extra dice if you type it first
>>
>>22373802

RP, but not Story Time.

Bidding goodbye to Frank, Ned serruptitiously scans the room, looking for the Big Boss, Ric Flair

"Ever, wanted to meet an all-time ring legend, Mai?"
>>
>>22373901
Mai: "Part of me, sure, but I would not want to find the man different from the tale. Still, you have something in mind, do you not?"

Finding Ric Flair in a crowd is about as easy as finding up and down, most of the time. The nature boy himself may be older, but that does not mean that he´s "older". With a custom-tailored suit and tie, wearing shoes that cost more than the building the party is happening at, you find the man surrounded by a crowd as he talks like a man thirty years younger may.
>>
>>22373997

"There's always a plan" Ned grins "If this goes well, the rest of the night is free and clear"

Carefully navigating his way through the crowd, Ned heads towards Ric.

Did we get around to giving Ned that luck power, yet?
>>
>>22374049
gah I totally forgot, but you can basically roll 5d10, and keep any successes as extra dice for skills during a scene.

Anyway guys, I´m gonna go grab a bite, and need to go to a job interview in a bit. Continue tomorrow, I hope
>>
>>22374136

OK, cool. See you tomorrow.

Just one thing - could you post the current sheet for Ned before you go, please?
