They thought it was over. They thought the Quest was over. They thought the Long Fangs were naught but a distant memory.

They.
Thought.
Wrong.

It's BACK, fine and Elegan/t G/entlemen of the Long Fangs tribe! That's right; the Civilization Quest has returned! Did you miss me?

When last we left our bronze-age tribe, the massive joint warband of the Long Fangs, the Lion Tribe and the Earthsplitters had retreated in disarray from the battle of the Sun People village. Can the tribe survive the coming times of trouble and hardship? Only ONE group of wise and totally-not-flying-by-the-seat-of-their-pants-mumbling-about-killing-and-eating-and/or-making-babies-with-gods people can lead them through this... You brave souls of /tg/!

Let's get started, shall we? Who's ready?

The previous thread is here: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/22139408/

Let's start the new year off right!
>>
>>22377429
I most certainly missed you.

You magnificent British bastard.
>>
Bumping, I suppose... Good to see you too Ska. Ordinary rules still apply, so the timer is up! Thirty minutes to go until I abandon this thread and try again on Tuesday.
>>
>>22377799
Aww. Let's hope somebody else shows up in time.

Hello!
>>
Hopeful bump?

Can we start with two people? I'm sure a thrid one will show up soon...
>>
Here! I'm here!
>>
Had a wee bit of trouble finding the thread to be honest, otherwise I would've been here 15 minutes ago.

Not to mention I went to get dinner and well the important thing is that I'm here now.
>>
>>22378419
I guess that was a no ska. Oh well, hopefully people werent put off by not having a thread this past Tuesday and figured it was done.
>>
>>22377429
Oh thank god, how long I have waited for this day, it felt like ages.
>>
>>22378632
Ditto, I felt crushed when there wasn't a thread on the first lol. Ah well, looks like we're waiting until next tuesday anyway.
>>
>>22378687
Same as me... Was on /tg/ and kept hitting F5 for 3 hours straight...
>>
>>22378719
Only 90 minutes for me. "But, but he said the fiiiiiirst."
>>
>>22378769
He tests our faith. He is a wise but cruel Britfag. In his name we play.
>>
Well, I guess it's time to scoop up the pile of shit that is our tribe and...what can you really do with shit?

Hmm, I guess the other tribes can use us as a compost to make their gardens grow?

Or I guess we can make shit bricks?
>>
Hey folks! Sorry for the brief delay. Had to endure family matters and couldn't walk away. Let's get started, shall we? Let's see... Where were we?
>>
>>22378995
I knew I stuck around for something lol.

>>22378963
We can learn and thrive. Well, learn, suffer horrendously and then thrive after beating back attempts to usurp our lands and all.
>>
>>22378995

I think the sun tribe was shitting down our throat, we said "thank you master," and then ran away. If i recall correctly.
>>
>>22379033
Yeah, sounds about right. The three gods showed up and left us with questions and the ES Chieftain was acting all pissy. Wonder why?
>>
>>22379054

Dunno, maybe we should assassinate him now.
>>
>>22379134
That might look fishy to be honest. And the ES are probably in a good position to give us shit if they decide we had anything to do with it.
>>
> WHEN LAST WE LEFT OUR HEROES...

The warband doesn't stop all that day and by the following night, they are exhausted, almost falling asleep as soon as the warband stops for the night. Fighting past fatigue though, Mikuhla takes the chance to pray. What he gets in response is... Unexpected. It is a rare thing for gods to manifest and walk among the mortals of the world whenever called to. Most often they simply rely on vague projections, if they chose to show any sign of their presence to aught but their priests. It's therefore unexpected when Khoine appears in a flurry of snowflakes, looking battered, tattered and worn, but very much alive, throwing her arms around Mikuhla at once! Even more unexpected however... Is the faint image of Ermetha that also appears, as well as the image of a man unknown to the tribe, both of whom stay politely quiet, until Khoine finally lets the Long Fang priest go.
Ermetha simply sighs and shakes her head at Mikuhla, "Well... That could have gone better," she states."

> What will the tribe ask of the goddesses and their companion?
>>
>>22379207
What are you hiding? Are you related?
>>
>>22379207
What happened between the two of you? What happened to the Sun People? And who's this new guy?
>>
>>22379207
Who's the new guy?
Why are you all here now together?
and
What do you mean that could've gone better?

inb4 "It just could have."
>>
>>22379253
Also, show every respect due to their godly status. Don't want to come across as an ass and bring down even more hardship on our starving people.
>>
I have no input. Give me my special forces so I can properly recon before we go to war.
>>
>>22379288
I imagine that will be entirely possible now. Especially since Derrik said last time that while not good for fighting, wolves are excellent scouts.

Throw some men with GoT warg like abilities, well, insta-badassery.
>>
>>22379278

Definitely this. No need to make demands and such - they won't talk to us if they don't want to anyway. Might as well be polite - all of them have helped us in the past.

>>22379412

Yea definitely Derrik, especially how he failed us so far! (My fault, I know, totally take responsibility - but I didn't expect him to STRAIGHT UP run away, he could have at least said he can't fight but still led the unit, or something).
>>
>>22379475

By that I mean that he might take responsibility and try hard. Somehow came off as sarcastic, but it wasn't.
>>
>>22379532
I agree. Some mention of being too old to lead would have been pleasant but in hindsight that much was obvious.

He'll just become our priest in charge of training scouts and such. That's the best I can really imagine doing with him as of right now and it's not like that isn't important to our future goals at all, lol.
>>
>>22379577

As much as it was obvious, it was also implied that while we are giving him free reign, we are doing so on the assumption that he will use his best judgement to honor the position and trust he was given. He betrayed that trust by not telling us that he is just going to go hide-out. Unacceptable as hell. But yea, trainer he is from now on.
>>
All well that ends poorly, I say. Learn and grow, grow and thrive.

Then merc the shit out of the sun people. Assuming the gods here don't tell us otherwise. Totes going to need their support in this endeavor.
>>
>>22379241
Ermetha raises one eyebrow at the question, looking confused, "Related? Why would you think that?" she gestures vaguely towards Khoine, who now stands next to Mikuhla, her hand in his, "Khoine is no relation of mine. Marnath on the other hand..."
The male beside her bows his head slightly and it's clear now a distinct resemblance to the Sun-In-Ascent beside him, "You might call us brother and sister. I am the younger. To the Sun People, I am known as the Sun-In-Descent."
>>22379248
"As to what happened to the Sun People... That is for them to decide. They are no more harmed than when you left them," Ermetha folds her arms and shakes her head, "Khoine and I fought to a standstill, before we heard Mikuhla's call. Speaking of which..." she looks over at the priest and shakes her head, "I will decide upon your punishment later. I gave you one, simple command and you disregard it. This will not stand."
>>22379253
"As for what I meant..." she sighs, "I was resolved not to interfere in the battle. Your squabbles are not of my concern, as whoever won, I would still have worshippers among the victors. Besides, your argument was not one of religion, as I recall," she smirks wryly at the tribe, "You refused the aid of the gods for the fight. I cannot decide if you are brave, or simply foolish, though I err more toward the latter. Once Khoine took the field however, I was forced to intervene. I will not allow a fellow god to wreak destruction upon my followers without being answered."

> I am so sorry that took so long. I'm not dead, I swear!
>>
>>22380472
>she looks over at the priest and shakes her head, "I will decide upon your punishment later.
Yikes.
>>
>>22380472
>> I am so sorry that took so long. I'm not dead, I swear!
You better not be. I need my twice-weekly dose of civ quest and I've been in withdrawal for too long now...
>>
>>22380517
Also- TWO SUN GODS? These people are fucking unstoppable. Thank god we retreated.
>>
>>22380472
That's all good and well now, but why are all three of them here?

Also, just remembered, if they feel up to it, maybe they could inform us of a village or two not too far off our path that we could trade with for food and such. Or maybe some sort of hunting area with lots of deer or, screw it, I don't know. Anything they might be able to offer would be grand.
>>
>>22380626
Seconding this. Further explanation is required as to what the hell is going on.
>>
>>22380626
The gods exchange a look and Marnath steps forward, "When Mikuhla called to Khoine, we thought it best to put in an appearance. We have come to make you an offer. The sun people will want vengeance, but if you will agree to penance, we will see to it that do not take revenge upon your tribe."
"First though," Ermetha interjects, scowling, "You will agree to worship the pair of us. I will afford no aid to those who do not give prayers and make offerings, especially when they have slain my followers."
"We ask not," says Marnath, raising his hands placatingly, "That you cease worshipping your other gods. The Sun People, as you call them, demand that the gods they encounter bow before us, but we do not, though we allow them their practice. Mikuhla will teach you how to worship my sister, should you agree and through her, I shall find an acolyte of my own."
"That is our offer," Ermetha nods, folding her arms, "Take it, or we shall do nothing to restrain the Sun People's lust for revenge."
>>
I am here, no one panic.
>>
What excellent timing you have, Refrek.
I am present as well.
>>
>>22381197
Ask them exactly what they shall be doing, and if possible could they impure the Sun Folk to sign the Riverlands Concord.
>>
>>22381197
I say we haggle. We're already prepared for revenge, we have a plan at least. If they don't attack that's perfect, but we can work with it if they do. I say we try and use this as a chance to release Mikuhla from service to her holy sunness. I can writefag something up if y'all agree.
>>
>>22381357
Yes, how about we offer up his punishment to be banished from her service as a priest. We set him up as khoine's priest, and instead give Ermetha a new one who hasn't pissed her off.
>>
>>22380517
(We might be able to swing the idea that him no longer being her priest could be a pretty severe punishment. We remove him from her service and instead set him up with khoine. Then my plan for demigod babies will be one step closer.)
>>
>>22381197
So... we get merced and then they offer to protect us? Right. And they don't mind if we attack the sun people as was made obvious by what she said before.

As I see it, we won't be getting attacked thus giving us one less thing to worry about as we struggle to rebuild our civilization. I'm sure there will be fights enough during that without the sun people.

Is this penance only going to consist of worship or what? I grow tired of having to agree to things without being told entirely what we are agreeing with.
>>
>>22381377
Doubt it would work, she knows how much Khione and him wanna do the hanky-panky, she's not gonna buy it. I say we offer that she can still give her 'punishment,' but he still gets to leave her service. In return we'll build them their shrines, and find two new priests to satisfy them.
>>
>>22381413
>>22381357

I think we all know that Ermetha wont release him from his priesthood to her. She has no reason to. Not going to lie, she comes across as incredibly vindictive sometimes. Not that we havent given her much reason to be.
>>
>>22381439
Here I have a speech.

"We never wanted to go to war. They were the ones who threw the first stone, and showed us they were willing to gather more. While we do not wish for any further bloodshed we are prepared for it, already we have planned our counter action to set ourselves ready for an invasion. If you cost is too great then we shall not ask for your help. You gods, you lord over us and treat us as inferior. Maybe we are, but you are nothing without us. It makes sense, the more we believe in you the more powerful you become. Khoine was birthed from our fear of winter, and Groza of our need for war. Worship is, at least in part, what grants you your strength, otherwise there would be no point in asking for it. Let us barter, but not as a lord giving us the scraps. Let us do this as equals."
>>
>>22381468
Yes, but as I put in my speech we need to change this bartering to that among equals. We have shown we have strength enough to contest the gods, and that we have something they desire. No more of this letting them rule over us with an iron fist, we walk the path into the future as equals.

>>22381483
True, but we might be able to convince her to let him leave her service. She does not seem heartless.
>>
>>22381519
*applause*

Furthermore, know that we too have gods. We worship the Wolf, the River, the Honorable Fight and Bitter Cold. Know that should your people go to war with us, you will find no worshipers amongst the Long Fangs. Know that every time one of your zealots die throwing themselves against us, you too shall wither and fade into the primordial nothingness you were before we walked these lands.
>>
>>22381519
Eh... an bit more subtlety might be necessary. We can still get us on equal grounds, but if we let them realize that, they might feel threatened. Remember, they're making this offer assuming they have the upper hand. As long as we can get them to think that they're still in control, we might have an easier time convincing them to see things our way. If not, they can just retract and leave, they have no reason to stay, hence why we have to be so delicate.
>>
>>22381575
Yes, we should emphasize that point, as their people die crashing against our gates their worship disappears. Lets call them out on this.

"There is fear in you. If your tribes die your worship will disappear, if they destroy themselves while fighting us you will fade into obscurity. We shall know of you, but as a distant memory of an enemy bested. I do not desire for you to disappear, but you have not given us much reason to help you stay upon our world."

We need to set up an exchange system, this amount of power for this amount of worship. If we can get a standard going this will be good.
>>
>>22381595
I want them to know we are no longer playing games. They should know that they no longer have the upper hand just because they are gods, and that we are on an equal playing field. Should the sun folk come we will fight them, and destroy those who worship the twin suns. It will bring about the end of their following and possibly the end of them with it. I vote our speech still stands, call them out on the fact that worship must mean something to them beyond vanity.
>>
>>22381595
I agree, I like the spirit of the speech to be sure. A bit more tact would be good, but the main point of us maybe not being equal to, but still very important to them is one that needs to be established at some point even if that isn't right now.

And for the love of god

"Hey, really quick, just a random question before you go, do you know of any nearby villages that we could trade with for some food or maybe a mcdonalds or something? That would be awesome."
>>
>>22381653
Also, we definately need to bargain with Hrunti on instructions on How To Kill a God once we get back. He hinted before that it was possible, but he wouldn't tell us yet because he didn't trust us with that knowledge.

Maybe now that we worship him more, and now that he's become a standard in our little Pantheon, maybe now he'll at least teach his priest about it.

Speaking of which, where did Hrunti's priest go to?
>>
>>22381685
>>22381653
Naw man, don't threaten them right now. They still have followers and are therefore still powerful.

Besides that Marnath seems pretty chill, don't want to put down a bad first impression. Or at least make this one any worse.
>>
>>22381595
"We thank you for this kindness, oh gods of the rising and setting sun, but, please, understand why this war even began- it was not just because we felt attacked, but because we felt we were being trapped. You spirits exist on another plane from us mortals, and the way you may think is a mystery to us at times. As such, the rules you ask us to adhere to, perhaps believing them to be simple and reasonable, can be the exact opposite to us. We can understand if you perhaps have a natural quarrel with the goddess of the cold, but understand that your quarrels should not extend to the realm of love as they do with her and Mikhula. They care for each other very much, as the devotion she showed in her fight with you may have proven- so if we may ask anything, if only to make this deal of peace that much more permanent, please, release Mikhula. We will provide you with however many followers you require, but if you force him to submit to your will in such a way, there can be no doubt that further altercations will occur between our two tribes. Punish him, if you see it as just, but please, give him his freedom back, we humbly beg of you, her ladyship of the sun.
>>
>>22381690
Yes, we need to know exactly what worship gives them. I have a feeling that the spirits are basically congealed human emotion (like chaos gods). If we offer them worship it increases their strength, but if they are unknown it will diminish them. Maybe a tad more tact would be good, but we must make the point that we are an equal player in negotiations and that they can not simply walk all over us.

As for asking of a nearby village to trade with I see that as an excellent point which we need to raise.

Someone rewrite my speech with a little more tact in mind and lets get this show on the road.
>>
>>22381716
>Speaking of which, where did Hrunti's priest go to?
Derrik is resting his lazy old ass on the back of a supply cart, drinking some booze.
>>
>>22381725
So we should lick their boots and grovel before them?

If we accept these terms, the Sun People will try to make OUR gods bow before Ermetha and Marnath.
>The Sun People, as you call them, demand that the gods they encounter bow before us, but we do not, though we allow them their practice.
>>
>>22381749
That's too much. If we show them our bellies they will cut us open. We can not be that much of pushovers before the gods.

>>22381725
Fine, but we must emphasize the point we are catching onto the fact that worship means something to them, and that we come to this negotiation as equal parties both with something to offer.
>>
>>22381771
I do not think that is what she means. If we play our cards right we might be able to get strength without giving up too much.
>>22381760
I kinda understand his point, but I believe he should have raised it before we sent him into battle.
>>
>>22381786
If you look closely, you can see that the deal I'm really making here would be one as two groups finding an agreement over peace, not one side asking for mercy. We are both looking to end the fighting, as it is, they will see the offering of followers, and the logic of continued peace, as well as the promise of punishment, and hey, may even find a little mercy/ respect in their hearts for Khoine. Acting all tough after we just ran away with our tails between our legs just seems like further shooting ourselves in the foot, and potentially scaring them off of the whole deal, which would be seriously beneficial to us in like a game changing way.
>>
>>22381879
I agree to the general idea of the speech, but not the wording. We come off as extremely weak and subservient, the "humbly beg" and what not. We must emphasize our equal parts at this table along with our desire to make a deal.
>>
>>22381879
I disagree completely.

We must assert ourselves to the gods, even if it's just to see how on the mark we are with our idea of how worship works.

It's a gamble, yes, but it could offer us a GIANT bargaining chip when dealing with future hostile gods.

I think that
>>22381519
Emphasized by
>>22381575
Is a good combination.

Plus, it totally sounds like something our confrontational and impulsive leader would say.
>>
>>22381927
We're asking a lot from her. If we don't come across as humble, we won't get it. This is a really big chance to turn the tables in our favor. Just be careful, is all I'm saying.
>>
Let us put it to a vote. Who believes we should go with my speech, and who believes we should go with Mojo's?
>>
>>22381963
Vote Aye for Refrek's Speech, modified at the end by my own addendum.
>>
>>22381943
She is asking a lot of us too. She wants our worship (at a large increase), and peacemaking after they threw the first stone. All she is offering is to make sure they will not invade, something we will be able to deal with when the time comes. A defensive battle is a much easier one to handle, and depending on how we prepare we can crush their army, and thus cut off an enormous part of their worship. Unlike us they are zealots, I doubt they will retreat if they are losing. She knows that, she knows what they have to lose here. Press our point.
>>
>>22381963
If I understand correctly, if you just got your asses handed to you, then Mojo's is the way to go.
>>
>>22381980
Yes, your speech with the add on I made. So basically this:

Let us do this as equals. There is worry in you. If your tribes die your worship will disappear, if they destroy themselves while fighting us you will fade into obscurity. We shall know of you, but as a distant memory of an enemy bested. I do not desire for you to disappear. I respect your for defending your people in their time of need, but you have not given us much reason to help you stay upon our world."
>>
>>22382019
We didn't so much get our asses handed to us as have a draw. We lost ~100 men, and they probably lost about half that number. Honestly it went better than I expected.
>>
>>22382019
We "got our asses" handed to us by coming to what amounted to a little less than a draw. And Because we lost a bit more than they did, they want to dictate terms and act all high and mighty, and force us to worship these arrogant sun gods.
>>
>>22381519
"Silence!" snaps Ermetha, stepping forward and glaring at the speaker, "You speak lies and the pride of an ignorant child! YOU attacked the Sun People first. They caused no harm to either your village or people! All that they did was seek to punish one who defended a god who had attacked their village!" She shoots a cutting look back at Khoine, who hangs her head.
"It is true," the snow goddess admits, "I was panicked when they confronted me and would not let me see Mikuhla. I used my magic to attack them, fearing for his life."
"Whereupon I defended my people and bested you," nods Ermetha, "As it well should be. And did I not preserve Mikuhla from the fate he would have met?"

>>22381575
"Further, she continues, scoffing, you know nothing of the gods. We do not NEED you mortals. I most certainly do not! Though your god of battle may have done once, he does no longer."
Marnath nods and speaks more calmly than his sister, "My sister an I are the gods, the spirits of a thing that IS. All that we required of mortals in truth was our names, that let us BE, as you do. Groza is a god of a thing that is THOUGHT. Battle and a fair fight is a human concept, which he now embodies. Your hearts birthed him, as did those of all others in this valley, then you gave him a name to let him BE."
"But worshippers, we 'need' not," agrees Ermetha, "Though are our due as divinities and are nice to have. Do not seek to threaten us so. You have witnessed only the strength of gods new-born and awkward in their essence. You would not wish to fight us now."
"Nor is there a need to, sister," says Marnath, soothingly, "We do not seek to offer you scraps, but to make you a deal. Agree to our worship and to abide by our commandments in that worship and we shall endeavour to stay the Sun People's hand. Or else, fend for yourself. It is your choice."
>>
>>22382082
Its not the sun folk who come to us with this offer, do not treat it as such. Their gods are coming and asking for peace, which is extremely significant. It means they have reason to keep us around, maybe it is fear that their people can not win, or possibly desire for a larger power base with our worship. In any event they want us to be alive for some reason, otherwise they would not have interfered. Also, as Britfag stated gods do not normally appear, especially if not called. They came to us, that is extremely significant.
>>
>>22382082
Far from a draw it seems to me. We lost two whole tribe's armies, as well as a lot of our own. They on the other hand, lost very little in comparison, and we only got to their gate.
>>
>>22382120
Dammit.
>>
>>22382120
Well, we have some more ideas into god's nature. Let us do this then.

"We agree to your terms, we shall build you both a temple as we have with our other gods. However we can not offer you a higher place than that, we worship a pantheon of many. You will have an equal place there. We simply have two more questions. You say worship is nice to have, and that it is your due as divinities. Does it offer you any actual strength. And also, are there any villages between here and our homes, we wish to barter for food and goods at them. We do not know the land, and could possibly all die before we return, and your offer would be dead with us."
>>
I know that would piss them off.

Whatever.

Britfag, I ask you, man to man/man to voice of gods/man to britfag, will they keep us from attacking the sun people in the future?

From what has been said previously I don't think they will but that is my only concern.

Otherwise I accept their offer assuming we can continue this war at a later date.
>>
>>22382254
Please- give my idea another chance. It might work still, if we can maybe get someone who seems more wise, like Derrik to deliver it. Please?
>>
>>22382160
It's ok, the offer still stands. While she is testy it seems Marnath is a lot more calm. We can agree now and always stop later when we have enough strength that we know we can best the sun folk. In addition, through them, we might be able to barter for true peace. I did not know the battle was started by Khoine, and maybe we might be able to use our mutual ignorance to get them to be a part of the Riverlands Concord. Not now of course, but in a few years when things calm down. The first step is invite them to the yearly festival.
>>
>>22382254
Sweet jesus, Ref. That was by far the best thing I've ever seen you write. Specifically the part about the agreement dying with us. that guarantees at least some of us survive.
>>
>>22382324
Ok, I throw my support behind you then. I vote for your plan.

Thank you. We have time, and I really like the wording of your last response, if you wanna find some way to work the two together, I would be willing to work with it.
>>
>>22382336
...thank you?

>I got us killed before, so I'm trying to make up for it. At least one good thing came out of all of this, we are part of the Riverlands Concord.
>>
>>22382304
It's to be assumed it would not. You don't know for sure.
>>
>>22382399
Dammit Britfag.

Anyway, let us put this to a vote. I believe we should go with Mojo's speech (with a tad of the boot licking turned down), and then follow it up with my thing. Basically just shove the two together.

Britfag, here are the two speeches:
>>22381749
and
>>22382254
>>
>>22382382
>>22382386
Whatever you two decide is fine with me as long as asking about a nearby village or two along the way is in there with that bit about the agreement dying if we don't get some sort of help to get back.

And if we do find some other village, well, there we go. More friends or at least learn the location of enemies.
>>
>>22382437
By the way, in terms of the game we can swing the vastly different speaking styles as two different individuals supplying the words. Mine can be Gerins, and Mojo's could be... someone else...(I don't know who in our tribe speaks like that, lets just say it was a family head that is with us). Also, before we agree to anything we need to know what the chieftain of the earth splitters and the lion tribe's leaders think.
>>
>>22382520
Jahkra the Disagreeable, of the Mulehead clan, never know to be satisfied with an answer until the very end. Yes, that suits me just fine, just fine indeed.
>>
>>22382520
I was wondering that myself but I dont think that would have mattered until you mentioned it lol. I'd imagine the protection would cover them too since they are with us and I doubt either of them wants to starve so accepting probably wont be an issue.
>>
>>22382571
I believe that brings us up to a total of seven distinct clans within our village.
>>
>>22382571
Lets all just develop tribal alter egos then. Shit.

I want Blandus Longwynd, of the Longwynd Clan. Best knowing for talking endlessly and questioning the decisions of the Spinesnapper Clan.

Sounds about right.
>>
>>22382684
Refrek BloodEye, leader of the Spine Snapper Clan. I'm named blood eye for when, during a battle long ago, I was stuck with a blow to the head. The blood vessels in my right eye burst, painting it forever crimson. I'm vicious, and next to Gerin's clan, have the largest number of members among the devouts.
>>
>>22382571
>>22382684
Namefagging's apparently frowned upon on /tg/. I don't give a rat's ass if you pick a name for my quest or not, but don't think you're JUST restricted to speaking as one character. Pick random tribesfolk, family members or heads, heroes, anyone.

What is the vote then? Refrek's speech, or Mojo's?
>>
>>22382790
We're going with Mojo's speech being presented then mine, by two different members of the clan. One by a clan head (mojo's) , and the other by Gerin (mine). If we can only have one I vote for mine to be presented.

>questioning the decisions of the Spinesnapper Clan.

Sounds like you are V's twin then.

I'll be Skalth Evercalm (for my ability to sleep through everything), of the Armstrong clan. Spend most of my time trying to help the wise ones as best I can, or crafting. Not much use for anything else. Also I honour this fighting technique that's been passed on in my clan for generations.
Pic related. It's me.

>>22382752
>painting it forever crimson
Sharingan?

>>22382790
Just rolling this up for fun.
>>
>>22382821
Same, except I vote for mine if there's only one vote.
>>
>>22382790
Fick ja, names.
I figured this:

If we may, we do have two other questions to answer as you see fit, however. You say worship is nice to have, and that it is your due as divinities. Does it offer you any actual strength. And also, are there any villages between here and our homes, we wish to barter for food and goods at them. We do not know the land, and could possibly all die before we return, and your offer would be dead with us."
>>
>>22382898
Ja, there you go. Both speeches with the extraneous parts subtracts.
>>
>>22382901
Blandus took the words right out of my mouth. Agreed.
>>
>>22382896
>Sharingan?
No sharingan, I just have a really fucked up eye. I can't even see out of it, the damn thing is useless.

>Was about to say bloody thing
>Did not want to make a bad pun
>>
>>22382954
Clan Spine Snapper will not sit by our our people show our bellies to the enemy, to cut us asunder. We agree that the protection is something we desire, but only that. We can not turn into piles of jelly before them.
>>
Blandus is such an ugly name, really, but the meaning in latin goes well with my high self opinion and verbosity. Also, seriously, we're two dice roles away from D&D it feels like.
>>
>>22382901
seconding this

>>22382958
>Did not want to make a bad pun
lol'd anyway.

>>22383002
What is the meaning?

I won't be able to recognise you guys anymore with your changed names...
>>
>>22383002
Meh, maybe we should back off from the playing our roles thing and go back to quite observers who make all the decisions.
>>
>>22383080
Skalth isn't a woman's name though! At LEAST spell it in greek?ples ._. ?
>>
>>22383096
Why play the puppet when you can be the puppeteer. I'm keeping my name, but Jahkra remains my mouthpiece.
>>
>>22383080
Charming, persuasive, flattering, bunch of other nice sounding shit. And the Longwynd

I make charming speeches, lol.
>>
>>22383129
Refrek remains mine as well, also I claim Gerin. MOTHER FUCKING GERIN.

>Someone take mickey
>>
>>22383096
Aww...

>>22383116
If you tell me how?
Also how about "Bruder Imp" or "Imp the/der Bruder"?

>>22383143
Heh.
>>
>>22383176
He who speaks for Mickey may as well speak for Khoine. It's no fair
>>
>>22383211
I don't want that kind of responsibility.

Also, where are MAH BABIES! I need some demi god children and stat!
>>
I think britfag left in disgust.
>>
>>22383276

Who knows?
>>
>>22382901
"It is not a matter of a quarrel between myself and Khoine," Ermetha shakes her head, "There is no true hatred between us."
"Merely dislike," sniffs Khoine, giving Ermetha a dirty look.
"Merely a rivalry," re-states the sun goddess, "And that is not the issue. Mikuhla is my priest and must abide by my laws. That was the bargain he struck for his deliverance. He breaches this agreement and therefore must be punished for it. I will suffer no less."
Mikuhla bows his head and agrees. "My goddess has the right of it. I will abide by her punishment."
"You ask me to relinquish what is mine," Ermetha continues, "You ask with respect, so I will let it slide, but do not ask again. Moreover, Mikuhla swore to my service willingly. That oath is binding and I demand that my worshippers abide by their oaths. This, I will not change." Her stern look seems to soften a little however, when she looks back at Mikuhla and Khoine so close, "...I am not without mercy. But a price must be paid for such open defiance. It shows a lack of respect for the gods."

"As to your other questions... I know of no other village between you and your home." The warband groans, but Marnath steps forward.
"You have with you a priest of the wolf. You will not starve," he simply states, looking at Derrik. Despite being blind, the old priest somehow knows to incline his head in return.
"To know what mortals do for us is not your lot," continues Ermetha, "Merely know what we do for you - we offer our followers our blessings; and our priests, a portion of our magic."

The two sun divinities seem satisfied with the warband's response. "It is done then," declares Ermetha, "Know that you are bound by your oath to me and before me. Should you break this bond, my wrath shall fall upon you and the fires of the sun shall ever be your enemy." So saying, she holds her hand high, a light of blinding intensity shining from it. When the light dims, she and her brother are no-where to be seen
>>
>>22383581
Ah well. It was worth a shot. And it looks like she might actually consider Khoine and Mickey's relationship.
And hooray! Dragging Derrik along wasn't a complete waste!
>>
>>22383581
Khoine too shares one last embrace with Mikuhla, before vanishing in a squall of snowflakes, her form dissipating into the flurry.

> Is there anything else to do in the warband before the turn is FINALLY ended?

INCIDENTALLY... The Heroes are not exclusively your mouthpieces. You can give them words to speak and if the votes are with you, they will say as such, but they have their OWN personalities and their OWN priorities and agendas. Do not always expect them to say just as you want them to, or even to act in the way you want at all, if it goes too much against their grain. Think of them as important NPCs you are ordering around, not player characters themselves.
>>
>>22383581
That could have ended much worse than it did.

Also proves that Hrunti>Other Gods

Gorza couldn't exist without humanity.
Chani is bound to her river.
Khoine is still young and lacking control

Hrunti is wise, Hrunti is strong. Hrunti was the First God of the Longfangs, and I will be damned and dismembered if he isn't properly honored.
>>
>>22383654
I hear that. The White Wolf reigns supreme! Second only to the Long Fangs.
>>
>>22383645
Yes I believe that is it, send them home. That was also revealing, it was not our lot but it does something for them. Khoine probably does not know yet, but she might someday and be willing to tell us. We need to prepare for our war bands return. Now that we have a guarantee that war will not follow us we can prioritize that we need to do.

1. Get our food situation stable
2. Increase our god lore, send the priests on their pilgrimages to the spirit realms.
3. Increase our defense, and force that damn smith to teach us bronze already.
>>
>>22383654
Just because Groza is a human creation does not make him weak. We should not treat him as such, as for the other two's limitations they are real. However I have an idea on how to increase Chani's dominion.
>>22383814
This is me.
>>
>>22383814
Eh I'll second it. Though we'll probably need to go around and organize another meeting of the tribes... not looking forward to it.
>>
>>22383838
>how to increase Chani's dominion.
Flood the whole riverlands or turn them into swampland?

Or more reasonably a moat / irrigation system. Please I want that...
>>
>>22383846
We'll be returning just before it is time for the next tribal festival. It'll be held and we shall lay the dead to rest. Honestly from the battle I do not think they can be too angry with us. We have a guarantee from their gods that they are not coming after us. Hopefully if they come back to food and previsions in the tribe we might be able to get the mood a bit higher.

>>22383863
Of course not, that would be insane. Instead, as we know her power is contained within the water and not the area of land itself we may be able to bring the water with us. With pottery we may be able to basically increase her power base, possibly if we move the water to small pools or some such we construct.
>>
>>22383838
We can't increase her dominion, nor should we try. A river spirit is very useful to have, and we should always hold her close to our hearts.

But Groza is weaker than Hrunti, objectively, because Groza is a spirit of Fair Battle. He will never make an unfair attack, never go for a disarmed foe. Hrunti holds no such hesitations. Hrunti is the wolf, a hunter and a stalker and a spirit of the forest. Hrunti is probably our most powerful god at this point.
>>
End the turn. Tuesday will be our horrendously awful return to life in the village. When they hear that we lose, shit is really going to hit the fan.
>>
>>22383937
That's just it, Hrunti is the wolf, not a god of battle. He has already shown that he can not help us in large scale combat, the wolves unable to deal with it. If we want battle strength it's either Groza or we have to make a new god. At the moment we only need a few more gods to increase our pantheon:

A fertility god
A harvest god (we're already getting one)
A death god
A knowledge god
A forge god
>>
>>22384030
Technically we did broker peace, and the siege merely failed. A retreat isn't a loss. If we spin this right we will be able to not have too much outrage.
>>
>>22384030
I agree. End the turn.

Have our people forage / hunt all the way back to base. Let Derrik shine with his abilities...
>>
Can we stop pissing off the gods now? I know Refrek is a badass, but we are also about to starve to death.
>>
>>22384065
There is more to the world that War, brother Refrek.

Hrunti is our best bet for godlore, for learning more about the world around us. He is one of the older gods, one of the wiser and more intelligent gods.

And don't think that us defeating Hrunti the first time he ever fought a human was some sort of sign that he was a weak fighter. If anything it just means that Hrunti is wise in knowing to observe the enemy's strengths for now, and seek revenge at the opportune moment.
>>
>>22384079

We don't have shit to spin Ref, we got owned like little bitches. We brought a bunch of people together and we got them all fucked up. Don't forget that we also have some starving Lion bros in our village.

Actions speak louder than words, and all that. You constantly try to push the opposite.

This isn't the modern stock market or modern politics, where who gets elected is utterly insignificant.
>>
>>22384065

We are keeping Hrunti for my spec ops. I don't mean to be a dick, but I don't think this is even open to discussion.

Also, he is the only one you haven't managed to piss off yet, as far as i remember.
>>
>>22384079
We'll have to be very careful with our words... and we should hold the discussions in our village, home field advantage and all that- of course that also makes it easier for them to just riot and destroy our home... oh dear
>>
>>22384206
I was not the one who wanted them in our village. In addition, the battle might have been won if we had gotten our god's strength (something I was pushing for since the beginning).

That doesn't matter now however. We need to spin as much as we can, we can do that as long as we keep the Earthsplitter Chieftain quiet. Actions speak louder than words, that is true, but words sway hearts a lot more easily that swung swords.

We must just go along with the plan, secure food, increase godlore, and get ourselves increased technology. Domination through advancement.
>>
>>22384273
There will be a total of ~100 of them in our village. They won't go to riot against a force seven times their size, it would be insane. I agree though, we need to be careful. We do not speak of victory, but staved off war. We need to own up to the fact that this is in part our failing. However, we must emphasize a looking towards the future.
>>
>>22384251
Calm yourself, brother V.
They are not YOUR spec ops.
And yeah, it is open to discussion, because this is a public thread on a public message board.

>>22384286
This seems like a reasonable course of action, but unless we hit gold with godlore it'll be boring as shit.
Might I suggest my previous idea of learning if there are any magical beasts via Hrunti, and then hunting and capturing/taming said magical beasts?

I mean, it's not like we would lose a battle if we had TAME WAR TROLLS
>>
>>22384332

Ouch Imp Bro, ouch.
>>
>>22384332
If you get war trolls, I want dire war ducks...

Also I'm all for special needs ops. At the right time, of course.
That being right after we fix our food situation, then keep going at it on the side for whatever we do else.
>>
>>22384332
Yes, because Derrik already went on a pilgrimage we are creating a priesthood for him instead. THis priesthood will hunt legendary beasts in his name. We might be able swing taming and capturing them in due time. Hrunti likes a good hunt, I'm sure he won't mind capture over kill.
>>
>>22384431
Dire War Ducks..? I wish I had half you peoples' imagination! I gotta write this shit down! Oh wait, archives.

That's it then! Turn over! Done! Finished! Gods, it took us how long? By this rate, I'll be old and grey by the time the renaissance rolls around! Just kidding; I love you guys.

As it is so late though, I think I will leave it there for tonight. Sorry that took so long. Had to provide emergency help to someone in the middle of a nervous breakdown.

The next thread will be on TUESDAY THE 8th at 1600, EST. That's 4PM, same as always.

I'm excited about this new year, guys. I look forward to running this thread for you as long as you want to keep on playing. Have a great weekend folks and happy new year!
>>
>>22384699

Amazing places, Ref, amazing places. Iron, cities, commerce, magic, sailing, stoneworking, kings, knights, nations... The sky is quite literally no limit to you. All it requires is that the tribe actually DO it. (That and I pay attention instead of little things like telling the Hose of Commons where t- WHOOPS DID I JUST SAY THAT?
