"Ah, yes. The new recruit. Katie, right? Right. Here's your Pokemon, name it whatever you want." The woman told you, shoving a pokeball in your hands. She's your boss, Doctor Musashi. "Now, we're the only Rockets in the Hoenn region right now, because of the presence of two other fueding teams. Now is our chance to take this region from them, while they're busy with each other. If you do well, you might get rewarded with new Pokemon. Any pokemon you capture or steal are to be turned in to me." She ordered.

"Yes ma'am." You reply smartly. You're a little nervous, you've never really worked with Pokemon before but a lot of people do it just fine.

"Good, now shoo. Go find something out about those teams." Doctor Musashi tells you, waving you out of the room. You wander out into one of the training areas and release your new Pokemon. To your immense surprise a young woman pops out with a mane of dark hair and a large serrated sword on her back. Poking out of her hair are two wolfish ears and a small black tail peeks out from the black bicycle shorts she's wearing. She stares at you with piercing red eyes.

"Poochyena?" You say questioningly. The young woman inclines her head in acknowledgement. "Well...um, Carlos. I'm your new Trainer?" You greet, holding your hand out for her to shake. After a moment, she takes it, her grip frighteningly strong.

Now, you ought to

"Although...Maybe Carla would be better. Now, let's go train!" You tell her excitedly. She nods, a grim expression on her face. Then you realize, you don't have a Pokedex so you have no clue what her attacks are. "Um...what can you do?" You ask her. She draws her sword and assaults the training dummy, shredding it with ease, cleaving through metal and fabric alike. "Uh, right. Well, let's call the one Slash, I guess. Right. Um, actually can you speak? Because that would make this so much easier." You said. She paused for a moment and seemed like she was trying to say something and failing. With some coaching througout the day, you manage to teach her the beginnings of speaking in English when you remember you wanted to do training with her. Well, maybe tomorrow.

>Pokegirls
Not all pokemon are like this, they're a new Rocket Experiment stolen from Silph Co, who designed them to be used for errands and chores around the house that required human hands. As for why them? Because I read another quest that had them brought up in a neat way, and I thought it was kind of neat. Decided to run with it.

BINGO! Do this. Also, question the ethics of people-pokemon when you get a moment to be brooding and alone.

Emphasize being personable with your battle buddy. Canines are loyal to a fault, but you need to get her to be loyal in a more intelligent way because your pokemon is also like a person (for some reason). Therefore, communication, spending time together, stuff like that. Try not to play anything too aggressive or she'll probably kick your ass by sheer strength alone. It seems like she doesn't even have to try to overpower you as it is.

>Communication and Combat, your C and Cs!

You had been wondering why they gave you such a large room with two beds all on your lonesome as a grunt, but it seems kind of obvious now. The next morning you take Carla back to the training room. "Right. Now, let's try and get some language training in while you practice!" You tell her. She nods, grabbing her sword.

"Yes, ma'am!" Carlas answers sharply. You smile at her.

"Now, how about a Tackle on that dummy over there!" You say, pointing. She growls and charges it ramming it with her shoulder. The dummy bends slightly before popping back to its original position. "And, um...how about Growl?" You ask her. Carla's lips peel back to reveal her sharp teeth and a guttural sound comes from her throat as her tail's fur puffs out. "Excellent!" You declare. Carla smiles at the praise. You whittle away most of the morning with her as you have her run laps around the room or practice beating on one of the dummies, occasionally taking a break to teach her a little more English. While she's not perfect, you imagine she could at least pass herself off as a foreigner with her halting language skills. Its actually rather surprising how quickly she's picking this language up. Eventually you stop for lunch and you go to the kitchens with Carla, trying to decide on what to do for the afternoon. Part of you thinks you might want to see about catching some other Pokemon, but you don't really have any Pokeballs right now. As well, you don't think it would be too difficult to hide Carla's features if you wanted to take her out in town.

>Weapons? Equipment?

As you finish lunch, you begin to think about the difficulties that will arise with Carla. You think you might want to get some kind of a normal Pokemon to use, since it might look kind of bad to be sending what seems to be a young woman in to fight for you. Still, catching Pokemon without a Pokeball will be difficult. Maybe you can use some kind of weapon? A gun, or something. Maybe you can ask Dr. Musashi for one? Yes, that seems like a good idea.

"Hm. The humanoid nature of this experiment is why it sat abandoned in Silph. The public didn't like the idea of them battling. We in Team Rocket, however, have use of minions capable of performing both humanoid and superhuman feats. As for aquiring a normal Pokemon, don't worry. If you think you need on, make a request and if its determined to be worth it you will be issued one." Dr. Musashi tells you.

[1/2]
>>
>>22403152
We already have the muscle, so physic powers would make more sense, though I'd rather have a gun.
Also, I would like to propose that we commit at least one crime before the conclusion of this thread.
>>
2/2

"And tranquilizers, ma'am?" You ask. Dr. Musashi hums slightly, tapping one finger to her lips as she thinks.

"I suppose it would be prudent, and it can aid even in capturing an unusually powerful Pokemon. Very well, you will be issued a small dart gun and you may take up to 12 shots out of the armory at a time. Every night, you must return the gun and excess ammo to the armory. In the morning you shall be reissued the weapon and a full 12 shots. As well, for now you can have 2 Pokeballs for use. And remember, when you catch it, turn it in to me." Dr. Musashi replies.

"Thank you, ma'am!" You say before running down to the armory. Carla follows behind you as you receive your equipment from the grunts manning the armory. The holstered gun is a bit uncomfortable and awkward at first, but you get used to it. You hear that in other bases, there's often a store with any equipment a Rocket could need that they can just buy and have put on a tab, but since the Team is so new in Hoenn they don't have anything like that yet.

Let's catch some Pokemon to start as a means of further training to get used to working with Carla and the dart gun. Once we get some practice, we'll start doing proper law breaking.

You explain to Carla what the tranq gun is and how it works. She examines the gun closely, sniffing it slightly, frowning in disgust. "Don't like it. Smells funny." She said.

"I know, but its going to be helpful to us for now." You reassure her. She frowns but nods in acceptance. You practice firing it some in conjunction with her fighting it until you feel fairly confident she can get out of the way in time. Afterwards you and Carla get cleaned up so you don't smell so bad and you have her dress up in a nice dress and sun hat to hide her inhuman features. You want to go into town and get some pokeballs for your own personal use, that way you don't have to turn them in to Team Rocket unless you use one of their balls. That's how it works, right? "Now, let's go into town!" You tell Carla. She smiles in response, careful not to show her teeth. You head out into town to the Department store. After some time arguing with a sales represantitive over their price gouging you walk away with three more Pokeballs. Night fall is coming soon, so unless you want to hunt at night you won't be catching any Pokemon today.

"Right. How good are your senses?" You ask Carla. She looks thoughtful for a moment before answering.

"I can hear your heart. My smell is better." She answers simply.

"Great. We'll need to keep an eye out for people, but we're going Night Hunting tonight!" You tell her. Carla gives you a feral grin, her eyes gleaming with excitement. You make a quick trip back to the base and grab her sword, and Carla changes out of her dress so that you can recall her into her Pokeball. You head out to Route 121 and release Carla into the darkness. She tests the air with her nose cautiously.

"No one." She whispers. Great, so no one is around anywhere nearby.

"Right. Can you sniff out a Pokemon or something?" You ask her. She nods and tests the air again, creeping forward through the grass. A few times you had to stop and hide as a late night traveler passed by on their way to Lilycove. As you leave on hiding spot a dark form drops out of the branches of the tree you were hiding behind with a sinister cackle. It looks like a black cloth draped over some kind of ball with a point at the top and two huge eyes and no mouth. A Shuppet, you think, but you can't remember for certain. You're not certain if your tranquilizer will work on Ghosts, so this might be more difficult than you first planned

Right, ghosts. Ghosts are weak to dark type, and Carla is the Biting Pokemon right? "Um, Carla, do you know Bite?" You half whisper. Carla hefts her sword up, drawing your attention once again to the 'teeth' of her serrated sword. She gives a feral grin and leaps at the Shuppet, attempting to cleave into it with her sword, but the ghost just sort of twirls out of the way. Carla growls and spins hard on one foot to try and attack its back. This time she connects directly and the Shuppet lets out an unearthly wail as her sword rips through it. Something black and wispy leaks out of the gash, and it turns to you, its eyes full of hatred for you. You scramble back in fear, but Carla growls and moves in between you and the Shuppet. The night air around Carla seems to twist and warp, and Carla bites her lower lip and whimpers slightly. This snaps you out of your fear and you grab a Pokeball and throw it at the Shuppet. To watch it anxiously as it bobs several times before finally letting out a reassuring ping as it locks shut. You grab the Pokeball off the ground, and glance at Carla. She's standing strong, but you can tell she's probably hurting after that last attack.

>Return to base
>-Turn the Shuppet in, but request to keep it

With Carla hurt and after your little freak out with the Shuppet, you figure it might be best if you return to base for now. It would put your mind at ease, at least. "Come on, Carla, let's go back." You say. She frowns for a minute before looking your over carefully and nodding. You wish you had something to patch Carla up with. Maybe tomorrow you can head out and scrounge up some berries.

"This way." She whispers, taking your hand and leading you back through the darkness.

"Thanks for the save." You tell her. She blushes slightly, but smiles at the comment.

Back in the base, Dr. Musashi is looking over Carla, the Pokeball with Shuppet in it on a nearby table. "Well, you probably would have been fine with another fight, but its nice to know that you're careful with the equipment issued you." She says. You frown a bit at the way she talks about Carla, but don't talk back for fear of a reprimand. "As for the Shuppet, they're a bit rare so we'll keep it. If you wish, however, we can issue you a Ghastly in return. Either a normal one or an Experimental one." Dr. Musashi replies, as Carla gets off the examination table and moves over to stand by your side.

"Um, an experimental one?" You say. Dr. Musashi nods and marks it down on a clipboard.

"You'll get it in the morning when they hand you your daily allotment of ammo." Dr. Musashi informs you. You thank her, and you and Carla retire to your room for the night. You lay awake for a while, the Shuppets wail echoing in your head. In the middle of the night you hear something scraping and sit up to see Carla hauling her bed closer to yours.

"Smell scared, worried." She whispers as she crawls back into her bed. You give her a reassuring smile, hoping she could see it in the darkness.

"Thanks." You whispe. You see the shadow of her tail suddenly start wagging and you lay back down to go to sleep. This time, it comes easily. The next morning you're handed your gun and ammo and they shove a pokeball into your hands with your Ghastly and another to replace the one you caught the Shuppet with. You head back to the training room and let your newest Pokemon out of their ball. A faint whispy form of a woman appears, mostly transluscent. She's mostly hidden in a shroud of black and purple mist with only her bright red eyes visible, and you're only able to pick out her form because you were expecting to find it. She looks at you curiously before grinning, a disturbingly large smile full of bright white teeth. Now, she needs a name.

Lets have a day out in town.

And let's not burn down the pokecenter.
A little high on the scale, would Definitely catch police attention, and Rocket doesnt have the cloat around here right now to deal with that kinda heat, some highway robbery, or some sort of scam, would work better for the time being.

Selling a cheap kind of lotion or fur polish to the Contest goers would work well. Snake Oil sales them.
In fact, Ekan's Oil, the best for giving your pokemon that edge!! You can drink it, or rub it in their skin/scales/fur for that added sheen, sure to Wow any judge and the audience, especially when the light's hit them 'just' right!

"Eliza. That'll be your name." You decide. Her grin seems to get wider, if it were possible, and she floats slightly in the air. Her gases whisp about lightly as she moves a little closer to you. Carla gives a small warning growl, and Eliza hesitates slightly before just holding her hand out. You reach forward to shake it, but your hand passes right through. Eliza giggles slightly and floats around behind you, her gaseous form curling up around you. "Right, well, we need to do some training. We have to keep in shape, after all!" You declare. Eliza gives you a pointed look, her whispy form shifting slightly. "Or...something..." You mumble. Carla tests Eliza a bit, and Eliza hisses in pain whenever that sword slices through her form. After a while, though, you notice that Carla is moving slower and slower. As they chase each other around, you think about how to make any progress here. Part of you toys with setting the pokemon center on fire, but if you plan to do that you need a way to set the fire without it being traced back to you. You file it away for now, due to a lack of resources. Maybe some kind of scam, then? Or recruitment? They both seem rather promising, though for recruitment you'll have to compete a bit with the other two local teams. Eventually, you call Carla and Eliza back to you for a quick check up and some lunch.

You'd been in college for about three and a half years, getting through a fair number of genetics courses, but continually flunking out of several others like the English courses due to lack of attendance or not doing homework. You'd still need about a year and a half more of college to get your Bachelors. You hear that the Rockets offer up through Doctorate level courses without needing to take those other pesky courses, thought.

I think our best bet is go out and do some muggings in the nearby routes.

While I support Con Games, we're in enemy territory right now, so we have two options: get our name out there or fly under the radar.

I think the former is smarter. If we put Team Rocket on the map, show that we're a force to be reckoned with, our chances of getting the local bad element on our side instead of the eco-nuts goes up.

For that matter, nothing is precluding us from both putting Rocket's public face out there AND playing around with front organizations and con artistry. But getting the public face out there first will both get us more immediate gains, AND divert attention from our more subversive tactics. If everyone is looking at the guys in black jumpsuits with R's on the front, nobody is looking at Giovanni, upstanding gym leader and all around nice guy.

Basic criminal empire building.

Actually, getting all the beggars and hobos on our side would be a good baseline network. They do always all seem to know each other somehow.
>>
Rather than mugging let's just sneak up on someone and shoot them with the tranq gun and rob them of everything.

We should also take the dart out of them before we leave, lest it be traced back to us.

>Establish the HIN, Hobo Information Network

You decide that maybe you ought to ingratiate yourself to the poorer elements of your community. After all, they do see and hear a lot and people do their best to ignore them. Yes, this seems like an excellent plan. Carla gets dressed again, and you wrap her sword up carefully so that she can carry it without attracting too much undue attention. You turn your attention to Eliza, and try to think of something when she grabs a deep green rain coat from your closet, and fills it up with her gases. "So, you can be solid." You mutter. She merely gives you another wide grin. "Right, then let's see. Wear this, this and...hm...these!" You tell her, handing her boots, stockings and elbow length gloves. She puts them on, covering up everything but her face that isn't in the rain coat. With that she pulls the hood of the rain coat up, and you can barely tell if the shadows in there are from the hood or her gas. "Now onward, to help the hobos!" You tell them. With that you leave the base, and begin wandering around town, smiling and greeting various beggars and giving them a little bit. You don't think this will work in a single day, but when you're on your way back to the base a man you passed earlier that you donated to gives you small smile.

>Ambush someone
>-If you spot a wild pokemon, nab it too

Later that night you and your companions sit out on Route 121, far enough from the Safari Zone and Lilycove to avoid being spotted by anyone in either location. You're crouched down in some bushes with Carla next to you on high alert for any sign of wild Pokemon or travelers. Eliza is hovering in a tree across the path, her red eyes peering out of the shadows. You spend a few uncomfortable hours sitting there and are beginning to contemplate going home when Carla suddenly stiffens. "Something is coming. Something strange smelling." She whispers, glaring in the direction of the Safari Zone. Suddenly a small form darts from the shadows and lands on the ground on the trail. A small purple bat thing with a stinger tail scrounges around slightly on the ground. A Gligar, probably escaped from the Safari Zone! Today is your lucky day!

[]Have Eliza and Carla double team it and then Tranq it!
[]Send either Carla or Eliza after it and then Tranq it!

>>
>>22405603
No fuck that it's a gligar. They will understand if you miss.
>>
>>22405618
We could probably send Eliza after it if she can go intangible. She holds it, and it gets tranq-ed.
>>
>Sic Eliza on it, tranq it. She can go intangible, right?

You make a motion towards the Gligar with your hand and Eliza's grin widens as she fades slightly from your vision and suddenly resolidifies behind the Gligar. "Boo!" She calls, startling the creature into jumping awkwardly, landing upside down when it catches its wing on the ground. You take steady aim at it as Eliza keeps it pinned down, her eyes glowing a sinister red. The Gligar looks like its getting slower but occasionally stops and shakes itself. After a moment, you take a quick shot with the gun, missing horrible. The Gligar stops paying attention to Eliza and glares at you in the bushes. You curse silently to yourself, trying to load another shot into the gun as Carla draws her sword with a growl stepping between you and the Gligar as Eliza pounces on it from behind, her mouth opening wide and an impossibly large tongue coming out and licking the Gligar along its back before it can scramble away. The Gligar freezes, twitching only slightly. You take this moment while its not moving to aim more carefully. This time you hit it solidly and it lets out a slight shreik. Eliza is suddenly in its face, her eyes glowing again, and the Gligar's twitching dies down and soon it is fast asleep. You let out a sigh of relief, and toss a pokeball at it. "Thank you, Eliza, Carla." You tell them. You're starting to feel tired, but this time no one is injured.

try and rustle up another pokemon. It's not like anyone can do anything about a mugging from two humanoid pokemon, especially since both of ours can get within grabbing distance without looking raising suspicion. If we can get at least one more pokemon it won't seem to bad to ask for one more (non-experimental). And we don't need a gligar, it doesn't add any utility we don't get from Eliza.

Catch another pokemon, preferably something that isn't native to Johto/Kanto (Rocket seems to value those more)
Try and see if you can maybe trade it for that experimental Ditto that was mentioned earlier
>>
>>22405959
I meant continue waiting for whatever comes first, wild or trainer. And we'll wan to tranq a human (from behind and close) once the girl's have a hold of them.

Although we will have to worry about the repercussions of highway robbery, it would definitely be reported, what are we going to do once people (and the police) are on alert? Start wandering the region to lose heat?
>>
>Push on

You just need to make hay while the sun shines! Or something like that. But you're not quitting yet, a little tiredness can't get you down! You and your companions return to your positions, and wait again. You wait, excited to see what else might come out tonight. Maybe a trainer with some super rare pokemon? After a few hours of waiting Carla nudges you slightly. "Human, trainer, approaching." She says. Finally! The sun is about to rise! Now, how to go about this.

Should you
[]Have Carlas hold him at sword point while you loot him?
[]Hit him with a tranq shot, then loot him

You motion for Eliza to make her move and she does, sneaking up behind the trainer in the waning shadows. He doesn't even know anything is wrong until the last minute when Eliza drags her tongue up his back. He manages to whirl around but gets caught up in her glowing red eyes. For a while he stands there before suddenly collapsing. You and Carla approach slowly in case he wakes up. "Can I eat it?" Eliza asks, pointing at the young man as you take his pokeballs and his money. He also has a few Oran berries and two empty Great Balls on him.

"Eating people is bad!" You tell Eliza, not certain you want a murder on your conscious. Eliza frowns, the first time you've seen her do so.

"Not him, want his dreams. His memories." She says simply. Oh. Well, that sounds like it might be a good idea. Dawn is beginning to break as well, so you probably want to get back to Base and get some sleep soon.
