Background: Your Lord is the founder of this new House. Only a few years old, you yourself can remember when you were just some far-flung cousins of the ruling family of an important House in the Mountains of the Moon. Disaster befell them during the War of the Usurper, and from the ashes of their absolute obliteration your family was raised into nobility proper.

Your House, though young, has gone through turbulent times. The younger brother of the current Lord Dredd led an attempted coup against him in the very early days of the House's founding. The coup failed and the treacherous brother was put to the sword, but it has plauged your family in the years since then.

Lord Dredd would earn some measure of favour in the eyes of King Robert when he distinguished himself at the Battle of Seaguard in the Greyjoy rebellion. This same battle is where he lost his hand and you came to save his life.

Oh yeah, archived thread here.
http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/22638638/

>Background =Great Deed
At the battle of Seaguard, against the Ironborn, you saved the life of Lord Dredd and made sure he didn't lose more than an arm, dragging him to safety as the battle raged around you.

>Goal = Security
You seek steadiness, safety and would be content with peace if it left you resting easy.

>Motivation = Peace
You simply want the unsteadiness of your lands put to an end. Your warring with the Mountain Bandit raids, feuding lords and quarrels between would-be kings has come to make you realise that you would be content to live out the rest of your days in peace.

>Virtue = Courageous
Though all you really want is to spend the rest of your years in peace and never lift that damn axe/blade/mace of yours again, you have never shirked from life-threatening situations when it was demanded of you. Unflinching in the face of mortal danger you stand when others would flee. After all, is not death another sort of peace?

>Vice = Licentious
Peace is what you seek. And with peace comes pretty little maidens with their pretty little eyes and their not-so-little bosoms. The Seven have lost count of the women you have bedded, though you're fairly certain you can't be too far above 20. You have a weakness for the girls, it's true, and don't show a tendency to stick around with one or the other too long.
>>
>>22657936
Good to see you!
>>
>>22657949
Let's see if the fine gentleman come here I don't want to start choosing things without consulting. For the time being I suggest to have an heirloom, because fuck yes valyrian steel weapons.
>>
In the last thread you had agreed on your cohort somewhat (I won't be allowing 7 into Marksmanship straight off the bat, that shit is crazy.)

I'll ask for a 3d6 roll to decide her age (and I'll re-roll anything over Middle Age.

I will wait for others to have their say before confiirming anything, but I'd like an idea on how you think this character is the heir to House Dredd.

Would you prefer that he is the younger brother of Lord Dredd (hence leaving Lord Dredd unmarried and without a son) or that he is the son of Lord Dredd (who is a widower)?
>>
>>22658003
At 6 base max, but I will allow her to get more experience in it (She gains experience at half your rate).
>>
>>22658012

>11 = Adult
Same age as you, you've likely known her your entire life. Given your licentious nature is there a reason you haven't seduced and subsequently spurned her? (and if so do you still want to?)

2d6 to see what her max status could be (House Restricts it to 4 at the most).

HAH!

The max status you can spend her experience up to is 4. She could theoretically be your sister, second-in-line to the mantle of Lord, but I'd have to get confirmation to spend some more Influence on another heir (10 for a daughter).
>>
>>22658101

If she's our Sister, does that mean we've been fucking her or not?
>>

Dredd and company has to make the Seven at one point, sleep with one woman from ever one of the seven kingdoms.
>>
Rolled 5, 2 = 7

>>22658187
We could be a constant failure at our womanising ways?
>>
Also, assuming you aren't actually related, can we get a name for the girl? Is she of common birth? Bastard-born? How were you introduced at childhood (before your House even came into being)?
>>
>>22658216
I like Elise as a name.
>>

>>22658216
Her mother was our milk mother.
>>

fuck forgot to remove dice

Her mother been our milk mother also makes sense since we are the same age so her mother would have been producing milk when we needed it.
>>
Rolled 1, 3 = 4

>>22658216

Either She's our Sister, or something else.

I was going to suggest handmaiden's daughter, but then again we're the same age.

So... I'm not sure whom she should be.
>>
>>22658195
>>22658200
>>22658201
>>22658206
>>22658211

So stick with her being a Liscentious and Chaste? She'd basically be hitting on everyone but either they're not getting the hint or just rejecting her (if she's a lesbian the reason would be self-explanatory for the most part). Not sure if that meshes with her travelling across the narrow sea though.

The alternatives are:
>1
-Magnamonious
-Foolish

>2
-Humble
-Miserly
>>
Rolled 1, 4 = 5

>>22658256
if we lose the licentious and chaste that way then we stay with it then.
That is why she is our wingman, and we're Hers.
What? We can roll to assist on tests like that.
>>
>>22658256
Yeah, take the chaste part as the lesbo-trait.
>>
>>22658265
Shit, that's clever hahaha.

Can lesbian sex break a maidenhead even without penetration? Or are we just treating this as "You're still technically a virgin until you've been with a man" type deal?

>>22658264
Hahaha, I'm sensing this is going to be a lot focused on "intrigue" than I thought.
>>
Rolled 1, 6 = 7

>>22658277

Technically it can break it, though the official word is that "Unless a cock is in you, you're 100% maiden".

Virgin until you've been with a man, of course
>>
Btw I just realized our dood doesn't have a name

Name: Elise Stone(?)
Description: Born in the Vale, likely either Dark hair or Light hair if Andal related.
Met: Not decided. Likely the daughter of one of your family's servants (before they became full-blown nobility).

>Background:
Around your adolescent years, after growing up as children together, you parted ways for a time. You squired/studied under a Lord sworn to (Stannis?) in the Stormlands, while she travelled across the Narrow Sea.
>Where did she go, what happened?

>Goal:
Love.
PLOT

>Motivation:
Love.

>Virtue:
Chaste. Technically, she's never taken a man to her bed.

>Vice:
Licentious. Every bit as flirtatious and unfaithful as you are with your consorts, you two have always worked in unison with your conquests. You have a times made a competition out of it, but you both keep losing track.

Age wise I'll say you are only just 18, with your father Lord Dredd nearing his 40s.

You most likely wouldn't have squired for him yourself (that would be reserved a very favoured nobleson) but you could very well have squired for someone directly in his service, and may have been present at the Storm's End siege.

You grew up together as children before parting ways for a time. >>
>>22658645
As >>22658654. Basically, one of the benefits you chose for your character Rollan Dredd was that he has a cohort.

Basically he gets a trusted confidante who is loyal to him and assists him in combat and intrigue when they are together.
>>
>>22658670
>combat and intrigue
Is that what they're calling it these days?
>>
>>22658580
She traveled to one of the free cities, out of wanderlust or loss of her best friend/obvious only man she ever loved when he left Dredd lands to squire in the stormlands.

She ended up working in one of the free cities, her archery skill earning her fame and work, where she lazed about in her modest home surrounded by dusky skinned women
She did not like the idea of everyone turning on the Targys, staying in her home with a bitter look on her face, both angry at the Dredd's for joining with Robert, and ashamed at herself for not leaving to join you.
Years passed until she found a safe enough voyage aboard a boat sending young children to her dear Westeros, believing herself safe from assault (She was a woman fair, a fighter still but knows how long a voyage would take.) She returned expecting the young Dredd to have changed from war, and conquest, and fire, but it wasnt the case.

He hugged his old friend, welcomed her home, and told her the tales he had to share of Dragonstone. She felt more ashamed at herself, having feasted on honeyed duck and wine drank from women's navels, while he was starving in a besieged castle.

She did not let him see the tears, the comfort and silence of her old room being the only witness to it.

How's that?
>>
>>22658645

>>
>>22658676
Have you even watched Game of Thrones?

Those combats are so vigorous, and the intrigues are HUGE!
>>
>>22658679
It was Storms End that got seiged not Dragonstone.

Given our age we're more likely to have squired in the Greyjoy rebellion than Roberts Rebellion anyway
>>
>>22658679
It works. My only qualm is that she doesn't really have a reason to care about the Targaryens or Robert one way or the other.
>>
>>22658708
Oh, my mistake, I've gotten Stannis' beseiged castle wrong this whole time. Storm's end.
>>
>>22658717
Does care, but its more the whole, Turning on your King bit.
She grew up around LAW, it seeps into your veins.

The Dredd's made their judgement call that time, was it follow the LAW, Your King, and his mad orders? Or, Turn on him.
>>
>>22658708
You're considered a man grown at 14. You'd start squiring at around 10-13. And given that your family was common at the time they'd be sending you off earlier than most.
>>
>>22658717
After our father distinguishes himself in Roberts rebellion he becomes a lord.
We later squire for one of the Baratheon family knights during the Greyjoy Rebellion.

She is not allowed to because she is female. Since she is bored at home she decides to leave and does some guard work for some merchants working for our mutual acquintance Petyr Baelish.
>>
>>22658735
Were we common or just really, really minor nobility?

The latter seems more likely
>>
>>22658679
Hmmm. Not very Game of Thrones-ish.

Are we going to consider that as per the Ice and Fire setting a female warrior is not a very acceptable thing, and that a female warrior travelling about seeking employment in a man's field would not do very well at all/get raped to teach her a lesson?
>>
>>22658733
She didn't grow up around LAW. Really, apart from the name Dredd there is NOTHING to indicate that House Dredd are sticklers for justice.
There was a lot of joking and discussion, but nothing decided upon.

On top of that, you aren't Lord Dredd but his son. You could go a different way entirely.
>>
>>22658765
Maybe she got raped and that's why she's a lesbo...
>>
>>22658765
thats why i warned against working in a free company.
>>22658762
Dredd's family was minor nobility, the entire extending family barring Dredd and Son were put to the sword.
>>
>>22658743
1. Your father became a lord after the previous rulers suffered a catastrophe during Robert's Rebellion. Your family was the only surviving kin of any sort. That was rolled for last thread.

2. Elise Stone is a commoner. Why would she grieve one way or the other beyond having a rough opinion like the other smallfolk?

>>22658765
Ho yeah. In Esteros it's not too unusual. But in Westeros that'll make her a big target.
>>
>>22658793

Alyse. In Westeros, it's spelled Alyse.
>>
>>22659099
I like this idea. Maybe one night she sneaks into the Ladies bed while drunk and cops a feel.
>>
She could be a woman of the Mountain Clans. The Black Ears, at least, respect women enough to have one as chieftain. Either she's a ward of some kind, there as part of an alliance or peace treaty with a nearby clan, or she was taken prisoner as a child or teenager and you just happened to become friends with her
>>
>>22659158
>>22659099

I like both of these, though the Black Ears idea is a bit hard to justify...
>>
>>22659045
>>22659050
>>22659053
>>22659063

Schemer or schemer/rouge seems to be the most popular. Unless some votes have switched to this >>22659099?

That would probably be closer to Fighter/Rouge.
>>
Alyse Stone- Our friend from childhood. We had the same milk-mother, as our real mother died in childbirth. When we began our education we absolutely demanded that Alyse be educated as well. When we went to Squire under Stannis, Alyse was sent across the narrow sea. She cut her hair, bound her breasts and pretended to be a man. She learned the subtle arts of stealth and death and became a skilled rogue and combatant.
>>
>>22659099
This is good.

Though a harem guard would have made for so many good stories...
>>
>>22659168
Not really if you go with the prisoner thing. Our father or one of his retainers attacked and dispersed her camp. She was taken as a servant, a role which did not suit her well. She met Rentis when they were both trying to seduce the same housemaid, and soon became close friends.
>>
>>22659158
>>22659247
A. Andals kill Mountain Clansmen. They're scumtime.

B. A hostage ward would not be trusted with your heir, even if he says they're friends.

C. Mountain Clansmen are scumtime and Andals kill them.

D. Kill the Mountain Clans now.
>>
>>22659247
Slave trade, dude? Dark.
>>
>>22659247
>Friends through mutual cockblocking
Okay, that's pretty good.

>>22659133
>>22659099
But this also works really well... And a Mountain Clan heritage will have a lot of drawbacks amongst the Vale nobility.

>>22659208
Probably wouldn't need to be much need to pretend to be a man till she got back to Westeros. Bravos and the Free Cities tend to be more liberal (or at least uncaring) about that sort of thing.
Did she travel to Bravos (and possibly pick up Water Dancing/Fencing) or somewhere else?
>>
>>22659330
>Friends through mutual cockblocking
>implying there wasn't an awesome threesome that day
>>
With the thing of the guards being only the personal bodyguards of the lord, rather than the general's bodyguard for whoever goes into battle, we might want to reinvest as the DM suggests.

Maybe Trained Infantry and Trained Archers would be good, or Veteran Infantry and Green Archers
>>
>>22659346
She was in the front, we were in the back, and we high-fived over the girl's chest.
>>
>>22659330
We could go with the bravos thingy, I mean is our best bet to get her anywhere close where we want her. Gad this would've been so much easier with a dude.

Also >>22659351
the lord and his heir (which actually is us).
>>
>>22659351
We'll be Lord eventually
>>
>>22659330
Depends what status she takes. Status 2 could represent this, normally the close friend of an heir would be status 3, but being not merely baseborn but a savage means her status is lower than that.

>>22659287
Only in practice. They weren't going out to get slaves, but when they dispersed the clan camp there were children there, and rather than slaughtering them or leaving them to starve they brought them back so they could live among civilised people.
>>
>>22659397
Which, you should note, still leaves you with only 20 capable men, 100 men-of-the-line, and 100 criminals I wouldn't trust to even rout properly.
>>
>>22659427
She got 4, I rolled 2 six for her status roll.
>>
>>22659427
Status 2 would easily represent your childhood friend, regardless of background. She's been away long enough that status 3 is unlikely. And I'm going to jump ahead and say that (unless you make her a relative) status 4 is unavailable.
>>
>>22659442
And if you're interpreting the guards as being cavalry, they're useless in the mountains
>>
>>22659463
You don't just get Status 4, that just points out the max status the character could possibly buy here >>22658482
>>
>>22659491
Ok I get it, I thought you got your status from the roll and couldn't lower-upgrade it.
>>
>>22659475
They are mounted, but being Elite Guards means they can switch pretty easily into any role you choose (bar suddenly becoming sharpshooters).
>>
>>22659514
Hey, Verily, how long will this be going on for this eve?
>>
Let's move this along, people

210 Experience to spend on abilities as per this table. >>22658482

Rank 3 = 10exp
Rank 4 = 40exp
Rank 5 = 70exp
Rank 6 = 100exp

Reducing from Rank 2 to 1 = +50exp
>>
>>22659542
Our experience?
>>
>>22659535
I doubt we'll actually get to playing the damn game if that's what you're asking. And I already had the surrounding area all set up...

Still, it's probably for the best. Gives me time to work on other NPCs and adversaries.
>>
>>22659554
>210 experience to spend
>>
>>22659554
Hers.

Yours is already chosen from last thread. (+ Attractiveness for benefit and +Lascivious (against females) for another drawback)>>22657901
>>
If we finish up this character now we can dive straight into playing with the next thread.
>>
>>22659542

Agility: 4 (40)
Animal handling: 3 (10)
Athletics: 4 (40)
Deception: 3 (10)
Endurance: 3 (10)
Fighting: 4 (40)
Stealth: 4 (40)
Survival: 3 (10)
Thievery: 3 (10)

Probably sucks but hey, no fucks given.
>>
>>22659694
Awesome! You already got the first adventure ready, or will that be tomorrow?
>>
>>22659702
Supporting this
>>
>>22659702
+1
>>
>>22659715
Not tonight or even tomorrow I'm afraid, work and family calls. However, next week I have a lot of free time on my hands. I'll start the thread probably early Monday (4chan time). Or early Tuesday.

>>22659702
>>22659723
Awesome, now you have 80 to spend on specialties. Again as per >>22658482

(If you're going down the Braavosi way mentioned before you'll have to invest in at least Fencing 1B)
>>
>>22659542
Marksmanship 6 (Bows 5D)
Agility 4 (Quickness 1D)
Athletics 3 (Strength 2D)
Awareness 3
Fighting 3
Endurance 3
Stealth 3
Animal Handling 3
Survival 3

Those are my suggestions for abilities and specialties.
Benefits:
Weapon Mastery (Bow of choice. Probably double curved bow for the powerful trait. She'll work her way up to a Dragonbone bow. In fact, Dragonbone Longbow might be best. She can reinvest and change the weapon mastery later.)
Deadly Shot
Then either some other benefit like Improved Weapon Mastery or some flavor benefit. I dunno. Only take Triple Shot and Double Shot once her Marksmanship is 7. Just to point out, Double Shot is absolutely useless. There is no reason for it to exist. You could just take two lesser actions to fire the bow twice, without penalties.

Drawbacks:
Bastard Born (Her last name is Stone. Maybe she's your half-sister. Maybe you don't know. Maybe she knows, and that's why she's never hit on you. Maybe she's just a common girl. Maybe she's the daughter of some other lord. Who knows. Point is, this is a great n' easy benefit to take.)
>>
>>22658101

is it too late to propose her for secret lineage? maybe she's a secret Gardener
>>
>>22659814
I like it

This sounds good enough.
>>
Braavosi Fighter benefits seem great, but they're not that amazing. You get some increased combat defense, and if opponents miss, you can hit them back. That's not that great. Against the truly dangerous opponents, they won't miss. At high ranks, combat defense proves to be worth very little, and combat is much more about doing more damage than your opponent can. The Berserker would be a much better benefit for melee fighting.
Totally sorry if I sound like some kinda weird min-maxing guy, but, you know. Whatever.
>>
>>22659702
>>22659814

Two conflicting choices, both have support.

I guess this is where you vote on whether you want a Braavosi Waterdancer or Bowmaster. And if Bowmaster wins out it'll be assumed that you went to the Fee Cities instead of Braavos.
>>
So were licentious and lascivious?

What keeps us from jumping on every woman we meet?

Captcha:disloyalty nmenol

yeah I guess loyalty has something to do with it
>>
>>22659928
I like the bravosi option even if it's weak sounds awesome.
>>
>>22659928

Bows, let us be the cqc guy and her be our support ranger
>>
>>22659940
Nothing. You flirt with practically everyone you meet.

Also, good point. Alyse's seductive ways aren't reflected here >>22659814
>>22659702
. I think that needs at least persuasion 3.
>>
>>22659975
No, no, the whole point is that she's an eager yet shitty seductress. If she's good at it, that makes her less lovable.
>>
>>22660002
Excellent point, sir.

If there isn't a sudden swing of votes one way or the other I'm going to roll to decide on which set up is accepted.
>>
>>22659814
i support this one. Markswomanship FTW.
>>
>>22660070
Also, I'm out for the night, but I'll be on the keen watch for when this starts properly.

capcha: cystic imucipa
>>
>>22660090
Look forward to seeing you there, Ser.
>>
When will we be finally get to the roleplaying
>>
>>22659095

>She could could cut her hair and pretend to be man.

I imagine her acting all proper and lady like while she's on Westeros, maybe with a bit of exotic free-cities flair. Nobody suspects that she kicks ass and takes bitches in the night. Like a young Alice from Lost Girls
>>
>>22660176

the point of asoiafrp is making your house and characters, actually playing is merely a bonus

Short Answer: Next thread
Long Answer: A couple of days. Probably early Mon/Tue 4chan Time.

Also, I just noticed that Hexep switched his vote. That puts Markswoman at 3(4?) and Braavosi at 2. You can decide on the last benefit to choose (preferably something flavourable) while I sleep.

Looks like you have your sharpshooter elegan/tg/entlemen. With that I'm calling it a night, everything will be ready to go for the next thread Mon/Tues 4chan time.

Here's the thread archive.

And shit, it should be Ronnel Dredd not Rollan Dredd. Sorry about the fuck up.

> low LAW score
Well that's just not right...
>>
>>22660408
We'll set about fixing that soon.
