History: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags=Yachett

When we last left our brave bird, Yachett was confronted with a new kind of creature just as he turned around from what was essentially a dead end.

But what IS this thing clinging to the ceiling? That's what we're about to find out.
>>
Whatever it is, I've got an inkling we're going to try to seduce it.

Hmmm. Low mental, low magic, so-so physical considering how weak all the creatures around here are.

Doesn't seem like too much of a threat, although it might deal some damage. I wonder if it's friendly?

You know the drill.

It's tiiiime to ruuuumble!

The odds are not in are favor. Or are they?

In this battle we're going to have to learn more about defensive powers and area of effect attacks.

As a general rule:

Using MANY elements at the same time tends to cover a WIDER area but do LESS damage.

Using LESS elements covers a SMALLER area but does MORE damage.

Also:

Casting spells on yourself (or an ally) will cast BENEFICIAL spells instead of DETRIMENTAL ones.

We can use this to reduce the damage of many small attacks, and to deal out damage to many creatures with no defense.
>>
>>22682296
Use Earth on self for a high defense increase (stoneskin?)
>>
>>22682296

Radiance + Sparkle. If we cast it on us, we'll be blinding them and they'll most likely miss us.

Aerial and Earth- they're our strongest.

Use Aerial to propel the Earth forward in the shape of spikes.

We already have a defense up; so let's wait before we put up another, since we're not taking any real damage.

There are plenty of good suggestions, though, so we'll just pick the first one and try it.

>>22682585

Earth and Radiant have created a cosmic shower!

Of course, it's not that impressive since we only have one in radiant. It deals quite a bit of damage though. High earth power, plus a weakness to radiance, means 2 damage to each of them. (Except the sweep in the back)

Unfortunately since we have such low radiant, we can't use it very often, so we'll have to use something else.

Sparkle and air seems to be pretty popular. A wave of thunder against our enemies!

It works fairly well for 1 and a half damage. But it seems like they aren't particularly weak to either element. Either that or those elements aren't strong enough yet.
>>
>>22682893
They don't have language, so I don't think that's possible.

>>22682908

>>
>>22682924
Those guys in the front aren't attacking us at all. Is it because of the earthskin spell?
Anyway, yeah - let's see what Air + Radiant does next. Or Doom + Radiant?

Will using Air on ourselves give us Haste?

Also, I agree with doom + radiant. Let's induce some debilitating super effective status on them.

>>22683147

The radiance of the shield absorbs most of the damage from enemy attacks. Additionally, the life-gain from the shield causes us to regain what we lose each turn! Neutralization!

Life and doom creates a hex that pierces enemy stamina; making them more likely to be stunned!

Since that stopped the enemy from attacking this turn, we get to regain one health!

Unfortunately, the maximum elements you can combine is defaulted to 2; plus your wisdom. Yachett would need to be a wise old bird to combine all of the elements he can use.

Instead, let's try Earth, Air, and Doom. That should be fairly...

Effective!?!

Yachett somehow hit all of his targets for three damage at the same time, AND stunned! But how? No offense to him, but, his skill levels aren't quite that high.

Let's see exactly what happened...
>>
>>22683941
The problem is that all the mental skills seem incredibly useful. We really need language and diplomacy to expand our options in dealing with other creatures, and of course we desperately need intellect to unlock more adorable Baby Yachett memories.

Now what's this little skill bar?

You probably forgot all about it. It's Fervor.

If you want, you can think of it kind of like a 'Critical Hit'.

The chance for spells, abilities, or what have you having extra effects is based on a couple of different things. But one of the most important ones if Fervor.

I guess it took a hundred panels of this story for us to even see it because Yachett only has one point in it.

I'd like to point out that using these skill points to build magic might be dumb, since we can get tomes for that but other types of skill points seem harder to come by.

Intellect,
Determination

Nah, I think we should either stop at 5 and/or when we get out of the tunnels. Then we move on to learning(and seducing) another primal force based on our new location
>>
>>22686100
True, but we don't know how these will be spread out from now on. Maybe the early tomes were just to let us have some magical fun from the start.
>>
>>22686190
Yes but we've also gained magic skills from quite a few other things(battles, seducing the earth, etc.)

We really need to focus on mental skills. Intellect is important for memories and understanding stuff, Wisdom for spells, Learning is self-explanatory, Fervor for crits, Language so we can actually read the signs and maps and we haven't even seen what Piety can do.

So many useful mental skills, so few skill points.

I say wisdom, learning, and seduce

The final winners are:

1st place: Seduction!
2nd place: Intellect!
3rd place: Learning!

And due to overwhelming support, next thread, categories of skills will be split off into social, mental, physical and magic.

But there's one more thing for tonight...

Another piece of Yachett's MEMORY has appeared.

But, what is he remembering?

We'll have to find out next time!
>>
>>22686360
Aww, it's Papa Yachett!
>>
Thank you, OP. This is excellent.
>>
>>22686373
Or... or maybe it's Yachett from the future! Oh god.
>>
>>22686373

Are you so sure?

Could just as easily be Yatchett brutally murdering some random kid.

Or, looking at his eyes, something MASSIVE is happening to their right.
>>
>>22686360
As always, awesome job OP. Yatchett is the best. See you next time. Which I hope is soon.

Please be soon, I miss our feathery sex god already
