After a hard-fought battle, you managed to fell a terrible draconic beast. Although nowhere near as powerful as a true grown Dragon, it was still a difficult battle that almost cost the life of one of your fellow adventurers. By driving him blind, and confusing him with illusory sounds, you managed to bleed him to death.

Not long after, you travelled back to your wounded comrade Velkins, and carried his injured body towards the chamber where you had fought the beast. On the way, however, you were stopped by a mysterious silver-clad woman.

Extending a hand in greeting, the eerie woman had directed her soft but collected voice. "I welcome thee to Darasvern, Dragonslayers." Those were the words she spoke to you an instant ago.

How do you respond to this situation?

>pic related for woman. Should've posted as OP, but oh well.
>>
>>22773274
I know that technically the protagonist is called Miles Runember, but I always read it as Miles Runemember.

So my vote is for smiling, kissing her hand, and remarking, "I hope this is going to be a warm welcome."
>>
>>22773274
Do we know of a town called Darasvern?

"Thank you for your welcome, m'lady, but we really need to have a healer examine our friend here. Can you lead us to one?"
>>
>>22773393
I don't think that's smart, we better ask her to identify herself and keep ourselves in an advantageous position in case she wants to pull something fancy. My question remains op, do we have the option to detect if she's doing anything magical or supress magic around us?
>>
>>22773393
Despite the jarring situation, the soothing presence emerging from the womankeeps you composed enough that you don't immediately attack her with a myriad of questions. Instead, you smile at her, take her oustretched hand, and give it a kiss, in proper form. "I hope such welcome will be warm."

The woman's smile remains, but you can tell it has quirked slightly in interest. "I will do my best, if that is thine desire." Releasing her hand from your hold, she steps closer to your group.

Velkins' eyes widen as the woman rests a hand over his forehead. "What are you-!? ..." He suddenly stops his yell, staring in fixation at the hand on his head, in bemusement.

The elegantly-robed woman closes her eyes in wonder. "Thou hast caught ill, I see. Allow me to cool thine body a little, it is dangerous for thee to move around in this state." The woman's hand glows blue for a second, and moments after Velkins looks much better- the flush on his cheeks has receded from the burning red, adopting a healthier tone.

"...Amazing, with just a wave of the hand...!" Elloy gasps out. "Who might you be, fair woman of the caves?" You bite back a chuckle at Elloy's name-calling when the woman seems to back away to frown at the swordsman.

"I am Ingeir the Forgotten, but nowadays I go by the name of the Silver Priestess." She then addresses your group as a whole. "I have come to thee to guide you out of the chambers, but I would also like thee to listen to a request of mine."

What do you say?
>>
>>22773544
Darasvern is not a town- It is a continent. Darasvern is the continent where Dragons hail from, and used to be ruled by both Metallics and Chromatics. But one of the Chromatics obtained his patron Goddess Tiamat's power, and defeated the Metallic leaders. The continent is now ruled by Chromatics and mostly isolated from outside.

>>22773548
She definitely has a magical presence, but the only thing you can recognize affecting you is a calming effect- You don't feel as if your thoughts are duller in any way.
>>
>>22773778
"That is an acceptable trade. What is your request?"
>>
>>22773778
"First your request, later our answer." Also can we sense something wrong with Velkins besides his recovery? I'm sorry about beind this paranoid but I don't trust this at all.
>>
>>22773967
She's probably a metallic dragon looking to manipulate us. I'm betting silver.
>>
>>22774004
I'm not betting on anything particular, but she's being WAY too nice on strangers.
>>
>>22774024
There's also the question of what she's doing down here in a dragon's lair.
>>
>>22774074
Obviously.
>>
>>22774024
She's just been taken in by our manly charm.

>>22773967
This is fine, but could be smoother. Also, it helps to be underestimated. Try,

"Are you in need of my personal services, or is this something for the three of us?"
>>
>>22774176
Good enough, as long as we don't try to courtship an obvious evil-schemer I'm coo'
>>
>>22773836
>>22773967
"...Alright. But we will listen to your request before we commit ourselves to anything related to it." You aren't stupid, after all. First you fall into a large pitfall that was completely unnatural, then you end up fighting a dragon, and now her. You hope they aren't all related, or this woman might actually be more dangerous than anything you could call yourself ready to face...

"...Very well, I would expect nothing less. However, thou should listen to my request in a more comfortable abode than this, no? Come, I shall lead you out of this graveyard." As the woman turns towards the chamber, she beckons you to follow. Before you do so, you check on Velkins. He says he's fine, her touch didn't do anything but cool him down so he could speak more clearly.

You follow her into the chamber. With her aid, you manage to find another exit to the chamber lying on the opposite side, although having to move a few corpses to get through without stepping on faces. You notice that the woman pays her surroundings no mind, stepping over both blood and dust without so much as a glance. Her clothes probably possess a cleaning enchantment like yours.

As the woman leads you deeper inside, you quickly realize what she meant at the start of your conversation. The tunnel you travelled had several forks, twists and turns that would've probably made you walk in circles several times. It made you wonder if this was not the exit, but actually an entrance maze to these caves...

Finnaly, Ingeir speaks up. "We are here." You follow her gaze, and see a man-sized opening on the brack wall, leading into an area that probably wasn't part of the original design of the caves.

When she spots your inquisitive stare, she explains. "The original exit of these caves would lead thee only into thine doom. The sovereigns of this land do not take kindly to outsiders, and likely wouldst thou have been executed."

(cont'd.)
>>
>>22774318
The great thing about sleeping with evil chicks is that you're totally justified in not calling them later. It also sets you up for cutting remarks in any final showdown.
>>
>>22774387
"...So, this is really the dark continent after all..." Elloy frowned. "The promise of adventure is not so charming if there is no one to welcome your deeds and present rewards..."

"Pray, come." The woman starts walking down the path, but you pause. How do you know this woman is telling the truth? Sure, it's true that the continent is ruled by fearsome Dragons, but there is no reason why you would be executed, is there? Furthermore, you still had doubts about this woman.

Still, Velkins is in a bad condition, and you need help for him as soon as possible. Furthermore, the silver priestess as she so call herself has proven to be able to manage his situation. You could trust her based on that...

...But will you?
>>
>>22774401
We have few options; follow her in.
>>
Well we have to follow, but we're still gonna keep a safe distance from her. I mean it's either be lost or keep following her and Velkings it's fucked up badly.
>>
>>22774401
Follow her, of course. (Not out of trust, but considering the lack of an alternative.) And no, a safe distance is folly. Walk beside her and act like we're more interested in her than the surroundings.

"Tell me, Priestess, are you here on your on behalf, or should I be composing my thanks to your superior?"
>>
>>22774459
Just to be clear - we should be close to her because if she was going to kill us personally, she'd have done so already. She might be leading us into an ambush, in which case, I'd rather have her in reach for use as a shield/hostage.

Plus it can be explained away as trying to get into her pants.
>>
>>22774545
"We're gonna fuck her, but just so we're clear to have her in case of a hostage situation"

"Okay no, we're having a wedding just so SHE doesn't realize that we don't trust her guys"
>>
>>22774651
Nothing wrong with "going native". If you have an issue with the tactical questions, by all means - explain. But I think we can pursue dual purposes here.

You ultimately decide to follow the woman. As she leads you down the small tunnel of stone, you move to walk besides her as Elloy supports Velkins. "Tell me, Priestess, are you here on your on behalf, or should I be composing my thanks to your superior?"

"My actions are done all of mine own volition." She smiles at you. "Fear not, Dragonslayer. I mean thee no ill will." You freeze. Is she... No, it's clear that you are suspicious of her, she doesn't need to be able to read your mind for that to be evident.

You try to ask more about her, but she only answers vaguely, providing little on the matter. Why is she acting so guarded...? You reason it might have to do with the very same fact that she is hiding underground.

Finally, she leads you through the end of the tunnel, towards a broad ledge lit by torches. You step out into the open before her-

"Hiss!" And freeze immediately when threatening voices are directed towards you. As the voices start to speak in a language which you do not understand, but recognize as draconic, your hand immediately goes to your sword. Reacting at the same time, a figure exits from the shadows and points a short spear at your chest.

You look down at the creature, biting back a gasp of surprise. The small goblinoid (only a few inches above 3 feet) has a lizard-like aspect, and its wide eyes stare at you with open hostility- You recognize its tone as accusing, and realize it must be asking you something. Looking at the left, you spot another similar creature, although this one isn't holding a weapon, but is instead standing besides what looks like a mine cart.
>>
>>22774977
Seeing that you are proving uncooperative, the creature you now remember is called a kobold starts to step forwards- but freezes immediately, looking behind you. You turn around, and watch as the woman who led you down here steps out. The kobold immediately puts down his spear, bowing deeply at the woman as it hurriedly speaks in draconic. Even with what little knowledge you have, you clearly recognize the submissive tone and the words of worship.

As the woman- Who you are now relatively sure of what she is- beckons the kobold to rise, and then speaks to you. "I apologize for his behavior- He was merely inquiring on mine safety. Come- We shall ride the cart to a place where I can tend to thine comrade's wounds."

At that moment, Elloy and Velkins step inside the ledge as well, and immediately stare that the two new additions to your group.

Do you tell the woman anything, or quietly come along?
>>
>>22774991
she speaks to you*
>>
>>22774991
"So I guess you're a dragon then? I wouldn't put it past a dragon to be capable of polymorphing into a human, or well, humanoid shape."
>>
>>22774991
"Metallic, then? I'd heard that some of your kind still hid on this continent."
>>
And it's official, we're fucked. We better take her charity and leave the fuck out asap.
>>
>>22775036
She's suspicious enough. Let's try to lighten the tone.

"Are you sure he isn't jealous?"
>>
>>22775063
If we just skip out, we're making a bad situation worse. Plus the deal is that we do her a favour even to get out - we have no leverage and need to play for goodwill.
>>
>>22775157
Jesus christ this anal rape incoming... I can feel my anus tingling, this is gonna be awful...
>>
>>22775184
Well, nobody is going to come help if we scream, so let's play along and ask nicely for some lube.
>>
>>22775255
It's not like we can teleport or shit like that, our only choice is to enjoy it.
>>
>>22775036
>>22775061
Of course. How could a woman like her manage to stay in her condition with a large monster roaming the tunnels, and even hide from your presence so easily? "...You're a dragon." You find yourself pleasantly surprised that your voice syncs with Velkins, who comes to the same conclusion as yourself.

"...Yes, I belong to the race of dragons." When she looks at you next, you see her pupils take a longer, thinner form, like those of a reptile's. "Doth the truth frighten thee? That thou were aided by a monster after felling another one of the same kin?" She does not sound mocking, instead it bears a melancholic tone.

"...No. But that's because you're not really kindred, are you?" You see her lips draw a faint smile at that retort. "You do like to show your colours, after all."

Elloy glances back and forth between you and the woman, and draws a frown in bemusement. "Wait, Miles. So you're saying this girl is actually a fire-breathing lizard?"

Velkins lets out a pained chuckle.

>>22775124
"Are you sure he isn't jealous?" You gesture to the kobold near you, and immediately feel his piercing glare. You roll your eyes.

The woman actually giggles, though she subdues it quickly. "Thou art wise in thinking so, he very well might."

With the mood lightened, the woman which you now know as a Silver Dragon of unknown age leads you into the mine cart. As you start boarding it, you see more kobolds emerge from another opening leading into the ledge, gazing at the silver-haired woman in wonder. Maybe this is a watchpost of theirs? It makes you wonder how far this dragon's reach extends...

"Is everyone prepared?" You look at Elloy and Velkins, who are resting comfortably on one of the large cart's sides, then nod at the woman. She gets in the cart alongside a kobold (the same one that greeted you, you note with displeasure), and then says something commanding in draconic.

(Cont'd.)
>>
>>22775412
One of the kobolds pulls on a lever next to the cart, and immediately after it rocks into motion, speeding down the railways built on a large underground tunnel.

As the cart rocks to one side and the other, Ingeir begins to speak. "We shall head towards mine keep. It is there where all the tunnels connect. I will tend to thee there," She explains, looking at Velkins. "And hope you listen to mine request. Fear not, I promised thee I would not bear you harm, and I will keep to mine oath."

Is there anything you want to ask her about the Keep she mentions, or something else?
>>
>>22775422
"I've read a little of your kind, though I am no specialist. What happened after the final battle of the war?"
>>
>>22775422
Give her a thoughtful look, then ask mildly, "Do you entertain guests very often?"
>>
>>22775498
Your curiosity gets the better of you, and you ask Ingeir about the war that happened centuries ago. Her face turns glum. "After our forces were defeated by the blighted Irfelsygax... Chaos seized hold over our realms. The Great Wyrms from the chromatic faction slaughtered whatever of our young they could find, and our former vassals turned on us under the threat of genocide, choosing a life of slavery over the death of their children."

Many of my kin, appalled by this betrayal, fled the continent they had once prided themselves in, while others, like I, stood behind in hope that we could one day accomplish something. The only ones who remained loyal to our cause were our kobolds," as she says this, she affectionately pats the head of the kobold besides her, although she avoids the nose for some mysterious reason. "But as you can see, they are too frail to stand a chance against the evil humanoids and the powerful half-breeds that serve the chromatics as thralls."

"After I went into hiding, I helped my subjects build the underground keep, and then commanded them to form a network of tunnels connecting to several places in and out of the continent. This, I did in hope that one day adventurers such as yourselves would come into the continent." ...Wait. She built all this... Waiting for somebody like you to come into the continent? Your mind boggles as you try comprehend what intentions she might have. What can you do that she cannot do herself?

>>22775600
At this, she brightens. "It has been many years since I entertained one, indeed! Perhaps thou couldst tell me of the world outside the continent later? I would be delighted to hear more from the humanoids on that side."
>>
>>22776132
You continue to make small talk with her. Elloy butts in every once in a while to crack a joke, with Velkins making some half-hearted noises at times. Your conversation stops, however, when the darkness of the tunnel gives way to an open area. You move to look, and gasp alongside your comrades.

As the cart descends down railways held aloft by pillars that stretch down into an apparently bottomless abyss, you catch a view of the large building Ingeir refers to as a 'Keep'. The building could pass for a castle, or even a fortress. With towers that link with dozens of different railways, the massive structure is supported in the middle of the chasm whose depth you cannot fathom to guess. The closer you get, the more the size of the structure overwhelms you.

Eventually, you pass through one of the tower's openings, the cart slowing down as the breaks begin to kick in. It rocks to a stop inside, and you step out, supporting Velkins. As a band of kobolds steps in to greet their ruler, she speaks to them in draconic, and in a few minutes they return with a stretcher, on which they rest Velkins.

"I shall return shortly with your friend. In the meantime, there are guest rooms I have prepared for the occasion I would need to entertain some. This little one shall guide you." She gently pushes the kobold forwards, who proudly puffs up his chest and grabs your hand, tugging at you to follow as the woman retreats with Velkins to somewhere within the Keep.

...Shortly after, you are inside an expansive lounge, sitting with Elloy on a piece of wooden furniture. You have no doubt the finely-trimmed cushions must be from Ingeir's hoard, because they are so well-cared for despite being miles underground that it must take the undivided attention of a small group of kobolds to keep them clean.
>>
>>22776136
"So... I don't think she can hear us here, Miles." Elloy looks at you as some Kobolds walk in and set down two plates of food, with clear water (probably from an underground stream) for drinking. You look at the food, and initially grimace as it consists of giant insect meat and boiled moss. It smells relatively well, though. You then look at Elloy as he continues. "What are we going to do?"

What do you tell him?
>>
>>22776144
Well, at first we're going to listen to her request. It's the least we could do after what she did. After that... I'm not sure"
>>
>>22776144
"I'm thinking that it would be best to be cautious here. She called us Dragonslayers earlier, and that seems to imply a certain level of respect, which we really don't deserve. We managed to kill that... thing through luck and a few gold coins. I'd hardly call it a heroic deed. If she's going to ask us to help her against the Chromatics... well, I don't think we'd survive long against a real dragon. I do feel slightly indebted to her, I guess, but that doesn't mean I'm saying yes to whatever she asks of me without thinking it over first."

(Oh, and we should try frying the meat a bit if it isn't to our liking. Some would say that anything tastes better grilled.)
>>
>>22776285
The meal is already cooked. It's just... ew, bugs.
>>
>>22776379
Eat it. We need the energy and the proteins.
>>
>>22776190
>>22776285
"...You're right. That battle... We only won thanks to luck, didn't we?" Elloy laughs bitterly. "To be honest, I felt so afraid during that fight... I've always gotten into trouble before, but nothing scared me more than that thing. I saw Velkins get hit, you know." He sounds dejected about the whole deal, instead of happy he survived in one piece.

You tell him some words of encouragement, and he brightens some, but you feel that his smile doesn't reach his eyes. Changing the subject, you make a reference to the food, and Elloy immediately grabs you in a headlock, attempting to force the grilled beetle into your mouth. Unfortunately, this makes him drop his own plate and spill the moss and insect innards all over his pants.

You laugh at his misfortune, right before he shoves a chunk of that weird moss down your throat.

...

By the time Velkins enters the room, looking no worse for wear and ready to bring the good news, he just stares at the mess made all over the silk cushions and the dirtied and clearly bruised Elloy.

"...Elloy, right?" You nod. Elloy nods. Velkins sighs.

(Cont'd.)
>>
>>22777495
You look at the dragon-polymorphed-human with a business-like face, despite being besides your now showered friend, whose hair still drips with water from the stream. After that incident you could feel the dragon's passive ire over the dirtied cushions, but thankfully it seemed to be largely directed at your friend. Regardless, she had forced you to eat the meal, out of respect for the kobolds.

"Now that sir Velkins is healed, courtesy of Bahamut's favour..." She extends an arm towards the three of you. "...allow me to tell thee of the malady that haunts me, and what it is that I wish to ask."

"Now, the three of thee surely wonder- What doth a dragon ask of a human that it cannot ask of oneselveth?" She bows her head. "The answer thou seeketh is simple indeed... for it is but courage I need."

Elloy, Velkins, and you as well, freeze. You thought of the possibility that she would want you to help against the chromatics, but surely she didn't...

"I would cower before an opponent stronger than I. Yet thou fearlessly charged against that beast, and felled it despite the odds weighed against thee... It is that which I seeketh."

"But... We are powerless against true dragons." Elloy admits dejectedly. You nod wisely. Elloy was confident at times, but even he knows that he won't stand a chance against the pinnacle of mortal existence. Velkins nods in agreement, skeptical about the situation at large.

"...Thou speaketh the truth." Despite these facts, the Silver doesn't not lose her confident stare. "However, what if I told thee there was a way to stand at their height?"

"Then I would call you, Ingeir, a complete liar." Velkins' answer comes sharp and honest, proving his aim is not the only true thing he possesses.

"Understandable. However, there is indeed a way." The woman snaps her fingers, and a large object enters the lounge. Your jaw drops.
>>
>>22777516
"What... is... that?" Elloy gapes at the thing. The item in question is almost the size of a man, a red jewel which glows with an inner, animate fire, as if something lives within it.

"It is a dragonstone, the spoils of Dragonslaying. Hast thou not heard of how the Chromatics, at the end of the war, would 'devour' the Metallic young? 'Tis the reason why such blood was shed." She caresses the jewel, and the fire inside seems to try to grasp her extended hand, hovering towards it. "A dragonstone is the crystallized remnants of the dragon's lifeforce and elemental energy. It forms within the heart at the time of death, but can be extracted through a ritual."

Elloy starts to shake. "What... do other dragons do with this... stone?" Even somebody like him already seems to have figured out the answer.

"...They devour it, and make its power theirs." She looks sad at this, probably remembering the tragedies that befell her comrades. "However, dragons are not the only ones who can devour a dragonstone. If handled adequately... A humanoid can consume it too."

You nervously look at your friend. He is enraptured by this revelation, and from your earlier conversation you're beginning to suspect he is being swayed. Over anything else, Elloy seeks the thrill of adventure... As well as the rewards of danger.

"What are the effects of consuming a Dragonstone?" Velkins asks, surprised that he is raptly paying attention to every single word that comes from the woman's mouth.

"Power unmatched by any lesser mortal. It would heighten your physical abilities, as well as provide you with unique benefits depending on your way of life and state of mind. ...Needless to say, it would also extend your lifespan."
>>
>>22777527
...

"I see." The Silver finished explaining her request. You could either leave the continent through a tunnel that connected to Armadia... Or you could help her with her plans to restore the balance to Darasvern... And in the process, obtain power you could've never imagined obtaining before.

However, the silver priestess also warned you; that if you decided to aid her, you would be unable to escape from the conflict until it was over. ...Not even death would save you from it. In other words, this was likely an adventure that could not be turned back from once it began.

"We should do it." You're not surprised when Elloy voices his opinion. You already knew he had been swayed by the silver's speech. There was nothing for him to lose on the table here. Fighting for righteousness, earning money and power in the process? There was no doubt he would take it.

"...I don't think so. What can we do? We are just three humans, and we're talking about dragons! That woman is insane. I bet she is also senile." Velkins, however, was clearly more down-to-earth and much less optimistic than Elloy himself.

Not soon after, you felt two stares on you, and it was as if the weight of the world was upon you.

What will it be, Dragonslayer? Step into danger... Or leave with a good bedtime story and a handful of gold coins?

Velkins and Elloy stare at you for several agonizing seconds. Time slowly crawls by as you ponder the life you've lived until now, and weigh the adventages and disadvantages of your situation. Finally, you stand up, and both Elloy and Velkins jerk at you, ready to hear your answer.

You do not hesitate any longer. "I... will do it. I'll become your Dragonslayer."

Elloy grins in relief, while Velkins sinks his shoulders in accepted resignation. The Silver Priestess grows a bright smile, looking more pleased than she had been in any of your previous conversations.

Pulling yourselves up, the silver dragon motioned you to follow, and without any doubts left, you followed.

...

The three of you kneel before Ingeir, heads bowed silently. The dragon, still in a humanoid guise, prays before the statue of a massive platinum dragon, holding out an ornamental silver rapier decorated in fine jewelry. "O Lord Bahamut, Light of Metallic Dragons, Breath of Wisdom, Spokesman of Justice, Lord of Righteousness, Vanguard of the Holy, I beg thee, listen to my prayers! To these brave warriors, I bind mine soul! So that they might become the Champions of Good, grant thy divine blessing!"

The statue's white eyes begin to emit a bright platinum radiance, the presence of divine magic starting to surge from every corner of the room. You feel your bones tremble. This scene is something no ordinary mortal should be contemplating, yet your curiosity as a mage makes you unable to stop staring. You behold as the silver rapier in Ingeir's hands becomes clad in resplandescent light.

As from Bahamut's open mouth a platinum mist begins to cover the large chamber, the silver priestess walks up to Elloy, rapier on hand. "Elloy of the Swift Hand, you shalt henceforth be known as Sir Elloy, Light of Bahamut! If thou wouldst retreat, speak now, or hold thy regret to thine grave!" After a pause, she continued. "If thou wouldst go forward, then hereby swear, to defend innocence, protect the helpless, and guide the lost!"

"I, in the name of Bahamut, hereby swear!" Elloy's voice echoes across the chamber. Immediately after, the rapier touches both his shoulders, marking him as knight. The rapier's light spreads to him, who begins to shine the same colour.

Next, Ingeir approaches Velkins. "Velkins of the True Aim, you shalt henceforth be known as Sir Velkins, Justice of Bahamut! If thou wouldst retreat, speak now or hold thy regret to thine grave! ...If thou wouldst go forward, then hereby swear, to right wrongs, to smite the wretched, and to slay the unrepentant!"

"I, in the name of Bahamut, hereby swear!" Two rapier strokes later, and a second person becomes enveloped in holy light.

You hear the clicking of heels getting closer. Lifting your head, you meet the gaze of the silver dragon. She begins to speak. "Miles Runember, Mage of Ruthelia! You shalt henceforth be known as Sir Miles, Wisdom of Bahamut! If thou wouldst retreat, speak now, or hold thy regret to thine grave!" She lifted the rapier, letting it hang over your shoulder. "If thou wouldst go forward, then hereby swear! To spread virtues! To mediate between the conflicting!" After these two, the smile on her face grew, and her eyes shone with an unnatural light. "To revive hope where it has been lost!"

Do you, Miles Runember, in the name of Lord Bahamut of the Metallic Dragons, hereby swear to become the wisdom in the dark continent?

As soon as the words escape your mouth, the world explodes in light. You feel the touch of silver on each of your shoulders, and then a bright glow overtakes your sight, and even your other senses are dulled by the sheer light of the ritual. You feel something, a wispy, empowering essence, flow inside you, invigorating you.

"Rise." As soon as manage to regain your wits, Ingeir's voice booms across the chamber, as the platinum mist begins to fade and Bahamut's eyes lose their light. You stand straight from your kneeling position, feeling as well as you ever could.

Your new warden begins to speak. "Thine souls and mine are now bound. Should you be struck down in battle and die, your lighter souls will be drawn to me, and I will be able to resurrect you with Bahamut's aid. However, this does not make you invincible. Without courage, thou will never overcome the dragons, and if I am struck down thou shalt surely perish."

The three of you nod, understanding of the situation. "From now on, you mustn't turn back. Achieve thine mission, and thou will stand at the height of Great Wyrms that once ruled this continent. Dost thou understand?" You all nod again.

"Finally..." The woman paused, then dropped the rapier. You suddenly found yourselves enveloped in a hug. "Thank thee from the bottom of my heart. With thy help, I am sure this continent can shine in the world once again!"

Elloy laughed, while Velkins merely blushed in embarassment.

Thus started the story of three adventurers, who happened to be in the wrong place at the right time...

>Well done! Three dragonslayers, when I originally aimed for only one. You managed to save both your friend AND Velkins.

Anyways, I'll continue the quest either tomorrow or on Saturday, depending on how my schedule changes. Next part will feature customization and HIGH ADVENTURE!
