>Making the bad decisions you're too much of a pussy to make
>Wizard Curse: Plump Grabbable Ass Quest 16

You are Roger Smith, a young man, turned young woman by way of crazy ass-magic, currently tied up in a personal quest to reclaim control of your life and gender and break the curse of the magical and possessed dress that you are stuck wearing and that will slowly drive you crazy if left alone.

With the help of your accidentally summoned Succubus familiar, a bandit you turned into a cat girl in self-defense, a six-armed Asuran pilgrim, and your retired adventurer parents, you have made it to the Bridge City of Arisca and secured a meeting with two famous Wizards. With any luck, you will be able to convince them to take you as a student and hopefully learn how to untangle the spells and enchantments that torment you and the soul that is still bound to the dress.

Presently, you're asleep.. While you may not yet realize it, some potentially troubling things went down last night. Lucile, the Spirit bound to the dress, used your fatigue to take control of your body while you slept. Fortunately, she only used her considerable magical talents to earn you some money, in an effort to help ease your quest to free the both of you, while under disguise . Unfortunately, she did this by offering cosmetic transformation magic to prostitutes and street walkers in the red light district of Arisca and by dancing for coins.

>How this works
I type up the story, guided along by the suggestions and choices that people suggest. I can't possibly implement every idea, but I'll try to work in a lot of them alongside doing my usual thing. So, if you've got any ideas, or things you'd like to see, do post them. It helps me to write faster and makes things more interesting.

Also, since it matters, if you want to suggest things for Roger to do, then do so in plain text. If you want to suggest things as Lucile and the Dress, the proverbial devil on Roger's shoulder, you can do so in spoiler text. ([*spoiler]words here[*/spoiler] minus the asterisks)

I'll also use dice rolls whenever I feel like it to shape some decisions. Instead of just giving it to the highest roll, since that's stupid, I give you a target number, and you have a certain number of posts to meet or beat that number on 3d6. For instance, if I were to tell you to hit 12 or better in 4 rolls, if any of the first 4 dice rolls following that prompt roll 12 or higher, then you succeed. Otherwise, you fail.

Rolling dice does not give you narrative control or direct influence over what happens next any more than any other post. Rolling can just as easily get the opposite of what you want.

You awake of your own volition and find yourself feeling great. You feel rested and relaxed in a way that you haven't been in several days. Your newfound collection of responsibilities, promises, and deadlines has been so taxing on you, that you haven't been able to take the time to really rest.

You sit yourself up in bed and yawn deeply, taking in the cool morning air. Even feeling as rested as you do, something still weighs on your mind. It's not the meeting, you know that's still happening and you've probably got a few hours to waste before going to that. It's something else.. It's tickling the back of your mind.

It might have been your dream. It felt so important.. You were running from something and panicking, you think. The faintest wisp of that dream is still there, if only you could just grab onto it. This feeling is always frustrating, as you're sure everyone would agree.

You try and lock down the details in your mind, attempting to rewind your thoughts back to when you were dreaming again. Red.. Fleeing.. Panic.. Fear… But why?

(Fat lot of good that did, huh?)

And... There it goes. Remembering dreams is always so hard. No matter how vivid or realistic they may seem, they just slip through your proverbial fingers. All you're really left with is the fleeting impressions that you can't even recall once you start to move out of bed. You've got places to go and things to do today and you can't just laze around wondering why the color red is suddenly so important in your mind.

You start your morning by heading to the bathroom and washing up. You take some time to preen your new haircut and make sure it sits right on your head, running your fingers through your short locks and smoothing them with your hands. You add yet another note to your mental list to procure a brush at some point.

With a brief bit of focus, the Dress shifts back into the young wizardess's outfit you ended up with. For good measure, you cast a cleansing spell on yourself, creating a rush of ice-cold air that seems to permeate your skin. No wonder Danny hates it so much...

As a final touch, you reach out with a ghost hand and grab your hat, carefully adjusting it so it sits on your head just right.

You are heading towards your bed to nudge Millia when you notice something out of place. Sitting beside your journal is a large sack. You peek at it curiously, discovering that it is a sack full of coins... A lot of coins!

You pluck up the bit of paper next to it and read aloud. " "To the lovely R. Dorothy. Best of luck. --Donated by the citizens of Arisca...."

Freak out because someone entered our room while we were asleep, and we didn't even know.

Next to a succubus who may or may not have been showing her horns.
>>
>>22791358
Pretty much this.
Who knows what they might have done to us after they hit us with a sleep spell.
>>
>>22791283
How did they get in here?
I highly doubt citizens of Arisca will just donate to us.
Can the dress sense while we are asleep? Ask Lucile did she see them.

They could have even dressed us up in red lingerie!

Oh god, it wasn't a dream!

Yell I'M RICH as loud as possible.

No need to freak out. Maybe Milia brought it with her when we were sleeping.
Count the money I guess.
>>
>>22791690
Right, so ask, and when she says no, THEN freak out.
>>
>>22791283

Wake Millia up with a hard slap on the ass and ask her if she knows anything about this. If she doesn't, ask her if she had her horns and tail showing last night.

"MILLIA!" You hurry over to the bed and shake her by the shoulder. She rolls over and turns her back to, grumbling sleepily. You raise your hand high and bring it down, giving her ass a mighty slap "Millia, wake up!" She stirs slowly, fluttering her eyes at you curiously. As soon as you can tell she's looking your way, despite the powerful slap. You hold the note out for her to read. "Dorothy... Best of luck... Citizens..? What is this?" she asks slowly, trying not to fall asleep again.

"You don't know?! Someone came into our room and left this big sack of money with this note!" you tell her with a tone of urgency and panic. "What if they saw you without your disguise? Or what if they did something to us? Did you see anyone? Did something happen last night?"

Millia sits up and takes the note from you, examining it closely, then leaning over to the bedside table to take a look at the coins. Her eyes widen a little and she takes a moment to heft the sack, feeling its weight in her hand. "No one said anything about donating to you.." she pushes her hair back over her ear, still completely nude. You feel your stomach drop as a intense feeling of dread fills you. That wasn't the answer you were expecting.

She hadn't dropped her disguise, at least not entirely. You can see her tail, which looks unusual with the pale skin tone she wears as a human, and her ears have taken up a slight point. The more she wakes, though, the quicker these little details vanish.

"I'd pin this on Danny, but she wasn't out of anyone's sight long enough to pilfer this many coins. She's broken in here before, though.." Her clothing suddenly reappears around her, "This is a mystery.. I think it would be foolish not to keep it, but it is addressed to you, so it's your choice to make. For what it's worth, I don't think anyone did anything to you. I'd have known, but this is strange."
>>
>>22791772
As Dorothy, we need to calm down. We'll deal with this intrusion, but it'll have to wait. We need to make sure that we're prepared for the interviews with the wizards today.
That takes precedence over everything.
Clean up the room, take the money, and go downstairs for breakfast.
>>
>>22791772

Didn't we learn some kind of True Seeing spell the other day? Do that to examine the room.

We'll make a point of asking Dany about this later. And slap her butt too, if possible.

At some point in the next day or two, we should give Millia an illusory tail where people can see. That way, if anyone saw her tail last night, they'll assume we were just screwing around with our magic.
>>
Keep the money, of course. Count ever coin.

And then use it. Spend it all!
>>
>>22791772
How do you know you would have known if somebody did something? It could have been a wizard! Magic, Millia!

It could even have been a perverted wizard like Lucile! Or maybe it's the fae somehow!
>>
>>22791772
This is really suspicious. Count the coin but do not spend. It does say donation, but we don't know the source of the money. Maybe it's stolen and people may ask it back. I'm pretty sure Roger is used to work and he knows money don't just appear out the fucking nowhere
>>
>>22791908

>Lucille

Let's ask if she has any ideas about what happened last night. She probably needs our eyes to see, but she might have some sort of magical detection thingy.

Hopefully she'll be in one of her saner moods and not turn us into a lamia just for asking.
>>
>>22791999
It's too soon to ask for Lucile help. We used only ask for her help if we are trying to cast a spell or something. But... we can ask if Milia can teach us some divination spell that allows us to see who was the last person who touched the bag. And if Milia doesn't know we can ask Lucile

You carefully move around the small inn room making sure everything is where it should be. No one took any pages out of your journal. No one moved anything around in your pack. Your halberd is still leaning against the wall. Nothing about your body really seems out of place.. You don't think you were tired enough to sleep through anything as terrible as that. Not with Millia right next to you.

Still, you take a moment to cast the Arcane sight spell and begin to examine the room, on the off chance that you might locate someone hiding invisibly, or some stray trace of magic lingering on the coins, which you spill across the table and spread around to carefully examine them one at a time, rather than as a pile. Nothing catches your eye, not that you'd know what to look for.

With your available options exhausted, all you can really do is count the coins, put them back in the sack they came from, and hope that someone else might know something. Perhaps one of the bartenders might have overheard something or maybe your parents know what this is all about. Maybe it wasn't actually meant for you and it someone is looking for it?

When you finish counting, you realize that there is more money here than you would have made working for a month, back at Brogart's store. Much more.. This does solve your money woes, but this donation comes with so many worrisome questions and concerns that you're not sure if you even want to use it.

For now, all you can do is keep it with you, just in case, and hopefully you'll find a satisfactory answer before you meet with the Wizards. It's still early in the morning and your meeting is at noon, so all you can do is get on with your day for now.
>>
>>22792333
Ask the bartender if they no something. Then practice our story once again (country girl suddenly receives fae's gift and magic happens). And then see if our dress is not too lewd for the meeting.

Go downstairs, get breakfast and practice our story again.

You head down to the tavern and make a point to ask each of the workers if they know anything about the sack of coins or anything donating money to her or visiting her room, but all of them have nothing helpful to tell you. All the night shift people went home hours ago and none of them mentioned anything like that, nor were there are missing purses or money reported to them. Although, seeing the hefty sack of coin, several of them offer to take it off your hands, jokingly. One of them comments that you must have a rather wealthy secret admirer for someone to leave that much money as a gift.

You take a seat at a table and enjoy a nice breakfast, paying from your own purse instead of from the mysterious sack. You run through some of your story with Millia while practicing your magic as usual. Ghost hands to grab at distant things, arcane sight to spot out any enchanted items, Regent's Rhetoric for the delivery of your words without any stammering of pauses.

Eventually, Danny and Hekaton come down to join you, followed by your parents, and then finally Arthur and Jultun. Just as it was the night before, you find yourself surrounded by a lively table of friends and party members.

It relaxes you some, but once you grill Danny about the coins and she doesn't fess up to any crimes, instead insisting that had she taken that much coin that she wouldn't be so stupid as to just give it away.. But if you're not keen on keeping it, she's quite okay with accepting an anonymous donation. She even adds in a remark about the way Sir Firebrand would totally accept such gracious charity, like he did in the stories.

Likewise, neither of your parents, Hekaton, Arthur, nor Jultun know a thing about any donation pool.

With your leads exhausted, all you can really do is enjoy your food and keep up the practice. You need to be ready for this meeting and you can't spend these last few hours fussing over some coins. You didn't lose anything and there's no drawbacks to holding onto this money for the time being.

Perhaps, once you know for sure whether or not you'll be training under some famous Wizard, you can see about learning a spell from Millia or Lucile that will let you look into the past to find out who donated all of this money for you..

Actually, now that you think about it, Lucile might know something. All you knew was what you had gleaned from Yurara's vision. Just thinking about it makes you shiver, though. There's still the possibility that she could have seen something that you didn't, right Lucile? Oh... Thinking about mysterious strangers sneaking into your bed at night and giving you a *generous* donation? You groan and mentally kick yourself for expecting her to be helpful when you needed her to.

You just want to know if Lucile saw anything last night, if she could actually see, that is. Oh, unbunch your frilly little panties.. No strangers came into your room last night, as far as I know. You sigh. At least that's something and now your leads are sufficiently exhausted.

All that's left is to kill some time. If there was anything pressing that needed doing, now would be a good time to do so. Even if there isn't anything else that needs doing, you can still just continue to practice until the meeting.

>Last chance wat do, otherwise we're skipping ahead to the meeting

>>
Give me a short while to take care of some things. Then I'll get back to typing.
>>
>>22793466

This is a good idea, but we need something more specific.

Maybe also see about warding our room with an Alarm spell, in case someone else comes in tonight.
>>
>>22793582
Well we could go easy and just expend magic feeling her up.
We do really need to start getting creative when it comes to Danny. Maybe we should start learning spells suited to that?

Or maybe we should just give her a bigger ass. I'm sure Hekaton would appreciate it. Hell, maybe next time he goes hold her he finds a little more than he bargained for?

Perhaps we could enchant Hekaton with a conditional release spell where any butt he grabs magically inflates? I'm sure that wouldn't come back to bite us... in the ass.
>>
>>22793704

>unprovoked ass-inflation

No. This is how we end up like the crazy asswizard at the beginning of the quest.

Now, conjuring ice cubes in her panties on the other hand...
>>
>>22793798
With Danny it's always provoked!
>>
>>22793889

Fair enough.

If we're going to enlarge Danny's ass though, I suggest we do it a little at a time. We don't want her to notice that we're doing it until its too late.
>>
>>22793936
Nah. Give her some big and temporary.
Give them something "extra" to do while we're away.

Gotta liven up that sex-life, y'know?
>>
>>22793936
Only as long as it also gives her something of a benefit.

For example, enhanced ass muscles to be able to leap higher, or to run better!

...yeah, I'm stretching.
>>
>>22793205
Use magic hands to grope succubutt
>>
>>22793889
But I'd rather do something that we can do, such as multi-Ghost Hand groping, or being able to conjure ice cubes in her bra and panties.

Body transformation stuff is still all Lucille and the Dress; it's not practice for us and only strains our relationship with Danny.
>>
>>22794099
>strain our relationship with Danny

Pbbbbbbt, she knows she likes it.
>>
>>22794099
Could pinch Danny and blame it on Hek.
>>
>>22794099

Let's not go angering our allies now...

Silly, why can't we just do it all? Slip some ice cubes into her panties and then top it off with some ass-spansion... some groping... Come now, the world is just a bunch of people waiting to be turned into monster girls for our pleasure, let's enjoy it while we can.
>>
>>22794099

I guess dramatic ass-enlargement might be okay as long as we make sure its temporary. I think we should wait until we need a favor from Lucille, though. We can bribe her by promising to grow Danny's ass.

I'm all for the ice cubes; put an extra cold one right against her back door. Pinching or groping her when it could plausibly have been Hek is also good. And of course, we can always have a gust of wind lift her skirt just as she's bending over in public.
>>
We were scheming to give Danny a good scrub weren't we?

The rest of the morning passes uneventfully. You garner some praise from your parents for learning so much magic so quickly, but you tell them the credit is largely due to having a very good teacher, like Millia.

You practice maintaining multiple ghost hands, which you use to sneakily grope both Millia and Danny, then quickly deny having done anything. You create a few illusions, then dispel them, tune in your arcane sight, apply and remove mage armor a few times, create an animated fork which awkwardly strides around the table, wobbling back and forth as it walks on its 4 prongs. Lucile and the Dress are eager to suggest all sorts of terrible things, but you manage to keep yourself in check. With your parents around, it's particularly hard for you to give into any lewd urges.

You notice that Jultun is watching you with rapt interest as you cast spells so freely, but you just make a point to continue practicing, instead of making a big deal about it.

You discuss your story with the party, explaining that there are certain things you need to keep secret, in hopes of gaining the trust of these wizards, instead of doing it under the pretense of having a dangerous magic item that they may want more than they'd want you. They help you iron out a few of the details and make a few helpful suggestions, like telling you to do that thing with the fork. That's sure the impress them.

Time flies by quickly enough and soon you and everyone else have begun your march to the appointed location. The invitation told you to meet with Masters Ocotob and Rossellini at the Arisca City Hall, where they will be joining each other for casual talk and some tea and now expecting your attendance.

The City Hall is an immense structure sitting the middle of Arisca, towering over most of the surrounding buildings. Once inside, it's equal parts cavernous and palatial, with huge arched ceilings and wide open spaces that echo at the merest footsteps.

An older man at a front reception desk asks if he can assist you, with a perturbed expression as he looks over your group of exotic party members in tow. His eyes linger on Arthur and Hekaton, in particular, since they are the largest and least civilized looking in the group.

You offer your invitation and explain that you were told to come here for a meeting. He looks over the invitation and examines the seal on it, then politely tells you to wait here the time being. He returns promptly and motions towards a side room, "Masters Ocotob and Rossellini will see you now, Miss Dorothy.. And only Miss Dorothy."

Before you can leave, everyone takes their chance to offer you some last minute advice and encouragement.
"You're almost there. Just keep your wits about you and see this to the end, son" From your Father.
"We'll be waiting for you back home, what ever the circumstances." From your Mother.
"Just like we practiced, darling. Just go in there, be respectful, and let them know that you are the best apprentice in the world and they would be lucky to have you." From Millia.
Hekaton gives a stern nod and a thumbs up on three of his six arms.
Danny rolls her eyes, "Just remember all the promises you've gotta keep, Princess." Whether she intended it or not, that one feels especially meaningful on multiple levels.
Arthur grins wide and places a hand on Jultun's shoulder, "We'll be here to watch your back, no matter what."

Jultun hesitates for a moment, then blurts out, "What kind of flowers do you like..?" then quickly adds on, "For celebration.. I mean, celebrating.. Your getting this far and all.. It's kind of a big deal.."

You can't help but smile. "I like lillies," you tell him, before turning and heading towards your meeting.

You find yourself in front of a set of large wooden double-doors with a golden plaque that reads "Augustus Ocotob" on it. You take a deep breath and slowly open the door. You partially step in, peeking in your head to survey the room before you step in.

"You must be the young Miss Smith, I presume?" A gravely old voice calls out from inside the room.

Sitting towards the back of the small side office is a much older man which you can immediately identify as Ocotob because he practically oozes professionalism. His hair is trimmed short and slicked back, and his beard, rather than being down the the floor is a short and tidy, salt and peppery sort of color. He's forgone robes, instead wearing what appears to be a custom tailored suit, which has become more popular with nobles and aristocrats.

He's reclined in a large leather chair situated behind an enormous desk which appears to be covered in carefully segmented piles of books and documents and scrolls. This is certainly the same man who wrote that awful boring book you read last night.

Sitting across Ocotob must be Rossellini, who also defies your expectations entirely. A younger, though still much older than you, man slouches lazily against in his chair. His clothes are dirty, his clothes are loose and wrinkled. He's wearing a robe, but the sleeves are hastily rolled up to his elbows. He has something of a beard, but it's more like a fuzzy patch on the edge of his chin, and his hair is a complete mess, like he just rolled out of bed.

Rossellini is a stark contrast to Ocotob, but you're not sure if his slovenly appearance is preferable to the stuffy seriousness. He's got a cup of tea in his hand, but he's holding it very casually, with his thumb through the handle and his fingers curled around it. Even you know that's not how you hold a tea cup..

GIRL! You wills how them some *RESPECT*!! Now straighten up, and introduce yourself, like a civilized person! You consider reaching for a clarity potion just to get through this, but instead, you bring both hands to the hem of your skirt and gently curtsy to the two men sitting before you. Not too deeply, just a little one.. It's the one thing you didn't really practice, after all..

"That would be correct. I am Dorothy Smith. It's a pleasure to meet you Master Ocotob. Master Rossellini." You curtsy to each of them, more of a slight bob to show respect. That's better!

Ocotob makes a sweep of his arm to the only other free seat in the room, which promptly swivels on its own to face you, "Well then... May as well let you have a seat. No point in making you stand the whole time."

You move very carefully, measuring each step as you move to the seat. Your heart is already racing, but you conceal it as best you can.

When you finally sit, Ocotob takes a gentle sip from his tea and pauses for an unusually long moment. "You'll have to forgive me, but I'm not entirely sure why you're here, Miss Dorothy..."

"I'm here because, well, magic. Magic and fae to be precisely. Do you care to listen to my history, I will make it short to not take much of your time"

"I have a great deal of interest in studying magic, having only recently been able to begin practicing it. I was hoping that perhaps, you would take me in for tutelage?"

"In short? I'm here because I need your help."

Proceed to relate to them our cover story and hope to god it holds up under scrutiny of someone with an int bonus higher than is entirely feasible. (on that note, what's ours? It's been a while since we saw physical stats and what about mental ones?)

Also worth nothing: Lucile is serious. This could be good, could be bad. I hope to GOD that's 100% her and not the dress reacting to people who it used to recognise as its 'masters'.

"You owed Gulcano a favor and he went and called it for this girl to come and have tea with us.." Rossellini explains in an as-a-matter-of-factly way. Ocotob sighs and sets down his cup, "Well, yes, but why would she go and do that, Thomas? What sort of young girl would go through the trouble of working for that troublesome man just to come and have tea with a couple of old men like us." Rossellini scoffs, "Old? Speak for yourself..."

You clear your throat softly and lean forward in your seat. Both of them look your way, as if they had forgotten you were in the room in the short moment they started talking.

You hold up a finger, asking for them to wait for a moment, and cast the Regent's Rhetoric spell on yourself, ensuring that your words would be fluid and and flawless.

"I'm here because I need your help," you tell them, making your words as honest and straightforward as you can to grab their attention. With both of them properly quieted, you continue, beginning into the important part of your cover story.

"The short version is that I would like one of you to take me on as your student." You notice a slight whinge from each of them, "However, the long version is that I need to learn more magic because I have reason to believe that some day the Fae may come for me." that immediately dissolves any apprehension they showed earlier, making the two of them sit up and lean a little closer.

"That's a lofty claim, young lady.." Ocotob starts in. "The Fae don't just come for people like they do in the stories," Rossellini adds.
>>
>>22796400
"Forgive me if my claim sounds outlandish, but it is the truth. On the journey here they happened upon our convoy, leaving a flower in my hair."

"With all due respect Master Rossellini we have interacted with the Fae for centuries are are no closer to actually understanding them. A common element in the little we do have is the importance of favors and debt, I could be considered in their debt, not a place I wish to be.

My father is a Druid and can confirm my story, in addition I can show you the floral crown I received from the procession.

Tell me Masters, have you ever seen one of the Fair Folk yourself? They appear beautiful, terrifyingly so, and are so otherwordly that the world around them shifts and bubbles at their very presence. Their procession leaving behind multihued flowers that exist nowhere else in the world.

They are not meant to be understood and they follow no rules other than their own incomprehensible ones."

You shakes your head and take a moment to gather your thoughts again, "When I was younger, I crossed paths with the Fae Procession while traveling through the woods with my Father. He is a Druid and he can confirm this, if you'd like. They bestowed a crown of flowers to me for some reason, then left, as they do." You emphasize the point by removing your hat, which has the flower crown on it, and holding it out for Rosselini to inspect.

"I've tried to do a little research and there's a chance that they might show up one day and try to collect a favor from me that I won't be able to deny without proper training." You can hear Rossellini mumbling something to himself as he carefully inspects the flowers with an odd twinkle in his eye. "We have dealt with the Fae for centuries and we are no closer to truly understanding them. All we know is that they place a great deal of importance on favors and debts."

"Shortly after receiving the crown, I found that I had some talent for magic and I began to practice it. I was able to learn some things on my own and others from beginners' books, like Practical Magic and The Everyman's Guide to Limitless Cosmic Power." That last part doesn't seem to impress, so you add in, "I even read through your book, Master Ocotob, in an effort to learn more." You catch the smallest little smirk on his lips.

"I need a better teacher than a book. I struck a deal with Mister Gulcano so I might gain an audience with powerful wizards of your caliber for that exact reason." That last part was a flat out lie, but your spell makes it seem natural enough.. you hope.

I am in full agreement, except that we ghost hand our tea, while pouring more for the two wizards with ghost hands while animating the desserts to walk over to the wizards.

You feel your spell beginning to fade, so all you can do is let your words hang in the air for a while. There's nothing wrong with allowing them to mull over your words, though you think you need to drive your point home with one last gesture.

"If I may..?" you ask quietly, reaching for the tea. "Go right ahead," Ocotob tells you, but neither of them moves to assist you. You set out two ghost hands, taking a cup in one and the teapot in the other. You even manage to add a spoonful of sugar to your cup and stir it a bit before floating both the cup and saucer over to yourself. Rossellini openly chuckles at your display and offers your hat with the crown to Ocotob for his own inspection.

"She's telling the truth. Those're unnatural flowers and their patterns all wreak of Fae magic." Ocotob pulls a pair of spectacles from his pocket and rests them on his nose as he leans in the scrutinize the crown. "How about that..? Seems there's some legitimacy to your claim after all, Miss Dorothy." He looks up at you, over the rims of his spectacles, "Both of them. You've got quite a spark for magic for a beginner."

You take a sip of you tea, making sure to hold it properly, before flashing and appreciative smile. You gesture with the tea pot using your ghost hand, offering to refill their cups. Without looking up Ocotob holds out his cup for you, but Rosselini declines.

"Although, a few simple spells is hardly reason for us to clear our schedules for a full time pupil.." You maintain a calm facade, but you are feeling anything but calm all of the sudden.

"For what it's worth, though.. The girl has a real concern, Aug'. This isn't something we should just turn away just because you've got a schedule to keep." Rossellini argues, making you want to rally behind him.

Ocotob sighs and holds out your hat out for you to grab, "I suppose you have a point, but what are we supposed to do about it?"
>>
What if the two of you share in my tutelage? Then it would not be so demanding on either of your schedule. The younger wizards in the tower can handle the teaching of the basics in magic.
>>
>>22797779
"well if your schedule is a problem then maybe I can learn by helping out with your projects, like an assistant?"
>>
>>22797779
"I don't need that much time, I'm a good student and learn well. I'll also be of help with any projects that you work on. For some of the basics I can rely on apprentices or lower level wizards you are connected to and should you pool your efforts there ought to be more than enough time."

While talking start whipping up some more advanced magics, a few basic illusions, animating things on the table, turn on Arcane Sight and start identifying magical auras of anything around here.

Also, use mage armor, animate object, and utensils to put on a fighting match.

You decide to make things slightly more impressive by taking your teacup in one ghost hand while you use the second ghost hand to float the saucer back over to the tray to spoon a few lumps of sugar onto it.

You pull it back to yourself and use the animation spell, finding it far easier to apply to such a small creation than it was for something much larger, and begin to create a pair of tiny sugar golems. "If you're worried that I'm incapable or that I'd need constant supervision.." you weave an illusion around them, creating a tiny Colosseum around the saucer, "Well, I'd be honored to be under the direct tutelage of powerful and renowned Wizards like yourself, but.." you gently tap each of your little sugar golems and bestow them with a touch of mage armor, which manifests as ethereal pink plating, "I don't really think it would be necessary for you to babysit me every step of the way."

You float your tiny Colosseum over to Ocotobs desk and place it so both he and Rossellini can see the tiny battle raging on the saucer. "I'm a very capable learner, but my resources are limited. If I could be around one of you to learn, perhaps even assist, if you'd allow it, and just study at your libraries and practice under your watch, then perhaps I'd be able to solve this Fae problem without diverting your valuable time." You float your teacup back into your hand and take another sip.

You were starting to see how Lucile could find such solace in magic. It's hard to be nervous or panicky when you've got a spell to focus on. It's comforting to slip into the rote motions of a cast, in a strange sort of way.
>>
>>22798318

Pervert, I think the coliseum battle is amazing. It is little miracles like this that keeps me coming back.
>>
>>22798318
Turn on Arcane Sight, I'm wondering what magic these two are pulling off right now.

Keep up the Golem Battle, show off precision and finesse by making a crowd watching them from the stands, have some more golems of a different type administer medical care to them after the fight. Just make it more complex and vivid. They'll be impressed by raw magical power, but they'll be amazed by precision and control.

Do this while sipping tea with a ghost hand and talking.

You add to your illusion, creating cheering crowds of sugar golems lining the walls of the Colosseum. If you'd known you could win them over with a silly little diorama like this, you might have brought other foodstuffs to animate.

Luckily, this is far easier to keep going because of the autonomous nature of the Animation and Illusionary Image spells. They'll eventually burn out, but you don't have to sit there and actively control and puppeteer every movement.

"So, your plan is to move in as a part-time student, part-time assistant and hope that just studying near us will help you come up with a solution?" Rossellini inquires incredulously.

You laugh softly, concealing your anxiety, "When you put it like that... But, actually, I've kind of got this idea." Rossellini nods, "Let's hear it."

"I've got a particular interest in magic items.." you cast arcane sight on yourself and take a quick inventory of all the magical items you can find, which is far easier said than done. Rosselini is decked out from head to toe. The rings on each finger, his bracelets, the topmost button on his collar, his belt buckle, his left shoe lace, and most jarringly of all, his eyes. They burn brightly, giving him an intimidating appearance, but you can make out traces of the magic.. It's a sort of spell like arcane sight, which makes sense, considering that it's on his eyeballs, but it's far more intense and precise than anything you could cast.

You can see him smirking with amusement at your surprise..

"Like your rings.. and Master Ocotob's Spectacles... I was thinking, if I could learn about them, and learn to make them, I might be able to figure out what the Fae put in the crown, and possibly what they might want from me.. If it's possible, I would like to eventually attempt to sever the connection it gives them to me."

You sincerely hope that your cloaking spell can keep the intense magic of the Dress hidden from such a powerful spell. For as many magical objects as Rossellini has on his person, you know for a fact that the Dress has more.

Then a different thought crosses your mind.. What if he's got some sort of spell that lets him see through clothes? What if he's checking you out right now? Is there even such a spell? Would he do that to you? Ohhh.. Now there's a properly naughty idea.. Even if he's not, perhaps he'd like it if your clothes were translucent? Gods Above, Lucile! This is not the time to suddenly lose our collective shit, again!

You put the mental clamps on and take a slow controlled breath, "And, for what it's worth, it's not as if I'd be completely useless to you as an apprentice. I worked for the past few years as the assistant to a shopkeep, so I have some experience already already as a merchant. I understand that you, Master Rossellini, run a store of your own that deals in the magical items that you create, and you, Master Ocotob, are a businessman and an authority on trade law involving anything to do with magic." You search your mind for what you could remember from skimming his book, "Which, by the way, I thought your interpretation on the cost analysis of spell casting to be very interesting."

Ocotob gives a sagely nod, "Well, most don't really take the time to consider the sort of work that goes into a good spell. They think it's all a wave of the hand and a few simple words. They don't understand that it can be a more labor intensive process and needs to be priced as such.."

Rossellini groans and holds up a hand, "We don't have time for a lecture. We need to make a decision, otherwise we'll be here all day."

"Are we at least in agreement that Miss Dorothy has some potential that is worth exploring?" Ocotob begins, to which Rossellini shrugs, "It's certainly a unique case, at the very least. No one has gone to such lengths to meet with either of us before, and with a Fae gift, on top of it." Ocotob nods, "That is quite true.. and she has displayed a fair amount of skill for someone without formal training."

As uncomfortable as it was for you to sit quietly while they talked about you as if you weren't there, it was sounding positive and hopeful, so you don't make a point to protest.. Just like a good little girl. You just sit still and let your masters talk... And then there's that, which makes your skin crawl..

"I'm not about to confine either her or me to some sort of contract promising years of apprenticeship, but I'm will to give her a chance. Maybe let her hang around my shop for a while and see how things go." Rossellini suggests. "Rooming would not be an issue either, but I would prefer something more formal, and you know exactly why." They both nod, "Gotta tie up any liabilities.."

Ocotob looks to you, "It would appear that both of us have an equal interest in having you as an apprentice of sorts, but I believe there is a slight problem." You lean forward in your seat, nodding in understanding, "What sort of problem..?" Ocotob rests his elbows on his desk and tents his fingers, "We have wildly different schedules and it wouldn't be possible for one such as myself to organize my life around a part-time student."

"Meaning..?" you ask, reluctant to hear what sounds like a rejection..

"Meaning that we couldn't both tutor you. You will need to choose which one of us you will be studying under."

Rosselini. He seems a better fit in both aptitude and personality.
>>
>>22800498
Eh, I agree with you, but not your reasoning. Ocotob doesn't seem like he is quite as experienced with the particular field of magic that we want training in as Rosellini, who spends most of his time working on enchanting items. He is a better choice with the given information.

"I only know a small amount about each of you. I don't think I could rightfully make an informed decision about something so important." While Rossellini seems like the clear choice, it is best to be polite. You don't want to be too rude and just outright burn your bridge with Ocotob, just because you think his book is boring.

Ocotob, understanding your hesistance, explains that even though he doesn't have the specific expertise in crafting magical items, he is still quite powerful and maintains an extensive network of contacts which you, as his apprentice, would have access to. Not to mention the valuable goods and materials that he has available to him. This means that even if he cannot personally help you, he knows people who can, and that includes some who may have knowledge on Fae Gifts and dealings. Not to mention that his law-oriented style of thinking may prove to be a boon if you ever have to actually negotiate with the Fae.

When it comes to rooming, Ocotob promises a degree of luxury you may not be accustomed to. He is a very wealthy and influential man, after all. However, you will be a on a strict budget and allowance.

Rosselini, on the other hand, is a specialist in magic items. He will be able to teach you everything you need to know about enchanting and crafting artifacts. He maintains one of the best workshops in the nation and has a small crew of assistants that help him to run his shop, which sells, buys, repairs, and appraises magic items and goods. Unfortunately, as far as the Fae go, his experience is limited. He does believe there is some merit to your idea and may be able to help you break any sympathetic connections that could trouble you, but he'll only know for sure after some extensive testing.

Rossellini admits that he can't offer luxury, but he does have some spare rooms, if you really need them. As long as you don't burn them down, they are yours to do with as you please.
>>
>>22800630
>Ocotob
I feel like we can use him more, things that he can't teach us, he can most likely find someone who can.
And I rather not break the sympathetic link with the Fae, as that seems to be helping us.
>>
>>22800630
So... strictly from the Fae Crown perspective, Ocotob seems the best option, especially with the side benefits of connections.
However, regarding our Dress, Rosselini seems the wiser choice.
Ocotob -is- boring as fuck, but would be the best choice for getting us out of our Fae Bindings...
Seems like he just needs to lighten up a bit. I'm sure you can help him with that, dearie. Ufufu
Eh, I'd say go with Rosselini because the Dress is our primary objective, and we may not mind whatever the Fae want from us anyways.
The Fae are a possible threat, but the Dress is a definite one.
>>
>>22800630
still Rossellini. Why go through Ocotob's contacts when Rossellini has everything we need? and we don't care about luxury, because we have illusions.
and that magic shop, for swank swag
>>22800701
and Fae=bad
any help they give us will be taken tenfold when they come back
>>
>>22800630
I'm still sticking with Rossellini.

Ocotob might provide more luxury but he'll also have more oversight over our personal life I feel. The Dress is our big objective and Millia can help us with contract and law related stuff.

Also Ocotob seems less fun.
>>
>>22800630
So it's either Rosselini enchantments or Ocotob contacts? Why not both, we stay under Rosselini tutelage and maybe pay Ocotob to invite us whenever he meet one Fae related person.
Also, the only luxury we need is a big bed and Millia
>>
>>22800630
Voting for Ocotob because while we have time to find a solution to the Dress, the Fae are unpredictable in when they'll come to collect, and we will need all of the assistance we can get to keep the Fae from fucking us over.
>>
>>22800735
Like I said in >>22800732, the Fae aren't -necessarily- bad, just unpredictable. We have no idea what they may want from us. Maybe they simply want the fame of having blessed one of the greatest wizards of our time with a Royal Fae Crown. Improving PR with the other sentient races seems like a reasonable objective. We simply cannot know what they want from us, so we assume it is a bad thing, just like everyone else.
>>
>>22800775
Same.
>>
>>22800775
Addition to this.

Just because we won't be under Ocotob's tutelage doesn't mean we won't ever see him, we can still network through him with some extra work.

that is a very good point, the negotiation with Millia at the beginning was proof of her fukin demoness badassness. maybe we could sex them
>>
>>22800630
just caught up on the quest, add my vote to Rossellini, as he may be able to actually help with the reason why we came here, the fucking dress, with our magical bed buddy we can figure out the fae business by our own
>>
Rossellini is not only suitable for our cover story, but he's also relevant to the problem of the dress, as such we're more likely to learn what we need to undo some of the compulsion spells on the dress

After much internal deliberation, this time, mostly just with yourself and not the voices occupying your head, you decide that you would be best off studying under Rossellini. Even though Ocotob could be a valuable ally and offer you a collection of experts of every possible variety, you feel that there would be too many other obligations that would interfere with your actual goal.

Not to mention that Ocotob's stuffy, serious, and stern demeanor would really wear on you after the first few days.

Rossellini's relaxed attitude is really more your speed and offers the sort of help that you need. First and foremost, you need to get the dress under control. You need to free Lucile. You need to turn back. And most importantly of all, you need to make sure that you fulfill your bargain with Millia and get her the dress.

Staying with Ocotob may allow you to fend off any impending doom from the Fae, but it may also mean months, maybe even years, more spent in this Dress, slowly going more and more insane. That just simply won't do.

"Master Ocotob, Master Rossellini.. I must say, that I feel honored in a way I could not have prepared for. To have to choose between two prolific figures-- To even have that choice presented is far more than I deserve." You are absolutely sincere at this point. You weren't even sure they'd let you talk, but here you are..

"As amazing as it would be to work along side you, Master Ocotob, I believe that the help I need can be found studying with Master Rossellini. It's not a choice I make lightly, but I hope that we can cross paths again at some point."

Rossellini smiles at Ocotob, as if he had just won a bet, then turns to you. "Should be interesting having a little prodigy like you around the shop.. But there's one thing.." His expression darkens and his tone become dead serious, "One very, very important thing you need to do.."

This is not good...

"W-What is it, you need me to do, Master Rossellini?" He leans closer to you and you follow his lead, leaning in as well, scooting to the edge of your seat...

"For fuck's sake, Girl!! Just call me Tom!"

His sudden shouting catches you off guard and a frightening squeak escapes your throat. "Y-yes! Of course!... Tom.."

Ocotob sighs and sip the last of his tea. "It's a shame, Miss Dorothy, but hopefully you'll find the help you need in Thomas, here. He's a strange man, but he earned his place as my friend and colleague." He sets his cup on the tray and begins reaching for some paperwork, "Just as well, I suppose. We need to wrap up this meeting, either way. You'd likely find your first day as my apprentice quite tedious, especially with the work load I have awaiting me."

Tom stand sup from his seat, shakes Ocotob's hand and tells him to not work too hard. He heads for the door and holds it open for you. You bow deeply to Ocotob and head out to join, Tom in the main hall.

You share a brief talk, mostly just covering the basic details. He's going to head back to the workshop and set up some things. He borrows some paper from the receptionist and scribbles down an address, instructing you to meet him at his workshop as soon as you have your things gathered. He's not expecting to start any lessons tonight, so he just tells you to take your time.

He heads out on his way, but when he reaches the front doors of the City hall, he twists one of his rings and places his hand on the door. When it opens, instead of the outside streets, you see him entering what must be his workshop. He turns back and smiles at you over his shoulder before closing the door behind him.

where is everybody? let's find our party
>>
>>22801367
IT'S OFFICIALLY CELEBRATION TIME! You know what that means? It means we get lilies, we get some drinks, we grope our succubutt and catgirl princess both with ghost hand and with our normal hands and have some celebration sex before getting our stuff and heading to the address.
>>
Problem - In our new address, how are we going to hide succubutt?
>>
>>22801394
I'm surprised Our Great and Glorious Overbutt didn't include Miss Lilli reacting subtly to us saying that, actually.

>>22801417
At the same time. One real hand and one ghost hand for each, covering all four cheeks at once.

Hey, SP, can we feel what our ghost hands feel? I want to know for research purposes, and I keep forgetting to ask.
>>
It's 3am and I need some sleep.

I think this may be a wrap on this thread, but if it survives the night, then we'll just use it for Q&A and further planning.

I think this is going to be our official half-way-ish point in the story, or at least an "end of book 1" type thing, since the total compilation of most of Ass Quest is over 200 pages now (over 400 if in A5 typical novel paper size). This shit is officially a novel, by any standard.

There will probably be a recap thread for newer readers and some other little shit in between, but when Ass Quest resumes, there will be a slight timeskip, because who really wants to deal with all the fiddly little shit involved with moving in? No body likes moving in real life, so why should I subject you to the tedium of moving imaginary furniture and getting situated in a fantasy house?

>Hey, SP, can we feel what our ghost hands feel? I want to know for research purposes, and I keep forgetting to ask.

Yes / Kind of.

There is the faintest sensation of touch transmitted by the ghost hands, but it's not quite full sensory input, as it is just the most basic feedback to let the user know that they are pressing against something or the gist of how heavy something may be.
>>
>>22801518
Could we enhance the tactile sensation coming from the hands with practice?

Could we make half a dozen ghost hands and use them for somatic components for spells?
>>
>>22801518
does it work on a per hand basis? cause if so, in order to properly "feel" we just need the correct application of enough ghost hands

ALL THE HANDS on Millia's ass

Shes probably waiting to tease us about it tonight.

bump for future reading.

>>22802963
Dammit, I missed the chance to vote for Ocotob!

Stuffy wizards are great, we get to learn very slowly and aren't likely to pick up a master who's hot for us! And if we get so, so very frustrated at him... I'm sure he'd unwind much better if Ocotob were a she, instead~

Tom's much more charismatic, and therefore that much more of a threat!
>>
>>22803054
but is actually useful to us towards the purpose we actually came her for
>>

End now? But what about our date with the librarian elf? Even Lucile was expecting for this date to happen
>>
Is the quest in this thread over or did it just take a break for the night?

This. We need to do at least the celebration night before the timeskip

The long and short answer is that I just don't have time to continue for the next few days and I don't really like micromanaging scenes where we're trying to do a dozen things in one night.

The best thing I can offer is that the date can be held off until Roger is moved in and settled at her new place. Also, the date wasn't set for a specific day.

I had to go back and check but the specific line was:
>"How about this? Once I sort everything with the Ocotob and Rossellini, you join me and show me some of your favorite spots in the city?" Taiva looks surprised and a little confused by your forwardness, but nods to you, "I think that would be nice.."

So, Roger gets set up at Tom's workshop, begins the apprentice thing, then seeks out the librarian to set up a date a day or two later.
>>
>>22805927
But SP! What about the ass!?

Also if we're staying there where are all of our friends staying?

We didn't tell them we'd have 3 freeloaders that need room and board too.
>>
>>22806056
Well just one freeloader (Millia)
Danny can room with Hek somewhere. They will manage.
>>
>>22806467
Maybe he'll allow pets?
A shame she had to find a hubby so quick, every wizard needs a pet cat.

As long as they aren't fucking in the workshop or getting in the way, they could probably be allowed to stay in the spare rooms with you, though it may require some promises and favors for him to be okay with it.

Illusionary maids would be good practice.

So, Hek and Danny are right out.

Alright, you get Danny on Tuesday and Saturday.
>>
>>22807942
Will Danny and Hek still want to hang with us? Isn't Hek supposed to be a pilgrim or something?
>>
>>22809417

Well Danny CAN'T leave, and probably won't because she presumably still wants us to make her no longer catlike or something? Who knows, really, you'd think she'd like that too. We can't her free on the world until we know she's not gonna go around and steal everything, though.
