Welcome back everyone! When we last lefft off, we were approaching the next town. So far, two towns have been conquered by you and your comrades in arms.

Current Strength:
50 Hormigaunts (With 50 with Victor in the first town you conquered.)
1 Lictor (Named Victor)
1 "improved" Steak, the even more delicious former guardsman, armed with a hellgun.
20 "Guardifiexs" armed with biological lasguns, each with 10 biolaspacks. (The Original Guardifex is guarding the second conquered town).
1 Hormissar, armed with a bolt pistol (Which, of course, is you.)
2 Genestealers.
8 Genestealer Cultists.
150 Termagants.
900 "Food Rippers" who will produce Biomass/Sandwiches given time.
1 Chimera, yet to be upgraded.
12 Civilian Transports.
2 Limos.
500 Total Townspeople under your control, 50 of whom are skilled enough to produce the high quality sandwiches that you desire.
>>
>>22822947
I vaguely remember we wanted to do something with Genestealers in infiltrate the town.
>>
As you approach the town, you notice a sudden difference in the same area. The road becomes much less dusty, and is more solidly formed. You seem to be approaching a more urban area, so you may encounter some resistance here.
>How do you plan on entering the town?
>>
send in genestealer cultists to scout first.
>>
>>22823122
We're heroes approaching a normal town. Stride in as if we own the place, then root out heretics/biomass/a suitable mate for Steak.
>>
>>22823122
Parade formation, With gaunts in front, followed by termagants, then us being escorted by the guardifexs. genestealers go around the side to infiltrate and do sneaky things
>>
Wee, a new Zerg Quest(ish)!
>>
*Reads old threads* A really, really, REALLY weird and somewhat silly one. Still, get to play as hilariously nightmarish Comityranid.

Love how everyone else reacts to them like you'd expect someone running into sh*t like this would react, rather than taking part in the silliness.
Crazy Awesome.

You decide it is high time you gain the respect you deserve. After an hour or so of drilling everyone into proper formation, you begin a parade formation entry upon the town. The few guardsman in the town, who were inside of the first few buildings, stare in confusion at the Tyranids who are marching orderly into the town, unable to comprehend the event occuring in front of them. When they finally see you, one of them seems to puts two and two together, and runs outside. The others scream at him to get back, calling him a variety of insults regarding his ancestors and his level of intelligence. He seems to be trying to speak to you.
>What do you do?
>>
>>22823122
Find criminals and kill them
>>
>>22824829
Ask him who holds the highest rank in this town, and that we wish to speak with them.
Also ask for beds for our men, and biomass for their bellies.
>>
>>22824829
Tell them to stop in the nave of the Hive Emperor of Mankind
>>
>>22824829
We answer his questions and spread our faith. Defend ourselves as neccessary. Have genestealers work at infiltrating criminal underground and conquering so we can abuse/expose it, whichever is more useful once we see the town's reaction.
>>
>>22824829
Say that we are doing the Emperor's wok.
>>
>>22824829
You tell him that any time he addresses you, the first word out of his mouth will be "Sir!" and the last will be "Hormissar, sir!"
>>
Ask him who has the biggest hat. Then, tell them that their hat is forfeit and give it to steak. That should cheer him up
>>
>>22824837
Find criminals and sacrifice them for biomass and gaurdiffexes would surely be better
>>
>>22824829
Kill the deserter. Subjugate the town.

>>22824955

You decide to allow him to speak to you. As he walks up, you tell him that when he addresses you, he will begin with "Sir!" and end with "Hormissar, sir!" He addresses you, and aks, in the most serious voice, that, due to you wearing a commissar uniform, if you are the soul of a commissar who, after being eaten, took control of a Tyranid's body, and returned to fight for the Imperium,
>>
>How do you respond?
>>
>>22825332
I serve the Hive-Emperor. Nothing else matters. Now I have a deserter to deal with.
>>
>>22825340
"No time to worry about the details soldier. Enemies are incoming, and we have to prepare if we are to survive until our reinforcements arrive."
"Praise the Hive-emperor that I was able to find such a loyal guardsman as yourself. I shall name you Meat."
>>
>>22825340
"Yes"
>>
>>22825332
We actually conquered the commissar's weak soul and are now showing him how to do his job correctly. Proceed to take full control of the town.
>>
>>22825365
This. Now ask if there's heavy support like BEHNBLAEDE or OHGRINS to assist us.
>>
Offer to enhance them naturally

You confirm his belief (But you are not sure of it yourself) and warn him that you need his help securing the town. He seems happy, and runs back to tell his comrades the good news. You soon have a squad of 10 guardsmen standing in front of you. Most of them are eyeing you suspiciously.
>>22825456
You ask them if there is any heavy support in the area. According to them, there is an old Leman Russ somewhere in town, but it isn't in very good condition and needs to be repaired.
>What do you do now?
>>

In the meanwhile, you order the rest to begin preaching the words of the Hive-Emperor to the rest of the town. They salute and run off. Their lack of personality is starting to get to you.
The whole time, the squad of guardsmen are still still standing at attention in front of you.

>You have now gained 10 "Guardifexes" but have lost 10 Hormagaunts.
>What now?
>>
>>22829407
bitchin', now that everyone is here let's get hackin' up homebrew for only wars.

i'm considering that species be different specialties,

So guardsman specs being:
Termagant (this inclides any ranged variants, so spikerifles, spine fists and whatnot. weapon specialict aanalogue)
Hormagaunt (fast shock trooper?)
Maybe genestealers here?

And then support specialists
Lictors (fucking tankytastic stealth specialists, no comrades and absolutely brutal in their effective range)
Symboted human (beefsteaks. Social folks, Techpriest analogues only instead of implants gain biomorph upgrades?)

obviously need a lot of work and help with this
>>
>>22830505
I like the idea of the Symbiotic Humans being techpriest analogues, but I think that the genestealers would be the shock trooper, not the hormogaunt.

I have no idea for what the hormagaunt would be, besides expendable. Maybe they are what players use as comrades? Besides having a Hormissar, of course. Other than that, sounds like a good base idea.
>>
>>22831302
how will larger critters be handled?
>>
>>22831516
Anything larger than a warrior I would just count as a vehicle in some way, controlled by the Nid PC's synapse or some such. I don't know too many Nid units so I don't know what has a strong synapse.
>>
>>22829407
Strengthen our hold on the town. Have termagants in high places to support our hormagaunts and guardifexs as they go door to door to gather all those who oppose the hive-emperor. Give them the ultimadum of being broken down into biomass or being turned into a guardifex. If we run out of hormogaunts for the fusion, use termagants to get guardifexs with built-in weapons. See if we can find loyal humans to join our cause without transformation to act as inbetween men for future negotiations. Find Steak a worthy mate so we may further spread the tasty gene.
>>
Yeah, trying to run this right in the middle of exams wasn't really the best of ideas. Sorry guys, try and keep this thread alive and I'll continue this tomorrow, and hopefully actually get somewhere.
>>
>>22831720
Let's see what else. Replace Homeworld with Hive fleet?
Commander with Local Aspect?
Switch training doctrines to memories, Equipment doctrines with biomorphs.
let memories and biomorphs be chosen on a pc by pc basis?

AND THEN COMES DOWN THE FURY OF A THOUSAND ANGELS.
Each screaming "FOR SANGUINIUS!" as they make their descent, landraiders, assault marines, and all.

What do YOU do?

-Commander Dante
>>
>>22832386
All sounds good except for PC by PC basis. the training doctrine could be instincts instead of memories, and could still extend over everything. Perhaps this Hive Fleet is well known for how good of shots all of their units are, or how hard they are to completely root out of an area. Equipment doctrines I'm a bit unsure of. Letting all PCs have their own seem a bit much.
>>
>>22832571
well it's personal instincts and biomorphs.
no regimental gear options, their actual gear would be contained in the specialist gear zone.

probably eliminate regimental gear entirely, but wondering what to do for the Symbioted humans.
>>
>>22832682
I could see symbioted humans being a jack-of-all-trades that could use equipment from any of the specializations, perhaps after taking a talent for that specific nid species. They get to choose one off the bat and then can get others later if they want.

Instinct to me seems like more of an overarching idea than a specific person or animal. I think of it that is more of common for a species, or for the whole fleet. So have PCs choose their instinct, and then any creature they encounter that is the same species would have the same instincts. That way PCs can choose their instincts while still allowing it to be an overarching idea.
>>
>>22832545
I obviously aid these angels of death in cleansing heretics in the name of the Hive-Emperor
>>
>>22832881
going home from work, be back in thirty, goahead and tell me more.
>>
>>22832881
back, elaborate, please, i'm kinda low on ideas for biomorphs and instincts.
hell, throw in hive fleet and local aspect ideas too.
>>
>>22833702
How do you figure insanity/taint would get implemented? How far your own will begins to diverge from the GLORIOUS HIVE EMPEROR?
>>
>>22833041
If a player chose the instinct "sharpshooter" then the player would get the bonuses that come with it, but then also if some npcs of the same species appear as part of the same fleet, they would be unusually accurate. Or if a hormogaunt PC took survival, then all hormogaunts encountered from that fleet would also be talented survivors. If multiple players have the same race and want different instincts, make them compromise somehow.

There would be quite a bit of change in acquisitions, seeings as there is no longer a shitty logistics system, as all is controlled by the Hive Mind and by the reclamation pools.
>>
>>22833807
mhh, and if two players are termagants? i figure such a thing would be locked into the player's followers/comrades/horde

>>22833758
i actually think the hive-emps as a corruption of the hivemind. something broken off or changed.
So as someone builds up insanity or corruption they lose more and more free will.

>fuckin' capcha: ctedolu archdeaconry
>>
>>22833702
Some kind of helium/hydrogen gas implant to let them float at some points, tentacles, perhaps feeder tendrils for bonus intimidation maybe let them gain back wounds with a successful feeding, minor synapse powers to buff nearby allies, maybe toxic sacs or denser muscle, tougher bones, pheromones, bonus limbs, built in bio-weapons?

Instincts could be survival oriented, ambush oriented, extra-agressive, extra alertness.

I've nothing on Hive-Types

Local aspects could be perhaps they developed more chitin, making them tougher, or there are more large Nids with this group, or this part is meant to be an advanced force, is more agile, more sneaky. Maybe they are a winged strain, raiding this sector in preperation for the final assault, or use smaller Nids more often to swarm over all sorts of opposition.

>>22833758
I think that the more corrupted you get, the more the Hive Mind takes full control back, so it would build into you becoming just another mindless mook.

>>22833955
If the two players refuse to agree on an instinct, then I guess having it stick with their horde works, if were going to be giving them control over their own strains. Seems like a cool idea actually.
>>
>>22834191
oh shit, right, i wanted rippers as a guardie spec.
those'll be interesting.
>>
Well, lesse, i'm pretty shit at this, but here goes an attempt at the Termagant. I don't really know the standards for creating specialties. Once more, suggestions or comments are appreciated.
Termagant (Guardsman)

Starting Aptitudes: Agility, Ballistic Skill, Defence, Fieldcraft, Finesse, Perception.
Starting Skills: Athletics, Survival(based off per) or Awareness, Stealth or Dodge.

so, i was thinking on comrade advances...

first considering just giving gaunt pc's, as an innate part of being a gaunt, the ability to force their comrades to take a hit for them. of course. this kills the comrade.

also for gaunts, they have multiple comrades, say like. they start with five? ten? 1d10? whatever. so they have a pool of followers, that caps at 30. the pc can split this pool into comrade and horde. the comrades staying in cohesion and providing the usual comrade bonuses, and the horde, basically being a controllable horde of gaunts.

gaunt pc being able to spend a fatepoint to have 1d5(+1, maybe?) additional duders appear/wander into their group up to the max of thirty is also something i'm considerign adding.

now as for termagant comrade advances. one i'm thinking is Offscreen tervigon: Can summon followers without use of a fatepoint, but with a failure possibility that shuts the free reinforcements down for a day. additionally, can call in the tervigon into combat, but should it die, it kills all the gaunt followers of the pc, and zeros out the player's wounds from the backlash.

the other one i was thinking was one that allowed the termagant pc to change the relationship of comrade and horde so that they're one. Call it something like, Strength of many: Followers are no longer divided between horde and comrade, and provide the benefits of both as long as the pc is in cohesion. (this may also be a comrade advance for hormas and rippu)
>>
>>22844502
I really like the Strength of many idea for the swarm species, and the tervigon seems cool for the termagants. For hormagaunts maybe have a reaver take a similar role as the tervigon, being called in to dig a tunnel for gaunt reinforcements to appear from once a day, can also call in the reaper to attack for you? Perhaps rippers can have sky-slashers join in the assault?

oh look, hormagaunts! mostly copypaste from termas

also, hormas can figure out how to use weapons, but it takes twice the number of limbs as normal, and is additionally penalised at -10bs. so a lasgun would take four limbs to use, and you'd be getting a -10 on top of nonproficiency. this can be circumvented by getting hands on your middle limbs. though you lose quadruped trait if you're not using at least three limbs for locomotion

Strength of many: Followers are no longer divided between horde and comrade, and provide the benefits of both as long as the pc is in cohesion.

Sounds good. Are gaunt sized creatures going to be able to wear the armor of fallen human opponents?
>>
>>22847111
possibly, though it'd be ill fitting and cumbersome, they'd have to get it specially made for them. probably be one of the benefits of going more towards the emps side of hive-emprah.

you'll be a hero they said.
they failed to mention the possibility of being
1) kidnapped by 'nids
2) becoming half nid
3) marrying some broad. (wait, the redhead or a clone of me?)
>>
>>22847467
The redhead is going to get a chunk of you put in her. It is the marriage ritual of the Hive-Emperor. After she has gotten some nice upgrades to help you (>>22842217). You'll enjoy it. Probably. We're enjoying it, and that's all that matters.

Hopefully, I'll actually be able to write today.
>>
>>22848001
Awesome! FIRST THING FIRST! Take Steak's toe so we can replace Tater's toe with it and make them married in the eyes of the Hive-Emperor and then symbiote her to give Steak a guard/companion.

Also send genestealers to the hive to begin infestation in the lower levels and find some preachers.
>>
>>22848001
that would be good.
(and i still hung around, helped with the wiki and shtuff.)
so what would be best would be to see if we can get some infiltrators into the other cities, and get people in them to join us (larger populations may be easier to control due to disgruntled masses) as well as the obviousness of already having a genestealer infestation, in which case we need to get in touch with the patriarch and get him on board. (i was the only person in the platoon who actually read the information they gave us about you nids.)
by the way, i was also the guy who wrote the giant-ass strategy thing in the second thread (about taking the town, then cities then hive.)
>>
>>22848074
i vote for a larger rack and prettier face as part of that.
also no "interesting bits", as i already have to worry about getting eaten, being "interacted with" (raped) by one of you or your alien parts is more than i could take (as well as this not being that kind of thread... hopefully)

>prettier face
I do hope you realize that you just asked a tyranid to make her prettier based on tyranid standards of beauty. Shes gonna end up with, like, a cooch mouth surrounded by tentacles. And spikes.
>>
>>22848510
the patrairch is the biggest, baddest one (broodlord) which came in first and started fucking everyone (or making others do it under proxy, to be specific)
and we don't have him, we only have a few regular genestealers (which, granted, can fuck up a SPACE MARINE, but we would need more to make it count.)
we will have problems and clash, what with them trying to spread their stolen genes and us wanting to keep some regular humans for sammiches (or converting them)
what we need to do is get as many resources as possible, and the genestealers have enough of that to be fucking shit up (or attempting to) for when the hive fleet comes in full-force.
we need to parlay with the patriarch.
>>
>>22848558

You decide now to send in the new squad of Guardifexes into the town to soothe the populace. Led by the newly named Meat, they head into the town. Around an hour later, you see a large swarm of civilians coming out of the town. You see Meat, leading them forward, like a prophet to his people. He begins to preach to the assembled civilians of the glories of the Hive-Emperor, and how they must come to love him as he loves them. He directs their attention to you, proclaiming you as a sign that the Emperor has decided to allow humanity to ascend as a new lifeform, where they shall all be connected with one another. He finally finishes, giving you time to speak.
>What are your words?

As all attention is put on you, you quickly think of something clever to say.
You wave your claw-hand and say "Hi." to the civilians.
There is an awkward pause for a moment.
Meat quickly attempts to explain that you are very modest, and etc.

>>22849528

After having meat speak for awhile, you decide to speak again. You actually have thought of something to say this time too. You proudly welcome them as new members of the Hive-Emperor's domain, and explain to them how it is your pleasure to help them advance to true prosperity in His eyes. You then explain to the civilians the new justice system. Anyone who breaks a law must submit an equal part of their body as punishment in order to help fuel the Hive-Emperor's armies. (Eye for an eye, etc.)
>>22849404
>>22849454

Put a force of 10 guardifexs to teach and enforce the law. Put them under the command of Meat. leave 20 termagants behind as reinforcements. Go back to the other towns to see how things are going and to spread the word of our new laws.
