"Hey Rin." I ask, trying to get a couple of questions off my mind.

"Yes?"

"Could someone have a magic artifact of some kind implanted in them?"

".... There are ways, why?"

"I was thinking about Saber's sheath. It would explain why I heal so good and how I managed to summon her."

Rin blinks, and as we walk along places one hand on my chest and another on my neck. She closes her eyes, and furrows her brow. "I feel.... something. it's not a sheath though. I think it's a sword."

"I have a sword in me?"

".... I don't know." She give me a concerned look. "It doesn't really feel like a different thing inside you. It's like it's supposed to be there. Like Kidneys, heart, lung, sword. Just natural."

"..... That's weird, right?"

"Kinda. Not as weird as most things you've been doing." She sighs. "Someone storing a conceptual weapon in their own body would have similar marks. But there would also be a clear boundary between 'person' and 'magic item'. But for you it feel like you're both 'person' AND 'magic item'."

"Isn't that like a magic crest?"

"... In a sense. But crests work differently, they're more organic. You just have a.... thing."

We walk most of the way home in silence, interrupted only briefly when I realize that Rider never went into her spirit form.

Which is when I realize she's been carrying Ilya's luggage the entire time.

The trip home was uneventful. I almost wished something would happen just so we'd have something other than the failed mission to focus on.

Along the way, we feel more than one tremor. None are as strong as the first, but they at least give us some hope that he might still be alive. As soon as we're home safe, Rider heads back and confirms that there's no sign of any of the three Servants at the scene.

Ilya tells us hopefully that Berserker might not be dead because his vessel's essence hasn't gone back into the grail.

It's a tiny comfort, but the meal is rather somber compared to earlier affairs.

>>
>>23039026
>>23038930
Both of these. First we go to the shed and go through everything we can recall. If we find anything of particularly extreme value, maybe we can adopt it as a minor Noble Phantasm. We can be its foster Servant, or something. After that, we go and practice with Saber with any new, useful weapons we find, to see how well we can utilize them. We've done enough character progression and funny interaction. We just failed and may have gotten Berserker in severe danger, or killed. Let's not let our spared lives go to waste on skirt quips.
>>
I walk out to the dojo and close my eyes. I flicker through the mental images of various weapons.

A sword that ignores armor.

A spear that acts as an anchor when it stabs someone.

A kingly sword with an ornate hilt, drawn from a tree.

A pair of axes, sharp enough to cleave stone like it was paper.

The list continues, flickering through a long inventory of items I saw emerge from Gilgamesh's armory. I know that I could easily project any of them, if my body wouldn't be destroyed by the effort.

I'm there for almost ten minutes when saber's voice interrupts my meditation. "Shirou?"

I turn to her. "Saber? Did you need something?"

She stares at me, thoughtfully, and then approaches. "That's the second time I called out to you. Are you alright?"

"Fine." I respond. "A bit tired, but..."

"Berserker's death bothers you."

".... Yeah." I admit with a sigh. "I suppose I'm glad I didn't die, but at the cost of a friend..."

Saber surprises me by grabbing me by the arm. "I know. It's never easy losing someone like that, especially on the battlefield." She hesitates. "... do you want to talk about it?"

Fragarach

Also, why is there never mention of King Arthur's dagger or spear? Because he had a dagger and a spear, and the dagger was rather important in one story, too.
>>
>>23039666
>why is there never mention of King Arthur's dagger or spear?
You mean Carnwennan and Rhongomyniad respectively? Nobody knows they exist. If she COULD be summoned as Lancer (she can't due to the unique nature of her deal with the world) Saber would probably have Rhongomyniad, but she'd be weaker as Lancer than as Saber due to the nature of Heroic Spirits.
>>
Someone commented in the last thread that Gilgamesh had the key-sword to the Gate of Babylon out in the open. It has a hilt and it's not Ea, therefore we can trace it.
Just something to keep in mind. We can't trace shit right now, so chalk it up for "try later when it won't kill us"
Until then,
>>23039358
>[ ] ...Sure.
>>
>>23039730
Right, right. I'm just shocked that, well, she doesn't at least have either weapon on her. I guess since they aren't an explicit part of the legend, her heroic spirit form doesn't carry them.

Also, we have Fragarach. We should focus on harnessing the capability to use Fragarach. That's a cheatcode weapon.
>>
After a long moment, I sit down. "Sure." Saber sits next to me, patient and waiting. "He's dead because of me. Maybe beating Gilgamesh or even just doing enough to hold him back was asking too much of me, but he died because I couldn't."

Saber shakes her head. "Shirou. It's good that you feel a responsibility towards others, but exactly what did you expect?"

"I'm sorry?"

"From what you said, Gilgamesh had you. If Berserker had not intervened he would have gotten you."

"That's what-"

"And Rider, who's ill suited to combat him. And possibly Rin as well. And then how would Berserker escape the tow of them after they'd already murdered all his friends?"

That's a sobering thought. "Huh. I didn't...."

"... Think about it?" She smiles. "It's easy to overlook these things sometimes. Berserker said that he stood the best chance as things were, and he said it knowing who he was facing. Ilya also said that she thinks he's alive, and he apparently has a rather high rank of Independent Action. Perhaps it's too much to hope for, but we aren't certain he's dead right now."

"... Yeah." I shake my head. "somehow I get the feeling that he isn't coming back, but I didn't think about everyone else." I blink and snicker slightly. "Which I think is a first for me, thinking about myself instead of other people."

Saber smiles and gives me a small pat on the arm. "That's better. I know it's hard, but you have to remain objective at times like this. You'll have plenty of time to mourn and bury when this is all over. For now we have to deal with the current crisis." She sounds rather sad despite her smile, but I choose to ignore it for now.
>>
>>23039822

"Hey Saber? I think I have a guess. I think I have some kinda connection to your Sheath."

"Really?" She asks surprised.

"Well, there's just some things connected to it that would make more sense. How I summoned you, why I heal so quickly."

She nods. "I suppose that would make sense. But you don't have it?" I shake my head. "Then how is there a connection?"

"... I don't know. Maybe I lost it somehow?" I sigh. "It just fits the evidence a little too cleanly to ignore."

"I understand." She says, thoughtful.

"Hey, we should go talk to Rin."

"... Why?"

"Well if the sheath is how we made our connection, maybe she can trace it somehow. If that's how you were summoned then we could find the sheath maybe."

Saber looks at me amazed. "Is such a thing possible?"

"I have no idea. This is why we're going to go and talk to the real Mage about it." I tell her with a cheerful smile. A minute later....

"I don't think that's even remotely possible." Rin tells us, giving me one of those looks. The one that tells me that she's upset at how I keep breaking the rules of physics. "I mean, we could try SOMETHING, but I don't know where to start, or what such a spell would even find. I mean, we have the super-powered ghost of a dead person and someone who may or may not be completely human using some sort of magic to find a magic artifact?"

"It's not like I haven't done worse than that." I tell her calmly, and she gives me a small smile.

"The terrifying thing is that it's true. Here, let me take a small sample of blood from the two of you, and I'll see what I can come up with." A few small pricks later and she disappears back into her room to experiment. Saber wanders off to resume her duties as a guard, and I'm left alone again.

"With a Wizard who won't tell em what's wrong, what he wants me to do, what's bad or what's up with your skirt. All he does is tell me things are bad, which I already know. And then I wake up right as he tries to tell me something useful."

"Wait, the same guy from before? The last time?"

"Yeah." I shake my head, clearing my thoughts "Sorry, I could probably explain that better."

"I think I got the gist of it." She responds with a sigh. "Well if he was going to tell you something useful I shouldn't have woken you up." She blinks suddenly, as though realizing something. "Wait, did you say something about my skirt?" Her voice changes to incredulous.

".... Did I? I guess I kinda did." I respond sheepishly.

"I'm gonna go ahead and let you rephrase that." She responds, crossing her arms.

"Alright, Archer did it to mess with me. That first morning after we went to talk to Kirei at the start of the war, he said something about your skirt. Namely that it was highly improbable that you could be running around in one that short with all the wind and such not accidentally giving me a peep. Not that I was really LOOKING for it, but once you notice something like that, it's hard to not notice it." I finish weakly, and cringe slightly, afraid she might be upset. Instead she starts laughing.

"Oh wow. I didn't even think about that!" She doubles over slightly, while I stare on confused. After a few moments, she calms down. "There's actually a very simple explanation for that. It's a perception filter."

"... a what?"
>>
>>23041482

"It's a... thing. Alright, listen. It's something you would expect to see, so your mind dosen't question it. My skirt has a minor enchantment to make you expect to see a skirt in between you and.... that part of me." She finishes with a slight blush. "And you do see it. Technically the way it works you could see everything that isn't there."

"It seems like pants would be less complicated."

"It would, but I find skirts more comfortable. Besides, it's a one-time enchantment and it's not that complicated of a spell once you know how it works."

"It seems like something to be concerned about. What if someone wanted to use that against us?"

"It can't be done on something big. You might be able to do something small though, like conceal a bulge from a gun or something. Nothing that would make a difference though."

"... A gun wouldn't?"

"Against a heroic spirit? You may as well sling insults."

Ask her to do an enchantment on something for us. Tell her to go prepare whatever she needs, if she's willing. If she asks us exactly what it is, tell her, "It's nothing big. Like you said, I might as well insult a Servant if I want to do more harm. You didn't say anything about Masters, though. I'm sure they still bleed."

Dig through Dad's locker for a pistol harness. Tell her to make it and anything we put in it unseen. Yeah, we're not going to do any good against servants with it, but if we exhaust ourselves of magic, it's the best backup we have besides plot armor. We don't even have to keep it on us at all times, just whenever we're going out to face danger. Who knows, might prove invaluable for the vampire, whenever we get around to meeting them.
>>
>>23041808
This, yes.

Sure a gun is shit against Servants, but it'll kill a Magus dead if you surprise them with it. And even against a Servant if we exhaust our magic again, in a choice between fisticuffs and a gun, I'll take the gun.

Why would we use a gun at this point when it doesn`t do shit against anything in the war and our magical bow is much more effective?

A gun won`t kill vamps.
A gun won`t kill servants
And a gun sure as hell won`t kill Zouken, Kotomine or Souchiro that easily.

So why the fuck do you want to use guns at this point when the shit we have is much more effective?

There is NO ONE left in the fucking Grail War against whom a gun would be useful!
>>
>>23042058

There's Shinji!
>>
>>23042058

Well, there's Rin and Ilya.

Gun would work wonders there, even though we probably aren't going that route.
>>
>>23042058
Did you miss what JUST HAPPENED?
We ran out of mana. Which means no magic bow, no exploding swords, no reinforcing our body, NOTHING.
A gun WILL hurt (not kill, just hurt) just about anything, if it actually hits. Very few things are actually immune to mundane damage.
If it DOESN'T hit that generally means they dodged it, and every second they spend dodging is one they didn't spend ripping our limbs from our helpless torso.
>>
>>23042058
It would mostly be a last resort fallback, obviously. All of that other stuff gets used first.

Anywho, uh, are we on consensus on something? Are we going with Shirou being a goof?
>>
>>23042114
Also, when we do have mana, our magic bow can turn itself into a magic gun, with magic-ish bullets, that can hit anything. Conceptual weapon, remember?
>>
>>23042145
I don't think it works like that. If we're completely dry (like we were yesterday) it won't work, simple as that.

No, no it won`t hurt them, it won`t even distract them because they are fucking Servants. Beings made out of magic. The bullet will go straight through them like through thin air and do nothing, you fucking dolt.

Only conceptual weapons are actually able to hurt magical beings such as servants or True Ancestors.
>>
>>23042114
the second of surprise when we pull a gun and they weren't expecting it might provide an opening in a dire situation.
>>
>>23042145
The idea is that we're consistently fighting way above our weight class, so it isn't inconceivable that we'll burn through our mana reserves again at some point.

If that happens its better to have a projectile weapon on hand, however ineffective, than it is to try to punch out a vampire/servant/angry wizard with our mad kung-fu skills.

In combat, mere seconds can be the difference between life and death. Even if it won't kill them, surprise bullets could buy us enough time to survive.
>>

"Hey Rin. We haven't really had a chance to talk about it, but are you alright?"

"Eh? What do you mean?"

"First this business with Archer just up and going evil and stuff. Then the stuff from the last war coming up..... I mean, I know it sucks for me, but I wanted to make sure you were alright."

She's quiet for a long minute as I sit up and put an arm around her. "I think I'm alright, maybe. I don't know. There's just so much going on, I never really knew. Or maybe I knew and just chose to ignore it. I'm not sure which is worse."

I pull her in a little closer. "Hey. Maybe you messed up, and maybe you can't fix it. but you learned right? You're trying to make up for it?"

"... Yeah. Of course."

"Then that's all you can do. Look at Sakura. Look at where you were a couple weeks ago, compared to today."

She smiles. "Yeah, I guess you're right. Sorry. And about Archer. I think I know why he wants to kill you, I just-"

"It's fine. He already told me when we fought."

Rin blinks surprised. "... And you're what, alright with that? Fine with the situation?"

"It's literally the least confusing thing that's happened all week." I tell her. "I'll deal with it when it becomes important again. Right now we have vampires, a potential angry god, and two servants more powerful than our everything running around."

She nods, and decides to let me get back to sleep. Sadly, there's no conversation to continue as I drift back off.

I dream of the fire instead.

I wake up early, and I rise to find Sakura's already up and cooking. "How are you beating me up every morning?"

She smiles. "Sempai, I would always come here to help you cook and sometimes wake you up. I'm used to rising earlier."

It makes sense, I suppose.

I grab an apron and slip in behind her. Before long, breakfast is already mostly done. "Thanks Sempai."

"No problem. It's a lot of food to cook, and I don't have anything to do this exact moment." I smile at her. "Besides, it's nice doing something relatively normal. Cooking together is something I've gotten so used to doing it feels weird not doing it."

She blushes slightly and looks away. "Yeah, it's nice. Anyway, Nee-San said she would start teaching me a different style of magecraft when she has free time."

"You need to relearn?"

"Yeah. The Matou style was too reliant on the crest-worm, and went against my natural element."

"Really? What's your Element?"

"Something about Shadows or Imaginary Numbers. It lets me do weird things, according to Nee-san."

"Huh. I wonder what my Element is?"

"Sword." Rin answers as she crosses the room, disheveled and shuffling to the bathroom to wake up better.

It's a 192 kilogram BEAST, powered by a 588 cc liquid-cooled twin-rotor Wankel engine, putting out a peak 95 horsepower at 9,500 RPM, for a top speed of 233.355 kilometers per hour. And they're rare as FUCK, because they were only in production for a year.
>>

>>
AC-Guy just wanted me to tell you guys that his computer's acting weird.

>>
>>23042717
Not for the weight.

It's a ~200kg bike, with a 60-100kg person riding it. 300kg tops.

Now, take your average car, which weighs nearly a ton, plus the same additional weight fro driver, other superfulous shit in the trunk, etc, with 2-300hp, and the F1 has a far, far better HP/weight ratio.
>>
>>23042717
95 is extremely high for a 588cc engine actually. A 2010 Yamaha YZF-R1 has around 146 hp from a 998cc engine. Less than a 50% power increase, with nearly double the displacement, and a top speed only slightly higher at 284 km/h. The F1 is a Lightweight sport bike (admittedly on the heavy end of Lightweight, just barely short of a Middleweight), while the YZF-R1 is a Heavyweight.
And the F1 has this distinctive scream, like the shriek of the damned, that spits out from it's twin mufflers when it gets up around 6,000 RPM that is just beautiful to hear.
>>
>>23042830
Typo correction, slightly more than a 50% power increase.
>>
>>23042776
To give this comparison some numbers, a generation 2 Mazda RX-7 has from 146 (S4 naturally aspirated 13B engine) to 202 (S5 turbocharged 13B engine) horsepower, but weighs in somewhere between 1,191 kg, and 1,393 kg. Little over double the horsepower, but over five times the mass. The F1 is a little monster.

"You have a wish?"

Ah man, just when I caught up. I'm just gonna leave this here then.

>There's been a couple of mysterious disappearances in town, one of which happened near the site of the Matou house, the other behind the train station.
If this is the work of the vampire, it may be operating within an area with access to both sides of the river, based on the map. My personal hunch is the sewers where Gille performed those sacrifices.

Info is still sketchy though, so this might have to wait until more intel is gathered. Otherwise, raid any abandoned mansions or warehouses, or look for the most posh and extravagant VIP suite in this city. After all, those are the usual hangouts for vampires in movies, right?

>Kirei's made a few trips down to the docks, but he was unable to tell EXACTLY where he went.
He'd better not be stealing Kiritsugu's stash. Hopefully, he's just sailing off to the Vatican or wherever to make his report. And then Fuyuki City gets the Alimango Island treatment afterwards.

>Shinji spotted going into the woods near the temple, exact destination unknown.
A familiar might be enough for tracking purposes. Ask Rin for help on this. Or ask Sakura if she has any idea where Shinji usually hangs out.
And once he is found, interrogate him for info.

>Assassin spotted investigating various areas that when examined had markings like the one at the school.
More difficult to track. Might need to have a Servant on look out duty. Alternately, use Caster's scrying once she has a stable prana source.

The rest were pretty much resolved, but this bit...
>Consult Rin about pulling a magic artifact out of someone. I had Avalon originally in my timeline, but I'm thinking someone else has it right now.
... still might need to be addressed some more.
>>

- Ask Rider to go look for Berserker
- Ask Illya if there's any way to check on the Grail, see if the damage Avenger has caused is reversible. If we can confirm that getting a wish granted is either impossible or even just risky, we'll be able to convice Lancer's master to stop being paranoid.
- Heal Souichirou. We need to get Caster active again.

>>
>>23043635

>>
>>23043424
Alright, planning time.

First off, last night made it incredibly clear that we need a way to counter Gilgamesh. As it stands now he can pretty much just kick all our asses whenever he feels like it, and as long as he can do that we can't deal with Avenger either.
We've got two options on that front:

1. Reunite Saber with Avalon, thus allowing her to beat him senseless. This will have the secondary effect of (probably) healing Souichibro, thus freeing up Caster and scoring more don't-betray-us points with her.

2. Get Unlimited Blade Works online. Gil said it himself that if we can copy his entire armory we win, and UBW can do just that.

I'd say look for the Sheath first, so we can get Souichibro back on his feet. Once we exhaust all the leads in that department we should let Rin in on the fact that Archer showed us UBW, and that the only thing stopping us from pulling it off is insufficient mana.

Until we hit up both those things I don't really feel comfortable running off after anything else, since with Berserker gone the best we can hope if we encounter Gil again is Saber fighting him to a stalemate, and there is no guarantee Caster will even let her come with us if we decide to leave the house.

No. That's not how they work. That's not how they work AT ALL. It's one of those wonky connections that goes beyond the physical since, by default, a magus' body automatically rejects the prana of another.

I'm all for talking to Bestervant I mean Rider more, but the idea of someone else having Avalon intrigues me.

Eventually (let's give the girl a bit more time) we ought to ask Rin if there'd be any way for the Sheath to be split into pieces or at the very least shared through magic; my guess is that Avenger has part of it, having given Shirou the rest. It'd explain our (admittedly not as awesome) healing factor, our connection to Saber, and our connection with Avenger all at once.

Just my guess, but we'll see.

Also, we need to TELL PEOPLE not to interrupt our sleeping! How are we EVER going to get answers out of this guy if we can't finish our conversations!?

Just curious because my memory is a bit fuzzy, have we heard anything from Bazett?
Do we know she exists or might be Lancer's master, because we know Kotomine isn't and Bazett herself could either be a powerful ally or a serious bulwark against us, servant or no.
(And i remember reading somewhere that Bazett could counter the shit out of Shirou if they fought, which would make getting her on our side rather important.)
>>
>>23058643
Lancer hasn't said much about his Master, but signs point to it not being Kirei. But he did say that with all the weird shit going on, he or she doesn't trust us enough to meet with us directly.

Which we should probably call him out on. Either he/she starts showing his/her face and strategy-ing with us, or Lancer's out of the after-school club.
>>
>>23058643
All we know about Lancer's master is that lancer said in one of the first threads that his master is a coward.
>>
>>23058643
Bazett can counter the shit out of just about anyone short of Gil I think.

Not sure I think we've heard mention that Kirei was supposed to be helping someone from the clock tower but we've not heard any mention whatso ever about or from Bazett.
>>
>>23058643
I'm about 99% sure we don't know of her existence.

>And i remember reading somewhere that Bazett could counter the shit out of Shirou if they fought
She could probably beat his ass, yeah, as long as she was aware of his attacks. The easiest way to take her out would be a shot from outside her perception range. That is, of course, ignoring the possible Fragarach fight that could possibly happen.
>>
>>23058748
>Fragarach slap fight
It's like dividing by zero, man.
>>
>>23058643
The only clue we have about Lancer's master is that he/she is stingy with prana and money (This was mentioned when Shirou accidentally met Lancer during lunch) and that he/she/they were betrayed and is wary of meeting up with Shirou because of it.
>>
What would be some ways that we can store prana to consume later?
>>
>>23058754
Nah. That would be Gae Bolg (Heart-piercing version) vs Fragarach which ends in a mutual kill.

Fragarach vs Fragarach should go to whoever can pump out the most in the shortest amount of time.
>>
>>23058803
Bottleing our semen. I wish I was joking.
>>
>>23058859
That doesn't actually work. I already made a joke about "mana potions" earlier. It's not the fluid that's important, it's the metaphysical connection involved in sex.
>>
>>23058859
We've been over why that doesn't work, as amusing it would be.
>>
>>23058881
Uhh about that. It's mentioned in the novel that poor mages at the clock tower sell 'mana potions' to get more funding for their research. 'Sides if we drank our own we wouldn't have the problem of anothers prana trying to affect us since its our own spiritual signature.

Also I thought a possible master would've been that Eldvelt chick, y'know the blond haired version of Rin who knows wrestling?
>>
>>23058881
Then clearly what we need to do to store up prana would be to have our harem help us out with mana transfers.

...Or Rin teaches us how to store our prana in jewels, and we make custom sword-shaped jewels. Or cheat and project the Jeweled Sword.

>>
>>23058964
>cheat and project the Jeweled Sword.
"Hello Master. How are you? Fantastic. Does Saber look as handsome as me? No. Look to the right. Now back to me." Archer was now holding an oyster. He opened it to reveal the ruby pendant Rin had lost last night. It still glowed with the great amount of prana stored within it. Thanks to her losing it last night, she had wound up with the Heroic Spirit in front of her. "I've got an oyster with that thing you always loved."
Rin opened her mouth to speak, but Archer thrust the pendant into her hands. In the split second she glanced down at it, a golden light blazed in her room. She glanced back up and suddenly the white haired man was clenching onto a bejeweled dagger that glowed with all the lights of a rainbow.
"Look again, the oyster is now a Jeweled Sword!" The red coated man smugly crossed his arms in front of him. "Anything is possible when your man smells like steel and smoke, and not like a lady."
"…what." Rin gave Archer a dead man's stare. The man merely grinned as their surroundings suddenly shifted in a wave of heat. A vast wasteland filled with countless swords, both priceless and mundane, stabbed deep into the cracked brown earth. High above the sky, towering gears spun as they ground together.
"We're in a reality marble." Archer concluded.
>>

Do you mean when he was using Structural Analysis? Because he never used projection until the Grail War.

I don't want to sound condescending or anything but you guys do know the difference between normal projection and Shirou's tracing, right?
>>
>>23060753
I meant when he ended up creating the shells of appliances foun by Saber and Rin in his shed.
>>
>>23060753
Ah, okay, now I see where I goofed. I've been using tracing and projecting interchangeably, although I probably shouldn't.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but normal projection is what makes the hollow objects that disappear when the caster stop concentrating on them. Shirou's tracing recreates the object in some 7-8 step process that includes the history and what the weapon experienced.

- Talk to Rider (why exactly i'm not sure).

Shirou: Rin, I want to be an Hour man. Any tips?
Rin: *spits tea everywhere* Wha-wha-what are you asking, idiot?
Shirou: Uh, Mana? I'm running dry every five minutes when I project. Was wondering if there was anything I could do to last longer.

>>23062426

I think the operative problem with Shinji is twofold:
First, that he has nothing to lose, and second, that he'd shown to pretty much be willing to do anything (or anyone) to get what he wants.

If he's shacked up with a Vampire, then we're in serious trouble if only because he's entirely capable of pulling some utterly insane shit without any compunctions about it.

If he HAS shacked up with the Vampire, then we need to deal with him sooner rather than later, since Vamps only get stronger the longer you leave them alone.

"Alright, first order of business." I begin, as everyone sits around the table. "Anybody have something new to bring to the table?"

"I found a couple of weird missing person's cases." Arcueid comments. "Nothing like what I'd expect to find with Vampires, but potentially connected."

"Alright, so I've got a question." Lancer asks from across the table. "Since my Master kinda freaked out when they learned who you are, I feel an obligation to ask. We've only found a couple of things that point vaguely in the direction of 'Vampire'. Are you actually sure it's a vampire?"

"Honestly? If I hadn't encountered a couple of their undead drones I wouldn't think there was." She sighs. "But I also have this connection with the world. I can 'feel' a wrongness to an area or a place when Vampires are overstepping their bounds and affecting things too greatly. And here, it's not just a nagging feeling on my senses. It's every instinct I have screaming at me about an overwhelming threat of evil I apparently can't perceptive. Normally a Vampire's presence would be like a candle in the dark. This is like a light-show visible from space."

"Well that's mildly disconcerting." I comment from my seat. "And you've got no real leads to work with?" She shakes her head in response. "I might have one, kinda. Apparently Shinji's been spotted running around a couple of times in or near the woods by the temple. I'm kinda curious and concerned as to what he might be doing."

"It's possible he's hiding out from the War." Saber comments. "I sensed it before in that the woods around the temple have a very potent anti-spirit boundary placed around them. He could simply have decided to go camping somewhere he knew no Servant or Master could find or search for him."

"Possible." Rin comments. "But his last conversation with Shirou worries me. He said something about 'getting what he wants' from life, which seems to involve nothing but magecraft and women."
>>
>>23062984
AC-Guy is cursed with D-- rank luck his internet probably betrayed him again
>>
>>23063027

"And his actions with both are... questionable at best." I finish. "Any suggestions about what we can do there?"

"Well with that potent of a spirit barrier, then I'm not sure we could do anything other than wait for him to come out of the woods." Rider answers with a shrug. "we can't really afford to put anyone ON that, can we?"

"I can relocate a couple of familiars to look for him, but that might be it for now, unless you wanted to chase after him." Rin answers, looking at me.

"Maybe it won't come to that." I respond. "We'll see. Anyone else have something to contribute?"

Lancer mentions something about Zouken apparently investigating the marks as well, but other than that no big news other than Berserker to share. It gets mixed reactions, Arcueid nodding as if it was only natural, Lancer and Caster showing a measure of concern. Knowing how strong Berserker was, they note obvious concern for the fact that they both never saw his full power, and that he apparently STILL lost.

"Also, anybody have any idea why Kirei might be running off to the docks?"

".... No?" Rider not quite asks. "Are you suspicious of him or something?"

"I'm not sure. Maybe. My thing was more what he was doing down there. I mean, the only reason I could see was if it was connected to either the Grail War or the Vampire. But if it was the latter, why would he not tell us about a possible lead? And if it's the former, he's more of a Referee than anything. Why's he getting more involved or being secretive about it?"

Lancer shrugs. "I'll look into it. I was going to head that way anyway." He stands up from the table, having finished his meal. "If I find something unusual, I'll let you know."

Arcueid passes along a number for a Cell-Phone and then tells me that Shiki was upset with her for calling in what was apparently the middle of the night in France to share the 'new phone' news. She then wanders off, saying that she was going to the Forest to see if Berserker died or not, since she apparently feels she would be able to tell.

As everyone goes their separate ways, I pause to talk to Rin as she helps me clean up after Breakfast. "Any progress on trying to find the sheath?"

She shakes her head. "I don't looking at either of you will help us find it. When I tried to divine it's location and nature through Saber, all I got were a few vague memories. My visions on your side were even less helpful, just a glimpse of a fire and her summoning. when I tried mixing the blood, all I could divine from that was a clear view of what your hypothetical children would look like."

".... Really?"

She shrugs. "What? That's what kids are, mixed genetics between two people. I could probably do the same between any man and woman, I just didn't know that's what the result of using those spells on that kind of mixed blood sample would cause."

"Alright, what about Mana transfers? Is that something two people can do?"
>>
>>23063247

"... Well yes, but it depends on the method you're referring to. One time transfusions can be done with some sort of medium. A Jewel like I use would work, or blood. Of course, the more compatible the two people are, the more likely the success. you could also make some sort of Magical bond to make the flow more effective."

"Like the bonding of a Servant?"

"Kinda. Servants are Ghosts designed to do that though, linking humans is trickier. Swapping blood or some form of ritualized or intimate contact would smooth the process and strengthen the bond, but it also complicates the process."

"Intimate contact?" I ask. "Like a kiss or something? We could make a contract like that?"

"... Yes." She responds blushing. "But that's not exactly as.... involved. Making a contract like that wouldn't have any real benefit than us just saying the words and making a pact."

"So what, the more intimate the stronger the bond?"

"Basically, yes." She answers. I try to get her to clarify, but she instead goes to find Sakura to begin her Magic lessons.

Not the guy you are replying to but..

Wellllll. She`s a homunculus. Homunculi, especially Einzbern Homunculi can store CUHRAZY levels of mana because they are basically made out of Magic Circuits. Despite Rin probably being the better mage than Ilya, Ilya can generate and store 6 or 7 times more prana than Rin. Sakura`s body is somewhat similiar to that, since it was modified heavily through experiments and worms.

From a completly methodical point of view if we want to get the most out of a manatransfer bonking Ilya or Wormslut would be the best idea.

Work on the bike.

Actually, that's a good idea (sexual nonsense aside). A blood-exchange contract with Illya might be what we need:

1) She has no contracts right now.
2) She has an absurdly immense supply of mana, which we have great need of.
3) It could symbolically officialize our sibling relationship.

So: [x]Pursue non-sexual contract with Illya

These are good ideas. Non-sexytimes contract might be a way for us to get out UBW on.

That said, if it's going to damage Ilya or shorten her lifespan for whatever reason, there's no fucking way we're doing that shit.

Also, other order of business: Saber.
When we heal Souichibro, and Caster can release Saber, we've established we can't take her back. So, why not give Rin Saber, a la UBW route, since Rider's going back to Sakura ASAP. Plus, Saber's stronger with Rin's greater Mage skill/powerlevel.

win/win, since we're all on the same side anyway now.

"Hey Ilya, I wanted to initiate a manatansfer between u-..."

I am ok with this.

Scratch that. Make it happen.
>>
>>23063627

Worth noting, also.

Berserker cut their contract because he thought the Mad Enhancement would be too much of a drain on Ilya.

ILYA. Who is set up to be the vessel for the grail. And is made pretty much entirely out of Magic Circuits.

Too much of a drain.

Bahsakah strong.

I'm voting for Illya blood relation and fixing the bike.

Also, let's try to sleep properly tonight. Maybe then we will finally get the message of that fucker.

I regret nothing.

I cannot emphasis the non enough.

Also,
[x] Fix the damn bike

>[ ] Talk to Ilya.
Mention that Avenger wanted the Einzbern's knowledge of the Grail as well as Ilya herself for some unknown purpose.
Ask her about Shirou's problems with low prana capacity and see if she can help with that.

>[ ] Talk to Sakura
Kinda too late for this, but I want to call out Sakura on waking up really early to make breakfast.
Ask if she had any weird dreams involving Shirou and/or Servants again.

>[ ] Talk to Saber
Ask her if she can pull the sword that Rin detected out of Shirou's body.
Alternatively, spar with her using those spanking new weapons copied from Gil.

I would add talk to Rider or Caster, but relevant topics of conversation elude me at the moment.
Choices are personally prioritized from highest to lowest.

...As long we aren't using a spear whose wounds will not heal or something, that should be ok.

Being as a lot of those weapons have silly super-powers that we're probably not 100% on...
This sounds like a really bad idea.

Okay, good point. Is there any way to dud the lethal effects then? I'm just thinking of having Shirou get a feel for them in actual combat instead of relying on just throwing them against stationary targets.

In any case, it might be a moot point since I did say this choice is low priority. I'm on-board with the Ilya bandwagon at the moment.

I'd say testing the weapon first is a better idea.
Sparring shouldn't be done with live weaponry.

Although I like having Illy help us with our prana problems in a non-sexual manner and giving Saber to Rin, I think there's a better way to go about this.

How about we give the Servant with the Anti-fortress Noble Phantasm that consumes a fuckton of prana to the little loli that's made of magic? While we're doing that, why not have Rin give us prana like in UBW? Saber become much stronger than she is in canon and would be able to Excaliblast left and right with Ilya giving her so much prana. And with Rin, seeing as she no longer has to support a Servant once we give Rider back to Sakura, Rin would have more Prana that she could give us once we've had some time for a Mana Transfer.
>>
>>23067314
So, basically, you want us to fuck Rin at all costs?
>>
>>23067340
My main concern was giving the strongest Servant to the strongest master. Although now that I think about it, Ilya could probably support Saber and give us prana in a non-sexual way without much issue.
