>Let's get started shall we?

You relive the nightmare again. You can hear the screams of the men you served alongside, the deep bass of gauss shots, the inhuman screeching of the Hive. You are running, dodging obstacles as you make your way through the corridors of the doomed colony ship. You can see the running form of Hudson in front of you. You see him disappear as Warriors pierce the metal grating below his feet and drag him under, unmindful of the screams of their prey. You stand at the edge of the maw that Hudson disappeared into, cradling your M2350 Gauss Magnum in your right hand, the other cradling your combat knife to your chest. You can hear the Hive approaching, both with your ears and your mind. Your Psionic senses can pick up the Warriors as they scuttle beneath the deckplating, the Stalkers as they creep unseen through the halls and the Queen as she directs all of it. The blades of the Warriors arms rend the metal of the walls as they push their way through, trying to get to their prey: you.

The corridor is dim, light only by the white emergency strips overhead. It continues down to a cross section where another corridor intersects it. The current path terminates into the large gap where the Hive Warriors ambushed Hudson. Behind you you can hear scuttling. The HUD of your armor tells you that you are approximately 200 meters from the closest escape pod.

You walk backwards a few meters and begin to sprint towards the gap. As you approach the edge, you push off with your legs, using the myomer bundles in your suit's legs to boost your jump. The opposite edge of the gap rushes at you and for a moment you think you won't make it. But your suit thrusters engage just long enough to boost you up and over the lip of the chasm. You hit the ground hard, roll, and are up and running in under a second. Just in time for a Warrior to slice its way through the wall you are standing next to. The creature, seven feet of gleaming black carapace and blades, screeches at you as it prepares to strike.

You raise your Magnum just as the Warrior slashes across your chest with its left claw. Your armor takes the brunt of the swipe but the diamond hard blade scores a heavy line across the front of your breastplate as the force of the blow slams you into the opposite wall, knocking the knife from your hand. The Warrior raises its other claw to remove your head from you shoulders, when

>100

your Magnum comes up and lets loose two magnetically accelerated depleted uranium rounds. The Warrior staggers back as the shots pierce its thick hide, caught by surprise. You stagger to your feet and let loose a pulse of force that that knocks the creature back. You raise a fist and concentrate and a glowing blue ball of energy forms around it. You step forward as the Warrior leaps up and slam your fist into the beast. The force cracks its carapace and sends it flying backward as green luminescent blood splatters across the walls.

Suddenly, you’re tired, very tired. The Psypunch had taken more out of you than you thought. Your vision flickers and you drop to one knee. The floor is tilting for some reason and all of a sudden you find yourself on your side. Your head hurts. A lot.

Get up. You have to get up, otherwise you're dead.

You're woozy, but conscious. You stumble slightly, bracing yourself against the wall. Carefully, you grip the Magnum in both hands, steadying yourself, you stumble down the corridor, moving as fast as you can. You can't sense much around you, just a fuzzy static that weighs down your mind, but something tells you to move faster. There's something more dangerous here than the grunts you've been fighting till now.

Turning down the corner towards the escape pods, you freeze as you see it. It stands in front of the escape pods, just down the hall, nine spindly feet of muscle and spine. Suspended in, a psychic field is Lieutenant Parker, the squad medic. You can feel the creature rooting through her mind. You can taste Parker's fear and despair as her most sacred of places is violated.

The creature turns its head to look at you. Its insectile face, reminiscent of a praying mantis, seems to wear an impassive expression. It calmly tears Parker's head from her shoulders with a mental flick and swivels its entire body to face you.

>>
>There are few things more distracting than male strippers...
>Also, food.

You raise your Magnum again and pop off a shot. The slug speeds forward with a heavy thoom and plinks harmlessly off of the Psionic shield that envelops the monster. You fire twice more, the shots rebounding off of the shield once again.

The monster raises a hand and you sense the disturbance in the air too late to dodge, and the psionically compressed air slams into you with enough force to cause the wall you slam into to deform. You slide to the ground, stunned. The Magnum was knocked away by the air blast. Your body aches, but you try to stand up. But you can't. A nimbus of purplish energy surrounds yourframe, halting your motion. You can't move, however much you strain.

Suddenly, the monster is there, standing over you. You tense for the final blow, but it only stares down at you, with an almost puzzled expression on its face. It cocks its head, as though it's listening to something far away, then grasps you between its spindly fingers and picks you up as easily as one would carry a child. It runs down the hallways, away from the escape pods, and your salvation.

The memories blur and suddenly, you’re lying in a massive, domed room. The ceiling is clear and outside you can see the vastness of space. Around you, are eggs, growing from the biomass that covered the walls. You must be in one of the colony ships agridomes. Strangely, you are unbound.

You stumble to your feet, checking the seals on your helmet. Still secure, thankfully, considering the fact that the air around you is full of spores and other disgusting biological particulates. Gooey resins of some kind stick to your armor, making movement arduous and inconvenient.

Around you, strange biomass structures grow out of the ground, twisting the once pristine biodome into a mockery of its previous self. The growths make the terrain hard to navigate as you walk towards the closest cluster of eggs. The ovoid structures have a membranous yellow exterior, through which you can see the alien fetuses twirling in their prenatal slumber.

You are about to raise your fist and smash one of the eggs when you hear the sound of something absolutely massive moving behind you. You whirl around and behold The Queen.

Easily fifty feet from head to oviposter, the creature stared at you with inhumanly intelligent eyes. The air around you begins to vibrate and slowly, you find yourself being lifted into the air. You drift towards the Queen and, despite your struggles, you cannot escape the psychic bonds.

You push the edges of the psychic hold as much as you can. The bonds loosen ever so slightly, but not enough to facilitate any kind of escape. You sag in the grip of the Queen as you are suspended before her only able to watch helplessly as a single antenna bends forward to touch your forehead.

The pain is unbearable. Your mind felt like it was being torn asunder as new images and feelings were forced into it. You were a Stalker creeping behind an unwary Marine, ready to tear her head off. A Nurturer, tending to the young of the Hive. A Warrior, shredding through the hull of a shuttle to get to the humans within. A Machestro, mind controlling hapless Marines, forcing them to slaughter their friends.

You were The Queen, overseeing it all, directing the Hive like some mad conductor.

JOIN US. A voice amidst the chaos. JOIN THE SWARM. It commanded. JOIN OUR CHOIR. BECOME ONE OF US

It echoes, forcing your mind to bend, to supplicate.

>AW SHIT!

No. No you would not join the Swarm. You would not cede your mind to this unfeeling maelstrom, you would not give up your identity. You would not stop being human.

And you struck back, with everything you had. Slamming into the Queen’s mind again and again. The Queen was young, she had never faced such an assault before. She struggled to defend against it but you were too relentless, too desperate. You smashed through her defenses like a ram and into the mind that lay within. You tore and tore the connections throughout the Swarm, killing hundreds in your blind panic. The Queen fought back, pushing you out, forcing you to your mental knees before being blown back by your pure fury and desperation.

You struck out reletlessly, unceasing in your assault. The Queen herself was no more, rendered mindless from your fury.

But the Hive was bound by a careful mental web, one in which the Queen was key. But the Queen was gone, and the Psionic network needed something to hold her place. So it immediately latched onto the closest Psychic being: You.

The web forced itself into your brain and pulled your consciousness apart. Then it put it back together, stranger, more alien. But you did not fit the niche needed. So the massive network collapsed upon itself. Psychic wires materialized in realspace and cut into the ship, slowly crushing it. The ship resisted, briefly, before it was consumed whole by the Psionic maelstrom erupting from its center.

Where were you? Within the Eye of that storm. Carried safely through the Chaos.

You are floating in the darkness once again. The nightmare over. But it will return. It always returns. You cannot escape it, you cannot hold it off. You cannot see, you cannot hear, you cannot feel. But you will live that nightmare over and over.

But something has changed. You slowly, ever so slowly, begin to perceive. Something right at the edge of the consciousness. There are flashes, of an endless void, of sleek ships cutting through the night. You reach out and…

You are awake. You standing are in a clean room with a white and blue plastic aesthetique, all curves and planes. Along the walls, instruments beep and wires crawl. They lead to a massive cylindrical container in the middle of the room, through which you can see a human body floating in green fluid. Wires and tubes of many kinds are hooked into its mangled form and a large mask covers its face. No arms of legs are visible and the entire surface appears to be covered in scar tissue.

You walk over to the tube and inspect the figure inside. It's not much more than a head and a torso. The scar tissue has covered the entire body and eroded any distinguishing features. You can't even tell if it's male or female. The mask has covered the entire head and several tubes feed various fluids into the body.

Turning back to the door you stride over and attempt to touch the holo-lock. No hand comes forward to interact with the device.

You look at yourself for the first time and find, to your shock, that you do not have a body. You are able to see the floor under you but no physical form exists for your consciousness. You briefly remember a tidbit of information about catatonic Psions ejecting their minds from their bodies in order to still perceive the world around them. But that fact is washed away by a truly horrifiying realization. The body floating in the tube is you.

You hear movement behind you, and you spin around to look. Two tall, spindly figures stride into the room, covered head to toe in white plastic plates, molded to fit their lanky frames. Bulbous heads, covered by white and blue helmets are turned towards each other as they converse. Sophons, you realize, one of the most secretive races in the galaxy, absolutely dedicated to furthering the cause of science.

The whining sound of the Sophon dialect was replaced by a young and excited human voice courtesy of your translator implant. They walk towards you, unmindful of your presence.

“I’m not entirely comfortable with using those new biomods upon our friend here.” You hear the Other Sophon say, its voice deeper and more serious. “It could have unusual effects and we can’t afford it dying. The Board of Directors wants to question it based on the unusual circumstances we recovered it under.”

“Oh?” The young Sophon queried. “I was not informed of the entire scenario.”

The older Sophon sighed. “We found the remnants of an older colony ship that the humans sometimes use. The entire thing had been destroyed but what we found in the wreckage was disturbing to say the least.”

The older Sophon walked closer to your tank and looked up at your body. “Remnants of an Icorani Hive.”

The young sophon behind him stiffened. “But Jorcos, the Icorani are extinct!”

>Fuck, forgot trip

You feel frustrated at your situation, and immediately try to communicate with the two scientists in some manner. You concentrate, focusing your thoughts onto the younger, more excitable one. You get nothing in response. That's strange. Being a psion gives you many abilities, but one that you always had was the ability to sense other people's presences. But you don't sense anything from these two aliens. It's like they aren't even there.

The two Sophons continue their conversation unmolested.

“They are now,” Jorcos muttered. “We found the body of the Queen in an agridome and this human nearby. The truly disturbing factor though, was the sheer amount of Psionic residue in the area and the fact that this human was alive. We believe the human killed the Queen with its mind but we are not entirely sure. If it did, then we must find out how. That is why you must not endanger its life Fargos, we need it alive”

Fargos nodded. “I understand Jorcos. But without the use of some gene-patches and synthetic replacements, it’s likely it will never achieve consciousness again.”

Jorcos paused for a moment, then nodded. “Very well, I authorize the usage of Tier 1 technology to resuscitate the human. Requisition whatever you need.”

Fargos straightened up immediately and gave a smart salute. “I’ll do my very best sir.”

Jorcos seemed to smile through his helmet. “I’m sure you will.”

He then fished inside a pouch on his belt. “We found these on the human as well.” You see the charred forms of your dogtags held in his hand. You lean closer to take a look:

>I need a Name, Gender and Blood Type (Yes, that's important)

the more letters and +'s means you can take more, not give more.

O- is donor, AB+ is universal reciever.

>You are not the Last Human
>You are a Psion
>It is the year 2557 (When you last checked.)
>Humanity has expanded beyond the Sol System.
>However, they have discovered they are only one among thousands in their galaxy.
>Humans also found themselves in and interesting situation: The Star Nemesis likes to fuck with our Solar System's Helipause. This creates a strange damping effect that reduces the efficiency of most power generation techniques and effectively prevents FTL within the Sol System. As a result, humanity developed some of the most efficient technology in the Galaxy as well as a new kind of FTL.
>This has resulted in several wars, all of which Humanity won but barely.

I'm taking votes for this one.

Gender: Male, apparently
Blood Type: AB+, apparently

Current Names: Fredrich Ironnail, Adam Edwards, Alexander Freeman, Erik Sanderson, Casval Rem Deikun, Asdrubael Vect, Kylan Arvus.

I'm partial to Kylan Arvus myself. But it's a vote.

I kinda like Pariah Quest...

This.

Unless I get 100 then Asdrubael Vect and he has demi-god DNA
>>
>>23058800
Hmm, I'd have a hard time running with that.

Kylan Arvus is in the Lead.

Lieutanant Kylan Arvus
>>
>>23058840
So Edwards is the scientific part of our mind, Ironnail the warrior/badass part, Freeman is our liberal thinking, Deikun is a count/royalty, Vect is our hatred and sadism coming to the fore, and Ive got nothing for Erick, though if Kylan Arvus is the lead, then he is our "base" personality

I see Kylan Arvus has taken the lead but I'll keep the MPD idea around. I might be able to segue it in somewhere.

BTW Psions are considered the next stage in human evolution. As a result, the gov't goes out of their way to train them.
>>
>>23059043
easy answer
Kylan Arvus is the main dominant personality
>>
>>23059089
This!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! also MPD could also be a result of the other humans being absorbed during the psionic explosion
