(please note that this may be a bit slow to update)

After ten days of sailing, you’ve finally got your feet on solid ground and DAMN does it feel good. Well, rather, you don’t feel like throwing up anymore, which is a definite improvement. Ridiculous as it sounds, you’ve never had sea legs, and this voyage has shown that you won’t be getting them anytime soon…

But hey, that’s all behind you now. You’re on the outskirts of the imperial city of Solitude, where your new life starts… all that nasty business with your tribe and Iron-Hide are hundreds of miles away. Speaking of “new life”, it’s probably a good idea to assume a new alias, hmm? Just as a precaution, of course. One of those nice “imperial-translated” names that flow from one word to the next, like “swims-swiftly” or “hides-in-the-shadows” or something. You’ll probably get more human friends if you have a name they can actually pronounce, right?

>NAME THYSELF

Okay, fine, there’s no sense in lying to oneself anyway. The REAL reason you don’t want people to call you by your given name anymore is because you’re paranoid that any traces of your past life will let Iron-Hide or Rolen track you down and slit your throat, and to be honest you very much like your throat as it is.

>>23116940
Ah, your “specialties”. Or rather, everything you could salvage from a burning hut within 30 seconds before it collapsed from fire damage and nearly killed you. Your life possessions have been reduced to:
-35 septims (all you could gather)
-An assorted set of lockpicks you found on the ship (probably belonged to Voldsea, not that you care)
-A VERY rusty dagger (also found on the ship)
-Two garnets
-A netchleather-bound complete signed collector’s edition of the lusty arg… uhm… some“light reading”
Oh, and hidden on your person are three vials of hist sap, for emergencies.

Anyway, the dock is attached to a little path that curves around the city walls and connects to the main bridge. There’s a small door into the city near the docks that’s guarded by a man dressed in leather armor layered with a blue sash. Other Argonians are sluggishly moving about, loading and unloading cargo from other ships.
>>
>>23117816
Go into Solitude proper. Sell the two garnets, the 'light reading', and the rusty dagger for all you can. Buy a new dagger, then go looking for work at the tavern.

There's no way in hell you're getting back on a boat. Voldsea lied, sailing is NOTHING like swimming, the ship constantly throws you side to side and you can't orient yourself at all... anyway, If you can't find a job inside the city, you decide that working on the docks will be your backup. It seems simple enough; it's just lifting things back and forth, right? Plus, you'll be able to socialize with more of your kin, although these northern argonians do seem a bit... off. You can't quite put your finger on what it is, though.

As you pass the female argonian onshore you greet her in Jel, but rather than respond she tilts her head and makes a funny face. You feel embarrased for some reason, so you quickly continue past her and walk up the stairs to where the guard is standing. You deduce from his enormous height and smell of alcohol that he's probably a nord.

The guard's blocking your way to the door. You stand there a bit, waiting for him to move, but he just remains still, staring at you though the helmet's dark, soulless eyeholes. There's no way nords are THIS dumb... maybe this is a human culture thing? Lets try acting human-ey.

You bare your teeth into a "smile" and move your open hand forwards to initiate "the handshake". "Hello!" you say loudly, "My name is Dulku- uh, Steelscale. I've travelled quite a distance to-"

>"Do I look like I care about your damn life story, Lizard?" He suddenly interrupts.

This outburst catches you off guard a bit, but you quickly stutter out "Oh, Uh... I'm sorry to waste your time, it's just that I'm trying to enter the city-"

>"Did you hit your head or something? The city's still off limits to scum like you."

"What? Why?" you ask.

>"I don't need a damned reason," The guard says plainly, "get lost."

...this is going well.
>>
>>23119247
I turn around and my tail 'accidentally' brushes against his groin, making him feel uncomfortable as I walk away.

After that I run to catch up with the Argonian chick and try to get her attention again.
>>
>>23119247
Is that you, Guoh?
'nyways, I'm starting to think this is a terrible idea, if we just let the nords boss us around and cage us up in the docks. We'll be stuck there forever with nowhere to go. Gotta figure out some definite out-of-the-box goal, instead of just taking up whatever they offer.

Yeah, that seems reasonable. You could probably clear things up from before, too.
You half-heartedly thank the guard for his time and walk away from that asshole. The guard turns his head and spits, but since he’s wearing a full helm it starts dribbling down the inside of the helmet. He looks around, then stands up straight and plays it off like he meant to do that. Are all nords like this? Maybe you should have fled elsewhere... or perhaps to valenwood, since khajiit are kind of scary.

You walk around a bit to regain some courage, and then approach the female argonian you briefly “chatted” with earlier. At the moment she’s preparing a large animal hide for tanning.

“uhm… hey,” you finally stutter out in cyrodillic. It feels really weird to talk in human tongue to her. “Sorry about earlier, I just figured every argonian knew Jel. My name is Steelscale. I’m, ah, new around here”.

>“hah, that’s apparent!” she laughs. “I’m Hathei. Are you from the homeland?”

“yes.” you nod, then motion back to the guard who’s currently picking his nose. “I see the natives are quite the charmers.”

>“Oh, yes, sorry about that” she replies sheepishly. “I was going to warn you earlier but you ran off. Windhelm’s guards are harsh on anyone who’s not a nord, but at least they only insult us.” She looks a bit worried. “I hear a lot of them act out physically on the dunmer in the grey quarter.”

You scratch your head. “Why are the guards so violent? And… hey, wait a minute, this isn’t Solitude?”

> She blinks, then stares at you. “Solitude? Oh heavens no. You’d be much better off in solitude. This is Windhelm. You’re a good few days journey east of solitude.” She turns to face you. ”Anyway, as for the guards, back when Ulfric was still jarl they were all worked up over ‘Skyrim for the nords’ and whatnot. When the war ended and Ulfric was executed, a few of us were in high hopes that the mistreatment would stop. Technically it should have, as imperial rule bans blatant discrimination, but they’re so busy with rebuilding and politics that no one’s even considered addressing the issue. so the guards can just keep doing whatever they darn well please to do.” She sighs. ”Windhelm’ll never change, I fear.”

>>23129061
“Since I can’t enter the city, are there any merchants outside the walls that I can barter with?” you ask, “or are they all bigoted as well”?

>Hathei nods. “yes, there’s a khajiit caravan parked at the end of the bridge connected to the main gate”, she points to the bridge you saw earlier. “They’ll buy and sell almost anything to anyone. It’s really only ex-stormcloaks that are cranky, thankfully”, she sighs.

Bartering with khajiit? It’s true, cat merchants have the highest quality inventory, but they’ll always try to swindle you if you’re not paying close attention... okay, fine. You’ll walk by, sell the gems to them, and get away from them before they try anything funny.

“Thank you”, you say, bowing your head slightly. Hathei smiles and turns back to her work. As you’re walking away, you realize what’s so weird about this argonian…

“Oh, uhm, before I go”, you say, “Sorry to bring this up again, but your name is in Jel, yet you can’t speak Jel? How is this so?”

>”I’m second generation”, she cheerfully says. “Most of us on the docks are. Our parents came from the homeland and, well, never went back. They never taught us Jel because, well, it’s not very useful in the north.”

“They never TAUGHT you?” you say, a look of horror on your face. “But… b-but our culture… t-then how do you communicate with the Hist?”

Well, this is an unpleasant surprise. See if we can get a half-decent bow and some arrows from the Khajiit, then set our aim for Solitude proper. We can adventure our way across the holds and maybe earn some nice loot (and cash!) from looting any convenient ruins or bandit camps we come across..
>>
>>23131272

Well, that was a shame, a shame indeed. But she is but a poor working Argonian. She has her life to tend to, and you have yours. She could be of use in helping you barter with the Kahjit, being local and such, but she would most likely not have time for that.

Except I sense romance opportunity. Perhaps give her lessons in talking to the Hist in return for her helping you.

"Do you... perhaps know these Khajit traders? Are there anyone particulary bad I need to watch out for?"

If not wanting to help, get to it! So little time, so much to do. Perhaps the Khajits have a bow!

Yes, yes you have. Go find the khajiit, get yourself a bow, and go wander west. There's a farm there, maybe the owners won't be bigoted/dead/burned by dragons.
Maybe go looking for a cave that isn't full of bear, in case the dragonborn dropped anything you can sell while he was romping through there years back.

The hist has been a part of you since your birth, the hist is what gave you your soul! If you were to die this far away from this hist there’s no way your soul would find its way back, you’d be cursed to wander this frozen tundra as a ghost until THE END OF FREAKIN TIME ITSELF.

Yeah.
Yeah that’s right. Freaking out won’t accomplish anything. This isn’t some impossible task, it’s been done before… though getting used to this place is going to be the worst couple of months of your life. But goddamn it you’ll do it.

>>23132953
>ration what little hist we currently have so we don't go cold turkey and can get ourselves off of hist

It’s not just the sap itself that you’re “hooked” on. The sap is a substance that attunes the consumer to the power of the hist trees, and allows these deities to guide or manipulate the individual to their will. No, the part that’ll take some getting used to is the void where the hist once was; in the black marsh, it’s always a part of one’s mind, but here… there’s nothing. Only you. And that thought terrifies you.

>>23132729

Alright, it’s settled. We originally planned to go to Solitude anyway, right? Well let’s go through with it. We don’t exactly have anything else to do, anyway.
>>
>>23134018

Take a deep breath and reflect on our stunning good looks.
>>
>>23134018

You're just the creative efforts of a good artist with free time taking suggestions from a collection of random strangers. You didn't technically exist on this level until a day ago.

Relax, find the crazy cat people, get a bow, get some arrows, get trail mix for Argonians, and make your way to Solitude without attracting unwanted Nordic attention.

Hum http://youtu.be/lkUMdrEGCfs along the way too.
>>
>>23134018
Why don't you go talk with the cats for some rumors, and then the stables for some work! If anything, check out the surrounding farms for some honest work!
>>
>>23134018
And with a bow we can hunt for ourselves, keep fed, and have a nice pile of stuff we can sell when we arrive!
>>
>>23134254

Provided we know how to skin things.
>>
>>23134018

Maybe there's a wagon on which we can hitch a ride to a more friendly hold. We might have to pawn off some of our stuff to afford passage, but it's surely safer than wandering about in the snowy surroundings with only a vague idea of where to go.

With what little composure you have left you utter out a weak “thanks” and walk away from Hathei. She seemed nice, despite being a cultureless abomination more man than saxhleel. Anyway, you continue along the riverside until you reach the city’s main entrance, then take a left and begin walking across the stone bridge arching over the river.

>>23134298
When you live in a territory as dangerous and unforgiving as the black marsh, you either pick up basic survival skills or you’re devoured by a swarm of fleshflies. After much deliberation, you chose the former. You’re no expert, yeah, and most of your survival ‘crafts’ are incredibly low quality, but hey, it works. Uhm... usually.

The bridge is long, and it takes several minutes to reach the end, but the experience is actually a bit pleasant. You quietly gaze at the serene beauty of the mountains, the river, the trees, and soon you start to feel a bit more optimistic of your journey.

There was truth in Hathei’s words, and soon enough you see a small encampment at the end of the bridge next to a crooked signpost. A tent that appears to have been made from animal hides literally piled on top of one another and rests alongside a small cliff. Nearby, a large campfire viciously burns, and several animal hides are hung up for tanning. Inside the shoddily-made tent a lone khajiit sits with its eyes closed, motionless. Quite a bit down the road you can see a stationary carriage drawn by two horses. It has the words “CHEEP TRAVL” painted in bright yellow on the side, and a somewhat fat man (presumably the driver) is lying belly up with a book over his face.

Keep a steady eye on your valuables. After entering Khajit tent, pickpockets might be cunning, stealthy or both. You are a thief, stealscale, you know how these things work.
Try to look for a bow, and / or travel. But make sure to exchange valuables for -septims-, and not just a travel. You don't want to be left with no money, no valuables and no weapon when you get to where you want.

Optimally, ask for work. Impress them by showing off your own thief skills. If he asks what you have to offer, and only if he asks and should show interest in wanting someone to work for him, filch an object from his person.

There’s no way in oblivion that you’re selling your “light reading”, but these garnets should probably be worth something. You slowly approach the meditating khajiit...

You’re jolted out of thought when you hear a loud *SNAP* as you crush a twig underfoot. The cat’s eyes flicker open, and it stares at you for a moment, before a small smile curls on its face.

>“Warm greetings, friend” the cat whispers with a rough, yet oddly soothing, voice. “Apologies, you catch Khajiit in a state most unbecoming. Khajiit do not get many visitors”. It inspects you with its silver eyes. “But you are no city-dweller, hmm? Your clothes speak of roads you’ve travelled, and you carry a scent not of the north…”

“Aah… yes. I’m a traveler, like you I suppose”, you say. “I… I’m sorry, but is your name… Khajiit?”

>The cat flicks its tail impatiently. “That would be very foolish. Khajiit is called Ahkari”. She rolls her eyes. “Perhaps you’ve spent too much time with nords, hmm?”

“S-sorry, sorry!” you quickly stutter out. “I’m Stealscale. Look, uhm, are you a trader?” Ankari’s ears perk up when you say those words. “Because, well, I’ve got some things to trade, and I’m looking for archery equipment… and perhaps I could work for you as a caravan guard for the time bein-”

>“First things first” Ankari suddenly interrupts, “you are an archer with no bow? Khajiit wonders how you made it this far from home”. Ankari opens her palm out to you. “What sort of bow are you looking for, hmm? Khajiit has many… many wares. Her hand motions inside the tent, where several bows, swords, and shields lay leaning against the corner. “But…” she suddenly pulls her hand back. “Perhaps an ordinary bow won’t do? Perhaps this friend desires a weapon more… fearsome?” she grins, baring a set of sharp fangs.

A simple tent?

>>23145373
Well the Black Marsh never truly was conquered by the Imperials, they barely scratched the surface. Argonians just went along with it because they saw no point in a war and gave lip service to the Empire. By the time of Skyrim they're considered 'allies' of the Empire and have conquered southern Morrowind. No one wins a proper war against the Black Marsh, not even the daedra in the Oblivion Crisis when so many Argonians stormed Oblivion that the daedra princes closed the portals because they'd be overrun.

This devastates Morrowind to no end, Vvardenfell is more or less incinerated while the Argonians invade what little remains of the southern province. >Black Marsh
>Crushed by the Empire
>Crushed
>By the EMPIRE

This is the nation that, when invaded by the TES equivalent of hell, proceeded to first push them out of their land, then invade hell right back. This was largely due to the Hist mind-controlling every last Argonian in Black Marsh into fighting back Dagon's forces, but then -anything- native to Black Marsh is nothing to be trifled with on account of them living in Black Marsh; a land so un-tameable that attempts to build roads and bridges actually slowed down trade and commerce.
Black Marsh is a scary (awesome) place.

Perhaps offer to help with tasks around the camp for a discount?

Screw taking the wagon. That costs septims, WHICH YOU COULD SPEND ON A BOW.
Walking is free. You can catch your own food.

Consider wandering south if you choose to loop down through the warmer areas. The hot springs down that way are great for a bath, if you don't mind the smell. Or the giants. Or the bears.

Ok, taking the road west from the stables will take us past Anga's mill(cut wood for some quick cash, nothing else of note), Forsaken cave (nothing useful here save normal dungeon loot, unless we manage to get the White Phial quest going), the Nightgate Inn(warm beds, one skill book), Silverdrift lair (bandits and undead, traps, one book each for sneak and two-handed, no static loot to speak of other then a handful of potions and a shield, but normal random loot for a barrow), the Weynon Stones (Fucking avoid! Ice wraiths and shit loot), Shrouded Grove (wildlife and a spriggen, but the beasies start off fighting eachother at least. Also a smallish cave with a couple dragur and a chest), then pass between (or right though) forts Dunstad (bandits, heavy armor skill book, full set of crafting stations except for a smelter and enchanting table) and Fellhammer (bandits, garnet for certain, lots of iron ore veins and a smelter. may also find the Moon Amulet, a fragment of Wuuthrad, or the Helm of Winterhold stashed somewhere. Boss is skippable) before coming out at the Hall of the Vigilant as an approximate halfway point. Well, assuming it's not still a vampire-filled ruin at this point, anyway.

Since we're Argonian, we've got water breathing and a sneak bonus for stealth attacks, big bonus to lockpicking for maximum looting, a bonus to light armor to avoid getting killed quite so quickly, and our racial bonuses to unarmed combat and one-a-day super health regen. Sticking to stealth/archery, with our claws for any close work (hopefully avoided), we should be able to get though at least one dungeon pretty easily with just a bow, decent rolls, and maybe some looted armor if we get jumped on the way.

>>23147257
I'm not saying we should head out RIGHT NOW, I'm just laying out what we'll find if we take the road. We should definitely get at the least a bow and arrows, maybe work a couple days at the mill/docks for some spending money.
>>
>>23147453
Screw the docks, they'll make us sign a long-term contract. Go catch some fish to trade to the khajiit, perhaps, or try and sneak over the wall/in the gate with a disguise.

How much are we assuming that the dragonborn has done, here? Speedrun, or completionist?
>>
>>23147002
Dragonborn: Making a bitching house, going to meetings in Whiterun since you know he's a thane there and carries some responsibilities. Probably is overseeing some settlement of the Whiterun region and being called on if any dragons get frisky.
CHIM, well our ~ is inaccessible. So as soon as we break the fourth wall and gain access to it.
And finally, probably by doing tgm and activating no clip mode so we can just fucking run through the sky and punch him to death.
>>
>>23144387
You know, I hear the Dawnguard are recruiting again
>>
>>23147541
I dunno. In Oblivion they handwaved off as "Fuck if anybody knows, Cowl magic", in Morrowind it was "Yep, did everything. Because Nerevarine. But then everything exploded, so you'll never know exactly what once he's fucked off to Akavir", and Daggerfall threw up its hands and yelled "DRAGON BREAK, EVERYTHING DIDN'T HAPPEN ALL AT ONCE."

I don't see an obvious fuck-history condition hanging around for Skyrim, unless reading the Elder Scroll fucked up time even worse. Or maybe Hermaeus Mora went and fucked with everyone's head.
>>
>>23146903
I saw something cruising the wiki that may be relevant: "Argonians' genders are sometimes referred to as life-phases, implying they may be able to change gender."

So possibly three up.

If Dragonborn did every fucking quest, then there are like dozen different deities after his soul when he dies.
All the daedra he served, and he also is supposed to go to soverngard.
There is gonna be a mighty brawl of the gods when the dragonbord dies.

That's because almost none of it happens at all in the games. Just gossip and made up stuff after the fact; which is continuously mangled and rearranged to suit personal preference.

Thread is dead.

>>
>>23147866
So, let's see... for certain there's Akatosh for the dragon blood, Mara and Dibella for their respective "agent" quests, Shor for Sovngarde, Hircine because werewolf, Boethiah because she's a manipulative bitch, Hermaeus Mora for championhood and secrets, Mehrunes Dagon because champion, Molag Bal because champion and perhaps also vampiredom, Nocturnal for being a Nightingale, and Sithis for being in the Dark Brotherhood.

On top of that, we've got maybes for Azura, Clavicus Vile, Malacath, and Meridia depending on how binding they consider championhood, Kynareth for the Voice, and also maybe Talos, depending on how much of an interest he took and how much power he has to spare after being starved of worship. Maybe also the God of Worms or the Ideal Masters, depending on just how the events of Dawnguard and vampirism play into everything.

And also Sheogorath, if he feels like it.

Fuck.

Not dead. Just waiting for OP to wake up/get back from work.
>>
>>23148057

Coming from a long time fan of the Elder Scrolls games, I came to a realization earlier this year, while playing through part of the Dawnguard expansion for Skyrim.

The Elder Scrolls are terrible.

The writing is often outright bad. Combat consists entirely of whomever has a larger health bar. Quests are often so mangled and degenerate in their thought process that they're not worth thinking about(Good example: Thieves Guild in Skyrim). The history of the series is constantly thrashed, to the point of saying: lol didn't happen. to previous games.

There is almost no immersion to speak of.

I looked forward to, and enjoyed playing Skyrim. But when I look back upon it and its predecessors, I can't help but say they're all terrible games. Owing their status exclusively to the fact that they are, for all intents and purposes, the only games of their likeness available at this time.
>>
>>23148238
I completely agree. Not even my favorite game, Morrowind, is exempt from the criticism. It invented that 'Dragonbreak' thing to begin with, to explain away the multiple endings of Daggerfall.
>>
>>23148238
The writing is terrible, yes. However, it's so PRETTY. And I can micromanage that shit alll day.
>>
>>23148502

Eh...yes and no. It's pretty if you look at it from a distance. I'd describe it like impressionist paintings.

They look pretty good from a distance, only when you get close you realize it's a horrible mess of scratches and sloshed paint, and it's hard to differentiate one thing from another.
>>
Enjoyable quest, OP, even with the slow updates. Do you intend on continuing this?

“Oh, there’s no need for that”, you say, confident in your archery skills, “I think something simple that gets the job done would be enough. It just needs to keep me alive, not be fancy”.

>”ah, but there is nothing ‘excessive’ about this weapon, you will see”, she whispers, and quickly jumps into the tent and begins haphazardly searching through the bags and chests scattered inside. moments later she returns outside, clutching a large bundle of cloth. Beaming, she unwraps the pile to reveal a slightly recurved wooden bow reinforced with ornately decorated bits of metal.

>”Khajiit knows a good bow when she sees one”, she explains, slowly turning the bow while pointing out important details. “It was found deep within the tomb of Yeen-gol Baar-row, the nordic hero, and restored to its former glory by the expert blacksmith of whiterun”
.
“I don’t care about the bow’s legacy”, you retort. “I’d take shoddy bow made in the 4th era over a masterwork bow made in the 1st any day. What if the wood’s rotten on the inside? How do I know it won’t just shatter while I’m hunting?”

>Ankari extends a finger and scrapes a claw along the bow. “Ancient nordic steel. Khajiit guarantees it’s strong as dragonscale…” She flips the bow around and grabs it by the bottom. “ Nordic weapons are as tough as their makers”. She smacks it down against the ground like an axe, with a metallic *THUD*.

“Metal, huh? Seems a bit heavy.” you mutter. “I’m more of a scout, I need to be able to run fast for long distanced”.

>Ankari’s ears droop down a bit, but then they perk up once more and her eyes open wide. “ah, but this bow still holds many secrets, yes?” She taps the bow gently on the side, and it shimmers twice. “This is no trick. Ancient Nordic magics, affixed by the soul of a frost daedra.” She bares her teeth in a smile once more. “It fires arrows so cold even ice wraiths fear it”.

Why would I need an icy weapon in Skyrim anyway? Almost everyone here practically lives in a blizzard. It'll be like tickling them with a spring breeze, and I have yet to hear about anyone relaxing a foe to death.

Either way, we were forewarned about this khajit, and why would she be trying to do us a favor? Stick to the simple bow - let's get this journey moving, and we can worry about fancier things when we have a job.
>>
>>23153083
Yeah, but once you soul trap something with a soul gem the source doesn't matter, it's just a power source to fuel the enchantment.
>>
>>23145613
can someone draw this but with an argonian

>>
>>23153141

>>23153089
Lore-wise, certain powerful or "themed" souls lend themselves to certain enchantments. Hence why the Frost Blade of the Monarch, being enchanted with the soul of a Frost Monarch, is such a potent weapon.
>>
>>23153197
Yeah, but this is just some bow pulled off a draugr in some random-ass barrow. It isn't even named.
>>
>>23152205
If I want deadlier arrows I will poison them myself. What I require is a bow of simple and sturdy make with a full quiver of long lasting arrows. Perhaps I will consider a dagger if what you have also matches my descriptions. I may be new to the north, but I know what a few score of septims and a pair of garnets will buy and a mythical bow is either out of my price range or simple fraudulent. I know what I want and if you will not provide me with it I will find a merchant that can.
>>
>>23153280
That we know of. Last I checked only those with CHIM got a HUD.
>>
>>23152205

I note that the alleged frosty powers of this bow still don't really help me out as far as maneuverability goes.
>>

I'd think she'd at least make one up the way she's pushing it.

Look”, you say angrily, “I hardly think a bow with an Ice enchantment will do me much good this far north. All I need is a bow and some arrows.” You rummage through your knapsack and pull out a garnet. “I may be new to the north, but I know that a pair of garnets covers that very easily.”

>Ankari’s face quickly changes from eager to agitated. “the lizard is foolish”, She says slowly, “To think he may travel so far from home and expect to know so much.” She leans down on the bow. “The garnet in your hand is trash, it has two imperfections and is chipped on the right side.”

You stare at her, flustered, then take out the other garnet. “I… well, this one’s fine-“

>“That one is smaller than the typical cut and has a large crack running down the center.” She pauses a moment, waiting for a response from you, but when there is none she continues. “Garnets are a main export from this part of the north, and Khajiit has already acquired enough gems from others. The lizard has no bartering ground to make demands.”

There’s an awkward silence between the two of you for a moment. Finally, Ankari clears her throat and straightens up.

>“Do you truly have nothing worthwhile?” She leans in a bit closer. “Nothing... mm… exotic? Perchance, some balmora blue? Sload fat?

“None of that”. You say flatly, pulling back from her. “I have 35 septims and some ‘worthless’ gems. Will you trade me the equipment I need, or should I find a merchant who can?”

>“Well, then”, she muses to herself, before carelessly tossing the ‘legendary’ bow back into the tent. “You are very resolute, and Khajiit respects that. Fine. Both gems and 25 septims for an elvish bow and a quiver of twenty iron-tipped arrows.” She crosses her arms. “no negotiation. If it is unsatisfactory, seek your goods elsewhere.”
