"Also, anybody have any idea why Kirei might be running off to the docks?"

".... No?" Rider not quite asks. "Are you suspicious of him or something?"

"I'm not sure. Maybe. My thing was more what he was doing down there. I mean, the only reason I could see was if it was connected to either the Grail War or the Vampire. But if it was the latter, why would he not tell us about a possible lead? And if it's the former, he's more of a Referee than anything. Why's he getting more involved or being secretive about it?"

Lancer shrugs. "I'll look into it. I was going to head that way anyway." He stands up from the table, having finished his meal. "If I find something unusual, I'll let you know."

Arcueid passes along a number for a Cell-Phone and then tells me that Shiki was upset with her for calling in what was apparently the middle of the night in France to share the 'new phone' news. She then wanders off, saying that she was going to the Forest to see if Berserker died or not, since she apparently feels she would be able to tell.

As everyone goes their separate ways, I pause to talk to Rin as she helps me clean up after Breakfast. "Any progress on trying to find the sheath?"

She shakes her head. "I don't looking at either of you will help us find it. When I tried to divine it's location and nature through Saber, all I got were a few vague memories. My visions on your side were even less helpful, just a glimpse of a fire and her summoning. when I tried mixing the blood, all I could divine from that was a clear view of what your hypothetical children would look like."

".... Really?"

She shrugs. "What? That's what kids are, mixed genetics between two people. I could probably do the same between any man and woman, I just didn't know that's what the result of using those spells on that kind of mixed blood sample would cause."

"Alright, what about Mana transfers? Is that something two people can do?"
>>
>>23137320

"... Well yes, but it depends on the method you're referring to. One time transfusions can be done with some sort of medium. A Jewel like I use would work, or blood. Of course, the more compatible the two people are, the more likely the success. you could also make some sort of Magical bond to make the flow more effective."

"Like the bonding of a Servant?"

"Kinda. Servants are Ghosts designed to do that though, linking humans is trickier. Swapping blood or some form of ritualized or intimate contact would smooth the process and strengthen the bond, but it also complicates the process."

"Intimate contact?" I ask. "Like a kiss or something? We could make a contract like that?"

"... Yes." She responds blushing. "But that's not exactly as.... involved. Making a contract like that wouldn't have any real benefit than us just saying the words and making a pact."

"So what, the more intimate the stronger the bond?"

"Basically, yes." She answers. I try to get her to clarify, but she instead goes to find Sakura to begin her Magic lessons.

"Hey Ilya, you're not afraid of needles, are you?"

Blood transfusion so we can get MOAR MANA. Since Ilya is LOADED with the stuff, she's the best donor. Also she'll be our blood sister afterwards.
>>
>>23137324
So, I think last thread we decided:
Consult Ilya about being a mana battery for us, but no-go if it stands to hurt/injure her.
Also on the cards was Rin getting Saber once Rider goes back to Sakura.

And alternate proposal was to have Rin fuel us (loldolphins) and to have Ilya run Saber to give her hax quantities of prana. That said, I am wary of that one due to the last time Rin tried to give us jewel!prana, it nearly killed us.
>>
>>23137324
Rin, spectacularly unhelpful as always.

Well, lets get back to the real issue. THAT DAMN BIKE.

>>23137482
>the last time Rin tried to give us jewel!prana, it nearly killed us.
So, we just can't use the jewel method. Guess we'll have to resort to a more. . . intimate method.
>>
>>23137509
I think the problem is that her own prana is so strongly inherently "Jewel" element, that it reacts badly to us, not the delivery method. To to mention our element is so strongly "Sword" it reacts horribly to other stuff.

Like mixing a strong alkali and a strong acid as opposed to a weak alkali and a weak acid.
>>
>>23137533
Are you implying that us getting intimate with Rin could kill us?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wd4YgudTcnM
>>
>>23137553

Oh, well, if it's just regular fucking-for-fun, then no worries, we can be "intimate" with Rin all we want.

I'm just saying we need to be exceedingly cautious about any actual transference of mana.
>>

>>23137324

Find Little Sista.

Inquire about mana battery-ing since Rin is being unspectacularly helping.

"I don't know why shes like that. It's only a kiss right?" /shirou
>>
>>23137581
I'm pretty sure there is a world of difference between intimate prana transfer and just shoving a prana pill down our throat like she did previously.

As long as we don't go gobbling down any more jewels we should be fine.
>>
>>23137447
Blood transfusion. It's the SFW version of Fate's more infamous prana transfers.

Pasting actions from last thread.

>[x] Talk to Ilya.
Mention that Avenger wanted the Einzbern's knowledge of the Grail as well as Ilya herself for some unknown purpose.
Ask her about Shirou's problems with low prana capacity and see if she can help with that.

>[ ] Talk to Sakura
Kinda too late for this, but I want to call out Sakura on waking up really early to make breakfast.
Ask if she had any weird dreams involving Shirou and/or Servants again.

>[ ] Talk to Saber
Ask her if she can pull the sword that Rin detected out of Shirou's body.
Alternatively, spar with her [s]using those spanking new weapons copied from Gil.[/s]

To clarify on the Ilya vote, keep the contract between them non-sexual.
Ask for a lecture on anything and everything prana related.
Ask for other alternatives besides loldragon/loldolphins, and if none are available then that's the end of it.
>>

So you're saying we DON'T offer Rin oral? Bad form!

From last thread:

I would add talk to Rider or Caster, but relevant topics of conversation elude me at the moment.
Choices are personally prioritized from highest to lowest.

I'd like to veto that blood transfusion idea as hard as I can, because what the actual fuck guys.

For AC-Guy's sake, let's ask Rin the details on mana transfers rather than Ilya, and then ask if there are other SFW methods (Like through blood).

As far as Ilya's concerned, I'd rather give her Saber and have Rin power us through mana transfers, although Ilya could probably support Saber and give us blood for extra mana if it came down to it.

Look, Ilya's mentally older than us. She's also damn smart when it comes to actual magecraft. Possibly as much as RIn.

She can give us good answers, kiddy demeanour or not.
>>
>>23137770
I'm kinda wary of having Saber form a contract with Ilya. Trusting her is fine, but it's the rest of the Einzberns I'm worried about. They might just finish the job that Kiritsugu almost accomplished by using any means at their disposal.

That gave me an idea though. Do we still have those catalysts Kiritsugu left for Shirou after the 4th War?

>>23137803
Seconding little sister lecture on prana.
>>
>>23137803
Ilya. We'll probably make an ass of ourselves, since god knows Shirou probably hasn't picked up on the whole "mana transfer = sexy time" thing yet, but we need answers dammit!
>>
>>23137753
First there's the part where we're drinking blood. That's just nasty and all kinds of unsanitary. Sure, vampires do it, but then again fuckmothering vampires.

Second is the signal it sends to our friends and allies, that we value our contributions over theirs, and are willing to harm or disadvantage them to have our way. Of course they almost certainly are aware that pure practicality is driving us, but it sends uncomfortable signals.

Last but not least is the metagame reason, but only because Shirou doesn't know enough to see it. What is Illya to the Einzbern family? A daughter, or a resource? She was made to be used by her family. What would having her act as Shirou's blood bank and mana vault be doing to her? Treating her like a resource.

We are better than that.

Take a nap, get some light exercise is my vote. Spar with Saber?
>>
>>23137915
>drinking
Dude, that's not how transfusions work. At all. Have you ever given blood? That's basically how a transfusion works, but there's a person on the other side rather than a bag.
>>
>>23137835
Oh, I know that Ilya knows just as much if not more about magecraft than Rin. I was going along the metagaming lines of "Let's NOT ask our little sister if she can help us with our mana problems, when all we IC is that it's 'intimate.'"
>>
>>23137930
I thought it had to be fresh blood to be most effective? Either way I said "drinking" to maximize the "ew gross" factor.

I figured that it would be a transfusion, but that's almost as bad, given we have no idea about our character's blood types.
>>
>>23137915
Dude we're going to ask her for her help, not treat her like a resource.
>>23137942

There's also 'ritual', which for all we know could involve Ilya smacking Shirou in the face with a half-frozen tuna.

You don't seem to get how teamwork between a group of hyperspecailised individuals works. Everyone contributes via the means that is most appropriate to their abilities, not by some arbitrary measure of contribution and participation.

Besides, they're all mages. They're far more ruthless than us about this whole thing.

What your'e saying is akin to that we should punch people with bullets rather than using them as ammo for a gun because that values the contribution of the gun over the bullet. It's absurd, even when dealing with people and comrades.
>>
>>23137915

We specifically chose Ilya and/or Sakura as they don't have a contribution to our combine war strength. Of course if Berserker reveals himself again, that changes things but she is currently the top pick as Sakura is most likely going to power Rider.
>>
>>23137981
It's not a traditional medical transfusion. It's more of a magical process. The "transfusion" is a symbolic facilitator for the ritual.
>>
>>23137981
Considering that Ilya is a homonculus and Shirou is... who fucking knows at this point, I think a far more pertinent question would 'is that even blood DID IT JUST WINK AT ME OH GOD WHAT THE FUCK'
>>
>>23137981
>I thought it had to be fresh blood to be most effective?
You can run a transfusion straight from one person to another. That's how field transfusions work, they've been able to do it since at the very least the Korean War. The "in" end of the line goes in one guy's arm, the "out" end goes in the other.
But you're right about blood type, that could have nasty mundane medical side effects. And unfortunately Fate is one of the only major Japanese series that DOESN'T have official blood types for the characters so I can't just go check (I tried to just now).
>>
>>23138007

I'm voting for asking Ilya about methods of mana transfer because at this point she's the only experienced option we have that can be mature about it. (Goddamnit Rin! We're fighting a war here!) We should also ask if she's willing to host Saber. It'll be a pretty rude, too-soon, question considering poor berserker but I think she'll come around if we point out that it's to keep her safe from whatever Avenger's plan is for her.
>>
I wander the house for a while, looking for Ilya. After a few minutes, I see her staring at her sleeping friend with a measure of disappointment. "He's lazy."

"He's young. dogs need more sleep than people, and puppies even more so."

She pouts slightly in response, before shaking her head and looking at me. "Did you need something Onii-chan?"

"Actually, I was wondering if you knew anything about prana transfers." I tell her, sitting down. "Rin gave me a couple of really basic pieces of information, but she seems... a bit busy and distracted."

Ilya shrugs and sits down. "Alright. What did you want to know?"

"Well, how about Magical bonds? She said that there were one time ones like blood, but there's also the semi-permanent kind. She also said it was harder for people to make a connection like that than between something like a person and a Servant."

Ilya nods. "Servants are made with the intention of that kind of bond in mind. The thing is, people have... baggage. emotions, memories, differing methods of teaching and learning magic. Different genetics. Different outlooks on life." She makes a few hand gestures with a distant gaze, as though building a person right between us. "The more different the people, the more 'walls' in the way of a connection. There are ways to bypass the walls, and circumvent things. Take servants: without an artifact, you would summon the person most suited to work as your partner. If an artifact is used, you'd summon that person. But let's say there's an artifact that could correspond to more than one hero: a sword passed down a family line, a symbol of a religious order, a chunk of the Round Table. You'd summon the 'best' match from those possible servants."

"So not only are they a ghost, they're the most compatible possible ghost." Ilya gives me a firm nod. "Makes sense, I suppose. So what about people?"

"It depends on the person. It would be easier with blood relatives than outsiders, but beyond that I'm hardly an expert."

"So you and I couldn't?"

"Probably not." She answers with a shrug "At least not using a normal method. There's different ways: Emotional closeness would be a good start, but we'd have to achieve pretty much the exact same wavelength to actually MAKE the bond."

"From an emotional standpoint."

"It's possibly the best route for that kind of a connection. " She responds. "There are one-time things like using blood, but that isn't exactly a connection you could really use as an effective anchor."

"Alright. So extreme emotional similarities?" I ask "Like what?"

".... Any of them? Terror, joy, anger.... Most obvious one is just sex. Temporary magic boost from the act, emotional intimacy, joyful climax..." Her voice trails off slightly. "It's practically a ready-made checklist, actually. I'm surprised you didn't know that, since it's just lacking a quick enchantment to make it stick."

"I'm really new to most magic. I was barely able to cast anything before the war started. Besides, that's not something I think Rin would want to talk about."

"Why not? Have you two not...?"

".... No, no we haven't." I raise an eyebrow. "Why does everyone just assume I'm thinking with my pants?"

"Well she just seemed the closest. Sakura then?" I shake my head. "Saber? .... Not Caster, surely. Rider?"

"Nobody, alright?" I respond, flustered.

Ilya just stares at me disbelieving. "Wait, I thought you were crazy because of hormones or something."

"And you were fine with that?"

"Well it goes both ways!" She responds exasperated. "So what, you just filled your home and sanctum with known enemies 'just because'? Did Dad not teach you ANYTHING about how Magi work?" She concludes her outburst by burying her face in her hands, almost like she's trying to hide her anger from you.

"No he didn't. The more I learn, the more obvious it is that he wanted to keep me out of this. I'm not a great mage, and I'm very altruistic. I think he was trying to protect me by keeping me uninvolved."

"So he kept you in the dark? How would that keep you safe?"

"Well, I apparently have no sense of self preservation for one. Remember that time we fought near the church? That was literally my first day as a real mage. I just learned there was more to the universe.... a couple hours before that."

There's a long and almost painful silence as we stare at each other. "I had actually forgotten about that. You ran straight AT Berserker twice, once by explosion."

"To be fair, the explosion was an accident. I was trying to steal the car."

There's another drawn out silence. "Well if you need, I guess I could give you some Mana. I'm not sure how well it would work though. We're both kinda... weird, magically. For completely different reasons." she shakes her head. "Onii-chan? I know this is all.... unusual circumstances, but.... Try to take better care of yourself?"

I give her very vague assurances that I will, while she goes back to being disappointed in her puppy's relative lack of energy.

Thirding this. And adding talking to Ilya about hosting Saber. She's going to need protection for whatever BBEG plan is brewing and an Ilya+Saber combo is about is good as we've got. If we can find Avalon already Ilya might actually make it.
>>
Just want to remind your guys that last thread we found out that apparently Ilya is a chunk of avenger's plan and we essentially pissed not only her guardian away but the big wild card that made attacking us risky. We NEED to vote to get saber to take care of her as soon as we can or we WILL end up with an unlimited blade works Ilya. If you know what I mean... ;_; Waifu-quest is all fine and dandy but pay attention to the very real danger here.
>>
I pause, turning back to Ilya and giving her a quick hug. "Hey, it has it's good points. I got to meet you."

>>
I examine the bike, managing the connections carefully. Checking The various pieces, reinforcing and rechecking the various parts.

After a few minutes, I have a list of most of the parts needed to fix the bike. After checking the catalog, there's only one part I can't afford: some sort of timing chain. Luckily, it's fairly cheap after I get all the other things, and seems like it would be comparatively easy to install. After calling the parts store, they tell me they can have all the parts delivered by the day after tomorrow.

So starting then, I can seriously begin repairs.

Talk to Ilya about having Saber guard her. Possibly even contract with her as she's a big enough part of avenger's plan that he set a trap to get us away from her. Not to mention that Ilya's stats will push Saber up to make attacking us a serious consideration. Ilya also seems on the level so I'm hoping she's not some shaowclone/Assassin trolling from the old man.
>>
>>23139878
Just to clarify. Did we get the chain? The way it was written it sounds like we got it rolled in from a large order discount. If not we pester Rin/Sakura for dosh with the promise of footrubs and that we'll repay them after the war's over and we get a part-time job.

Anyway Speculations time!

Reading back to where the two spear guy attacked us. The only description other then the two spear observation is

>I see the figure approaching me, A living shadow holding a long staff in one hand and what looks like a shorter spear in the other.

>After an intense clash for almost a minute straight, the Shadow Man hops back, looks away as though alarmed, and then throws his larger spear directly at my heart before vanishing into smoke.

We have seen that Avenger can summon 4th war servants

>"I don't need your permission." Archer responds calmly, Avenger interposing himself between them. Around him, three forms begin to take shape. One a hooded man, hunched and broken. One a Knight, cloaked in Darkness. The last looks like the one I fought in the woods before the last saber arrived.

This pretty much says that he is summoning the alter versions rather then the normal versions on the servants.

That does make me think, the Alters versions of the forth war servants might be weaker then the normal versions.

Iskander Alter: Can't use his reality marble because he no longer cares about is men.

Lancelot Alter: More consumed by madness then the original, might not be able to use "Knight of Honor"

Bluebeard Alter: The only servant I think who's alter version would be stronger then the original. Since he would would no longer care about Jeanne d'Arc, being a heretic or creating the most awesome 'cool'

>>
>>23140303
Well projection magic doesn't work.
Locator magic doesn't work.
Looks like we need to think outside the box here.

Why not just convince Caster that Avalon would essentially make her husbando immortal and thus they could live together? In this game we know she loves him and we know she is probably the strongest magic user we have access to,
>>
>>23140303
Oh okay.
Go bug Caster about it. We'll probably need to drag Saber along for name, physical description, last known whereabouts, known acquaintances, that sort of thing.
>>
>>23140235
>>23140303

>Consult Rin about pulling a magic artifact out of someone. I had Avalon originally in my timeline, but I'm thinking someone else has it right now.

Here's the only good clue we have from Archer, besides that vague ranting from that dream man.

>Shirou is now aware of a general timeline of events in Fate/Zero. The parts experienced by Saber and Kiritsugu were the same as in canon.

A couple of questions then. Does Kiritsugu know where it last was before he died, and did he ever write that information down on those notes he left?

That would be a good place to start if everyone is gung-ho about finding Avalon. I'm still voting for [x]Project mystery sword.
>>
Wouldn't Caster's Item Crafting would be the best way to heal Souichrou? She mentioned she 'broke' or 'discarded' the skill, however, but not why she did so. Maybe there's a way to fix it, or get it back? If she 'locked' it to keep from draining Souichrou dry of Prana, maybe she should / could contract with someone else and see if her item crafting can create a health tonic that will fix him. If anything, switching Magi should take some strain off Souichrou's body, and might give us more time to find something to help him.

It's worth asking Caster about, or at least ask her why she broke the craft skill.
>>
>>23140354

Hmm. I think I vote for:

[x] Search Kiritsugu`s Notes on clues about Avalon
>>
>>23140354
I second Mystery Sword Projection.
That and asking how to check for / disable Perception Filters.

Also, AFAIK, the last person to hold Avalon in F/Zero was Illiasviel. She died in the shed and...

Hey. Is that Magic Circle in the shed? Did it pop up when we summoned Saber?

No idea if it matters or not, but was Illiasviel buried in Japan, or was her body sent back to the Eizenburns?
>>
Looks like the consensus is still 'search for Avalon'

It looks like we are just arguing about how.
>>
>>23140443
Whoah broseidon back up. She passed it back to Kerrytugu didn't she? That was why he could handle triple accel and redecorating the room in the fight with kirei. And yes, the circle is what pops out saber in the beginning of FSN

>>23140459
consensus looks like bring saber to bug caster about it in case there's some spiritual attraction dickery we can use to search for it and re-check notes for things pertaining to avalon and us. If caster gets grumpy we remind her that we're doing this to svae her husbando. Maybe bring up her hopping over to another master if being in spirit form is still too much of a drain on souichibro. We know about rule breaker so she can just jab herself if she's worried about command seals.
>>
>>23140504
Oh and it's a bit of Irony about the circle Iris used to preserve herself saved her adopted son as without we would have had a dead end in the shed and never meet the best servant and couple. RiderxAyako
>>
>>23140443
If we go by Fate/Zero canon here.

>Avalon was used as a catalyst for the summoning, but Kiritsugu never told Saber about it.
>Kiritsugu took Avalon for himself way a bit before his final showdown with Kirei. Hence he was able to abuse Time Alter to ridiculous extremes due to the healing factor.
>Iri died in the some altar at a theatre(?) and ended up as Grail goo.
>The magic circle at the shed was made to sustain Iri when Avalon was no longer in her since she could no longer move at that point.
>Kiritsugu used Avalon to save the young Emiya Shirou during the Fuyuki fire.

Now, out of all these canon facts, there might be a point of contention in at least one of them with regards to quest canon.
My best assumption is that the last bit may not have happened.

Considering that both Rin and Caster have said that the magic of old and that of the present differ, does Caster have some way of tracking Avalon that Rin wouldn't have? Caster can scry and she might be able to narrow down the areas where such an artefact might be. More so because the artefact in question actually exist in the real world and wasn't summoned like excalibur.

I really want to stick with [x]Project Mystery Sword since this action would give the most results in the least amount of time.

But since it looks like I'll be outvoted pretty soon, here's an outline contribution for Plan Avalon:

Give Raiga a call and ask about the circumstances of Kiritsugu's death as well as ask where he was buried. (Though, as his son, shouldn't Shirou know this already?)
Then visit Dad's grave site, probably bring Ilya at some point. Look for clues along the way. If the location doesn't yield immediate results, back track.

We won't be finding Avalon in a day here, it'll probably end up with a search for clues leading to more clues.

Well if we pretend for a minute that it'll ever happen we just need to project it long enough and enough times for caster to get a hang on it. With the Ley lines, Ilya, souichibro, ourselves, rin, sakura, Bazette and best master - Ayako we'd just need to get one up to buy us some time and then go from there.

>>23141121
Sadly I think the only real plans we have is the grail actually working. The infinite mana battery is impractical unless we can rape Gil's gate for a specific thing we've never heard of or know about. I don't think there's an in-universe reference for how much juice they need but source implied that a huge chunk of the prana is supplied by the grail. Part of which why it says true incarnation is sometimes a wish. This leaves Ilya reaching root which once again is cancelled by a corrupted grail and ley lines & nomming people which we're against. Maybe somebody more familiar with dicking around with nasuverse rules can make a plan but we're essentially fucked. Maybe between Sakura and ayako we can keep rider and rin/Shirou/Illya to supply saber but I doubt we'd be able to handle much more without burning out.

And to the anti-Ilya folks. She's somewhere in her very late-teens to mid-twenties and not even blood related. We gotta take all the prana sources we can get if we're going to pull this off seeing as the grail is likely to be corrupted or this is some weird dream/fake universe shit. And even if the Grail isn't corrupted...

I'm still back on thread 14. Long story short, we thought too much with our clit at all times and paid for it. I think the worst part was that not only did we ditch our initial love interest for plot hook lady #3 but when we had a chance to make up for our massive mistakes we made with initial love interest the fucktards went for dosh and acting like a cunt instead of being the caring girlfriend trying to right the wrongs she'd done. It was like Bizzaro /u/ and the yuri romance hivemind was replaced by lel so randumb shitposters.

Wait, what? We need to be eviscerated by adorable kid sister to find the fucking thing?

I'm kind of curious, though - assuming Archer wasn't lying to us, we have no healing factor.

And yet, Shirou took on Grail Goo after being woulded by 4th War Lancer Alter (Illya sucked out the poison, and was surprised we were as mobile as we were).

Furthermore, when lit on fire by the bike, we had some traumatic flashbacks of the Fuyuki Fire, and felt as though we were mutilated, but we were unphased. Something is protecting and healing us from harm.

But what?

Wait, was that fire after fixing the bike jkust Shirou having a PTSD moment, or was he really burning?
>>
Really burning. The fact that 'Lancer' resorted to smacking Shirou with a broom instead of using his Rune Magic to extinguish the flames is what tipped us to Arcuid's presence in the first place... If I'm recalling correctly.
>>
>>23142053
Yes, Shirou was really burning. For quite some time.
And then nearly drowned.
And then was totally fine in a matter of seconds.
All without Avalon.

We ain't human bro.

We're a Demon, born from Kiritsugu's futile wish that he could save just one person from the fire at the end of the 4th War.
>>
>>23142053
He was on actual fire. It was good times. As for Avalon, we apparently aren't Shirou Emiya or at least the adopted mystery orphan one we think we are. And between Avenger, the poisoning, and Kirei gargling a bag of cocks to divine our abnormality we're hair deep in wizard-shit. The dream is implying that Merlin/Zelretch did some shit and as usual we fucked something up big-time so essentially all reason and logic is out. We're pretty much some demonic/spiritual entity that'll only die if we are killed. That being said, If Caster can't pull out the oldfag wizardry and find avalon for us we wont be alive long enough to worry about whether the grail really is corrupted or not at this rate. If we still had berserker i'd go for passing saber to Ilya for maximum excaliber and calling avenger out for a chat to figure out what the fuck is going on but we're essentially in a dead end now and it's only a matter of how soon before most if not all of us are a bunch of dried blood stains.
>>
>>23142098
... Oh fuck. Shirou Perception Filtered himself to hide the fire damage, didn't he?

He saw how horrible he looked in the mirror and magically 'Nope' d it out of sight... But the damage is still there.

If I'm right... We need to look into fixing that FOR REAL. Before those wounds go septic from lack of proper treatment.

Back To Illiya, STAT.

Rin: You filtered it so much, even *you* didn't know it was there anymore?
Shirou: Uh... Yes?
>>
>>23142153
That is NOT something Shirou is capable of, our magic simply couldn't do that.

Rin said herself that perception filters are pretty much limited to small innocuous stuff. Setting up one on the fly that fools sight, smell (because charred flesh stinks like fuck), as well as our own sense of pain and touch would be nigh impossible even for a mage that wasn't hyper-specialized into ALL SWORDS ALL THE TIME.

The superhuman healing fits with the small mountain of clues we've piled up that suggest we aren't a normal person.

CURSES
>>
All I know is the following:

Kirei took the claim that Illiya healed Shirou at face value and did not examine him. The wound that Shadow Lancer inflicted was left alone as 'Insta-healed'.

When set on fire, Shirou saw the damage done to his face in the mirror, but Saber acted as if everything were normal. Shirou's reflection in the tile afterwards appeared fine. Another, unexplained 'insta-heal'. As for the line that makes me think 'Perception Filter':
>I try to reconcile how I could be fine and maimed at the same time, when I realize the last thought I had was how freaked out she would be to see me like that.
Which is standard Shirou 'others before self' behavior.

Rin's gotten hurt, and Sakura was at death's door before we got the crest worms out of her. Both have regained HP. Has Shirou? Last I remember it being mentioned, Shirou was down to 1 HP. AC-Guy did state he was using Shirou's HP as a type of hybrid Fate Point / Game Over system, but he also mentioned there might be ways to regain HP.

In Fate 2.0, you can regain Fate Points, though the method of which is entirely up to the DM.

In F/S:A, I have no idea if we've regained any at all. We've had Shirou rest, eat, cook, and sleep, and we still have low (~1) HP.

>>23142213
Now, you stated:
>That is NOT something Shirou is capable of, our magic simply couldn't do that.

This Shriou has constantly gone above and beyond the VN / Cannon Shirou in terms of magical aptitude, ability, and adaptability. He explained some of the difference to EMIYA, (hunt the Ebba and Flow of Mana). We also jacked into the Eizbern's magical forest, when by all the rules of Magic Rin knew, that was impossible.

Can Shirou insta-heal? So far, we've obscured or 'unmade' damage *somehow*, but we're still at very low HP. Healing typically implies regaining HP. As it stands, until the DM states otherwise, I find myself thinking we have just hidden the problem and moved on.

As such, I ask for DM input on the subject.
>>
>>23144100
IIRC, AC-Guy said after we lit ourselves on fire "A good night's rest would be as good a time as any to restore HP" or something to that effect. I think we're okay.
>>
>>23144100
The way I remember it being explained is:

HP is the number of times we can avoid Something Bad Happening. If we run out of HP, it's not a straight game-over, but we're no longer able to avoid things such as fatal wounds or crippling injury. And we do regain HP either every thread or every in-game day.
>>
>>23144178
>>23144100

Do recall - we were at ~1HP.
Then he fucked up a Dice Roll.
We hit 0HP.
We entered the realm of "Something Bad Happening".
About, oh, 1 post later, we were leaving Berserker to die.

We never "regained HP". We lost Berserker.

Though whether or not our HP reset from that is another matter. (I suspect it did.)

>>23144156
Just got to that point in the Bike thread - he did reset our HP at bed time. Perhaps I'm over thinking it. I have no idea how Shirou is 'ista-healing' beyond that 'he just is', and things like that tend to bite people in the ass if you ignore them, doubly so now that Rin seems to have confirmed no Avalon in Shirou.

There are plenty of blades of legend that make one 'Invulnerable', 'Immortal', 'Invincible' and 'Indefatigable'.

Note that only 'Invulnerable' means you get away scott free every time, and 'Immortal' simply means 'not mortal / can not be killed' - injured is still an option, as is being maimed.

>>23144178 >>23144417

I remember Kirei said something to that effect on Thread 1, and also said he'd be resetting the HP count 'every arc'.
If AC-Guy's resetting the HP every time we rest, then fuck me for just realizing that, and sorry to have wasted everyone's time with my unfounded concerns.

Still find myself bothered about the insta-healing, though. Hoping we make projecting that sword a priority.

Thanks for the clarification, fellows. Have a small, happy Saber for your trouble.
>>
>>23144587
I'm assuming the insta-healing is due to whatever the fuck we really are. Likely demon.

Well he's in France at the moment, so we should be good.
And in any case, provided we aren't retarded and just stick to throwing exploding swords at him from outside his reach, we could at least hold him off until Arc cools him the fuck off. We're on her good side after all.

You know I never thought of that. If we can get arc to bring shiki in and vouch for us we might actually survive this grail war. Maybe we can con her into doing it with food, bad romance tips, or something. If nothing else shiki and possibly akiha's demon hunting knowledge might be useful.
>>
>>23149849
Oh god no.
Odds are we wouldn't be the only ones who trigger his KILL MAIM BURN instincts. Ilya is a homonculus so she might trigger it, and god only knows how he'd react to the fucking Servants.

Overstimulating a crazy guy by surrounding him with the very things that make him go bugnuts is not a sound tactical decision. At best it would just tie down Arc because she would have to babysit him to prevent a murder-rape rampage.

Chist, MORE crossovers? NOT a good thing. Shiki is a Nasu protag like Shirou: the game-breaking nature of these two would be silly.

From a narrative standpoint, if Shiki cut loose and was all Ninjaslayer McBadass, Shirou'd lose out on his badassery. So far, Arc has been tolerable because she's mostly helped in investigations and social stuff; she's not gone into serious combat.

The Harem is kickass enough as-is, and importing more folks from another continuity into it would be bad. Especially when said folks aren't in the middle of their story and aren't dealing with the emotional stuff involving a forgotten sister, the possibility of having drained their father's life-force, and are having flashbacks about being burned alive. Shiki & co aren't the paragons of sanity, but having them show up and WTFPWN our BBEG problems would smack of deus ex machina, a bit.

That being said, I'd like for the two to meet in an epilogue for a little laugh. Having the harems meet (and probably scrap) would be hilarity, but I'd not want to see an ongoing story deal with the sudden arrival of the Tohno clan and friends.

While disgusting, I don't think Zouken would be that stupid.

Yes, his familiars enjoy eating the reproductive parts of a victim. But when you factor in the Matou line's magical lineage is almost dead, it would be stupid as shit to take a second chance at rejuvenating the line and let his rape worms ruin that.

Sure Sakura was to become a Grail, but do you think Zouken would act without creating a contingency plan? if he succeeds, then he gets what he wants, but if he fails: well, there can still be another generation of Matou to horrifically bend to his whims.

Shit /tg/ thought up. AC-guy mentioned that we came up with two plans that could let us win.
>One of them was 'absurd shortcut to victory' and the other was more like 'completely break the rules of the setting'.
>Since then, a third 'dammit, that's way too effective of a contingency plan' has been proposed to me in private.

As for the kindle/ebook version, I'm just running all of it through spellcheck to fix some spelling and grammar mistakes before I convert it.
>>
>>23150740

I also recall something something about the more flags we raise the more bad stuff is going to happen.

And we pretty much raised all of them.
>>
>>23150606
>I though I read that the worms made Sakura sterile

That's some fanon I've seen bandied about, but AFAIK Nasu mentions nothing on this topic.

Also, consider using Tatari on Bytehost as another resource. IMO the Type Moon wikia is a good way to get general info on a subject, but on a lot of the side materials (stuff like Angel Notes, artbook-only characters, etc) they can be a little fanwanky. I'd not demonize the wikia as some folks do, but I'd not take anything there as general canon.

>>23150740
I want to praise you for making this work. i'm always eager to see long-ass threads stuff like quests condensed into readable forms, and this is no exception.

>>23150867
I'd not get too cocky yet. I'm a touch of a pessimist, so I could be overly down, but I think there's still quite a few things floating around out there.

The Shinji thing is the biggest thing bothering me right now. He seemed unnaturally good-sported about the whole "I lost my chance to achieve to my former best friend" , and that last letter he sent almost had a tone of regret about his mistreatment of Sakura.

What could have made him have such a change of heart that not only did he lose gracefully, but he didn't rant about how his sister captured his birthright.

Also, should we invetigate the ruins of the Matou home. One of the options in an old thread was to go there after we cured Sakura, but then Archer went LOLOLO TRAITOR and we got sidetracked.

Perhaps we should investigate the rubble and see if we can scavenge something there?
>>
>>23151097

Agreed,

...

Shinji must be working for
1. The dead apostle thats been going about
2. Avenger... thinking about it. He did mention that some boy was working for him

>"I get her." Avenger says with a smile. "I'll need some help for what I'm planning, anyway. The boy I recruited before simply isn't going to cut it."

3. Zouken, its always possible that Shinji's nice grandpa caught up with him.

4. Himself, Shinji is working some MIND CONTROL MAGIC so he can make our Harem NTR.....Errr... Forget that last one.

I need to stop reading crappy Fate/stay night doujins.
>>
>>23150740
I think one of those plans involved projecting the Jeweled Sword, plugging it into the Grail and getting all the relevant Servants free mana.

I dunno if this is the 'absurd shortcut', 'setting breaking' or merely a 'contingency'. But step #1 already guarantees we draw the attention of Zelretch himself, so at that point maybe he'll be able to do something about the screwed up Grail.

I have my own personal "Screw you, Gil!" plan, but it involves items that should be there and the steps all going smoothly.
>Have non-contracted Shirou go through those catalysts Kiritsugu left for him. Go for the snake.
>Summon Gil. Due to the current situation, he may end up as Berserker.
>Command Seal #1: Show me ALL of your treasury. Copy them all in front of him for maximum trolling.
>Command Seal #2: Kill yourself.
>???
>Profit
>>
>>23151513

Can your really summon a servant that has already been summoned?

Then again.... seeing that his is the Nasu universe anything's possible.....
>>
>>23151513
Wouldn't a better use of that first command seal be "Kill your Impostor from the previous war"?
If we watch the ensuring battle, we're going to see all of the noble phantasms they own anyway.
Then, if our Gilgamesh wins, we order him to kill himself. If our Gilgamesh dies, he at least weakened the other one for us to finish off.

Now, seeing as one Gilgamesh counts as much as three Servants in regards to filling the grail, we should probably try to fix Ilya so she won't die before attempting this.
>>
New plan.
Get caster to rule breaker everyone in their sleep and have a chain of servants.
Then gangfuck Avenger with all the remaining masters and servants.

Also get that sword bike working. Ask Archer for help.
>>
>>23151590

"Ah! Rider-san! Your dick makes my ass-pussy feel so good!"

"Didn't you listen to your own Servant, Rin? He was the bone of his sword... a shame you never got to know it like I did!"

That comment from Avenger is worth noting. I thought Shinji had been turned into a tumorous magical battery The fact that Avenger hasn't completely rewritten his biology for magical shits & giggles has me wondering.

I personally think he's dancing to Avenger's tune, but that's mostly due to this shit about a vampire being so very vague. Avenger, we can divine his motives and personality. But this vampire? We know sweet fuck all about its goals, actions, or even if if likes strawberry over chocolate ice cream.

>>23151513
Shit. Doing that with the Jeweled Sword would be a dirty-assed way to fuel the Grail without any sort of murder. Providing we can excise Avenger's polluted ass from the Cup Of Wish For Anything, we've pretty much broken the setting. Every Master can get a wish, no one has to die, and all we have to worry about is breaking the world and having Gaia sic Primate Murder on our asses for being cheating fucks.

>>23151590
We'd have to confirm Cain Broserker as -10 HP dead, which is still pretty up-in-the-air right now. (He's not on our side or coming back soon, AFAIK).

I don't think this is possible, but this is the Nasuverse, where rules only exist to shatter to show how awesome our protagonists are.

>>23151672

>>
>>23151590
>Can your really summon a servant that has already been summoned?

Sure. Heroic Spirits exist outside the flow of time, so they're immune to pesky things like paradox and continuity.

Not saying WE could pull it off since we can't summon one without help from the Grail, and tricking the Grail system like that involves a whole shit-ton of knowledge that nobody but MAAAAYBE the Einzberns have. But in theory nothing prevents it from happening.

>>23151976
Saber has A ranked magic resistance, and it's the only reason why she could resist it to begin with. Lancer had Battle continuation, which made him not die when he was killed.
Gilgamesh has E ranked Magic resistance, and no battle continuation. We should not have as much of a problem if we were to order him to kill himself.
>>
>>23151976
>That sounds all fine but if saber and others can resist command seals I don't want to see how long Gil can last. Certainly long enough to kill us for offending him.

Yeah I'd seriously worry about that. The last time Gil didn't like a Master he had him killed and jumped ship to a new one more to his liking.
If he was summoned as something other than Archer it might mitigate the risk since his rank of Independent Action would go down, but it still sounds way too risky to me.

Dammit, the one night I go straight to bed after work.Ah well, at least I'm here for round 2.

Is it possible Avenger has Avalon? He did take a Gay Bulge and survive. It could be the gift he spoke of.\

We should try and convince Ilya to bring the maids over for a couple reasons
1. Hijinks! Someone else to fight over the kitchen. And I wanna see how Sella reacts to the news that Kiritsugu didn't abandon Ilya, the Einzberns kept him away.
2. She lost Bahsahkah, maybe could use a familiar face
3. Back-up. We're down a Servant and Ilya's got a near servant-tier maid as a body guard. We could use Leysritt around

I dig out Dad's notes, and try to find the box of catalysts used in the last war. There's a chunk of wood, a piece of torn cloth, as well as some sort of pendant. Looks like a charm.

I open the book and read over what I see, and discover that he was 'gifted' an artifact that would guarantee that he summoned THAT Saber. To ensure there was no chance of a mix up, a secondary artifact, a piece of the table, was also provided. Reading his notes, it's obvious knowing Saber's identity what he was talking about.

He makes mention that the shard of wood in the box wasn't the one he used, but from what he could tell might have been from the same table. Apparently he found it in connection to the Matou's champion, but that doesn't help me in the now.

I keep looking for everything I can about Saber and the artifact mentioned only in passing. I get notes about how to best handle and work with/around her code of ethics and her somewhat aloof attitude. Thankfully everything I read I either already know or doesn't bother me at all. Then I find the passage I was looking for.

"... At first I thought it would have no effect, since without a connection to her magic the Sheath was useless. I tried anyway, but it seemed to have failed even when I took you to the hospital. The Doctor told me you were already dead, but that it's possible to revive people if they're still fresh. It's obvious now that there was enough of her essence left behind in the sheath for you to heal properly, especially since years later there's no sign of the physical scarring...."

Beyond that he says that if I summon her, Saber's sheath is likely to keep me alive as long as she is, assuming I'm careful.

Judging by how he spoke of it, I should have it IN me somehow, but reaching inside all I can feel is what I now know as the connection to my Reality Marble and my magic circuits.

>>
>>23155561
I'm thinking that maybe it's not in one piece, incorporated into our body all over. No idea how to check that aside from using structural magic to check each and every cell which yeahno.
>>
I think back to the sword I held, the one had visions about when Rin fed me that jewel.

I hold out my hand and focus on it. I try to reproduce it. but I can't.

I already created it, but it's a blank slate in my mind. I already projected it, but it seems to become something different every time I try to trace it.

My mind begins racing, trying to comprehend. I feel like by taking parts of other swords, I could make something similar, but that feels wrong. It feels... backwards.

Instead of different swords becoming it, it feels more like pieces of it becoming different swords. Like a common ancestor, but that doesn't make sense. Every root I try to follow twists around others while never touching. There's no common origin for the myriad of blades. Glaceing over my armory piece by piece, the answer becomes clearer and more confusing. Such a blade like this doesn't exist. It CAN'T exist. But I made it happen anyway. but it can't be projected.

I remember Rin's exasperation at how I keep seeming to do the impossible, but I've never managed to feel the same anger towards myself.

A paradox. An impossible blade I couldn't imagine if it didn't exist. Eventually I surrender, forcing down waves of nausea and rubbing my temples to relieve the newly arrived headache. And all I can think is one word: 'Folly'.

Torn cloth was Broskander's cape, although Waver probably wouldn't have parted with it unless Kiritsugu killed him for it. The amulet is probably Diarmuid;s catalyst.

Well. Avalon was in us at one point in time. There should be something about Avalon that still in us, either some sort of remnant of its power or something... but Rin hasn't really found anything, and Caster didn't find much when she went to scry for it IIRC.

Go to Caster and search us for any remnant for Avalon / have her scry Avenger and see if Avalon is inside him (if, for some reason, Avalon is the gift that he wanted back) / think back and try and remember our first memories of the fire and see if we can somehow get around whatever is blocking our memories of what happened?

Granted, I have no idea how we're going to get around that last one, but I'm tired and I'm throwing ideas at /tg/ and seeing if any of them stick. Goodnight /tg/

".... No changes. Which is good, since he's not getting any worse. Whatever his condition is, it's not something actively attacking him." She sighs. "But since it's not actively doing anything, it's hard to tell exactly what the problem is. It's some sort of a mental block, but I can't tell how I could break the enchantment."

"Would healing magic work?"

".... I can't see how."

"Potent magic, really powerful. Like the kind that might bestow immortality." I clarify. To my surprise, Caster winces heavily and turns away.

"No. Healing magic can seal wounds, but this isn't a wound. I've already tried to break curses but it doesn't seem to have any affect. Unless your solution has some sort of shield for the mind that can be adapted."

I glance in Saber's direction. "If it could have done that, life would have been easier on my kingdom and much harder for the two insane wizards running around." She remarks dryly. Caster glances between us, clearly trying to puzzle out Saber's meaning.

There's a moment of silence. "Actually, he's here right now. Should I just hand the phone to him?"

I agree, and Archer's voice comes over the line. "Shirou. Listen, Gilgamesh and Avenger are apparently holding somebody hostage. They said something about making sure their 'minion' make sure the seals are holding when I spoke with them."

"Wait, you spoke with them?"

"Avenger thought I was going to help them kill you, since we had a prior arrangement that didn't work out." He responds easily. "Currently I was supposed to be looking for a good chance to take a hostage and force you into a trap. Then Avenger decided he wanted a word with you for some reason."

".... Alright." I tell him. "By the way, exactly what happened to Souichirou? Did you do that to him?"

"Not exactly. Avenger gave me a needle that he said would get past any defense Caster had set up, and he put some light poison on it to misdirect somehow. Why?"

"Trying to help Caster heal him."

There's a long silence, before Archer repeats himself in a more exasperated tone. "WHY?"

"... Because I want allies, we have no reason to fight, this puts her in my debt and I kinda want to root for them romantically?"

Archer's silent for a long moment, and I hear what sounds like a loud 'clap' on the other end of the line. "I can't decide if you're brilliant or retarded."

"Let's see how it works out before we decide." I respond. "So any idea what he did?"

"I don't know. He never told me what sort of curse was on the needle, and his magic blocks my attempts at a trace. All he told me is that it's 'completely hilarious' and 'trust me, it's poetically flawless'."

"Well that's fantastically unhelpful." I respond with a sigh. "Anything else you needed to pass on?"

"Not now, but I'll be in touch." He then hangs up without another word. I shake my head, and leave my room. Sakura's chatting with rider in the living room, but I don't see Rin. Apparently their lessons are over for now.

No. Shirou Urobuchi is the Shirou of I Put On My Robe And Wizard Hat. Basically, imagine if Shirou had grown up with too much free time and an internet connection, because Kerry managed to keep Ilya, hooked up with Taiga, and instead of adopting Shirou, got his neighbor Ren Urobuchi (a charicature of F/0 author Gen Urobuchi) to do so.
Point is, this is EXACTLY the kind of shit that Shirou would find hilarious.
>>

Maybe not so much anymore, since we're regularly inviting a True Ancestor over for tea.

Rin will probably just be exasperated at best.

I start walking towards Sakura, and stop as I pass Caster's room. Planting my hand in my face, I turn around and walk in the room.

"Caster?"

"Shirou?" She responds, mildly surprised. "What is it?"

"Have you tried kissing him?"

"... Th-that's-"

"No, I'm not talking about your personal life. I mean as a cure."

"...what?"

"You never heard the old fairy-tales about- Never mind, you probably didn't." I say, shaking my head. "Just give it a shot. If it doesn't work then we've lost a couple of seconds."

".... You're really sure about this?" She asks nervously looking around.

"I don't see how we could have terrible consequences arise." I tell her. "Besides, I'm pretty sure Avenger is exactly this kind of an asshole." I back out of the room to give her some privacy, and pull out my cell-phone. A quick dial to Ayako's line and she answers.

"Hello? Shirou? Did something happen?"

"No. Well, kinda. I'm not sure. I got some sort of vague information about a friend of mine maybe being in danger and wanted to know if something weird happened to you. Or if you noticed anything."

She's quiet for a moment before responding. "Apparently Shinji hasn't been back to school since.... the incident. Also, Issei might have been spying on me."

"I wouldn't worry about that." I tell her. "I kinda asked him to make sure nothing was wrong at school and he knows you're a friend of mine."

We make small talk for a minute and I make sure she's actually alright before hanging up. Saber approaches me a moment later to tell me that Souichirou's started to stir but is still extremely out of it.

"What exactly did you tell caster to spur this sudden breakthrough?"

"... That true love conquers all?" I respond with a shrug. She blinks, and then smiles slightly before returning to her post.

I grab the last of the porridge and reheat it. Passing it along to Saber along the way to tell Rin that I was stepping out.

"Shirou? Did a kiss really cure him?" She asks me confused.

"Well yeah, specific curse. True love was a required component, but it was a cursed needle and an enchanted sleep." I shrug as though the answer is obvious.

"Rin?" I tell her, knocking on the door. "Stepping out for a minute. Shouldn't be gone for too long."

"Eh? She responds, distracted. "What's going on?"

"I figured I'd go talk to Shinji, if he's really in the woods."

"Be careful." She responds, somewhat distant.

"Yeah, that'd be a nice change of pace." I respond under my breath as I head to the door. Sakura and Rider pass me to speak with Tosaka, and I give them a nod before grabbing my coat and stepping outside.

I wander around near the entrance to the woods, and after a couple of minutes I realize something. Shinji's not really an 'outdoorsy' kinda guy. With that in mind I looked for the least brush, and the cleanest path, and pretty soon spotted some sort of tracks nearby.

I began following them, and as I do I can feel the boundary field Caster and Rin spoke of. It's not really affecting me, but I'm suddenly aware of it's presence as I walk into the woods.

I follow the trail for several minutes, before stumbling upon some sort of camp. I can see Shinji 'touching up' some sort of wards around a shack using what looks like a stick covered in tar. He seems to be mumbling something to himself. Not an incantation, more like the sort of grumbling he'd let out when forced to clean up after class. Like he's receiving some sort of undeserved treatment.

Curiously, I note a tent nearby that looks to be a good fifty feet into the bonded field, while the shack is almost as far outside it.

I don't think he's noticed me yet.

Looting the Treasury of Ur:
My original plan was flawed, as I had assumed Gil was using the big Gate of Babylon to toss weapons at us after Shirou identified him as Gilgamesh. He'd need the Key present to do that, I think.

According to the Character Sheet AC-Guy posted, Gil has been using 'The Seal of the King' (whatever that is - ring, pendant, giant gold-plated peacock feather) to access the Treasury via the Gate of Babylon.
We can't copy the Seal, either because it's outside the purview of Shirou's abilities or he hasn't actually seen it.

To copy the Key to the Gate of Babylon:
Steal / break / copy the Seal of the King. Presumably, Gill will need to use the Key to re-open the Gate and fetch another Seal. There's Shirou's chance to nab a copy of the Key.

Unlike Ea, I assume either the Key or the Seal should be copyable, as the Treasury of Ur has been pilfered, allowing weapons such as Ghram, the Sword in the Tree, to travel West to Europe and become Caliburn, the Sword in the Stone.

Of course, the easier way might be to contract with Gilgamesh and / or simply ask him to teach Shirou how to be the best Archer in the history of Archers. To 'Pass the Name of Gilgamesh through the ages as one to be both Respected and Feared' or some such.

Of course, its always possible I'm wrong / mistaken / ignorant / horribly misguided and this is a bad idea that will only lead to teats and broken dreams.

Does Gilgamesh have a sense of 'Fair Play'? He definitely seeks 'Entertainment', and is willing to fight Servants 'beneath him' for amusement.

What I find interesting is, in the VN, IIRC, Gilgamesh was pissed once he found out Shirou was a 'Faker' - this Gilgamesh was more bemused than anything else. An interesting change.

We could possibly bribe Gil. He's interested in owning Saber, Excalibur, and reclaiming weapons lost from the Treasury / adding weapons and treasure to the Treasury.

If Shirou possess the Conceptual Essence and Origin of Sword / the very first Legendary Blade, that's something Gil would want to own.

As for Ko-Gil, if someone can figure out a proper challenge /reward that might convince Gil to do it, it will have my amused support.

Sorry for the slow posts, I'm on a phone.
>>
I creep around the camp. First to the tent. Shinji's clearly been living out of it. It's definitely comfortable and nice as far as tents go, but no camping experience is really a substitute for someone used to a warm house and a soft bed.

It shows in Shinji's expression. His clothes look slept in and he flinches and his eyes dart with every snapping twig. There's also some sort of warding rune around his camp, so it seems like he would be safe there. I don't get too close in case it's also an alarm of some sort.

He finishes his task, and walks back to his tent with a weary expressing, beginning to mix some sort of tea over his meager campfire while warming himself. He looks so much like a beaten and lost puppy that it's almost cartoonish as he mopes, pausing from his depression only long enough to shoot a paranoid glare at a snapping of a branch or the sound of snow falling off a distant tree.

After he settles down, I walk over to the building. The markings seem similar in design to the other strange ones I've seen around town, but even an amateur like me can tell they have a different purpose. I can feel it 'pushing' against my senses magically, so I'm guessing at least one of them is to prevent scrying or other kinds of location by magic.

I get close for a better look, and I realize the goop he was painting with looks like the stuff Ilya sucked out of my arm. The stuff that Poured out of Avenger like blood.

Inside I can hear a faint sobbing noise. It sounds like a scared little girl to me, trying not to be heard.

Back off, Call Arcuid - Shinji might be working for the vampire, and as such, we're in over our weight class. While that hasn't stopped us before, its also lost us a good ally. Keep Cain's last lesson in mind.

If the little girl is to be vampire Chow, you've got until sundown (assuming Natsuverse vamps work like Stoker vamps).

Worst case Scenario: the Vampire IS the Little Girl.

Calling Lancer (Rune Magic) and Kirei (Executioner) might also be wise.

Fuck text speak - I write in full letters on a normal keyboard. I started with an S35, which was imo even better than that Nokia everyone loves, due to its fucksmall size. I wish Siemens would still do mobile phones.
Well, my Nokia N95 with Symbian and my Lumia 900 with WP7 both can connect streams of text messages. I'm not sure about the phones that came before, but I think at least my two other Nokias, the 3510i and one a bit more modern one, could do the same thing.

It just seems like if you wanted to hold a vampire hostage, then a shitty tent in the middle of nowhere with Shinji as the only guard seems like a horribly risky way to go about it, runes or no.
>>
>>23159266
He can, or at least Archer can, but it's such a Mana hog his other projections are almost always a better choice.

...Avenger/Gil didn't somehow capture Arc, did they?
>>
Guys, I think we need a clarification on technology level of the setting.

...Then again, it doesn't make much of a difference. Elevens never used SMS, they always used email.
>>

The older nokias like the 3310 were actually unable to string multiple smses together. It was the generation after that which could. This left us with that despicable 150 character limit that everyone hated and the development of sms text speak was only natural.

Dude no. That is SO far beyond their means. We've already determined Avenger is a pansy by Servant standards, and Gil might be able to KILL her if he got Ea off before she vaporized him, but the amount of collateral damage involved would be visible from space.

Hmmm..

Maybe there are only two other small girls in the series and one of them can't be seen normally.

But she, crying?

Doesn't sound like her TBH.

Or it could be more shape shifting shenanigans courtesy of Avenger. We already have 3 shape shifters here.

Alright then, Roll call. What females do we know of that are currently unaccounted for?

Bazzet is obvious, and has anyone seen Taiga lately?

>Taiga
>sobbing
It's probably just some random kid.

In that case?

>"Can you try and pass a message onto Archer for me?"
>There's a moment of silence. "Actually, he's here right now. Should I just hand the phone to him?"

Oh god, Is Archer going for the Issei Route in our stead?
>>
>>23159349
Its probably just some random girl.

Vampire seems dumb, for reasons already stated.
If its Bazzat, Lancer would be on a rampage by now.
Taiga doesn't fit the bill, because really? "Scared little girl"?

Also, isn't it still daylight out? We shouldn't have to worry about the Vamp for now.

I say we either sneak attack Shinji and pump him for information MGS-style, or try to sneak the girl out before he notices us.

From Twitter.

Welp, speculations, theory crafting and action planning time!

I say we give Shinji what he deserves.

We DID promise to wreck his shit if he did anything lolevil again, and holding a girl hostage pretty much qualifies.

Calling it in as (one of) Avenger's plan.

Okay, analysis time.
>The markings seem similar in design to the other strange ones I've seen around town, but even an amateur like me can tell they have a different purpose. I can feel it 'pushing' against my senses magically, so I'm guessing at least one of them is to prevent scrying or other kinds of location by magic.

Same looking runes as the ones scattered around, but different purpose.
Why use this anti-scrying on the shack, but not on Shinji who is easier to track?
Why all the preparations and Gil and Avenger mentioning to make sure that the seals are holding together?

There's something more to this, so let's not jump to conclusion right away. Maybe it's Shinji who was stationed here because he's just expendable.
>>
Can we recap what we actually know about avengers plan other than assumption? Cause if he's trolling instead of killing souichibro and possibly trying to power the grail with a vampire this mite be gud...
>>
>>23159795
Sneak up on his ass, trace swords and hold them behind his neck with a reinforced hand clamped over his mouth.

"Kidnapping little girls, Shinji? So you're a rapist AND a pedophile?"

Let him struggled, just a touch. Hopefully he'll wet himself again, for maximum humiliation.

"Quietly explain to me exactly what you're doing out here, who you work for, why the shack is painted in Satanic jizz, and the identity of the hostage inside the shack."
>>

This. I like this.
>>
>>23160341
Sounds like a plan.
Shinji already used his get out of jail free card, no more mister nice Shirou.

Someone should probably archive this.

Already done. We did it yesterday during the break.
