As an update for Overhuman, I'm starting to get an idea of the major events that will be happening next, the next time I run that quest, expect some more intense situations!

Previous threads are here!
http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags=Grand%20Ocean%20Quest

A Trader in the East Ocean blue seeks to make her fortune in the world, for the better or worse! Take the helm as you steer her into fortunes and heroism or Villainy and Tyranny!

Play as Ophelia Reers, the Merchant Rogue sailing on the Ocean Blue with her growing crew!

Last time, the crew promised to make amends for wrecking a village in the East Blue by rebuilding it as a Trade hub for the Merchant's Guild.
After taking what spoils they could from the Ali-Ali Pirates, they set sail for Loguetown.
'
Ophelia spent the voyage gambling and chatting up her crew, as well as developing her Katai Katai no Mi(Hard Hard Fruit) powers.

Upon nearing Loguetown, a stranger appeared on her ship seeking a piece of treasure procured from the Ali pirates.

Offering his "services" as payment, he introduces himself as Nicolas Le Lobo, and demonstrates the powers of his Warp Warp fruit!

Upon arriving at Loguetown, Ophelia investigates a woman and a clown arguing on the dock, to find that they are the infamous Buggy the Clown and Iron Mace Alvida!

With the help of her new loyal entourage, Nicolas Le Lobo, they subdue the two pirates for an additional bounty!

With the bounties turned in, Ophelia decides to take her crew to the pub to make merry and let some good times happen! However, Nicolas had suffered a wound during the fight, and refused to drink the spirits in the pub.

Leaving Jojo and Bartleby alone to have their own fun, Ophelia tends to Nicolas's wounds, and returns to find the pub aflame and Bartleby taken into Marine custody.

With the events that transpired pinned on Jojo, Ophelia confronts him, only to find out that Jojo is actually a human! And a Her!

Set sails on the wind of Profit!'

With this stunning revelation I take the tasteful approach and examine her ass, scrutinizing the contour, the shapeliness of it.. and just as she's about to say something, I silence her with a rough yet tender grab.

"Seven out of Ten, not bad."

"W-what?!"

"The ass was fat."

"The ass was what?"

"Your ass is fat."

"Goddamnit..."She actually looks a bit disappointed.

Nicolas is still traumatized...

For whatever reason, much of Jojo's pent up aggression's been released upon showing her human form.

"Ok, I'll bite, so what's your story Jojo?"

"My name's not Jojo, it's-"

"Jojo, go on, tell me your story."

"I'm telling you my name's-"

"Jojo."

"Yes?"

"There you go."

She's quiet for a moment, and I notice that her eyes are still dead... must be why it translates so well into her animal form(Note: Think perona eyes.). Annd she starts.

"I used to be a part of a pirate crew called the Bigtimes, we didn't really get much of a score at anything until we hit that island with what you know as fuck'n blast sand... You know, that shit's pretty damn classy I mean... Just leave it and BOOM! Ya know? Well... We were exploring the island when those fuck'n islanders showed and we decided to make them a god. We thought they were just some stupid asswipe tribals and decided to play it up, I was the messenger of their god... But after a bit, we noticed that the island had started rumbling... We thought it was just some seaquakes or something. But then the island moved and they decided that the island demanded sacrifices. Only, they decided that my fuck'n crew should be the sacrifices.

Then after months go by, your dumb ass shows up, puts me in a bag, and takes off in her own boat...

I'm off that shitty island right now though. It's fuck'n great to be at sea again. But hey, I gotta exercise my freak'n wit somehow right? It's nice being on a ship... But come on lady, ya gotta stop shootin at me... makin' me molt early!"

"That's... quite the interesting story..."
>>
She looks away with her eyes, and then back, as though she's expecting me to say something... Finally she blurts it out herself," Jojo..."

"Good girl..."

"Don't you patronize me, ya bitch!"

- - - - -

Some time later, we're at the Merchant's guild, and thankfully, Nicolas is back in his "West" mode.

I meet up with the Loguetown representative with intention to speak of rebuilding the town that I... heh.. ruined... into a merchant guild trade hub.

Stepping into the head Office of the Loguetown Merchant's Guild master, I take my seat as a squirrely little man with fox eyes sits across from me. His desk is far too big for him, however I can tell by the quality of the wood, that it is no cheap thing.

With a cheesy smile, and the trace of his finger, he says," You like it? It's made of the finest wood you know, from the Treasure Tree Adam... No less than one hundred years old and still... remarkably new... Near indestructible even... What news do you have for me?"

With my own shiesty merchan'ts smile," Well, now, you see... I've sold all of my goods to some valued customers that had visited the Island that you chartered me for, but..."

A sliver of his eye cracks through his fox-like face," But?" He doesn't like that word.

"I sold them to pirates, and then, I realized my honest to goodness mistake, and took back my wares as they began to torment our valued villagers..."

His other eye opens slightly,"And?"

I start sweating a bit, this isn't going to be good," Well, you see... I might have overdid my heroism, a teensy little, itty bitty..."

Both of his eyes are open now," Get to the point Ophelia, dear...."

"I took out half of the town to deal with the pirates and I promised to rebuild it, courtesy of the merchant's guild, with the addition of turning it into a trading hub!" I spit it all out fast, figuring he won't have time to interrupt me.

His eyes close, he spins around in his chair, silent for a bit until..."So, you promised to rebuild the village on behalf of the guild... hm? And to turn it into a trading hub at that... Not quite the bad idea... But."

"B-but?" I'm anxious to hear his response.

"But it will never do, the town is not centralized, there's not like to be much profit in this investment for some time..."

He needs convincing...

Expansion! If it's not centralized, MAKE it that way!
>>
>>23193786
I agree with this.
How much can you tell us/do we know?
>>
>>23193786

Ophelia knows that the island possesses various resources, and she encountered quite a few animals in its jungles. Bartleby has told her that the islanders typically make money off of the exotic fish that they catch, and he's found many interesting plants in the jungle that resulted in his various experiments.

Ophelia's skill at navigation allows her to know, that there are some rather strong ocean currents running towards Loguetown.

Establishing a hub there implies another merchant's guild headquarters in the east blue.

I gather my wits about me and prepare to play this Game of Merchants...

Relaxing my posture, I put my hands out casually,"Well now my good sir, you sell this island awfully short. I would not have made this offer to them if I did not believe in the investment!

As I recall, there is a very swift current running from the island and to this very town, how else would I have gotten here so quickly?

Further, this is expansion, an extra stone to bring materials into the grand land. An associate of mine has discovered many rare plants to be used for making goods, we need only get the villagers involved and we will see our- your coffers grow. To turn down such a deal would not be wise my friend, for a wise man can smell profit on the wind..." I reach out and gently grab the air, solidifying an orb and holding it.

"And you need only catch it..." I disperse the solid air," Before it drifts away."

The fox-like man's begun rubbing his hand together," Oh hoh ho... Miss Reers, they were right about you.. You sure do have a way with words." He snickers.

"Very well, I will approve the rebuild of that island... However..."

There's always a catch. Always.

"However, you must do something for me."

"Oh?"

"Yes, you see... We have reports from our branches in the Grand line, that there have been reports of merchants, our merchants selling Dance Powder..." He spins around in his chair dramatically... How does he do that with such short legs? "If you are familiar, it is a black market good... One that would tarnish our reputation if it was known to be sold by our guild."

He spins around again," You, Ophelia Reers, I would like you to investigate the country of Alabasta and find out who's selling and who's buying this good. We've lost contact with our branch in the country."

Seems that he intends to send us to the grand line, and what's more, get involved with a dangerous underground...

Grape juice would be put before the door of general stores, and a sign would be placed in front of the barrel of grape juice. On the sign, the following warning would be written:
“This will ferment into wine if left out for too long. Please use before it goes bad.”

What?
>>
>>23194485
It was the era of the Prohibition. Although every period developed its own fashions and trends, this country had to choose an “alcohol-free society”.
But the end result was to raise the allure of alcohol, and even people who had never drank alcohol started to enter the black market for it... That is to say, the introduction of the new law had the ironic effect of increasing the number of ‘criminals’.
This “grape juice” sold like hotcakes. In short, this was the kind of era it was.
>>
>>23194505
The golden era of the Jazz Age was past, and only last year America was struck by the Great Depression. Even the streets packed with red-roofed houses seemed to have lost their vivid color.
But lurking in darkness of streets were the ‘leading stars’ of the era, who fought off the Depression and maintained power. Commonly referred to as the ‘Mafia’, they had strong footholds in the trade of illicitly-produced alcohol.
That was to say, the government’s policy of ‘Prohibition’ actually provided the perfect breeding ground for these enemies of law.
As the bosses of Mafia, Al Capone and 'Lucky' Luciano together created countless ‘legends’— the 1930s was that kind of era.
>>
>>23194505
>>23194531
While I applaud your poetic summation of early 20th-century American History, I think we're worrying less about the law here and more about reputation.

We've gotta get Bartleby out of jail before we go anywhere, and we might need to upgrade our ship--maybe with something that utilizes Ophelia's powers? Hell, if Mr. 3 can make a boat run using wax, we can find some way to make condensed air do the job.

The Grand line is only the mightiest, and most profitable ocean in the sea! Of course I'll accept this deal, in fact, it's better than I expected, hehe... I had an inkling of going there anyway, why shouldn't I take such an offer... but first...

"I'd love to accept, but I'll need to know some fine print here..."

The man's eyes crack open again, ever so slighly," Mmyes?"

"First, Who is the head of the Alabasta branch? He'd have some stake in this, right? Why have we not had contact?"

THe fox-man twirls his mustache casually," The Head of the Alabasta branch is known as Crazy Hassan. He is my brother..."

He turns around a picture on his treasure-tree desk," He runs a very successful used camel emporium there... I told him he should sell other goods... New camels, riding ducks, silks, and so on... yet he's managed to make profit beyond all of my expectation... My brother is truly a mad genius..." The fox-man slouches in his chair, seeming to be ttroubled by speaking of his brother.

"Communication has always been troubling, he refused to use transponder snails as they weren't camels... So a secretary under me reported on his findings... the secretary has also gone missing... We aren't sure what's happening there..."

"I understand... Well, what if the people selling the black market goods don't listen?"

"You're a smart woman, Miss Reers, and this is why I like you... You should know... we'll pay to have them brought in for our own justice.. No need to involve the Marines. We can deal with our own."

"With that said, what's the highest priority here? The guild's reputation, our men, or our deniability?"

"Reputation, supplies, deniability... The ones not following guild rules? Optional."

"Remind me now, why can we not sell black market goods?"

He glares at me with his slits," Miss Reers, if the guild is caught selling black market goods, there will be a government investigation and we could be shut down as a crime ring.

We do not want the Marines involved, nor our good reputation tarnished, simple as that."

"Finally, why me?"

He smiles at this," You're lucky, charismatic, and you can take care of yourself. Perfect for this job... Oh, and you're indebted to me for the rebuild, so of course I'll call in this favor."

I see, he's playing the debt card... He's the head of the Loguetown guild for good reason...

"Well, with all that, I'm satisfied, I accept, however I'll need a bigger ship and supplies."

The fox-man laughs at this," Oh, ohohoh, Miss Reers, you're a riot! You have your own finances, we're only here to pick you up after a bad deal and direct you to who wants or needs what. Selling and transport are your problem right now... I also hear you've turned in some bounties..."

"How did you-"

"Fighting a 15,000.000 beri bounty on the dock is a very noticeable thing Miss Reers. Alas, as you have accepted, I'll have you sign papers for our deal, and I'll see you off then!"

I meet Jojo and Nicolas in the lobby of the Guild Office.

I almost can't make up my mind in whether I'd like to stop by the shipwright, or the marketplace... However one good look at Jojo's rags turns the table on that.

"We're going to Market," I say, eying her refugee/islander scraps.

Jojo notices the stare and flinches away," What?! Why the fuck why?!

Patting her on the head, with a deep fox-like stare into her eyes, I crack a sinister smile," Why? Because you look like something Davy Jones dragged in, we're going clothes shopping, and Nicolas is coming with."

Nicolas perks up at his name, and tips his hat to hide his blush," N-naw ma'am, I can't. It'd be unkind for me to get in th' way of your ladies' time."

"No. no, I insist. Besides, I'll need help getting Jojo into something..." I turn my head back to her with an evil glare. Ohhh, I'm going to enjoy this...

Ricardo's fine tailoring drew my eye with its absolutely classy sign. Not too flashy, not too shy.. Somewhere right and inbetween.

Jojo digs her nails into my arm," Nu uh, I don't want anything from, there! You! You can't make me wear anything in there!"

I grab her by the arm and glare into her empty eyes as she starts to sweat," You'll wear whatever I tell you to... I've got a reputation to uphold, I can't have you looking like this."

She ceases her protests, and we walk into the store, Nicolas holds the door open for us, I hear him say "Pardon" to a stranger that saw me threatening Jojo... My, isn't his West self just a gentleman?

Once in the store, the owner, whom I'd presume is Ricardo clutches a hand to his chest, shouting,"HNNNNG!!" As though he's having a heart attack.

"What... What is this!? You call those clothes?! That- That'll never do!" He yells, and runs past another customer at the counter, grabbing Jojo and I. He drags us into a fitting room and runs a series of measurements on us, and starts asking questions as to what kind of clothing we like...

Jojo refuses to answer, so it's up to me...

We need multiple outfits.

[X] Something comfortable, wearable, and seaworthy.
is her prime outfit, but make sure it shows off her ass properly and has some midriff showing.

For fancy hobnobbing things we should get her a Little Black Dress, make sure it's properly slinky.

Also ask Ricardo where a good salon is, we have to fix this girl up.

For us, our primary is
>[X] Something as Sea Worthy as it is Roguish.
Make sure that there's a bitching hat in there, soft leathers, plenty of pocket space, and that it still shows off our ASSets.

For business negotiations a classic black suit and some ties. For fancy parties a more flamboyant suit.
>>
Get Jojo something she can't bitch about.

Also, something that breathes well for us. Remember where we're headed.

Weskit time. They're both classy and practical, and if worn with the right flare, provide an air of roguish charm.

I can. I can see Ophelia having a gigantic fucking wardrobe and switching outfits often. That's for casual around towning, dressing to impress is different, depending on whether we're trying to play up the sailor, the hot chick, or the business woman aspects. And we need a fancy fucking hat when we're at sea.

This for the aforementioned practical outfit.

She also needs a black suit to match our black suit, and we both need sunglasses so we can go full Reservoir Dogs on people.

I decide on getting Jojo something comfortable so she bitches even a margin less about the whole deal. However, I covertly instruct Ricardo,"Please make it a bit slutty, I'd like it to show off her better features.."

He looks at Jojo with some scrutiny, appraising her harshly," Her features? My dear, you ask for Ricardo to do the work of God... However Ricardo is certainly capable of such things..

Jojo is fit into ( >>23195895 ) a corset with a tied shirt top and soft leather pants that accentuate her slightly chubby rear splendidly. Her outfit shows off her midrift and overall, she actually looks like an eight of of ten woman... with me being the standard of ten, of course.

"This... this is fuck'n weird! How expensive are these clothes even!?"
Ricardo runs his fingers along his goattee, once more appraising the foul-mouthed young woman,' Well, that outfit... I've never really like that piece of work, I'll give it to you for 32,999."

"What the hell?! That's ridiculous man! I aint pay'n for that!" Jojo screams.

I give her a glare and she rolls her eyes, falling quiet.

"I'll be the one paying Ricardo... now as for me..."

Roll for haggling.

Sorry, scratch that crap... still doesn't sit well for me... (talking about rolling)

We've decided on buying a bunch of outfits, but of course, Ophelia likes her money as she is a Ferengi-channeling Jew.

How do we haggle?

We play to our strengths. And Charisma is our strengths.
>>
>>23196070
Tell him to look at the scruffy Jojo, the foul mouthed girl before him, a challenge that all but the most skilled tailors would simply give up on. Point out how she's ill-mannered, coarse, and no one could possibly make her plumage of hair look elegant.

Unless of course that person was a superb tailor, who could dress up this girl in fine outfits that complemented her perfectly and show his skills to the world.

Basically make him WANT to do this for us, make him think that him dressing this girl will make him famous, it will show off his skills, and we're doing him a favor by letting him at her.

This will be using Charisma, with some cunning on top.

As for me, I'm certainly going to get out of paying for this!

"My good sir..." I curtsy pleasantly," Ricardo."

"Hmm?" I've got his attention, now let's grab him.

"Your assortments of clothing are so fine, so beautiful, so... so... Complementary. Why, I am surprised I have not heard of you as far as the West Blue!"

Ricardo appears bored, yet flattered," Oh, please, please my dear. You do me too much kindness. I am but a humble tailor after all."

"Dear me? You? Simply a tailor? You are an artist! Look at my once rag-tag friend here! Think any ordinary Tailor could manage this? No, no.. Only one of the most superb talent could match her with an outfit this well after a few measurements, and fewer words. You are a god among tailors."

He becomes red with embarassment," My, my... you do me too much kindness, far too much indeed!"

Now, let's see if we can seal..."I have a proposition for you."

"Hmm?"

"We will pay you by advertising your clothes and hawking some of your wares. Why, you'll have falf of the grand line wanting to order patterns from the Great Ricardo!"

Ricardo strokes his goatee once, more, considering this offer.
"I cannot simply let you leave the shop with my work... However, I will sell them at cost if you'd like."
