As an update for Overhuman, I'm starting to get an idea of the major events that will be happening next, the next time I run that quest, expect some more intense situations!

Previous threads are here!
http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags=Grand%20Ocean%20Quest

A Trader in the East Ocean blue seeks to make her fortune in the world, for the better or worse! Take the helm as you steer her into fortunes and heroism or Villainy and Tyranny!

Play as Ophelia Reers, the Merchant Rogue sailing on the Ocean Blue with her growing crew!

Last time, the crew promised to make amends for wrecking a village in the East Blue by rebuilding it as a Trade hub for the Merchant's Guild.
After taking what spoils they could from the Ali-Ali Pirates, they set sail for Loguetown.
'
Ophelia spent the voyage gambling and chatting up her crew, as well as developing her Katai Katai no Mi(Hard Hard Fruit) powers.

Upon nearing Loguetown, a stranger appeared on her ship seeking a piece of treasure procured from the Ali pirates.

Offering his "services" as payment, he introduces himself as Nicolas Le Lobo, and demonstrates the powers of his Warp Warp fruit!

Upon arriving at Loguetown, Ophelia investigates a woman and a clown arguing on the dock, to find that they are the infamous Buggy the Clown and Iron Mace Alvida!

With the help of her new loyal entourage, Nicolas Le Lobo, they subdue the two pirates for an additional bounty!

With the bounties turned in, Ophelia decides to take her crew to the pub to make merry and let some good times happen! However, Nicolas had suffered a wound during the fight, and refused to drink the spirits in the pub.

Leaving Jojo and Bartleby alone to have their own fun, Ophelia tends to Nicolas's wounds, and returns to find the pub aflame and Bartleby incarcerated

With the events that transpired pinned on Jojo, Ophelia confronts him, only to find out that Jojo is actually a human! And a Her!

Set sails on the wind of Profit!
>>
Last time: Ophelia made a deal to rebuild the town that she had destroyed with her dial gun!

The conditions: To investigate a scandal with the Dance powder being peddled in the land of Alabasta!

From the guild headquarters, she heads to the market to buy some more acceptable clothing for Jojo.

Meeting the Fantastic Ricardo, Ophelia acquires a slew of outfits from the great tailor!

Now in the market...
>>
As for me, I'm certainly going to get out of paying for this!

"My good sir..." I curtsy pleasantly," Ricardo."

"Hmm?" I've got his attention, now let's grab him.

"Your assortments of clothing are so fine, so beautiful, so... so... Complementary. Why, I am surprised I have not heard of you as far as the West Blue!"

Ricardo appears bored, yet flattered," Oh, please, please my dear. You do me too much kindness. I am but a humble tailor after all."

"Dear me? You? Simply a tailor? You are an artist! Look at my once rag-tag friend here! Think any ordinary Tailor could manage this? No, no.. Only one of the most superb talent could match her with an outfit this well after a few measurements, and fewer words. You are a god among tailors."

He becomes red with embarassment," My, my... you do me too much kindness, far too much indeed!"

Now, let's see if we can seal..."I have a proposition for you."

"Hmm?"

"We will pay you by advertising your clothes and hawking some of your wares. Why, you'll have falf of the grand line wanting to order patterns from the Great Ricardo!"

Ricardo strokes his goatee once, more, considering this offer.
"I cannot simply let you leave the shop with my work... However, I will sell them at cost if you'd like."

With a pleasant grin, and the order of clothing being directed to my ship, I step out of the tailor and point to Jack's rifles and guns just down the street. Jojo doesn't need to be dragged this time, though she follows along in an annoyed fashion with her seaworthy, yet revealing new clothes.

"Why, ugh WHY are ya dressin me like a slut ya bitch?! I didn't need any clothes! I'm fine as a fuckin' bird!"

"Bah, I couldn't have you looking like some kind of castaway while on my crew, hm? Besides, those rags showed much more of your features than your current clothes... Be grateful I'm willing to spend money on you...

Oh, and if you destroy them... I'll be docking your pay."

Her mouth hangs open," Yer, yer gonna pay me?!"

With a charming wink," Why yes, I am. All the crew gets their own pay, after all, you're in service to the greatest entrepreneur in the world!"

With a fading scowl, she even kind of smiles," Alright, all right... Guess I can deal."

Stepping into Jack's shop, we see a shady looking man at the counter casually polishing a rifle barrel as though it were a wineglass, and he a bartender.

There are a large assortment of fantastic and to the point guns on the wall, along with the standard rank & file arms that Marines use.

"Jack" nods his head to us upon our entry and simply says," Tell me what you like."

Jojo doesn't seem all to interested in the firearms...

Nicolas seems to be eying some of the pistols carefully...

None of the crew has a precise incentive to stay.

Nicolas already saved ophelia's life and scored her 20million beri.

Bartleby is a graduated stowaway that likes to explode things.

Jojo is slightly thankful for getting off the walking island.

Also, any good merchant pays their employees... especially since with money, they can land into a beautiful thing called debt.

Curious of my companions, I lean a bit on Nicolas, near humming as I ask him," Well, what are ya looking for there, partner?"

Tipping his hat as he regards me from the side of his vision," I jus' reckoned I could use me a better kind of gun. My own's off quite a darn bit.."

Hmm, I know a thing or two about guns.. He seems like the type that'd like more power than accuracy.. though I can't say for jis other personalities.

"Honestly, I'd like somethin' that just feels right in mah hand... Somethin'.. Hmm... That's not exactly normal..."

Jack seems to be interested in our conversation, yet chooses to remain silent.

I strut over to Jojo, who's leaning by the door with a bored expression, seems she really doesn't like guns," What are you, not impressed? I'd think a pira- I mean, young lady like you may have some interest in the arms... Hm?"

Jojo doesn't seem too pleased," Pffft. Ya shoulda asked me then, bitchtits... I fight with hand and claw. You don't remember me lugging that buffoon crybaby around? I'm shit-ton stronger than I look! Fuck off, I don't need a gun. . . Though I could use some handwraps or somethin."

Same Jojo as usual... Heh...

Finally, my curiosity of Jack's hidden stash fills my mind... I mean.. every weapon shopkeep needs to have a stash, right?

"Hello there Jack!"

With a smirk, he stops polishing the Rifle Barrel, with the cloth removed, I can see my own reflection in it.

"Hello there, Good to see you again Ophelia... How'd that town like my stock?"

"Well, the good rifles didn't need to be sold... However I did con a bunch of pirates to by the shitty ones."

He chuckles in such a handsome fashion," I should expect as much from such a shiesty trader as you. Always keeping the good stock in the back..."

With an innocent smile," Why, whatever are you talking about? Isn't that how you operate?"

"Yes, only my best customers get my best."

"What'll it be Ophelia?"
>>
[X] Ask Nicolas what he's looking for here.
[X] Ask Jojo what kind of weapon she'd prefer.
[X] Ask about any special weapons he may have. What about some crazy ammo. I sure that's all over in one piece. Like some instant sealing ammo for capturing people/emergency boat repair(gel or cement?) or when some ammo hits the surface it burst into some weird gel material that allow you to bounce on it. I'm holding on the crazier ideas because odds are those are at the grand line somewhere.
>>
Jack gives me access to his best stock... I'll likely not be returning here once I set off for the grand line... what'll it be?

Just throwing it out there--we can't forget about Bartleby. We gotta pay his fine or spring him before we set off.

Have him look over the dial gun. We have a general idea of what it can do, but it might have some more tricks we haven't figured out yet.

[X]Ask about any "interesting" pistols he may have. (for Nicolas)

By the way are we planning on taking reverse mountain to get to the grand line? I forgot how normal people do it. I know for a fact we can't get use the calm belt to get to the grand line because that would just get us killed..
>>
>>23210962
That's pretty much the only way in we have.

Ask him about what he has avaible for gun upgrades then when he isshowing us his stalk wave Nicolas over to have him discuss any interesting pistols for his many personalities as in which ones would compliment each the best. As for the wind gun i doubt he will know much considering its specialty item but that doesn't mean we can't find any upgrades for it. Also bullets as in i am talking armor penetrating(for the rare armored enemy/cover), hollow point(especially useful considering its one piece), incineration, ice, net, seed(plants), bug, and concussion/gel rounds for live capture

>>23210962
Unless we manage to acquire a Navy ship that is what we have to do.
>>
>>23210962
>taking reverse mountain to get to the grand line
unless we have a marine warship(protip we don't) reverse mountain is the only way into the grandline
>>
>>23211035
ooh crap also forgot to include looking for bladed and Sea Stone bullets as well.
>>
Looked up the some things from the wiki... Just need a kairoseki-lined ship hull and some kind of propulsion to take the calm-belt route.
>>
>>23211228
Yeah, and the Marines kinda keep how to line ship hulls properly with that quiet. And they also seem to have pretty much all the supplies of it as well.
>>
The problem is kairoseki is rare and expensive. It also doesn't protect you from the calm belt if the sea kings SEE the the ship.
>>
It's not that big of a deal though. Just getting to reverse mountain is a adventure in of itself so if we train our devil fruit skills and get a decent crew together(we still need a navigator among other things) we could be fine.

I consider this carefully, we're going to need a good start in the grand-line.. there's only a few of us so far... and I still need to spring Bartleby from the Marines...

But first comes first, I need arms.

"So Jack..." I remove my brace carefully, laying my father's six guns on his bar. "What could you do to outfit these?"

With a raised eyebrow, Jack smiles, taking out the piece known as "Luck."

"I believe I could do something with each of these... I had made these guns for your father before he went down on his luck.. But you just might be able to get farther with these... I can outfit them all with mods unique to each piece. For instance, this one here, I can outfit to better correspond with your inherent fortune... The bullet fired from this very well could be a saving grace..."

"I'll keep this in mind, the cost?"

Jack smiles," Well for you, and because I know these weapons, I'll do it for two hundred thousand Beri. I'll close the shop and rush the order if you'd like... For closing the shop, I'd usually go no less than five hundred thousand... You'll find these guns do much more than you expect them to..."
Jack smiles kindly, though I see the same merchant's greed in his eyes that I would find in my own.

"I'll definitely consider it, now... I'd like you to have a look at this as well... I place the wind gun on the bar as well, he raises an eyebrow at the thing, and examines it carefully.

He manages to remove the shell-like thing on the side and examines the components for around ten minutes before reassembling it.

"I'm afraid I can't tell you much about such an odd thing.. No ammo, no hammer, only a trigger with a gauge next to it... Where did you find such a thing Ophelia?"

"Heh, you probably wouldn't believe it even if I told you..."

Jack shrugs and drops the subject.

With a wave, I call over Nicolas and warps next to me, startling Jack.

"What in the-"

"Warp-warp fruit, pardner. What is it Ma'am?"
>>
"Nicolas, what kind of a gun might you be looking for? Jack, Have anything that'd suit a priest?"

Nicolas scratches his scruff," Why, I can't say what it is.. by the light, I'll know when I see it..."

Jack smiles," By the light, eh? Not familiar with that... but I DO have a gun of curious origin I'd like to be rid of..."

I raise an eyebrow as Jack goes into the back and I hear another voice.

"Kyaaa! Hello master! Have you finally decided to acknowledge our relationship!? Hunnh, why aren't you sayi- mmffmmrovvvrooomashr."

W-What?

Jack comes out from the backroom and sets down an odd piece with multiple chambers for ammo in the side.

"This here is a six shooter, it's like the one your friend has. Charming mechanism allows for more than one shot. The barrel of this one is in amazing alignment... But."

There's always a catch.

Jack undoes the white cloth binding it, and the end of the barrel talks,"Ohhh, hello good people! My name is Lily, and I'm a gun! Ohhh, I'm so shy, being so naked in front of other people that aren't massster... Heehee!"

A... talking gun?

"Yeah, it's a bit odd. When it came in, I thought a girl was trapped in a shipment... but I eventually found this, and realized I wasn't drunk or insane... So upon discovery, I remedied the first bit... Heavily... She likes to talk."

"Eeeeh, I love new people! Who should I fill up with holes, hmm, hmm?"

"I'll give her to you for five thousand Beri... That was the cost of shipment from where I got her..."

>[] Purchase the brace upgrade.
>[] Purchase Lily.

ALL OF THE OPTIONS also ask about ammo he might have and don't have him rush the order . We still got other stuff to do like springing Bartleby and finding some more crew.

Hmmm, I see I see. It's just that we've had rumors going about of a bounty hunter going around these parts without a government ordained bounty hunting license.

The Marine recruiting station is a few blocks down, we're looking to hire privateers and we license bounty hunters, provided they go through with proper protocols. And remember remember folks, if any of you are in need of three square meals a day, a chance to work, and the honor of protecting our way of life ect. ect. you know where to go.

Carry on.
>>
Well, seeing as the total's only two hundred and five thousand beris when they're implements that could very well save your life... why not?

However..

"If it weren't a rush order, how long would it take?"

Jack raises an eyebrow," Well, without the rush order, I'll tend to the pieces as a priority while the shop doesn't need direct attention... Hmm... I'd give it three days, Hundred thousand Beri."

"Well, I can wait. After all, a rush order may lead to a lower performance... I'm placing my life in these guns, can't have failure, ya know?"

With a nod, Jack understands," And what about Lily? Will you take this blasted thing off my hands?"

Nicolas smiles as he picks up the chatterbox gun," Yes, yes, I reckon this is a fine piece. I'll make good use a' her, granted that the lady would have it."

He spins the pistol around as she laughs and giggles like a little girl.

I slip out the beris for the transaction and put the Dial gun back in a holster.

"Pleasure doing business with you miss Reers."

"Oh, before I go... any special kind of ammo or other nice guns you have?"

"Alas no guns that come close to the quality of your brace.. or Lily... However I do carry some Kairoseki rounds... They make Lily sick.. and I'm not quite sure that your friend here could load them... being a fruit user...

It just dawns on me that I wouldn't be able to touch or be near Kairoseki rounds, lest it weaken me... Oh well..

"I'll have to pass then too.. See you in three days Jack!"

Jojo seems to breath easier being outside of that store.

"I didn't like it in there. Damn black powder and crap... I think your ridiculous shooting's given me ptsd or something.. goddamnit..."

"Oh, whine, whine. You coming along or not?"

"Tsk, well I've got nothing better to do."

Nicolas speaks to his new piece, Lily," Well, what in tarnation can y'do besides fire bullets?"

The firearm rings," Ohhh, I can do all sorts of things for my new master! I can shoot by saying, Blam!"
>>
A shot goes off into the air, whizzing past Nicolas's cap. It... didn't really look like a bullet...

"Blam blam blam!" She goes on, seeming to have fun as she giggles, shots going off." I look putting holes in people, I can do it more if you like!"

Nicolas looks perturbed," By the light, this beauty and i were meant to be..."

"Oh master, I love you too! Heehee!"

Well, at least he's happy... Where to next?

Clearance past most World Government ports, ships, and towns. Stipends for raiding listed hostile nations and enemies of the state.
Distinction between abductions and bountyhunting, theft and commandeering, piracy and privateering. Assistance from Marine forces in combating enemies of the state. All you have to do is pay a small portion of any goods or treasures captured.

The longer you maintain this license, more benefits and freedoms will be given. And there is the bonus of converting your experience at sea into maritime rank. Why some of our greatest captains and a few vice admirals started out as lowly privateers before climbing through ranks without ever being in them.

Also it exempts you from the mandatory storage clearance and confiscation of contraband before leaving port.

lets see if they have some gauntlets or a cestus for jojo
>>
With the evening coming on, you have time for one more shop before the night of Loguetown comes.. and the less than savory types are on the prowl.

Jojo seems a bit more enthusiastic than I had expected for her to be in going to Shivering Steel Swords... "Ok, this, this shit I can get behind! I mean, I like fist and claw, but let's see what they have yeah? They better have somethin fuck'n good or I'll screw the shit outta this pla-"

I lock my eyes onto Jojo, death glare," You had better not be planning on costing me any money with needless destruction... Hehe, hehe..."

"N-no, Sure as shit I wasn't! Ah, hehe, let's see what shit these good fuck'n folks have for our cuntastic enjoyment, Y-yah? F-fuck yeah?"

In the shop, we see a short fat man, not unlike Bartleby holding a claymore, swinging it down into a huge slice of meat. "Shivering Steel Two Handed Sword, It slices, it dices, it protects your ship from pirates! Why wouldn't you want to get such a fantastic sword?!"

A strong and large man glares down at us from the side of the door. The fat man laughs," Oh, oh, that's Bruckus! If you steal from us, he'll chop off your toes! Welcome to my shop good customer!"

I strut right up to the odd Fat man," Ok, look here fat-man, I've got a bitchy chick that likes to use hand to hand weapons that are colorful, any advice on that? Oh, and a cowboy wizard Samurai that needs something befitting of him... His current sword doesn't seem to be up to the task that I'll need him for."

With an ecstatic slam of his hands onto the slabs of meat he shouts," Have I got the weapon for your friends!"

He runs into the backroom, damn near waddling, and brings out a sword with a crossguard a hand and a half pommel, and a slightly curved blade with a golden wave in it.

"This is just the sword for your friend! Shivering Steel's finest sword of mixed works, modeled after shichibukai Mihawk's very own blade, Yura! Yours today for the low price of 399,000 beri!"

cold steel make crappy blades of course he's cheating me
>>
>>23213135
But how can a person with a bounty collect a bounty, without automatically being pursued/jailed for said bounty on himself?
>>
>>23213142
I have a cunning plan to get at the good weapons, not the tourist bullshit, and get a price break at the same time.

Ask if they can provide us with a demonstration of one of their blades. Make them chop something with one of their swords, use our Hard Hard Fruit powers to harden the FUCK out of whatever they're cutting. Act 'shocked' at the poor quality of their weapons, imply that something like this may get out and people could hear about it.

Give him an evil smile and tell him to show us where the actually good stuff is, make him sell it to us for next to nothing, and if Nicolas wants the sword we can get that as well for a fraction of the price, he wouldn't want the Merchant guild spreading how Shivering Steel blades couldn't cut a (Something).
>>
>>23213180
If the person he kills or captures has a higher bounty than him, maybe he could use it to pay him off.

Probably getting a license or letter of marque removes any existing bounty's, or helps you pay it down .

Honestly, any good merchant could see such a ruse coming from a mile away.. Bring out something saying that it's based on absolute greatness, perform a quick demo to capture attention... The one thing that I would've done is go so far as to offer a buy one get two free deal for such a ridiculous price...

"Act now and you'll get a second one free!"

Annnd there it is....

Nicolas scrutinizes the blade with sheer curiosity, while Jojo ponders about the various blades of the store.

From Nicolas's holster I hear," Master, you big meanie! Why would you want a blade when you've got me?! Hic.." A silent sobbing comes from the same spot and Nicolas breaks away from the blade to console his gun... Hmm, and I was crazy enough to talk to my guns... at least his talks back...

Ok, I've got an idea.

"Good sir," I put on my merchant's smile," I would very much like to buy one of your blades, provided that they are of the quality you say that they are. Would you please give me another demonstration, only, with this sword?"

"Why certainly I would! Shivering Steel would be happy to oblige such a simple request! Bruckus!"

The large man at the door, turns and salutes," Yeasss Bawss?"

"Bring me five bamboo sticks!"

"Yeasss Bawsss!"

The Doorman runs to the backroom and brings out A stand and places Bamboo sticks on each one. With a smile the fat man picks up the sword he had brought out and wields it with two hands.

"I'll be displaying the sheer cutting power of this fine blade! Please stand back, or I may just take a head off! Gyahah!"

As he raises the sword to swing, I concentrate on the first bamboo stick, making it as hard as I possible can.

He brings the sword down and with a resounding ring, the blade gets stopped by the bamboo.

The Fat man stares at the bamboo, dumbfounded and slowly working up a sweat.

"How odd... it's a fine sword, right?"

"Y-yes, it is..."

"Would you like to try again?"

"O-of course! That was just a practice swing!"
>>
From the other side, he brings around a swing, and once again, I harden the bamboo to the point that the sword bounces off of it.

The man begins to sweat again and laughs as he scratches his head. "Hah.. hah.. This is just a replica now that I think about it... would you like me to try another sword?"

"No, I'm quite curious about this one. The blade looked sharp, why wouldn't it be able to cut? Unless..."

I lean in with my most amiable smile," You weren't trying to cheat me or anything, were you? I'd love to tell the Merchant's guild that Shivering Steel sells weapons that can't even cut through a bamboo stalk. . . Though.. I may be willing to forgive you if you accept five thousand Beri for your "replica."

The Fat man laughs at that,"Miss, you can't be serious this swo-"

"-Replica can't cut, so why should I spend three hundred and ninety-nine thousand, beris on a cheap replica? Trying to swindle me? Could go out of business for this, ya know."

The man's face goes sour as he tries to explain himself, however I simply smile pleasantly, driving in the pressure.

Finally, he buckles," Okay, fine! Take the damn thing! five thousand beri, just d-don't tell anyone about this little incident, ok?"

"Three thousand."

"W-What?!"

"Two thousand, I changed my mind, I'll pay a thousand for the blade."

The man's dumbfounded," Just freaking take it!"
He hands the blade over and I give him five hundred beri. He stares at the small amount of money I've given and looks to me for answers as Nicolas takes hold of the sword, smiling appreciatively.

"W-what is this?"

"Five hundred Beri, you wouldn't ever charge a thousand beris for such a shit replica, would you?"

"N-no..."

"Good, I smile and we walk out of the Store with Nicolas's new blade, purchased at the steep cost of 500 beri.

That was quick.

Montique's Antique Boutique hopefully they got something good.

On another note op how many crew can our ship support anyway?
>>
>>23213895

I'd say, not being the smallest ship, we can have a crew of five. Though Jojo can just resort to Bird-form... So we've got 3 "occupying" space.
>>
Also someone mentioned we need a navigator...

As Ophelia had to deal with successful sailing on her own, she's adept enough to perform navigation without assistance. She's not top tier, however she stays on course.

Ranks up in Cunning will contribute to successful navigation.

>protagonist possesses the basic skills necessary to operate the vessels on which they travel
Are you SURE this is One Piece?
>>
>>23213989

Yeah, she's just more of a nami archetype so she's not a dumbshit captain and actually pretty seaworthy.

We'd have cause for concern if Nicolas were the captain...
>>
>>23214006
Nicolas would be the best captain ever and you know it.

He'd have 4 different flags to raise depending on his personality at the moment, the Southern one would be kept in a locked chest. The crew would have different masks to wear depending on 'who' was captaining at the moment.
>>
Also, ship positions should be more... Merchant-oriented, no?

we don't have enough cerw for it to matter

With that crappy store behind us, and a questionably decent blade hanging an Nicolas's back, Jojo runs herself into Montique's Antique Boutique, only for us to hear a scream, a very loud one.

Running in, I see that Jojo's been pinned down by an odd young lady with splayed out pig-tails, rubbing her cheek againsy Jojo affectionately, like a cat.

"Ooooo Montique's so happy to see a cherished customer! She nearly never sees people! No one wants a dusty antique... Ehhh..."

Jojo starts screaming," Get the fuck off me ya horny bitch, I don't fuck'n need this! You smell like a dirty ass-hippy, Blahhhh!"

"You love Montique's shop! Montique will sell you the most valued of old things!" The odd woman gives Jojo a hard lick, causing her to shiver through her body and lock up in disgust.

Rising, and wiping her mouth, the odd woman bows before us," More cherished customers! Please come into Montique's shop, which is me! I'd love to be of service!"

Seems that there may be other reasons that she doesn't get many visitors...

[X] Look around the shop.
[X] Have Montique Appraise the Odd gun you found.

Grope Jojo awake, give her a hearty slap on the ass.
>>
Well, this gun appeared quite old when you found it... Might as well have the owner of an antique shop take a look at my find...

"Montique."

"Hmm? Whatever is it cherished customer?" Her eyes are absolutely friendly and her body is relaxed, save for the fact that in her excitement she's moving around her hips in a near erotic manner.

Taking out the strange piece, I place it on her counter.

"Ohhhh, is that?!"

The young woman snatches the dial gun off of the table and immediately begins to examine it, scrutinizing it, and eventually pulling the trigger on it, blowing down at least half of the breakable baubles.

"Wow! Did you see that?! It was like all, Woosh! And crash!" Is she... even upset?

"This thing is awesome! I've like, read books about it, ya know? Gotta know about like, all sorts of crazy stuff for what comes in this little shop!"

"What the fuck'n shit was that?!" Jojo stirs awake by the door, sitting up and pitching a small curse-fit before seeing the broken items," Wha- I didn't fuck'n do it! Ca'nt blame it on me bitcht-tits!" She starts laughing in a near insane manner, almost as though she's in some kind of denial.

Nicolas steps over the goods and kneels before a statue of a buddha, meditating in the one clear spot.

"Hey master, what was that?! It sounded explody, and boomy! Can I see, I wanna see!"

East Nicolas ignores the chatty weapon...

Montique gets in my face with a nearly crazed smile," Oh my gawsh! Where did you get this?!"

"Well, you'll never beli-"

"Of course I'll believe it! This is just too awesome not to!"

"I got it from some walking island, natives there had it..."

"Ohhh wow! This must be from ancient fallen Skypeians! My books said that some of them came down and acclimated to the ocean blue like, a long time ago!

I'm amazed to see one of their Dial weapons! Why, if there were actual collectors out for such an antique, this'd be worth at least a hundred million or something!"
>>
Montique takes out a monocle and examines the piece more closely. "In fact, if I had the money to purchase... I'd give one hundred thirty million, two hundred and twenty five thousand and... one beri. The one beri's for good luck though, hehe..."

"Well, do you have anything interesting like that? Maybe some kind of weapon that covers the fist?"

"Ohhh, of course I do! I've got some Cesta from way back when the celestial dragons held gladiator slave-matches... Rumor has it that they still do such a cruel thing, however they use more advanced weapons than such. . ."

With a twinkle in her eye, Montique leans over the counter, ignoring the uncleared, shattered baubles...
"I'll make you a deal.. I'll give you the Celestial Cesta for free..."

"What's the catch? There's always a catch..."

"Oh, no catch! No catch at all! Just... You take me into your crew or whatever. You said this was from an island? A dusty shop is horrible for seeing real life antiques and history in the making. I just don't have the money for an actual ship due to business being slow... Heh..."

When is the next Overhuman thread?
>>
>>23214546

I've been working out the major events that should be upcoming in the story.

It should be ready tomorrow.

Also, as I've said before, any Overhuman character ideas would be appreciated for expanding the thoughtpool... hehe...

>>
>>23214542

Are you trying to say that the noble Ophelia Reers of the Merchant's guild that can do no wrong is... an outlaw?

If you'd like to lead her on that route...
>>
>>23214615
Well, we're neither Pirate nor Military, and some of our dealings are a bit. . . shady what with the whole "sell guns to pirates, then kill the pirates and take back our guns" thing. So by the meaning of Outlaw (with a capital "O") used in Outlaw Star, we're borderline.
>>
>>23214615
I think he was referencing Outlaw Star, think free trader/ merc/ bounty hunter
>>
Well, it's all well and dandy that this crazy chick wants in on our ship and crew, which is becoming ever more strange... She won't be any use to me if she's dead. . .And if I'm paying her, a dead investment is a dead investment. . . Can't have that can I?

"Ahh, Montique... first things first... What qualifications do you have? The sea can be pretty dangerous.. and the Grand line? Oh, that's a whole other story..."

The young lady rubs her hands together eagerly,"Well, since this can be such a bad town, I've been training extensively in a martial art that uses Pressure points to take down baddies. . . I'm not as good as my master though, he could beat the stuffing out of people to heal them or bring them as close to death as possible..."

Hmm... Well, if she learned that art a bit more, she'd be a more reliable "doctor" than Bartleby.. His healing potions are essentially a 50/50 of blowing up or festering the wound... Not really a man of healing work... I sigh, I still need to deal with his release..

"So, my ship is a merchant's ship, what could you offer me in way of service?"

With a smile, Montique leans over the table, lacing her fingers together and turning her head to the side with her lavender ponytails bouncing,"I've shown you part of what I can do.. I succeed in appraisal.. My talents range from antiques to even the more mundane commodities... I can tell you the exact right price for something nine times out of ten... I'm also a good historian for what it's worth..."

Ok...

"Would you care to show me a demo of your skill? Perhaps against my brightly haired associate whom You'd so recently licked into submission."

"Ohhh, heheh... She was slow, to slow for Meenique! That lick was a pressure point based on the cat's tongue! It made her feel so relaxed that she could just pass out! But if you want a demo..." Montique steps onto the counter and leaps at Jojo, taking her by surprise!

With a tumble, Montique jabs Jojo a few times in the and neck, putting her to sleep.

"Hmmyaaa... She needs more training! Meeenique feels like she was a great fighter, buuut she's ruuusty!. Montique can take a good hit too, hehe... Come on, take her plurrrease?!
