The bombardment is devestating the Tau forces, with out ground troops quickly able to take out any survivors after each bombardment. It continues this way, until anti-air fire starts raining from the planet, forcing our ships to back off.
What shall we do now? The Tau anti air is too strong.

Would he survive going through the atmosphere?
>>
>>23386631
>>23386646

Let's have them begin to gather info.

It's a jungle world and we're a stealthy Hive by design - our genestealers/lictors should be nearly undetectable if they're instructed to only search and gather information.
>>
I suggest we get the lictors an genestealers planet side to lay-low, pick off those that come searching, using the lictors camouflage to distract and lead astray the groups to ambush zones.

Meanwhile, I'm thinking setting up some sort of "growth" on the nearest moon as an orbital bombardment platform, with built in bio-thrusters to help rotate the moon as needed.
>>
Hm could we crash one of the lesser bio ships into the planet yet it still be alive? Such as seen in "The last Ditch" we'd have plenty of ground forces then and the biomass on the planet would surely pay off

>>
hmm no sense of location though?
>>
>>23387182
How's our growth/base on the moon going?

As for the underground base, can we get some ravengers down there to assist in the locating of the base, what with their burrowing and acute senses.
>>
>>23387275
Only preliminary stuff is being done on the moon so far for a base, as we haven't decided if we want to ram the planet with it yet.

We make a shit ton of eel-like rippers and flood the oceans with them.

Then we just let the rippers destroy everything under water.

I do like the idea of swarming them. Tau aren't renowned for their close combat abilities, so we need to overwhelm them and get in close.

Having an underground base should make that easier.

Also, I do sort of like the idea of crashing the moon into nearby water - that'd flood the fuck out of their precious mine, too.

Flood the shit out if the base. Ravengers and other burrowing bioforms to burrow from the ocean into the base. For all we know this shit could be dangerous
>>
>>23387687
Well, the Tau are well entrenched in and the entrances to the base are a choke point. We need a plan.

I was gonna say, maybe have a force waiting at the entrance so as to cut down the tau fleeing from the flooding base. But oh well
>>
>>23387851
If this doesn't work can we try to locate the duct system for the mines(they have to pump in fresh oxygen. have our scout forces implant/take out the earth caste members manning the facility and start bio pools there, the eventual idea being to flood the mines with gas that knocks out/kills/whatever we want to do. I suggest something subtle that makes them go to sleep and eventually kills them so that way it doesn't seem like an immediate attack.

Another question: are the tau using slave races(such as human) that we can implant via genestealers

Unfortunately it seems the Tau prepared for this.
Right as the water pours in, a force shield goes up around the base. The water drains down holes they mined for this specific purpose. Luckily, we didn't lose anything in the flood besides a Ravener here or there.
>>
>>23388000
We have seen Kroot so far, though we have only fought small defense forces so far and info from our genestealers and lictors say there are other races here.
>>
Use the infiltrators to take ok the anti-air in some place to weaken the link, then mass assault the points of weakness

>>23388569

>>
>>23388665
... you are lucky we aren't rolling for anything. They have a smaller fleet than ours and almost seem too over confident in their decision to attack.
>>
>>23388679

This could be our chance then. Lets prepare to ambush them and try to eliminate their fleet wholesale.
>>
>>23388679
from any of our intelligence gathered do we know if they actually have a reason to be overconfident or are they just being silly naive tau?

nonetheless unless we want to run away from all that juicy biomass we are probably going to have to engage
>>
>>23388717
Our intelligence gives us no reason for the over confidence.
So, unless anyone has any other idea. 1d100+10 for superior fleet size.
>>
Well I refuse to roll anymore after that one, but, I have an idea. How is out moon installations going? If we can have the orbital cannons set up, when they attack our fleet, we can position ourselves between the two moons and flank them bombardment fire/boarding spores shot from the moons.

Opinions?
