First 42 threads:

http://archive.foolz.us/tg/thread/23072794/

Previously on Blatant Fetish Quest, our protagonist, Max Power, learned that 'he' was actually a female with male genitalia, as a result of having an incubus as a father. Three years later, Max, now fit and a martial artist, flew to Romania to enroll at the prestigious Scholomance, a school for magic meeting Liz, your new girlfriend, on the way. On arriving in Romania, you learned that the Scholomance is extremely deadly and that only half of each class proceeds to the next grade each year.

You joined the Lotus prestige society, befriended Dane and Lin, other Lotuses. Upon arriving at the Scholomance, a city-sized school hidden in a cave that's bigger on the inside, you discovered a tower and found an incubus who's probably your father chained up in the basement.

You're currently trying to balance Dextra Domini, rivals, commitments to your society, relationships, and studying while trying to survive. You're about a month and a half in. Your custom-built beast won the quiz and Liz made it into the Society of the Archmagi. Your dryad just hatched and your mommy-instincts kicked into high gear.

Some potentially traumatizing stuff just happened, Liz is comforting you, and Selene just woke up.

What do you do?
>>
>>23433860
put trauma behind us, and go see Selene
>>
>>23433860
(Didn't you do a new sheet because that one was getting cluttered?)
Just hold them for now until the memories aren't quite as vivid.
>>
>>23433860
42 threads in 21 days must be some sort of record
>>
>>23433912
Actually, no, Snapple did that sheet.

>>23433930
I think someone said the record for consecutive days of quest threads is 38.
>>
>>23433903
Selene is in with us. She had nightmares.
>>23433912
Snapple made the other sheet.
>>23433860
Stay in bed for a while longer, it's Saturday morning still, I believe, but we'll need to go to the Lotus sanctum later to try and learn about tattoo enchanting.
>>
>>23433860
Hug Selene "good morning sweety, mommy had a bad dream last night too, but it's ok thanks to you and mommy Liz being here for me." hug both of them, kiss Liz then snuggle for a bit. Roll to start putting our psyche back together?
>>
>>23433938
>I think someone said the record for consecutive days of quest threads is 38.
ac had less threads in the same amount of time
>>
>>23433938
>I think someone said the record for consecutive days of quest threads is 38.
at a rate of about 1 thread a day, so the shear volume you're running is exceptional
>>
>>23433930
I doubt it. MSQ ran twice a day every day for like a million threads, that's why people hated it so much. Well, that and the actual contents of course.
>>
>>23434014
Most quests don't have the player volume to need two threads a day because they autosage.
>>
>>23434021
True. On the other hand, most of the people bitching about it were complete assholes about it.
>>
>>23434021
that didn't start doubling up until thread 9
>>23434031
even if they do most don't go into the 600+ zone regularly
>>
You pull Selene over to you and give her a kiss on the forehead. She's still yawning and a little groggy. She's always like that in the morning when she sleeps in your bed instead of under her UV lamp. "No more bad dreams, sweetie?" you ask her. She shakes her head and snuggles up against you. She started seriously teething during the week and has little nubs of pearly whites poking through her red gums. "You want your bottle?" you ask.

She shakes her head, still snuggled up against you. "Burger," she says. Yeesh, ever since you gave her a taste of a pinch of cooked hamburger meat that you were using in a meal two days ago, she's been craving red meat. You're not surprised - it's food she doesn't have to sit under a UV lamp to metabolize. It probably tastes good to her.

What do you do?
>>
>>23434072
Head to the kitchen with Selene and Liz, prepare to have a very awkward conversation with dad...hopefully he won't be there.
>>
>>23434072
>"Burger,"
lets see what we can do about this, a distraction is just what max needs
>>
>>23434072
what kind of meat does max have in stock?
>>
>>23434115
Ground beef and some ham.
>>
>>23434072
Workout.

Then go take a shower and puke.
>>
>>23434178
We already had a cold, rough shower.
>>
>>23434072
Go make selene a burger. If we run into dad and Breakfast, tell dad to stop and that you need to talk with him privately. Hand Selene to Liz, head to another room, sit down and tell him what happened, that you know it's your fault for inadequate planning, but that things are going to be weird for you for awhile...
>>
>>23434183
We're still not clean enough.
>>
>>23434183
We are going to be taking a lot of showers that have squat to do with hygiene in the near future
>>
>>23434072
Take Selene through to the kitchen and see about getting her some breakfast.

We should probably prepare for a very awkward conversation with dad too.
>>
>>23434187
I oppose talking to it with dad.
No need to make things awkward for him too.

Make an effort to act normal, and forget about it.
>>
>>23434229
>I oppose talking to it with dad.
You don't think an incubus with five boxes of Enchantment might have useful advice here?
>>
>>23434072
No burgers for breakfast, it will make her fat
>>
>>23434254
No.
Unless you want to use magic to erase the memory. I support it, but people will say it's too dangerous.
So no.
>>
>>23434072
Let's just head to the kitchen with Selene and try to put this whole dad thing behind us.

I'd rather we not waste the next week in the shower blubbering, despite what some people might think. Sure Max is a little freaked out, but she's tougher than that.
>>
>>23434072
Give Selene a little burger meat, but mostly something healthy for breakfast. We don't want her to become amerifat.
>>
>>23434229
You trust us to excise the memory without screwing anything up? Repression is going to come back and bite us when we need it least, let's lay the ground work for healing, either through action or meditation
>>
>>23434171
FemCOCK, if Selene can eat meat can she eat eggs?
>>
>>23434269
Only if she eats too much. And given the rate she's growing right now that would be pretty hard.
>>
>>23434315
You haven't tried to find out yet. You know she can metabolize blood and, apparently, also red meat. Aside from that, the only thing you've fed her is her bottle.
>>
>>23434275
>Sure Max is a little freaked out, but she's tougher than that.
Right, but she'll also want to prove to herself that she only has negative feelings about this, and make a visible show of them.
>>
>>23434290
I bet that instead of getting fat, she just produces fruits.
>>
>>23434072
ham and eggs ham and eggs make some ham and eggs for breakfast for all
>>
>>23434332
We could always see if she likes ham too.

That would make things a lot easier if she's fully carnivorous, and omnivorous would be fantastic so we don't have to make any special meals for a while.
>>
>>23434072
well er could make her poached eggs, ham and do we have the stuff for holiday sauce?
>>
>>23434345
Perhaps, but it's balancing that out against showing herself to be weak and emotional, which as I gather from Max's background is something that she hates.
>>
>>23434298
>You trust us to excise the memory without screwing anything up?
If we get enough foci, and with a little luck on the dice, why not. I'm willing to take the risk (I know the majority isn't).
But I'm pretty sure dad could do it for us if we ask. And if it's not to ask this, I don't see any reason to talk to him about it.
>>
>>23434332
Probably not worth risking it then, is there anywhere in the scholomance that we know of to take her if she needs medical attention? Does our school even have a health office?
>>
>>23434400
I think the main reason to talk it out with him is that we're going to act weird around him, there's no avoiding that, and if he doesn't know why, he might think we're angry at him for something and it will make things even more complicated.
>>
>>23434398
No. She sometimes likes to show herself to be emotional. Remember how we slapped Liz. Or how we proposed to kill Sanjay because he didn't want to chat with us.
>>
>>23434432
This. Thank you for articulating what I have been failing to say.
>>
>>23434445
>how we proposed to kill Sanjay because he didn't want to chat with us.

That was just people being retarded.
>>
>>23434432
Just make an effort to act normal.
It will pass in a week or less, and things will not be complicated then.
They will be if he knows about it.

And after all, we're a teenage dickgirl. Some moodswings towards our parents are to be expected, and he will appreciate them as the sign of a normal, solid parental relationship.
>>
>>23434380
Hollandaise, you mean? That's probably quite a bit above Max's skill. It involves constantly whisking a lot of egg yolks being held at just the right temperature to melt butter, but not actually cook the yolks.
>>
>>23434497
I would be disappointed in Fem if he just let it pass through repression. I do not expect to be disappointed.
>>
>>23434469
Yeah, but FemCOCK likes to follow their suggestions and make Max retarded. That's the character we play.
At least in this case, being a bit excessive isn't a bad thing.
>>
>>23434545
really i think being 1/2 sex demon would give us a it more not giving a fuck not to mention all the weird magic shit going on every one is making a huge deal about a minor thing, that some people want to do with max to begin with
>>
>>23434516
Is it like lemon curd ? I tried it once, it was easy to heat the yolks without cooking them. I didn't have to control the temperature.
>>
>>23434545
I would be disappointed if he brought it up again, actually.
>>
>>23434546
When the clear consequences to excess are you die, you are irreparably crippled, deeply psychologically traumatized or get your friends, allies and family killed then no, a little excess is a pretty bad thing. The problem I have is when some posters don't really care that there are consequences to max's actions enough to think their plans through.
>>
>>23434583
whisk on a low heat its not hard just takes time
>>
You pick Selene up and take her up to the kitchen. You give Liz a kiss before you go. You make yourself some ham and eggs - it might be the only meal you have today - and a bottle for Selene. You give her little bites of your ham steak, which she loves, and try to feed her some of the eggs, but she spits them out and makes a face when you do. She doesn't like egg apparently.

By the end of the meal, she's probably eaten as much of your ham as you have, and finished off her bottle to boot. Well, she is a growing girl, after all. You give her a kiss on her little head. "What do you want to do now, Selene?" you ask her.

"Grandpa!" she exclaims.

"You want to go see your grandpa?"

Then she points behind you, grins, and again says, "Grandpa!"

Then you hear someone climbing down the ladder into the kitchen. "Hey, Max," your dad says, walking up and giving you a quick rub on the top of the head. Like he did to Breakfast earlier. "And hello there, Selene. Looks like you got some meat this morning, huh?"

How do you react?
>>
>>23434609
Yeah, but that's not the kind of consequences we face now.

There will always be players like that. My problem is when they get control of the protagonist.
>>
>>23434583
It's not quite the same. You're making a yolk/butter emulsion (three yolks to a stick and a half of butter) and you have to add the butter slowly to get the best results. Which means keeping it in that safe range for a while.

>>23434574
We're also half human and a 16 year old girl. We need to deal with it instead of pretending it didn't happen or it's going to have bad effects.
>>
>>23434654
Attempt to be normal around him.

With questionable success.
>>
>>23434654
Be cool. Act like usual.

Smile, say hi, and start talking about dreamwalking. Or was it dreamweaving ?
>>
>>23434654
she can see through the floor thats so cool
>>
>>23434654
Try not to panic. Mostly succeed. "Hey dad..."
>>
>>23434654
Keep cool.

>>23434672
No, real success.

>>23434658
>We're also half human and a 16 year old girl. We need to deal with it instead of pretending it didn't happen or it's going to have bad effects.
Let's just pretend it's not worth thinking about. It's just a bad memory. Sometimes it'll pop up in our mind and we'll groan in displeasure, but that's all.
>>
>>23434654
"Hi dad. Um, just so you know I might be a little weird around you for a bit, a spell I was trying worked differently from how I intended it and I'm really not ready to talk about it yet but yeah. Um..."
I still think he saw us in Breakfast
>>
>>23434708
She can probably identify everyone by footsteps now from two rooms away.
>>
>>23434654
"Don't be awkward, don't be awkward, don't be awkward."

and then Max was awkward.
>>
>>23434727
>>23434658
yet we had no reaction to killing to people with a rifle? your trying to make a problem when there need not be one at all
>>
Need I remind all of those of you who are saying we need to be completely cool and show no response to this.

Liz is going to be a little freaked out if we are completely normal around our dad after what just happened, and might start to question if we really hated it as much as we said.

I think a little nervousness is a much.
>>
>>23434654
attempt to not be awkward
>>
>>23434743
thats so cool we should praise her
>>
>>23434763
>is a much
Is a must, even.
>>
>>23434735
No, don't talk about it.
Just don't be weird.
>>
>>23434727
>but that's all
Unless it distracts us while mentally attacking someone, causes a roll fail and gets us killed. But I'm sure you're right that it doesn't work that way.
>>
>>23434654
Act normal. Scratch that. Be normal. It was a wierd and disgusting event and we won't think about it again.
>>
>>23434763
Liz is sleeping. And she trusts us enough, we can explain to her later that we're just going to put this behind us and keep acting as usual, and she'll understand.
>>
>>23434760
Situational differences. Some people can handle killing in the right situations, like when they're trying to invade our sanctum so everyone inside can be killed or enthralled.
>>
>>23434727
Agreed. It's just a bad memory. Nothing more.
>>
>>23434797
This. Then fail the roll. Any chance I can counter roll slowly turning our protagonist into a sociopath?
>>
>>23434787
You're right to be sure of that.
>>
>>23434797
Yeah, because it's just that easy.

Face it, if Max doesn't act at least a little strange, then she obviously wasn't bothered that much, and possibly has no emotions.
>>
>>23434832
Or is just good at repression and doesn't want the incident ever brought up again.
>>
>>23434806
Liz is awake. I do not think she would approve this level of emotional repression, but I could be wrong.
>>
>>23434850
Shouldn't have told Liz (or let it happen like that in the first place) if that were true
>>
>>23434860
She may not approve but I'm sure she'd understand. How many people would actually want to have that talk with their dad?
>>
>>23434860
We're the mistress.

>>23434832
Being good at hiding emotions doesn't mean having no emotions.
>>
>>23434883
We can share this with Liz. We can't share it with our dad. And we had the time to calm down since then.
>>
>>23434905
But Max has proven multiple times that she's not good at hiding her emotions.
>>
You decide to just try to act normal for now. You're still mostly just confused about what happened, so until you figure it out, it's probably just best to maintain an air of normalcy. "Just feeding Selene her breakfast," you say, giving him a smile.

Roll Soul to act normal. I'll consider the first four linked 1d100 rolls.

"That's good, Max," he says. He seems to have bought that there's nothing wrong. He comes up and gets a good look at Selene. She giggles and touches his stubble. "It looks like those buds on her head are going to start blooming soon. I wonder what color they'll be."

"Based on what colors she is right now, I'm guessing white or red," you say.

"Yeah, that's fair. Still, wouldn't it be something if they bloomed violet or something?" he asks, tossing you one of his grins. You notice again, for the first time in a while, that your dad is quite roguishly handsome. Damn it, this still feels weird even if you're not showing it. You can still remember what is cock felt like inside of you, for fuck's sake! "So, when are you going to head over to the Lotus sanctum?"

It's about 7:00 right now.

We could probably talk to Carl about the incest until Pavana gets there if she isn't alread.
Or not, but he's going to know anyway the second we set foot in the sanctum.
>>
>>23435299
Let's not bring it up, not because I'm worried about Carl's reaction, but because some people in the sanctum probably have super-hearing.
>>
>>23435299
I'm pretty sure Carl's not a mind reader. He may be able to tell that we're upset, off balance mentally and emotionally, but I SERIOUSLY doubt he'll know the specific cause.
Besides that, someone else might overhear.
>>
>>23435299
He's a nice guy, but I don't think we should tell him about our sexual accidents on the third conversation with him.

Lotus specialises in alchemy and enchantment. He's the lotus archmage who has mastered both of those to a ridiculous degree. Enchantment lets you read minds.

>>23435366
I'd like to ask him if he's the founder of the Lotus society, and who taught him living alchemy.

"I think I'm going to head in there early," you say. "I have a lot of stuff I want to do with people there this week. I might be there all day."

"Okay," your dad says. "I'll ask Breakfast and Gaviscon to help watch Selene. I'm planning on working most of today on extending the wards into the new basement layer and I would prefer not to take her outside of our current wards. I'll take her for now; you go ask Lin if she wants to go with you."

You nod and head off, finding Lin in the workout room meditating. "I'm heading to the Lotus sanctum now. Do you want to come too?" you ask. She doesn't respond, so you figure this is important meditation and leave. You get geared up and head out. The bonus to going places alone is that you can have a good, hard run instead of waiting for everyone to catch up.

When you arrive at the sanctum, you head on in through the red door and ditch your shoes. When you walk in, you find Carl leading a meditation session, Pavana hitting the bells, and your various other friends meditating in front.

Then you do a double take. Because Sanjay is meditating in the group too.

What do you do?

Let's give him a reason not to.

We should ask Lin, dad or Carl if the SotA picks a new student if the one they chose in a given year dies or disappears.
Somehow, I think they don't.

"Hah, no," you say. "I tried that the other day and it didn't turn out to well. I was actually more interested in hearing about your tattoos. I heard they were foci for wards."

"You heard right," she says. She flexes a little to show off her tattoo work - simple lines along her meridians, whorls of those lines at the chi points, and Hindi symbols at each of her chakras. "What would you like to know?"

What questions do you ask her?

"Will a regular tattoo gun work?" you ask.

"Sure, as long as your skin isn't too hard yet."

"Does what or where they are matter?"

"I think that them being aligned with the meridians, the chi points, the chakras help, but beyond that, I don't know. Just remember, the tattoos are forever; make sure you don't get something too gaudy that you'll regret in a few years."

"Which is better, permanently binding an elemental to power wards or making permanent foci that can be used as-needed?"

"As-need, obviously," she says. "Unless you never intend to actually use Conjuration yourself."

"Do you have any artists you would recommend?" you ask.

"I got mine done by Master Sanchez. By the time I got them, my skin was too hard for a normal tattoo gun, so I needed assistance. I really like how they turned out, though."

"How long does it take to activate them when you need them?"

"Just a moment. I usually have them up when traveling between public places and warded areas, sometimes I'll also put them up preemptively when I expect someone might try something."

"Why do so few people here have tattoos?"

"They're hard to conceal. The cost of having foci tattooed onto yourself is that people know that you have them. That's Dane's biggest criticism, anyway. He doesn't like anyone to know his capabilities if he can avoid it - he only talks about things that everyone already knows he has."

"Who's Master Sanchez?" you ask. Pavana points to a bald man with a goatee. He's wearing a simple tank top and gi pants.

"He's supposedly so old that he was a firstie before Carl was even a grand master. He calls tattoos 'tatau.' He used a stick and this weird hooky needle thing to give it to me. It hurt like a motherfucker, so I used Enchantment to block out the pain."

"Any advice for hitting the bell?"

"Get strong and tough. You don't get a special prize or anything for ringing them; they're for you to measure yourself, not to show off how tricky you are."

"When did Sanjay get here?"

"Today. He just joined. He's apparently been shopping around for the past month and ended up choosing us over the Walkers."

Worst case scenario: Turns out Sanjay is some kind of martial arts badass and he tries to tear our head off.
Best case: Turns out we're som kind of martial arts bad ass, hammer on him a bit, knock him down a peg, maybe he finds out there's some things he doesn't know, shift him slowly into friendly rival territory?

No matter what happens, we gain intel about his fighting style, and we can constrain ourself as needed to avoid giving him information.
>>
>>23435405

She's out of our league.
Let's start with 2nd-year opponents.

Ask her if she knows who can teach us martial arts, though. There's a lot of friends in this place, but I didn't see any teacher yet.
>>
>>23436819
If he attempts to betray a Lotus member he's going to end up dead. He should be smart enough to know that backstabbing the Lotus in any capacity is going to enact retribution, and that he's going to disappear without a trace. As far as adhering to Lotus principles goes, he's going to be forced to keep his mouth shut and treat us with at least a little caution if he's not willing to at least maintain neutrality or scholarly rivalry. I'm pretty sure even he doesn't want an entire society hunting for his head for compromising the fraternity.

Fuck. This means we can't murder Sanjay to get into 6th circle.
>>
>>23436681
I'm against this. Sparring with an enemy is never a good thing. It gives them as much of a chance to learn about you as you can about them, and we aren't the brightest tool in the deck, remember, so he'd probably glean more off of us than we would off of him.
Sparring is done against allies and neutral parties that we can rely on to stay neutral.

What we need to do is find out from Carl after his meditation is over about certain rules. Liz is under our protection above all else, and if Sanjay attacks her, we won't hesitate to kill or mindshatter him. We need to know what kind of repercussions we might face after doing this and prepare accordingly.
>>
>>23436871
Ask her about someone willing to tutor us in martial arts, then go meet this guy.

"Yes, I did. It was quite an ordeal. I think they turned out pretty nicely, though."

"I do too. I was wondering, though, if you do any tattoo work with modern tools."

"Of course," he says, giving you a little smirk. "I only had to use the old methods because Pavana went and made her skin too tough before considering its drawbacks."

Now that you get a better look at him, you see that he has tons of tattoos, most of them old and faded. Mauri patterns around his shoulders. African designs around his forearms. Some kind of Arabic-looking script spiraling around his neck. He's decked out.

I'm only guessing as a manner of facilitating discussion, but I would like to assume that all, or at least most of the burden of transgression is placed on the aggressor. Attacking our friends, and especially our lover, is aggressive enough to justify us reacting in a violent manner. We may have to meet with Carl and the other seniors if such a thing happens to discuss the incident, but if there's sufficient evidence/non-biased witness testimony that Sanjay attacked us first, we shouldn't be in trouble. At that point, we'd be fulfilling the upholding of the fraternity and secrecy of the society. Really, aside from catching us out in the open without another person around to see, just about every situation I can think of where Sanjay enacts aggression first would only result in Sanjay being condemned by the society, or end up dead otherwise.

At school? Assuming even one other person sees, someone's going to find out, and the Archmages will react accordingly if we don't kill him first in self-defense.

At our sanctum? It's obvious that the clock tower is OUR sanctum, and if he goes and attacks us on our grounds because he's so vengeful and hateful toward us, most of the Lotus are going to know we hate each other. We get off the hook because he broke into our sanctum and attacked us.

In the Lotus sanctum? Self-explanatory.

Sanjay is not a crazed murderhobo, and we should treat him as such, especially now that he's in the society. He has no need to actually harm us, as he's perfectly on-track to getting into the second, and, dare I say, third circles, even IF our group stays where they are through that time. Other than typical snooty disgust, Sanjay has actually, technically, not been directly aggressive or threatening to us in any manner of academia or physical well-being. He's been taking a few shots at our pride, but that's about it.

I mostly agree with the exception that it is commonly known that the clock tower is our sanctum. We are doing everything we can to prevent that from getting out. I Sanjay knows, all he has to do is slip the info to dextra and nemesis
>>

>>23437246
We have to assume that he isn't an idiot, either, though. It will -eventually- come down to either us or him, and if he seeks to reach the Archmage class through underhanded means, then he's not going to be stupid enough to attack Liz out in the open. I don't think -anyone- left is stupid enough to attack where neutral parties can see except maybe the Dextra idiot.
And with the kind of own-group solidarity we've seen at MurderHogwarts, I wouldn't be at all surprised if they don't care that we and Liz are lovers, and do whatever it takes to prevent any infighting in the Clan.
>>
>>23437290
Eh, I was thinking it would probably be easy to work them into the Celtic knot, world tree and serpent containing designs that have been suggested.
>>
>>23437327
Even then, if we find out who told the Dextra, Sanjay is going to end up dead. The only reason he would tell Dextra or Nemesis in specific is because he somehow knew we were a demon, and had found our clocktower. If you can point the informant role back to Sanjay, the Lotus will react. That's just hiring grunts to do your dirty work.

Also, the clocktower scenario is under the assumption that he found us. We don't have to tell them our sanctum is the clocktower, we just have to make note that he broke into our place of living and attempted to harm us and our other residents. That being said, Lotus members would probably not disclose the location of our sanctum, even if they found out. Secrecy and what-have-you.
>>
>>23437269
>>23437193
I don't like those too much. I find them too gaudy and exotic.
We could pull it off if we were a celt, but we're a new yorker.

I'd rather have lines of text in english and a modern font. I like lines of text, if there's no abuse of capitals and the correct spacing between letters, words and lines is used.
And they can follow energy lines.
>>
"Yes, I am. I'm hoping to use them as foci just like Pavana. How well do they hold up with time, though? I notice some of yours are faded."

"As long as you use good ink and treat your skin well, they hold up just fine," he says. He actually smirks. "These are faded because they're both very old and not of the best quality ink. Have you thought about what kind of design you want?"

"I've been considering it. I was considering maybe some kind of celtic knotwork, but I haven't really settled on anything yet. I'm just thinking about it. Pavana mentioned that the location of the tattoos could matter - how they interact with the meridians and the chakras and stuff."

"Yes, it's minor, but not non-existent. Your tatau should be designed to flow with your natural energies rather than just being a pretty design," he says, then chuckles a bit. "I wish someone had told me that before I got some of these. Oh well. Knotwork is good, but tends to be quite obvious - knotwork doesn't look quiet right without dark, bold ink, at least in my opinion. I can do it for you if you want, but have you considered anything subtler?"

What do you say?
>>
>>23437372
>And with the kind of own-group solidarity we've seen at MurderHogwarts, I wouldn't be at all surprised if they don't care that we and Liz are lovers, and do whatever it takes to prevent any infighting in the Clan.
Yes, and Sanjay attacking our partners in a situation where we are able to react is clearly showing a lack of respect for the fraternity of the society. He's attacking us and ours, which means he's attacking us, even if indirectly. The burden of choosing his targets is on him, not us. We have every right to eliminate threats and dissenters within the Lotus the same as anyone else, given they show clear intent to do something as extreme as mortally threaten another person. I'm obviously not saying this gives us the right to murder Sanjay right her and now, because that would be suicidal and stupid.
>>
>>23437378
My point is that we aren't telling them about the sanctum. We might not be taking Dane level precautions here, but this secret we hold onto. If we survive the hypothetical dextra sneak attack it will be awhile before we're in a position to strike against Sanjay.
>>
>>23437419

>>
>>23437435
Then all we need to do is get a family member in each of the groups that are not Nemesis or Dextra. If anyone attacks us or our own, then they anger EVERY SINGLE OTHER CLAN.

Whatever design we go with, I think white ink or UV is a definite must. Makes it more subtle.
>>
>>23437419
double helixes? in UV ink to make the wards less noticeable?

>>23437491
look when we are done talking with the tattoo master we just walk over to him and say "welcome to lotus" for all we know he is super nice just was on edge that first day
>>
>>23437419
Any chance you have access to inks that are less noticeable
>>
>>23437577
True, but him being nice now wouldn't remove the possibility of an attack.
Let's just get informed about how it would go, and try to befriend him too.

I vote UV helix
>>
"What about text? Enchant each letter individually?"

"That could be very useful," he says, nodding. "Put the script along your meridians. Do you have any idea what you might want it to say, or what language you would want it in?"

"Well... No, not yet. What about a double helix on my back, with each intersection of lines being atop a different chi point?"

"Also an interesting concept. Just make sure you're not getting something whose design you'll regret decades from now. When I gave Pavana that piece of advice, she decided to go with something more traditional and timeless. She originally wanted those lines done with a circuit board design. Is DNA something you really want on your body in the coming decades - maybe centuries or more - of your life?"

What do you say?
>>
>>23437852
As long as we don't get the cogs and use the right kind of text, we wouldn't be.
>>
>>23437894
Not really, no. That design is already getting a bit old.
"What about a bar code on the back of my neck ?"
[Laughs].
>>
>>23437894
We know, like, 8 different martial arts, right? Couldn't we use some of the text from those styles in the tattoo?
>>
I'd rather just go with the celtic crap since everything else you guys suggest looks like dick.
>>
>>23437894
"Probably not. There's a good reason that timeless designs are timeless.

When I have full designs sketched out I'll be sure to come to you."
>>
>>23437894
I'd like to do it soon. As soon as I get a good idea of the design, so that I can toughen my skin.
Do you accept to do it for me ? When could we set the first session ?
And well... do you require payment ? I'm a first year, but I think I could do or find something you want to thank you for your help.
>>
Do we only want tattoo foci for protection spells ?
We could get foci for sorcery too, to increase the power of our punches or jumps.
>>
"Would it be okay if I came to you as soon as I settled on a design?" you ask.

"Absolutely. Take your time, if you can afford to," he says, giving you a smile.

"Do I need to, like, pay you or anything?" you ask.

"No, this is a service I'm happy to provide for Lotuses who want it."

What do you do now?
>>
>>23438037
I think teleportation warding was one of the major things we were using the tattoos for, isn't it?
>>
We should let Liz write the text. And maybe dad and mom too.
>>
>>23438037
Actually, could we get a tattoo whose purpose is to hide/camouflage all our tattoos?
>>
>>23438037
That'd be good for intimidation if they don't glow or anything when we use them.
Just punch directly through like five feet of solid steel with our temporary uberstrength, but make it seem like that's just our baseline augmentation.
>>
>>23438061
Is there any synergy of the tattoo foci with a kind of magic ? Or do they work just as well for enchantment, sorcery and conjuration ?
>>
>>23438061

>>

Okay, good.

I thought it might. Like doing alchemy with a cauldron focus would work better than with a tattoo focus.

ignore Sanjay, unless his personality did a 180 in the past time there is no point in affiliating with him. Besides keeping an eye on him of course.

If both of us are not meditating at the same time we should talk to him.

We're part of the same society now, it's far better to talk to him and get info on him than it is to not to anything with him.

Honestly neither of us have any reason to fuck with each other right now, we're both in the upper numbers of the class, same society, may as well try to be friendly. Don't trust him, but no reason to be rude.

True, as long as it doesn't involve max and her father together, because she doesn't actually want to have sex with him.

We thus realize that it was like stumbling on one's parent in a messy and vocal sexual intercourse. It makes for an unpleasant memory, but ultimately it has nothing to do with us and we can forget about it.
