You could check his data at any time, you knew: http://pastebin.com/CaAF0yS8Slowly, waiting, with the other students standing with you, you felt the elevator whirr, gravity lessening and lessening. Summer's... manifestation, you suppose, was left below, while Anna was almost bouncing on her heels, excited.Slowly, the elevator whirred, and then you were in the hub of the station, the very center, and gravity was gone. Momentum from the elevator shot all of you upward, slightly, Sarvesh soaring the highest before friction pulling you all to a stop. And in front of you was the first window you'd seen in the station. You were staring at an enormous, bright blue sun, as it pulsed and swelled, plumes of solar flame bursting out seemingly at random.Everyone went silent, save for Max, who carefully pushed himself down. "Okay, everybody." He said. "There should be some suits for all of you, somewhere in here.""Over here!" Anna said, leaning into a cabinet and pulling out several suits, tossing them to you and the group. She threw them just hard enough for friction to make them stop in front of you. Sarvesh ended up with a facemask and what looked like some sort of... space apron, with a jetpack built into the back, while Jilly's suit was mostly a large, thin film. You look down at your suit. You're not sure how to put it on.
>>23504943"Uhh, guys? I've never used one of these before."
"Um... how exactly do I wear this?"
>>23504943"How do I spacesuit."
>>23504943"So, uh, how does this work?"
>>23504943Make sure we have our jetboots on too.
>The suits have built-in maneuver jets."Uh... guys? I've never used one of these before."Anna sighed, rolling her eyes, and kicked off of a nearby wall, hooking her ankles into a handhold not near you. It was like seeing a gymnast in action, as well as in zero-g."First comes the mask." She said, slipping it on you, adjusting the band tight. "Then you do up the thermal underlayer, like this..."She worked carefully, deliberately, obviously in her element. Some time later, you were suited, your helmet in your hands. Sarvesh, meanwhile, was slipping on the apron, strapping the jetpack-like device to his back. Summer was having trouble with just her paws, rolling around in zero-g, and Damien, also suited, started to help her.Jilly twisted on a small silver armlet on, and gave you a look. Your suit's radio crackled, and a synthesized voice came through."You've never been in space before?" She asked, as she coiled up her tail and started to slip her own suit on.
>>23505057"Up until yesterday I'd never even been off planet before."
>>23505057"N-not in just a vaccsuit, no."
>>23505057"I've been in space exactly once. The flight here. I lived on Heaven's Jewel my whole life."
>>23505057"Well, I never really had the opportunity."
"N-not in just a vaccsuit, no." You say. "Up until yesterday, I'd never even been off planet before. I lived on Heaven's Jewel my whole life.""Well, then you get to learn and do new things!" She said, and the lights on her suit flashed yellow, apparently controlled by her own skin tone.Soon enough, after Anna finished helping Sarvesh readjust his own suit, Max turned back to everyone."You all ready?" He asked, and everyone gave their own affirmations."Good. To the shuttle we go." He said, and Anna kicked off toward a nearby door, while everyone else clumsily pushed or climbed their way there. Jilly's suit apparently had some strange wings on the back, propelling her forward. You weren't sure why, since such a thing wouldn't work in vacuum. The shuttle itself was rather cramped, mostly because of Sarvesh, and Summer, and the flight was short."Okay, everyone." Max's voice said. "We're at the belt. Are your masks on and activated?"You check the display in the corner of your eye, and yes, it was activated."Then here we go." He said, and the shuttle lost pressure, the side door opening.>Field too long!
>>23505182The sun was smaller, further away, it looked, with the station silhouetted there. The asteroid belt was all around you, rocks spinning and tumbling in place, moving at the same speed you were."Don't worry about being hit." Max said. "We have weapons platforms set up through the system, so no errant asteroids will show up and wreck things. Everyone.. turn off your manuvering systems, and let's see how you can get to the small brown asteroid - the one with the flag on it.">Roll 1d100 for TK!
Rolled 49>>23505197"Alright. Here goes... something."
>>23505197I guess the suits can withstand micrometeorites?
>>23505302Plainly the targeting systems on th platforms are just that good.
"Alright." You say. "Here goes... something."You close your eyes, hearing nothing but your breathing and the breathing of others through the radio, and you focus... and push yourself forward. When you open your eyes again, you were soaring forward, into outer space, carefully, oh so carefully, nudging you down toward the flagged asteroid.Max met you there, Anna already there, even without telekinesis of her own, and when you looked back, you saw Summer, Damien, and Jilly focusing, moving slowly, Jilly's four thin wings flapping uselessly in the vacuum.Sarvesh didn't move. He didn't move a muscle, his lower arms contained safely inside the apron tied around the point where his thorax and abdomen met. You peered through his darkening visor to look at his eyes. There was something... wrong, with the look in his eyes, even as alien as they are.He was terrified.
Rolled 69>>23505398pullan Sarvesh over here
Rolled 88>>23505398"Sarvesh? Buddy? Talk to me. Are you ok?"Try and reel him in to the asteroid slowly with TK>>23505302Maybe TK auto-protects you from that like it saved us from the falls back home?
>>23505398Fly back to him."You okay, Sarvesh?"
>>23505398"Come on you can do it!"
>>23505432>>23505439Pulling him in isn't gonna help him do this.Let's just try talking to him.
>>23505302>It's a mix of 'they can withstand a few', 'any micrometeorites in the same orbit as the asteroid belt won't be any faster than them (and thus your own current speed)', and 'the ones with the elliptical orbits that could be a danger have been lasered away by the weapons platforms'."Sarvesh? Buddy? Talk to me." You say.He responded slowly, his voice being translated into english as he spoke."... It's... I..." He said, trailing off."Come on. You can do it." You say.He went silent again. So you reached out... and pulled. His feet scraped against the floor of the shuttle as you struggled. This much mass wasn't nearly as easy to move as moving yourself, but eventually, he soared down to you, slowing himself to a stop. You heard him take a deep breath, before buzzing wordlessly in relief."... Is everything okay?" Max asked the two of you.
>>23505529"Sarvesh? What's wrong?"
>>23505529I'm a bit more tired then I should be, but everything else is fine. Right Sarvesh?
"I'm a bit more tired than I should be, but everything else is fine. Right, Sarvesh?"He was silent."Sarvesh? What's wrong?""... I don't like this." He responded, facing Damien. "I don't like this at all. I'm scared.""Don't worry." Max said, his voice low. It almost sounded like he was losing his patience. "You can turn on your ion manuvering any time, and if you run out of gas, there's us. We can kinesis you back, we need to."The centaur buzzed and clicked again, and then shook his head. "Okay, I'm ready." He said, finally."Okay." Max said, much happier than he just was. "All of you can do basic manuvers from our time in the hub, right?"Everyone, except Anna gave their affirmations."Okay, then this is what we're going to do." He said. "We're going to have a little contest. All of you... are going to race Anna."Anna waved."She'll have her magnetic boots, and these asteroids have enough iron content to carry her." He said. "We'll be doing things one at a time, and the goal is to reach the green flag and come back first. Any questions?"
Rolled 86>>23505658"Sounds good."
Rolled 68>>23505658"When do we start?"
>>23505658"Anything we shouldn't do, aside from obvious things, like endangering one another?"
"Anything we shouldn't do, aside from obvious things, like endangering one another?" you ask."Not in particular." He said. "... Don't go too fast backward, or you'll start to fall out of orbit, I suppose.""When do we start?""As soon as we figure out the order." Max said. "You seem raring to go, so you may as well go first."You nod, and eventually Anna was standing next to you in her suit, crouched. Then Max called out to 'go' and she kicked off, already soaring. You closed your eyes, and focused toward the target... and shot toward it, weaving around asteroids as your opponent bounced from rock to rock. Near the end, she'd started doing something strange - holding out her feet to the asteroids, sparks dancing off of the magnetic boots as they heated, pulling her forward even faster. You set down on one of the asteroids, your own magnetic boots clasping, and touched the flag."Alright, that's good. Now hurry back." Max radioed, and you kicked off again. It wasn't long before you returned to the first asteroid, a furious Anna glowering behind you."That was pretty good." Max said. "You have a talent with telekinesis."
>>23505856"It's more that I have a talent for Ion Boots, and some of it carries over."Give Anna a modest smile.

Rolled 8>>23505856"That was fun!"

>>23505856Change the subject by asking her what she did."It was cool" or something like that.
>>23505856Make sure Sarvesh is still okay.
>>23505890Talent? Wasn't our one attempt to use them what sent us through a frickin' wall?
"It's more that I have a talent for ion boots, and some of it carries over." You say, giving Anna a modest smile. She glared back."Anna, what were you doing with the magboots?" You ask, and she sighed."Overcharged them." She said. "Then used psionics to cool them down and make sure they didn't melt.""That was so cool!" You gush."Would've been cooler if I could turn asteroids into electromagnets." She grumbled to herself."Damien, how about you go next?" Max asked."I'm going to lose." Damien said."I lost." Damien said, as he skidded past your asteroid when he tried to return, Anna giving him a gloating look so obvious that everyone could *feel* it."Summer?" Max asked.Summer nodded, perfectly silently, and suddenly another radio connected to yours - her manifestation. "I'll try my best." She said."Sarvesh?" Max asked. "How are you doing?"Sarvesh didn't respond again. He was staring out. Not out toward the sun, but out toward space. Nothingness.
>>23506055>"Would've been cooler if I could turn asteroids into electromagnets."clearly a woman after our own heart.
>>23506055Poke him."Yes, electromagnet asteroids would have been awesome"
>>23506055>asteroids into electromagnetslook awed. "Yes, that would have been awesome".
>>23506055I don't know if the saying translates well sarvesh but 'a penny for your thoughts'? is something making you uncomfortable and do you think talking about it will make the discomfort less?
>>23506055>Anna is meanGet next to Damien. Give him a high five even though he failed. team spirit!
Your eyes widen. "Yes, that would have been awesome." You say."I just need to learn how." Anna said, and sighed, before turning to Summer. "You ready?""Yeah." Her manifestation said, over the radio, and the two set off.You hover closer to Sarvesh, and poke him in the torso."I don't know if the saying translates well, Sarvesh, but... a penny for your thoughts?" You ask. "Is something making you uncomfortable?""... It's just too big." He said. He was buzzing and clicking, and the translation software didn't even start translating before your minds did. "The whole of everything is too big for me to ever see it all."He glanced at his cybernetic arm, and went quiet, putting his mandibles into his own mouth.
>>23506286"That's why we have to make the most out of what we can see."

>>23506373Oh hey monotreeme, sup.Feels just like yesterday when we shouted at you in SorQ
Rolled 56>>23506416at what specific thing?I get shouted at a lot
You turn off your radio."There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamed of in your philosophy." You quote.Sarvesh gave you a Look, and he turned off his own."The most we can do is try. And it's worth it. It means the adventure never ends, and that's a good thing."He gave off a low buzz. Something that translated as a 'hmm'."... You know why I have this arm?" He asked. "Why I didn't moult, I mean. That's something you didn't ask."Anna returned, Summer following her, and the asteroid shuddered as they both collided into it, distracting the two of you. The tiger simply drifted away from the asteroid, unhappily.Max turned to Jilly, and said something, and she and Anna sprung away from the asteroid, the lights on Jilly's suit flashing yellow, signifying giggles."Because if I don't moult, I don't age." He said, quietly. "I want to see everything. Everywhere."
>>23506436>>23506548So, "the usual" pretty much.
>>23506566I wish you luck then. My life will just be a blip in your adventures. How will see things that don't last? You can't be everywhere at all times?

"But... living that long. You'd forget so much more than you'd ever even realize you knew.""Maybe." He clicked."Well, maybe you'll manage it, then." You say. "I wish you luck, Sarvesh.""Thank you." He said, and nodded. Then you heard Max growl in your mind. In his voice laid the sound of an Alpha, breaking through his demeanor. For just a moment, he was a wild animal, his mind honed into sapience."It's your turn, Sarvesh." He said. "Turn on your radio. Now.""Oh, right. I apologize." Sarvesh responded, and turned on his radio. Carefully, he walked up next to Anna, and the two of them left."So, you can use telepathy to that extent, too." Max said, panting and wagging his tail, sitting down next to you. "Normally you need to hear words, without radio, to springboard off of. I'm impressed."He tilted his head, and under his helmet, his ears perked."Have you had any strange feelings or senses?"
>>23506757Well it is annoying. But currently I'm annoyed at you making a thread which isn't about you about you, and wasting our bump count with your irrelevant posts.

I got my parents to stop the car, and if we hadn't stopped, we would have been in a terrible accident.""Did you see it, and know it was going to happen, or was it just a bad feeling?""Just a bad feeling." You say.The wolf nodded. "Anything since you arrived here?""Not that I've noticed. I haven't been trying to notice either, though.""I see." He said. "It sounds like your extrasensory perception is a bit on the weak side, compared to everybody else." He said.An asteroid suddenly split in half, as Sarvesh tore it asunder. Then he kicked off of one, carrying the other, and kicked off of the second halfway there, barely, *barely* touching the flag before Anna did."... Clever." Anna grumbled."... That wasn't quite telekinesis, Sarvesh." Max called."I used telekinesis to assist me in getting here." Sarvesh said neutrally.Max simply shrugged, and sighed."Okay, everyone back into the shuttle. The researchers might get too stressed if we give them too *much* data." Max said, and everyone made their way back into the shuttle. Some time later, you peeled off your suit, standing in the hub of the station again, struggling with it. That was brilliant!"She shrugged, and rolled to face you."Did you have to mod them for it? Or just rewrite the software?""I'm not that technically minded." She responded. "I just zapped them.""And how does cooling the boots with psionics work?" You ask.She shrugged. "I just took the heat energy out." She said. "It's like... the very opposite of heating something up. "Did Dr. Manus ever get back to us?""On the opposite side of the hall from the location designated as your dorm room." Einstein responded. "It's sparse and has no parts yet, but it has been cleared for you."You shrug, and make your way back to your dorm, where Summer - both of them - were snoring on the bed. You put your duffel bag on your bed, and start to unpack. Some time later, completely unpacked, your glasses start to ring. You slip them on, and see who it is. Prometheus, as he was online... Or Alex. An old friend.Summer's manifestation sat up, her hair disheveled. "Bwuh?"Your glasses rang."Oh." She said, and collapsed again.

Alex responded, grumbling. "I got up specially early to say hi. So hi, Heather. How's your new school?""Look at my room!" You say, clicking on the glasses' camera."It looks all metal. And swoopy. That's a space station all right.""And my pet tiger!" You call, turning to Summer."I am not your pet tiger!" Summer said, sticking her tongue out at you."... Is the girl your pet too?" Alex asked, and snickered. "Taking after your moms, alright."You know summer couldn't have heard that, but her cheeks went red, and A curtain suddenly... appeared, fading into existence, materializing around Summers' bed, so you sighed, and grabbed your tools, making your way to your workshop."Einstein, put in a requisition request for some basic tools and parts for the workshop.""Aaand now you're completely ignoring me." Alex pouted, as Einstein chirped an affirmative.
>>23507612"Not really, just multitasking. And no, Summer is not my pet - she's both the tiger and the girl, by the way. I was joking."

He said. "Sooooo, Alex. What have you been up to?" "You know. I'm doing what I always do. I almost beat Demiurg Commander Six." He said, bragging. >>23507944Oh no! Did she apologise? I hope she's looking after you.

>>23507944"please tell me you got her name and number or at least got her to take you to dinner to make it up to you.
>>23507944"Yes, my psychic juju is the best. Well, not really. But it's... okay, sub-par, really. That's nice. Except for the broken leg. Well, that's nice as well."
>>23507944"Tell me more, tell me more. I didn't even need psychic juju for that, you're just easy to read. Did you get a date? Do you need advice?I demand juicy details, remember, you don't know that I can't psychically explode your microwave from here."
Placeholder for later, when we hang up, be sure to tell him to get well soon and to take it easy. Broken legs suck.
>>23507944and it'll only get better eeewww thats so cute; so whats her name; and have you tried any of those sad pickup lines you told me about?

You say."I did, but..."Did she apologize? I hope she's looking after you.""She did, and visited me while...""Is she hot?""... Nine point five out of ten." He said, and seemed to give up on trying to answer completely."What's she like? Does she have long hair? Is she fat? What color is her eyes? Did you ask her out yet?""Nice, Yes, no, blue, and we watched a movie last night." He said."Sooo, What's her name?~""Nadala." He said.

You have any uplift classmates? Or aliens that aren't UPA? Can you move things with your brain? Can you see me right now?"

>>23508356He said I couldn't ride on his shoulders because it was zero-G.My roommate, the tiger, is an uplift. The top dog is to. A literal dog. He said. "I don't need any psychic juju for that.""There's also a Nagala. Which sounds like Nadala.""It does." He said. "Maybe her parents didn't have much creativity. "I accept these gifts, but do you dare set foot within my mighty lair?""... your mighty lair is a big empty room." He said. "Right now, at least.""Did you use your PSYCHIC POWERS to determine I was hungry?" You ask, taking the sandwiches he handed you."... I used logic." He said. "Everyone else'd been in and out of the cafeteria. Even Anna. Which meant you were either starving to death or always dead. Psionics takes a lot out of you.""Are these the peanut butter and jelly? Or is this something else? Something more... spacey? No space squids on this, are there?"Damien grinned. "I had Jilly and Sarvesh figure out what to put on it."You pry open the toasted bread, and look at it... and it was just tuna and cheese. You took a massive bite out of one."Not really." He said, and shrugged. "Though I guess Sarvesh suggest the tuna melts, if he knew what they were. You know, he actually speaks german?"

>>23509019"German? That language that the one they use for that big FLOSS software group is based on? That's so cool!"
>>23509124Bit spastic this.
>>23509019"German? I must hear that. Are they still in the cafeteria?"
"German? That archaic old language?""Hah, no, it's not archaic at all." He said. "Some of the worlds on the rim of UPA actually speak it exclusively."He raised an eyebrow as you crammed an entire sandwich in your mouth. "You know what I find funny? Humans are the only ones with so many different languages. Nagala I can understand having a single language, but the centaurs do too. I think it's because we went into space and started colonizing without uniting our homeworld."You nod, swallow, and then clear your throat. "I didn't know that." You say. "I'm glad you stopped by.""I tried learning spanglish, and that one, uh, 'teknospeek' dialect." He said. "U no leet' sort of thing. Couldn't wrap my head around it."He shrugged, and closed his eyes, though you still felt him looking at you. "So, working on your ion boots? You have any plans to make anything else? >>23509261"No specific plans yet. Got to get these working. Maybe enhance Einstein a bit. Is there anything you want me to have a go at?"
"I'm going to make all the things!" You say, and he chuckled."But mostly, I was thinking about tinkering with Einstein after I finish my ion boots. And maybe making Anna an exoskeleton for gravity, if she'll let me."Damien hmphed."I don't think she will." He said. "And you don't need to have ESP to know *that*."He sighed. "Jilly's been unhappy all day since Anna shooed her off. I really don't like her, because she's so consistently cold to everyone."
>>23509366Why didn't you invite jilly to come here and eat with us then?

>>23509366We should make an ion-cannon using magnets and compressed Phaeron gas. That stuff's meant to make engines powerful, so it'd conceivably work pretty well as a weapon. You could easily fix dispersion by mixing negatively charged and positively charged amounts together, letting the electrostatic force do the work of keeping it together.
>>23509466Yeah I meant those snake people. I forgot the name.

And if you wanted to try out the sensory deprivation chambers, they're down near the bottom... uh, outside of the hub. Max told me to make sure you can use them whenever. You shrug, and made your way down the various ramps and ladders to the 'bottom' of the station, where the gravity was at least a third again stronger to what you were used to. With Einstein's guidance, you found the six great chambers, with what looked like GEM generators in the top and bottom, all smoothly black and covered in scanning devices. One of the signs mentioned removing all devices and clothing before entering, and you were mildly glad to see that there was a curtained area just outside of the chamber you could use.The control pad of your own chamber chirped.>How long would you like to remain within? It asked.>And finally, roll for ESP.

At the edge of your mind, the hidden depths of your mind, colors and words, half-remembered, sprang to your thought. Like sleeping, like dreaming, you were simply sitting in there... You sang a short song, wiggled your toes, waiting. Nothing special was happening An interminable time later, there was slight noise, and then static, and the lights started slowly turning on inside of the chamber, letting you adapt to the light again. The doors opened, all but blinding you from the light, as gravity returned.Nothing out of the ordinary happened.

"How goddamn boring." You say. "Einstein, how long do people usually stay in these chambers?""Usually between thirty minutes and an hour." He responded. "Times lower than thirty minutes have been found not to be beneficial toward stimulating extrasensory perception."You sigh. "Can you report that to the doc?""Doing so now." He responded."Might as well try another hour." You say, and punch in the numbers, before climbing back in. Again, the door hissed shut, and the gravity vanished, and you went back to floating...And then, in the darkness... you fell asleep. And dreamed.------The wind is howling, dust and rock covering the ground. A yellow, young sun sat in the sky, beating down on you. Six centaur sat in a circle, staring at one another, with a few cameras nearby, watching them. None of them seemed to notice you."Are you ready?" One of them asked, a tall, bulky centaur with cracked carapace, bigger than the rest."I am, yes." A younger Sarvesh responded. You had a... feeling you could leave this place, seek somewhere else, if you wanted. Somewhen else. You just... didn't know how to aim.

Quietly, you stand there and watch as the two charged one another, pincers at the ready. Snapping of carapace with buzzing and clicking, as Sarvesh was entirely pummeled, neither fast nor strong enough to fight off his ... his brother.Yes, that was his brother, you knew. Six moults old, the strongest and most powerful in the subsubsubtribe. He was pulling out all of the stops, fighting, and Sarvesh started to scream, when his brother clenched both pincers down on Sarvesh's arm...He started to tear it off.You couldn't look, so you drifted away.To Summer. The light was shining in through the window, the birds singing and chirping. Sitting in the four-poster bed was a pile of stuffed animals, alongside a young, darkhaired girl, her hair cropped short... and a tiger cub, it's paws bigger than the rest of it's body. She was purring, softly, and her eyes opened to lick the girl's forehead."Mhpmhm, it's too early to play, Summer." The girl responded, scritching the tiger's ear.I didn't want to play, sister. The tiger said, wordlessly. I just wanted you to know I love you.The girl sat up. "Did you say something, summer?"Time passed, and then there was the sound of shattering glass, and a tiger's roar, filled with pain and anguish. You opened your eyes. You could sense Einstein, and the control computer, not far outside of the chamber. You could... sense them. Through the vacuum seal.

>>23510604Reach out and touch Einstein, metaphorically speaking.
>>23510604Cackle maniacally, we did it!Then realize that's probably a tad dickish after what we've seen, and feel guilty.
>>23510604Reach for the Machines, touch them, listen to them, see what they have to say.
>>23510653>Show me on the graph where she touched you
>>23510604See what 'Stein is up to.
>>23510604I feel we've invaded our friends privacy by accident. We should probably tell them.Ask Einstein how long we've been in here.
>>23510686>She touched me right here, on my X-Axis!
>>23510604Reach out to einstein and the control computer
Eyes still closed (though it didn't matter in the nothingness), you reach out toward Einstein, trying to sense more about what's going on, but... nothing made sense, ticking within the sphere a few feet away from you. You reached out with a hand, and the chamber drifted you away from the wall as you did, keeping you from reaching the wall of the chamber. Confused, you rub at your eyes, trying to wake completely up, as the audio static and lights flare on. Another minute later, the doors opened again, blinding you again.
>>23510768Tell Einstein to make us a sandwich
>>23510749>Did she brush your gyroscope?
>>23510768"Einstein, anything happen whilst I was inside?"
>>23510813Also, logs of the last ten minutes
>>23510768Pen a little email for Dr Manus telling him we saw snippets of the past of some of the other students, and Einstein outside, but don't mention what we saw specifically. Then get dressed.
"Einstein, anything happen whilst I was inside?""Anna has entered chamber three." Einstein responded, and said nothing else. You sigh, and pull on your clothes again, putting your glasses on. "Einstein, give me logs of the last ten minutes."You sift through the logs, and for the most part, there was nothing out of the ordinary... at least, until you found glitches and errors, about the time you woke up. You pull on your wrist computer, and write an email for Dr. Manus telling him what you saw.
>>23510893>Should mention, the glitches were minor - things that were easy for Einstein to work around or recalculate.
>>23510893See if there's a timer on Anna's box, this section is in high gravity, and it might be nice to help her back hubwards when she gets out.but if it's like 40 minutes then let's just go find Summer to tell her what we saw.
>>23510937Can Heather grok robot programming, or just physical robot bits?
>>23510893Check on Anna's chamber. Then we can go and see Summer, tell her what we saw.
>>23510893I just want to go work on the ion boots some more but I'm up for anything else.
>>23510893Take a closer look at the glitches, try to recreate the feeling we had when we did it and grok what happened.
>>23510893Time to work out what we did to him.
>>23510956>She knows enough to understand the logs, for one, but she's not an expert in any way.You check Anna's chamber, and the timer on it was around fifty minutes left, so you shrug, and make your way back up to your room.Summer was lying in bed, and her manifestation was tapping on a touchpad, typing something out."Hey." She said, giving you a short wave.
>>23511022Hey Summer, I was just trying out those sensory deprivation chambers. Is it easier to read with human eyes?
>>23511022Does Summer's Manifestation look similar to that of the girl she was with?"Hey. I just tried out the sensory chambers, I accidentally violated your privacy, I saw you when you were a cub, playing with your sister."
>>23511022her manifestation looks different than the girl from vision, right?
>>23511022"Hi Summer. I was just trying out those sensory deprivation chambers and I saw you as a cub. You were so cute!"
>>23511022"Hey! How are you doing?"
>>23511074I like this, but I'd change it a little toI may have accidentally violated your privacy, I saw you when you were a cub, playing with a girl.
>>23511022"You were a cute cub.">Touch the fluffy ears
"Hey, Summer. I was just trying out those sensory deprivation chambers." you say. "Is it easier to read with human eyes?""No, but it's easier to type." She said, and shot you a grin. "I'm sending some mail to my parents."Then you eye her manifestation...And then realize that it was perfectly, utterly identical to the girl from the chamber. Except older."I... may have accidentally violated your privacy." You say, and sit down on your bed. "I saw you when you were a cub, playing with a girl. You were so cute!""That's what everyone thought." Summer said. "I think it's because I was really, really fluffy."
>>23511132Pet her bit."Your furr is still nice!"also "Can you tell me more about her?"
>>23511132"Well, you were quite fluffy. Sorry about that, by the way."
>>23511132"You're still pretty fluffy."Pet her ears."I just thought you should know I saw it, I didn't mean to pry."
>>23511132"I think it was your paws, they were huge compared to the rest of you.Do you mind if I scritch behind your ears?"After getting permission sit down next to her and pet the kitty."I didn't mean to pry, but if you don't mind, do you want to tell me about her?"
"Well, you were quite fluffy." You say. "You still are. Do you mind if I scritch your ears?""Go ahead." Summer said, and lay her head down. You started petting her."... I didn't mean to pry, but if you don't mind... do you want to tell me about her?""The girl? Did she have black hair?" Summer's manifestation asked. She didn't ask if it was identical to her manifestation, but she might as well have. You nod."She was my sister. She wanted a pet she could talk and play with, so our parents had me grown and uplifted." Summer said. "Her name was Winter."She didn't meet your eyes. Neither her or her manifestation did.
>>23511268Give the tiger's head a quick hug."What happened?"
>>23511268"Sorry. Um... on another note, do you know if psijinks can effect computers?"
>>23511268Continue to pet the kitty. Give her a hug."I understand if this is personal, and if you don't want to talk about it. But what happened?"
>>23511268give her a hug."I know, I heard shattering glass."
"I understand if this is personal, and if you don't want to talk about it." You say, and pull the tiger into a hug. "But... what happened?"The manifest set down the touchpad, and intertwined her fingers."... I don't want to talk about it." She said. "But... I'd like very much if you didn't tell anyone what you saw."Then her manifestation turned away, and a large tiger paw grabbed your shoulders and pulled you into an enormous, furry hug of her own.
>>23511413"Of course and I'll be here if you want to talk about it."
>>23511413"Of course."Hug the fluffy ears.
>>23511413"Of course."Yay, fluffy hugs.
>>23511413hug back and stroke head; sit in silence for as long as she needs.when the hug is done. ;;; "did you hear my friend on the exa-net back then? or hear my thoughts? I saw you blush..."
>>23511413How big is she Exa? Compared to Heather?
>>23511413"It's okay."Hug her for a little.
>>23511413"Of course I won't. If you ever want to talk I'm here."Hug back, tightly, rub her back, try to comfort her a bit.
>>23511461>Summer is about six hundred pounds, ten feet long, and very fuzzy."Of course I won't." You say, hugging her back. "If you ever want to talk, I'm here.""It's okay." She responded. She didn't use her manifestation to say it.Then she curled up, and closed her eyes. And fell asleep. Hugging you.You struggled, unable to get out, and sighed.>End of thread!>My twitter is @futureexabyte , and I'm always on the IRC (#Exabyte on Rizon).
>>23511557>You struggled, unable to get out, and sighed.it's ok, fluffy bed is best bed.
>>23511557Soooo...is her dad's name Grayson?
>>23511666>implying the dad isn't Verne.
Rolled 94>>23511557Guess it's naptime, then.
>>23511557WHERE IS THE TIP OF THE DAY
So humans are apparently awakening everything. Do the aliens uplift any of their native species?
>>23511963>AWAKEN ALL THE THINGS!I wonder what the most depressing animal to talk to is. Probably turtles. I feel like they'd be downers.
>>23512120nah just slow the most depressing would be the common cowunless you could breed an animal that specifically wants to be eaten...
>>23512208>the most depressing would be the common cownope, simple because uplifting imparts human rights. an uplift cow would be happy simply because they couldn't be eaten
>>23511927... It's still the same day as the last tip of the day. It'd be unrealistic if you got two tips in a single day, wouldn't it?>>23511963Earth actually has the greatest diversity of creatures, while most of the nagala creatures aren't vertebrates and don't have enough basic brain matter to build off of, and the centaurs don't usually care about the few species they haven't extincted yet. They actually have terraformed their own planets so they could breed tuna, though.>>23512120It matters what type of uplift it is. If it's an early uplift, the animal is pretty much identical to a human (or nagala or centaur, based on where it's raised) personality-wise. If it's a late-uplift, then I suppose it'd be the critter with the most depressing instincts.
>>23512283Days get confusing when you're on a space station.
>>23512268your valid point put a bullet in the head of my reference based humor>>23512283>breeding tunawhat about anchovies?>zoidberg.jpg
>>23512283How long is a day on the station?
>>23512350... Well, actually, 'days' are based on the human calendar, because centaurs stay up 18 hours before sleeping for 6, and nagala stay up 14 hours and sleep for 10. So a day on the station splits the difference - 24 hours.Thankfully, your long sleep the night after you left Heaven's Jewel made sure you won't be too bad with adapting to a different day/night cycle.>>23512385WRONG.3.6 grog-knacks.
>>23512524Damnit. Well, I was close, at least.
>>23512524Did Heaven's Jewel have a 24 hour rotation or would Heather be used to something different?Does the calendar have a space-christmas or space-valentines day?
>>23513065Heaven's Jewel had a 24.5 hour day, but it didn't have as significant seasons.
>>23513106How long was the year? How long are years on the space station? When's Heather's birthday?
>>23513169The space station has a year of around two thousand eighty days or so. Heather's birthday is, according to the calendar, on June 21st. (Heaven's Jewel's monsoon season) The year on Heaven's Jewel was 362 days, though, but seasons were much less significant there.
