Welcome to another... somewhat late edition of Succubus Quest!

Last time, we decided to bring Erika, now a brand new Ayarian Succubus, to our home and casually talk about a few things. But not before getting a snazzy new piece of armour, originally owned by the demon Blizzarios! With a whole bunch of cool and snazzy features! But it was then only during our teaching job, Leona wanted to meet up with us, then begged us to find Sara. Upon agreeing to meet her later in the tea house, she told us of the problem that she just learned that Erika is going to be kidnapped! Being miles ahead of her, we reassured her this is no longer the case. But a new problem arose... Hunger. You need food, as right now Brooklyn is starting to see people as snacks.

And from where we left off!

OH FOR FUCKS SAKE I GET THE POINT!

You take a deep breath after your inward mental rage. You’re going to need some food. Some serious, heavy duty, fill you to the brim food. ESPECIALLY if you’re going to be on the team that’d help free Erika. Disposable Paladin and Cleric or not, you’re going to need to pull your own weight in this. For that, you’re going to need a lot more Aether than you’ve got at the moment.

Easy solution is simple. Just head out to the old city, look for bandits to devour, and presto! You could easily ask Sebastien t-

I had no idea the shirt said that.

Alright, let's do that.

No need to go bumbling about looking for Sebastian when we have a sure thing practically right in front of us.

Let's head to a busy pub, like the Adamant door, and fill up there. Unless we know about major events, like a sport's game, a play, an open air festival or music show.

That's Astaroth's meme in-joke on nijiura. She wears weird shirts.

Worth a look and we might stumble on something interesting.
>>
You decide that it’s probably just best to head to the Adamant Door. Gather your food somewhat more easily there than risking your neck by fighting bandits in a place that is Articus’s frozen asshole.

******

You head over to the Adamant door, changing back into Brooklyn as you enter the place. Sure enough, it is currently the dinner rush, meaning the place is packed to the point where you almost resorted to kicking open the door. Sure enough, you can see that nearly every spot is filled to the brink with customers. As usual, most of them are either mercenaries or somewhat related to the physical field of sorts. You know from experience that all the intellectual types (like you) go to the Red Fox Inn for nearly everything else... except ale. Good god does the owner of this place ever know how to brew a mean ale. The air is thick with the smell of roasted meat, corn, and potatoes, your tongue bursting with the sweet smell that comes from people being happy. It is certainly providing you with a constant stream of steady food, and not a mere drop by drop kind of food either.

There isn’t much ‘new’ to see here. Just a bunch of people currently sitting at nearly all of the available seats in the house. ...In fact you can’t even see a proper seat for yourself. Hm... Maybe you could ‘ask’ a guy to give you his seat? Find a table of people? Mina does it all the time, so it can’t be THAT hard... right?

We don't want to burn too much Aether, winning isn't that important, but the emotional high that the other players get from an exciting game is. And we're naturally pretty good at it, we've got Performance and Mathematics. We don't even need to cheat.

This is one of the main reasons why I suggested it in the first place.

Think of the taste of defeated players. It must be divine~

You look around the bar for anything of interest or of note. You can see a few things, mainly to your surprise that Lance does appear to be here with his buddies off in the corner of the room, laughing together as they have a drink together. The other thing you can note is what appears to be some female mercenaries from the Wolf Pack at the nearby table. You can tell as that group loves to wear some sort of wolf fur on most, if not all of their clothing somewhere. These women appear to rather... beefy compared to someone like you and Mina. In fact you had to do a double take to see if they were actually women.

Another thing you seem to notice is that both Tristen and Leo, you male friends from your gaming group, appear to be sitting at a table together, talking about something. This is somewhat of a surprise to see Leo here at the Adamant Door of all places. Usually he prefers the Red Fox Inn.

The last thing you notice is that the Bears are playing against the Hawks in the corner, mainly playing a card game that... to be honest you’ve never seen before at all. It’s not poker or Blackjack... Interesting...

You then look over to the ads board of the room, knowing that many people seem to post various help wanted ads in at the bar, or what many Adventurers call the “Quest Board.” As per usual, many requests are for people who mainly want some kind of ‘problem’ fixed outside of town, but are too cheap to pay for the PMC’s local best. A few things do catch your eye though. One involves a merchant wishing to hire somewhat to help him crunch numbers. The other involves being a fact checker and archivist at the Soaring Hawks archives. They must need someone to help organize their achieves.
>>
>>23551082
I agree, Suggestion has low usage, so we can do it all day and not feel the dent and in this kind of emotion heavy area we are going to feel up anyway.
Plus we need to practice.
>>
>>23551106
Avoid Lance, we don't need to deal with that argument again. See what the pay is for the Soaring Hawks Job. Oh, and just find a place at the bar.
>>
>>23551106
Let's take a look at the card game that the Bears and Hawks are playing, see if we can't puzzle out how it works, and the emotions from it are sure to be tasty.

After that, if we don't join in, we can see Leo and Tristan, see what they're up to.

throwing my vote in with seeing what our friends are up to.

If push comes to shove, we could always use hidden suggestion to get one of them to come clean...

On that note, Since with our current level of suggestion we cannot make people do obviously life threatening things, does sharing dangerous information (i.e. the kind that can get one executed for treason) fall under the 'not at your level' mark or could we do it?
>>
>>23551337

That's an extra feature for suggestion. Other things include the ability to drop Suggestion over a crowd of people, greatly extending duration, etc... You'll get another chance at an extra upon leveling up the skill.

so, can we get people to reveal said dangerous information at this time or not?

You take the ad for the Soaring Hawks and stuff it into your pocket. This seems like a good and well paying job. A perfect fit for someone like yourself. The job isn’t that time urgent it seems, so if you feel like it you can put it into a weekend slot or something when you have the time. The pay is based on how much gets done rather than a per hour basis. Figures that a PMC will be pinching every single copper.

You then walk on over, just to see what Tristen and Leo are doing.

“N-no... I-I really don’t they’d go for such a thing. They never have.” Leo states.

“Think? Aren’t you an expert in this region’s history?” Tristen asks him while sipping his mug of beer.

“...Yes... My knowledge mainly does consist of information shortly after the Scouring until just a bit after the Science Lord Wars. But I didn’t focus on barbarian groups.” Leo says. “Only large groups.”

Tristen raises an eyebrow at Leo. “L-Large groups!? They ARE a large group!”

“Look! I don’t know! I know how the Nords came to be, but very little after that!” Leo replies back in a defensive tone.

“So what are you guys talking about?” you ask coming over to the table.

Leo turns to meet you, carefully looking you from head to toe. “...Um... Hi?”

“...Smooth asshole. Real fucking smooth.” Tristen replies with his eyebrows furrowed.

“What the hell does that m-” Leo stops himself, his eyes growing wide as he looks at you again. “Oh shit! Brooklyn!”

“Way to be supporting ass.” Tristen mutters taking a drink.

“Shit! Brooklyn I’m sorry! I-I’ve been rather busy for the past few days and your... condition completely slipped my mind!” Leo blurts out his apology.

“Leo’s not the only one. I’m still not used to seeing you from a distance like this. No offense Brooklyn.” Tristen replies.

“Don’t worry about it. To be honest even I still do a double take in the mirror at times. I’d consider it freaky if I instantly adapted to the situation as well.” you reply as lean on the table. “So what’s this talk about the Nords then?”

“Tristen was asking for cultural advice about them.” Leo says sipping his drink.

“Yea I think I have a good product they’d want.” Tristen says.

“It ain’t soap, that much I can tell you.” Leo replies.

“Soap isn’t that popular outside of Fort Hope actually. The reason why we see so many soap products here is because of the hot spring the Richardson’s have control of. The bath house is both a place of socializing and to wash up.” Tristen says to him.

“And then society in Fort Hope warped around that, I know that.” Leo replies.

“Yea even I knew that bit.” you reply.

“Then I’ll spare you the nitty gritty details of exactly how much animal fat and skins the Richardson’s buy from other nearby tribes.” Tristen says before looking at you. “You know what you’re missing?”

“My manhood?” you reply.

“Only in spirit. But in reality, you’re missing a drink.” Tristen says pointing at you.

“Oh really...” you sigh.

“Oh you’re watching your weight now?” Tristen asks.

“Never have.” you reply.

“Then now’s not the time to stop.” Tristen says turning to a nearby waitress, dressed up in a rather homely green dress. “Waitress! Bring an extra large glass to my friend over here!”
>>
[2/2]

The waitress nods, then is somewhat surprised as Trisen tosses a few coins expertly into the empty mugs she’s carrying.

“Keep a little extra for yourself.” Tristen says with a wink and pointing at the barmaid, causing her to walk away giggling.

“Smooth.” Leo replies after the barmaid as left.

“Yea I was thinking of asking her out.” Tristen says as he turns back to you. “Ssssoooo... Brooklyn.”

“Ssssoooo... Tristen.” You reply.

“How are you adapting to your situation?” Tristen asks you.

“Yea, Rog told us that you were looking into the Occult rather heavily lately. Are you trying to find out the process that made you transform in the first place?” Leo asks.

"I can only imagine how awkward going into the bath house must be..." Tristen says muttering to himself. His tone sounds more concerned rather than joking.

As for adapting, it's not going that bad, still a bit odd. But let's face it, I'm hot, prettier than I ever was, which helps a lot with the transition. Having tits is pretty amazing, I'm surprised women ever leave the house. As for the bath house, pretty much the best place in the world now, I can ogle to my heart's content."

Year later Tiresias say two snakes going at it again, so Zeus came up with the worst punishment for a women, he turned him into a man. Long story short, he was eventually called up to the gods to decide who had better sex, men or women since he has been both. He said women incidentally.

Depending on the version of the myth he also spent a lot of time as a renowned prostitute while a woman. The being brought up thing was part of an argument between Zeus and Hera over who enjoyed it more. He said that women out of every 10 bits of enjoyment got 9 of them and men got 1. This pissed Hera off, she blinded him, and Zeus made it up to him by giving him the gift of prophecy and long life. He then hung out in Thebes for a while and watched them fuck up over and over.

“I’ve always had a bit of interest in the occult and aetheric theory. Needless to say that my present circumstances have... kind of put it at my forefront for the time being. But in terms of curses... I mean yea I’m somewhat over it really. I mean looking back at all the shit that could’ve happened? I have all my limbs, healthly, not possessed, I’m still human, and most importantly I’m not dead.” you say as you grab the mug from the nearby barmaid. “Thanks.”

“So you don’t mind being a woman?” Leo asks.

“...Honestly, if you were given a choice between dying a turning into a woman, which would you rather pick?” you ask Leo.

“Fair point.” Leo replies taking a drink from his mug.

“But yea, I’m adapting fairly well. It’s... odd yea, but still not that bad. I mean I’m a rather attractive woman, probably far more than I was when I was a guy.” you reply.

“I’d imagine that’d help with the transition.” Tristen comments.

“You better believe it. Also having tits is pretty amazing in itself.” you say, using one hand to lift up your left breast through your dress and dropping it. “As for the bath house... I can look to my hearts content and not be called out on it...”

“Lucky you.” Tristen says as he takes a drink of his ale.

“...Oh, and the sex is fucking *incredible*.” you say.

Both Leo and Tristen respond to this in the way you’d expect. Tristen seems to have blown some up through his nose, quickly putting down his drink and using his sleeve to stop his mouth. Leo too having the exact same reaction. You can taste a very sharp taste of spice on your tongue, most likely corresponding to the shock they just felt.

“W-What!?” Leo coughs.

“Yea, I get laid pretty regularly now.” you off-handly mention, smirking as you drink the ale.

“Brooklyn! Mai boy!” Tristen says giving you a pat on the shoulder.

“W-wait a second! Isn’t this a little fast!?” Leo asks. “I mean you only changed no less than a month ago, and yet not only are you going out with other guys, but you’ve having SEX with them too!?” Leo asks, seemingly unable to believe what he’s hearing.

“I don’t care how gay this is, I’ve got to hear this! Come on Brooklyn! Tell us everything over a few more rounds!” Tristen asks.

(How much do you want to tell him, and how much do you want to drink?)

Don't drink too much, enough to have fun, but not enough to get wasted, keep self control intact.

“Isn’t one of the dangers of being Scholar misinterpreting things people say? Yes, I’ve had sex, but I didn’t say what with.” you reply.

“...Meaning?” Leo says. You think he’s got it by his impression, but asking to be sure.

“Physically gay, mentally straight if you get my meaning.” you say. “I haven’t had any sex with any guy yet.”

“Ah... So you’re into the forbidden love?” Tristen says scratching his chin.

“Damn straight.” you reply. “She’s a girl whom I met in the bar. I’d... rather not tell you her name unless I know she’s fine with you guys knowing as well, but I can say she’s been a massive help to me. She helped me get over a lot of insecurities about my new body and... Well let’s just say she made me see white more than a few times.”

“How many times?” Tristen asks.

You hold up two fingers as you sip your ale.

“Details.” Tristen demands.

You then go into all the heavy details about how your encounters with Mina went along, being sure to tell them nearly every event that went on, also including how you pointed out things felt from the female body as compared to a male. In essence, very different, but also quite enjoyable.

“W-wait! Wait!” Tristen says stopping you while laughing. “You’re saying she put it into your ass!?”

“It’s not funny! It scared me half to death!” you say.

“I guess I know who wears the pants in this relationship then!” Tristen claps his hands, laughing.

“Oh fuck you.” you say taking a drink of your ale. You’re on your second mug, as the first story was rather long. You’ve got a bit of a buzz going right now, but you’re not drunk.
>>
[2/2]

You notice Leo simply drinking his drink while he listens to your story, but not really saying anything or looking at you.

“...Something wrong Leo?” you ask.

“He’s jealous that you’re a woman and yet you got some before him.” Tristen says.

“Oh piss off!” Leo says spitting back at Tristen, Tristen only seems to laugh in response. “...In other news, I found the coordinates you gave me Brooklyn.”

“Oh?” you ask.

“It’s somewhat in Chicago, in the Divided States of America. The maps I had were not accurate to pinpoint a location, but the location is somewhere in there.” Leo replies. “I know you found it while out exploring around in the old ruins north of here, but what were you looking at to give you coordinates of Chicago of all places?”

"Long story, I've been running into some odd things lately, but don't really have that much to go on. I'll give you more details if I run into them. Probably a dead end anyways.

As for you Leo, the trick is to talk to them, like people, and actually go for it. You're neither completley socially incompetent or ugly. Find some nice girl who likes history and talk about it, take her out for dinner, go back to her or your place with a bottle of wine and tadaa. If I have learned one thing about women from this is that they're pretty damn similar to men. Not an arcane mystery that defies understanding.

But playing wingwoman, totally legitimate. Show him a bit of public attention to show to the waitress that he's a good catch, introducing them, getting them started talking, more or less vetting him for her and letting her know about his good traits.

We can't work miracles, but we can give him a good shove.

“Long story, I've been running into some odd things lately, but don't really have that much to go on. I'll give you more details if I run into them. Probably a dead end anyways.” you reply to Leo.

“Noted.” Leo replies.

“...What game are they playing over there?” you ask pointing over to the card game the Bears and Hawks are playing.

“Memory Pairs.” Tristen says.

“How does it work?” you ask.

“You get two decks of cards, or some multiple of two. You then throw the cards face down on the table. From there, it’s simply flipping up cards, and if you get a numerical pair then you get that many points, with Jacks, Queens, and Kings being eleven, twelve, and thirteen points respectively. The catch is that any cards you flip over have to be visible to the opponent as well.” Tristen says. “But if you pick up the Joker as your pair, the point total between the two players will be switched. It’s an extremely memorization heavy sort of game. Played it a few times myself. Why you ask?”
>>
>>23553928
It's pretty pushy and somewhat skeevy to use mind-affecting magic to get someone to go out with someone else. It won't work if she's violently opposed to it, but it can alter stuff pretty solidly.

Tristen looks at you with a raised eyebrow.

“What? I’m in the mood to play something while buzzed.” you say. “Besides, a game of memorization? Against mercs? I memorize things for a living.”

“I wouldn’t go that far ahead...” Leo warns you.

“I’ll be fine.” you say waving off as you head on over to the table, then hollow over the crowd of mercs. “Hey guys! Got room for one more!?”

All of the mercs turn around to look at you, some of them whistling as they look at you.

“Well well... what do we have here?” one of the Bear Mercenaries ask.

One of the men sitting at the chuckles to himself. A rather large Hawk Mercenary, with the same massive frame has Brock, but only with scars across his face. “I just finished cleaning up this guy. But in order to play little missy, you’re going need to wager something. You got any gold on ya?” the man asks in a gruff voice, taking the cards on the table and putting them into a pile again.

You look down at the man. You can see he has a rather sizeable collection next to him. 20 gold at the very least.

“Hell... I’ll go easy on you and let you declare what you want your bet to be...” the man brags as stacks the cards together and starts to shuffle them.

Hm... Tempting. Issue is that if you’re going to cheat, you’re going to have to know exactly cards you may ‘alter’ with your light control. ...Some may even get fishy if something like three kings of the same suit are in a two card deck. You ponder on exactly how you should approach this game...

“I’ll just bet a small amount.” you say, taking out two gold coins and putting them down on the table.

“Very well! Then let the games begin!” the man laughs as he spreads the cards out on the table. The cards are evenly spread out over the entire table, and after which the two of you begin.

The game takes the better part of 20 minutes for the first game, and it is clear that you underestimated both this game and this gentleman. All of the mercs are glaring down at you, staring at and boring holes through you akin to the Bears and Hawks in nature, making you a bit nervous. You miss out on some pairs that you feel stupid for not getting, and it isn’t long until the merc you’re playing against gets a rather wide lead ahead of you.

“And... That gives me 213 points! Easily over the halfway point!” the merc says.

He’s right. Out of 412 points possible in this system, he’s clearly passed the halfway point.

“Very well!” you say slamming down another ten gold down on the counter. “Bring it on ‘boy’!”

Your determination gets a rather loud roar out of the crowd, in particular the Bears who enjoy seeing the Hawk get burned.

“Very well lass! It’s your money!” the Hawk Mercenary says smiling, taking the card pile out again.

Leo just sighs as he sees this. “He’s doing it again...”

“Wasting his money.” Tristen says shaking his head.

The cards are dealt out and once again the game begins. But this time, you don’t let the crowd get to you. You reach your own form of zen as you carefully plot and analyze each and every card laid out in front of you. You go right for the high pairs this time around, burning each and every one into your memory, allowing you to crush your opponent.

...Oh, and the constant hidden suggestions of him picking up worthless cards also helps.

“And that makes it 209...” you say showing you queen pair in front of the Merc’s eyes.

“W-what!?” the man gasps looking at your pair.

“Read ‘em and weep.” you say showing your cards for him.

You can literally taste the spicy feeling of rage boiling off of the man’s tongue, seemingly overpowering nearly ever other emotion you can feel around yourself. A few of the Hawk’s slowly begin to inch away as they see this, with the Bears being rather oblivious, caught in the moment of giving to a pat on the back while another buys you a winners drink, whenever or not you actually want it. The spicy feeling of rage with a slight aftertaste of joy is rather... interesting. Almost like that Eastern food stand downtown.
>>
[2/3]

The Hawk then gets up, slamming his hand on the table over his cards and pointing his thick finger directly into your face. “Alright! Listen here missy! I have no idea how you cheated b-”

You can see another hand each out, grabbing the man’s finger and pulling it away, another hand resting on the table close to his. “Now now Skip... We don’t want to leave the ladies the wrong impression of our group, no?” a man with a suave mexican voice asks.

Looking up, you can see what appears to be a man with a slightly darker skin complexion, with short black hair and soft brown eyes. Even if you’re not into other men, you can definitely tell he’s on the handsome side of things. His expression seems to be rather friendly as he smiles at both you and the large man.

“S-S-Sam!” the big man blurts out.

“Go get yourself a drink. Cool yourself down a little.” Sam suggests to the large man. “I’ll take care of things here.”

“...Oh shit...” you can hear one of the Bear’s muttering next to you.

Sam gives a pat on the large man’s back as he gets up, sitting back into the man’s chair. “I apologize Miss...”

“Browning.” you reply.

“Ms. Browning. As you can probably imagine, tempers often run high in a game such as this. But... Rules are rules, and even Skip needs to obey them.” Sam says.

“So I can have my winnings?” you ask.

“Of course. If you wish to leave. But I have another offer of my own.” Sam says.

“Oh?” you ask.
>>
[3/3]

“Another game in where, if you win, I will grant you double of what you win here, for a total of twenty gold coins.” Sam says.

“And nothing if I lose, I get it.” you say reaching to take a sip of your drink.

“Oh no, you lose you’ll still get your ten coins.” Sam replies.

You stop as the ale is about to hit your mouth. “...What?”

“If you lose, you’ll still get the 10 gold coins as promised. But rather, I am looking for a... favour of sorts. You see, all of these extra shifts Lord Langy have us doing lately are a serious tax on morale. So we need a... dancer of sorts to come and entertain the men at the barracks.” Sam says.

“...What.” you say, your voice running cold.

“Of course if you want, I can increase the wager if you wish.” Sam offers. "I myself have been wanting to play a game myself tonight as well."

...This... Is interesting... A lot of money can be had here. Either way, you still get some. But if you lose...

The entire area around you falls silent as you make your choice.

Pragmatically speaking it's a good choice, probably not going to happen, but oh well.

And 'stop liking what I don't like' isn't a good argument.

I've already voted, doesn't count as a vote, yadda yadda.

Well, I'm a little disappointed that it looks like my roll of 92 isn't going to be used, but we all agree that we're not dancing. I still think it would be better to counter offer flat money and take him for all he's worth, but this works too.

you are right it's not an argument. I am done with arguing with you.

“I don’t do dances. I pass. Hand me over the gold.” you say reaching over for the gold.

The Hawk’s don’t like this, booing and at you and calling you a wuss as you make your choice. But all it takes to silence them is a simple raise of Sam’s hand. He must command some great respect from these men here.

“Now now. It’s the lady’s choice in the matter. We should respect that.” Sam says taking the coins from the pile next to him, then casually sliding them over to you.

“...And the Jokers.” Tristen replies.

“What!?” you gasp.

“Oh?” Sam asks.

“You had them fooled, but not me. You were watching the entire last game, learning to see where the Jokers were. Once the big guy blew his lid, you put your hand down on the table where the Jokers were. Whenever you would be winning or losing, you’d have the upper hand in the end, and force Brooklyn to throw the game, especially when you get down to the last eight or so cards.” Tristen says.

Sam simply chuckles, leaning back into his chair and snapping two cards up into his hand from his wrist, showing that they are indeed two Jokers. “Very sharp eyes you have boy...”

Your jaw drops as you see this. Your heart nearly skipping a beat as you just dodged a bullet.

“I’m used to dealing with people. No one would make such a lopsided bet, not with your paycheck.” Tristen says. “Come on Brooklyn, we’re leaving.”

“Y-Yes...” you say getting your money and leaving the table. Good thing too, as you can taste the spicy anger boiling off of the Bears behind you at this point, wanting to get out of there as fast as you can.

“How the hell did you figure that out!?” Leo asks.

“...I had the same trick played on me a while back.” Tristen replies, looking somewhat bitter himself. “It was only when Brooklyn declined that I pieced together everything in my head.”

...Well... It seemed that Tristen has saved you from a bullet.

That's iffy, it's one thing to use it to cheat in a game of cards for money, it's another to mess with a girl's head so she sleeps with our friend.

I'm okay with moral bankruptcy when there's major benefits, but that's skeevy as hell, and implies that we have no confidence in our own skills or in our friend.

“Tristen...” you say putting your arm over his shoulder. “Next time I’m going to be the one to buy you a drink.”

“Mind if that next time is right now?” Tristen asks you with a crooked eyebrow.

“Not at all!” you reply.

“W-wait... That... I didn’t even seem him do it...” Leo replies as his brain tries to formulate what has happened.

(It seems many people want to stay at the bar, so that’s fine. If so, what else do you wish to do while you’re here? Get a girl for Tristen/Leo? Drink more? Either way you’re going to be leaving full on aether)

>>23555993
It has to be worded in a way to sound somewhat reasonable, but it isn't just a friendly word in someone's ear, it can drastically alter their perceptions and actions. It's morally iffy, and if we can't do this with our charm and with our friends it shouldn't happen.

For most Mortals kissing is plenty, the rate increase brings it from minute or two, I think, tow seconds, but honestly sex will take longer than a few minutes.

If we're just after Aether the best targets for fucking would be those that it would take hours to get it from normally, powerful Aetheric beings, like Demons, Angels, powerful Adventurers, and so on.

Not that this means I am against banging men, women, or really anything potentially attractive.

[1/2]

You head back to the table you were at, ordering another round of beers for the lot of you. In addition for helping, you decide to... help nudge both Tristen and Leo to get a girl. Two bar workers that seem innocent enough. ...Well actually Tristen doesn’t even need your help, making a move on the bartender and shamelessly flirting with her whenever she comes within range. Leo is the one who needs the push more than anything, wherein a gentle suggestion of asking the girl to just give Leo a chance. While they don’t profess their own love for each other, you do note that they seem to have something between them. Which is good, as you picked one of the seemingly newer bar maidens in the area for him to get along with. You yourself have a few drinks as well. (-1 gold)

About four hours later, you wander out of the Adamant Door, waving goodbye to Tristen and Roger as you stumble back to your own place. Walking straight is... tricky. At this point you’re not drunk, but you’ve gone past buzzed and into tipsy. You’re kind of impressed that drink nearly four rather large glasses of beer only make you buzzed. Granted you could drink more in your male form originally, but this body is deceptive. Thank goodness for your demonic toughness!

You stumble back in your place, seeing Mina reading on the bed.

“Brooklyn! I was wondering when you’d get back!” Mina says running over to you, before stopping and sniffing the air. “...You reek of alcohol.”

“Hey! I was just out... socializing with some friends...” you reply.

“Yea that’s a good excuse I often use myself.” Brodin replies as he turns the page on the book he’s reading.

“Well good news! I went over to Sebastien’s place a-”

“Wait, you know where he lives!?” you ask Mina.

“Yea! I asked him during the party!” Mina replies.

You can only just sigh and rub your head at this point.

“Well I talked to be Janine and Sebastien. Janine is doing PERFECTLY fine now. In fact, she just finished with some of the Adventurers today!” Mina says.

It takes a few seconds for your foggy mind to click in. “...Oh! The Warrior, Rogue, and Wizard!”

“Yup! Janine gave them a cover story in where we rescued them! She also then reprogrammed the Cleric and Paladin. Janine said that she wasn’t able to do a full fledged deep rooted brain wipe, so the situation is that you, me, and Sebastien will be replacing the old group for them!” Mina says.

“Good, so what do we do?” you ask Mina.

“Well the trick is getting into the castle. Ada is able to smuggle in both the Cleric and Paladin, but keeping them hidden is going to be a full time job for Ada. So we need to find our own way into the castle.” Mina says.

“When does the plan start?” you ask.

“The ritual is at nine... We think. So just to be sure, we are planning to start at six. This should give us ample time.” Mina says.

“Right, so Ada’s plan goes off at six. Got it.” you mutter to yourself. This is probably the last big chance you have left to change any sort of feature in the plan. You try to whip your brain into shape in order to come up with any sort of questions you may have.

WE GET THE DRUNKEN SNIPERS CONTACT INFO, ADRESS, AND LICENSE/REGISTRATION RIGHT NOW. Sensation is to useful to not know where his home is. We should have grabbed back at the Succubutt Cave
>>
>>23556959
Okay, so we've got permanent goons and expendable minions now. Life is good. A maniacal laugh about having thugs is perfectly appropriate.

Make sure to get Seb's contact info.

Getting into the castle isn't going to be that hard for us and Mina, we're Succubutts. We can disguise ourself as noble girls, we could turn invisible, we could Suggest for the guards to let us in, making light disguises as if we were guards, we've got options. That'll give us more than enough muscle inside the Castle for our purposes. Those being grouping up, staying quiet, getting to the ritual point and busting it wide open and getting Erika out there, pretending to be a group of ragtag adventurers doing it for the forces of good or something like that. Then we change shapes, because Succubutts escape in the confusion and end with a nice cup of tea. We leave the Paladin and Cleric to heroically die if they haven't already, or finish them off if they're still standing.

Make sure that nobody looks like themselves for this venture, just common sense.

I think Brodin and Sebastien are pulling distraction to drag people away so we can do our thing. Since infiltrating the Wizard, Rogue, and Warrior into the castle would be a bitch on fire and we don't have a good way of getting them out we'll stick them with the Brodin/Sebastien team to help with what they're doing, wearing disguises and skedaddling once they've given us a window of opportunity, meeting us at the tea shop after laying low if they feel like a spot of tea and some cookies.

But running over the plan one more time just to be sure we all remember it properly is a good thing, make sure everyone is on the same page.
>>
>>23557202
Also, confirming the locations of important points in the Castle would be good. Make sure we know where the ritual is taking place, where the guards are likely to be posted, where we're starting the assault, what our escape route is.
>>
>>23557202
>Make sure that nobody looks like themselves for this venture, just common sense.

None of the ones we use on a regular basis, hopefully ...

>I think Brodin and Sebastien are pulling distraction to drag people away so we can do our thing.

Sebastien is coming in the castle with us. He's replacing one of the party members, remember?

>She also then reprogrammed the Cleric and Paladin. Janine said that she wasn’t able to do a full fledged deep rooted brain wipe, so the situation is that you, me, and Sebastien will be replacing the old group for them!
>>
>>23557202
Addendum due to new info and rereading.

Since Seb's coming with us he'll have to come in as well, no real trouble for him. He's got a damn good Stealth score and Incognito, he'll be there without any trouble. If he wants help we can get him in easily. One easy way is to just illusion him to not be wearing powered armor and carrying a rifle, maybe a nice suit, have us and Mina on either arm, class him up, Suggest the guards into thinking we all belong and traipse on in.

And on looking over it our loyal Goon Squad won't be here for the fight, so we'll make due without an outside distraction of any import, but we really shouldn't have any major trouble with all the firepower we're bringing to the table.

Unless Ada does something with high explosives which I remember her thinking about doing, that'll make a good distraction.

>>23557307
Aye, noticed that, made this addendum because of that.
>>
Late night before sleep bump.
>>
If we want a distraction, we could always position ourselves at a window and create a squad of solidiograms to pull the guards away from the castle...

or we could solidiogram a wall in the middle of a corridor, make them go a longer route...

Do we know who will be present for the ritual. will we be dealing with a couple of Langly stooges or is the Greed demon there as well?

I second using light magic to alter the perception of our cloths. I also suggest that either Us or Mina wear the armor.

Personally, I would advocate Mina wearing it as she is a front-line unit, whereas we are a support unit.

As for actual combat strategy, use the lasers against the mortal guards (Ideally in non-vital areas, don't want to deplete Fort Hopes military potential too soon...), Observe the fight with the demon guards, we want both sides to die fighting here, so if one side gets the advantage, use gravity control to help level it out... It is easier to deal with the demon guards than with the cleric & Palidin, so maybe let the demon guards win, then let Mina finish them off.

As for ex-filtration, Mina, Erika and us shapeshift into castle maid and flee (usual screaming panic) and sebastian can stealth out, or we cloak him...
>>
>>23559231
Just a question but where is Erica's psi blade?
Did she leave it at our place or take it to the fort, because we need to grab that if it is at the fort.

“Hahahahaha...” you mutter to yourself upon realizing that you now have your own personal thugs to do your dirty work for you. Yes... Life is turning out good for you.

“...Brooklyn? At you OK?” Mina asks you.

“Of course! Never better!” you say, nearly tipping over and correcting yourself.

“No Brooklyn, you’re drunk...” Mina sighs as she walks over next to you and grabs your shoulders.

“I’m just tipsy!” you reply.

“Another favorite of mine.” Brodin replies, turning the page on the book he’s reading.

“Onto another topic then! The plan for tomorrow! Mina, we’re both Succubi! All we need to do to sneak in is just change our shape then... I dunno. Play Maids to get in, use suggestion on the guards to get us in, going invisible, either way we got options! After we get in, we just simply find the rest of the group, wait for Ada’s signal, then after rush to get Erika out while pretending to be a group of ragtag adventurers! The Paladin and Cleric heroically die to save the rest of the group, while the rest of us simply walk out and change our shapes! Sebastien... he’s Sebastien. I think we can count on him to keep up with the rest of us! ...what about the rest of the adventurers?”

“At Sebastien’s place, and with luck will be out until after the rescue. Janine said that there’s a danger of memories returning if the Adventurers see each other after a brain wipe, so just to be on the safe side, we thought we’d be leaving them at Sebastien’s place.” Mina says.

“Capital idea!” you say happily raising your fist into the air. You are SO pumped for tomorrow.

(I had this typed up when cloaking was still in favor, sorry >>)

“Then to bed! ...But first...” you then shift your weight, catching Mina off guard and throwing her to the bed.

“Eh?” Mina says looking confused with you sitting on top of her.

“I’m going to have fun with you all night long!” you say as you begin to tickle Mina. Running the tips of your fingers over her thighs, ribs, and pits.

“N-NO! BROOKLYN STOP!” Mina says, almost begging. “B-BRODIN’S HAHA WATCHING!”

“...I don’t mind...” Brodin says as his eyes looking over the book he’s reading.

******

Next morning as you wake up, you feel as if you can almost curse the rays of sunlight coming in through the curtains. You can feel a slight throbbing in your head, most likely as a consequence from the night before. It isn’t nearly as painful as the times you’ve gotten *really* wasted, but it’s still enough to make you feel a slight bit of pain.

“Good Morning, how’s your hangover!?” Mina asks in a rather chipper tune.

“Uuuugggghhhhh...” you can only moan out in response as you put on some morning tea, extra strong, for yourself.

Afterwards, you try and continue to perfect the art of cloaking for yourself. You’re close to a breakthrough, so you keep pushing yourself to try and push yourself up to the next step, until you finally manage to succeed. Before you had to struggle to try and align your body to make aether seemingly pass through it, but now it seems all the more natural to you.

“...You know, I’d expect to see the tea go down through you as well.” Mina says as you drink tea while invisible.

You look down at yourself, seeing that it appears the tea does disappear when you drink it. “Magic.” you simply say as you drink the tea again.

(CLOAKING LEVEL UP! CLOAKING IS NOW AVERAGE! SELECT A BADASS EXTRA FOR IT!

Aetheric Disguise: Same as Ada’s

Aetheric Muting: This extra is an update to Aetheric Disguise, allowing one to suppress their aura completely. This means that people trying to use aura sight on you have a hard time trying to pinpoint your trail. Though completely muting your aura would probably make people why you are doing so.

Phase Attack: Same as Ada’s

Long Term Duration: The duration for Cloak is extended to infinite so long as one does not break it (Mainly by attacking). Meaning for a one time use, a user can elect to stay cloaked for days.

Non-Visual Sense Hiding: While cloaking, a user will face the same penalties for trying to track you by smell and sound as they would for sight.

Exotic Sight Block: Other sight modes, such as heat vision, cannot pierce through the cloak.

Phase Shift: You can temporarily become immaterial! This ability will allow you to step through what is basically one step of solid material. Note that places that are warded cannot be phased through, in addition to certain magical materials.

Gotta Go Fast!: Can run at dashing speeds without causing the cloak to drop. If selected again, can travel at any speed without dropping the cloak.

Destiny Block: Hide from Fate itself! In addition for making most Fate/Luck related spells have very little chance to effect you, people cannot scry you in any way, including such things as the Question Fate ritual. This only applies when the cloaking is up however.

PLAN RELATED IDEA!!! we could use suggestion on the guards after we finish teaching Brothen. like setting up that certain guards are posted at our infiltration site, and those guards are to let anyone in & out without reporting it. That would allow for operational flexibility on forms.

Big question is the Armor. Do we take it? and if so, who wears it? Sandact, did you say the armor would have a small negative effect on Mina? I seem to recall something about it making it harder for her to dodge or something...
>>
(Brooklyn learned: Aetheric Disguise!)

“Well... It works...” you say, looking at yourself with aura sight, seeing how your aura is now as bright as a normal human’s would be.

“Well... what now?” Mina asks while performing katas.

“My job.” you say as you decloak and reach for your clothes. “In the meantime, feel free to do... whatever you want until I come back from work. After I come back, we’ll be putting our plan into action.”

“Kay-O!” Mina replies happily, but still doing her katas.

******

Your job with Brothen is rather peaceful, as per usual. You’ve come to enjoy this job more than you should as of lately. As right now it seems to be the only thing with a sense of... normality in your rather crazy and hectic life.

But it is after your job that you’re in the castle. The last time you’re going to be in it before the plan begins. Anything you want to do before it begins?

(I think I’ll call it here for now. Gives me some time to plan out the next session. There may be a game on Friday, depending whenever or not I can go to my friend’s house. Feel free to use this thread to talk about plans, things you wish to do, post political pictures, etc...)

Mina is trained for unarmed combat. Wearing the armour would make her slower.

in regards to our suggestion power, Would it last long enough to give orders to let anyone in and out without suspicion or reporting it?

Posting this here, so people would know how to use aetheric disguise:

<Sandact6> It still costs medium. Good news is that if you use it without becoming invisible, the duration is indefinite
<Sandact6> There is no constant drain. You can use it once, with like 10% aether cost, then elect to have it up for days without any extra

>Had 27 after the cards
>Spent 1 on drinks
>Got 4 more from teaching
That makes 30.

And 11 silver.

10 silver = one gold

Two parts for that. You can use suggestion to do something like tell a Guard to be at X post in X hours (Appearing as a noble will increase this chance, as a guard is more likely to believe a noble than a scholar who only comes in to teach). After that, you may have to use suggestion again when you meet the guards at the new post.
