>Behind you, Einstein hovered. You could check his data at any time, you knew: http://pastebin.com/CaAF0yS8

The two of you walked up the hall, the collapsed Damien sitting on Sarvesh's abdomen, unconscious.
"That was worrying." Sarvesh said. "I don't know what this Void Queen is, but I have a feeling that it isn't a good thing."
The two of you made your way to Damien's room, and Sarvesh hit the doorbell. There was a delay, and then a very tired Alex opened the door, hair disheveled.
"What."
"Ah, Damien, erm..." Sarvesh said, and then trailed off. "He doesn't have his computer on, so he can't translate. Could you talk to him while I put Damien into bed?"
The centaur made its way past Alex, into the room, and set Damien into it.
"... He wander out? Hm." Alex said, and you knew that by now he wouldn't be very conscious.
>>
"Yeah, and gave some kind of ominous prophecy while having black eyes and floating before passing out. It was pretty unsettling."

"Yeah, and gave some kind of ominous prophecy while having black eyes and floating before passing out. It was pretty unsettling. We were in the canteen and all of a sudden he was there. He said something about 'The Void Queen is coming' and passed out in the doorway."
"What's unsettling is the way he keeps walking into me." He said, and then shrugged, and rubbed at his eyes, looking to his personacom. "It's like three AM. Why are you so goddamn spritely, Heather? Nevermind, don't answer that."
He chuckled, seeming to give up on why you were up and alert so early, and then crawled back into bed.
"Make sure to close the door when you make your way out. I can make sure he knows what he said. He told me he can't remember these sorts of things sometimes."
>>
>>23611533
"You do know he's blind, right? I doubt he can see you - his powers don't register you."
>>
>>23611533
He keeps walking into you because he's -blind-, Alex.

>Do not elaborate, just leave the room.
>>
>>23611533
"Thanks. Sleep well."
Let's start work on his drone.
>>
"He keeps walking into you because he's *blind*, Alex."
"Wait, he's what?" Alex asked, as you and Sarvesh made your way out of the room and close the door.
You make your way all the way into your workshop again, and you're pleased to see your tools right where you had left them, though they'd obviously been used in the interim.
For the third time in recent history, you got to work on a drone frame. Sarvesh clicked, buzzed... and then started to help, reaching for the high shelves for you.

Some time later, most of the ion thrusters were done alongside the frame and half of the computer equipment, and for the past few hours the lights slowly brightened.
You hear the door to your own room hiss open, and Anna crept out toward her own room. Not long after, Summer and her messy-haired manifestation walked into the workshop.
"You got up early." Summer said, her manifestation giggling. She seemed abnormally bubbly right now.
>>

>>
"That stunt yesterday really tired me out, so I woke up at around one AM and couldn't get back to sleep." You say, and turn back to Summer.
"So you just spent all morning building things." Summer said, and grinned at you. "Makes perfect sense. And why were you up, Sarvesh?"
"I always wake up at that time." Sarvesh responded.
"Anyway, Anna's getting changed, and then we're all going to have breakfast." Summer said. "Figured I should tell you. You're skipping too many meals, I think."
>>
>>23611910
"But I had ice cream earlier. That's a whole extra meal!"
>>
>>23611910
Sarvesh and I had midnight ice cream, and then Damien was weird. I didn't spend the -whole- morning making things, you know.
>>
"Sarvesh and I had midnight ice cream. That's a whole extra meal!" You say. "And then Damien was weird. I didn't spend the *whole* morning making things, you know."
"Damien is always weird." Summer said. "Come on."
"Do you mind if I join you?" Sarvesh buzzed.
"I don't." Summer said, and turned to lope away, as you and Sarvesh tried your best to keep up.

Anna scooped at her cereal, crunching at it with a peculiar look on her face. After getting back to her room, showering, and coming back, she hadn't said any words, and the one time Sarvesh tried to get her to talk, he got a glare for his trouble. You crunched on your own jam-covered crepes, and Sarvesh tried the same goop Damien was eating on the other end of the room, next to Alex and Jilly.
"So, I'm trying to figure out what I should learn to manifest next." Summer said. "As a living thing, I mean. Living things are hard."

"Make a squirrel!"
"A squirrel?" Summer asked. "... I don't know, I'm not sure that evokes enough imagination for me to manifest."

You look to Anna, and reach out with your mind. It was difficult for you to get your voice to her, to ask if she was alright. Her response was simple, wordless.

She needed to think, she said, and broke the connection.

"... You have a human you, so why not try a Nagala or Centaur you?"
"Yes! I'll do that!" Summer said. "Sarvesh, will you tell me how I look if I can do the centaur one?"
"Of course." He responded.
She closed her eyes and focused... and a pale red centaur appeared, much smaller than Sarvesh, with an almost pink carapace, and yellow eyes.
It buzzed in something that sounded like it should be words, but didn't quite sound right. "How's this?"
Sarvesh tilted his head.
"Kind of tiny." He responded. "You're an adolescent, aren't you? Your manifestation looks like it's a moult too young for that."
Summer focused, and the centaur swelled, the carapace losing most of the red tint, bleaching, as it got taller.

She wiggled her lower arms, the fingers wiggling.
"How's this?" She asked again.
"Much better." Sarvesh said. "You've an exotic shell, and you're rather attractive."
"Thanks!"

>>
"We'll need Jilly to verify if you're any good as a Nagala."
"Okay. I'll go ask her." Summer said, and walked across the room to Jilly on the other table, talking to her. A moment later, a second nagala appeared - this one had alien, large eyes, no facial muscles, and no breasts of any kind. Her tail was much more powerfully scaled than Jilly's... and Jilly clapped, exuberant, and hugged the new Nagala, flashing yellow.
Summer's Nagala flashed pink, and Jilly's eyebrows met. Her mind broadcasted confusion.
What did Pink mean?, her mind asked.
And then Summer's manifestation vanished, and mildly embarrassed, Summer returned.
"... Apparently I make a good nagala." Summer said.
"It looked like something extremely embarassing happened."
"It, uh... nevermind." Summer said, laying her tiger head on the table. "I think I'm done manifesting new mes, for now."

"Oh dear." You say, and change subjects. "What time to classes start today, by the way?"
"After breakfast." Anna said, still staring down at her cereal, taking a halfhearted bite now or then.

"My councilor thinks that my limits are 'conceptual limits', and I just need to figure out how to think past them." Summer said. "But I can't do anti-anything because I don't know how anti-anything works. I can't... imagine it."

You scoot closer to Anna, and put your hand on hers, ready to open your mind again, but she jerked it away and gave you a cold look, scooting away from you again.

You do your best not to pout, quivering lip aside, give Anna a sheepish look, and then you go back to your food, your enthusiasm abated, and you soon finished breakfast. You all made your way to class.
Time passed, and Anna's expression never quite changed. Near the end, during lunch, Max came in.

"Do you know who that is?"
"This... Void Queen? No, I don't." Max said. "Not offhand, anyway. I'll see if I can do some research to figure it out."
"Does this happen often?"
"... It's only happened two or three times. He never remembers it, and says something cryptic. It's always true, but it's never quite... clear, what it means. "It didn't sound too great at all. Maybe step up our training? Just in case?"
"... I'll have to speak with the researchers, but... I think that sounds like a good idea."
you think about things, and raise a hand.
"Could it possibly be linked to the riots back on Burer's Glyph?"
"We've looked into Burer's Glyph, but nothing strange or psionic happened there." Max said. "Even your footage didn't notice anything out of the ordinary."
"Any idea when the new TK array will get done? I want to break it before this Void Queen shows up."
"The new array's been put in, and it's a lot more resiliant, now." Max said. "It should hold up to the same force you used on it last time. It should be ready by the time class is over." He said. "Now, I'll let you all get back to your meal. Sorry for holding you up."

Lunch was over, soon enough, and all of you walked into Dr. Manus's class, as he went back to his classical literature, and after that, the machine on his desk buzzed, signifying the end of classes.
Alex and Jilly almost immediately started talking, while Sarvesh started tinkering with his hand, and Summer left the room to go to her manifestation training.

"It's okay." She said. "I just need time to think. I'm not angry. I just... recieved a disturbing message."
She shook her head, and then got to her feet, waving at you as she made her way back to the dorms.

For your part, you make your way up to the technopathy computer, where Keen was sleeping and where Manus was looking over the data. Compared with the massive team of technicians in Anna's own testing chamber, this one was relatively unmanned.
"Oh, hello, Heather." The doctor said. "You plan on practicing more? James finished a smaller version of Elysium over there, and we can plug it into your chamber if you want to practice. I have to say, results so far are promising."
>>

>>
>>23613365
"Let's do it!"
>>
"Awesome." You say. "I'll be sure to bring Mini-Elysium with me when I go. But yes, I'm here to practice."
"Alright, then climb in." The researcher said, and you did so.
This time, you notice something new on the goggles. A simple dial, allowing you to swap modes easily.
"So far it's real easy to destroy things, but that's not quite what I'm trying to do." you say, examining Mini-Elysium with all three modes. "Right now it's kind of like... trying to manipulate dust particles with your fingers. Even the tiniest motion just wrecks everything. I imagine it'll get easier as I go, though.

Swapping modes to the physical structure, you close your eyes, and start to focus. Mini-elysium was much larger than it needed to be, the chips blown up in size and spread apart from the other components, making it much easier to hold the whole computer in your head.

You pout on your way out of the chamber, a dejected expression on your face, and apologize for melting the machines.
"What do you tink I should train, Doc?" You ask. "I think telekinesis might be the problem because last time I practiced it, I wrecked the whole Array."
"The array is stronger now." Manus said. "And we can start training you for precision. You have strength, you just need more finesse."
"Guess I'll go try it, then."
"Right, okay." The doctor said. "James, repair mini-elysium, set the room to inactive for now, and get back to work on the physics simulator for Summer."
"Yessir." Keen said.
That said, Manus led you out of the technopathy room, and all the way up to the Telekinesis array. The plates were all new, and the spheres were there again - but the cables tis time were much thicker, and instead of plating on the other end of the room, it was smooth, mildly reflective metal, all one solid object.

"Okay, what we need you to do now is simple." Manus said. "Just... give the 5D sphere one pound of force. No more, no less."

You hold pushing the force there.
"Now... a few spheres over is 7B. I need you to pull that one exactly two units of force back."
Holding out your other hand, you focus, visualizing pulling it...
And then dizziness flooded into your mind, and you wobbled. It was almost impossible to focus on two things at once, and that's what Manus wanted you to do - to push on one object, and pull on another.

"Okay, now, try it again. One unit of force forward on 5D, two units back on 7B." The doctor said.

>Damnit, anon, I had a whole other post with a hull breach and Manus yelling at you and everything!

"Okay, just... focus, Heather." Manus said. You closed your eyes for a moment, taking a deep breath. This was just like futurecraft. You just had to focus on more than one thing at a time.

You open your eyes, and your mind crystalized. You pull 5D exactly one unit forward, and 7B two units back.
"Hold it there... and expand the force pushing 5D, please." Manus said. "So that it pushes 4C through 6E."
Gently, you expand one of your forces, nudging it forward. "Just a little harder."

For an entire half hour Manus has you doing that, adding a third and fourth manipulator eventually, making sure you pushed only so much at certain times... and then finally your counselor said that would be enough.
"... That was splendid, Heather." He said. "You did well."

>They tear past the array, into the wall, and there was a loud hiss as the holes in the hull started expanding, the entire room blowing out...

" -- which is why it would've been okay if you tore the floor out. So don't worry." Manus continued.
You blink, and rub at your eyes for a moment.
"I guess I'm really good at TK, when all I really wanted was to be able to talk to robots."
"You just need more practice." Manus said.

You take a few deep breaths, set the chamber to an hour, and climb in.
With the hissing you were used to by now, gravity lessened, and soon you were floating in the chamber, with nothing to see, nothing to hear, or even feel, floating in nothingness...
And you reached outward. Not far from you, similarly nude, was Anna, curled into the fetal position, lightning wracking through her limbs. Her readout, you sensed, said there were ten minutes left.

Manus was in the telekinesis array, looking at the video record. "Right here, when her EEGs spiked. Showe me the camera view."
He looked at the camera view, and through the picture, you saw it. There was a half-formed black sphere floating in the air for only a picosecond, before it vanished again. You recognized it as the moment your mind had crystalized.

Jilly, you sensed, was talking to her counselor, not touching her at all, doing it all alone. Sarvesh was in his room, setting the pressure before he turned back to his computer, turning on the videochat. You saw a pale-carapaced centaur on the screen, and the two started chittering together.

Summer was in her dorm, pacing. She focused for a moment, and then Winter appeared.
Summer didn't say anything, but she pulled the manifestation into a tight, tight hug.

In Damien's room, Alex was sleeping, a bottle of headache meds on his bedstand. Damien was lying on his own bed, and he waved up at you.
"What're you up to?" Damien asked. "Doing the whole isolation chamber thing?"

"I can't, really. I'm not sensing anything." He said. "It's hard to explain. In my own perspective, I know what you *will* say, though I can't hear it, so to me I'm just talking to thin air."
"Did Alex tell you about your thing earlier?"
"Yeah, he did." Damien said. "I forgot what he told me I said, though, but I always do. I just can't seem to retain the information for long, even if I write it down."
"I can see Alex, which is cool."
"I can see him too, most of the time." Damien said. "It's only some of the time when I can't. It's weird."

"Yeah, I'll keep an eye on him." Damien said, nodding, suddenly serious. "I can do that no problem."
"Maybe you should write down the times and circumstances that you can't see him. You might notice a pattern and figure out how his power works."
"That's what the docs have me doing." He said. "Or will have me doing in a few days, after they find out that I can't see him all the time. I'm already keeping records."
He shrugged. "You know, I've never actually been inside of an isolation chamber? In a way, I'm actually kind of scared of it. Of what might happen. I have a feeling I'd go completely bonkers from sensory overload or something."

"You realize that I can't see myself, right? In any of my visions?" He said, getting to his feet. "Turn away for a bit, I'm going to change. Or you could keep watching, if you want."
You turn your view to the sleeping Alex as Damien climbs into his bathroom, and comes back out in something thicker and warmer.

Perfectly still, floating in nothingness, with no senses but mental ones... you reach into Damien's Personacom. Not trying to force your way into it, as usual, but... telepathizing with it. It was as complex as a living mind, just a little different. No wonder you were doing so much damage. Here, you can sense that, and you can... tweak it.

It buzzes, and rings, loudly. He freaks, jumping and grabbing at it, flipping it open, and the projector points at the wall.
The projector, according to your will, shows your face.
"Hi Anna!" Your projection says, waving at her. "I'm in the Iso chamber, trying ESP."
"What." Damien says, and holds his head, his pupil pinpoints. "How. The fuck. Did you change the future so goddamn drastically."

"Oh." You say, finally. "Do you... want to? How did you join and leave them anyway? I'd miss you if you decided to leave, though. I guess I'd just have to get extra good at telepathy."
"I haven't decided yet." She said, and turned to the isolation chamber she was in not long ago. "That's why I went in there. To see if it could help me decide. It ... didn't, really." she said.

There was a hiss as Damien came out of the chamber... and then he set it to twenty minutes and climbed back in.

Anna sighed.
"I can't decide." She said. "What do you think?"
>>
>>23615389
NO! We can cry and try to convince not to go. jeez
>>
>>23615448
"Well... I'd rather you didn't, but it's up to you."
>>
>>23615448
"I would rather you stay. We just met. There is so many things that I would like to know about you. So many more things we have to do together, all the fun to have together. Food to taste, places to explore.."
>>
>>23615481
>Damnit fingers
didn't go, but
>>
>>23615448
"I'd like it if you stayed. If you can't decide then you should stick around until you make a decision, you don't want to rush off and regret it later."
>>
>>23615448
"Uh...no offense, but I'm not exactly in a position to offer unbiased advice here. Do you want me to convince you to stay? I don't even know anything about these friends of yours, or how your life was when you were with them."
>>
>>23615500
Let's go with this.
>>
>>23615448
"I...I don't know who he is, but, well, I really would prefer it if you stay."
>>
>>23615448
"Well, I came here because I thought that I'd be happier in the long run for it. So I guess my advice would be to pick whichever one would do that for you."
>>
>>23615448
"Damien said I was going to explore the galaxy's wonders in a massive spaceship. Maybe you could be my fighter pilot!"
>>
>>23615448
You should stay. I like you being here.

Unless you, uh, you like him. Then you should go.
>>
>>23615448

"i won't lie to you, i really don't want you to leave but i don't want keep you here just because i feel that way. it's just that i like hanging out with you and so do Jilly and summer. I'm still fuzzy on the details about getting you and Damien to get along better but I'm sure we can work something out!"
>>
>>23615448
"I can't really offer any unbiased advice. All I can say is that I would be sad to see one of my friends leave."
>>
>>23615448
"I guess life was pretty exciting if you were a fighter pilot, compared to here I can sort of see why you'd be bored."
>>
"Uh... no offense, but I'm not exactly in a position to offer unbiased advice here. I don't even know anything about these friends of yours, or how your life was when you were with them. Do you want me to convince you to stay?"
She nodded, silently.
"I can't really offer any unbiased advice. All I can say is that I would be sad to see one of my friends leave."
She thought about it for a few moments, and then sighed.
"I'll decide later." She said. "Because the longer I stay, the more I'll learn."

Suddenly, there was a bang from the chamber. And another.

Damien barreled out of the isolation chamber, and pointed at Anna.
"I... see things." He said. "I know how you can learn TK."
She stared at him.
"Pendulum! You need a pendulum, and maybe something approaching earth gravity, and... well, I'll just go talk to professor Neva about it."
He took a deep breath. "Also, Heather, sometime later you'll learn something a lot like Summer's demanifestation. Except weirder. Deconstruction, or erasure or whatever. I don't know the name for it. Black spherical things."
With that said, he started walking down the hall in a hurry.

"...huh."

... Does he have clothes on? We go into the iso chamber nude.
>>
>>23615678
in after.
>>
>>23615661
"Dematerilization? That sounds kinda cool don't you think Anna? Maybe we should follow him to hear what else he saw."
>>
>>23615661
"Hmm. Could you tell if he was more bonkers than usual?"
>>
>>23615703
He's got to tell a researcher now, since he'll forget about what he saw soon. No time for pants!
>>
>>23615661
"Do you want to try that Anna?"
>>
>>23615661
"Wasn't that fun? I haven't had evening meal yet, care to join me, Anna?"
>>
>>23615661

wait, your clothes!

silently freak out "I've seen those black spheres before."

>sleep time
>goodnight.

I see what you're thinking on
>>
>>23615703
>He does. He went into it with his clothes on, because he wanted something he could distract himself with in case he started seeing Bad things.

"Dematerialization?" You ask. "That sounds kind of cool, don't you think, Anna?"
"That does sound cool, but I'm excited about TK more." She said.
"Wasn't that fun?" You say, and giggle. "I haven't had evening meal yet. Care to join me, Anna?"
".. Yeah, sure." She said. "One reason I don't want to go is because the food is much, much, much better than rations."
She shot you a grin.
"So, what are you going to make for me?" She asked.

The entire way up to the cafeteria, other than the times Anna got tired and had to rest, she goaded you into making her something - anything.

To Anna
"I saw that earlier, some sort of alternate timeline, I got frustrated and fired those into the wall and spaces the tk room.

We should make her a robo-burger. It can have a pump that you squeeze to spray real burger flavor into your mouth, while being made of metal and obviously fake.

Can Heather cook?
>>
>>23615764
Wow didnt you end early today Exa?

>>
>>23615796
Heather's nowhere as good as her dad at cooking, but she's still picked up quite a bit from her.

>>23615799
Unless I drastically fucked up with the DLS, I ended at around the same time as I normally do.
>>
>>23615799
Have the clocks gone back an hour or something? Everything is off-time for me today.
>>
>>23615831
They jumped forward an hour.
>>
>>23615831
Daylight Savings Time.
>>
>>23615840
>>23615870
Damn, that would be it then.
>>
>>23615870
Yeah, due to daylight savings time my clocks are adjusted an hour. I still run for the same *amount* of time, though.

Posted this the other day, but then I realized it was missing the rudders which I added on. How much do shuttles in this setting typically cost by the way?
>>
>>23615816
Huh, DLS doesn't start for another 3 weeks here.
>>
>>23615816
No you ended exactly one hour early. Oh well doesnt matter bye!
>>
>>23615914
The most basic shuttles cost around 5-25 thousand dollars. Essentially the cost of life support, the hull, and the ion thrusters. A true ship - one with a small bubble drive - could cost ten times that.
>>
>>23615936
It started an hour early also.
>>
>>23615958
How long does he usually run threads for? I must confess I never paid enough attention to notice an exact schedule.
>>
>>23615974
I normally run for five hours, and sometimes go past that - and almost never stop before then.
>>
>>23615999
Ah okay. Surprised that you manage to keep such a rigid schedule almost every day.
