Somehow, a supposedly leisurely day is not free of this curse this island placed on you, for a supposedly relaxing time at a hot spring you’ve stumbled upon an unexpected Pandora box inside a cave of unusual, glowing blue crystals after succumbing to your curiosity.
Perhaps thinking back on how you’ve come face to face with this radiant woman is how you deal with your disbelief, after all not only did she reveal herself as your departed mother but also that you’re hosting something…. Nasty, for brevity sake and of course you’ve been feeding it during your adventures when you needed to get rid of Corruption, and Holy.

‘’You… lie’’

It’s the only conclusion you come up with, likely your mind is jumping to conclusion due to shock but right now, even if this unnamed woman is able to fill you with impossible peace and gentleness, your mind jump back in alertness as you stare into the two golden circles of the long haired self-titled…

Wait she never said she was a god.

‘’You expect me to believe you’re, somehow, my mother and that… you are what you said you were?’’

You could believe her, you want to believe her in fact and gazing at her forlorn stature wound your heart and pride, as if you are lashing out to your mother but you’ve had enough of the ‘’trust me’’ card, while you may swallow your frustration around Tsu, someone as strong and strange as that woman somehow wearing the persona of the dead is too much for you to swallow.

You reject the peace of mind brought on by standing next to this person, even if your sentiments scream that your actions are anathema.

You’ll have to think of an excuse later about this rise of emotions for the girls, but right now you’d like for this person to explain herself.

‘’Yes’’

She interrupted when you were about to press your point, and after a few seconds where you stare at her, she slowly lift her right arm upward, her visage forming a gentle, melancholic smile and you almost regret questioning her, but you can’t be satisfied with her explanation.

‘’We’ve met twice on this island’’

You can only frown in disbelief, however when the woman exhale, a small golden butterfly escape her raised palm and slowly, the glowing insect make way down to her chest and disappear within, traversing her heavy robe and in the span of half a second, right after you finish blinking her physique changed into someone else entirely, one that you know very well.
Long, light brown hair cascading down her back and kept clean at the level of her cheek, focused, yet gentle chestnuts eyes coupled with a timid smile and petite build that rob nothing of the pure, raw spirit burning bright inside of her, a perfect replica of Mana Shieffer stand a few meter in front of you as you contain your disbelief, and remember a certain day…
Shortly after your arrival on the island, you assisted and acted during the festival of the First of Spring where you witnessed Ame-no-Uzume inject an unbelievable amount of corruption into the water dragon; shortly afterward you took a brief respite inside the archery range only to find yourself accosted by someone in the guise of Mana, but now, finally, it make sense. The one that prevented you to commit a horrible mistake was Mother Earth.

You’ll have to get used to that name.

‘’So that was you…’’

You say, low as you try to remember the discussion with difficulty, as if the memory is the vision of the horizon wrapped in fog.
‘’I’m sorry for disturbing you…’’

You notice her voice has stayed the same, it isn’t quite like that of Mana, changing her usual curt tone to gentleness, but… well you might be fooling yourself in thinking it’s similar, but you don’t might as much anymore.

‘’…I wished to speak with you then, it is hard to resist helping my beloved boy.’’

You break eye contact with her, preferring the ground for a few moments as you contain the aching pain in your heart and of course confusion, the sense of loss and longing at losing your only family still feel real despite what you saw, but when you gaze upon Mother Earth once more…
You almost enter Focus and skewer her.

An impossibly long time pass as you contain your rise of emotions and stare into the golden swirl of Mother Earth, or maybe you should say Avina? Mayhap Lilim shall be more fitting? Yet, upon gazing at her you feel pain in your forehead as you question, wasn’t Avina snow haired and blue skinned?
Aah no matter, right now your hands are clenched in fists and your teeth hurt as your jaw do the same.

‘’No Lilim could so easily infiltrate the inner sanctum of Zipangu, I had to lie in order to wake the Demon Lord, Siegfried, and for that you have my deepest apology’’

And then, the golden butterfly escape her chest, and as you force yourself to look, the entire silhouette of your long departed friend flash briefly in gold and Mother Earth stand before you once more, looking at you in the eyes despite the obvious hurt on her face.

‘’If you wish to depart at once and leave my presence for the rest of your life, then I will accept it. But know, my son, that you and Daiyu Jawahir share the same conflict, and this time I finally resolved myself to act instead of observe… but I’m sorry, I just… couldn’t bear to lie to you again now that you’ve sought me out…’’

Her voice broken by emotions cease as she struggles, wiping a few runaway tears before they crawl downs her gorgeous face.
This is a lot to take in, for a moment you eye the exit of the cave ; you could easily walk out and wash your hands cleans, or you could speak to your mother, your certain that it is truly her this time.

‘’I see…’’

You rub the back of your neck as you awkwardly settle your emotions; you’ll have some time later to think back on past events if you so wish, but at least you’ve been given some pieces to the overarching puzzle behind the Demon Lord awakening; nothing short of a goddess could infiltrate the inner sanctum of the fortress, you’ll probably have to rethink your impressions of the security.

Even so, it would seem that all of Tsukiyomi and Mother Earth actions were done in preparation for this upcoming conflict, and somehow the Demon Lord needed to be set free.

Seem like your digging inside the rabbit hole more and more.

‘’I don’t think I can bring myself to hate my mother’’

You felt more shock and surprise at her shape shifting than anything else; somehow your words bring a small laugh out of the long-haired mystic, but her expression is one of gratitude and you heart tighten with guilt when you recall that you were actually resolved to walk out and never see her again.

You probably would have been unable to forgive yourself afterward.

Wager to get out of this suddenly awkward mood, you decide to question her further instead of looking more uncomfortable.
‘’Why, then, is the Demon Lord so vital that you forced yourself to act and lie, both to me and Tsukiyomi?’’
There’s barely a pause after your question, yet Mother Earth somehow look peaceful, as if all the bad emotions brought by the earlier reveal have flown out of her, which in turn help you with your own inner struggle as if she’s somehow channeling serenity directly to your heart.

‘’Tsukiyomi thought that reuniting the heroes, as well as forging the alliance of the island early, would give her the edge she needs to see this conflict, but the truth is that she, along with her daughter, have no plan of living past these 30 days.’’

You feel another surge of emotions but prefer to remain silent, instead looking at your mother with resolve as she proceeds.

‘’Unfortunately the peace you, her and your brother seek will collapse on its shaky foundations, even if any of you live survive.’’

She speaks with certainty, as if she peered into the future, history has no records of such oracles, and all of them were charlatans.

‘’Only you and the Demon Lord can create the bridge between man and monsters, but how, unfortunately, I do not know’’

Then she pauses and sighs, closing her eyes, finding her next words being too much of a burden for her to look at you.

‘’You will, most likely, have to betray man, monsters and angels to accomplish this, my son I will ask you the same question; Duty, or Love?’’

>even if any of you live survive.’’

I'm sorry, /tg/. I really am.

That should be read as ''even if any of you survive''
>>
>>23646552
It should actually be "even if you all survive" or "regardless of your survival".

The former concludes that even if Sigfried, his brother, Tsu, and Ame all survive the war that the peace will still eventually collapse. The latter concludes that the survival of the four people has no bearing on the peace being able to continue, and that it will collapse no matter what permutation of survivors there are.

‘’I am greedy at heart, and will try to find a choice that lets me have both.’’

You’ve been repeating yourself quite a bit, accepting your greed and finding strength in it is something you can probably count at as a virtue and you never lied to yourself about your intentions, and made it known when asked; to choose the impossible is your dream but, as you look at your mother, you feel your determination waver slightly as she shake her head.

No matter, you have to continue.

‘’I can't answer until the choice is right in front of me."

As much as you loathe them, you’ve gotten better at making snap decision, you’ll make the choice you think is right when it happens.

Such thought bring you back to the situation concerning Emeth creation, but you push back the images with grim resolve and find solace in the fresh air of the cave, for a time at least.

‘’You can’t afford yourself such indecision’’

You can’t resist making your displeasure known on your face, but your mother doesn’t stop.

‘’Siegfried, if you wish to go down the rabbit hole, you must resolve yourself to do whatever it take, if only to save those you love’’

Mother Earth eyes you warily, you can’t deduce her expression but the weight of her words feels heavy, much more than whatever Tsukiyomi asked of you in the past

The fuck we can't. We've dealt with problems as they came well enough so far.
The question is also kinda pointless and only there for dramatic effect, since Siegfried already choose to follow his di... heart over his common sense or sense of duty multiple times and I don't see this tendency changing any time soon.

Siggy already came to terms with not living past these 30 days as long as everyone he cared about remained safe and if he could make what he left behind safer and better for them.

If he had to he would turn his back on a chance to do so. Especially if the other option was for everything to collapse like a house of cards.

But what the shit.

A long weary sigh escape your lisps and you break eyes contacts with Mother Earth, preferring to observe the countless shining blue crystals on the roof of the cave for a moment as you try to form your words, and resolve to your upcoming duties, whatever they may be.

"I had a feeling you'd say something like that.’’

You look back at her seemingly carefree attitude, Mother Earth gives you a brilliant smile with her hands behind her back, perhaps she’s unable to do anything else.

"I choose Duty; my loves would only be disappointed in me if I don't live up to their expectations.’’

Inevitably, you feel scared at your own decision and wonder if you actually have the resolve needed by your mother, right now the only reason why you even have the strength to face Mother Earth is because you don’t want the future of any of the girls robbed by some kind of inevitable ill fortune, to think the peace that Tsukiyomi and Ame have worked so much for can be shattered so easily…

Anger slowly rises in your heart, and you make sure to not let it blind you.

Then, Mother Earth nod

"Siegfried… I think an answer to your queries is long overdue."

"Mother?"

You can’t help but ask, rather puzzled as to what prompted her to suddenly say something of the sort, but it seems that this lady isn’t going be swayed. Not anymore and with a few precarious steps to close the distance, you make sure to relax and keep your guard down. For some reason Mother Earth gave you the mental image of a small, scared animal despite her grace and lovely smile.

Perhaps, despite the divinity you’ve glued onto her, she may be much more human than you thought.
Holding up her index finger, her previously happy and carefree expression changes into slight mischief as she looks at you in silence. You almost raise an eyebrow when her finger suddenly starts glowing gold, shedding some kind of glitter powder reminding you of gold dust, yet the odd thing is that none of it stuck to her skin. In the half darkness of the cave, Mother Earth slowly moved her hand and traced a symbol in the air - slow, simple yet meticulous, you end up staring at something that, for once, doesn’t escape your knowledge.

The symbol of infinity.

It glows gold, shining bright and true like two serpents and, somehow, you feel an uncharacteristic pain in the back and front of your head. A throbbing very much reminiscent of the days your amnesia was at its strongest, and you resist rubbing the pain away and instead look to your mother, her smile is enough to reinvigorate you.

"I’ll unlock the seal…"

She says slowly, the symbol still shining as she slowly moves her finger toward your forehead, leaving it alone, and hovering.

"…It’s probably going to hurt. I’m sorry."

No pain no gain. You give her a smile full of bravado and decide to push her on for good measure.

"I’m done stumbling in the dark."

Not a moment after, Mother Earth slowly touches the middle of your forehead. Her finger feels warm and alive, and you brace yourself for some kind of immediate nerve damage. As the seconds tick, you are left wanting.

Until you feel a slight feeling of vertigo and find yourself uneasy on your feet as it changes into nausea. Strange uneasy warmth slowly invades the inside of your head and you can’t help but feel scared at the progression. It’s the first time in your life you feel like that and… Well, your mother is standing right there, you have to show some guts right?

--

You close your eyes and a crystal image suddenly appear in your mind, forcing your hot forehead numb.

Corpses strewn about as people, monsters and humans, fight on the battlefield. A certain psychosis you are very much used to but, as you look on with a bird's eye view, you notice a scene very much unlike the other; a young man lies dead near the trees, the body of an unfamiliar angel at his feet and his guts skewered by a very familiar blue spear. You are looking at yourself, dead and the blond hero is openly wailing. You make out a single word, "Sorry."

The scene shifts again, calm within another battle, sunset. Athena is standing amidst the rice field, her demonic arm changed and morphed to something large and abominable, even grown past her shoulder to stick to her face but somehow, there is no evil or disgust to be found. You see yourself lying at her feet, dead and you finally spot a few run away tears as she thank you.

For what?

Another scene appears, you and your brother standing back to back facing creatures you cannot see, but all around the world is glowing white and the sky seems to have shattered and cracked. The aftermath of the church's weapon. Neither you nor him will live past this day, you already see yourself vomiting corruption.

Images shuffle again, this time you see yourself in extravagant attire inside what you immediately identify as a church. The image sharpens. You are holding someone, a girl, kissing her in fact; she’s wearing a magnificent large, pure white wedding dress, you spy long golden locks flowing on her back and finally identify her; Leila, the Purifier. A long and happy life to the married! Standing not too far is your clapping brother saying "What a whirlwind romance! Long live the newlyweds!"

You died on the fateful 30th day.

Next you see a Hollow victory. Zipangu triumphant over the church, you are standing inside a desolate keep likely destroyed by siege weapons. The sun is setting on your last day to live and you are alone by choice. Your body is covered in strange black tattoos and corruption escapes your mouth incessantly. The voice of an unknown young man, as if you are delirious, but you know perfectly well it isn’t yours. ‘’You failure of a vessel! Give me back my due this instant!’’ Strangely young, probably an adolescent, you are holding your sword, The Laminas Angelorum, which has lost its shine and was pointed towards you and… Driven deep inside your body while in the background, Zipangu rejoices.

Warmth, you are sleeping with a certain green scaled, smallish mantis.

Warmth, you are enveloped in the pale white tails of Ame-no-Uzume as the two of you lie naked in bed during the night.

Pain, a scene you don’t want to see. The golem Emeth lies strewn, destroyed in the forest as you watch in anger and sorrow. The perpetrator, Belvedere.

Pain, you see yourself on your knees as you touch a lifeless blue puddle, "I killed her. I ate her." Is what the young man, Siegfried Shieffer, says in grief.

Loss, as you battled foe and ended bloodied your ever fateful bodyguard is dying with arrows and blades stuck in her body, even so she rest her back to the wall, painting it crimson as you register the area to be inside a castle or keep, she’s smiling despite blood running down her mouth and nose, a peaceful, very painful smile and as you try your best to shoulder her and proceed onward, her last sentence reach your ears ‘’Thank, my little prince’’

Fatality; you and Kyorn are mortally wounded after what you can only guess is a duel, one of his wings is cut, and you are missing a hand. The wounds are deep and truly gruesome and he says, slowly as if his emotions share amusement and anger in equal measure. ‘’Sorry, I just wasn’t able to sit still while you hurt good people.’’

It never ends; the scenes come again and again in increasing crescendo. You lose all sense as you are forced to watch event after event, memory after memory.

Sensory overload, you let out a wail as you start losing your very ego until a sharp pain pulls your fleeting consciousness back where it belongs.

Disorientation, vertigo, and nausea all mixed into a very unhealthy package, you notice that you are sitting ungracefully with your back resting on the wall. You feel a brief spasm in your abdomen and you instinctively know what is going to happen before you truly process it; you make sure to move sideways and let out an unhealthy gargle as the content of your stomach inevitably hit the ground.

Your head feels somehow sensible, hot, painful and numb all at once, as if some part of your brain switched off while others are running on overtime to compensate. You forgot most of what you saw but that was likely to be a defense mechanism; too much information was directly injected into your brain, instead you are left with something akin to an "impression" and certainty.

You put your hand on your forehead as you take in a healthy gulp of air, slowly rising to your feet while using the wall as a support. Mother Earth is close now. You feel her before you glance, and you smile to conceal the bitterness of the pain as you notice her clearly worried and concerned impression. You really were a momma boy in the past.

"Those were memories."

You say bluntly, still feeling unsteady, but you feel a smile spread on your lips when Mother Earth lets out a soft chuckle, stopping her stride at your side. You almost want her to pat your head but make sure to swallow your words for the sake of your pride.

"Yes, memories. Too much in fact, this is why amnesia was vital for your survival. Do you have an idea of what you just saw?"

She’s holding her index finger up again; this time thankfully it isn’t glowing.

"I’d prefer not to wrack my brain to hazard a guess."

Even so you already feel like you’re just about to grasp the answer. You share a long stare with Mother Earth, the seconds allow you to recover and finally, you see the mystic woman move her index finger once more to form the infinity symbol, without lighting up her finger this time.

"Loop."

Somehow you don’t feel a little bit surprised.

"30 days, and your death, repeating and forming an uncountable, dizzying amount of events and memories that have been absorbed into your soul, as well as those near you. Unconsciously, all of you reached out to each other, for joy and pain alike were shared, and the soul grows while the body dies and instead of passing on, I have trapped the entirety of this world in incessant, repeating 30 days.’’
Your next question is very obvious, you’re probably failing to process what’s she saying but you don’t care for now.

"The peace between men and monsters need to last… And if you are to die, Siegfried, that will not get rid of what’s inside you."

Ah… No easy way out…

That… Explain a lot of things. You can only look at your mother in stunned silence before you quickly remember something of importance in that sea of disconnected events.

‘’Daiyu wasn’t anywhere, I don’t even remember seeing any demons’’

Mother Earth face change, her expression stiffens as she nod to you, looking very much uncomfortable, perhaps even displeased but it soon melt into a more serious, pragmatic look.

‘’You will be in need of her to succeed, of that I am certain’’

Then she sigh and face you properly, you know what she’s going to say next is going to be important.

"Siegfried, I need you to choose Duty over love. You told me you are ready to fight and die for every one of those girls. I’m asking to do just that, even if you’ll have to betray them to accomplish this. You need to bear this onus if you wish to escape this incessant chain of events."

"I'll do what I think is necessary to create the future that I want; I can't guarantee that all of my decisions will be the ones you want, though."

You’ll need some time to settle on all of this information, you still feel weak and lightly nauseous but thankfully your body seems to be able to spare you further vomiting, it’s likely you’re going to stumble along the way, perhaps a lot, maybe too much, to say you want to change the future out of altruism is a complete white lie; you’re doing this out of the most selfish reason possible.

‘’You are my son and your own man, miracles are impossible, but we’ll have to try and work to create one.’’

We? Could it be that this goddess is going to involve herself?

However, there is an interruption inside the sanctuary, you hear the soft walking of boots resonating inside, and her voice is heard before you can gaze at her.

‘’Siggy?’’

The small, quiet voice of the golem root you on the spot as you look at her, her slow stride unending, slowly carrying her to your side.

‘’Just as he did, you sought him out.’’

Mother Earth speak with fondness, yet look forlorn despite the obvious maternal love she direct toward the curious golem who, despite being in the presence of a God, finally stop at your side to entwine her hand with yours.

‘’Siegfried’’

She demands your attention, forcing you away from the square, blood red eyes of Emeth.

‘’Inside of her is my gift, you ought to enter a soul link if you wish to succeed’’

‘’I…see’’

You still feel like the situation is going over your head, but with hesitation you turn to the young golem and look into her carmine eyes, you have no idea how to initiate any of it but it seems your mother will spare you embarrassment for she walk near the two of you, putting her hands on both your shoulders.
‘’She trust and love you whole heartedly, you need only open your heart, my son.’’

Similarly to Sylphis, Athena and Hadraniel, you let yourself bare and weak and a strange invasion of your body begins in earnest, as if a hunter waited in ambush it settle right in your midsection and you feel a brief, potent explosion of warmth before you gain your footing.

Emeth simply stared at you during the entire process, never letting go of your hand.

Finally, it’s over, the strange warmth – affection - decrease to a much more manageable level, very much like Hadraniel, you immediately comb the link for anything familiar, a possible impression or lingering feeling…

No trace of Avina, Emeth is truly her own person.

‘’What did I gain?’’

Your mother smile and step away, facing you and raising her index, on top of which is hovering a small sphere of fire and you immediately try to find some form of glowing veins or nerves to no avail, you can however, feel a very, very faint magic that would easily be missed like a slight, cold breeze.

‘’Enter Focus’’

You do, the familiar strength, clear mind and concentration bring a dangerous addictiveness that you’ve fought all your life, just like everyone of your kind.

‘’Hold up your palm’’

You oblige once more, aligning it with the fireball, not a second later the magical flames is shot directly to your hand and you brace for a painful burn… only to find yourself slightly energized, the throbbing of your head and nausea decreasing and you almost feel sated, as if you had a good snack.

‘’Consumption of magic, only activate if you embrace Focus but now, no spells with hurt you and you can break magical defense, and yes my son, you can imbue your projectiles with this nature’’

Thus, you have become one hell of a mage killer.

‘’Are you ready for us to discuss what you need to do?’’

"Yes. Please tell me everything. That I may save them from whatever fate lies in wait for them."

You clench your hands in fist and let go several time as you search inside of you for anything to identify this new ability with, beside Emeth constant glowering warmth you can’t find anything wrong inside of you, despite the fact you aren’t alone in your body.

‘’Very well, can we sit? It’s more comfortable this way’’

So says your mother who plop to the ground, letting out a satisfied ‘’aah’’ and you follow suit, almost tripping the silent golem in the process.

Silence, Mana… (Should you call her that? ) Seems deep In thought, look like even gods need time for briefing, even so this strange, unearthly peaceful atmosphere surrounding her never disappear and you actually have to fight the urge to put your head on Emeth shoulder and sleep.

‘’You will have to kill 4 persons’’

Now that’s sobering, you don’t even need to become serious, your body instantly straightens.

‘’None of them will bring misery or death to your lover through direct actions, it's the inevitable consequences and cascading catastrophe… you've all been victim of it for too long’’

Slowly, Mother Earth extend her arm, her index glowing gold, she trace an oval window between the two of you and the picture of a medium built, fair skinned female with horns come into view.

‘’Amarantha Amisi is the last of the Oni chieftain with a clear, solid bloodline tracing back to the great warlord that united the almost entirety of the Oni on the island. Tsukiyomi, Ame and Mebuchednazi, as good as they may be, are not omnipotent. The general knew patience, and has now played her card with subterfuge to ally with the church in the coming battle which will shift it in their favor. She struck a deal with the High General himself and Hieronymus Lex is known for keeping his word, but that also provide you with the opportunity you’ll need if you kill her’’

Her major extend, flowing and the image shift to that of a young, bored looking man with silver hair cut short, his attire is that of a man of the clothe but much, much too regal for any regular priest.

‘’Ahriman Edan is the High Inquisitor of the church and preside over his entire caste in the armed force, you can consider him something of a secret agent making certain the objectives of the Order are succeeded. He and Lex are in direct opposition and if you do not alter events with Amarantha, the High general will meet his inevitable end. This, my son, must not happen. Killing the Oni chieftain will acquire his attention and, most of all, give him a good first impression – find the opportunity to kill him, I’ll make certain it present itself.’’

You resist letting out a sigh and push back the images of the Butcher, Mana thumb extend and the image change into an angel, you see it immediately thank to the pair of white wings, he look very…. Metallic as if armor and metal has been grafted over his skin, especially his eyes; they look more like emerald than… anything else you can think of. Realization strike; it’s the unfamiliar body you saw during one of your memories.

You must kill him’’

Killing an embodiment, someone as strong as Hadraniel? You miss the movement of your mother and instead stare at the new picture, one that fills you with a very different dread. A beauty in white hair hovering on dark matter, bewitching smile and glowering red pupils, and deep, dark black, simply looking at her feels like she’s sucking out your soul.

She’s the missing link, the one that the Demon Lord will show you, of that I am certain’’

You mother stop, letting out a sight.

You.. .are feeling rather confused, but also resolved and you wonder… no you don’t need to wonder; you are going on a lonely path far away from those you love.

"I believe so.’’

It took you a long time to speak up, your free hand immediately rub the back of your neck, making your discomfort clearly visible and for a moment, you forget to speak as you look into Emeth square eyes.
You mother waited patiently.

‘’Must I kill them as soon as possible or in a certain order?’’

You look back to her, it seems Mother Earth expected this question for she answers fast and fluently.

‘’Amarantha will need to be killed in the coming battle, I will provide you with her position and you can ask Tsu to be deployed there you may… no you will need to abuse her trust and love, especially since you need to bring Emeth with you. Ahriman will be your next immediate target, you must get rid of him as soon as you can, of course doing so in the middle of enemy is suicide… which is why I will help, and you must get close to him in the meantime.’’

She stops, pondering, tapping her chin with her index, where have you seen someone do that before?

‘’The other two… will need to be dealt with when the opportunity arise, I cannot predict how quite yet, but you mustn’t strike at Orion carelessly ; he’s likely to be even stronger than Hadraniel’’

You squeeze the golem hand, this mission feels completely impossible right now, and thus you must ask the obvious.

‘’Am I able to tell others about this or must I keep it secret?"

Mother Earth face change into sincere empathy and, slowly, she put her hand on your head to rub it with affection, you already know what she’ll says.

‘’I… cannot recommend sharing this burden, Tsukiyomi and Ame have more than enough and they will be able to endure your betrayal and I suspect the girls you are linked too will seek you out.’’

She stops, changing the position of her hand to cup your cheek.

‘’Hadraniel love you with all her heart, but she also love Zipangu and dearly treasure Kyorn and Tsukiyomi friendship. Your action with the Oni will hurt her deeply, but she will be much more useful amidst the monsters. Now that she fully embraced her love, she has reached the apex of her potential and needn’t enter the shrine anymore, the Laminas Angelorum is no longer vital for your little angel survival. Mylen… is where I am met with uncertainty, she is loyal to you and only you, but her succubus wings will be an obstacle in the human camp, one that will be perhaps insurmountable and I know she will cut them off if you ask, but that will result in crippling her’’

She rubs her forehead before pursuing.

‘’The only one you can bring, Siegfried, is Emeth. But if you wish to disobey, I can only hope you are making the right decision, you won’t be entirely alone once you step with the Church, you remember Leila, don’t you?’’

A lonely path… Melancholy well in your hurt and look to the blue crystals of the roofs for answers, and find none.

‘’I’m sorry’’

Your mother says, unable to look at you.

Do you have anything else to ask?

"... Will I be joining the Church after the upcoming battle and killing the Oni?’’

Your talking with more gravity and inner strength, your emotions are settled and a certain serenity is left inside of you, perhaps helped by the golem, you aren’t alone in doing this, it’s not impossible.

‘’Yes’’

Your jaw tighten, the Church, you hate it with every fiber of your being, you’d almost laugh at this irony.

‘’Should I use the Butcher mask to assist in getting closer to Ahriman?"

Caught off guard,, Mother Earth frown as she immediately fall silent, you can almost hear the grinding of gears in her mind as her eyes lose focus, and, after Emeth squeezed your hand and said a soft ‘’Siggy?’’, Mana spoke.

‘’I… do not know’’

She admits.

‘’I can only offer hypothesis, your face and reputation is most likely already known, as for the conflict itself, Leila will be the unit dispatched to finalize the alliance and of course Ahriman will have some of his inquisitors infiltrated in the unit, this is why dispatching the Oni yourself is vital, but I also count on the lingering feeling left in Leila after all your countless loop, they’ve already affected her, if you were to wear your mask… I cannot predict how she will react’’
So, the Butcher mask may or may not be a good idea, this time you might have to kill monsters without it.

‘’If this works out completely.’’

You ask, almost timid, even so you have enough resolve to look at the goddess in her eyes, she look so very human right now, struggling to help you, and all the people in this conflict.

For now, all you see is a hill.

‘’I’ve never seen it’’

Mother Earth begin, her voice and visage soften into a motherly, dreaming attitude, as if she was speaking to a child.

‘’But monsters and humans will finally gain the chance for mutual understanding, angels will finally escape they’re isolations and demons… may finally change heart’’

A lot of it and buts, however she is a goddess as far as you are concerned and gambling for such a utopia, it’s fair to assume it won’t happen and will be met with its fair share of problems but the threat of mutual extinctions may actually become a fable.

‘’But to do so, you will betray Zipangu, Betray the Church and antagonize angels and demons’’

What a perfect villain you are, Siegfried Shieffer.

Just got here, and I can only say one thing on this.

Fucking. Called. It. I can now shit myself like I said I would. That one's gonna be the hardest. Also thought we'd have to face an angel. The High Inquisitor is no surprise. The only one out of left field for me is the Oni. Well, every war does have its traitors.

Time loop isn't an asspull thankfully, we did get a hint of it being the case at the swamp after all. Those visions had to come from somewhere and Siggy ain't no seer. Still, having to become triple agent isn't gonna be easy. Also, we Citan Uzuki now it seems. Well, at least I really liked that guy.

You do remember that this particular whore isn't alone right? She has a posse, like we do (or at least, did, if we go through with all this) and many of them can be considered dark mirrors of our own badass babes. Like I said, she's going to be the hardest one to kill and that's the primary reason for my assessment. Yeah, they won't see that one coming at all. But surprise attacks only work one time. I'm really worried about having to fight Ame or Tsu later. They will NOT be happy about it and their rage might blind them to reason. They trusted us, deeply (hell we slept with Tsu and called ourselves her lover). And what do we do to return their love and kindness? Backstab. Even if it isn't really a backstab it'll sure as fuck seem like it. Again, like Citan in Solaris. He was able to clear it all up but still, you really felt like he was playing you the whole time up till then. We might be able to spare the others, but those two...

Nothing hurts quite as bad as being betrayed by one you loved. Tsu is going to fucking kill us dead. And Ame will be fucking pissed at us for breaking her dear mommy's heart. So she'll make us suffer too. We are so fucked.

Umm, something I'm not understanding.

Our marriage to Ame is necessary in order for our brother to send reinforcements to Zipangu.
Our face and name, as well as affiliation, is also known. Especially with Belvedere, who is most likely to be working closely with the High Inquisitor.

How are we supposed to join the Church when we're near the top of its hit list, and our betrayal basically puts Zipangu and our brother in a worse position?

‘’I can’t think of anything else…’’

You try not to work your head too much, right now you are still absorbing all of this knowledge. Crossing Zipangu… That’s by far the worst of the worst? How can the alliance between your homeland and this land last if you don’t marry Ame-no-Uzume?

Bah, you’ll worry about it if it becomes an issue later on

‘’We took several hours speaking, but rest assured, you’ve merely lost a few minutes, I will never rob you of the time you have left with your lovers, my dear son…’’

Mana slowly rises and you can’t bring yourself to follow, your frustrations at the actions you are about to takes seem to suck the energy right out of you.

‘’This is not the last time we will speak, I’ll make sure to help you along the way, but now remember ; you must convince Tsukiyomi to deploy you with the unit of Amarantha with Emeth, the golem is extremely important for Tsukiyomi plans, but she hasn’t matured enough and conflict is just what she need; this argument would be enough coming from you to sway her’’
Manipulating and lying to your lover, off to a great start to be a hero, aren’t you?

--

A few minutes later, you realize you were completely alone inside the half-light cave, the fog covering the wall having completely disappeared you feel the links of the girls and notice absolutely no change, surprise or worry, as if they never felt your intense emotions.

Sylphis seem to be having fun with Athena, while Hadraniel embarrassing raise a chuckle out of you and Emeth, at your side, and simply radiate her constant pure small warmth that you have no idea how to identify.

Now, as you hold hand with the artificial girl, you wonder…

What now? The afternoon seems far from over, you have some time…

>This seem like a good place to start for tonight, unless you guys want to continue? I probably have enough energy for one last answer and that'll be it.

Wait, we should probably ask if we're allowed to tell this info to the demon lord.

This is a precarious problem that will be dealt with once we get there, remember that Belvedere was an inquisitor, a hunter, she's not high ranked enough for her voice to be listened too.

Siegfried Shieffer has no beef with the church, that's what they actually believe too, the murder of two agents and a High Inquisitor (during your Butcher phase) were all put on Mana because she made sure she was the one t obe accused.
>>
>>23651748
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-_nr-Tj4dtU

Hmmm...I just realized something. Even if we hadn't gone to Zipangu a betrayal of some kind would have still been necessary in the end.

It would have made the initial phase easier but the latter phase would have been more difficult. We'd already be in a position to off the Oni and the Inquisitor without a double cross right off the bat (covertly too, if we played our cards right), but then we'd have to backstab them overtly later in order to plug the Angel and wouldn't have any goodwill/connections with Zipangu to make our seeking asylum easier (besides Tsu, but the relationship would have been very different).

In this path, when we inevitably double double cross we'll actually have an explanation for our shenanigans and may be able to salvage the aforementioned things we've built up, which will make the latter phase easier (provided we survive, it's gonna be harder to do that in this path). This path also has a better chance of getting our posse back eventually, which we'll need to make the Deruella/Fallen Maiden Boss Battles easier. (Also, this path has Kyorn in the group. We would have had Hadraniel either way but here we got another servant. I also pray we don't run into him before the second backstab. He'll turn us into a fine red mist if we encounter him while "fighting" for the church).

So ultimately, it was a choice of easy then hard or hard then easy. Personally, I prefer to get the hard part done first so this works out quite well for me.

>>23652806
1/10. I don't feel all that mad because well, we are talking you here. I expected something extremely bad to come of this and it has. I just hope we get a chance to salvage things later like I indicated.
>>
>>23653031
We could leave a letter for Ame and Tsu, explaining that we're infiltrating the Church in order to take out a high value target, and explaining the treachery of the Oni. We could leave it with Mylen, to be read by them after we backstab the Oni.

The only question will be, how to take out Ahriman, and how quickly. I'd rather do it before we have to inflict lasting damage to Zipangu's strategic position in order to get close to him.
I would suggest poison of some kind, preferably a mineral-based contact poison.

Maybe if we had a teleport scroll, we could just kill him and then teleport out.
>>
>>23653172
I think it would be too risky to let them know based on what Mana said.

As for Ahriman, I imagine we'll have to get his trust to get close enough for an easy assassination. So we'll be his personal butcher for awhile I predict.
>>
>>23653201
We could leave some kind of hint, just something to let them know that we're not actually betraying them if they really think about it, but not enough to let them know what we're really doing.
That way the trust can remain intact and they'll still be protected.

That is how tyrants tend to die, by poison. Make it one that takes awhile to have an effect so we can clear out of dodge in the period between ingestion and painful death.

Unless he's ultra paranoid he won't be dousing himself in holy energy on a regular basis, though I doubt that'd help if the poison is strong enough. Oh, if only they knew about a pinch of Polonium in a drink or on food. Shit works wonders and takes awhile to have an effect. And by then, it's already too late.

You know, I don't know if we should use a poison that takes a long time; he's a High Inquisitor so likely has access to good healing magic.

>A very popular ritual for every church agents/members is to purify themselves at the end of the day with an healthy dose of Holy.

So yeah, it's going to have to be a fast-acting poison.
Maybe a gas? Because if we just set off a couple Zyklon B gas pellets while he's asleep might be enough.
>>
>>23653236
That may be a good idea, but no matter what there is no easy way out of this. I do like leaving the hint, but I'm not sure how to pull it off.

We will have to speak with Mylen in private. She has to be told of the plan in order to avoid any misunderstandings. If we double cross without telling her she'll either beeline for us or "help" us by helping the church somehow. Both are things we want to avoid for various reasons.

I believe it would be good to come forward with the truth to Mylen and establish our last soul link with her.

For one, she is loyal only to siggy, she'll help us out in whatever plan we do.

Two, what happens if we leave her here? It'll be unpleseant at the very least and possibly end in her death or imprisonment.

Three, having her stay outside the church camp gives us a wildcard to play. We could even frame the death of the High Inquisitor on 'a succubus' and take command, wreck havoc on the church forces through mismanagement and set ourselves up to be a direct POC for the angel and get a chance to strike him.

While very, very good at battle, hell she's a prodigy at it since she's a humie that not only keep up but is just as good as Hadraniel, you vastly overestimate her stealth and endurance, as well as underestimating the church surveillance.

I'd like to think that just outright killing everyone will have consequences of its own.

But, at the very least, you understand the sentiment I was thinking of when I suggested we kill the Inquisitor face-to-face. I'm satisfied with that much.

You can set it to easy modo if you just want to see the story. You can button mash your way to victory on that setting. I don't. She needs her for some kind of nuke. What exactly she's going to nuke, and with what, is uncertain at this point but something, or someone, is going to have a very, very bad day if she has her way.

I'm still not comfortable with Bletsia being in her "experienced" hands, but it does seem she's the key to a Continuum Shift as, well, she's apparently the only thing we haven't tried yet. Hope she's as nice as she seems but, only a fool trusts a demon completely. Especially if they have yet to earn any trust.

Well I like to keep simple reason for most of the problems, as seen today.

>>
Oh, I know a good reason to keep the General alive even if we didn't have to for the happy end now.

See, Deruella is pissed at him for taking Lescatie from her. She probably wants some sweet, sweet payback. Keeping him alive is a one way ticket to a fight with her if we stay in his general vicinity somehow.

Like when Anderson spared Integra, he knew what keeping her alive would lead to A fight with Alucard. That eventuality was something he dearly wanted and thus kept her alive. So he's our bait for that bitch. Hope we have the gang back together before she finds his sorry ass and either kills him turns him into an Incubus.

>>
>>23656561
We're an A rank Magus with an Imagine Breaker and soon, a super strong Golem. Said Oni also has no real reason to think we're out for her Beautifully horned Skull to add to glorious Khorne's throne. Hell, we could forge an order from Tsu or Ame (one of them's the supreme allied commander, their order would have some weight) to get her nice and alone with only our acid loaded spikes for company. And hell, given our "history" with Tsu us delivering the order wouldn't be a surprise. Muahahahaha, this is gonna be easy!

Don't forget to bring the head if we aren't seen by any church loyalists. They're gonna want proof that we did the deed after all. Heads are good proof!
>>

>>
>>23656803

>>
>>23656803
I meant Emeth but yeah, using the Mech would be a great idea for this. Oni are fuck you strong, mech would even those odds quite substantially. Plus hell it's not like anyone else can use it. Trick Tsu into making a summoning scroll for it (or ordering someone else to do it). Y'know, for in case we get in over our head in the chaos of battle. I feel like the worst scum of the Earth doing this to her. I really do, but like the anon who posted Ozymandias said, we can't leave anything to chance. I just hope Siggy's Morality score/sanity holds out. We're going to making so many degeneration rolls for Morality 3 sins it ain't gonna be funny...
>>
>>23656908

It is possible to summon the golem, yes... But then again, once yo uenter the church you can expect your every belonging to be inspected and those scrolls aren't common, unless you think you can convince someone to hide them...
>>
>>23656976
There's always one surefire place to hide something. A place we can be relatively certain nobody's gonna look that can get shit through even the tightest security. Hint: How do you think they smuggle contraband into prisons?

We can also ditch the scroll after we do the deed. Many ways to play this.

>"Very good, very good... Now, shove it up my ass."

I want you to take this mental image and savor it.
>>
>>23657088

He's gonna walk funny that's for sure.

I really wasn't planning for this
>>
>>23657070

Store it inside Elmeth?

Shes a golem after all. No one will notice an extra part or two.
>>
>>23657070
Damn, it would have been hilarious to "Keester Stash" a scroll into the compound. We can still ditch it though. It'll suck that we'll have to ditch the mech as well most likely. But hey, they'll let the Butcher have a new one in no time. Can't let an A rank magus go to waste as a mere frontline guardsmen. He gets to drive the tank!

>>23657088
There's still a limit. How big are we talking INH? Up to a point it can be done, it's just really, really uncomfortable.

>>23657126
The ass shoving comes after we've collected a certain Oni's head. Could have Emeth "eat" it too. Just gotta pump her stomach once we're alone inside the compound.

>>23657132
I aim to please.
>>
>>23657141

I stand by the ass smuggling option. It's the most entertaining. And will probably go down as one of the most memorable moments of this quest.
>>
>>23657141

Well teleportatio nis pretty high level but its not summoning a Hero, and if its keep secure with plenty of space, made by Tsu as well...

Can be done, but quite frankly you'd be stuck with it for a long while, I advise another solution.
>>
>>23657230
>Summoning Tsu after we've betrayed her, before we collect the Ahriman's head.

That's how you spell suicide son.
>>
>>23657230
Also, what do you mean stuck with it awhile? Worst comes to worse we just fish it out of the toilet. Put it in a tightly sealed container and we won't have to worry about the smell tipping people off to its hiding place in our quarters.
>>
>>23657276

Eh? I was talking about a scroll to summon the magitek Mech
>>
>>23657309

What I mean is you'd jhave to snuck it in before battling the Oni and keep it in all day, right up until yo uget to the (hopeful) point where you can get a little privacy inside the church camp.

Remember you'll stumble upon Leila during the fight
>>
>>23657341
Ah, so we have a "swag" option. Shouldn't be too hard to convince her, I hope.

That would also mean that it couldn't be used during the Oni fight as it'd be in our ass. Damn. Keester Stash would have been some great comic relief...
>>
>>23657373

Well I did say to myself this is the turning point for the quest with maximum pragmatism in mind...

>>23657391

Well, one doesn't shit everyday.

Just have to make sure to have a good one before you do the act.
>>
>>23657420

You guys will be the end of me, I swear.
>>
>>23657457

Rear end, right?
>>
>>23657391
Yes. And even after we swore to Mylen and the rest that we were done playing the "being a monster" game we have to become one again.

We are so, so fucking hosed on the sanity front. Oh well, rest of the cast has issues. I guess it is high time we picked up our own share of derangements. After all, it wouldn't be fair for Siggy to be the only one with a clean bill of mental health.
>>
>>23657457
Rule 1 of GM'ing: No matter how much you plan, or how well you think you know your players, they will always find a way to throw you for a loop.

Also known as the "Old Man Henderson" Rule. We will think of something that you honestly never saw coming. And it looks like I did! Yay me.
>>
>>23657457
Also, is there any chance of leaving some kind of hint that we're not doing this as a betrayal without putting them in danger?
If they think we're outright betraying them it's going to destroy their morale.
>>
>>23657505

Of course there is, simply put this is the time for you guys to be as proactive as you can, Mommy isn't watching over your shoulder, Tsu cannot give you any direction, Ame cannot order you.

Yo uare on your own, completely.

>>23657471

Everyone is perfectly mentally healthy!
>>
>>23657525
>Everyone is perfectly mentally healthy!
Next you'll be saying that Rhy is an extrovert or that Athena will actually be useful at least once.
>>
>>23657525
Excellent, well lets leave a note to Tsu letting her know that we've gone to achieve plans of our own towards victory, and that she should trust us to achieve our ends and that we hope she achieves hers, and that we will be back as soon as possible.
Tsu can let Ame know what's going on and we can leave our first two ladies without word, we can continually let them know what we feel through our link.
Haddy is going to be really broken up regardless of the link, so maybe some kind of hint before we leave should be dropped off to her.
Mylen is the big maybe for me, it'd be advantageous to bring her with us simply because she'll be insanely useful if things go pear shaped and her loyalty lies to us and not the monsters, but her lack of stealth abilities makes bringing her downright hard.
>>
>>23657599
Plus she'll have to chop her wings. Who knows what nerve endings they're linked too. Could make her legs slower, which would seriously gimp her combat ability. I say we leave her with Tsu and the crew after telling her to have faith in us and to follow Tsu's orders and not betray them unless we say otherwise. She'll keep her bloody mouth shut if we tell her to.
>>
>>23657525
Sure, right. I'm not drunk enough to believe that. Ask me on Sunday, I'll probably be hammered enough to buy it then as I down shots while listening to Irish Drinking Songs (like I do every St. Patrick's Day). So will alot of us, fair warning if you do run the quest again this week. At least half of us will be plastered on that day.
>>
>>23657639
I actually think we should explain to her outright what is going on, and we can trust her not to talk if we ask her not to.
Maybe put in the note to Tsu telling her we leave Mylen under her orders and telling Mylen the same thing, Tsu's still going to need someone to help with her plans.
>>
>>23657661

I'll say o ntwitter if I do or don't, I may have something unexpected pop up.

>>23657639

She got used to fightning with the wings, getting rid of them will need an inevitable readaptation.

She had two week with said wings before you got to her.
>>
>>23657706
Yes, the problem with that is she simply doesn't have the time. If she has to readapt in the middle of a boss fight she'll get killed. We went to a great deal of trouble to save her, almost unleashing the Beast in doing so. I'd hate to lose her because of the Church's puritanical bullshit. I also want her to get airborne at some point. Flight is a tremendously awesome power in a setting without common access to it. I have a feeling we'll be needing it at some point to avoid someone's death, either hers, or ours.
>>
>>23655809
as a french man I am offensed by this, I post on 4chan... sometimes... when the stupid timezone allow it
>>
>>23657766
Wasn't trying to offend. Was just going on my own logic. Didn't say it was impossible, just unlikely to be the origin of the OP. Time Zones, as you said, are a bitch.
>>
>>23657766
Hey Frenchman.
Enjoying your military successes post Napoleon?
>>
>>23657758
I guess we should leave her back here then and hope things go well for her, is there anything else big we should be doing before leaving?
>>
>>23657943
Well, not that I can think of. We'll get some time "tomorrow" to get all of our plotting in place. Shit hits the fan in the afternoon by my reckoning, enough time for the scroll to get written and for us to ever so cruelly set Tsukiyoumi up for a backstab so hard her ancestors'd feel it (if she had any). So really, gotta play it cool. Have fun and swag it up like the girls are expecting. Hope he's a good actor if we end up alone with Tsu. If she thinks we're acting funny she'll nail us to the wall. Might have to use the D to ally her suspiscions. Hell, she might come to us for it. Even in these matters, a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do. The Fluffy, in this case.
>>
>>23658003
Do we really need to backstab her? Sure we can't let her know what we're doing but we can always just leave quietly and drop her a note on the way out giving her a "trust me on this one" .
Fuck fluffy tail is always a good move.
>>
>>23658034
>>23658003

You can expect to see active duty tomorrow afternoon in quest, yeah.
>>
>>23658034
Yes, "trust me" after wasting one of the faction leaders of this alliance for no apparent reason is going to work ever so well. I mean, why the hell didn't other double agents do the same thing? Oh right, it doesn't work.

In order to ingratiate yourself with an enemy power weary of double agents you have to sin so hard against one side that they can be pretty damn sure they won't take you back or even listen to you. What we're planning is just such a sin. It's why it will work, it is also why Tsu will not buy that letter. We are going to break her fluffy heart. I feel like total shit for doing it, but it apparently must be done.

We're going to burn in hell for the shit we're about to pull. Hope our sacrifice is worth it.
>>
>>23658176

Hell is full of petrol and smoking hot bitches, hope your happy.
>>
>>23658219
Smoking hot bitches that stab you all day in the unmentionables instead of making with the snoo-snoo.

Also the petrol is poured on you and lit. Since you're already dead you won't die or go into shock and thus get to feel the entire experience of "burning to death", only for your skin to regenerate after it's done burning so you can experience the horrible horrible pain all over again.

When I say burn in hell, I mean it quite literally.
>>
>>23657845
what military success?
>>23657777
it was sarcasm, I wasn't offended and honestly it's more possible than you'd think FEMcock's quest starts at about 6 pm in france it wouldn't be too hard for a french to make a quest
>>
>>23658176
We're fucking her, how many other double agents were fucking her? She trusts us completely at this point, if we go out and do something totally against character, she must know it is for good reason and I stress this part, if we don't leave a note or something to let her at least have a hint at what our motives are all we are going to do is massively distract her and drop the morale of their entire side, which is entirely avoidable.
If we leave a note saying that we need to do this and to trust us and our actions that'll be all she needs to not have the morale hit, even if it doesn't dissuade her curiosity and if it doesn't then she would have come after us anyway.
The last thing we want to do is distract the war effort to any significant level.
>>
And finally before I go to bed, I realized another parallel. We're fucking Allen Walker from D. Gray Man. Not really betraying everyone, but it sure looks like it from their end. They have a reason to believe that he has despite his nature and such He's the host for the 14th Noah, but otherwise it all fits. They're gonna hate our guts and fully believe we've gone full "Purge the Monstergirls" mode. This isn't going to end well...
>>
>>23658273
That's the joke Frenchie.
Give back Alsace please, we'll be nice.
>>
>>23658303
You'd be surprised how many spies shagged their way into a nice spot. I'm not against the letter, I just don't think it'll do much good for the reasons I stated.
>>
>>23658322
In reality? A lot probably, here? Not so much.
We've got strong links with them all too thanks to the recursions of time so we're in a position where they likely will believe us.
>>
>>23658339
Don't bet the farm on that, or we'll be buying it. If you catch my meaning.
>>
>>23658345
Well what do we have to lose from trying? We stand everything to gain.
>>
>>23658350
I didn't say don't try, I said don't bank everything on it working or we're going to get ourselves killed. Prudence sir, not blind faith, saves one's hide in war.
>>
>>23658368
True, but in all honesty I think Tsu is someone we can put blind faith in here and doing everything to prevent burned bridges and pissed off waifus before we bug out is the sanest idea if we want to return here someday.
