Welcome ladies and gentlemen to another edition of Succubus Quest! Last time we left off was the thrilling tale of how Brooklyn and company sneaked into Langy’s castle to rescue Erika! It was an intense battle (with nat 100’s all around), but we managed to get her and the rest of the group out of the castle safe and sound! ...Aside from the Illysian Cleric, Paladin, and the Royal Knight who was fated to die. They shall be missed.

After that, Brooklyn and company went back to his house to talk about some of the more... violent images of what magic can do to a mortal in battle. In order to help ease the mind of Brooklyn and Erika, a trip to the bathhouse was in order.

We now continue from where we left off!

[1/7, the next bit is mainly from last thread. Skip to the asterisked text for the new bits]

“Seeing Erika is fine, but we need to establish a few ground rules. I don’t mind you telling her you’re a Succubus. Hell, she called me out on being one when we were in the springs together ourselves. Even when I met her in the library as Brooklyn, she also seemed to be somewhat suspicious.” You say.

“Yes, Amanda is amazingly sharp when it comes to such things.” Erika says. “It is her gift in a way.”

“Gift or not. There are a few things I want established. First, do not tell her that I’m Sara. Secondly, tell her absolutely nothing about the shrine or the ritual which you were transformed in.” you say.

“...Are you implying Amanda cannot keep a secret?” Erika says.

“Against people like me or you? No.” Sebastien replies.

“Sebastien’s right Erika. It’s not that I don’t trust Erika. Rather that... Well you see what magic powers can physically do. If someone wanted to pry that information from her head, they’d have an easy time doing so, probably without her even knowing.” you explain. “This is just as much for her own protection as our own.”

Erika looks a bit worried. “Amanda... Isn’t going to like being kept in the dark about this sort of thing.”

“You don’t have much of a choice.” Sebastien says while finishing his cigarette. “If the girl is half as smart as you claim her to be, then it should be obvious to her why she’s not being told.”

“Indeed. She’s a smart girl. She won’t like it, but she’ll understand the reasons why.” you say transforming into Sara. “Now let’s head on over to the bath house!”

******
>>
[2/7]

Heading on over to the bath house is somewhat easy. Virtually no one can be seen in the streets aside from guards vigilantly patrolling them. It appears some neighbours and merchants have elected to hire a few more mercenaries to patrol the city as protection. They mostly leave you be, but you do get some stares of people seeing a Reaper travelling with you.

As you enter the bath house, you can see Amanda standing behind the counter, virtually the only soul in the building. Even she appears to be visibly nervous, pacing back and forth behind the counter. As soon as she sees you enter, her face lights up.

“Lady Sara! Oh thank my ancestors you’re alive!” Amanda says rushing over to you, nearly bowling you over as she tackles you with a hug.

“Yes... Yes we’re fine Amanda...” you say, calmly stroking her back.

“L-Lady Erika! Your plan!” Amanda says upon remembering it. “Did it!?”

“...Do you have a more... private place we can discuss this to?” you ask Amanda, then gesture to your group. “My friends and I would enjoy somewhere more... private where we can talk.”

“B-B-But of course! Please follow me!” Amanda says as she heads over the front door first, locking it up then heading on over to a door by the side of the public bath entrance.

She leads you down a hallway, a rather narrow one but very nicely decorated with plush red carpet and various paintings. Doors seem to line the hallways, making you wonder what is behind each of them. Amanda opens one of the doors, and greeting you in the face appears to be a large large VIP room. You can see a modestly sized hot tub pool in the center with two facets and buckets off to the side. A massage table can be seen nearby, and off in the corner in some buckets you can see what appears to be several bottles of wine on ice.
>>
[3/7]

“We won’t he heard in here.” Amanda says.

“Don’t mind if I do.” Brodin says heading towards the bottles of wine almost immediately.

“Hey, save some for me.” Sebastien comments as he loosen his clothing a bit before heading over.

Amanda simply looks at you as Brodin and Sebastien head over to the wine.

“...Friends of mine.” you say.

“Fine.” Amanda says shaking her head, heading over to the door and locking it. “Those explosions! At first I thought it was an attack, but I realized what would be happening to Erika today! What happened to Erika!?”

“I’m fine Amanda, relax.” Erika says.

Amanda simply looks at Erika in a rather puzzled expression.

“...Oh right.” Erika says as she shapeshifts back to her normal self.

This time Amanda’s expression seems to literally go through the floor itself, staring at Erika’s transformation. “E-Erika! H-Have you...!?”

Erika takes a deep breath before giving a gentle smile. “In order to properly save my life, Lady Sara was forced to turn me into a Succubus.”

“Caste!?” Amanda blurts out, seemingly unable to form full sentences anymore.

Amanda points an outstretched hand towards a stool in the corner. It floats up, being a bit wobbly, but it does manage to float above the ground. “Ayarian. N-Now I understand how you must feel Amanda...”

Amanda then goes over to you, grabbing you by the shoulders and forcing you to stare into her eyes, which also look desperate. “Lady Sara! I had my doubts at first, but after seeing this they’ve all be stripped away! Please! I beg of you! Turn me into a Succubus as well! I’d do anything you’d ask!”
>>
[4/7]

*****Voting break here, continuing using last thread’s votes*****

You turn on your aura sight, seeing that Amanda’s aura is a mix of Orange (Fear), Dark Green (Envy), and Bright Green (Obsession).

“...Amanda. What are you afraid of? Are you afraid of me abandoning you? Let me say this right now. I will not be abandoning you. I won’t be abandoning any of you.” you say as you run your hand over her arm.

“N-No... I-It’s not that. Just that... Ever since the knowledge of fate and destiny... Knowing that your whole life is predetermined... It simply makes me sick to my stomach.” Amanda replies, her aura turning into a Bright Green (Obsession) and Grey (Depressed) aura. “Lately I’ve... haven’t had the motivation to do nearly anything as of late. Everything in my life is predetermined on a set path. Yes, I always expected to be married off to some other merchant. Indeed one doesn’t live the life of a noble woman without expecting such, but... This is just a whole different order...”

You’re actually kind of surprised she’s treating this so seriously. Then again, considering she was the kind of person who liked to take matters into her own hands, such a thing could be a startling realization. Also she’s a teenager.

“You’re misinterpreting fate and destiny.” Brodin replies to Amanda. Looking over, you can now see that Brodin has discarded his robe and is now in the hot tub himself. He looks very thin, perhaps to a nearly unhealthy level and his sink is nearly as white as the snow.

“But even a Reaper himself told us that such things as our time of death is etched in fate.” Amanda replies.
>>
[5/7]

“That’s a major event. Fate mainly records major events that happens in one’s life, and only really gets annoyed when one starts to dodge those major events. If I told you that you’d have porridge tomorrow according to fate, and then upon knowing that knowledge you decide to have eggs instead, then fate won’t care. Such a minor thing is considered individual bits of dust to fate, hardly beneath its notice.” Brodin replies using this thumb to open the wine bottle.

“Then what on earth constitutes as a major event?” Amanda asks.

“Occasionally you get things such as the man fated to be the hero of his town, another fate could be killing a certain person, doing a certain thing. Such things are usually grand in scale. Even if you did something like brooding for the last few days doing nothing when fate expected you to be doing something else, it won’t care.” Brodin says taking a swing of the wine, before wiping his mouth and pointing at Amanda. “However I am not privy to such information. The only thing I know for certain is your time of death, and seeing as you won’t die for another 68 years from now, you’re certainly fated to live that long.”

“But if one spends aether on me, then won’t be lifespan be altered as well!? I had a chance to read what using aether on someone alters their timeline.” Amanda replies.

“And how many supernaturals exist up here?” Sebastien asks her dryly.

“Amanda please... Lady Sara was telling the truth about the ritual and preparing us. If I had the luxury of doing things later, I would’ve gladly taken it. At the moment, I cannot literally think of a worse possible situation to be in.” Erika says.

“You’re not on fire. See! One bad thing that isn’t happening to you right now, right off the top of my head!” Mina says to Erika.
>>
[6/7]

“Erika is right Amanda. I will admit that Erika was and still is grossly ill prepared for the situations and problems she’s facing. I wanted to give you all an in-depth discussion of the various succubi clans in more detail, but for Erika I could only give her a crash course on not only the clans, but even about what being an Ayarian entails.” you tell her.

“I wouldn’t also knock off being a human completely kid. There are a few things humans are able to do that demons cannot.” Sebastien says.

“Such as!? I’m fairly certain Lady Sara could do everything I could aspire to do and more!” Amanda replies, her aura turning into a red one (anger).

“The situation involving the cleric when rescuing Erika comes to mind.” Sebastien says.

“Explain.” Amanda demands while crossing her arms.

Erika rolls up her sleeve to show Amanda, showing that her flesh looks fairly sunburnt. “We were fighting some of the demonic bodyguards left by Lord Blizzarios, with a Paladin and Cleric from the Church of Illysia Lady Sara tricked into helping her. The problem was that during the fight, the Cleric cast a spell that made a magic circle. It healed all humans inside, but us demons...”

“...Oh... Oh Erika are you hurt elsewhere!?” Amanda asks, her aura turning into Orange (shock/fear).

“It... stings a little, but I’ll be fine.” Amanda says as she begins to gently pull off her own clothes to get into the tub. “It’s also for security concerns. We know that you’d never willingly tell Amanda, but i-”

“Yes I know... If someone like Blizzarios wanted to know, there is no way I’d be able to throw him off.” Amanda sighs.
>>
[7/7]

“...To be fair, Blizzarios was especially trained in rooting out demons in hiding. In all honesty if I had to meet him face to face, I’d sincerely doubt I’d be able to hide from him either.” you reply. It’s the truth. If you didn’t have gloves on that day while giving a tour around the city, you’d probably be in a pile of ashes at the city center by now. If it wasn’t for his ambition, he’d also have Ada in the bag as well.

“Regardless! All it takes a simple suggestion for things such as Pride Demons or Succubi such as yourself! I know the reason you’re not telling me! It makes perfect sense, and to be frank that’s all the reason its pissing me off even more!” Amanda says bringing her fingers to her eyes, her aura being red (anger), Depressed (Grey), Black (Hate), and Dark Green (Envy). “I hate feeling left out of things! Even more I hate the fact that I wasn’t able to do anything to assist in saving one of my best friends!”

The sheer amount of sharply contrasting flavours on your tongue is... interesting to say the least. The main thing you know Amanda can still do that you can’t is to talk to Leona in her room, as just being that place makes you sick. But you wonder if you should tell her this while you think of your next words...

*“It... stings a little, but I’ll be fine.” Erika says as she begins to gently pull off her own clothes to get into the tub. “It’s also for security concerns. We know that you’d never willingly tell Amanda, but i-”

Hooray for grammer.
>>
>>23669557
Why didn't we go with telling her that we can transform her, but we need to gather more energy first.
>>
>>23669557
Tell her that our living space right now is limited and that even if she couldn't take part in the rescue operation, she can probably provide Erika better accommodations than us or the old man.
>>
>>23669557
There are still things I can teach you while preparing you for this. Would you prefer to learn to summon Imps or create a fate charm?
>>
>>23669557
>>23669701
oh yea this. ask her if she can house Erika.
Make certain that Erika should change her identity as well.
>>
>>23669557
"Amanda, I wish there was something I could say to just make you feel better, but there isn't.

I will be giving you the opportunity to turn into one of us, but it will take time, and I will be able to adequately prepare you.

There are however two things you can do to help right now as you are. First, I need some real estate that no one will look twice at that I can house, does your family have any undeveloped and unused buildings lying around? Second, I don't get a chance to talk to Leona often, and her room is to put it in simple terms anathema to me. I would appreciate it if you could talk to her, comfort her, and if you see good opportunities sway her opinion on demons to be less fervently against them."

>>23669730
>>23669701
We should probably house Erika with Seabass, he's going to be tutoring her. But we do need some living space for our minions.

In my mind Brooklyn looks like Astaroth.
>>
>>23669557
Gently hug Amanda and tell her that we'll start gathering the energy and resources necessary for her transformation. It will likely take a little longer this time since we had to exhaust much of the material we had on had to convert Erika on such short notice, but that will give us the time to teach her extensively about the succubi clans and dangers of becoming a demon. For now, the day is won and it's time to enjoy the victory and relax. Assuming she does have to go back to manning the front counter, take Amanda to the hot tub and sit her in our lap.
>>
>>23669789
Agree with housing Erika and Seabass (assuming he's ok with it) together, but we should probably wait for the morning to deal with that unless Amanda can house the at the bath house for the night.
>>
This part is a bit longer than I thought, but nearly done!
>>
>>23670069
Well yeah, we can put her up in our place and cuddle her tonight or something like that, but for semi-permanent lodging we ask Seabass if he could take his pupil in.
>>
[1/4]

“See that’s good part about this now Amanda, you can actually be a vital asset to how things will play out, doing things in which I cannot do.” you tell her.

Amanda simply looks at you with a puzzled expression.

“First off, Erika is now going to need a place to stay when she is in town. With Lord Langy looking for her and Fort Hope having a... fairly closed area of registration, Erika can easily stay with you as a maid or something along those lines.” you say.

“Hm... Yes. No one would suspect the Richardson family of harbouring a fugitive.” Amanda says.

“Secondly you’re going to need to talk to Leona and see how she is doing. I would go, but the problem is that her room is, to be frank, quite anathema to me. I cannot stand being inside of it.” you reply.

“...Yea... When I went into Leona’s room while I was still in the castle, it made me feel quite nauseous and lightheaded.” Erika replies.

“Is that so...” Amanda says, her aura turning into a Bright Green (Obsession/Intrigued) colour. “...I think I’ll see what I can about that then.”

(“She’s curious about what made Succubi so ill in Leona’s room, and wants to scout such a thing.”) Sebastien adds.

“Oh yes! Another thing I wanted to mention! Sebastien here will be training you Erika.” you tell her.

“...That old man?” Amanda asks looking at Sebastien.
>>
[2/4]

“I wouldn’t go counting myself out just yet girl, I’ve still got a few tricks up my sleeve.” Sebastien says taking a gulp of wine while he’s in the hottub as well. Looking at him, you notice that for an old man he’s fairly ripped. By far the best shape you’ve ever seen a senior citizen in.

“He’s an adventurer who specializes in Psionics.” you tell Amanda.

“A human... who can use aether?” Amanda asks, hardly believing what you’re telling her.

“Yea. My abilities are a bit above and beyond your friend’s at the moment. The first thing I need to teach her is how to use her abilities without them being dangerous to herself or others.” Sebastien says. “She has the abilities of Telekinesis and Precognition. The former takes practice as one always needs to keep a clear mind, unless you don’t mind crushing whatever you’re lifting. Precognition’s dangers come from taking everything it tells you word for word.”

“Hm...” Erika says sounding a bit nervous. “If you don’t mind me inquiring, when shall the training start Sir Sebastien?”

“Tomorrow, assuming you’re up for it.” Sebastien replies.

“Should she train in Blizzarios’s armour?” you ask.

“That depends. Personally I was going to see if I could cobble together some sort of patchwork armour for her back in my place, in order to maximize the effectiveness of my training. That armour is good, but fairly bulky. It is not suited for things such as sneaking around or moving quickly. The Ranger suit doesn’t have that problem.” Sebastien says.

“So my protection won’t be as good?” Erika asks.
>>
[3/3]

“Well I could teach you the Psionic shield. That combined with the armour would make for a large amount of protection, but your mobility will be somewhat hampered. I can teach you how to read the flow of battle well enough so that you should be able to dodge most incoming threats. Your protection will take a hit, but you’ll be far more mobile.”

“You did not get where you are today by being a fool Sir Sebastien. I shall trust your judgement and accept your lessons as they are for the time being.” Erika says.

“Good. Now rest up. This night is going to be one of the only peaceful nights you’ll be having in a long time.” Sebastien warns her.

You look over to Erika, seeing that her aura is turning into an orange (fear) colour.

“By the way Amanda, does your family have something such as empty estates in this town? I think I’ll be turning in a favour to ask you if you can give some... friends of mine a proper home in Fort Hope.” you tell her.

“We do have a few such places yes. Assuming they don’t mind the accommodations then they’ll be safe from prying eyes as well.” Amanda says. “However I will be unable to do something like prove they are citizens of Fort Hope.”

“Oh! We can get Leona to do that! As a High Noble in Langy’s family, she’s legally allowed to issue such commands!” Erika replies.
>>
>>23670324
Problem is that Langy knows you are the one she is closest too, and he'll probably look into anyone who gets that sort of permission.
>>
>>23670324
Darn it, did we really just blurt out about us having Blizzarios’ armour in front of Amanda? Sloppy.
>>
>>23670324
Maybe later.

(In a week or so, if Ada can't arrange things for us by then.)

I think we should offer to teach Amanda imp summoning later.
>>
>>23670413
seconded.
>>
>>23670413
sure.
>>
>>23670324
"We should hold off of the citizenship thing for now, we want to let everything calm down before we make waves like that.

Erika, don't worry, I'm sure Sebastien knows what he's doing and he'll push you hard, but it's for your own good. If you'd like to stay the night with me feel free, you've had a trying day.

Amanda, if you're interested I have some rituals I could teach you."
>>
>>23670315
Whelp, Amanda is going to pick up on Blizzario's death.

>23670324
We might want to hold off on contacting Leona too soon or too frequently. Given how close she is to Erika I would be surprised if Langy wasn't having her shadowed.

Maybe we could just make a Suggestion to the right person? Claim Erika as a visiting relative or something? Wait, is there anyway the twins could legitimately bring her back in to Fort hope when their caravan gets here in a week (or what have you)?
>>
>>23670413

adding my vote to this, though Ada did say that she should be in a position to off Langly and take over next week, though I don't know what effect tonights escapades had on that time frame...
>>
Um, does anyone remember what Miyu (the Science Succubus Queen) likes to eat with regard to souls? I think that's what Amanda expressed interest in before.
>>
[1/2]

“That will need to wait for a later date. After this event, Langy is going to have Leona more closely trailed.” you reply.

“...Yes. It was no secret that we were close friends. I used my powers to check on her future, and I have determined that she’ll be fine for the time being.” Erika says.

“Of course. Langy wouldn’t dream of harming anyone who was a direct descendant of him unless the situation was truly dire.” Amanda says. “The situation tonight was jarring, but we’d still have a ways to go before Langy did something like that.”

“I deeply apologize for this turn of events Amanda. As I said before, preparing the transformation ritual takes a lot of time and resources. If you want, I can teach you something in order to make up for setback. Perhaps how to summon Imps or how to craft good luck or jynx charms.” you offer.

Amanda takes a deep breath, her aura still being a grey (depressed) colour. “No, no I understand perfectly Lady Sara. I am letting my emotions get the better of me. I truly do not enjoy the situation or realizations I’ve come to learn myself over the past few days, but for the time being there is nothing I can do but learn to endure it, perhaps make the most of my situation. As for the ritual... Gladly later but not right now. My wits are scattered about and I am hardly in the mood for learning something as complex as that, assuming the books I read were correct about rituals.”
>>
[2/2]

“Very well, but know that my offer still stands.” you tell her.

“I’ll keep it mind. But for the time being I’d... just like to have some talk to Erika about her recent changes. ...Oh yes, also talk to you about the others who may wish to join our little group.” Amanda says.

“Oh?” you ask.

“Two others spring to mind, whose loyalty I am fairly confident in. One is some other minor merchant’s son who thinks he has a shot at me, and I’d think he’d gladly join if it meant that if he had a shot at me.” Amanda says. “The second is a cleaner who helps clean the baths every night. He is a bit... queer. Fairly quiet, but I think his loyalty would be easily won over.”
>>
>>23670848
"Interesting. They could both be useful, what exactly do you mean by 'queer'?"
>>
>>23670848
"Can you tell me more about the cleaner?"
>>
>>23670708
I don't think it's been mentioned. Janine goes for Nobility, Lamia goes for abusive parents and those who mistreat children as well as Envy Demons, Janette goes for slavers, people who break Succubi, and Pride Demons, Purple goes for cowards and traitors, Oksana goes for Greed Demons. The Gemelli Queens don't have a preference, and he never mentioned Miyu's as far as I can tell.
>>
>>23670848
>"if it meant he had a shot at me."
I don't like the idea of bringing anyone in on this premise as it might backfire if he learns that he doesn't have a chance with Amanda and decides to report the group to the authorities, or he tries to blackmail Amanda over her involvement with us (the consorting with witches angle). If he's truly interested in the occult and dissatisfied with the pride demon paradigm of power then it might be worth the risk, but if his primary motivation is lust I think we should pass.
>>
>>23670848
"Interesting. They could be useful. Probably won't turn them into demons though. It's a massive hassle. Plus, Incubi don't actually exist.
>>
>>23671002
Agree.

>>23670995
I'll bet it's the Amish.
>>
>>23670848
Does he think people join dark magic cults led by Demon Lords to pick up DATES?!

>>
>>23671181
that depends on who you ask
>>
>>23671028
We still get to turn our friends into demons right?
>>
“I’d advise against bringing anyone in under the pretense of lust with you Amanda dear. If the man would to ever discover he’d never have a shot at you, what’s to stop him from reporting to the authorities?” you ask.

“A mutually assured destruction. While his feelings for me may change, I still would be able to predict when he’d do something such as reporting us, I am THAT confident in my skills at least. Before that happens, I simply begin a process to buy out his company. We were already considering to do so in our family anyways. Now worse case, if we get fingers and even if I get thrown in jail, my family will see him for what he and his family has done, and then give everyone an... indefinite leave.” Amanda says. “Once he’s on, he’ll be in for the long term, with a vow of silence no less.”

“...Damn Amanda that’s cold.” Erika replies.

“You don’t get where my family is today by playing nice Erika.” Amanda replies.

“And the cleaner?” you ask.

“Ah yes, I was vague on him. He often cleans for us. I will say that his taste in clothing and hobbies outside of his workplace are... questionable, but he keeps his work and private lives separate, which is enough. I overheard him talking to some friends of his about how he was curious of what Langy really did for his rituals and how he wished to be a part of the crowd as well. He may seem questionable, but I am confident in that he won’t tell the authorities about us, simply because I think he detests Langy that much.” Amanda says.
>>
>>23671305
Very well
>>
>>23671305
"Good. Bring them in to a meeting with me some time, I'll give them a taste of what they can learn, and we'll play it from there."

I can't think of anything else really important to take care of right now. So finish our bath while giving Amanda a run down on Succubi types and weaknesses, if Erika wants to stay with us for the night let her, and head home.
>>
>>23671305
I don't think we need to add more people right now. We have our hands full right now and we plan to go to T.O. later on.
>>
>>23671305
>he wished to be a part of the crowd as well
The sacrificing innocent people's lives for more power crowd? We certainly don't want to enable him to join that.

And it seems to me like Brooklyn wants students who are eager to learn, not somebody who's only here because of lust and blackmail.
>>
Am I the only one that was to just wait on these two? We already have twins (whenever they come back) to work on. Amanda and Leona also still 'teaching' and such. Do we really want to expand this even further?
>>
>>23671436
I figure we turn Amanda into a succubus, and into our subordinate, and have her run the cult for us while we are gone.

True, especially since people keep forgetting about the twins (who we still have to lure away from their father...). I assume most of the extras will end up working for Ada rather than us directly.
>>
>>23671468
Well she can run and acquire cult once we are done here.
>>
>>23671476
Yeah right as I posted that those post showed. Ha. Go me, woo.
>>
>>23671479
I don't intend to teach them directly, but I don't favor handing Ada more power than we already are planning to.
>>
>>23671521
Where as I, when presented with a multiverse to play in or conquer, am pretty much fine with leaving earth to Ada.
>>
So explain to her that while they seem to be interesting, they'll have to wait. We still have to deal with Leona, eventually gathering the materials to turn you into a succubus (which is a giant pain in the ass), keep Erica safe, and keep up our own training and deal with all the stuff we have to do.
>>
>>23671599
We have to conquer the earth before we can grab the multiverse. I have no problem with giving Ada more power than she thought possible, but she needs to be on-board with the whole plan first.
>>
>>23671612
Do this.
>>
>>23671654
Ok, that I can get behind, I just think that we probably are going to leave her at fort hope sometime in the next couple of months (quest for th Okarina library and whatnot) and by that point Ada should have some loyal, powerful, minions of her own.
>>
>>23671716
Fine by me. I just don't want to give her powerful minions until she herself is our minion. Or whatever you call "friend who is totally fine with helping you conquer the planet in return for, say, Australia."
>>
>>23671612
The only problem with this is that we are throwing away her hards work. We appreciate her efforts and should at least scout the two in person while we're too busy with all our other projects to take them on as students. Also, find out how much we owe her for the wine.
>>
>>23671848
>throwing away her hards work.
Not really, she can just use them later on her own.
>>
>>23671848
>find out how much we owe her for the wine
More than we can afford.
>>
>>23671848

If she wants to work with them on her own that's fine. We just don't have the room or the desire to deal with them ourselves. After all, these guys sound like just random nubs and I don't see the point of turning every random nub we run into into a succubus.

“Very well. We’ll see what we can do with them. But for the time being I already have my hands fairly full, so let’s not bring them into the fray just yet persay.” you tell Amanda.

“As you wish milady.” Amanda replies.

“Come on in the water Brooklyn! The water’s fine!” Mina says splashing some water on your dress.

“Oh fine...” you sigh as you take off your dress, and is only now you once again notice the stab wound on your shoulder. “Oh darn it!”

“My goodness Lady Sara! Such a wound! We’re going to have to bring you to the doctors!” Amanda says.

“Na! That’s nutin!” Mina says. “Just wrap a bandage around it! Demons heal faster than humans, so we that wound isn’t bad enough to need something like stitches!”

“...If you insist, but I’m going to ask Lady Sara if she could at last bandage it.” Amanda says.

“You read my mind Amanda.” you reply. “Do you have anything I could wrap it with perchance?”

“Yes, all of the suites are stocked with a medical kit.” Amanda says as she heads over to a cupboard, pulling out a medical bag and taking out a large roll of bandage wrap. Not as good as old world gaze, but good enough really.

“Thanks Amanda.” you say holding out your shoulder.

“Not a problem Lady Sara. Just please be still when I apply it.” Amanda says as she begins to put the wrap around your wound.
>>
[2/3]

You wince slightly as she begins to wrap it, your sunburnt flesh rather sensitive to the touch.

“Baby.” Sebastien replies.

You only give a deep sigh as you hear him say that. Of COURSE the hardcore military vet who’s seen nearly everything would find such display pitiful.

“So... Erika. If you don’t mind me asking, how do you find being a Succubus so far?” Amanda asks her.

“It’s very... Jarring in a way. I can get hungry, but normal food and water does nothing to me. Rather nearly every time I walk by someone, I can literally taste their emotions. It is a bit hard to find a place where I’m not being constantly bombarded with some sort of flavour.” Erika says.

“Oh you get used to that! In fact whenever I can’t taste something I often get on edge myself!” Mina replies.

“...And I suppose you’re the Belkarian that was summoned?” Amanda asks looking at Mina.

“...How’d you tell!? I was disguised and everything.” Mina replies.

“You’re perhaps the only person in this town with dark skin! You didn’t even change your voice at all! I mean shouldn't Succubi excel in shape shifting after all?” Amanda asks.
>>
[3/3]

Mina simply smirks as she quickly shifts herself into Leona’s shape. “Better than you can know!” Mina says in Amanda’s voice while flicking her hair.

“It took a bit a practice, but now I’m fairly used to it as well.” Erika says, shapeshifting into Mina’s form.

“And... The texture feels the same and everything?” Amanda asks, walking over to Erika to feel her arms and shoulders once she’s finished bandaging you up.

“You can change texture and such, but innate qualities do not change. Making yourself appear to have muscles will not make you any stronger for example.” you clarify before wondering what to explain or do next.

(If you want to skip to leaving the baths, that's fine too. Erika will most likely prefer to stay overnight at Amanda's)

Also note that these are not the only attacks Brooklyn or anyone else with elemental control has, the following below merely being guidelines for what magic in a Control can do. I encourage for people to make shit up.

You spend the rest of your time just mainly lazing about and relaxing in the tub after a long night’s work, blessed by the rather relaxing atmosphere of good company. A nice glass of wine helps too, taking your mind off the stressful events that transpired tonight.

Amanda offered to have Erika over, and you decided it was best that she spends a bit of time with her friend, especially since she’ll be going off on training again soon.

Sebastien and Brodin both head over to the bar together, probably both of them getting shitfaced in of themselves.

“Ooohhh man... I’m beat...” you say entering in the door.

“No kidding! It was a very hectic day!” Mina says.

“Knowing my luck they’ll probably cancel Brodin’s lessons tomorrow. Good in that I like time off, bad as in I don’t get paid...” Brooklyn mumbles.

“Oh well it can’t be that bad! I’m sure something will come out of it!” Mina says.

“Hm... Yea... Maybe you’re right...” you say to Mina.

Maybe... Just maybe... That fight at the castle was enough to push your aether to the next level?
>>
(BROOKLYN GETS A CHANCE TO INCREASE! CHOOSE WHICH MAGIC TO PICK!
A) Aether sight increased to Good Rank! Gets one of the following extras!
- Long Duration Sight: Can leave Aether sight up for truly extended durations without any noticeable hit on your aether pool.
- Spectral Sight: Same as Sebastein’s.
- Aetheric Trailing: By pulling more aether into your aura sight, you can literally identify the trails of aether people leave behind.
- Spirit Sight: Allows Brooklyn to see dematerialized spirits with his aether sight, including those who may be riding in an object.

B) Annihilator Beam increased to Good! Get one the following extras!

- Starfall: A technique where you make dozens of Annihilator shots appear above some location, before sending them straight down to bombard an area. These shots go straight, do not home in, and detonate after a short time. (Aether use: Large)
- Charge Shot: A charged version of the Annihilator that is just plain better in every way. Moves fasters, hits harder, bigger explosion. However the Aether consumption is increased. You still have your normal shot, but you also have this one. (Aether use: Medium)
- Explosion Radius +: Increased Explosion range for shots!
- Speed + Homing Plus: Shots travel faster and have better homing capability.
- MeiOh: Taking an idea Brooklyn got from one of his comics, he charges his fists with light in one hand, dark in the other, then smashes them together. The result is fairly powerful explosion with him in the middle. Brooklyn is immune to the explosions, as are his belongings, but nothing else (so be careful with allies). In addition, Brooklyn becomes immune to the explosions of his own Annihilator shots. This technique covers less area than Starfall, but contains much more power, second only to Buster Spark and White Hole Smasher. (Aether cost: Large)

Being able to just leave it on would be useful.

I should also clarify this isn't one from each, but rather which one you want from the two. Pick which one you want to level up, then pick the extra. If you pick B, you cannot pick A for example, and visa versa.

Annihilator Beam : MeiOh then. We're not always going to be able to pick our battles.

“Yea... I think I’ve gotten more used to the Annihilator shot...” you say making darkness in one hand and light in the other.

“...No more exploding hamsters I hope!” Mina says.

“I thought you were over that! But no, no more exploding hamsters in that regard.” you say as you let the magic evaporate. “Got anything on the agenda tomorrow?”

“Oh! If possible we should see going over to Sebastien’s place! We’ll need to say hello to the adventurers!” Mina says.

“Noted.” you say as you begin to strip off your clothes. “Anyways, its been a rather long day. I think I’m just going to go to sleep for the time being.”

“Yea... I’m fairly beat myself... Night Brooklyn!” Mina says jumping into your bed.

You follow in shortly after, both of you falling asleep in a fairly rapid order.

******

The next morning, you’re awoken by what can be heard as loud knocks on your door.

“Ugh... For gods sake I have five days left for the rent!” you yell in a grumpy tone from your bed.

There is no voice, but instead the knocks just get louder.

“Ugh... The pounding... Make it stop...” Brodin complains while on the floor.

You take a deep breath as you get up out of bed, throwing off the sheets and climbing over Brodin and stomping towards the door before swinging it open. “What!?”
>>
[2/3]

Looking at you as you open the door, you can see Sebastien in his Lord clothes, Mina, Ada, and another you’ve never seen which you assume to be Erika.

“...Nice to see you too Brooklyn.” Ada says looking up at you. “Classy as always I see.”

You look down at yourself, only to notice that you’re still in your bra and panties. “Yea well I was hoping to sleep in... What is it?”

“Well first off, you were right about your job!” Mina says handing a letter to you.

You take the letter, noticing that it had the official Langy seal on it, but it is now broken. Reading the letter, it says in flowerly language that Brothen will be busy for most of the day and you will not need to teach him this day.

“Knew that already.” you say crumpling up the letter and throwing it into your wastebasket. “Come on in.”

“Fine, but we only have a few minutes at most.” Sebastien says.

“Why? People following you?” you ask him.

“No, I just want out of this damn place.” Sebastien replies.

“We also have a bit of a problem as well Brooklyn.” Ada says coming into the house.

“Do we have the solution to that problem?” you ask.

“I doubt it.” Sebastien replies.

“It’s about the adventurers yesterday Brooklyn.” Mina says.

“Oh yea! How’d that turn out after all?” you ask.
>>
[3/3]

“Two Demon Bodyguards and the Paladin survived.” Ada replies.

“What!?” you ask in surprise.

“My reaction as well!” Mina replies.

“It gets better. Apparently when Langy contacted Articus, he seemed intrigued. So much so that he ordered the two remaining Blizzarios bodyguards to ‘escort’ the Paladin back to his place.” Ada says. “They’re going to be leaving tomorrow once they’re properly rested up.”

...This is interesting. On one hand this is akin to throwing a guppy fish into the jaws of a great white shark. But you can’t decide if this a good thing or not...

And the twins... Leona & the twins need some work before we broach the topic of conversion with them...
The way I see it is that we get the queens aether for the sake of aether, then more to convert Amanda, then enough to convert the twins (together to ensure the Gemelli Partner Link is formed with each other with little to no waiting period), Then by the time we have gotten enough aether to preform the fifth conversion, we should have been able to open Leona to the idea of joining us.

On the topic of our List of Potential Conversions, Is everyone happy with the list thus far;
Amanda : Miyian
Twins : Gemelli
Leona : Aide

assuming that Ada is going to remain in Fort Hope (due to being in-charge of it) we will need to either find or convert a new Laminian for our group, preferably before our journey to TO, if only so that our group can gather information from each of their respective clans, thusly allowing for a greater situational awareness, as i doubt that the Okarians are the only clan keeping secrets...

We have the energy for the twins. That's what Blizzy was for. I think we should not feed these guys to the queens. The original plan was to have them kill each other, to fool scrying spells and stuff. Articus himself is expecting these three to arrive, they WILL be searched for, and we do NOT want that trail going straight back to the shrine.
>>
>>23673879
Ohhhh. Good point.

>>23673879

on that subject, Would a scrying spell be able to tell if we were nearby draining the risidual aether from their corpses, or would it just be able to tell tell what killed them and where? as we could always free the paladin with a darkness tentacle and 'buff' him into mutual distruction with the guards...

“...My fear is that they’re setting this up to be a trap.” you immediately reply.

“That’s my main concern as well.” Ada replies.

“Oh! I can try to check and see if it is!” Erika says.

“Just find out their route. I’ll set a little surprise for our friends and that will be the end of that.” Sebastien replies.

“We don’t even know who their company will be...” you say sitting down on the sit of the bed.

“Most likely they’re going to hire mercenaries as a protection screen. Once they get far enough north, the mercenaries will need to turn back. But it hardly matters at that point.” Erika says.

She has a point. The far north is Articus’s domain. Any man going up there is usually frozen to death fairly quickly. The only life that exists up there are supernatural creatures who can resist the insanely cold temperatures.

“...Oh! Actually they won’t be leaving tomorrow!” Erika replies. “...Or for a few days I think.”

“...Why’s that?” you ask her.

“I just checked the weather for the weekend! It’s going to be a blizzard all weekend!” Erika replies.
>>
[2/2]

“Hm... That’s good for us. Blizzarios’s bodyguards are trained, but I doubt they can travel in white out conditions while escorting a prisoner.” Sebastien replies.

“Thank god for some good news.” you reply.

“Hm... I have an idea or two myself...” Ada says.

“And what has your devish little mind come up with today?” you ask Ada.

“Two ideas immediately come to mind.” Ada replies. “First is that I can just sneak in use a C-Toxin needle to finish off the Paladin cleanly. It’d leave evidence behind, but the Paladin will be dead. The other option is more risky, but involves ‘breaking’ the Paladin out. Give him a shield and weapon and hope he dies while fighting the bodyguards.”

“The last option I can think of is using C4 or Landmines once we get their route and blow them sky high.” Sebastien says getting out a cigarette and lighting it.
>>
Oh yes, note this isn't meant to be "These are the only choices". Rather these are NPC suggestions. Take or leave them as you will.
>>
>>23674024why not trail them when they set off and have sebass put a suggestion into the pallys mind to break free and fight, then break his restraints from a distance, add in some psychic attacks from erika to get them all confused and weakened and they should kill each other, if not we can finish them cleanly and set up the scene

We could covertly break the paladin out of jail and arrange the body guards to kill him. Could make it look like the paladin committed suicide vi a poison capsule or a brick of C4.

really anything that would foil a fate ritual as obviously Arcturus will using a fate ritual as he is personal intrigued. Would be funny to make it look like Celestia is up to something. (deflect suspicion from us)

we seriously need to make a ritual to intercept and alter magical communication at some point.
>>
[1/2]

“No, we need as little evidence of their deaths as possible. We’ll combine Ada’s second idea with Sebastien’s. We rig it so we free the Paladin, store a weapon and shield for him at a certain location for him to find. We’ll have Ada do something like cut his bonds, and he’ll once again do battle with the bodyguards.” you say.

“He won’t last long against an army.” Sebastien says.

“That’s the point. We just need to make sure that he’s killed in the process. The demon bodyguards are fine being let go. But we need that Paladin to die no matter the cause.” you say. “We can have you and Erika do some nudging with your psychic abilities to make sure the attacks that will land against the Paladin will be lethal.”

“Fairly difficult thing to do for a rookie. It’s going to require some heavy duty training for Erika.” Sebastien says.

“I am prepared for it!” Erika says. “Anything involving Articus more with Fort Hope is a bad thing, so I’m with you on taking down the Paladin!”

“...Weren’t you hesitating on leaving him behind the other day?” Mina asks.

Erika shakes her head. “That was then. I did some thinking at Amanda’s place. If Articus even gets a whiff of what happened, then not only the Queen’s will be in trouble, but as will everyone we have a close friend to Fort Hope. They won’t be sending Blizzarios, but a blown Deamon Hunt.”

Shit... Deamon Hunt’s are a group of elite soldiers the Pride Demon’s use to track and hunt down problematic demons. The heroic tales of their exploits can be seen everywhere, and quite frankly the mere mention of one of them against you makes your blood freeze.
>>

If he thought Celestia was up to something in this town it would be swarming with pride demons before you could say "oh shit".

“Hence my suggestion of high explosive weaponry.” Sebastien says.

“And he won’t question why probably one of the only people, if not the only person, with access to old world technology around here, blew up one of his former allies? We’d be playing a hand showing that we’re all the more desperate to cover it up.” Ada says.

“Right, which is why we’re going to do our best to make sure he dies while appearing as if he tried.” you add.

“There’s also the issue of keeping the adventurers preoccupied while the Paladin is being escorted out of town.” Sebastian says.

“Oh! I’ll do that!” Mina volunteers eagerly.

“Sounds as if we’ve got a plan then. Is there anything else we need to discuss, or shall we get going back to my hideout? I’m somewhat curious about the adventurers concern about town priest needing people.” Sebastien says.

“...This means I have to get up, don’t I?” Brodin muffled voice can be heard talking into the carpet.

“If it involves lost souls, ‘fraid so.” Sebastien replies.

Brodin only groans in displeasure while still remaining on the floor.

We don't need Erika to ensure that any blows against the Paladin are lethal, just attach a couple of jinx charms to the shield or something.
It'll make it so that his failures become critical failures, meaning that the first few times he misses or gets hit, they will be devastating, and probably kill him on their own without it being obvious that there was outside meddling.

I've wanted to use Jinx charms for secret murder forever. They're pretty much the most innocuous way to kill someone.

Heh, brodin reminds me of me when I'm dead tired in the morning.

Just a quick question about emotions and the like. Do stronger emotions give us a better meal?
>>
>>23677046
It's not the strength of the emotions, but the volume. The emotions of one person is like eating individual berries one at a time. Strong emotions are bigger berries, but still one at a time.

Emotions from a group, however, are like eating a berry pie.
>>
>>23677046
i think its more on quantity than quality.
the more emotions some one is feeling(and more people doing it), the more energy you get
>>
so I've been thinking about brooklyn's armour(ex blizzario's armour) and have come to the conclusion we need to remove identifying marks (e.g. Blizzario's familiy crest) and either learn some water control(we'll need that anyways of the immunity to cold) or try and find a way to modify it so that it boosts light or dark control.
>>
>>23678587
Identifying marks aren't visible but more an aethric mark.

and I'm all for the water control, It never hurts to have basic in all controls.
>>
>>23678713
i'm sure sand said that there were actual physical identifying marks on the armour and that the aethric mark would be dealt with by having broklyn wear the armour enough for it to metaphysically shift from being Blizzario's armour to being Brooklyn's armour.
>>
>>23678587
>>23678762
when we get water control lets not go with ice as technically water has almost no upper limit on temperature because steam is still water. Steam can reach thousands of degrees and arcturus hates heat
>>
Why not just slip the paladin a solidgram knife, and let him cut his own bonds. It's not obvious, leaves no evidence, and it's something small enough that even if it is noticed the guards will just assume he did it himself. Then we give him a solidgram sword (no armor) and let him go to work. Once he's dead we dissolve the sword as if his will was the one holding it together. I doubt it will exactly take a lot of convincing to make the paladin believe it is better to fall in battle then to actually reach his destination.
>>
>>23679298
now that is a good plan, the Explodiograms ideas was mainly a joke on my part based on the fact that we do want to make sure the paladin dies this time
>>
>>23679298
I agree. The only thing I would like to add is that it will be necessary to keep a careful eye on the paladin the whole time in case he gets away from the guards. It would be bad if that happened.
>>
One other option would be to get him out in secret and take him to a 'safe place' (the shrine). We could also then leave clues behind for the bodyguards and lead them to the shrine as well. If they have some supernatural means of tracking him that could net us three sacrifices.

In that scenario the problem would be if they bring mercenaries along. How would you guys feel about sacrificing them? If you would be against it, then it might be worth it to rob the demons beforehand so they do not have the money to hire them.
>>
>>23679536
the problem with that is lord arcturus knows about the paladin and has ordered the demon guards to bring the paladin to him. so when they fail a question fate or scrying will probably happen, as such we don't want it to happen near the shrine
>>
Alright, up now. Let me get some food and I'll start
>>
since we are going to have a direct part in seeing the Paladin die, would that not return us as a motive behind his death just as the King of Despair was returned when we questioned who stole our body?
>>
[1/3]

“...I’ll give him a soligram weapon. They look to be real, but one solid blow will easily make it vanish. Poof, dead Paladin.” you say.

“That does leave evidence that it was set up to make him die then.” Ada says.

“Then a jinx charm on a normal shield. At the very least we need something.” you say.

“...A jinx charm would be a good idea. The only evidence it’d leave behind is the shield itself, and that can only be done with aura sight for a very short window. Even fate will say the Paladin died by another’s hand, as it is technically true.” Ada says.

“Perfect. We have two options at least. So now we get going to see those adventurers?” you ask.

“If you don’t mind.” Sebastien say.

“Oh please! Take your time!” Erika says in a somewhat desperate tone.

“Oh come on Erika! Training won’t be that bad!” Mina says putting her arm around her.

“The fatality rate is only 11%. You’ll be fine.” Sebastien tells her.

Erika makes a worried groan of displeasure when she hears of this.

******

With that, you and your group begins the trek over to the old city ruins up north. As you pass by, you note that the pirate base you first raided is still there, static in time amidst the frozen ruins of the old world city.

The group continues on in the maze of buildings, making you wonder how people of the old world actually navigated this urban mess. Sebastien then turns to enter a rather non-descript building of sorts, and you’re somewhat taken off guard when Sebastien actually goes behind the desk in the lobby to pull out a hidden keypad from behind the desk and inputting a fairly long code into it.
>>
[2/3]

“If we don’t disarm the traps then getting into the base will be a hassle.” Sebastien says as he flips the keypad back into the desk.

“And that actually keeps out the snow pirates?” you ask.

“Most of them. The few who do work up the courage usually die. As such many of the snow pirates marked this as the lair as belonging to the vengeful ghosts of the old world.” Sebastien says.

“Not that far from the truth then.” Ada comments as you continue down some steps and into the building.

What’s more scary to you at least is that on the way down, despite paying close attention, you don’t even see any of the traps on the way down. They must be hidden very well

“Here it is. Home sweet home.” Sebastien says as you turn around the corner.

You turn around the corner, and even you’re surprised by the setup he has here. You can see entire bathtubs of the old world holding liquid water off in the corner, bizzare metal bulb like contraptions going down into the tub. A small, but rather well stocked workbench is next to what appears to be a small forge, no doubt for making new bullets. A firepit can be seen next to a modest amount of sleeping bags, some of them containing the adventurers from before. Off in the other corner bags and crates of food can be seen. To your great shock, even an old world computer can be seen, strange geometric shapes dancing on the holographic display, possibly a program for the alarms no doubt.

“...God damn Sebastien, you’ve got it made here.” you comment.

“It gets me by.” Sebastien says as takes his anti-material rifle, hanging it up on a wall before rummaging in a box near his workbench.

“...I’ll admit that you’re one of the more resourceful people I’ve seen in my life, and that’s credit coming from someone like me.” Ada says as she looks around the base.
>>
[3/3]

“Oh! The Adventurers!” Mina says running over to them.

“They’re fine, but they’re going to be very hungry when they wake up. They’ve been out for a few days.” Sebastien says as he then pulls out a piece of grey cloth. “Erika, come here.”

“...Eh?” Erika asks as she walks on over to Sebastien. “You need something, sir Sebastien?”

“Yea, that we properly begin your training.” Sebastien says as he pulls down Erika’s hood, wrapping her eyes with the bandage cloth.

“...What purpose does this serve?” Erika asks.

“This is the crash course in learning how to use your powers.” Sebastien says tieing the bandage to her head. “From now on, you’ll be keeping that around your eyes at all times.”

“Eh!? How am I supposed to see!? W-w-what about in battle!?” Erika asks.

“That’s where your powers come in.” Sebastien says lighting a cigarette. “You’ll learn how to rely on your powers far more than anything else. ...I guess if you want to read in an emergency you’re allowed to lift it, but only in dire cases.”

Brodin just simply chuckles to himself. “What? You’re giving him the training of a Nagant?”

“I’m not training her in pistols yet.” Sebastien replies.

“Mainly meant the supernatural creature.” Brodin says. “All of them go around with a bandage around their eyes all the time as well. Certain Shikigami do it as well.”

You can see Erika slowly walking around with her hands in front of her, looking to be very nervous. “Ah... Ah... Ow!” she says upon stubbing her foot into a crate and falling over onto the ground.

Sebastien simply looks at her while remaining silent.

“This is madness! How am I supposed to be training if I am unable to see a thing!?” Erika says, her fists pounding into the floor in a small amount of anger.

(Reaction to any of this? Go off to see the adventurers? I got a small meeting to head to, but I'll be back fairly soon)

Why not just give him a proper weapon? Let him fight his way free, in the middle of nowhere, and see if he makes it back alive, while bombarding the camp with annihilation shots.

Do we need him dead 100% entirely? It's not like we can't keep letting him just hack his way through more and more enemies.

>>23681353
Because we need things neatly tied up.

then check on the adventurers. We can prepare some tea for everyone. That, and we can talk shop more with the Wizard, after all, that is what scholars do. Compare learning with their fellows to gain a greater understanding.

We don't want any 'question fate' or scrying rituals to return anything about us in regards to the Paladins death. We are going to give him normal a weapon and shield, though said weapon and shield will be under the influence of a 'bad luck charm' as to encourage his demise...

>>23681353
because we're trying for deniability against the question fate ritual

What are they going to pick up if they see he's alive? "He's being helped by things that aren't fate-linked"?

>>23681526
Adventurers are enlightend so they have the Aethric power to screw with their own fate. Erika has Divination Jamming and it isn't likely someone will spend a Question fate ritual on her
>>
>>23681526
>Adventurers are enlightend so they have the Aethric power to screw with their own fate

So......................wouldn't it just come across that an ADVENTURER has defied his fate? Or would it show up that WARNING SOMEONE WHO CAN TWIST FATE THAT IS NOT AN ADVENTURER has intervened?

If that's the case, just have Sebastian shoot the bodyguards; since he's already enlightened.

>>23681513
Fair point. I'm having fun and all, but I would like to graduate to "mid level" play pretty soon.

>>23681526

when we looked into who took our human body, it returned 'King of Despair' and i am most confident that he did not personally come to the shrine and take our human body. Thusly, it is safe to assume that as long as we take no direct action in killing him, we should be fairly safe from being linked to it. To be extra cautious, we could always get the wizard to make the bad luck charms...

>>23681626

I get we don't kill the paladin directly. Why not just let the paladin kill the bodyguards, then dispose of the paladin at a later time? "Oh, the paladin survived, but later on died in a battle against succubi" isn't exactly suspicious; the pally would attack succubi on sight anyway.
>>
>>23681703
because that tells them that there are succubi nearby.

>>23681703

I just worry that the charm plan will lead to the bodyguards escaping after killing the paladin.
>>
>>23681843
So? They're just scrubs.
>>
>>23681843
True, but demonic bodyguards are probably aware of reaper limitations (needing to be provoked for example) given how many of Brodin's kin are running around and the fact that he's not the only reaper working for demons. While reaper-bro is damn useful, I don't think this is the best fight for him.
>>
>>23681878
They beat the paladin last time, if we don't arm the pally properly he's just going to get beat down and then we're going to have to kill a motherfucker, and oh fuck they're scrying us etc.

And if they're not killed by the paladin, then what do we do? Kill them and then get scryed? They're unlikely to be accepting of jinx charms.
>>
>>23681912
Your over reacting. Stop being hysterical.
>>
>>23681912
Sorry, just got caught up (sorta). Weren't we trying to get a meal for the queens out of this or was that deemed too dangerous?
>>
>>23681906
This is my plan:
Arm the paladin, let him kill the two bodyguards, give help where necessary.
Fate ritual puts eyes on the bodyguard.

Later; taunt paladin into attacking Brodin (easy enough, he ALREADY attacked Brodin so's marked for death anyway), then Brodin kills him.

Brodin gets fate ritual eyes on him for a bit, but no-one gives a fuck, paladin is lawful stupid good and fucked with the wrong reaper, demons can watch Brodin get drunk off his ass for a while.

Clean story, everyone is happy (except for the ones who are dead), all wrapped up nicely.

The charm plan runs the risk of the bodyguards surviving, which are a lot less tractable and manipulable than the paladin.
>>
>>23681944
I wouldn't mind doing that. Let the paladin rebel and get killed by the body guards. then Attack an knock out the body guards, drag them to the temple and have Seabass Coup De Grace them. Queens still get Aether, Seabass is the one who actually killed them, loose ends tied up.
>>
>>23681944
that depends on how the scrying would work, we don't want to reveal the shrine to the pride demons
>>
>>23681626
Don't adventurers defy fate all the time as a result of active aether exposure? I mean, these guys are enlightened, right?
>>
>>23681970
My plan:
1. Set the paladin up to die.
then do >>23681976
>>
>>23681976
Don't think that Sebastian will be too happy marking himself out like that. Then again, isn't he sort of a target from helping kill Blizzy?

Thought that any attack would be launched when they're transporting the paladin to the mindripping grounds.

If you were going to attack while everyone is in the palace, how exactly are you going to attack the bodyguards and drag them off all the way to the lair?

“You’re soft on her. I wouldn’t have told her anything for at least another hour.” Sebastien says tapping his cigarette into an ashtray.

“Mmmmuuhhh...” Erika moans as she tries to stand up once again.

“Sebastien, do you keep any tea in this place? I’m going to make something warm for the adventurers when they wake up.” you tell him heading over to his firepit.

“In the box labelled as B. Food. I’ve only got coffee though.” Sebastien says.

“It’ll do.” you say going over to the box and opening it up. Quite a few old world non-perishable breakfast food items are inside, and sure enough you do find a container of old world coffee inside, the kind that is already crushed and already in those paper bags and everything. Ah... the wonders of the old world...

You turn on the firepit, boiling a kettle while waiting for the adventurers to wake up. As if almost by pure luck, the adventurers seem to slowly wake up as you boil the water.

“Ugh... Where... are we?” Troy the young Rogue says sitting up in his bed, eyes squinting as they adjust.

“Safe.” Mina replies as she helps the Rogue up. “Easy now... You’ve been through a lot.”

“Ugh... My head...” Uilosdir the elven wizard says rubbing his bandaged head.

“...Pollock and Bass...” Uilosdir says.

“...They didn’t make it. I’m sorry.” you reply as you finish pouring the coffee.

“We tried to help them, but they were already too far gone.” Sebastien replies. “Lost too much blood.”

“...Guess this is why our wounds aren’t healed up by now...” Alex says rolling his shoulder. “I guess its back t the long way of healing for the time being...”

“Still... Thank you for saving us.” Uilosdir says, gladly taking the cup of coffee you hand him.

“Only common human decency to help someone out after all.” you reply.

“...You’re not any ordinary humans though, aren’t you?” Troy the Rogue asks while you hand him his cup of coffee.

“Does it matter what they are? They saved our lives.” Alex replies.

Hm... This could be a good time to tell them that you’re Succubi yourselves if you felt like it. You do wonder if Janine’s mind wipe left any traces of demonic traits during the battle. Certainly Ada and Mina displayed their traits during it, but you didn’t at least.

"As your fighter says, does it matter what we are? Only that we are friends and helped during a time of trouble.” you say as you hand the fighter his mug of coffee. “For now however, I advise having some coffee to help regain your wits."

“Forgive him. He’s just naturally suspicious of everyone.” Alex says waving off Troy’s concerns, but you notice he’s looking up at you with a friendly grin on his face. “But may we acquire the names of such lovely ladies? I recall hearing some names said during the fighting.”

You can only smile back in return, happy that if he’s healthy enough to try and flirt that he’s healthy enough to do most other things. “My name is Brooklyn. Over there is my friend Mina, the young girl is Ada, the Reaper is Brodin, and the old man is named Sebastien. The girl with the blindfold on is named Amy..”

“Amy? ...Ow!” Erika mutters to herself as she walks face first into a coathanger.

“...Any reason for the blindfold?” Uilosdir asks.

“Psionic training.” Sebastian replies.

“...I thought I had it rough.” Alex says watching Erika.

“What of the snow pirates we captured?” Troy asks.

“We did have Sebastien do some mental prodding around in your mind.” Brodin says. “It appears those people you were going to save were fated to die soon. Most likely at the town.”
>>
[2/2]

“What did you do with them?” Troy asks Brodin.

“I cut them lose. Knowing fate, they’re probably dead by now.” Brodin says. “This is better than me going out and killing them, as I don’t particularly enjoy killing men, women, and children who have nothing but gain rotten luck.”

“Oui... Oui I think I remember you guys saying something like that when I was drifting in and out of consciousness back at the base.” Alex says sipping his coffee.

“...Maybe a band of raiders would’ve stormed through the town?” Uilosdir asks.

“No. I know the patrols of bandits and town you’re talking about. Given the recent pressure here in the city, no local snow pirate band would be willing to make a raid on the magnitude needed to raze a small town.” Sebastien says.

“Then why were we asked to get the people of the town?” Uilosdir asks.

“Hm... I’m not sure. This is something we should probably look into ourselves.” Alex says looking into his coffee.

“Storm’s coming for a few days. It’ll be best if you’d buckle down and just spend that time healing up until the storm’s cleared.” Sebastien tells them.

“...Then where are we going to go? Are we just going to stay here?” asks Uilosdir.

“That’s up to you. However you may want to investigate your employer.” you say.

“I’ll contact my department and ask if anyone in that village who was supposed to die hasn’t passed through the underworld yet.” Brodin says to the group.

“Merci, it’ll be a big help.” Alex replies.

“But as for housing... I can get you a place in Fort Hope. It should hopefully do well as a short term house.” you tell them.

“How soon until we move in?” Troy asks.

“I’d just need to finalize a few things.” you reply.

“...Wait. Fort Hope, you mean the place that is under Articus control?” Uilosdir asks. “What about the law requiring anyone who is awakened must serve Articus?”

“We lie.” Troy replies.

Ada simply gestures to Troy. “As the young boy said. I’ve been living in Fort Hope for some time, with anyone being none the wiser.”

“...You have some nerve to call me young.” Troy says looking at Ada.

A small smirk comes across her face. “I’m older than I appear to be boy.”

“It appears that we’re going to be stuck here until after the blizzard anyways.” Alex says. “Gives us some time to plan at the very least.”

“And to relax!” Mina replies to Alex.

“And I assume a girl like you would know of a few places?” Alex asks with a grin on his face.

Mina gives out a coy smile as she traces a finger down along his jaw. “A few...”

“...Oh this is just great...” Troy sighs as he sees Mina flirt with him.

(Anything else you want to discuss about with the adventurers or Erika? If not, I may as well narrate going back home and them getting an inn and a quick description of asking Amanda to get the house ready)
>>
>>23683584
Feel a pang of jealousy of Mina flirting with someone else and most likely spending time with them.

And sure time skip.
>>
>>23683672
>spending time with them.
to add to my post here. I meant 'time' as in sex time.
Just to make it clear I don't want to be possessive of Mina.
>>
>>23683584

nothing of importance needs to be discussed with anyone at this time. mayhap a passing joke asking Sebastian not to kill Amy while training her... might give her a slight incentive for her training... that and her response would be mildly amusing...
>>
[1/2]

You feel a small pang of jealously going through you at the moment, seeing Mina flirting with someone else, one you probably know she’s going to go out with later.

You take a deep breath, trying your best to sweep those concerns under the rug. You want Mina to be free, and aside from feeling animalistic lust towards him, she doesn’t have as strong of feelings of true love when compared to someone like you. So you should be fine for the time being.

You then hear a low crashing sound. Turning around, you can see that Erika has tripped over some boxes. “...Ow...” she mutters while rubbing her leg.

“Try not to kill her during the training.” you say giving a small laugh.

“Oh don’t worry. The real training begins tomorrow.” Sebastien says.

“...Oh is that why she’s fated to die tomorrow?” Brodin asks.

“EH!?” Erika gasps as Brodin says this.

All of you have a rather good laugh out of her reaction to what was just said.

“That isn’t funny!” Erika has protesting as she slowly tries to stand back up.

******

After the Adventurers are properly rested up, everyone except Erika and Sebastien head back to Fort Hope. You get the adventurers a visitors pass from the guards. A guest pass will allow people into the residential and commercial areas of the city, but they’re banned from entering the noble areas or mercenary areas. Good enough to let them stay for a few days though.
>>
[2/2]

While Mina brings them over to the Adamant Door to get a room, you head over to Amanda’s place as Sara, asking her about the housing situation. Amanda claims it is going rather smoothly, and she should have it finalized sometime around tomorrow.

After the events are done, you lean against one of the bath house pillars and give a long sigh. This week has been rather hectic for you. ...In a matter of fact, nearly every week has been hectic ever since you’ve first transformed into a Succubus. Looking at a nearby shop window, you see that it is 5:00 PM. The sun is now starting to set, but the day is still mostly young.

You wonder what you should do with your free time. You do have that game tonight with your friends at the Red Fox Inn, though your clothes could certainly stand to be washed as well...

Either way, you have a minor luxury of free time all to yourself now.
>>
>>23684106
Wash clothes, continue to study darkness (I really want to get that and light to great).
>>
>>23684106
>You do have that game tonight with your friends at the Red Fox Inn, though your clothes could certainly stand to be washed as well...
teh game is an obligation that we will not skip, if we have other time then some elemental control practice should be in order particularly water( Immune to natural extremely cold temperatures. Resistance to supernaturally based cold/water attacks.) and darkness
>>
>>23684106
wash clothes. attend the game (it's tradition).
Then just learn and train.
>>
>>23684106

let us put on some fresh cloths (assuming we have any) then head out to meet up with our friends. we can get some food during the game, as emotions will probably be raised during key parts...
>>
>>23684192 here.
I agree with >>23684183
>Immune to natural extremely cold temperatures. Resistance to supernaturally based cold/water attacks.
We need water control just for that.
We are going against Articus in the future, and that will help.
>>
>>23684183
I dislike learning water. I know that given the level up system its extremely tempting to learn a lot of controls to a decent level, but I think that's a bad idea.
>>
>>23684183
Agreed. Maybe we could try and wash our clothes with water control if we get that far.
>>
>>23684223
as a Okarian lord brooklyn has 2 boosts to learning magic so it shouldn't take long to learn basic water.
>>
>>23684323
Yeah, but it disracts us from increasing our ranks in darkness and light. Which is taking far to long already.
>>
>>23684343
But we could really use the immunities and resistance.
Have you forgotten that Articus domain has extreme cold?
>>
>>23684375
Nope. I think its an okay idea. I just really want to level up darkness and light as soon as possible.
>>
>>23684404
I agree. But the time we would spend on getting water control is WAY shorter than the time for the next darkness/light control level.
So it's like time management. Do you do a 1 day training and get new powers or do 7 day training for increase in current power?
>>
>>23684474
7 days, because that allows you to actually kill tougher things. Plus, we are planning to make a SCIENCE! succubi. Have her solve our problem with SCIENCE!
>>
>>23684505
I guess we would have to agree to disagree.
As I would rather spend 1 day for new powers than 7 days for increase in power. Rather than first 7 days training and spend those 7 days without new powers.
>>
>>23684474
>>23684505
It wouldn't actually be 7 days to upgrade light or darkness simply because we use them so much in combat, and it takes a day to go from average to good rank we're trying for basic
>>
>>23684557
>than
I meant then. As if, after 1 day training, do the long term one.
>>
>>23684505
If we're doing them both, then doing water first only delays the light/darkness by one day which probably isn't going to make any difference because we won't run into anything tougher until TO. Doing light/darkness first delays the useful water control by a whole week, and waiting for Amanda to fix it for us delays it even longer.
>>
>>23684568
Right. And it takes three days to learn a new control.
>>
>>23684637
sand says two days if we get Ada to tutor us
>>
[1/2]

Well obviously first things first, getting your clothes washed. You really need some clean clothes. ...Or hell some new clothes in general.

You head back to your place, throwing the current dress you’re wearing into the clothing pile before putting some of your male clothes back on. You give a small sigh of comfort as for the first time in weeks, you put actual casual pants on and not some sort of cumbersome stress or lethal clothing that tightly clings against your skin.

You then take your clothes over to the baths, paying the small fee to get them washed (-2 silver 5 copper) before heading back to your place.

You decide to try and increase and exercise your darkness control, making your darkness tentacles do things such as wrestle against each other, manipulate fine objections, and blotting out the light in your house. As you train, you wonder if you should do something such as learning Water Control. The way Ada never seemed to wear any heavy clothing outside seems like it’d be a good idea, especially since once someone goes too far north, the temperatures get inhumanly cold. You’re not sure how cold, but according to reports you read it is the kind of cold where nearly nothing can get done at all. A lot of treasures can be heard to exist up there to those willing to brave to the cold, but so far no mortal has ever gone more than a days trip into the so called, ‘Ice Zone’ territory. Articus’s castle is... quite a bit further than that. It is something more of the long term of things, but something you definitely need to think about.

Or you can try learning it by yourself. You’re an Okarian Demon Lord, so it should account to something, right?

Once you’re done practicing, you pack up your bag, heading out to meet your friends at the Red Fox Inn for the night.

******
>>
[2/2]

You make you way over to the Red Fox Inn, noticing that the wind has seemed to pick up a small bit already. Upon entering the room, you can see your friends tucked away in the same table you always game at on Friday nights.

“Hey guys.” you say walking over to them.

“Hey Brook.” all of them reply in kind.

“...Male clothing today?” Roger asks looking at you.

“All of my dresses are dirty and the lessons I had with Brothen was cancelled this morning. Like hell I’m wearing that thing when I don’t need to.” you reply.

“I dunno, I thought the dress really suited you.” Tristen replies.

You just stare at him flatly.

“...What?” he asks innocently.

“I’m not surprised that your lesson with Brothen was cancelled. Hell, the teaching job I had today was cancelled as well.” Leo replies.

“Yea, it makes me wonder what the fuck was going on.” Roger replies. “We were lucky those explosions only hit abandoned houses.”

“That was a diversion. Langy’s castle was also assaulted during the chaos.” Brock replies.

“Eh!? Why would someone assault Langy’s castle!?” Tristen asks.

You all just blankly stare at him, wondering if he actually thought over that statement.

“OK! The man has enemies yes, but I still wonder what the reason the attack was for and who did it!” Tristen says. “There has been no official word as of yet, and lot of people in the town are worried.”
>>
>>23684833
Don't say anything stupid about the attack. Just play the game and go home.
>>
>>23684833
Yea, just play the game. No need to involve them.
>>
>>23684833
AskTtristen (or someone less clueless) when he thinks you'll be back at work. Make sure to mention nothing about Erika, Langy, the sacrifice, the adventurers or Blizzy's disappearance.

Next time we're messing with darkness control try lengthening our wings and supplementing their natural muscle with darkness and seeing if we can't learn some basic flight a little early.
>>
>>23684833
"Who knows and who cares ... well I do care. I lost some bloody pay because of ... whatever happen. Ah, forget it. Let's just start the game, where were again?"
>>
>>23684959
>were again

>>
>>23684824
>learning Water Control
we should definitely learn water control, makes us resistant to most of the high end Pride demons in the area including Articus. water control combined with our light control means blizzards are no obstacle, and just because most use the water control for ice doesn't mean we can't use it for high pressure high temperature Steam jets or fog banks
>>
>>23685055
Nope. Wait until Ada is free to teach us and we actually need it.
>>
>>23685095
there is going to be a blizzard in the morning, one that will last a couple of days we have time
>>
>>23685095
Agree with waiting for Ada to teach us, but I think water control probably is useful enough in this frozen wasteland that we should learn it before we need it. Hopefully we'll have a few days before Ada offs Langy to learn it from her, otherwise it might be awhile before things calm down.
>>
>>23685138
right, we're in the great white north but the cold has been turned up to 11. being immune to cold is a huge boon in this environment
>>
You simply shrug. “Articus and Langy have their fair share of enemies. Such an attack is shocking, but it doesn’t surprise me.”

“I concur.” Brock replies.

“When will things return to normal anywho? I don’t mind getting time off from work, but I also like be paid and not sleep on the streets.” you reply.

“Oh things should be settled away by monday.” Roger replies.

“If we’re lucky.” Leo replies.

“Good. For now let’s just get away from the insanity and complexities of real life and just indulge ourselves in a little gaming, hm?” you ask.

“Been waiting for that all week.” Roger says as he pulls out his character sheet.

Hm... What were you planning to throw at the group this time again? You’ve been so busy lately that you feel it is on the tip of your tongue...

(I think I’ll call the thread here. We’re near autosage and I got my own game to plan for now. On the flip side, you’re free to suggest what things you want to make for the game since Brooklyn is the DM. Also I’ll feel that I’ll mention it now, Brooklyn’s wings are not fully grown. If he wants to learn something like flight over the weekend, he can. There’s also the issue of who you’d want to spend some time with. Doing things such as spending time with Amanda/Leona, or time with Uilosdir [He IS a Wizard after all]. Free time on the weekend and lots of it)
>>
>>23685224
if we can get Ada to tutor us in water control we should
>>
>>23685224
More darkness control, we really need to up that. Also, further corrupting Amanda and Leona, and putting into place the "bad luck paladin" plan.
>>
>>23685224
We should get Ada to tutor us. And on off hours spend more time with Amanda and Leona.
>>
>>23685224
I think we had Skip over it in one post planned
>>
>>23685357
Seconding this
>>
>>23685224
Well, we promised Amanda we would teach her a ritual and given her recent rage/depression over the bounds of fate I think we should check in on her anyway. If we can learn water control in a day from Ada do that first, if learning a new control with tutoring takes longer than a day than work on using darkness (preferably alternate uses, such as personal armor or improved shadow-porting).
>>
>>23685224
We should probably arrange for the various succubi to begin powering up the Queens.
>>
>>23685224
I have no issues asking if Ada would be willing to help us, tutor us, or whatever for water control but I still like are main focus to be on darkness.

There's also that job for the Hawks we can/should do over the weekend.

And whenever we're not doing that working with Amanda/Leona.
>>
>>23685224
How far away are we from improving darkness to Great!? Same with light.
>>
>>23685449
Think so ... whatever the one we picked up at the bar. Might be getting the wrong merc group.
>>
Probably days away assuming you stick to mainly one element. Four or five assuming you spend at least three or four hours training each day.

Remember that training does drain aether though, so the issue of feeding will also come up as well.
>>
>>23685224
Whatever we're doing, try finding a way to apply aura sight to it. That skill is relatively cheap and very useful so we should invest in improving it whenever possible.
>>
>>23685440
i'm betting that darkness is closer to level up than light is just look at all those 100s on darkness attack last thread
>>
>>23685483

yea that.
>>
>>23685485
>Remember that training does drain aether though, so the issue of feeding will also come up as well.
Can't we automate that for this period? Spend time watching a game, feed on emotion, or do another bar visit with friends.
>>
>>23685488
this goes of suggestion, and cloaking as well as well
>>
>>23685519

Shouldn't be too hard to do, sure. I'd probably only bring up how to feed in the situations where it is a bit tricky to do so at certain times.

>>23685493

Yea Darkness is probably closer at this point.
>>
>>23685224
Okay, in the game, let's put them up against a nice traditional dungeon crawl, monsters, traps, treasure, all of that good stuff.

For the weekend, we should spend time with Uilosdir, he's a wizard and we want to get our Aetheric Theory improved as that is the basis for most of the stuff we do and he knows more about it than us.

Other than that spending time with Amanda and Leona would be good, we can keep on slowly eroding Leona's fervent hate of demons, teach Amanda what we promised to teach her, all of that good stuff.

>>23685265
>>23685357
Honestly picking up a Control just for the passive seems silly, we don't want to spread ourself too thin, and against the level of cold that someone like Articus can put out the resistance we'll get will be negligible.
>>
>>23685530
True, but suggestion is limited to social contexts and cloaking is a medium a ether consumption ability. Aura sight is very useful in social situations, allows more targeted suggestions and can reveal enlightened beings. Not sure if it can let us see spell casting in action at some point, but that would probably help us learn new spells and magic controls. Anyway, I just think that aura sight is the most useful low hanging fruit we have that can be worked on in conjunction with other things without leaving us too drained.
>>
>>23685553
one last question. How noticeable is the Demon lord learning advantage? I'm wondering because some people don't want to tell Ada that we are a demon lord I I was wondering if having her teach us would make the advantage obvious.
>>
just for the records, I am in favor of picking up basic elemental control for the passives. we can always use them as utility powers or if we want to be lazy... if we get fire, water and earth control we could effectively make tea whenever we want, or at least a container of boiling water...
>>
>>23685678
we tried, she thought we were joking
>>
>>23685696
That was mostly because people were divided. I just want to know if having her tutor us will make it obvious that we are learning to quickly
>>
>>23685687
>boiling water...
we wouldn't need fire control to boil water.
>Can increase the heat or remove heat from a body of water no bigger than a water tower container to either boiling or pure ice. this way we'd always have optimum temperature water for our tea
>>
>>23685756
that and the fact that Ada is a skeptic
>>
>>23685756
It would be obvious but we could probably explain it away with "oh I tried some stuff out on my own before asking for help, I didn't want to waste your time" + Okarina magic affinity. But no, Ada didn't believe us because our claim of being a demon lord is pretty outrageous (there aren't that many demon lords out there and next to none are our level).
>>
>>23685766
As well as water control being able to heat water:
>Exert basic control over water or substances which are mostly water based (Such as tea or Pepsi)
>such as tea
I can't believe there are actually people who are against Brooklyn learning Tea Control.
>>
>>23685895
No she believed us because Sandact tried to pass it off as a joke because people are divided. And its totally believable, because she knows about the Queens.
>>
>>23685895
Why would we want to explain it away again. Outright lying to her about it is a terrible idea. She'll learn about it soon enough anyway.
>>
>>23685485

Yes. But a specialist who focuses on a few things will kick the ass out of a generalist any day of the week. Look at how much trouble we has with Blizzarous and he used nothing but ice control and some basic melee abilities.
>>
>>23686993
I've said this before, I'll say it again: Jack of all trades, master of none, sucks at all.

It's trap setup that leaves one gimped for far too long until everything catches up to the higher levels.
>>
>>23687059
>>23687103
You are implying that we will be training ALL the control's into higher levels, instead of just grabbing basic levels for the passives.
>>
>>23687143
You seem to think that the passive's don't increase with rank. They do. Long term its better to use armor (which someone else can make) to fill in our gaps.
>>
>>23687143
To get them to point where the passives are even wroth a damn. You need to drop a good chunk of time into them. And there is a lot of controls. That time is better spent on focusing getting two or maybe three controls up to a higher levels.
>>
>>23686993

I wouldn't say diminishing. Compare average darkness control to good. At Average you could lift a car. At good, a city bus. The skills climb rather rapidly. For an example, check Miyu's sheet and how quickly her ranks in Kata. superscience rose with each level
>>
>>23687191
>You seem to think that the passives don't increase with rank
not at all, I know that. It's just that even a basic passive level is worth a damn to have. 'natural' bonus is always good to have. Even if it's just to ignore the environmental temperature.
>>
>>23687226
I think his argument is diminishing returns per unit of time. BTW, what level was Blizzy at with his Ice? It'd be a useful comparison.

besides, if the difference with having "resistance to supernatural cold attacks" and not having it, is that we can survive a killshot to strike back and the other we get oneshoted. I all up for having that resistance.
>>
>>23687409
>Note how the demon knight we needed five people to take down has his primary ability as Great! And we are Days away from reaching his level
His level in one school of magic. That doesn't mean we'll instantly become a one-man army. And I don't think anybody is arguing against continuing to specialise in Light and Darkness, we just want a bit of utility magic as well.

>If you think Ada's "resistance to supernatural cold attacks" would cause that demon lord to do anything other than laugh I have news for you.
I think it will reduce the damage from his supernatural cold attacks. Certainly it's nowhere near enough for her to be a match for him, but it helps.

Hum as for game session. tempted to either run a horror themed session with undead or wear wolves.

Thought for Amanda's future development: If we plan on turning her into a Miyian, wouldn't she lose the use of the spells we want to teach her? We should have a talk with her about what clan she wants to join before we waste time teaching her useless skills.

No, it won't. It's not magic. It's just a really good sweater. It will only protect bits that are covered, and we need eye-holes and stuff.
Plus, if we have the cold resistance naturally then she can build some other form of protection for us to wear instead, then we can have two resistances!

>Cannot use magic aside from character magic
means that they cannot learn the controls. Rituals are not classed as 'magic' magic, but 'ritual' magic. This was mentioned by Sandact in one of the previous threads, that rituals do not need any afinity to magics, only a material and aether cost.

Considering we saw Amanda had access to micro chips (gifts/ tribute to her family) and duct tape, I think she probably could whip something up. And yes, the super science crafting system is run exclusively on the rule of cool, so micro chip + duct tape + instant noodles + any kind of rod = heat/death ray is feasible.
>>
>>23687883
No one said to skip over the game session.
>>
>>23687992
>where
Think it was thread 6 or 7 that had miyu's arc, that shows the extreme end of the powerscale, but you can extrapolate.
>>
>>23688046
That relies heavily on the 'rule of cool' and what DM says is possible with it. Not to mention the materials that are available.
I would rather stick to the things we definitely know and add that exotic stuff as an extra. Thanks.
>>
>>23688069
I read Miyu's flashback. She made a poison out of some chemicals from a gas station. That seems perfectly feasible super-science, unlike building a death ray from pot noodles and duct tape.

Mina mentions something as well. She saw a Miyan make a flaming sword out of coal, metal, a furnace, and a few other common knick-knacks.

I don't get what that post means.
" Skip over it in one post " What does that mean?
Just have one post describing the game, what?
>>
>>23688199
Yeah, just skip over the game and get on with Demon lording.
>>
>>23688221
Than that is just one post for it and I disagree. I would rather see the game and it seems others do as well.
>>
>>23688221
I'd like to see the game. I like Brooklyn's nerd buddies and it's a fun change of pace.
>>
>>23688221
I'd prefer to skip over the game, but if people insist I suppose we could do it. Just make it quick.
>>
>>23688260

it would definitely make for a pleasant change of pace. could be run like a 'Sub-Quest' or an Omake...
>>
>>23688221
As long as its not a post heavy description of the game I'm ok with it
>>
>>23688177
any idea when the next thread will be?
>>23688248
Dude, don't lecture him about it. I'm fine either way, but their was like one suggestion for what to do in two hours after he said skip it.
>>
>>23688382

If not this friday than next Wednesday
>>
>>23688400
Cool.
>>
>>23688330
Eh, I just feel that this arc is dragging a bit. I'm just afraid well never get around to being a powerful demon lord at this rate.
>>
>>23688382
>Dude, don't lecture him about
I was lecturing? I don't get it.
And I suggested what to do here. 23685357
I didn't mention anything about the game as I felt others can suggest better things for it. And I ignored >>23685364 post, because I wasn't sure what he is suggesting.
>>
>>23688446

this is not dragging.... taking 5 thread to leave the starting location is dragging... having a thread hit the auto-sage limit over a period of 5 days with only 4 updates is dragging. This is most definitely not dragging.
Caught up in the details, yes. Dragging, no.
>>
>>23688491
Are you comparing this to that Stargate quest? Because yeah, that died without accomplishing anything. That said, this quest could be sped up a little bit. I'd really just prefer to automate everything but dealing with our student's transformation, the twins and killing Langy.
>>
>>23688562
It was sorta described as once we killed Blizzarios everything would be wrap up when it comes to taking over the town. It hasn't exactly worked out that way though. I'm getting a bit of arc fatigue myself.
>>
>>23688626
Yeah, I'd like to get to the TO trip soon.
>>
>>23688626

I was going to see if I could wrap it up soon-ish persay yes.
>>
>>23688651
>soon.
We need to transform Amanda, Leona and the twins. That's not happening soon.
>>
>>23688626
Same here.
>>
>>23688696
We'll be coming back from the TO trip. Leona and the twins can wait until afterwards.
>>
>>23688562

not referring to that one, mainly Bright Quest where we spend 5 threads on Solomon before departing to go test super Zudahs and go Gundamjacking, and the last installment of Hobo Quest... then again, HQ is usually slow as hell and lasts for days anyway...

Though I agree that some things could be glossed over, though in Sandacts defense, every time he does that, several anons complain about it then we get into a shitstorm over it. prime example was the whole 'Lance & Okerian emotions' issue. I genuinely feel sorry for Sandact during those times, He does all this planning and comes up with interesting ideas and scenarios, and all some of the anons can do is complain and bitch about a single sentence here, or a forgotten note there...
In the end, Most of the anons who do this get rather meta about it...
>>
>>23688696
Well the Twins are easy, we've already fed the Gemelli Queens. We need to gather Aether up for Amanda and Leona though, but we have a goon squad and allies so getting that won't be the hardest thing ever.
>>
>>23688651
I was never particularly excited about going to TO this early, mainly because I have a feeling that we'll get some sort of quest to overthrow the demon lord rather than carefully planning an insurgency. That said, this arc is getting a bit long. I would like to wrap things up within the next 5 threads or so. And by wrapped up I mean everyone transformed and all of the political and monetary support in place.
>>
>>23688754
Agree.
>>
>>23688728
I don't really think the emotional issue was really a case of glossing things over, but lets not get into that.
>>
>>23688754
>I have a feeling that we'll get some sort of quest to overthrow the demon lord rather than carefully planning an insurgency
TO is a long way to the south. New TO is the capital and a demon lord coming to old TO where we're going is apparently a big deal. Demon Lord Articus is a long way to the north, in a freezing snow castle.
Of course, something will probably go wrong, but hopefully it won't be that.
>>
>>23688754
That's also my concern. I get this arc of the quest is getting long in the teeth but when we a fumble here or there then add things to list of 'never ending list of crap to do' what do anons expect to happen? So yeah the this arc has gotten long and personally I have no problems with it. Let stuff just roll instead of getting ADD demanding things to move on.
>>
>>23688728
>He does all this planning and comes up with interesting ideas and scenarios, and all some of the anons can do is complain and bitch about a single sentence here, or a forgotten note there...

Replace anon with player and you have the story of every GM/DM ever.
>>
>>23688811
No I more meant a combination of "find the maguffin crystal" and "do some quest for faction X to get their support for the upcoming campaign" rather than spending several (timeskiped) years subverting as many locations as possible and secretly training and equipping an army.
>>
>>23688853
That's not how I see it at all. And I hope that OP does hurry this arc along.
