We have recently noticed more activity to our North, with the as yet uncontacted human nation expanding towards our borders.

Our second archer unit is now on the way to the borders, which have been fortified with trenches and hairtrigger traps. The scouts stand lookout with their rabbit mounts, and the archers are everyready for the foul Elven attack.

A navy stands ready at our port, Cutlass Cove, and our emissary's to the Dwarves try their best to convince them to send aid, but are as of yet unfruitful.

Seaside Town has grown in size, and is now a modest settlement.

Our stockpiles bulge at the seams with copper and timber, and we have plenty of food saved.

Truly we are prepared for what is coming.

Our navy sails South, scouting the area by the Elven coast, when suddenly they spot ships with triangular flowing sails, moving North - the fetid Elfkind take to the water in warships of their own. They look to match our number down to the very ship, do we trust our mere sailing skill to outdo them in naval combat?

The tunneling has begun by the borders, and we are halfway to the elven lands.

The university has begun trying to source this most excellent material in our own soil. They are as yet unsuccessful, but have hope.

Those Guys await command, sitting in a rabbit arena pub in Seaside Town.

I'd argue that rather than having mobile units for things like miners and such, things like that could be handled by resource icons within our territory. We just assume it's there to be exploited on a whim. We can construct specific things (like logging camps or mines) within 1 hex of them, and that makes them CONSTANTLY harvest, without us having to devote actions to it.

The kobolds have to reinforce their navy dramatically, and militarize the humans for service in their own defense as well as offensive operations against the elves.

Our current situation:

We have fortified the border to our Southwest, towards the elven lands. 1 unit of archers stands ready, dug into the terrain, and a unit of scouts performs nigh constant surveillance by the elven borders, ensuring we know their every move. Our other unit of archers is marching South to join the lines.

Our sappers dig 'neath the ground, toiling away, growing closer to the elves' position with each passing day.

We began a naval reconnaissance mission with our sea-bound navy, but we were interrupted when the foul creatures were sighted upon vessels of their own - they await your instruction.

The fruits of our diplomacy with the dwarfs, iron ore, has been divided amongst our stores and the University, with 1 unit going to each. The research is going steadily, but results might take a while.

Those Guys sit readily in a pub in Seaside Town.

Our allies to the East report Gnollish borders enclosing around the lake to their East, and there is talk of them forming some kind of military force in case raids begin.

They are still worthy trading partners, have done some diplomacy for us with the dwarves, and we may be able to use them as infantry in the long run if we want to wage more conventional war. They proceed to raise two units of spearmen, posting one to their Eastern border, and sending one to assist us on the elven lines.

Those Guys arrive in Yormire, and will continue travelling this round with no additional action points needing spent.

A worrying development on the high seas - the elven vessels continue their motion North, sitting on the very edges of our borders, next to our only ocean going navy.

A second wheat field is established, essential given the recent growth in Snarewood.

The sappers have reached the edge of the elven territory, and now await instruction as to what to do.

Our expansion goes better than expected, and we now hold the two southern mountains within our realms, with the two peaks above them being held by the Northerners.

Two settlements are created, the inhabitants of which await your command. We have begun digging into our food stockpile to maintain our population.

Those Guys reach the Gnollish borders, and spy a unit of warriors armed with sharpened sticks. They look most fierce, so they head North to avoid them, happily stumbling upon the Gnoll capital.

The sappers have done their job, and done it well. We now have 3 separate routes leading behind the Elven lines. They are too small for humans, but a kobold, and even his mount, are able to traverse them deftly.

Another navy is constructed, but even then the Elven fleet holds fast... fools. Between the navy and the additional settlements, our timber stockpile is completely emptied.

The digging of farmland in the Northwest goes poorly... one field is complete, with the ground barely scratched. The remoteness of the settlement at the moment seems to limit its abilities, with lack of manpower and resources.

I have received excellent word from Kobolbridge - They have found IRON ore within our very lands, in the mountain to the North. Excavation work has begun, based at Ironshard.

The university is ready for another research project - shall they resume their work on Mathematics? They say it seems quite promising, but they are willing to undertake another research if you would prefer.

Those Guys reach Gnollburg. They observe a shamanistic society, devoted to nature - with a remarkable amount of hunting going on. Taken to the Chief Shaman of the tribes, they are given a chance to speak. Like their warriors, though, the Gnolls look very fierce - hateful, almost. Perhaps that's just their way. Is there anything pertinent you would like Those Guys to say?

The diplomats have been dispatched to the North, revealing a small village with an as yet incomplete road leading nowhere. They are being escorted to the capital by some surprisingly friendly villagefolk.

In the South, one of our fleets move South. It reveals an Elven fleet moving North towards Cutlass Cove, reinforcements for the first group of vessels. Unfortunately, ANOTHER fleet has been spotted, to the East of the Cove, moving in towards it. Our fleets await your orders.

I would like to keep the copper off the table in the gnoll negotiations.

I would also like to move the human forces back to the Cutlass Cove. The ships might be an invasion fleet, and we will be in a sore spot if elven rangers go marauding through our territory.
