Our forces are back in friendly territory, and Those Guys have been deposited at the Northern capital. Moreso, our elite Rabbitear cavalry is now fully mended, and ready for deployment.

As it turns out, the King is weary of sitting in his chambers. Even the slickest tongue in the known Koboldiverse cannot soften the news that we have not wiped out the Gnolls completely. He is unhappy with the current state of affairs, having lost one of his beloved Royal navies to what he deems 'your war'. He scowls at Those Guys as he removes a tiny model ship from atop his atlas, retracts his naval support in the conflict, and retreats to his secure throne room. Fortunately, we are told the Elven and Gnollish navies are entertaining each other - for the time being, anyhow.

The Academy has been succesfully converted into a stone bastion. Outside its hardy walls stand two fresh units of spearbolds, clad in the finest iron.

Works elsewhere go less bouncily, with our attempts to upgrade housing in Snarewood yielding little due to scarcity of stone.

The University of Kobolbridge is set about with our meek stockpile of tin, attempting to imitate those Northern humans with their 'Bronze'.

Last night, I did sleep (I slept well, thanks for asking) a lot, and I had some quite weird dreams. But between all these "thight tunnels" and "crawling through wet mud" I did notice something.
Our beloved Rabbits have really long ears. And so does the great fluffy one.
I think we can use these long ears, and have them listen to what our enemies/neighbours are up to. I don't say we spy on them, just passively monitor what they are saying.
I suggest we establish some sort of "secret service" with our Rabbit friends (although I understand that sometimes the messages might be hard to understand, maybe even misleading, I still think it is worth a shot to gather more information)

The hunting party is attended by a modest collection of Kobolds, and a few humans. There are no lords, or nobles, or wealthy men here - this event has attracted only the most devoted, hardcore hunters from the known world. Many a 'bold sits upon a fierce looking rabbit mount, and a few of the Eastern humans have strange new mounts of their own, apparently purchased in the far West, by boat.

The hunt begins! the echoes of great slaughter ring throughout the forest, and soon the tables sit full with felled game. An enormous elk is toppled by a team of human and kobold stalkers, and attracts attention from far and wide. Some say the antlers from this magnificent prize should be mounted in the centre of Snarewood, a symbol of its hunting roots, though a few days later a wealthy human offers much wealth for the ornament. I await the council's decision, perhaps you have other ideas.

The discovery of a second vein of iron ore by Ironshard has reinvigorated an ailing industry. many fresh recruits have moved North from our crowded and poverty stricken Capital.

It seems the Dwarven lords are quite sick of this 'rabbit nonsense', and upon our diplomats arrival we are notified that within the delves the religion is close to being completely outlawed... The loss of cheap labour to our nation in the form of migrants has struck a nerve with the cushy nobility, and the erosion of their industry as a result has made them most agitated. While the poorer citizens amongst their civilisation still revere the holy rabbit, but those towards the top, with the most power staunchly refuse to have faith, like the fools they are.

Spring is drawing to a close, the warmth of Summer is on the way.

The dwarves are to follow the carrot as we do. But we are in no position to bring it to them with the sword. Thus, I propose to pass a dogma that the Lord of a Land that worships He Who Dwells Beneath is approved by the Great Fluffy one and that rebellion is a great sin. That should make it more attractive to the dwarven Lords.

Summer has arrived.

The religious reforms are well written and thought out, your advisor having enlisted an egghead from Kobolbridge. Clear and precise, they teach obedience and contentness above all other characteristics. This rigorous overhaul of our rhetoric goes down appallingly with the religious scholars settled by Temples End, and given their influence with the peasantry, it washes over poorly with them too. Not only has this made no difference to our people, it has also eroded our power over the Church of the Holy Carrot.

Thankfully, our border expansion goes swimmingly, and we now span across to the other side of the great lake.

We establish a fine settlement there (as yet unnamed), which takes many Kobolds out of the capital. The Dwarven labour utilised cares little for the religious turmoil of late so long as they are paid, and feel no great need to rest during the Summer. A road is also completed to the dwelling.

There are enemy movements in the East - the Elves seem victorious at sea, with no navies lost, but as expected, the Gnolls easily dispatched the Elven archers.

Lord Kobaldraon, master of the hunt and hero of the Kobold kind, takes many poor and downtrodden from our cities and raises them to fight for our nation. He stands in the bastion of the Academy surrounded by numerous well drilled, if a little underequipped, of his students of war.

In the Northeast, our forces hold fast in the face of Gnollish advances. They fear, however, they shall be assaulted shortly. The humans have raised all the levies they can, how make their way towards the border. On a related note, they have hurriedly assembled a navy to delay the lost Elves.

We easily convince workers to till the soil in our newly founded lakeside settlement. Despite the summer heat, we are able to completely saturate the lands around the village. There is no wheat here yet, but it is still enough to push our food production into surplus.

Our research is complete, and we can now smelt Bronze. A curious metal, almost as durable as iron - only it is less sensitive to water.

While the master of the hunt, the revered Koboldraon, is away, his disciples of the bow work ferverently in the forests of our nation. Much prey has been slayed for the glory of Kobold kind, and feasts take place all over our grand nation.

Taking a less direct tact with the church this time, we petition the religious fellows to declare a crusade, attempting to mend our relations with the clergy and as such, every follower 'neath them. While they seem pleased with the less commanding nature of our requests, they may need some time before they are more helpful to us.

Our militia have iron weaponry forged en masse. This enormous scale of production is unlike anything our nation has seen before, with human industrial techniques being utilised to great effect.

Our armies are moving to a unified position in order to best defend Yormire.

On the Southern coasts, the human navy clashes with the Elven vessels. Unable to produce a second fleet in time for the conflict, the human ships are vastly outmatched. They avoid direct conflict for as long as possible, but are forced to assault the Elves when they make for Grainport. The vessels are being downed very efficiently, and the battle will not last much longer.

A brigade of Koboltthrowers, and their skilled operators, is currently posted at the Academy, fresh from training. They await your command. Given our meagre Iron supply, copper has been used for the bolt heads.

On the South Seas, the human navy is done, but they managed in their desperation to take down an Elf fleet during their final hours. They now sit by the shores, slinging a few arrows towards our garrison in Grainport from time to time, and preventing trade ships from entering and leaving the harbour.

Northward, Those Guys moved South, and were met with a vast raging battle. the Gnollish Chief led the charge against the allied forces, and caused such terror in the human spearmen that they nearly routed. A quick counter charge by our veteran Rabbitears prevented this, however. Gnoll slings launch volleys of stone into the ranks of our archers, who are taking heavy casualties while they chip away at the feral warriors that make up the majority of the Gnoll forces. Although there are no rallied Wolves amongst the Gnolls this time, the foul Druids work their black arts still, imbuing the Gnoll flailwielders with unnatural fearlessness and rage. This, in fact, occasionally works to our advantage: our archers, keen hunters at home, set many traps for the evil beasts, whose almost catatonic state causes them to take no evasive action, and instead plough straight into the snares. 1 unit of Gnoll warriors has succumbed to the charms of death in the manner, assisted most ably by the sharp end of Kobold bolts.

With the forces on both sides closing into close range, Koboldraon and his students move forward to prevent our archers being overrun. They hold fast by either bravery or stupidity as the combatants move in, and I am told that in the ongoing melee the sheer numbers on our side are allowing us to hold our own against the beasts. I await your commands to send to the front.

Hey, saw this thread a couple week bad and thought the art was awesome. So of course I put it into a program. Currently it just generates an random world and gives you a few options (to explore unknown hexes, farm, and whatnot), but it can be expanded.

However I don't have a ton of time to devote to it, so I put it up for public download on GitHub at https://github.com/fatguy/SimpleWorlds

I'm fine with letting it die here, as it was really fun to make, but if anyone thinks it could make a decent game or framework, feel free to fuck around with it.

Also, I have not yet added comments, meal with it.

Git is a repository system used for collaboration between multiple people on one project. No doubt he though that on the off chance more than one person might be interested in checking it out it would be handy to have everything in place.
