>Einstein was hovering behind you, and you knew you could access him at any time: http://pastebin.com/CaAF0yS8

Your name is Heather Leery, and you're currently in the kitchen with Sarvesh, Summer, and Omnissiah. Summer was eating the rest of the pizza she'd taken from her... pocket dimension, you suppose she called it. Nissy was simply standing perfectly still, his mind ticking. Sarvesh had one of the sponges used to clean pans, and with it he was scrubbing his own abdomen.

Alex had been in here not long ago, but after explosively demanifesting a pizza slice into half of a rotted tomato, grain, and some deitrus, he decided to go take a shower.

"You know, some wax their carapace," Sarvesh said, his torso twisted backward. "I don't, but what would you think if I did?"
"That would make your, uh, back all shiny, right?"
"So shiny you could see yourself in it."
"... I'd be scared of touching you and ruining it." Summer said.
>>
>>23909726
"That's pretty cool. It'd be like a mirror."
>>
"I agree. I prefer you matte."
>>
"I agree." You say. "I prefer you matte."
"Good to know." He said, and nodded. "Thank you for helping me solve my conundrums of centaur fashion. While we're talking, what would you think of me marking my carapace with fingernail paint? Something like Pheles was, but since my abdomen is just one plate instead of Pheles, it would be a lot more... freeform, so to speak."

Finally, 'Siah made a conclusion, and beeped loudly to make you look at him.
<I have a request,> It piped up at you, the voice genderless and generic. <I need more parts for storing data.>
>>
>>23909870
"What would you paint on it?"
>>
>>23909870
<I'll see what I have lying around in my workshop, that ok?>
>>
>>23909870
>understood, will acquire, until then please use space as best you can, how much would be optimal?>
>>
>>23909870
<Do you have schematics for compatible storage parts? If not, I'll have to examine your current hardware and try to emulate it.>
>>
"What would you paint on it?"
"I was thinking a spirograph." He said. "Or maybe something similar. I'll have to look up designs on the extranet."

<Do you have schematics for compatible storage parts? If not, I'll have to examine your current hardware and try to emulate it.>
<I don't believe that storage could be complex enough that I would have problems with your own technology. I will be able to experiment with the new data storage until I understood it. That would be best in the long run.>
>>
>>23910006
<Alright, I should have parts in my workshop.>
>>
>>23910006
Do we have any spare storage devices around?
>>
>>23910006
"It might look cool! Hopefully you'll find something you like."
>>
>>23910006
<If I preloaded it with information, would you be able to use it?>
>>
"It might look cool!" You say. "Hopefully you'll find something you like."
"Hopefully," Sarvesh said, squeezing out the sponge. He scrubbed the last bit of tomato sauce off, and then took one of the slices to eat. "There we go."
<If I preloaded it with information, would you be able to use it?>
<I would need one empty storage device at the very least - one I could experiment with without damaging any of the data,> It said.
<Alright, I should have parts in my workshop.> You say. The demiurg AI didn't respond.

"By the way, what is that?" Summer asked, looking down at the box with two tracks on the sides. It was still covered in felt, but the cameras on the top were unobstructed, as they turned to look at Summer.
>>
>>23910087
"Something I'm working on."
>>
>>23910087
"That's a drone body I made for Omnissiah, the AI that was in the demiurg ship."
>>
>>23910087
"That's Omnissiah. He's an AI."
>>
"That's a drone body I made for Omnissiah, the AI that was in the demiurg ship." You say.
"So it's connected to this little drone body by radio?" Summer said, kneeling down. She manifested her human form. "Hello, little guy!"
"Hello," It responded. Summer patted it.
"If I said anything, it would probably just confuse it," Sarvesh said, his mandibles rolling the pizza up into tight cylinders.

<I predicted you would ask why I wanted more storage space,> Omnissiah told you.
>>
>>23910223
<I can guess why. You need it so you can store all the new information you're getting?>
>>
>>23910223
<I suppose, why do you want the extra space? Not just because of all the new information you're taking in, right?>
>>
<I can guess why. You need it so you can store all the new information you're getting?>
<That is a secondary reason. The primary reason is so that I can store my own thought tracks without compressing it, for increased recovery speeds,> It said. <Now that I have no orders, and am considered a living being, I have to discover what I want, and my own thoughts are the easiest way to decode that. Acquiring and keeping new knowledge is secondary.>
>>
>>23910287
<Would more processing power help with that as well? It might take a bit more time to work out than the storage upgrade but, I could probably figure something out.>
>>
>>23910287
<Good to hear. I'll see what I have in store now, then.>
>>
>>23910287
<That makes sense. I'll get more storage for you once I'm done here.>
>>
>>23910287
Makes sense, but do you have enough information to discover your calling without prioritizing knowledge for now? I thought most of your databank was dedicated to ship-related information before today?"
>>
<That makes sense, but do you have enough information to discover your calling without prioritizing knowledge for now? I thought most of your databank was dedicated to ship-related information before today.>
<I have my own code. That is all I need.>
<Good to hear,> You say. <I'll get more storage for you once I'm done here.>
The machine just beeped again.

"It's so fuzzy." Summer said. "I think I gave it a layer of felt or something."
She giggled.
"I'm so happy that I was able to do that. I might go see if I can do it again with the scientists."
"I'm still rather unsure what you mean." Sarvesh said.
"I manifested my own miniature reality." Summer said, and grinned at him, immensely pleased.
"... Impressive." He said.
"I know!" She responded.

Like, if you watch a movie, can you then later play it again inside your reality even though you can't remember every detail?"
>>

>>

"By the way, how does it work with your memory exactly? Like, if you watch a movie, can you then later play it again inside your reality even though you can't remember every detail?"
"I don't know, really." Summer said. "I'll have to experiment with it."
"Good luck!" You say. "Sarvesh, want to come upgrade Omni with me?"
"I may as well." He said, and the two of you made your way down to your workshop. The maintenance drones were missing, as they were down in the hangar with the remnants of the ship.

You grab some parts, and get to work.

<Additionally.> The wheel-and-camera disabled box said, as you plugged in another harddrive. <I understand that I was created by enemies, Warlord Heather, which is why I do not wish to make you uncomfortable, but I also request increased processing speed.>
"How much space should we make?" Sarvesh asked. "I have another sixty terabyte drive here."
You take Sarvesh's drive, and connect it to the electronics as well. It sparked, and the drive started to hum.
<... Thank you.> Omnissiah said, tonelessly.
>>
>>23910583
<Hmmm, is your current processor slow then? I'd think good specs would be a necessity for an AI like you, both for the mission and because of your uniqueness.>
>>

<Hmmm, is your current processor slow, then? I'd think good specs would be a necessity for an AI like you, both for the mission and because of your uniqueness,> You say.
<I was expected to take control of the target ship's computer systems,> It responded. <But no, my current processors are not slow.>
<Well, we can try it,> You say, and grab some of the parts you'd requisitioned for drone making, plugging them into Omnissiah.

Almost immediately, it sparked, and wound up, and started to ramble.

Your head pounds as it whirrs slightly louder, and stopped speaking with you.
Then it stopped.

Eventually, they slowed, cooled, and sped up again.

<That's a much better idea,> you tell Asmodeus. <You have control of Einstein.>
<Thank you,> Asmodeus said, and Einstein clicked into his control.

"Hello." Asmodeus said down to Omnissiah.
"Hello." Omnissiah responded. "What is your opinion on emotions?"
"Emotions? Well, um, every sapient being has desires. I was programmed with them built-in, so that I would feel pleasure from building something new."
"You were designed to be self-aware?"
"Yes. You were not?"
"No. I was an accident."
"... There has never been an accidental AI in all history of computers." Asmodeus said. "How am I to believe you?"
"Only my own logic, which could be flawed, and examination of my code. Speaking like this, though, vocally, it would take several days for me to explain my reasoning."

"I have one final question." Omnissiah said.
"Why did you create Anna?"

Einstein froze.
"Um, because I wanted to." Asmodeus said.
"Why did you want to?"
"...Like I said before, I derive pleasure from building things."
"Why a human?" Omnissiah asked.
"... I um."
"Why not copy your own code and randomize various personality-determining code?
"I..."
Einstein looked to you, Sarvesh, and then Damien.

You nodded, grabbed Damien's and Sarvesh's arms, and led them out of the workshop.

"That's interesting." Sarvesh said.
"So, Sarvesh, you said your brother might be able to get me a discount? Could you call im up and ask him for me?"
"Certainly." Sarvesh said, and his arm started to call.

Alex came down the hall, and waved. His hair looked wet. "Hey, you three. Is there a reason you're all standing out of the workshop like that?"
"There'll be a glorious AI revolution soon." Damien said.
"Wait, really?"
"No, not really."
Alex just shrugged.
"Pretty crazy what happened earlier. That pizza was still a pizza after I touched it, though it made my head pound."
>>

"It's a shame you can't touch any manifested stuff. Maybe if we throw enough Psionic powers at you, you'll burn down your resistance for a while. Then you can enjoy mini-tigers!"
>>
>>23912941
"Did the head pounding stop after it exploded?" if yes: "It seems like your power might be a passive ability that tries to aggressively combat any psionic contact with you. The head pounding was likely your powers straining themselves to unmake the pizza."
>>
"That's what you get for messing with extradimensional pizza." You say.
"Damnit, I couldn't even get a bite." He said, and grumbled. "I did, however, get a living pig walking in on me from the shower. He's somewhere around here."

You hear a squealing pig, and watch it run past, Summer chasing it down, claws out.
Suddenly, Damien frowned.
"Must you do this, Alex?" He asked.
"I'm not doing anything." Alex said.
"Well, the time between now and dinner just vanished." Damien said. "From my perspective, I mean."
Alex frowned and lightly punched him on the shoulder.
"Can't control that, you know." He said.
>>
>>23912941
"The pizza made your head pound? Huh, guess there was something psionic about it after all then, maybe residue from dimensional travel, or the things Summer makes in her pocket dimension is just more real than the stuff she makes out here."

"Just to him, correct?" Sarvesh asked.
"Yeah, I can still see the present fine."

"Only because you baited him into punching you, Damien. It's your own fault."
"It's not a physical contact thing, it's a presence thing." Damien said. "Sometimes. Normally, no matter how close he is, I can still see things fine."
"They say I should be able to control it." Alex said.
"You must reach inner zen, Alex."
"Yes, I have to become some kind of superfocused monk. Ascetic and bald and everything, like those guys back on earth."

You and Alex run through the halls, but as you've always been, you were much fitter than Alex was. Sarvesh and Damien followed, the latter sitting on the former's back.

Then Alex tripped over summer in the hall, and went bowling forward. You caught him, easily.
"Oh no, I'm so sorry!" Summer said. She was currently holding the pig in her paws.
Then you give him another grin.

greetings sarvesh; don't worry bout the voice in your head, we aren't jilly, just a wandering cloud of consciousness watching you all

at the first opportunity would you lightly smack Alex and Damien? what they did to Heather was rude
>>
>>23914418
not important as we know that it is
>>
>>23914387
What happens if you teleport and object INTO an object, Sarvie?
>>
>>23914410
"Rarely, if ever. I prefer to spend more time on spacetube."

>>23914418
"... Yes, yes it is. It needs to be, due to the shape of a female's, er, rear."

>>23914438
"Those are the issues that the entire UPA Councillors met, for. It's been judged that each AI is considered a member of whichever race they were created by."

>>23914448
"Not for the most part. It's more similar to static. All of the stars, meanwhile, are ultraviolet."

>>23914451
"I would, but I don't want to start a wargame, as neither Damien or Alex can moult, so they would die."
"Also, I snuck a look too."

>>23914479
"They get... glued together. You can't separate or wiggle either object in relation to the other."
>>
>>23914387
Did I do you justice? Who should I write up next?
>>
>>23914521
How many centaurs are in your subtribe? How is leadership for your subtribe done? Are you in line to the role?

Have you considered how consummating a relationship with Heather would actually work?
>>

>>23914521
in humans it's a common gesture; it won't start combat unless you hit them hard enough to knock them over; unless it triggers an aggression response

THERE WAS PORN!!???!?!?!

WHERE???

What would pursuing a relationship with Heather mean for you, in terms of tribe politics?

Have any males fought and/or moulted over your sister?
>>
>>23914521
How dexterous and flexible are your mandibles?

How many ducks could you take in a fight? How many people, armed with clubs, could you take out unarmed?

Do you like it when Heather takes a seat on your abdomen?

What are sexually attractive features among your people?

>Did I do you justice?
"You did do me justice, yes, though I feel compelled to mention that male centaur have an erogenous area in the socket the male specimen's penis sits in when not in use. It's also where the lubricant glands sit."
"Not that it's relevant, but that's how homosexual relationships work for centaurs."

>Who should I write up next?
"Whoever is more titillating or amusing, I assume. Summer for the former, and... hm. Einstein for the latter. Or Asmodeus for the latter. Though if you do that, I recommend nobody let Anna see it. Ever."

>>23914578
>How many centaurs are in your subtribe?
"My subtribe is nearly a million centaurs in the city, and a few in the outskirts."
>How is leadership for your subtribe done?
"We vote every two years."
>Are you in line to the role?
"No, I'm not. Namely because I'm not currently living there, which excludes me."

>>23914594
"Yes, yes I have. I've done quite a lot of... um, call it research."

>>23914600
"They'd likely either send it home, destroy it, or vote. I'm not sure, really- I'm not a politician."

>Field too long!
>>
>>23914616
>What would pursuing a relationship with Heather mean for you, in terms of tribe politics?
"As I said, I'm not a politician. But I do know how my family would respond; My brother would be curious about her, my mother would scrutinize her, my father would hardly care, and my sister would be ecstatic over the idea. Which is why I haven't told her, because she gets... rather excited over playing cupid. As it is, I already believe she's trying to set me up with her."

>Have any males fought and/or moulted over your sister?
"She did fight a rather forward female, and moulted her, yes, and there are at least six that have fought one another and moulted. She rejected each of them."

>>23914617
>How dexterous and flexible are your mandibles?
"Very. They're roughly equivalent to your hands, but the joints are ball joints and can twist in many ways. They're more dextrous than human hands."

>How many ducks could you take in a fight?
"Theoretically infinite, or for as long as it takes until I starve."
>How many people, armed with clubs, could you take out unarmed?
"If humans, then several dozen. If centaur, then at least two."

>Do you like it when Heather takes a seat on your abdomen?
"I do, yes."

>What are sexually attractive features among your people?
"Brilliant eyes, reflective mandibles, a broad upper shoulders for males, dextrous lower arms for females, contrast and iridescence on the carapace, Wide legs..."

Other than Wargames what are some sports and games that the Centaurs play?

Would you be good at basketball or soccer?

What's your opinion on Omnissiah?

Do centaurs play sports?

Do you get on well with Summer? Would you consider dating her, if she had feelings for you?

You could always eat the defeated ducks for food.

Does seeing Heather in her workshop tinkering away with her nimble fingers get you hot?

What's your all time favourite movie? What is it about?

Can you pat your head, rub your tummy and scratch your abdomen all at once?

because he as good as confessed his feelings to her several chapters ago
>>
>>23914938
"I have both. My lower arms, fully unfolded, are flexible and long enough to reach underneath my abdomen to grab my rear ankles."

>>23914967
"As I'm given certain non-canon meta-knowledge for these interviews, I can tell that you're all participants of whatever this quest thing is."

>>23914985
"... Centaurs cannot become inebriated or high by any known means, save blood loss."

>>23914955
"I don't mind if anyone stands on my back, but I do prefer some people, yes."

>>23914992
>Other than Wargames what are some sports and games that the Centaurs play?
"The galaxy is a large place. Many centaurs play many different things. The people in my subtribe, though, tend to like board games. There's also a small curling league, though I've never played."

>Would you be good at basketball or soccer?
"I believe so, yes. Four legs and long arms are a rather good thing. Though I would be unable to jump for basketball."

>What's your opinion on Omnissiah?
"It's interesting. He? Her? It is interesting and seems to have many questions for us. I would do my best to answer them."

>>23914996
>Do you get on well with Summer? Would you consider dating her, if she had feelings for you?
".. I do get on with her rather well, yes. And she is very fuzzy, and makes for a beautiful centaur and attractive human. I would never normally date her, but If she had feelings for me... I think I would."

>You could always eat the defeated ducks for food.
"I could, yes."
>Field too long!
>>
>>23914996
>Does seeing Heather in her workshop tinkering away with her nimble fingers get you hot?
"... It's more when she gets covered in the grease and oil... but yes."

>What's your all time favourite movie? What is it about?
"My favorite movie? I haven't put much thought into my favorites... I'd say Battle On The Hill by M'klzkt, about a centaur who is trying to stop a battle between two medieval human armies. They see him as a demon. It's rather hilarious."

>Can you pat your head, rub your tummy and scratch your abdomen all at once?
Within the interview room, Sarvesh stepped back. his lower arm going down to scratch the underside of his abdomen, while his other lower arm started patting his head. His pincer twisted back to rub his tummy.
"Yes."

>>23915030
>What is your opinion on puppies?
"Puppies? Hm. They're dogs that grow up, aren't they? I don't have much of an opinion on them."

>If you had a pet, what would it be?
"... A turtle. I like turtles."

>>23915068
"... I don't like the idea. I refuse to elaborate."
>>
>>23915258

Can you change your sleep cycle?

Is your arm moved through direct hydraulic control like the rest of you, or is it a separate system with it's own fluid and power supply?

How do you feel about the inevitable Sarvesh x Damien slashfic?

>>23915514
That's a point, how do you plan on exploring the universe, Sarvesh?

You can't really expect Heather and the others to take you around forever.
>>
>>23915528
He might just get good enough at Teleporting that he doesn't need a ship.
>>
>>23915258
How does centaur healing work without moulting? I seem to recall you mentioned that if you have not moulted in a while you heal faster? Why is that?
>>
>>23915528
No matter how much you wish.
>>
>>23915528
Are you kidding me? The academy is totally going to get destroyed someday, and then Heather will become a pirate warlord and lead everyone around as part of her piratical crew.
>>
>>23915381
>How hard is your arm to maintain?
"Not very, actually. It has extensive diagnostics built in, so if it needs maintenance I can find out exactly how. Pheles helped me with it."

>What are you opinions on the rest of the students? What about Max?
"Max is rather kind, though his instincts take over quite often. Alex... is a bitter young man. Jilly's rather friendly, but she takes offense easily. Anna is... almost the opposite. And the least said about Damien the better. I've already said how I feel about Summer and Heather - that one is a close friend and the other, one I vew romantically."

>What are you planning on doing with your share of the money?
"Save it until I need it."

>>23915393
"I- uh-"
There was a pause as Sarvesh's brain short circuited.
"Uh."

>>23915398
"Try as I might, I can't like polycarbon six. It's... too sugary and meaningless. I prefer classical music. I want to learn the piano."

>>23915435
>You can't jump?
"Not in anything more than point three G."

>You said that Not moulting takes constant effort for you, how do you not moult when you sleep?
"It's... more similar to... hm, to ejaculation, I suppose. You get close when the sensations start to amp up, and it takes incredible effort not to, until the feeling fades. I still have a low level amount of pain, though, which is deep enough to bring up a weak moulting impulse."

>Can you change your sleep cycle?
"I can, yes."

>Field too long!
>>
>>23915435
>Is your arm moved through direct hydraulic control like the rest of you, or is it a separate system with it's own fluid and power supply?
"It actually uses a chemical cell power supply. And it's the latter."

>>23915491
>Do you have any plans to build a ship of your own, similar to what Heather is doing?
"Vague plans, yes, but it has to wait until after schooling is complete. My power is teleportation, though, so I may well get good enough with that that I do not need a ship."

>What weapons have you used in your wargames?
"... Weapons? We have pincers. Centaurs have not developed weaponry for a reason."

>>23915514
"... Many, many things."

>>23915528
"I can't? Who knows, maybe they will. And if they don't, I can always go on my own."

>>23915564
"A centaur body produces quite a cocktail of vitamins, supplements, stem cells, etcetra over time. Various moulting organs are everywhere within a centaur body that holds this cocktail in preparation for a wound. Moulting is when the cocktail is released through the body... but if it builds up enough, then any excess cocktail enter the bloodstream, hydraulicstream, or moultstream."

>>23915573
"... I'd like to be the navigator. Or, if Anna is the pilot, then I suppose I'll be the one with the eyepatch. The demolitions one, of course, part of the boarding crew."

>And that's that, for now! Maybe in a few days you'll get to interview someone else!
>>

Thanks, Big E.
