Welcome to Millicent Fauxly Quest.

>Before Millicent arrived at Hogwarts she was a prized daughter in a pureblood wizarding family. She has little knowledge of the muggle world and doesn’t show any fascination for it.
>Hogwarts has changed Millicent in ways she didn’t expect. She thought she was going to be a Slytherin like her bitter rival (who has become a friend) and older sister, Maud. Instead she was placed in Ravenclaw house, something which has disgraced Millicent and her family in their pureblood social circles.
>The best easiest way to roleplay Millicent is ‘Raven’ from Teen Titans, this was purely by the actions of those in the quest (and a happy one at that).
>Millicent likes to be left alone to her own devices, she has a competitive streak but also a yearning for the contact and approval of others despite what she may tell herself. She likes to be centre of attention when she has earned it through being the best at something, not out of fame or through an embarrassing incident.

Major Character Traits:
>Millicent seeks approval from her father above most things
>She has a fear of large bodies of water
>She is best friends and can tell Olivia anything

New comers are more than welcome. Previous threads can be found here: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?searchall=millicent+faux

“I hate spiders” you say, an image of being attacked by hundreds of the little creepy crawlies filling your mind. You ask about the holes, though you have a pretty good idea of where they come from anyway, you want to hear the tale he’s going to spin.

You remember that he knows that you’re involved in some kind of contest, and that the other students have dropped out. You better choose your next words carefully.

Bergle scratches his chin, you notice that’s he’s forgotten to wash away some of his shaving foam from this morning. Goddammit, I don't want Joel to be right again.

The question is, what do we do about it?
>>
>>24129736
I thought it was obvious. There you go I spose.
>>
>>24129745
I was thinking of directly asking Nathaniel about what he knows about Bergle, or cunningly getting Trib to talk about her school-years somehow to perhaps get some hints on what happened.

But a hex is fine, too, although I think having a first-year go against an adult sounds dumb... Unless we sneak up on him.

And what'd we do with him after casting and maybe succeeding in our spell? Some preparation is in order.

I presume it was Bergle the mysterious figure in the woods we fought against, unless there's another person involved?
>>
>>24129827
I wouldn't suggest going up against a teacher. You might have been able to fight Elfs but an adult is a whole other thing.
>>
>>24129827
Besides talking with Nathaniel, we need to get evidence of Bergle's actions. And I don't know about Trib, she might be in on it.
>>
You’re hit with a sudden gut wrenching clarity. It was Professor Bergle who had knocked you out that day and tricked you into revealing all you knew, which thankfully wasn’t all that much.

When you spoke to the Ravenclaw Door she had told you the two things she smelt were 1) Freshly cut grass and 2) shaving foam.

Who would be around freshly cut grass more than Professor Bergle? It’s his job to teach students how to fly throughout the day. It couldn’t have been Mr. Gleesan because you had seen him asleep in his shack before you entered the forest.

“Something wrong, Miss Fauxly?” asks Nathaniel, his voice showing real concern.

After pursuing our enquiries regarding Mr. Bergle, we should ask Nate about Professor Trib as well, probe out his and Nate's thoughts on her, since she might very well be involved.

Also Millie should check her surroundings to make sure they're not being eavesdropped. I mean, Bergle just left.

You turn to Nathaniel and whisper a question.

”How well do you know Professor Bergle? I saw that you were in the same class in school” you say.

Nathaniel looks to the students who are walking over to the broom shed and looks at you from the corners of his eyes.

“We’ll speak about this some other time” he says “…look after yourself”

You waste no time in approaching Joel, Olivia and Nigel and bringing them under the arch of the gardens which lead to the outer field. You tell them of your suspicsions when you’re certain the coast is clear.

“I’m going to tell the Headmaster about this” you say, looking to the trio who have gone silent and pensive.

”Are you sure that’s a good idea?” says Nigel “What if he’s been the Headmaster all along?”

Olivia remains silent.

well, of course we should tell everyone, so they can tell everyone else in the entire school.

wait, that makes no sense. oh well, we already did it, hopefully it doesn't get back to Bergle that he's been found out so he has time to prep defenses and junk.

Once we're done with checking on the headmaster to see if he's being impersonated by Bergle we ought to find Nathaniel's haunts and track him down this evening to get some more about trib and bergle out of him, i mean.. it IS "relevant to the making of the mannequin".

Also, we need to send Joel out "shopping". What should we put on our grocery list?
>>
>>24132189
Well, if we know that it's Bergle and we assume he's not working with anyone...

I'd talk to Trib. She's in the photo with Nathaniel, she broke an unbreakable curse, I think she knows something. And if we can't get to the Headmaster, she's likely our best bet.
>>
>>24132677

We know Bergle is working with house elves though (at least). (i think the "humans can't apparate on hogwarts grounds but house elves can because their magic is different somehow" rule is in effect in this alternate universe too)

>note to self: acquire house elf friend or send for one from home

Also, if we're going to question anyone about what happened between those three we should ask nathan. he can't hurt us as a ghost and he's getting desperate even though he doesn't show it often (he implied he was on a time table, if he doesn't get a body soon then for one reason or another he never will)
>>
I think we should get Maud in on this.
I have my suspicions that she's being set up to take the fall for these events.
>>
>>24132976

we don't know she can be trusted.

If we keep broadcasting everything we know we're going to get burned.
>>
>>24133018
We know she can be trusted to be her.
Like if she really was the only student stubborn enough to stick with Nathanial's assignment, then she'd know about the frequent dropout rates and not need to set people up.
On the other hand, if these incidents are pinned on her, then there are grounds to ban students from ever entering the contest again.
>>
>>24133092
`
Who would attibute these incidents to a third year? If we're eleven she's 13-14, i seriously doubt anyone's going to try to pin some wave of mind control on someone so young, she's incapable of it. We're already privy to the contest anyway, it doesn't matter wether or not more people get recruited next year.

We don't even know his motives. It can't just be to retrieve the trident. There's more to this than just "tomb raiding" and petty theft.

> I'd talk to Trib. She's in the photo with Nathaniel, she broke an unbreakable curse, I think she knows something.

This is what I've always wanted to do since our last thread.

Well, we knew that the quid thief was just a red-herring. However, I get the feeling that he's involved in this in some other way that hasn't been hinted at.

Definitely.

I don't agree.

But we don't know any better.

Does Olivia know something that we don't? And she's being forced to be quiet about it? Or is she just genuinely frighten? I say she's just scared that something like this is happening. It could explain why she was was awfully quiet during that venture into the woods. Your opinions?

so.. who would benefit from the trident never being found, and nathaniel never "coming back to life", and why use maud (if she is in fact being used at all(which we have no evidence for))
>>
>>24133712
The people who killed him of course.
Or at least knew things about his death they'd want to keep to themselves.
Do you really think it's not strange that a Hogwarts student was killed and buried in the Forbidden Forest with a potent magical artifact?
As to why use Maud? Why does Nathaniel still not have a body, if he's been running this contest for years?
>>
>>24133817
See, this is what worries me. There's still a killer out there that killed a student. Perhaps the killer is a teacher or some other staff-member. Who knows.

My gut instinct is telling me that Nathaniel was killed due to EVOL. He was in a love-triangle along with Professor Bergle and Professor Tribs. She must of promised Nathaniel something but couldn't fulfil since he was killed, so she became who she is today because of this.
>>
>>24133817

>The people who killed him of course. Or at least knew things about his death they'd want to keep to themselves.

Looks like we're going to have to find someway to get this info out of trib. tailing and interrogation(lol) are the only things i can think of offhand, or finding someone else who can tell us about them. Maybe we can ask The Blind Lady if there's anyone else those three were close with in life.

>Do you really think it's not strange that a Hogwarts student was killed and buried in the Forbidden Forest with a potent magical artifact?

As near as i can tell it's not unheard of for a student to die, it's not common but it does happen. Noone knows he was buried with the trident.

>As to why use Maud? Why does Nathaniel still not have a body, if he's been running this contest for years?

She's trying to do something noone's ever been recorded doing in the history of magic. at 13 years old, no less. three years isn't exactly a huge amount of time.

>Perhaps the killer is a teacher or some other staff-member. Who knows.

Maybe trib killed nathaniel? Maybe Bergle is trying to defend her by keeping him buried so noone ever finds out.

We need to know what this unbreakable oath is. Maybe if we act all innocent like she'll just tell us. (maybe we should try asking her for help with our studies and getting it out of her in a casual atmosphere?)
>>
>>24133394

and yes, we need potions, a crystal ball, and whatever else joel can get his hands on, like the mannequin.

maybe we should just feign interest in the play til we can swipe it?
>>

Agreed. I just wonder when we'll get an opportunity.

> As near as i can tell it's not unheard of for a student to die, it's not common but it does happen. Noone knows he was buried with the trident.

Who knows if the trident even works after all these years.

> She's trying to do something noone's ever been recorded doing in the history of magic. at 13 years old, no less. three years isn't exactly a huge amount of time.

That's our Maud! I just wonder if she used her ex in order to get a few key materials for the mannequin.

> Maybe trib killed nathaniel? Maybe Bergle is trying to defend her by keeping him buried so noone ever finds out.

Could be... Would suck since she does have that curse and all. I'm still curious what she did to Joel that one day. Perhaps making him dream about us? Could explain what he saw in that dream of his. I'm surprised that we didn't ask him about the dream during that little private chat.

> We need to know what this unbreakable oath is. Maybe if we act all innocent like she'll just tell us. (maybe we should try asking her for help with our studies and getting it out of her in a casual atmosphere?)

I'm curious about her condition as well. It could be a very big land mine however.

The fact that Maud's been working at it for three years makes me think that making that mannequin is a LOT harder than you're giving it credit.

No. You're right about that. I figured that this would take about five-to-six years or perhaps, and more realistically, a life-time amount of work.

>>
>>24134348

I don't think mauds dumb, but we're smarter. Obviously.

maybe we're just overthinking it, maybe giving a ghost a body is actually easy, or there's some item/herb/potion we can use, or maybe the denizens of the dark forest know a ritual.

Hell, house elves might know something, who knows what nutty shit their magic is capable of. They don't even go to school to learn how to use it.

I know that's my issue. And I want to believe that it's easy, but really, why do so many people in the past quit after being asked to do this deed?

If we're going to the elves again, we should be prepared. They know who killed one of their own. I dunno whether they be vengeful, but I can imagine we're on their shit-list.

I check my twitter from my smart phone all the time. Twitter is pretty useful to find out when the quest is up and such. I'm doing okay. Just relaxing for a bit before doing some more spring cleaning around the house.

I don't know, I kind of suspect that the reason there's suddenly all this bullshit like attempted murder, mind-controlling people to dig in the woods, framing people for attempted murder, etc, is because Maud is actually coming close to succeeding.
Like the reason this didn't happen before is because they thought giving a ghost a body was impossible, but Maud's proving them wrong.
>>
>>24134747

The house elves won't out us because they were outside doing shit they weren't supposed to.

The one we tagged was burned to a crisp, no remains. I don't think they're going to start shit with us because of.. idk, "cultural fealty"? And even if they did out us it's unlikely anything's going to happen to us. They stand more of a chance to be booted from Hogwarts and betraying their master. They have more to lose, so we have leverage with them!

>having leverage on someone

i too would like to touch base with robert again

If he's truely alienated his classmates by not bullying us he really needs us to be his friend. If i know anything about being an awkard recluse growing up i know it's nice to at least be aquainted with someone you know thinks like you.

I say we can still befriend her. We just need that opportunity to do so. We had one a while ago, and I hope our provoking of her giving up so soon in her interests would set her straight.

Im not very invested in Harriet right now, we already have more friends than we ever wanted or know what to do with.

If somewhere down the line we do become closer thats all well and good, but for now im content to let the bratty cheerleader go on her merry way.

Nah, the idea is from the artist that drew this scene.

Interestingly, Olivia's introduction scene has her described as follows:

"She is lanky with scruffy hair and big brown eyes."

This bothers me immensely now. I need to start drawing her taller than I have so far.
