((Plans fizzled, thus questan!))
Previous thread:http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/24111163/

You are Special Agent Anon, an effeminate man tasked with going into "The World: R2" and discovering the truth behind these coma rumors. You play as the pretty boy trap Chen as the class Macabre Dancer. Deciding it was for the best that you act like a regular player, and under strict orders to blend in lest CC corp finds out about the government trying to get in the way, you take on the role of a role-player in The World. In your first foray out you were hit by some black dots and sent into a coma for a few days, and now you return tot he scene of the incident with your partner, Agent Haruko Takani playing as the Edge Punisher Durga.

You arrive at the scene you were hit by the black orbs at with Durga and note how the area's graphics have been damaged severely damaged, and that the music as well as the monsters are gone. All that remains of the ground is a sort of orange glowing grid. You keep Haruka in private chat as you discuss what happened and what you remember. Just then...

"What have we here?" A sophisticated male voice calls from behind the two of you. Turning around you see a tall, thin, blonde man clad in red and gold with a pointed hat atop his head and boots going a bit higher than you believed any man would be comfortable with. He eyes the two of you with cold green eyes before apparently deciding neither of you were worth much. "This is a strange field, isn't it? Not the sort of place two young ladies should find themselves at. There are many things in this world which are quite dangerous. State your business here."

You narrow your eyes slightly at his tone and note he has made no move to attack you. There is certainly something off about him, but you just can't quite place it.

Wat do?

[]Tell the truth about being a government agent, orders be damned.
[]Lie, "I was just trying to take my friend here to an area for training, as she is new to this business." Or write in
[]Deflect, "I could ask you the same thing. Rude to question me without even giving me a name."

You cross your arms and square your feet while facing him. "I could ask you the same thing. Isn't it more suspicious that your just came out of nowhere and asked us who we are? You don't even give your name and you expect us to happily answer your questions. Sorry but that is not how you ask someone something." You reply making him frown deeply at you.

"I am Hamelin, and I am investigating this incident here. So yes, it is my business what you are doing here."

You take a moment to think over what he said. Him investigating this area probably meant that he is connected with CC corp in some way, has some very strange hobbies. You glance at Durga before giving your reply. "We are new to this business, and I was trying to teach my friend here the ways of combat. We warped to this field and could not find any monsters or treasure. As such, we were perplexed enough to try and investigate on our own."

"Is that so?" He asks pulling out a screen from a small blue orb and looking at the two of you through it. The device makes some odd beeping sounds and displays something which causes him to sigh and relax. "You seem to be telling the truth." He nods causing you to let out an internal sigh of relief. "However this are is currently under investigation, which is why I have to tell you to leave."

((Bit slow tonight, aye?))

You decide that there will not be too many opportunities for information gathering like this so you decide to risk it. "Hey, is this caused by a virus or something? Should I scan my PC since I came here or what?"

"You ask without giving your name?" He responds, with a slight smile on his face.

"I am Chen." You reply, deciding a name would be a small sacrifice to make if it gets your some information.

"Server stability issues, nothing a user needs to be concerned about."

You decide asking more is risky and since you do not want to attract any unnecessary attention, and honestly you doubt there is much more that could be found out by just hanging around anyway, you take Durga's hand and lead her to a warp portal back to town. Once back at the Mac Anu portal room you resume your private conversation with Durga. "Looks like CC Corp is trying to get a handle on the situation at the very least. The only question is are they doing it to help people, or to exploit it for their own ends?"

"Fuck if I know, but at least now we know what to look out for. Any mention of 'server stability issues.' So what do you think we should do now?"

Before you can respond a young man and woman walk up to you. "Please take this. There will be a presentation at Moon Tree headquarters to discuss PKs and PKKs and how they hurt the system. We would very much like it if you came to it and stayed for the workshop afterwords. Please, join us on making the game a better place for everyone." The woman states handing you a flyer with a warp pass while the young man hands one to Durga.

Eh, I kind of feel like they weren't meant to be facet of the game, they wouldn't be programmed into the game, and indeed they greatly deepen the social aspects of the World.
>>
Deciding to at least humor them a bit you ask "When is the presentation going to be at?"

The young man seems to brighten up considerably at you taking an interest in their work. "It will be at meeting room 3 of the Moon Tree Guild Hall in one hour! We will discuss how to avoid scams, how to level safely, and what groups to be a part of! There will even be a recruitment station for the guild there if you want to join! You should come miss, it would be really great if you did because you are so pretty! I mean, pretty new! Uh, So pretty new you can learn a lot! Yeah, that's it."

"But is it not the nature of the world to allow predators and those that prey on predators?" You ask, finding it difficult to stay in character with these two bundles of joy nipping at your heels.

"That is absolutely not true!" The woman yells at you, making you step back a bit. "In the world there are things you can do and can't do, and things you should do and shouldn't do! It is like walking in traffic or stealing from a friend! It could easily hurt other people's feelings and that simply can't be allowed! How would you like it if some one killed you while you were just trying to have fun? Or when you were trying to work really hard at something someone comes in and ruins everything!" She rants making you feel slightly intimidated.

"I get it so why don't you just-" Durga starts but is stopped by the woman snapping at her.

"You don't get it, no one gets it and makes fun f us for worrying about other people's happiness. You have no come now, I will show you how different it is! I will show you the right way to do things and the wrong way to do things and how to tell the difference!" She snaps making Durga step back and look at you for help.

"I'm not making fun of you at all, your concern is perfectly valid. I'm merely saying that the fact that we are even having this debate, that this game allows such moral quandaries, shows that the developers included this aspect of the game for a reason.
The option exists for players to kill players, or for players to kill players who kill players, or what your group is doing, which is finding peaceful ways to stop the violence.
Wouldn't you agree that that is so much deeper than simply having player characters be unable to damage other players?"

Okay, yeah, these guys are clearly part of a cult. You smile calmly and nod your head a few times as she continues ranting before seeing your one chance. You grab Durga's hand and run toward the door. You hear the boy shout for you to wait, but you refuse to stop. You manage to run all the way across the bridge before you stop. You look behind you and breathe a sigh of relief when you notice they are not following you.

"What the fuck was the matter with them?" Durga asks causing you to shake your head.

"I feel it's for the best we stay away from the Moon Tree people as much as possible for now." You inform her as you look around the town square.

Just like before in the center of the square is a large fountain with players stalls lined up around it. Lining the walls are also shops with different guild merchants hocking wares. You notice that there are fewer people online this time than before so the merchants are not being as aggressive. Just like before there is a path to the left and one to the right leading out of the square. You think you can hear the sounds of a frenchman coming from a throng on people to the left, but it could just be your imagination.

At a guild shop called "Canard" you manage to find a greatsword for sale which is a little bit better than the one Durga currently has. After a bit of persuasion you manage to convince the guy to sell it for less than it is worth. It costs you everything you have, but you are pretty sure it is worth it. You present her with the item.

"You know just the way to a girls heart, don't you?" She jokes before swapping out the equipment. She looks around the square before whistling to herself. "You know, I have heard about the whole total immersion thing being all the rage with the M2Ds but I had no idea just what they meant. When we were teenagers we had to deal with cellphones and laptops, and now people can just walk around with these glasses on and be in a whole different world. Sorry, I was rambling."

A level 5 area, you felt confident you could handle it and sort of power level Durga up. You look at the quest objectives and see that the mission is to get to the beast statue. Having to drag Durga around does hurt a bit, her inability to understand anything beyond the most basic of commands hurting you early in the battles. After finally figuring out that her only job was to hit things really hard she seemed to get into the full swing of things. You manage to clear out the enemies and find the three symbols, which then unite into one. You luck out and level just before hitting the beast temple. Before going inside you hear the sounds of combat from behind the temple.

You could go in for the treasure, but there is no guarantee that that the people will still be behind the temlpe when you come out, or you can go behind the temple and see what's going on.

The pair of you stealthily make your way to the back of the temple where you see a trio of players surrounding a squat beastman. The leader of the group is one of those annoying brooding bishonen types. He has long dark hair with bangs which cover his eyes and make you want to go into a rant about line of sight. He is wearing some sort of tight leatherish outfit and is holding a gun. He has his arms around a pair of scantily clad women, one of them with long cyan hair and thigh high heeled boots. The other a dark skinned girl with short white hair and a corset looking device and bikini bottoms. Neither of the women seem armed so you can only assume they are Tribal Grapplers.

"All you have to do is lick my boots clean or we PK you like we did your friends." The brooding emo boy commands causing the dark skinned girl to laugh.

"You are so bad, that is why I love you Deevon" The woman coos, making you momentarily wonder who would name their character 'Deevon'.

"N-no!" The beast man refuses causing the long haired woman to kick him in response.

"Seriously, I am doing you a favor. You can be my personal lap dog and everything, I will even throw you my scraps." He laughs causing the short haired girl to squeal

"Wow Deevon, you are so bad." She repeats.

You give a glance and a nod to Durga who nods back readying her sword. You get into the best position you can and note you only have a clear shot at the short haired girl. Silently Durga charges at the short haired woman, ending her charge with a leap and a spin, turning the edge of her sword in a perfect arc to go for her neck. You pull out your fans and cast a debuff less than a second before Durga's blade connects, not even giving the woman a chance to cream before her head is neatly taken off. Deevon manages to spin away from his former groupies body in time to avoid a quick follow up attack by Druga. You circle around to the side of the fallen beastman and note he seems to have a staff, making him likely a cleric.

"Y-y-you c-came to h-h-help me." He stutters, likely a speech impediment judging from the tone he takes with it.

You are about to reply when Durga beats you to the punch. "Where chivalrous men and women do battle against the forces of wickedness and debauchery, there shall always be allies!" She proudly declares taking a combat position in front of the two of you.

You give a reassuring smile to the beastman before turning to face Deevon.

"Well, you two are quite the tomboys, huh? I like 'em when their feisty, makes 'em way more fun to break. Why don't you come over here and I can show you a great time." He smiles making you frown a bit.

70 vs 11

With a battle cry, the likes of which would give Odin pause, you jump forward with Durga while shouting "I have a penis!" The statement evidently having the desired effect as you are able to close in easily. He slashes down with the bladed edge of his gun but you are able to easily catch it and deflect it with your fan. You hold his gun to the side and jog forward as he attempts to back pedal away from you while slicing at him with your other fan.

You attempt to hold him for a perfect 1-2 combo kill with Durga, but the silent woman from before lunges towards you and you have to back off for a moment. You calmly pace for a few seconds, eying the pair of them like a predator of some kind before debuffing the both of them and letting Durga charge. She is able to push Deevon back with support from the beastman while avoiding the silent grappler's blows. You notice a pattern in her strikes and decide to try something out.

You wait until she is driven back by one of Durga's blows and attack her from the side, quickly getting under her defenses and running a bladed fan edge across her throat. She is able to gurgle bloodily for a second before falling to the ground dead.

Seeing his final companion taken down Deevon lets free a howl of rage and points his gun at you, clearly resolved to take you with him even if it costs him his life. Just as he finishes taking aim however the beastman shouts out a spell name and Durga's blade slashes down on his forearms, the chainsaw like blades on the side grinding his arms to pulp and separating his hands. He has only a moment to look confused before a follow up attack liberates his head.

The three of you stand there for a moment surrounded by the dead before the beastman breaks the silence. "W-w-wow how did you -d-do that? Th-th-they were in their teens! T-t-that was amazing!"

"What happened here?" You ask, deciding it would be best to finally figure out what was going on now that you killed everyone who was trying to kill you.

[x]Go down the bridge into the palace

Gotta investigate everything and have immature arguments with people on the Internet.
>>
You decide to walk into the palace itself. The entryway alone is massive and the interior seems even bigger somehow. You look around and notice a few people walking away from you towards a hallway of some kind. You follow behind them with Durga and can not hear them talking, thus you assume they are in a private chat of some sort. Or sexting, kids still do that, right? They turn into an auditorium hall which you see has quite a few people. Deciding to investigate a bit more you walk down the hallway passed it and find yourself wandering the halls aimlessly. You are Durga do not find anything suspicious, it seems they keep their 'Use Black dots to take over the world' plans elsewhere, if they have them at all anyway.

You turn to make your way back and find yourself face to face with a ninja. You both stand their awkwardly for a few seconds before he breaks the silence. "Why.... here?"

"Ah, we got a bit lost. Could you tell us where the talk thingy is supposed to be at?" You ask giving you best smile.

"Not... here." He replies helpfully. You finally understand why some people have issues with roleplayers.

"We can just show ourselves out then, no problem, ha ha ha" You try to walk past him but he grabs your arm and stops you. You think he is about to strike, but instead he indicates for you to follow him.

You and Durga give each other a glance as you are led to the lecture hall where you grab a seat and wait.

After about a minute or so a young man steps onto a platform and begins speaking.

"I am the first division captain Tsukino, and welcome to Moon Tree, let me begin by telling you the history of our guild and..."

If there's anyone with blue hair and red eyes though, we nope out. Last thing I want is to be brutally murdered in an elaborate ceremony to commune with the immortal spirit of Rei Ayanami. Now if it was the immortal spirit of Yuki Nagato. . .

Better than our creepy Koreaboo sister. We still need to figure out a way to get her into GOOD music.

THe hour and a half long presentation was fairly straight forward. Moon Tree is a guild with well over 15,000 members, each member in one of seven squads with each squad led by a captain. Each captain is free to run his squad how they wish, with some acting as medics, others patrolling for PKs or PKKs in fields, some working to recruit for the guild and many more. They believe in the rehabilitation of PKs and PKKs as well as peace and harmony in the world, but you find it a bit odd that they have a standing army. They do not actively participate in guild warfare, and the only other guild large enough to be an equal threat to them is called Kestral, which they claim to be a den of villainy. The rest of the time the Tsukino spent lecturing on the evils of Player Killing or letting another member lecture on that topic.

The presentation ends with a call to join up and help restore peace to the world.

You notice that Durga stopped moving at some point during the lecture and you shake her avatar a bit. When there is no response you send her a quick text on your phone and sure enough she comes back. "Sorry, I can barely stand those during work, let alone in a game. Learn anything?"

You tell her you will explain later and move to leave. As you make your way to the door a woman stops you. "Would you be interested in joining our organization? You would be more than welcome in my squad 5." She states. You look closely at her and recall her being up on the stand with the few other captains who showed up. She is wearing a traditional Japanese kimono in yellow and has dark black hair with fair skin and almond shaped eyes.

Be diplomatic. Perhaps flirt a bit with the crazy lady, albeit in an appropriately formal manner.

"The chance to spend more time with a woman as amazing as you is perhaps the most difficult offer I have ever had to turn down, but I am afraid I can not commit to anything. Please let me think it over." You explain.

You move for the door again when she grabs your hand and holds it firmly in hers. She looks you in the eyes before replying "If you ever wish to join us just ask for Kazumi of squad 5." She lets your hand go and moves to go talk with the ninja who caught you earlier. You decide to beat a hasty retreat and make your way to the chaos gate once again.

You warp to Mac Anu and stand in the familiar gateroom with Durga. "That was certainly something." She finally says causing you to nod in reply.

"They are some sort of crazy, though I don't know if they are the sort of crazy we are supposed to be looking for. Now, I promised you a trip to the arena area, right?" You ask activating the chaos gate and selecting Lumia Cloth.

The two of you warp to the middle of a platform which connects to a flight of stairs which lead to a massive arena. Around you a large number of players are mulling about. Apparently the "emperor" is going to defend his title from someone today. You glance over and you see the tri colored trio you saw before being hit by the black dots standing by a booth talking to a merchant.

Wat do?

Yeah might as well.
So far today, we've haven't really had many good experiences with other players, so it'd be nice to interact with people who aren't crazy or evil.
...Really hope they aren't crazy or evil.

She wants it.
But we must determine if she is worthy. How fat was her bottom, OP?

You decide to try and get friendly with the trio of players you saw before, at the very least they can't be worse than everyone else you have met so far. You make your way over to the merchant stand and think about how to approach them when the green one, Pine you think she was called, starts grumbling. "Shit, if these guys take on the champ then how much longer till we get our shot? We are climbing in ranks but it doesn't seem fast enough."

"Come on, I'm sure Lotus has a plan, right?" Rose turns to look at at black clad warrior you did not have a chance to catch the name of. "I mean, she made this all female guild just for the arena so I am sure she has been thinking about it really hard."

And there's your in. "Ah, excuse me." You raise your hand to them and try to seem as non threatening as possible. "Arn't you Rose, Pine, and Lotus? The Three members of that one guild that only lets female arena rankers in?" You ask trying your luck.

"Ah? Yeah, that's us. You want something?" Pine asks scratching her head.

"Wow! I was just telling my friend here about when you three broke into the top hundred rankings like a storm! It was really cool~" You try adding that weird sing song quality to your voice you heard one of your ex's make when ever she was trying to seem cute.

Durga seems to catch on and nods her head. "Yeah, I hear you guys are one of the teams to watch out for this time around. As an aspiring arena ranking, you really inspire me, both of us really. All female arena ranker's should show the type of dedication you three do."

(1/2)
>>
At this Pine seems to puff out her chest in pride while Rose just gets flustered. "Ah, no, we still have a long way to go and there are countless things we need to work on, so it is really nothing to get too upbeat about" Rose stammers trying to hide her embarrassment.

"Hey, can I ask you a favor? We are going to watch the Emperor battle and I was wondering if you could watch it with us, point things out, tell us how you would do it, that sort of thing. It would really mean a lot." You tilt your head to which Pine laughs.

"Sure, sure! Hey, you don't mind, right boss?" Pine asks while looking to Lotus.

Lotus stares at you for a few seconds, her eyes feeling like they are boring holes into your body before she simply nods, never taking her eyes off you.

"See? Come on, let's gt some good seats!" Pine laughs throwing an arm around you and leading you towards the arena.

You notice Durga sent you a private message which you open. All it says is "Way to go brown-noser. Let them show you the strength of their GRRL power. lol"

They lead you to a row and indicate for you to sit down. Where do you sit?

[]Next to Durga, let's stay as far away from the trio as we can who cares if it seems odd
[]Next to Pine, She is the sort I get along well with
[]Next to Rose, She probably won't say anything
[]Next to Lotus, Go into the tiger's den if you want their cubs

You make your way past the others and sit next to Lotus. She widens her eyes slightly in surprise before simply nodding and looking at the arena. You decide that the silence is unbearable and decide to strike up conversation. "So, what can you tell me about the emperor? How powerful are they?" You ask to which she calmly ignores you. You turn your head back to the arena then hear a reply from your left. "No one can beat the Emperor. Not as he is. He has a certain quality which makes him impossible to be taken down by anyone but me."

You turn to look at her but notice she has apparently decided you two have spoken enough. From behind you, you can hear Pine and Durga laughing about something. You really should have taken a different seat...

The arena lights dim and you hear an announcer come on. You look over and see and overly large black man with an insanely large afro hold a mic.

"Hey there you arena goers! Welcome to the fourth challenge to the emperor's crown! In the challenger's corner we have the beasts of the east, the kings of carnage, the judgement of Solomon, Teeeeeeeeaaaaaaammmm Gilgamesh!" The team walks out onto the circle and seem to get a good number of cheers, and a few boos from Pine's general area.

"Aaaaaaaaaand in this corner, we have the untouchable king, the man with the plan, my friend, my man, heeeeeeere's Raum!" To this there is an insane amount of cheering which cause you to look down. For a moment you think you are looking at Cousin It from the Adam's family, but when the camera zooms in you see that is is just a teenage looking boy with black hair that goes over his face and goes down to his ankles. He is standing slouched over and has two chipped and broken swords in his hands.

You are about to ask if he always goes it alone to Lotus when the gong rings.

Team Gilgamesh seem to have good support, constantly bobbing and weaving in order to avoid any of the few half-hearted slashes Raum seems to send their way, but something about Raum makes him untouchable. Almost like they are chasing a shadow.

Suddenly something weird happens. Raum lets out a deep sigh of breath and a light green aura covers his body, which makes your head hurt just looking at it. He suddenly lets out an animalistic scream and then standing in his place is a large form, like a child wearing a bed-sheet as a ghost gone horribly wrong. It is covered in bandages and belts, with blades coming out of its left and right arms. It seems to shimmer in place for a few seconds before vanishing and appearing elsewhere. You can't hide your shock at what you are seeing as Gilgamesh just stands there as if nothing is happening at all.

In an instant those large blades shimmer and slice through the enemy team causing them to fall to the floor like puppets with their strings cut. The crowd erupts into a cheer as you try and figure out what you just saw.

You notice Lotus seems to be staring intently at you.

Wat do?
[]Talk to Lotus
[]Get the fuck out of dodge
[]Your head really hurts, try focusing on that

Well well well, looks like we made the right call sitting next to her.
She sees it, and she knows that we see it too.
Looks like we just found a lead.
>>
>>24143353
>[]Talk to Lotus
"Did you just see what I saw?"
>>
That was different. That was very different. You had no idea the game could do that, was that the Rengeki think you heard so much about? An awakening maybe? Why, exactly does your head hurt? You look at Lotus and find she is still staring at you. "Well, that was an interesting fight." You tell her, but she just continues staring at you.

"What was that weird light technique? It just flashed and they fell down. If we can't get around that, then there is no way for us to become the champions, huh?" You hear Pine grumble which makes you raise your eyebrows in response. Wait, what?

Lotus grabs your arm and storms out of the arena drawing some stares from the others, but she makes them back down with a glare. She pins you against a corner and glares at you with a furious expression. "What the hell are you?" She demands.

Wat reply?
>>
>>24143555
"I don't know. And that scares me."
>>
"I don't know, and that scares me." You answer honestly, or at least half honestly.

She continues staring at you for a few seconds before crossing her arms and frowning even deeper. She thinks something over for a few moments before she nods. "I will be in contact with you soon." She tells you after giving you her contact details. She turns and leaves Pine and Rose following behind her asking what happened.

Durga comes out shortly afterwords and looks you up and down. "What happened?"

[]Tell her about the weird ass thing you saw.
[]Hold back, you don't know enough yet.
[]She wanted my body and I said no. She did not understand no meant no.
