Wiki:
http://1d4chan.org/wiki/Blatant_Fetish_Quest

Previously on Blatant Fetish Quest, our protagonist, Max Power, learned that 'he' was actually a female with male genitalia, as a result of having an incubus as a father. Three years later, Max flew to Romania to enroll at the prestigious Scholomance, a school for magic, meeting Liz, your new girlfriend, on the way. On arriving in Romania, you learned that the Scholomance is extremely deadly and that only half of each class proceeds to the next grade each year.

You joined the Lotus prestige society, and befriended Lotuses. Upon arriving at the Scholomance, a city-sized school hidden in a cave that's bigger on the inside, you discovered a tower and found your father chained up in the basement. You're currently trying to balance Dextra Domini, rivals, commitments to your society, relationships, and studying while trying to survive.

You're half-way through October. Your first dryad hatched and your mommy-instincts kicked into high gear. You were nearly taken out by a mysterious attacker. It's Halloween.

You just heard your mom arrive home.

What do you do now?
>>
>>24356602
Go hug her.

Then introduce Liz.
>>
>>24356602
give her a hug, take some pictures, chat.

then Trick or treat.

What time is it? Spending some time with Mom should be nicer than rushing off to do stuff.

Introductions. Pictures.
>>
>>24356602
hug, introduce Selene, then Liz, pictures, chat, and trick or treat.
>>
You head out into the main room to give your mother a hug. You find her already squeezing her granddaughter, who seems ecstatic to meet her. Your mom's in her hospital scrubs and looks tired, but happy. "This little girl must be Selene!" she declares, spinning her around. You walk up and gives both of them a hug, and your mom puts her arm around you. You forgot how much you missed your mom. "I missed you, Max," she whispers, then plants a kiss on the top of your head.

"Um... Hi," Liz says nervously behind you. She stands there fidgeting. You mother looks her over slowly, and Liz shrinks back from the attention, before your mom walks up and gives her a quick hug too.

"It's nice to finally meet you," your mother tells her. "We should talk. Here, Max, can you take some pictures of Selene? I want something to put up on the fridge." She fishes out an old digital camera and hands it over to you before leading Liz off to the other side of the room for a 'talk.'

Selene immediately starts posing for the camera, and you spend a few minutes having fun taking pictures and making her do badass poses. You finish up when your mom and Liz come back over.

"So, are we going trick-or-treating?" your mother asks. "Give me a minute to get changed and I'll be ready to go."
>>
>>24357040
>pictures on the fridge

So I'm guessing mom doesn't plan on ever inviting any normal, non-magical friends over to the house?
>>
>>24357040

express concern about how tired she looks, is everything at work alright?
>>
>>24357040
Woo. Time to hit up the neighborhood.

>>24357068
Being a nurse is tiring. I'd think Max would be used to seeing her like that.
>>
>>24357068
All nurses look tired after work, it's an exhausting job.
>>
>>24357040
take a few pictures of liz "so what did she say?"
>>
>>24357040
While mom is off changing, ask Liz what they talked about.
>>
While your mom heads off to change, you pull Liz aside. "So, what did you guys talk about?" you ask her.

"Oh, you know," she says evasively. "Normal stuff."

"Like?" you ask insistently.

"Like... 'if you ever hurt Max' and so on and so forth," Liz says, not making eye contact. "It was actually really sweet. She's really protective of you. I think she likes me now too."

What do you say?
>>
>>24357178
"of course she dose" more pictures.
>>
>>24357178
"How could she not? You're great. Now get in here and pose with Selene."

Or something along those lines.
>>
>>24357178
>evasively
> not making eye contact
Are we sure she's not hiding something?
>>
>>24357281
Well, it would be a bit much to push her on it further right now.
>>
>>24357065
Selene is wearing her human disguise charm right now. And even if she wasnt, mom can just say that you guys played with photoshop or something and the Selene wanted those ones on the fridge, too.
>>
>>24357178
Get some photos with Liz and Selene, then get Liz to take some of Max and Selene.
>>
>>24357068
Thats just part of working life, especially something as stressful as being a nurse.
>>
>>24357296
I thought it was a charm that invoked a sense of normalcy, not a disguise?

I'm not sure if that sense of normalcy would carry over into a photo.
>>
>>24357281
I think she finds it embarrassing and she is a little envious of us given he child abuse.
>>24357296
Selene's disguise charm is enchantment based I'm not sure it will work on cameras.
>>
>>24357281
We could ask her about it later when we get back to the tower.
>>
>>24357281
Seemed more like she was just embarrassed.
>>
>>24357281
Just keep in mind we'll be in her place when we visit her parent.
>>
>>24357432
Max's visit to Liz's house is going to be ten times as awkward as this.

>>
>>24357563
>>24357586

>>
>>24357600
Let's try to resolve Liz's family issues without resorting to mind altering magics straight away.

We'll make that plan b.
>>
>>24357600
Liz' mom is a magic user too, right? If she is, she might have her own mind shields up.

>>24357607
And what this guy said.

Besides. Not having her family like us wouldn't be that bad.
>>
>>24357616
I don't think it was ever said that Liz's family were magic users. I think Scholomance archmages just use some sort of magic to figure out the most hopeful students each year to offer places to. For obvious reasons a lot of those chosen are in some way supernatural or raised around magic, but I don't think it's a requirement.
>>
>>24357616
>Liz' mom is a magic user too, right? If she is, she might have her own mind shields up.
nope, Liz is the only magic in her family.
>>
"Of course she does," you tell her, giving her a smooch. "You're fantastic. Now, go pose with Selene and I'll take pictures of you two."

She heads off and does a couple minutes of posing and pictures with Selene, then the two of you switch and she takes pictures of you with your daughter. Eventually, your mom leaves her room, dressed in scrubs covered in fake blood. "Tada!" she says. You recognize them as her old scrubs, refurbished into a costume. "You ready to go?"

What do you do?
>>
>>24357637
>>24357633
>MFW she is Hermione
>>
>>24357616

What the fuck, no she isn't.

I'm just done going through the archive for this quest. It was a fun read.

>>24357643
grab a pillow case for us to hold and a pale for Selene empty it into the bag ever block or so, people give you more candy if it looks like you don't have much.

"yep, how about you Selene?"

>>24357648
only is Hermione was a sub and sadist
>>
>>24357693
Maybe they just skipped those bits in the books.
>>
>>24357693
I think Hermione was a sub and sadist it just got glossed over in the book.
She seemed the type anyway.
>>
>>24357693
>>24357716
She did marry Ron, so she was at least a masochist.
>>
>>24357734
I can easily picture Hermione bending Ron over her desk in the ministry with a magical strapon.
>>
>>24357982
Oh god so can I now

and then Ron does his little whimpering thing and when it's finished he just breathlessly says "bloody hell".

Goddamnit this is how fanfiction gets started isn't it? I promised myself I would never do that!
>>
"Absolutely," you say, heading into your room to grab a pillow case. "Let's go."

The four of you head out through your old neighborhood, trick-or-treating from apartment to apartment and at that shops that are participating. Selene bounds along ahead of you until you scold her and make her follow along so she doesn't get lost. Every dozen stops or so you have her empty her bucket into the pillow case, and she quickly comes to accept that she's not going to get any of that candy back until you've looked through it all. She's showing off her costume constantly, and nobody seems to be picking up on the fact that she looks odd - which is exactly as you intended - and she seems quite comfortable, if a bit in awe of the big open spaces. She comments a few times on the smell, though, of exhaust.

You, Liz, and your mother follow closely behind. You get caught up on the latest gossip from your mother's work. Liz answers all the questions your mom has about her - you would almost think it was an interrogation were it not for the smiles and the more-relaxed atmosphere.

The night starts winding down around eight, and you all head back to the apartment. You toss the candy bag up on the table and sit down to relax. Selene, through grabs the bag and brings it over to you.

"Please help sort it, mama!" she says eagerly. "I wanna try some!"

What do you do?
>>
>>24358094
Sort it.
>>
>>24358094
Do it?
>>
>>24358094
Sort it
>>
As a side note, as far as you know, she doesn't enjoy any non-meat/non-blood food. Her diet is mostly meat, water, and fertilizer.
>>
>>24358094
Check the candy, then let her try some.

If she likes it, great, if not, be sure to tell her she can trade it in for some delicious meat snacks later.
>>
>>24358127
Didn't we bring some?
>>
>>24358094
check it all over look for rips or openings, check seams to see if any thing was opened and resealed.

then let her try some when she doesn't like it have liz help us grab some bacon and hamburger brown it and alchemist it into jerky salami exct....

"mommy will fix the taste for you " hell lets do this before we give her any jus put some off to the side for our selves.
>>
>>24358145
I have no idea, it all got a bit confusing towards the end of the last thread.
>>
>>24358127
Or we could alchemy a good volume into well prepared jerky and bacon.
>>
So hey, when was the last time we ever got an update on Liz and Lin's sheets?

>>24358094
Get some help from Liz. I'd have suggested
>>
>>24358125
look at any jerky or weird candy like bug pops and baked meal-worms first let her have then if they look factory sealed.

Then something gummy and high in gelatin.
>>
>>24358175
asking mom too, but she must be tired enough as is.
>>
>>24358166
I thought we did, but if we didn't we're a terrible mother.
>>
Find one that look ok, give it to Selene. See if she likes it (Then proceed with sorting).
>>
>>24358216
I'm fairly certain the plan was always just to use alchemy if she didn't like it.
>>
It's gonna be so sad when she finds out she can't actually eat any of it.
>>
>>24358216
The plan was to transmute any candy she didn't like so she gets the thrill of earning it.
Do you even into trick or treat?
>>
>>24358275
gummy bears and the like are like 80% gelatin which is animal fat and connective tissue. most candy corn is between 20% and 80% gelatin with between 20% & 80% bees wax.
Twizzlers uses gelatin in there Licorice.
>>
I just realized we don't really know how one goes about learning magic for the first time.

I know we expect Selene to have a propensity towards Enchantment (I think?), but she's too young to do magic on her own, right? Is there some minimum age before someone can start learning it?

Does she have any boxes of magic, but is unable to access them yet? How does magic manifest itself in people for the first time?
>>
So um, while we're waiting for Fem, who else has considered taking the remains of Liz's ceramic spirit forge and adding it to the fertilizer for the third dryad?
>>
>>24358750
She's already done magic. We had to teach her the sensory spell to use Fap to see.
>>
>>24358750
>I know we expect Selene to have a propensity towards Enchantment (I think?), but she's too young to do magic on her own, right?
we already taught her some magic, enchantment that lets her see
>>
>>24358755
So the dryad can make spirits stronger if they put them inside of her?
Snapple, we don't want our daughter to be a whore!
>>
>>24358755
that doesn't make any sense
>>
>>24358768
>>24358772
I was confused if she was just accessing a spell we had cast on Fap, but I remembered we designed the spell for the user and all Fap is a big ol' eyeball.

Carry on then.
>>
>>24358820
It's a magical item that accelerates the maturation process of spirits.

Maybe she'll just hatch faster.

Maybe she'll learn magic faster.
>>
>>24358839
>lets not use experimental magic on our daughter.
>>
>>24358874
this, exactly.
>>
>>24358874
We already did with Selene. No idea what vampire heart or incubus jizz would do when we first used them on her.

And if something goes wrong then we have an interesting problem solving adventure, like making Fap.
>>
>>24358839
Dryads already grow up pretty fast... With our luck, we'd end up with a daughter with a life expectancy of a year or so.
>>
>>24358839
if that's what you want, then the answer is different. we make the spirit forge like liz wanted to make around the whole garden.
>>
>>24358916
Then again, is a dryad a spirit? I don't think they would exactly fit into the "spirit" definition necessary to work in the spirit forge.
>>
>>24358916
Do we have a proper garden, or it is just our dryad and nothing aroung ?
>>
>>24358902
What if it makes her mature too fast, and she dies in a month?
>>
>>24358947
That's highly unlikely.
>Liz said the forge would have reduced effects on more advanced spirits
>We're using the remains of the prototype

And even if it does, then we have a month to fix it.
>>
>>24358975
So it does nothing, and nothing happens?
And what if we have a big project due at the end of the month?
>>
>>24359013
If it does nothing at all then we've wasted 30 seconds of effort spent smashing some broken ceramics and putting them into dirt.

If we have a project due simultaneously, we will deal with it. We didn't devote the entire week to the emotion field. And we don't have to pass *everything*. Dane fails stuff on purpose sometimes to throw people off.
>>
>>24358902
Thats not experimental magic, thats experimental fertilizer. We know for a fact magic fertilizer wont kill some-

You know what, no. Fuck you, I aint be doing with this. Keep your fucking retarded comments in your pocket you derailing little fucktard, we both know you are just doing this for the attention.
>>
>>24358940
Yah, we should get some seeds or something and start the garden if we haven't already
>>
>>24359064
Not in the first year when being at the top part of the class is actually beneficial. I mean, we've only been attacked once, and that was a pre-emptive strike on Lunch's part when she thought we were going to attack her base.

Anyway, your suggestions retarded. I'm voting no.
>>
Fem has internet problems again?
>>
Ok, so y'all don't like the idea of ground up spirit forge as fertilizer.

So what about some Psilocybin mushrooms? Ad some weed too, maybe a little cocaine, and we have a walking party / garden for enchantment foci.

Lin would love her. Some cute Lin-Dryad interactions would be nice.
>>
>>24359162
and or diner and or researching what candy's have high gelatin content.
>>
>>24359242
No.
>>
>>24359242
I vote we grow edible plants instead.
>>
>>24359242
Lets just grind up Lin and use her to fertilize the dryad. That way, she will be an immortal slut and we can just find toddler Lin a few years down the road, mind drill her, and then have some delicious loli slut action.
>>
>>24359242
I honestly thought this wasn't snapple at first.
I don't know why,I just expected him to put more thought into his retarded ideas.
>>
>>24359336
Not retarded. If Sizi is planted in soil full of drugs, then her leaves would all make easy enchantment foci.

Also, if Wendi bites her on the eventual playdate, then she'll get high as fuck. Wendigo dryad on cocaine, who doesn't want to see that?
>>
>>24359336
to be fair there isn't a lot one can do with the dryad ingredients that hasn't already been said
>>
>>24359372

i opt to stay away from the wendigo dryad.

shits scary yo.
>>
>>24359242
Cute interactions no.
Lin licking the top of her head for hours on end until she starts foaming at the mouth, yes.
>>
>>24359372
Wendi would be full grown before they even have a chance for playdates, but you already knew that you faggot.
>>
>>24359496
They can still have a playdate!
>>
I hope anybody who defended Snapple in the past now realizes how fucking stupid they were.
>>
>>24359525
Honestly? He (usually) only gets like this when Fem is gone for a while and he wants attention.

He's quite a needy little slut.
>>
>>24359525
You'd think by now you could tell a joke from a serious idea, the Snapple hate crowd certainly can't seem to. Is there a particular reason for your lack of an ability to laugh at what's obviously a joke?
>>
>>24359626
Because laughing at jokes has made Max do incredibly retarded things before? Granted, we have a common sense filter now, but the damage is still there.
>>
>>24359653
If by "laughing at jokes" you mean posting

this
>>
>>24359653
>damage
Nothing bad happened.
With the bell dicking we felt stupid and had sore balls. Carl didn't give a shit.

With the jizzcream we had to say "sorry I promise to not do it again" to Dane.

The only bad thing that happened it it put a stick up everyone's collective asses.
>>
>>24359626
Because he honestly defends them and shits up the thread and would have us legitimately employ them if he had his way. If it was -just- a joke, he wouldn't have spent the last half of the thread defending his fucktarded idea with even more fucktarded logic.

And it has less to do with whether or not I think he is serious and more of I am sick of him derailing the threads every five fucking seconds with his next LOLSORANDUMB idea to spam.
>>
>>24359653
And the common sense filter will prevent any future damage. The only thing sillier than Snapple and his ideas are the dozens if butthurt posts that follows it.

Seriously, I got a good laugh out of Lin licking a drug-dryad to get high, but its a joke and nothing more.
>>
>>24359701
Bitching about lolsorandumb in a setting with the main appeal being unlimited magical freedom is retarded.

It's like bitching about there being too much water in Atlantis Quest.
>>
>>24359768
You almost finally got me with that one.
>>
>>24359768
>Bitching about lolsorandumb in a setting with the main appeal being unlimited magical freedom is retarded.

1) We do not have unlimited magical freedom.
2) "lolsorandumb" is called like that for a reason.
>>
>>24359815
>1) We do not have unlimited magical freedom.
Yes we do.
>2) "lolsorandumb" is called like that for a reason.
I was using the term to illustrate the irony of calling it such in this setting.
>>
>>24359768
Well we could try to stop doing lolrandum for a second and try to have character development. For instance we have this whole Liz childhood to take care of.
>>
>>24359701
If people would stop arguing with him so much and just laugh it off and ignore it how would he be able to derail the thread? Half of his ammunition is posts like yours.
>>
>>24359856
Femcock has a common sense filter in place now. Snapple will be ignored, don't worry about arguing with him.
>>
>>24359768

>>
You sigh, take the bag, and start sorting through the candy. You put aside anything made out of mostly sugar and anything chocolate. You're left mostly with gumdrops and gummy bears as possible ones. "Here, sweetie," you tell her. "Go ahead and try these. I'm going to trade these ones over here for ones you might like better."

"Okay," says Selene with a smile, then takes a bite of the gummy candy. She spits it out almost immediately, her foot-long tongue hanging all the way out of her mouth. "It's bad, mama."

You guess she just doesn't really like anything too sweet.

"Oh, it's okay, honey," you tell her. Your mom pats her back and gives you a questioning look. "Meat is better for you. We'll trade those for some nice treats."

Do you transmute them into meat treats or trade them for hand-cooked meat treats?

>>24359933
Transmute? Would be kind of fun to show mom.
>>
>>24359933
Do we need to transmute them one by one or do we only need to roll once for all of them?

I say we should transmute them into bacon flavored treats.
>>
>>24359933

>>24359933
Let's cook her up some treats and try transmuting a few of them for the sake of practicing some transmutation.
>>
>>24359904
But he does have an effect since he will constantly argue about why his ideas arent lolsorandumb and then bog the thread down with his arguments or his bitching when people try to ignore him
>>
>>24359992
The thing is, even if we transmute them, we don't know if Selene's digestion works differently, she might get very sick if she eats things which aren't actually meat.

"Could you help cook something for her?" you ask your mom. "I'm going to try to make some with magic, but I'm not sure how good it will be."

"Sure thing, sweetie," she tells you, grabbing Liz on the way to help her cook.

You put a handful of candies in the center of the table. You get a little lump of meat, some salt, and a bit of fertilizer for your mom's windowbox garden. Selene climbs up to watch you work.

Roll Alchemy to try to fabricate Selene some meat candies. You get a +3 from temporary foci. I'll consider the first six linked 1d100 rolls.

Right now, we can take 3 boxes of damage and live. What if we got something like +fortitude / +life / +hp /+(word for take more hits) so that we don't drop as fast.

But speaking of large-scale magical destruction, does it seem likely to anyone else that either a large amount of the natural disasters the mundane world experiences is caused by mages, or that there is some kind of organization monitoring all mages at all times? It's just far too likely for a mage to just kind of snap and nuke a city.

I was told before it takes a min of 1 hour (and that is excluding foci collection) to make an alchemy attempt in creating a foci. There is no way it took more then 1 hour for mom and liz to cook some treats. So what gives?

>>
>>24362998
Argh, no.

If you have 30% success to succeed with one roll, you only have 30%+(70%*30%) chance to succeed with two. More rolls give diminishing returns.
>>
>>24362998
To clarify, the probability of the union of two independent events is the product of their individual probabilities. In this way, the probability of n events with each probability p occuring is p^n. In this case, p is 69 faces of the die out of 100 possible, or 69/100, assuming each is equally likely. So the total probability of 16 dice with not a single success is (69/100)^16.
>>
>>24363025
>implying she isnt enjoying torturing us by making Selene cry.
>>
>>24362998
.69^16=.00264, the chance of every single die rolling a 69 or below is .264%, MATH!

And your numbers are off, it'd 30% chance of 1, 1% chance of 2, 68% chance of 0, 1% chance of -1, it works out to an average of .31 successes per die rolled.

I could pull out binomial probability to get the chances of different number of successes, but that'd take time.
>>
>>24362998
I made an error
1% chance of -1
1% chance of +2
don't cancel out they add up to 1% chance of +1
Aka, you have 30% chance of success per dice note 29% (after factoring crit fail and crit success)
So average number of successes to be expected from 4 dice rolls is 1.2 successes.

>>24363069
Thats the probability of getting 1 single success.
I counted the average number of successes you get per die. Do recall that in most of what we do we aren't after a specific number of successes, rather, the more successes the better we do.

We could just roll 1d(level + #strain foci) and the first roll determines how many points of strain we take and how many strain foci we use for a spell if we were going to do it until we drained all our resources anyway.

That way we always succeed on simple things, but there's still a chance of something bad happening, worst case it's being totally unable to use that school of magic for a couple hours.

Ya blew it again champ, no meat, just a sad little Selene and her sad useless mama who couldn't turn water into piss if she tried.

But as luck would have it Liz and your mom come to the rescue with some freshly cooked meat treats on a metal tray as if they were cookies fresh from the oven."Ohthankchrist" you let out as they come to your aide.

Liz notices the look of exaustion on your face but the unchanged bag of sweets "No luck with magic then Mistress"

What do you do now?

Oho, I almost fell for it again.

this guy has a point some times you are spot on in your reasoning. But most (or at least a lot) of the time you have some misunderstanding and propose something based on bad information that is therefor a bad idea. Then you don't listen when people explain why you are wrong.

At least Snapple is honest with his dumb ideas and occasionally has good ones.

From now on pleas try to reevaluate your assumptions and initial readings of information when people say your ideas are bad.

Sure, it makes it so that we can't fail something simple if we don't want to risk it, but the possible downside is way too much.

Edit the numbers so that it gets progressively harder to take more strain, then sure. Using up several strain foci and all your levels shouldn't be just as likely as only taking one point of strain.

It fails again, but your previous comforting holds true - maybe even serves as a tiny cautionary tale to her about trying to use magic to solve easy problems. The two of you wait, instead, for Liz and your mother to finish.

When they do, they bring over a small plate of hastily-cooked treats for Selene - namely five strips of bacon wrapped around the tips of skewers like lollipops and a little patty of ground beef shaped into a vague rectangle like a chocolate bar. Selene starts digging in immediately, and beams at everyone with her face full of food. Liz gives you a smile, then walks around with the camera taking pictures of Selene.

What, if anything, do you do now?
>>
>>24363605
Bury our head in shame until the next timeskip.
>>
>>24363605
Take to heart both the lesson of "magic doesn't solve everything and is often more trouble than it's worth" and the lesson of "diversifying our efforts can save us when one fails".
>>
>>24363605
Let Selene nom on her meat, eat some of the candy she acquired and share it with Liz. Give Liz some hugs and kisses, have a good time with our Mother since we haven't seen her for a while, play with Selene.

After some of this we can head back to the tower, put Selene to bed, and then go out partying with Lin.

Side question, how has the liquidation of our gold assets gone so far? If we have a few thousand dollars just lying around pull our Mom aside at some point and give them to her, let her know that she doesn't have to worry about cashflow anymore.
>>
>>24363605
Mouth a "thank you" to Mom and Liz while Selene is digging in.

Might as well actually chat with mom now. Ask her how's she been doing, see where it goes.
>>
>>24363605
Spend some time chatting with mom, since we haven't had a chance to yet.
>>
It's approximately 3:00 AM in Sibiu right now, as a side note.
>>
>>24363839
Then let Selene munch her meattreats then text dad to go home.
>>
>>24363859
We can spend a little more time here, talk a bit, and still get a bit of sleep when we get back. We got Selene and Liz some sleep before coming here.
>>
>>24363839
we should tell mom about how we are worried about her safety given the way our school is and that we are going to try and set something up for her so she will be safer.
>>
>>24363930
No, nothing that will make her freak out.
>>
>>24363930
Let's not, she'll just get freaked out.

I think we ought to talk to dad and Liz about the possibility of summoning up some stealthy spirit to watch over and guard her in our absence though.
>>
>>24363859
We should chat with mom first.
>>
>>24363930
>hey mom, we think you might get killed by someone who can BAMF you into the sun and you have no way to defend against
>Buh-bye, see you in winter!
>>
>>24363839
Chat with mom for a bit then head back. We did promise Lin some partying after all.
>>
Head back. its late and there is class tomorrow.
>>
>>24363839
Pinch Liz on the butt and tell Mom that we'd better get back home. Time zones and such.

Thank her for her hospitality and give her a big hug.
