Wiki:
http://1d4chan.org/wiki/Blatant_Fetish_Quest

Previously on Blatant Fetish Quest, our protagonist, Max Power, learned that 'he' was actually a female with male genitalia, as a result of having an incubus as a father. Three years later, Max flew to Romania to enroll at the prestigious Scholomance, a school for magic, meeting Liz, your new girlfriend, on the way. On arriving in Romania, you learned that the Scholomance is extremely deadly and that only half of each class proceeds to the next grade each year.

You joined the Lotus prestige society, and befriended Lotuses. Upon arriving at the Scholomance, a city-sized school hidden in a cave that's bigger on the inside, you discovered a tower and found your father chained up in the basement. You're currently trying to balance Dextra Domini, rivals, commitments to your society, relationships, and studying while trying to survive.

You're half-way through November. Your first dryad hatched and your mommy-instincts kicked into high gear. You survived a mysterious attacker. You've been perfecting your body.

Your phone just buzzed in class. You got a text from your father:

"Selene just came to me. She said that her sister is hatching."

What do you do?
>>

>>
>>24377568
Or if we simply walk out without making a point of drawing attention to ourselves. That's how it works in university, at least.
>>
"Bring me back," you text your dad. You give Liz and Lin a look, then slip quietly out of the class while Petrov continues to lecture. You're out in the hallway for only a few seconds before you're quite suddenly back in the tower.

"What's going on?" you ask your dad immediately. He's standing there with Selene.

"She's ready, mama!" Selene says, grinning excitedly. "She's finally ready!"

"Selene says she's hatching," your father tells you. "You should head down."

"Right," you agree, then start quickly climbing down the ladder until you're at the prison level. You stop at the garden plot. It's grown into a sort of tiny evergreen forest, her pod a massive egg-shaped pine cone, its scales flattened to be almost smooth. It's occasionally twitching and shaking from side to side too, something it didn't do before. You don't hear any sounds from within, nor do you see any little fingers trying to push out. Maybe she's not as far along in the hatching as Selene was when you helped her out?

What do you do?

Cheer for her, like we did for Selene.

After she hatches we should look up Norse mythology names and as ask Dad for any ideas.
That way we can use Andvera and Skathi (Max may knows this as a bodybuilder name)
also
Aslaug/Alison - daughter of Sigurd and Brynhildr, Heimer. At the death of Sigurd and Brynhild is a another really good Norse name in English

also here is a trimmed compiled list of Norse mythological names from Wikipedia.

Names in angle bracts are my feminizations. Things in () are the meanings of the names or other spellings

Gefjun (or Gefjon, Gefion)- an Æsir a goddess of chastity and fertility connected with ritual plowing
Jörð (or Jord AKA Fjörgyn) - Earth goddes lover of Odin, bore him Thor.
Skadi -was a goddess of hunting and skiing Odin’s wife.
Sjöfn - Goddess of love.
Skaði - Goddess of winter Njörðr's wife.
Snotra - Goddess of prudence.
Tree-Goddess of life.
Vár - Goddess of contract.
Vör - Goddess of wisdom.

Jotunn
Bestla [pron.: /ˈbɛstlə/ BEST-lə]- mother of the gods Odin, Vili and Vé granddaughter of the jötunn Bölþorn
Gunnloð ("battle-invitation") - a giantess
{Hrímgrímnara} Hrímgrímnir ("frost-masked") - mentioned by Freyr's servant Skírnir as he was attempting to court the jötunn maiden Gerðr
Hroðr ("famed") - friendly to the Æsir and the wife of the jötunn Hymir.
{Hymera}Hymir - husband of Hroðr father of Týr & Son of Odin. Owned a mile-wide cauldron, Thor & Týr, obtained it from him. He has several daughters.
{Litra}Litr/Lit/litur("colour") - a name borne by a dwarf and a giant.
{Mímare}Mímir/ Mim ("The rememberer, the wise one") - renowned for his knowledge and wisdom beheaded during the Æsir-Vanir War. Afterward Odin carries his head and it recites secret knowledge and counsel to him.
Rindr/Rinda/Rind - giantess, a goddess or a human princess from the east [somewhere in present-day Russia] impregnated with Váli by Odin
{Vosude/Vasada} Vosud/Vasad ("Wet and Sleety") - father of Vindsval grandfather of winter.

You kneel down next to the pod, your kneels getting all dirty, and put your hands gently on the sides of it. You can feel better now the movements that she's making, shifting an tapping in a way that wasn't obvious just by looking. "Come on," you say, tapping back as she taps at you. "You can do it, sweetie. Mama's her. We're all waiting for you."

You hear little sounds of exertion from within, frustrated little baby sounds.

Roll Soul. You get a +2 from Calm and a +1 from having gone through this once already. I'll consider the first seven linked 1d100 rolls.

The pod starts shaking more, and with a tiny scream of frustrated exertion, you see one of the scales budge. Over the next few minutes, little fingers, skin with the pale texture of polished spruce wood and finger nails like dark, smooth bark, push out around it. Soon, more of the scales start getting dislodged, until finally a large enough opening has been made for her to crawl out into your arms.

Much of her body has that same wood grain you saw before. Her finger nails and toe nails are like smooth sapling bark. Her lips, nose, and other places you would expect to be pinker on a baby transition from the gold-white of the rest of her body to a blue-grey wood with an extremely tight grain. Blue-green fir needles cover her head like hair. Her eyes are an almost startling blue, like the winter sky on a cloudless day.

She's big. Not as big as Selene is now, but a lot bigger than she was when she hatched. She's cool - almost cold - to the touch.

You look her over more carefully as she clings to you, trembling and breathing hard. The inside of her mouth - her tongue, the insides of her lips and cheeks, her gums - are an even bluer shade than her lips. Her genitals look... Normal, you think? But Selene's looked relatively normal at first too.

She's looking at you questioningly with those gleaming blue eyes. She looks confused.

What do you do?

"Hello there," you tell her, looking at her beautiful eyes. "I'm your mama. You live here now. I love you very much. Your name is Alison."

Then you pick her up and hold her tight. She clings to you hard at first, then slowly seems to relax in your arms. You hold her there like that for a while, cradling and humming to her. Finally, you feel her start to squirm. You think she might want to go find some water, or maybe explore, or even just get a better look at you. You set her down and she toddles about a meter away from you. She stares at you for more than a minute, looking you slowly up and down.

Then she starts crying, just standing there as tears roll down her face, the sobbing loud, if not as ear-piercing as when Selene cries.

What do you do?

>>
>>24379116
We just had a timeskip but most people wanted to power level the augments.
>>
>>24379135
in retrospect the ones we chose were a bad idea as the mantles would have helped us on other stuff more

Not to mention we want sanity for mind fork so we can power aug in the background.
>>
>>24379116
We can do that next timeskip, yeah. We can do some minor alchemy and conjuration projects in the meantime. We should get both Conj and Alch up one more box at least before the next timeskip.
>>
>>24379135
Which was a mistake; we should have had spellcasting as one of our priorities. We should always have spellcasting as a timeskip priority.

Anyway, we're going to get diminishing returns on augments, so we'll have to boost Alchemy and Enchantment anyway to keep up.
>>
>>24379064

>mantles
What?
>mind fork
Oh hell no.

The augs were all fine are frankly necessary if we want to start training under Alexander. We took a short-term hit to help us out long term. We can study on-screen, which is a hell of a lot less rolling than making a +3 augment.
>>
>>24379201
I agree with this. Hell, we could probably go study right after Alison falls asleep.
>>
>>24379201
>mantles
should be mental as in focus memory and calm for study and meditation.

Sanity makes mind fork safe and gets us out of this shit 3 action limit.

The augs were all fine are frankly necessary if we want to start training under Alexander
that was to get to 2 which we had last skip we went to 3s and that is IMO over kill for now.
>>
>>24379225
Agreed, hell, we should study after we introduce her around, Selene can play with her baby sister while we supervise in the same room and we can study.
>>
>>24379235
>gets us out of the three action limit

No, it won't, the three action limit is hard set.
>>
>>24379268
fem said the other fork can do actions for us lie add augs or develop spells so yes that breaks the limit it is the only thing fem said will.
>>
>>24379268
I think he's saying we can have a mind fork run around in the background learning and studying shit for us.

But it's a bad idea - mind forks are absolutely more trouble than they're worth right now.
>>
>>24379288
if we get like sanity 2-3 why are they so bad?
>>
>>24379357
>>24379288
Because its a seperate mind inside our mind. Everything we will do to augment our mind (studing/augments) after the mind fork is created will not augment the mind fork.

So we will be left with a copy of a 16 year old first year even when we reach the 5th circle.

Not to mention that creating it is dangerous too.
>>
>>24379357
It's not bad, just not worth it yet. That's a lot of investment for no guaranteed return.

Besides, Max is all about the Body and Soul right now, not so much the Mind. I would expect Liz or Lin to do it before us, if anything - Liz because she's smart, and Lin because she can be lazy.
>>
>>24379496
Well, it would still learn and mature parallel to the real Max, and maybe even develop it's own personality (depending on how we set it up), which is why the Sanity is required.

But the real problem is the augments, yeah. They are gonna get out of hand fast as we improve, and I'd rather not do them twice.
>>
>>24379552
i think any mental augs from one affect both even after forking at least that's what I recall Domino saying if i am wrong then you make an ok argument.
>>
I still don't see any reason to get a mind fork. It will help us how?
>>
>>24379614
Searched the archives and I couldn't find anything. Don't know why it would though, it's a separate mind. Maybe Fem could rule one way or the other.
>>
>>24379496
>>24379614
it's not in stasis but it also doesn't automatically benefit from mind augs iirc, it develops on its own but for either side to benefit from what the other is doing/has done the two minds need to synchronize.
>>
>>24379755
The idea is that we can have it focus on studying and learning, freeing up time for us to work on other things. It's just an efficiency thing, plus I know Yin/Yang have it set up with a different personality (their twin's), so they can confer and get different opinions on things.

Honestly, Max is already suffering from enough split-personalities as it is.
>>
>>24379821
>The idea is that we can have it focus on studying and learning, freeing up time for us to work on other things.

But that will only make the mind fork smarter, not Max herself.
>>
>>24379796
>>24379764
we could use a clear ruling on that
>>24379854
that is why you sink them probably every time we sleep would be best
>>
>>24379854
Anything the fork knows, we can get by resynchronizing with it. But it's only things the fork knows, so augs don't transfer, which is the problem.
>>
>>24379854
naah, the two minds synch so max gets the benefit of the studying, my question is how the mind fork is going to study without access to materials to study with, you know what with max being able to go off and do other things while this happens being the entire point.

All in all it's a rather poorly thought out idea at this point.
>>
>>24379892
I think the problem Fem pointed out is that most mental task work on some physical object, for instance books.
>>
>>24379892
Yeah, we're not ready for it yet, if ever. I think Yin or Yang once thought about using a golem as a housing for a fork, but never actually did it.
>>
>>24379880
>that is why you sink them probably every time we sleep would be best

But we only sleep 2 hours per day! Why should we waste so much time for so little?
>>
>>24379926
I don't think you're getting this.

Ideally: the fork spends its time learning whatever. Whenever we want, we can connect with that fork and find out whatever it was that it learned. Now we have that knowledge.
>>
>>24379892
we dont need books to do things like develop spells like the mind drill or emotion field without books they just help. And i will look for info on aug sinking.

>>24379926
the sink in sleep means that the 22 hours we and the fork spent not sleeping get merged.
>>
>>24379884
Hmm, maybe mental augs wouldn't (not sure if we've had a word of Fem on that). But the physical augs damn well should. Also, we could set up a schedule to remerge the forks with us if you don't want to go the twins' route of switching control, remember they weren't the only Lotuses that recommended forking as an avenue for growth.
>>
>>24379922

Augments are chakra/chi flow rearrangements, right? Why would a mind fork be prevented from influencing the chi flow of the body it's housed in?
>>
>>24380014
>both minds are in the same body

Of course they would apply to both.
>>
>>24380047

New idea: bind a simple mind fork to a spirit and have it roam around the school grounds to spy and learn shit for us. Near-zero effort and we mind find out some interesting things that way.
>>
>>24380154
Oh, I agree that a mind fork is a bad idea, but it's at least worth talking about, especially since some people think it's worth it.

At least some people, now educated in how it works, understand that it's a bad idea, so we maybe avoid some arguments about it in the future.
>>
>>24380172
Why bind a mind fork to it at all and not just build a simple intelligence like we did for Gaviscon?
>>
>>24380172
Why would we need a mind fork for that? We can always use the spell we taught Selene to spy with familiars.
>>
>>24380172
Awful idea. Someone captures it and then they know everything Max does.

Better to just make a simple new mind like Gaviscon.
>>
>>24380172
>spirit is captured
>enemy gains a perfect copy of our mind and memories to fuck around with
>>
>>24380202
>>24380206
>>24380209
Er, yeah, that's what I meant. Have been typing the word "fork" after "mind" far too much this afternoon already.
>>
>>24380071
Ok, we're thinking of forking very differently. I assume you're expecting a fully disting personality that we must fight to retain control of Max from (please confirm?). If so may I point you to our emotional control mind seed spell and the overt mental shackles we've placed on the Meals. I'm thinking something more along the lines of creating a Max mind clone that we full memory sync and real-time sync (put her in a dormant, fully synchronized/semi-reintegrated state) when she's not working on anything in order to prevent divergence. Not really expecting rebellion as long as we keep the lines of communication wide open.
>>
>>24380224
... That is just way too complicated for no reason.

Mind forks are not worth it, and tacking more shit on it does not help.
>>
>>24380250
Rather than a mind fork, we can take memories from others via enchantment, we've done this before.

So just summon up some spirit, make it intelligent enough to learn, bind it in a construct, and let it read books while we're out. Then absorb the information later.
>>
>>24380292
>make it intelligent enough to learn

Do you have any idea how hard this is?
>>
>>24380292
that seems a far better option, hell we can build it a good mind, designed to properly index stuff in memories and use it as a study/work resource.

it'd be our fully automated self expanding resource library.
>>
>>24380314
We can make use of Liz's project to assist with that.
>>
>>24380314
Do you? We've put zero out of class effort into Gaviscon, not counting the dildo mount.
>>
>>24380292
Hmm, not a bad idea. Heck, learning how to brute force raise a spirit/elemental's mind score should probably get us a pixel or two's worth of enchantment growth. Might take awhile though.
>>
>>24380250
It doubles our actions in any game system actions are the most basic currency of power.
>>
>>24380328
This, with Liz handling conjuration elements, and Max on enchantment, it could be done, and Liz and Max could both absorb information from it, so it would be a good joint project.
>>
>>24380349
Fem has said repeatedly that timeskip actions are locked at three, with no exceptions.
>>
>>24380314
>>24380328

You guys are talking about making a spirit intelligent enough TO LEARN MAGIC. That's a bit harder to say the least than making Gaviston learn how to fuck Liz.
>>
>>24380342
>not to hard when we first made Gaviscon he had a mind 0 then mind 1 then he started screaming.
>>
>>24380349
But you just don't learn by osmosis, you have to learn from someone or something. Meaning you have to walk your physical body over to a book to learn.

So it saves exactly zero time.
>>
>>24380330
We should shove him in the Forge when Liz is done with it.
>>
>>24380314
Less hard than balancing an entirely separate self?

You build it on the basis of loyalty and memory, have it categorize new knowledge with reference points to the previous knowledge needed to understand the new stuff, and with an easy to access mind so you can search it, read up on a subject and follow the cross-references.

Even without the construct actually understanding the new material it'd be a huge resource, and we could work its way up to full understanding.

Ok, not arguing for the utility of mind forking there, just against the perceived level of danger that seems to be assumed by some posters in this conversation. Is it dangerous? Any short cut to skill growth is going to be in the scholomance (I'm still waiting for the other shoe to drop with Dane's Living Alchemy training, though there probably isn't one). I just don't understand why so many anons are assuming that any fork will be antagonistic.

Oh, other thought, if someone manages to put a mental whammy on Max it might not be the worst idea to have a back up mind in place to reassertion control before we are used against our family and friends.

You take Alison and head up to the entrance room. Your father, Selene, the meals, and the elemental pets are all waiting there anxiously. Alison eyes them all curiously as you head up. "Everyone, this is Alison," you tell them with a smile. "She's my daughter, and a friend," you say. That last part was directed at your dad. He nods approvingly.

Selene rushes up first. "Alison?" she asks, touching her little sister's face. Alison reaches out and touches where Selene doesn't have eyes, looking extremely confused. "I'm your big sister," Selene tells her. "That means I protect you and get to show you how to do stuff."

Your dad comes up and takes her from you. "She's big," he observes with a smile. "Bigger than you were when you hatched, Selene. Cold, too. I wonder if she'll... Well, we'll see, at any rate."

Breakfast comes up to look at her too. "Oh, you're so cute," she says, touching Alison's cheeks with the tips of her fingers. Little tears are welling up in the corners of her eyes. "Little baby Alison."

Lunch just sort of hangs off to the back. The pets wander off bored. Selene tries to look at and touch her sister more.

Eventually, maybe because of all the people crowding around her, Alison starts crying again.

"Okay," you say, taking Alison back from your father. "Everyone stop crowding up around her. This is a lot for her to take in." She clings to you and you notice that she's sweating, despite being cool to the touch. You climb up to the kitchen with Breakfast and Selene close on your heels. Your dad heads off to continue work on the spirit ecosystem; he finished the basement's warding earlier in the week.

Once you get to the kitchen, you get a hand towel, soak it briefly in ice water, wring it out, and then use it to dab at Alison's forehead, temples, and back. She relaxes at that, enjoying the cooling. She might need some kind of method of keeping cool - magical or otherwise - to stay comfortable, unless she gets more tolerant of higher temperature as she ages. She eventually falls asleep, drooling on your shoulder, and Selene comes over to stroke her needles while Breakfast just watches and smiles.

What do you do now?
>>
Freya will obviously be strong, we should share with her some trainning/work out equipment. Get her to like working out early on and get the best of her fertilizers.

That said, I'd say it's about time we start teaching Selene some magic. Just some small stuff for now, to get her interested; once she's bigger and more capable, I guess she will improve her magic by herself.

we should ask Liz for help with creating an ice construct to accompany her so it can keep her cool.

We should ask Hera about this, she has experience with enviromental suits.
>>
>>24381329
Let's make her a stretchy onesie and bind an ice elemental into it.
>>
>>24381361
We could just create a temperature regulating permanent foci. Liz's collar was designed to absorb ambient temperature for power, so modifying that to cool Alison shouldn't be too complicated.
>>
>>24381329
Put her to bed. Do we have any way of keeping her cool while she sleeps?

>>24381361
Perhaps we could get that water dragon to evolve into an ice dragon, and act as her familiar?
After all, Selene has Fap and it'd only be fair to give our next daughter her own elemental familiar

here is all i could find on mind forks in the archives looks safe enough to me. The big question is do augments count as "purely mental problems " I think they do based on the table talk around it and that fem didn't correct those assumptions.

http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/23442548/#p23444617
"Will Yang be free any time soon?" you ask.

"Well, that all depends on Yang, doesn't it?" responds Yin.

"Have any of you thought up any good augmentations?" you ask.

"I think I did," responds Domino. "I partitioned my mind off and built a duplicate of my personality. I use it to handle purely mental problems while I'm busy with other things. I have it set up to periodically sync our memories and thoughts to guarantee that neither deviates too far. If worse comes to worst, I'll build my mind fork a golem body, but so far it's been pretty fucking harmonious."

"Yang and I took his concept in a slightly different direction. I have a fork of Yang and Yang has a fork of me for mutual advice and so forth. The fork and the original mind sync up when we make physical contact with each other. It's really useful for cheating on tests too."

http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/23733493/#p23742351
"Some of the older students mentioned creating copies of their own mind inside of their mind. How do you do that safely?" you ask.

"Shore up your sanity, mental stability, self-awareness - whatever you want to call it - as much as possible. The fork will need it," Carl warns.
>>
>>24381397
Bet she eats it.
>>
>>24381472
I think the water dragon is strong enough to avoid being eaten by an infant.
>>
>>24381472
not if Liz helps us wrap it in a Jörmungandr plushy for her.
>>
>>24381367
True, actually I had thought of an apology present to make for her awhile back. Basically bind a water elemental to a bracelet and force it to create a contained field of water over the wearer's body (obviously needed a lot of refinement, whatever). Wouldn't let Hera go suitless, but could have extended her time limit before needing a bath... Didn't suggest it because I thought it would be a disproportionate waste of time and resources to make up for the Sam situation she walked in on, but if we decide we're getting everyone Christmas gifts it might get the conversation rolling.
>>
>>24381471

Yeah, if Carl says that we need "sanity, mental stability, self-awareness as much as possible" then I doubt its going to be worth it on the long run.

"Er, dad, he's on the friends list for now..."
"Yet another offspring. You never did have any self control."
"This is why I stay away from my family Max. There all about as self-righteous and judgemental..."
(goes down hill from there)

You take Alison on down to what used to just be Selene's room. Selene has a new big-girl-bed that you transmuted up earlier in the week, leaving the crib for her sister. You drape the cold, wet towel over her - hoping it won't be TOO cold - and flick on the UV lamp, which she'll probably need more than Selene does, since Selene tends to eat plenty of meat instead of drinking and sunning all the time.

Selene watches her little sister sleeping for a bit, then asks, "So, she's cold?"

"Yup," you tell her.

"She doesn't like it when it's warm?"

"No, I don't think so," you tell her.

"Are you gonna make her something? Like Fap, but cold instead of looky?" she asks, reaching in and stroking her little sister's needles.

"Maybe," you tell her. "Why, do you have any suggests, sweetie?"

"Maybe mommy's dragon?" she suggests. "Is he the right kinda cold?"

"He might be," you tell her. "Why, do you think she would like that? Give him a plushy body like I gave Fap?"

"I dunno," she says, reaching up and giving Fap a squeeze. "Probably. Do I get to learn that stuff soon? Playing with minds is fun, but I wanna help grandpa with his experiment."

"Then you should see if he wants to teach you," you tell her. "Or your mommy. She's better at spirit stuff than I am."

"Mmmmm," she says. "'Kay."

What do you do now?
>>
>>24382710
