Discussion here:
http://tgchan.org/kusaba/questdis/res/69289.html#69425

You are a human-form gargoyle crafted of marble set to protect a small town on the frontier of the wild darkness. Your people are still ignorant of what you are, and rightfully so.

Knowledge of what you are would simply prove that they fear you or the monsters among them tempt your destruction.

Last night: You began your night by taking to the sky and heading to Molly Smith's house. The air was peaceful and the town seemed largely at rest in comparison to other nights.

However, you found that the child, Molly Smith, was out past the town's typical curfew for human children.

You sensed her life briefly before it vanished, and detected the form sapping life from other sleeping villagers.

Confronting the child, you find that something has taken over Molly's body. It regarded you as a friend up until your demands for it to state its intentions in Hearthson clearly showed that you were in no mood to play.

Not intending to kill the child, you advanced upon it with only your bare, marble hands.

After taking a hit, the creature cast a powerful spell of black flame upon you, immobilizing you, melting parts of you, and covering the monster's escape.

With the child gone, too far for your senses to pick it up, you are left alone, and darkened.

It is now your choice to pursue this creature blindly, inform others and seek answers, or give up the chase this night.

Awaken Gargoyle, This night is Dark.
>>
After regaining your ability to articulate, and with the "girl" fleeing, you open your wings, or rather what's left of them from that molten flame, and take flight.

Molly's house is the Smith's house.. You will check the room of Molly Smith, and her father, perhaps it will yield a clue?

Your body feels... in short terms aweful as you fly. The black fire that seeped in makes you feel... weaker than normal... and your body is still dyed black, yet slowly regaining faculty of its regeneration.

In moderate time, you find your way to the town square and the Smith house.

Time 10:45

Peering through the windows, you check on Molly's room, to find that it remains empty.

Nearby, you find that there's a fairly weak Life-force within the house. Finding a window to get a view, you find that it's Molly's Father, passed out over his Anvil, seemingly from falling asleep during his work into the night... However his life-force tells of a different story.

With how weak it is, you determine that he suffered from that creature's "feeding."

So, it either originated here, attacked Prior, or returned to feed.

Whatever the likelihood, the monster is not here right now.

You take another look into Molly's room, you could always enter the house and do some investigating, possibly pick out some weapons from the forge...

>[] What will you do?
>>
An Anon said last thread:

>We already have weapons, no need to steal mundane ones. I say we talk to the pastor about this. His extreme life-force worked well against the last life-destroying enemy. However, he might just be an awesome and highly noticeable snack for her. Either way he should be informed, we can't really do anything else at the moment.

>What I find interesting is that the creature didn't kill Mr. Smith. This implies she doesn't want to kill humans, be it out of some concern for them or because she wants to feed several times from the same individual. Either way she doesn't seem to have killed any humans nor pressed her advantage over us which should color our judgement of it.

And another said:

>Couldn't hurt to take a closer look at her father, might reveal something useful.

>cloak then investigate her father, I bet he's going to be out for a while so there won't be too much to wory about but better safe than sorry.

Lets do this.
Also, I think it may be possible to exorcise the creature out of Molly.

What?
>>
>>24385228
He confused threads.
>>
Some part of you, what you'd think would be your intuition, tells you that you should attempt entry through the front door.

With a touch, you find that the molly-creature left it not only unlocked, but slightly open after its departure.

Wrapping shadows around yourself to obscure your form, you enter the house. You hear a whisper within your own mind.

'There... Was... A child... Here..'

You creep over to the area that holds the forge, checking on the Smith that appears as though he's fallen asleep yet again at his own forge.

You sense that his life is weak, and that there's little danger that he should be waking up.

You examine his body from head to toe without a touch.

You see no real marks of any sort. You can't make out anything else of note beneath the soot and grime of his clothes.

If that monster did rob him of lifeforce, it didn't leave a mark in doing so... how... odd.

The forge however seems to be neatly put out, despite the fact that he fell asleep on the job...

>[] What area will you search?
- The Forge.
- Molly's Room.
- Mr. Smith's Room.

>[] Leave, carry on with other tasks this night.

>>24385311
Oh fuck, just remembered that we found him "seemingly asleep" infront of his forge before when we last went to check on Molly. This might not be the first night this has happened but it is certainly the first that she has gotten so... hungry or bold as it were, unless I am completly mistaken and he was just working late and fell asleep and this is actualy just happening now.

Mollys room
>>
You creep past the father and open the door to Molly's little room. Within, there's a bed of cotton instead of the more likely straw. Likely courtesy of Lady Manse due to Smith's good work.

You light a candle with a small discharge of lightning and take a look around.

At least the girl had been comfortable.

Within, you find that there are a few storybooks upon a rather finely crafted bookshelf.

There are five within the shelf, with one missing.

Five of them are simple children's story, you find that upon her bed is the bible with every single last page ripped and torn out. A piece of charcoal left beside some of the pages, and a strange circle written upon the topmost page that depicts a circle with a star within.

The other pages say things such as "No God", "The angel is silent", "WHY WON'T THE DREAMS STOP", and finally, "I miss Mommy."

Upon the walls of her room are various childish scrawlings that show a woman spewing blood from her mouth, a crying child, and a beautiful smiling woman, unlike the first. This woman has a tail, and small horns on her head.

You could not have seen all this without the light to show these marks.

Something has gone wrong with this girl, or something has it out for her.

What will you do?

>>
11:15

You turn your back to the room, and begin to leave, deciding that it would be best to speak with Pastor Clegane about this... Predicament. It is quite likely... No. More than likely that Molly has been possessed by some sort of Demon.

As you leave the room, you come face to face with Mr. Smith, standing before you, staring past you with the barest hint of red to his eyes.

Holding still, with your cloak of Shadows, the man returns to his forge, and resumes his work into the night, feeding it and lighting up the furnace once more to work hot metal.

You slip out of the house without further interruption, feeling at ease after and put some distance between yourself and the house before you take flight to the burned church.

Despite it being ruined by the fire, Pastor Clegane still sleeps there in his own chambers.

Entering through the hole in the roof, you find the Pastor kneeling before the altar, into the night.

"Ah, my... friend.. What do you need this evening? You have something to tell me of this night?"

"Yes Father, I have encountered what I think to be a demon."

Clegane rises and turns to you, his face twisting into something of a scowl," Who is it?"

"Molly, but... what do you mean by.. Who?"

Clegane sighs and paces toward you," Demons have no bodies. No hold in this world... That is because Demons lie in the hearts of Men and Women. Demons are the ones that drive us to malice, depravity, violence. While there is no god, there are indeed demons in the heart of every man, woman, and child. They do not always step into this world through us.. There are those, like yourself... As far as I know, of Gargoyles, at your core, you are demons in one form or another.. Yet without a human to feed off of their despair. I carry on too much.. Molly... Molly... That is the Smith's child, yes?"

You are silent for a moment as you take in all of what the Pastor has to say... Despite your urges... you've never... truly felt like a demon..
>>
>>24385975
"Yes, she is.
I tried to catch it but it slipped away"
>>
>>24385975
"Yes, a creature that takes life from others into itself. I have confirmed that it has taken from a guard, and the father."
>>
"Y-yes. Molly, the Smith's child."

Father Clegane puts a hand over his face," It's uncommon that they claim a child.. Her grief must have let the monster in. What was it like? Did it give a name?"

"It gave no name. She appeared as herself, yellow eyes.. It was... feeding on human lifeforce. I attempted capture, however it escaped. Is there a way that we can help her?"

Clegane begins walking out of the church, yet stops suddenly," If it doesn't want to be found, then it likely won't. We'll need to wait till it exposes itself or develops a pattern... I cannot say for sure what kind of demon it may be. Not all are exactly alike." Clegane rubs his hand against his head.

"This will be difficult, I'll need some time to think... Is there any more information you can offer?

What do you think you can offer to tell?

>>
"There was more, Father."

Clegane eyes you. "What else is there?"

"There were strange writings, and scrawlings within her room. Referring to a lack of God and Silent Angels. The monster mentioned that it had filled the hole in her heart made by her mother's passing."

"Indeed troubling... I'll need to destroy those scrawlings, that could spell ill for Hearthson... Anything else?"

With a nod, you continue," The scrawlings upon the wall seemed to show a crying child, a woman spewing blood, and another woman with horns and a tail."

Pastor Clegane closes his eyes and looks down," Molly... Her mother passed from Consumption... A horrible illness... In her last days, she had spent her last days coughing up blood. Molly wouldn't leave her side. Often, the condition is contagious, however Molly never contracted it... Neither did her father. The other villagers have been wary of them since then. They had not often attend church with the rest of this town for this reason... They've only recently resumed normal attendance. I should have seen such signs coming... I've failed in part of my duty to these people..." Clegane Clenches his teeth hard as tears well up from his eyes... It seems he takes this kind of failure hard... There's a moment of time before he finally asks," Is... there... anything else?"

"Yes. It was.. hard for me to detect the demon.. I can sense life and pull knowledge from the wind... It seemed to be undetectable by the first... As for the second, this night's wind is far too gentle."

"So... it can even elude your perceptions... That is indeed troubling... If it feeds upon life, likely, it can sense it just as well."

"There is one more thing.. Well, two. There was no father with the child's scrawlings."

"And?"

"And it cast a black fire upon me that... made me feel weak... and even melted parts of my form... My body is still fixing the damage... It was rather... extensive, yet mostly external. Just, in case it helps identify the demon."
>>
"I'll need to look through my texts of demonology... If I can get an idea, we can determine its motive and find a way to remove it from the girl... It will be determined by her willingness to have it removed however..."

"I see.."

"I will look into this. Come to me tomorrow night. We will capture this monster and restore to it, her humanity."

"There is one more thing that I have to tell you."

"Say it..." Pastor Clegane shudders with fury," And then be gone." He regains some of his composure," After all, you have people to defend.."

You back off into the faint moonlight filtering through the burned wood of the church's roof. Looking up a moment, you gauge your route for flight.

"I saw the Smith. Yet he did not see me. His eyes were red, and he went on about his work with a desolate stare. This.. may be a precursor of more to come."

Pastor Clegane closes his eyes, calming himself down. "Thank you. I will look into this. Carry on with your duty, Gargoyle."

You take flight from the church, riding up into the air.

You circle for some time as I feel out the life forces in the area, checking gentle breezes. All seems fairly well.

On your circlings, you notice that the lake once more has a gentle fog cover coming over it. It reminds you of the mermaid that you met upon your second night. You have not checked up on her in some time.

Adding it in to make magic less Overpowered. Skills that are not in the Magic trees do not cost mana.

Your pedestal is a mana collector and will recharge your reserves every night. Eating a soul will not necessarily garner a mana recharge, however they can be used for some spells.
>>
>>24387369
fair enough but now will every spell cost 2 mana (not likely) or will you have too update the magic tree with a mana cost.
>>
Spells typically cost x2 of their exp cost.

Certain predicamends may reduce the cost.

Being within a Faerie ring halves the cost of Fae Magic. Being on desecrated grounds will halve the cost of demonic, and for Primal, nothing reduces the cost, however Primal requires a roll vs DC to wield the forces of nature effectively. There are traits, such as Primal Heart that improve upon the DC. Primal situationally decreases or increases cost based on material and environment.
>>
You impart your will to the air around you, conjuring up a swift tailwind to expedite your flight.

From the town center, you arrive at the middle of the lake within minutes.

Time: 11:50

You circle down low to the epicenter of the mist, feeling a few lives beneath the surface.

You land atop a rock, momentarily considering how your senses might expand if you even had a sense over water. Playing with the idea for a moment, you observe a familiar red-head breaching the waters.

The Mermaid, Genevieve smiles at you as she pulls herself atop a rock.

"Hello there. So, you've come to pay me a visit, hmm? Whatever could bring you here?"
The woman smiles and giggles almost nervously.

You take a good look at her.

Nude from the waist up, her body is as chiseled perfection as your own might be if you were carved in the shape of a human woman. Her red hair drips wet, appearing as red as blood. The scales of her fish-tail are silver, with red upon the front and her sides.

As for her eyes, they are a deep sea-blue, with her schlera holding an almost luminous white.

Surely, if you were human, her beauty alone would enrapture you.

>[] What have you come for?
>>
>>24387541
Well we just came up to check up on the mermaid and patrol for a bit. Haven't see her in a while and all that.

Ask her if she saw or heard any news. It doesn't matter if it's good or bad. With the sheer amount of problems this town has with the supernatural it wouldn't surprise me if there was news. Just to keep our bases covered and all that jazz.
>>
>>24387541
"What am I doing here? Patrol and a little bit of business. I'll keep it short and sweet: Have you seen any unusual activity around here these past few days? Any...disturbances in the air or water?"
>>
>>24387541
Going to be honest I was expecting something to happen by itself by just showing up.

"How have you been, having any troubles... or causing any?"
>>
>>24387541
>What have you come for?
What DID we come for?

I guess we could ask her if things are well for her and her family.
Ask her if she knows of any troublemakers around or of anyone else who might need our protection.
We could also clarify to her our earlier "don't cause trouble" statement with an explanation of how we protect the people, the land, and that non-humans are also people in our eyes.

>>24387441
So, "fertile land" spell would create a zone in which you get a bonus to primal activation rolls?

>Idea
Since those whose wills are broken do not assist us in maintaining control in inner world, what we need is basically volunteers. We can make a deal we make to be binding. In essence we could have beings "sell their soul" to us so to speak when the situation is appropriate (their tribe beset by demons whom we save them from). For the explicitly stated purpose of assisting us in mind battles against chained demons within us.

To that extent, we should ask the wendigo lord HOW to make deals magically binding (he already stated that we could do so, but never explained how to do so).
>>
>>24387541
Ask her if she knows anything about demons and exorcism
>>
"I am... Patrolling, the regular business... I came here however.. to speak with you."

She relaxes rather quickly," Oh? Well then, what would you like to speak with me about?"

"Do you happen to know anything of demons... or exorcism?"

Genn shakes her head, keeping her radiant, doe-like eyes upon you," I'm quite sorry, but.. I do not. While demons tend to attack us Fae, I know of very few that live within our waters..."

"I see... Well, have you witnessed any.. trouble? Creatures harassing you, or your family? I should have clarified, Your family is also under my protection so long as you cause no harm to others in my territory."

Genn seems to appear a bit nervous, "I.. Well... Uhhh... I.. Haven't seen anything dangerous around the lakeside..." She inadvertently glances into the waters during her speech.

You sense down into the blue and sense the few lives that are like to be her brothers and sisters. "Is... There a problem."

"No. There's.." She forces a smile, tearing up a bit," There's not a problem.. at all.."

It doesn't take intuition or genius to figure out that there's an issue here.

Genn slowly nods as she speaks," There... There aren't really any other Fae in the lake besides us. Some may gather near the waters, yet... We... Are the only ones... that live in... the lake."

Do not shoot lightning!
>>
With confirmation of the threat beneath the water, your instincts get the better of you, screaming for conflict.

Your marble face turns into a savage smile," Say, I would rather enjoy meeting your family and get introduced. Let's go pay them a visit, shall we?"

You leap from the slippery rock, open your wings and dive into the water, slowing your sink with slow, powerful flaps. You manage to displace just enough water to slow your descent.

In the deep, you see six ravenous heads of wolves the size of men, a ghastly woman seated atop the manes, and below there, an expansive mass of tentacles, numbering eight. Five of which are holding onto mermaids, that begin to scramble, trying to get free at the sight of you.

The woman screams into the water, and the wolves snap, as the free tentacles move toward you, slipping through the water.

You reach for your daggers, ready to stab a demon with their silver edges however... You find that they are missing. As you push water away, you feel around, looking for the daggers, nowhere to be found.

Your belt must of burned off from the black flames... And if those flames could cause you to melt, it is just as likely it caused them to melt.

Here you are, in the water and unarmed, what are you to do?

>[] Strike straight for the woman among the maws and tentacles.
>[] Evade the tentacles and attempt to free the merfolk.
>[] Retreat, find a shore and head to land.

Submerged, unarmed, and faced with this monster, you can think of no way to deal with it except to lure it to the surface and deliver onto it a mighty boilt of lightning, much like the same that you called upon to destroy the Greater Wendigo.

Moving away the water with your slow and powerful flaps, you turn to the surface just as Genevieve drops in, looking to you, and then her family in a panic.

In the moment that she distracts you, tentacles wrap around your body, pulling and constricting your form, dragging you down into the deep.

Your strength fails you as the tentacles hold onto your wings, stopping up their ability to displace water.

Soon enough, you are dragged to the bottom, and closer to the maw underneath the woman and the wolven heads.

In the center of the twisting canopy of tentacles, you see a large crushing maw. filled with fanged teeth and a large beak.

Your struggle is futile up until the maw closes around you. The might of the jaw crushing into your solid marble body after some difficulty, a few of the teeth breaking.

You feel that this may just be it up until the beast jolts back from some kind of pain and you see that there's visible steam in the water, even for just a moment.

Taking advantage of the beast's pain, you force yourself away from the jaws. and see in the murk of the water that the other mermaids have gotten free and their once beautiful forms have changed into fish-like monsters with maws full of needle-like fangs biting into the tentacles, eliciting snaps from the wolf-heads centered around the woman's figure.

Ultimately, it seems that luring the beast to the surface is out of the question, given the mer...monsters' distraction.

You could think of a way to attract its attention, or you could call down lightning and end all of these monsters on the spot.

the woman. while she is paying attention to the merfolk sneak up to her and club her over the head with stone fists.
>>
>>24390753
Try to sneak up on her and beat the shit out of her. If we get caught in the mouth again, though, we're dropping all of our mana into lightning and cooking everything in this lake.
>>
>>24390870
Good idea. Kill and eat the woman riding it!
>>
>>24390753
Screw that idea to killing them all. Might as well try to rally them to rush to the surface then kill this thing once and for all. Once at the surface scream SCATTER and drop the lightning hammer for the kill. Use Team work and mutual hatred of this the monster of the deep to kill this thing.
>>
>>24390753
We could go to the surface and tell Genn to have them all jump onto land for a second while we fuck the shit out of the lake with lightning.
>>
>>24390986
The mermaids ARE free at the moment and ARE a lot more at home here and CAN survive on the surface. So if we can communicate with them they could perhaps grab us and make a run to the surface. We can assure them that if we all exit the lake completely then we can kill this thing without harming them.
>>
Attacking the woman at the center of the monstrosity.

Seems it has three votes.

Rally to the surface, ~2

>>
>>24391030

Monster gettin' pulped!
>>
You Descend, wrapping the dark of the waters about you as you slip through the muck with carefully timed, powerful strokes.

You dodge the tentacles that writhe about to restrain the savagely biting merfolk and make your way to the center of the beast, where the woman that seems to command the monster rests.

You make one final push with your wings to dart in and bring a stone fist across the slippery flesh of the woman, putting as much force as you can muster into the back of her head.

The woman goes limp for a moment, as does the rest of the monster.

It takes you a moment to realize, however it seems that the woman is in truth, part of the savage beast below.

With the disruption in its defense, you see the merfolk descend upon the woman, needle-like teeth open with viscous maws. They nearly reach until the woman snaps to awareness and the maws of the wolf-like heads open wide, snapping at the would-be attackers.

Taking your own chance, as the sea monster still seems to be unaware of you. You bring both of your hands together around the back of the woman's neck and proceed to choke her, while the body, not necessarily gasping for breath, but feeling the pain as the bones in the woman's neck emit a creaking and crunching sound as you squeeze more tightly with your stone body.

The beast continues to flail and writhe to no avail as you destroy the most likely for its brain.

In short time, you feel a complete disconnection of the vertebrae in the woman and close your wings around the beast to consume its soul.

The question is however... Do you WANT to consume it, knowing what you know...

>[] Yes
>[] No.

The Merfolk gather around the now-limp body, their appearances remain unchanged. Ghastly-looking half-human fish creatures...

You are unsure what to think of them regarding this new appearance and sudden willingness to attack based on a chance... What will you do?

This thing is big, dangerous, and nasty, I'd just let it die.

[X] Appearances aren't everything. Let them live.

They fought to defend themselves and their home from this monster, that is not something we ought to hurt them for. They are still our charges.

Yes, consume it.
Then we can break its will or negotiate with it.

I forgot to vote for:
Appearances aren't everything. Let them live.

Also, once again I reiterate that we should have the Wendigo Lord teach us HOW to make a magically binding contract (he stated we are capable of making one).
That way we can cut deals with the less cooperative beings inside us.
>>
You draw the soul of the monster into yourself, siphoning away everything that it has been.

You feel something deep and long-lived, akin to the Troll, yet... different. You feel the waves of the water around you for a moment, and then a surging wave of violence and fear from the last throes of this monster's life.

You feel the other entities within you already make moves to lock it down. It will likely be inconsolable with its death for a bit of time.

Will you take this beast for a trait, or exp?

Trait list:

1: Bipolarity: At times, some random, others conspicuously critical, your personality flips.
2: Poisonous Waters: Water near you will unfailingly take on a taint that is toxic to the living.
3: Accursed Form: Your body permanently changes into an abomination. Magics may be used to alter the form, however with time, it will return to the altered form. Curses may be removed.
4-5 Song of the Rain: You can take information from water. Extending your sight to whatever water may touch. +5 to Primal involving Water.
6-7 Fury of the Sea: Capable of going into the frenzy of a sea monster. You take no penalty to aquatic combat and may act as a berserker within the water, gaining strength equivalent to and stacking with regular berserk
8 -9 Siren Song: You may sing with the enchanting voice of the Scylla. Calming down mortals and putting them at ease. The song puts them into a trance and enables you to will them to do things according to your desires so long as nothing disrupts them.
>>
>>24392444

>>
>>24392444
exp
>>
i vote we try the traits... the negatives aren't that bad honestly and we can definately use siren song or song of the rain. And this would allow a good segue into the beserk line for the fury of the sea

>>
>>24392661

That's classified. Always less than what a trait is worth.
>>
We could use exp to buy song of rain later on..
And at the moment we need exp to get the alternate form ability to communicate with the wolves.

>>24392642
Where did iron veins and silver veins come from?
>>
>>24392642
Yea lets just get xp then. How much we have now?
>>
>>24392700
Oh yeah the wolf thing. We should get on that after the Molly thing. Might as we take the exp for preparation.
>>
Silver Veins: Silver runs through your body, tampering with the demon inside of you. As a result, you feel weakened and cannot fully express your strength, might, and ferocity as a demon. Berserk less potent, Demonic spells cost 2.5 times their exp cost to cast.

Iron Veins: Your body has been enriched with Iron, hindering your ability in using the magic of the fae. The magic that gives you your sanity and reason suffers somewhat from this.Fae Spells cost 2.5 times their exp cost to cast.
>>
>>24392760
Would silver veins weaken the demons in our mind?
>>
Song of the Rain is the cheapest at 6, so probably 5-4 xp from this thing.

If we want beastform we're probably going to have to go hunting abroad again.
>>
>>24392787
Doesn't soul siphon give bonus xp though?
>>
>>24392444
Let's go for the XP, the only thing I really want from it is Song of the Rain, and we can purchase that. I don't want to risk those Bad Traits.
>>

Angel's daggers melted into its body. Frenzied regen incorporated the material into its body.

That's why when the thing bit, it suffered backlash due to its demonic nature.

>The traits aren't that bad
1: At critical moments our personality flips. Completely destroys some attempts at negotiation etc
2: We poison our own town. Everyone dies.
3: You permanently become a monster. Can't stay in the town, can't hold your promise to the werewolf.

Sure doesn't sound too bad........ Are you kidding me? EXP is were it's at
>>
>>24392806

Not a fan at all :(. Maybe we can magic it out later on.

Its more then that... lets say we are trying to save a child... bam, bi polar, we kill the child instead and Ceri stops helping us.
>>
>>24392836

Fae is still pretty viable if you make a toadstool ring. to cast from. Would cut the cost in half, so it'd only be 1.25x as much mana. Rounded up.

>>24392783
And yes, the two pretty much leave you back in to same state. although with slightly lowered strength if you do berserk or get into the other two classes of magic.
>>
>>24392931
The daggers weren't very much silver. Would getting more melted into us improve demon suppression?
>>
>>24392931
>Fae is still pretty viable if you make a toadstool ring. to cast from. Would cut the cost in half, so it'd only be 1.25x as much mana. Rounded up.
Yea, I was not at all worried about the cost of spells. Its the mind weakening that worries me. Although we might be able to compensate for it... and having the veins in us protects us against being physically grappled by some monsters (it saved us from being chomped by scylla).
>>
>>24392970

Yes, while further reducing brute strength.

>>24392992
The effect is more seen when the "veins" are exposed. So it'll be more potent between regenerations when the body is broken.
>>
>>24393035
>Yes, while further reducing brute strength.
Sounds cool. We can just drop lightning on everything and if a demon so much as brushes against us he'll burst into flame.
>>
>>24393076
I'd rather not go too far with this. There are situations where we can't just throw lightning at stuff, like just moments ago.

What I would like to gain is a way to change our compositions at will. Applying stone shaping to ourself to integrate silver when we want and to remove it when we need the extra strength.
>>
You push down the Sea Monster, learning that it is called a "Scylla" as you finish absorbing the soul.

The husk drifts down to the bottom of the lake.

The merfolk swim around, you, staring at you with the eyes of monsters as they slowly, but surely re-assume the forms of beyond beautiful humans.

Genevieve swims up to you, smiling widely. You hear her voice whispering into your mind," Thank.... you... Should... need... us... Call." The communication feels... as though it could be better.. like there's something blocking it.
