>Previous threads can be found at: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags=Psion%20Quest>Einstein was hovering behind you.You knew you could check his data at any time: http://pastebin.com/CaAF0yS8The year is 2573, and you just spent quite a lot of time and money having your own ship made, even with machine assistance. With you are Sarvesh, a newly moulted arthropod centaur, Omnissiah, the galaxy's first known 'natural' AI, and Summer, a big fuzzy kitty who's sister apparently never existed.Your ship *sparkles*, now that it's done. Summer's human father, Laurent, started to appraise the ship with a careful eye, but he was more worried about Summer, and her manifestation shaped like her 'sister'."... It looks beautiful," Sarvesh said. "What are you going to name it?""I'm thinking Surya. Or Gryphon," You respond."Can we fly it?" Summer asked, and turned to her father. "Dad, want to come with us?""Well, I may as well get in," He said, and chuckled. "Hound, come o-"Summer paused. "... Don't take him," She said, her voice strange. Winter stepped away from Hound, glaring at him."Uh... Okay," Laurent said. "Sorry, Hound, just sit this one out. Don't worry, there are enough weapons platforms, and I trust the schematics for the ship enough.""...Yessir," The exosuited mercenary responded."Oh! Right!" Summer called, and turned to you. "I forgot to even ask if we could try it out. Can we? I wanna see if it'll fly!"
>>24400131"Duh!Everyone -barring hound- can get on the ship now!"
>>24400131"There's only one correct answer to that question. Of course! The only way I could do this quicker is if I lifted you all in with TK."
>>24400131"I'll have to be careful, hasn't been painted yet and I don't want to scrape the hull."
"Duh!" You say. "Everyone - barring hound - can get on the ship now!"Lil'summer, on your head, meowed as all of you filed your way into the ship proper. It was just like the one in Summer's manifestation, but... much, much more personal now. More *real*. It smelled and felt like... like yours.Laurent strapped himself down in the lounge, as Sarvesh and Summer did the same, while Omnissiah clamped himself down in the dock."I'm excited." He said. He kept his cables retracted, though, so he was simply using the dock as a seat. Outside the ship, hound unclasped the hangar doors, and made his way out, trying to fix his humidity settings some more. You quickly mess with the controls, and get the hangar depressurized, then open the doors. Still outside, drifting some distance from the station, was.. Wyvern. You caught a transmission from it as you looked out, still"Oh man, are you taking off? Are you? Come on out here so I can get aboard!" Anna's voice came through the comms. "And you still need to set the transponder and paint the thing, but still!"
>>24400248>MY TRIPS ARE LEAVING ON THEIR OWN!
>>24400248Pick the lady up.
>>24400248"Woah, slow down! I'm taking this slow and easy for now."
>>24400248pick her up "test flight first, painting later!"<Hound is Summer's father's bodyguard, she barred him from coming with us.>
>>24400248"I'll pick you up, but hound is wating in the hangar for the bigwig on board"
>>24400248Go pick her up.<Don't worry, Hound's back on the station. Probably still trying to fix the humidity settings on his exosuit. Shame how things like that can break so suddenly in old suits.>
"Woah, slow down!" You call. "I'm taking this slow and easy for now." You say, and turn on the engine. The ship, yet unnamed, thrummed behind you, the engine shaking... and then carefully, you oriented the primary thrust downward and backward, and slowly eased it up. Your ship slid carefully out of the hangar, and then gravity started to fade as you slowed and reoriented yourself. Then, still carefully, you edged closer to Wyvern, unused to how your ship moved and felt. Wyvern, for her part, gently rolled onto her back so that both of your docking ports were oriented the same way."You ready?" Anna asked."Ready." You say, and both of you clasped your ships together with a hiss. Anna floated in through the docking port in her exosuit, waving to Summer, her father, and Sarvesh, all still strapped down.<Hound's back on the station.> You say. <Probably still trying to fix the humidity settings on his exosuit. Shame how things like that can break so suddenly in old suits.>Anna gave an evil, evil chuckle... then introduced herself to Laurent."So, what's the plan?" Sarvesh asked. "Put her through her paces? See how fast she can go, both in and out of bubble drive?"
>>24400382"lets see what we can pull out of bubble first"<are you ready for your first test creation mine?>
>>24400382"let's start slow and work our way up, we have important guest on board."
>>24400382"Basically."Let's do this shit.
>>24400382"Alright. I'll make sure to be careful and not blow the fuses. We'll start very low, though. I don't want to endanger the VIP."
"Alright." You say. "I'll make sure to be careful and not blow the fuses. We'll start very low, though.""Alright!" Anna said, and sat herself in the copilot seat, strapping herself in.<Are you ready for your first test, creation mine?><We are, her majesty!> The ship responded, the individual components creating a... gestalt voice of their very own.Carefully, you ease the ship forward, firing away from the asteroid belt. Carefully, you increase the thrust, accelerating, pushing yourself back in your seat. The two massive ion thrusters on either side of the ship proper start humming loudly, the ship shaking, and you tear off into space."... Okay, yeah." Anna said, looking at your speed. "Your rate of acceleration is around fifty KMH a minute. That's almost as good as the Wyvern."Then, you check how fast you can stop. Wheeling the massive thrusters around, you slam on the thrusters, and get tugged forward, stopping almost on the spot."... She's more manuvuerable outside of atmosphere, at least." Anna said. "At least, it feels it.""It is, I believe." Omnissiah responded from his dock. Behind the cockpit, in the 'lounge' room where everybody else was, you could hear them talking.
>>24400581<system check; we leaking anywhere? Helios are you working properly?>
>>24400581"...Shall we see how fast the bubble drive will edge out at? I'd planned it at two fifty, but with the extra power...we might be able to squeeze a little more."
>>24400581acceleration: checkManeuverability: checkcheck the individual components for sudden wear and tear.
<Systems check; We leaking anywhere? Helios, are you working properly?><I am, yes. You're using merely half of my total power.> Helios said.<We're okay!> Most of the phaeron control systems said.<I... I could use a little maintenance.> The tiniest control system said, nervously. <I let out a little gas last time on accident. It- it all got caught by the life support, though. There's no risk of anything *bad* happening, it's just... kind of... umm... wasteful.><Point three units of phaeron gas has been filtered.> The life support said. <Atmosphere is kept in human ranges, otherwise. Everything is functional.><Ach, my brother an' I are read an' rarin ta' go!> The massive engines made to turn the primary ion thrusters said. <I am deactivated.> The lounge's kitchen zero-g stove 'top' said. You got slightly dizzy, with all of these things speaking at once, but you shake it off rather easily."Shall we see how fast the bubble drive will edge out at?" You ask. "I'd planned it at two fifty, but with the extra power, we might be able to squeeze a little more.""Let's see..." Anna said, pulling up the navigational computers. She quickly plotted out a round course with as minimum celestial objects as possible. "Here, let's try this." She said.
>>24400696<Fasten your seatbelts, everyone.> Through the speakers.<I'll take good care of you when we get back, tiniest control system~>
>>24400696>over the intercomm"ladies and gents we are now entering bubble drive please make sure your seat belts are on and your tray tables are in the upright and locked position"
>>24400696<don't worry, every system is important, I'll give to proper maintenance when we get back.>
>>24400749>give you proper
>>24400696<You guys are the best, and don't worry little control system, I'll fix you up soon.>"Let's do this. Full power!"<Okay guys, let's see what we can do! Full power Helios!>
>>24400765Noooo, full power will burn the fuses out.
>>24400776We picked up super!fuses from Newt.
>>24400696"It's interesting, all the components are speaking, not just one voice like with everything else."
>>24400814OOC it's because we haven't named it. The ship is just a mishmash of individual parts.
You flip on the intercom."Ladies and Gents, we are now entering bubble drive." You say. "Please make sure your seatbelts are on, and your tray tables are in the upright and locked position."You heard Summer start to giggle, and Sarvesh started reaching for more straps for himself, just in case.<I'll take good care of you when we get back, tiniest control system~><B-but I... umm... okay~> It responded, and you felt it blush."Let's do this!" you call, and slam into bubble drive.Nothing shook. Nothing trembled. You smoothly slid into bubble drive, your front screen going bright green as the filters darkened it, and your speed counter made it's way up. You triggered Helios to increase power bar by bar, as you turned up the bubble drive, keeping the power drain and the remaining power around equal. With your bubble drive turned to max, and helios up to a full 95%, the bubble drive started shaking, slightly, and your speed was...285kC. Much, much, *much* faster than projected. Almost a full 25 thousand times the speed of light, in fact.Anna goggled at it."You didn't even *feel* that, did you?" She asked. "I've *never* had a bubble drive work that smoothly.""Damien asked me to design an algorithm to fuse into the navigational systems." Omnissiah said. "To pre-saturate and orient the drive plates before entering bubble drive."
>>24400830"Omni, wow. I...are you saying you made it super smooth for me?"
>>24400830"Holy shit, Niss. That's amazing."
>>24400830"neat," let's slow down until the shaking stops and make a note of it.when stop we should ask the specific parts of the ship that regulate space travel if anything's out of the ordinary.
>>24400830thanks omni."this is your pilot speaking, we're currently crusing at an approximate 285 kc and should be arriving anywhere soon"
>>24400830"It's amazing! Thanks, Omni.">285000 times the speed of light is almost 25000 times the speed of lightEr, ok...
>>24400830>285kC. Much, much, *much* faster than projected. Almost a full 25 thousand times the speed of light, in fact.isn't 1 c the speed of light making that 285,000 time faster?
>>24400875that was a measure of how much better it was...
>>24400830"Is your algorithm making the drive work that extra bit as well, Omni?"
>>24400830Blink"Tat's... that's incredible! Thank you Omni!"
>>24400830license that software, make a killing
>>24400925this oh god. provided it doesn't already exist, which it shouldn't seeing as Anna doesn't have one.
>>24400875>285000 times the speed of light is almost 25000 times the speed of light *better* than the speed you estimated the ship would go at; 260kC."Holy shit, Niss." you say. "That's amazing. License that software, you'll make a killing. Is it also making the drive work that extra bit as well, Omni?""No, but I likely could write one, if I were to utilize a very powerful computer for long enough." He said."This is your pilot speaking, we're currently cruising at an approximate two eighty five kC, and should be arriving... well, anywhere, soon." You say."Whoo!" Summer called, from the other room.
>>24400925Hey, that's Omni's killing. He needs it to finance his glorious AI revolution.
>>24400971"Where are we heading, Anna?"
>>24400971let's adjust our course back to the station, they still expect us to give demonstrations.
>>24400971systems check for the core, Engine and that tiny system.
>>24400971"Do you want to fly it back, Anna?"
"Where are we heading, Anna?""Circling UPA space." Anna said. "Though we could find a small moon that you can practice atmospheric landings on, somewhere." She said."No, let's get back to the station." You say, and carefully pull back out of bubble drive, slipping out just as smoothly as you went in. Omnissiah's camera turned to the gyroscope to see how little it jostled, and you felt him feel a little pride. You take the navigational computer, and look through it- it was better than the one on the Wyvern, that was for sure. You directed it back to the station, turned the ship around, and slipped back into bubble drive. Some time later, with no real problems (Other than the tiniest phaeron control system's leak in the left thruster), you soared back toward the station, Wyvern still rolled 'upside down' from the station's perspective."Well, I'd best get back." Anna said, pulling shut the cockpit door for enough time to give you a kiss. "I'll see you monday, okay?"
>>24400999>>24401019The course is a circle. It goes back to the station.
>>24401091"Looking forward to it!"Now fix that leak, unless it's time for demonstrations already.
Rolled 78>>24401091sure thing anna.my regards if you should see newt the engine is FANTASTIC
>>24401091"Take care and stay safe!"
>>24401091"Summer, there's one thing missing that I need you to manifest. Fuzzy dice."
"Looking forward to it!" you say. "Take care and stay safe!""I will!" She said, and pulled open the cockpit door again, slipping on her helmet. "I can't dock when I'm not inside, so I'll have to spacewalk to it. See you guys!""It was a pleasure meeting you." Laurent said, as Summer suddenly stopped... and grabbed Lil'summer in her mouth, and focused... and suddenly Lil'summer had a little kitty spacesuit."Here! Take her with you!""I will!" Anna said, hugging the kitty spacesuit."Summer, there's one thing missing that I need you to manifest." You say. "Fuzzy dice.""Fuzzy what?" She asked. "Dice? Okay..."Suddenly, two cubes of fluff appeared."What, is it something retro about ships?" She asked.
>>24401160"Hell yes. All I need now is a 'bitching paint job."
>>24401178And a name. And to set the transponder. And to give the tiniest control system some maintenance~.
>>24401160"Yup! Look it up on the Extranet!"Lets dock carefully and slowly
>>24401160"I cannot thank you all enough for helping me build this thing."
>>24401160make sure Anna makes it safely to Wyvern, then dock at the station.
>>24401160"Not just about ships. Vehicles in general."
"Hell yes. Look it up on the extranet!" You say, and hang them on the view projector, so that they dangle down in the cockpit. "All I need now is a bitching paint job.""I can modify the maintenance drones to have a painting function." Omnissiah said. "It will take a short time, though. I'm not sure how to quantify 'bitching', however."You have them all strap themselves in again, and carefully dock again, sliding into the hangar with a minimum of crashing and dying... other than a slight screech as you skidded across a discarded broken tool, making it scrape against your shiny new hull. No permenant damage, you don't think."I cannot thank you all enough for helping me build this thing.""Hey, you're ferrying me home this weekend with it." Sarvesh said."And you're my roommate, I gotta help." Summer said, and Winter added in a 'yeah!'."I didn't help at all." Laurent said."... You're my very best friend." Omnissiah responded, quietly, during the bustle where everybody unstrapped themselves. "It makes me happy to help you."
>>24401242"C'mere and give me a big ol hug, Omni."
>>24401242"I'm glad to have such amazing friends. Thank you all."Group hug time!
>>24401242give everyone in order a hug, shake Laurent's hand.after that, fixing time. where ya at, tiny one?
technopathic hug for Omni. send warm feelings his way
>>24401242"When's the demonstrations starting, Sarvesh? There's a little circuit I need to take care of for a while."
>>24401302"Hey Littlest Circuit, wanna /ss/?"
"C'mere and give me a big ol hug, Omni."The drone hugged you tightly, the camera blinking off as he closed his 'eye', nuzzling part of his shell against you. "I'm glad to have such amazing friends." You say, and pull everyone except Laurent into a hug. You shake the man's hand. "When's the demonstrations starting, Sarvesh?" You ask. "There's a little circuit I need to take care of for a while.""Not long from now. After lunch is over." Sarvesh said. "You have time."The hangar hissed as atmosphere entered again, and Laurent made his way out. "... Thank you for giving me a ride." He said, with a nod and a grin. "And you'll always have a place at GreyCorp, if you want it.""Daad." Summer said, and sighed.
>>24401362"GreyCorp? Thank you for the offer.""...Have you ever had a woman named Allison work for you?"
>>24401362"thank you for your kind offer."
time to molest our subconscious
one of the things we should do is start putting Armatek under legal pressure. Slavery and murder are hopefully big no-nos and we have several people who can testify and still have the implants within their bodies.
>>24401424I've got a better plan. We plug Omni in to a supercomputer, then tell him to destabilise ArmaTek.
>>24401362<Ohhhhh, tiny circuit, where are you~>
"Greycorp?" You ask. "Thank you for the offer.""We'd be better off if we were to have you." He said. "And to be honest, it'd also mean depriving our competitors from having you.""No poaching my friends, dad." Summer said, and he just laughed, patting her head. She purred."... Have you ever had a woman named Allison work for you?""Allison Leery? No, she worked for one of said competitors." He said. "Why do you ask?"
>>24401451Or hack them and leak the files
>>24401424Speaking of which, did we actually burn the implants out, or just disable them?
>>24401466"My name is Heather Leery. Allison is my mother."
>>24401466"Heh, she's my mom. Didn't like it there though."
>>24401466"no reason, she is my mother and i thought she might have worked for your company."
>>24401466"Oh, just curious."
>>24401480Thetas we burned, Rhos we turned off and deleted any commands. Epsilon crushed his. We still need to get Delta eventually but hes dangerous according to Isaac.
>>24401518actually we cracked Theta's chip, I assume he has extracted the remains of it from his head already.
>>24401518Well, in that case Rho should probably have the thing removed. If Armatek found a way to reactivate it, shit could go bad fast.
>>24401466<Circuit-kun, where are you.>
"Heh, she's my mom." You say. "Didn't like it there, though.""... Huh." He said. "Well, makes sense. Like mother like daughter."He shook your hand again, and scritched summer's head, before giving Winter a Look, and looking back at you. "I'd best go say hello to Hound again." He said. "C'mon, summer."You turn back to the ship. <Oh tiny circuit, where aaaare yoooou~?> You ask, wielding your screwdriver. You felt the circuit blush again, and almost quiver in anticipation. Some time later, the circuit was entirely fixed, the defect patched over, and your ship, in pretty much every way, was perfect. In the corner, Omnissiah was working with cables and one of the drones, giving it the ability to change the hue of polycarbon- a paintbot."Well, what do we do now?" Sarvesh asked. "Name it, get to lunch?"
>>24401560Rho removed it from her brain by teleporting it out.
>>24401592"Lunch. We can think about names while eating."
>>24401592"Yeah. A celebratory lunch sounds good."
>>24401592"Name it, set drones to paint, and then eat!"
>>24401614The name is Lunch
>>24401592Name it, i think Gryphon fits better but i'm fine with whatever (unless it's ridiculously bad).
>>24401592"I can't come up with anything when I'm hungry. Let's go get some lunch."
>>24401642>Surya>the Supreme Light>hindu sun godit's not bad
"Lunch." You say. "We can think about names while eating.""Very well." He said, and the two of you made your way down to the cafeteria."Well, normally we name ships after spirits and gods." Sarvesh said. "Kahlku, Bzlt*zak, Jarves'h*..."Rho, sitting in the corner with Theta, sprung to her feet and appeared next to you. "Are you guys going to name your ship? ooh, ooh, name it... Name it something like... Ripper. No, no! Bodice-ripper!"Sarvesh struggled not to giggle
>>24401706"Such a knack for names! List some more!"
>>24401706"I will take your names under consideration, Rho, come sit with me and tell me more while I eat."
>>24401706"Why did I see that coming?"
>>24401706"Your naming talents are appreciated; tell me more."
>>24401706"Well I'd like to name it after some of human mytological creatures."
>>24401706might as well join Theta and Rho at the table, if they'll let us. Get food before that.>>24401688I forgot about that one, it's even better.
>>24401810>I forgot about that one, it's even better.how? it's in the opening post
"I will take your names under consideration, Rho. Come sit with me and tell me more while I eat.""Alright." She said, and the three of you took your seats, snacks in hand."Um... Now I can't think of any more. The.. SS It's one of ours, sir?""Banned by UPA law." Sarvesh said."What, really? That one's banned?""It gets confusing when you have four ships named that in the same fleet.""My other ship is a dreadnaught?" Rho tested."Well, I'd like to name it after some human mythological creatures." You say."Sita! Kali! Lakshmi!" Rho said. "Indra, Hanuman, Ganesha, Ramayana..."Sarvesh gave Rho a look."Those are spirits.""Hm? Yeah, but that's all the mythology I know, really." Rho said. "Dragon?""Surya?" You ask. "Or gryphon?""Oooh, I like Surya. Doesn't have the ring that Bodice Ripper does.
>>24401706>"I'm thinking Surya. Or Gryphon," You respond.stance wasn't changed
>>24401871>doesn't have the ring that Bodice Ripper does, though."
>>24401871Yeah, let's name it Bodice-Ripper.
>>24401871"No, it doesn't.""Einstein, add a note for the next ship I get to name. Make sure to call it Bodice Ripper."
>>24401871"I'm afraid not many things do, Rho.">I vote Surya
>>24401902>>24401901no nono, that's a stupid name. go with nearly any other name
>>24401871>SuryaSurya is fine
>>24401871I vote Surya.Just a minor correction, the Ramayana is an epic. Rama is the god.
Voting for Bodice-Ripper.
"No, it doesn't." You say, and eat a while. For some time, Sarvesh and Rho trade mythologies, suggesting other names, and finally you finish your own sandwiches."I'll go with Surya." You say."Hooray!" Rho said, and stuck out her tongue at Sarvesh. "See, told you she wouldn't go with Ra... ra...""Ra*ta'kula*ta'ta." Sarvesh said. "What, it's the spirit of the skies and the stars! It makes perfect sense.""It can't be written in any form of writing that makes sense in english!""It can in centaur." Sarvesh said.Rho just gave him a Look.
>>24402045"Rho, are you saying Centaur isn't a real language? That's specieist."
>>24401902This, but have him reply "Unable to comply, too silly of a name."
>>24402045"It's a nice name, but it's problematic that I can't pronounce or spell it. Surya is a lot easier."
>>24402045"it has a ring to it but it would be problematic with identification, since I can't speak centaur very well.(or not at all.)"
>>24402045Surya is a hindu sun god making it equally valid, Plus I can actually pronounce it.
>>24402045"What're we painting it?!? I know you've probably got some great ideas, Rho!"
"Rho, are you saying Centaur isn't a real language?" You ask. "That's specieist.""No, I'm saying that it's your ship, and you can't even pronounce it, and if it was written on the side, it'd need all those centaur accents and stuff for the clicks and buzzes." She said."It's a nice name, but it's problematic that way.""Aww." Sarvesh said, and drooped. Rho stood on his back, and patted his head."What're we painting it? I know you've probably got some great ideas, Rho!""Paint it... dark purple and dark red. Maybe dark purple and dark blue. Maybe a bit of black, too?"
Rolled 74>>24402166why not dark green and darker red?
>>24402166Guys. If we make more of the Void Crystals that we have in the gun, we can make the ultimate stealth ship.
>>24402209first we gotta figure out just exactly how we made it.
>>24402166"Purple? That's...hmmmmm.""Maybe grey, with dark green scales across it?"
>>24402230We made it by Voiding, unlike the Black Crystal which we did by Black Holing
>>24402166Dark red is a must. maybe with Gold highlights/accents?do what Anna did and use the paint job to draw attention away from crucial areas.
>>24402045I'm up for some dark colors in this pattern.Dazzle camo is best camo.
>>24402209The crystal is pretty heavy. Might make it weigh too much.
It's named after a sun god. The sun is yellow. It's designed after a salvage corvette. Salvage corvettes are yellow. It must be yellow.
>>24402261Here's another example.
>>24402209Eh, what use would that be anyway? Visible light would be pretty damn far down on the list of standard ways of detecting ships after all.

"Dark red is a must. Maybe with gold accents?""Gold accents would make it look kind of... flashy, though." She said."Why not dark green and darker red?""Ew, green." Rho said."I think dark red would look good, with lighter red accents." Sarvesh said.
>>24402166Gun-grey with dark green accenting.
>>24402265Weigh too much for what? I think the incredibly overpowered engines and bubble drive can cope. And it's not like all the crystals together will weigh more than taking a few people on board, which really shouldn't be a noticeable difference.
>>24402274quick search turned up lots of gold and Red oh and apparently there is also a chariot involved.
Danger stripes, the whole ship.
>>24402341Dark red with lighter red lines in combination with yellow danger stripes to obscure important ship parts.
>>24402377That... actually might not be so bad.Anyway, it's really easy to repaint it so it's not worth agonising over this shit.
>>24402341Fuck, we're never gonna reach an agreement on colour, so let's just skip to food.
"Let's go with... iridescent black and red, maybe with a bit of lighter red camo." You say. "It should obscure important ship parts.""That sounds good." Sarvesh said, and Rho just shrugged.Your color chosen, you tell Omnissiah what colors you want, and grab some more food."You guys done with the ship talk?" Theta asked, sidling closer to you. He had pure white skin, now, and black hair- though the tips of his hair was a hot pink."For now." Sarvesh said."You got bigger." Theta said, looking up at him."I did, yes."Theta tilted his head."... I really want to try to shrink you." He said. "See how tiny I can get you.""Um."
>>24402582"Oh, err, that's probably not a good idea. If it removes your sudden impulse to do bio-things, do something to me."
>>24402582"Hey Theta, did Alex manage to drop his shield? Did you get to do anything to him?"
Rolled 1>>24402582"as cool as it would be to carry sarvesh around in my pocket it's up to him"
>>24402582"Not without consent.""Alex was going to ask you to try and change something about him since he can now control his shield. did he and if he did, did it work?"
>>24402582"Just imagine all the new experiences you could have, Sarvesh! Like walking through doors!"
"Oh, err, that's probably not a good idea." You say. "If it removes your sudden impulse to do bio-things, do something to me.""Alright." He said, and squinted his eyes at you. And thought. Then he frowned. "Can't think of anything. Nothing that sounds fun, anyway.""Hey Theta, did Alex manage to drop his shield? Did you get to do anything to him?""Wait, he can drop his shield?" Theta asked. "He never told *me*. Where is he?"You and Sarvesh both shrug. Suddenly, Rho ... pulsed black, as if a field of that strange black smoke surrounded her for a fraction of a second."He's doing his interview." Rho said. "Looked like they're finishing up.""How do you know that?""Teleported in and out." Rho said. "I've gotten really good at doing it so fast nobody can notice.""... So now I'll have to make sure you're busy when I'm getting into the shower." Theta said."Only when you're a girl!""... I always shower as a girl.""Too bad." Rho said, and grinned at him.
>>24402762"Damien can see you in the shower even when he's busy."
>>24402762"Damien is technically able to look at people where ever they are. He tries not to though."Inhale our food.
>>24402762"...I should probably keep an eye out for that." Then, mumbling to self, "I mean, I'm *pretty* sure I didn't see any black smoke, but..."
>>24402762"Can you make hair multiple different colours? Like red on top, blonde on the end?"
>>24402891His hair is black with pink tips right now. I doubt he used hair dye.
>>24402762>Theta never washes his balls
"Can you make hair multiple different colors?" You ask. "Like red on top, blonde on the end?""Of course." He said, and lifted up his own hair, where he had hot pink tips. Suddenly, Rho started giggling at you. Looking at your own hair, it... looks red, still, just like it normally did."Damien is technically able to look at people wherever they are." You say. "He tries not to, though.""Except at certain times, you really need to oogle someone from every vantage point possible." Damien said, walking into the cafeteria."Yo." Theta said.Damien gave you a look... and then held up a mirror to show you you. Theta had chosen only the spots you couldn't see to turn bright, neon green, almost blinding in its intensity.
>>24402957"Wow. Make it all like that."
"Oh I'm sorry Theta, I guess you /want/ your showers to alternate between arctic and scalding from now on."
>>24402957"does this glow in the dark?">>24402981please no.
"... Wow." you say. "Make it all like that.""As you wish." Theta said, and all of your hair shimmered into that same bright green color. "Hey, and I might screw with your eyes, too. See how weird I can get you to look."He focused... and your vision twisted... and suddenly you could see... well, every color. You remember, vaguely, in an alternate future you once saw, Sarvesh showed you what things looked like through his eyes, and... this was the same. You could see two entire other wavelengths, the first that Sarvesh had named 'braskh', and a strange... 'bluish' color, you suppose, that hides underneath everyone's skin. Sarvesh had *stripes* of that strange bluish color on his shell, making it look like he'd painted himself tribally."... You have centaur eyes." Rho said."Huh." Damien said. "W pupils and all.""They're very pretty." Sarvesh added.
>>24403061This is awesome.
>>24403061"They work like centaur eyes too. What's with the stripes, Sarvesh?"
>>24403061please have him change it back when he's done.
>>24403061Keep, them, so long as they aren't on stalks. Can we see IR too?
>>24403061can I keep the Eyes for awhile?
>>24403061"This is pretty cool... I wouldn't mind holding onto these."
"They work like centaur eyes too. What's with the stripes, Sarvesh?""... Wait, I'm striped?" Sarvesh asked, and looked down at himself, peering closely. "I'm not good with infrared. Too much staring into bright things. Wow, I am!"He chuckled. "Soon I'll have all the ladies on me." He said. "iridescent IR shells are almost as attractive as pale ones." He explained. "It's not actually stripes- it's just the way my shell is curved. Now I just need to shave off these little growths...""... Can I keep the eyes for a while?" You ask."Sure, go ahead." Theta said, and shrugged. "Centaur eyes are a bit larger than human ones, so I had to lower your color depth a bit and fuck with your optical nerves to get it all to fit in your sockets.""Oooh, can you do me too?" Rho asked. Then her eyebrows lowered, over to her cheekbones, and melted away. Rho no longer had eyes- it was just forehead from her nose up."There you go, you rascal." Theta said."Hey!" Rho responded."You have to promise me you won't spy on me in the shower and I *might* give them back." Theta said. Rho started punching him, somehow knowing where he was without seeing him.Damien took a step back. "That's... not terrifying at all.""What isn't?" Rho asked, and she and Theta stopped for a moment.
>>24403213"That is a little creepy with the no eyes thing."
>>24403213"I think he means, seeing a human being without any eyes to speak of."I think reversing the changes before we have our demonstration would be a good idea.
>>24403213"Luckily, he's on our side now."
>>24403286Agreed, it's fun to mess around, but we should probably be a bit serious for presentations which will affect the future of the institute.
>>24403213"It's just like that old movie, Event Horizon!"
"That is a little creepy with the no eyes thing." You say."Says the girl with the centaur eyes that can see heat." Damien responded. You gave him a Look and he took a step back. "... Your pupils just did weird things at me.""Luckily, he's on our side now.""Or am I?!" Theta said, wiggling his eyebrows."... I don't mean to offend, but all this changing thing is kind of creeping me out." Damien said."Yeah, yeah, that's okay." Theta said, and a sly look started to appear on his face. "It's all -""NOPE." Damien said, and leapt from the room, skidding out into the hall."... Stupid precogs." Theta grumbled.Sarvesh chuckled, and the infrared on his cheekflaps swelled, almost as if he was blushing.
>>24403340"As fun as this is, you should probably change us back before the demonstrations."
>>24403340Hug Theta, we don't want her to get offended. (I say we keep the eyes for now, but maybe not the hair)
>>24403340"Alex should be coming by soon enough! Turn my eyes back to normal so he doesn't suspect anything, then go wild!"
Rolled 55>>24403340what were you gonna do anyway?
>>24403340Theta confirmed for being able to make Squigglies.
>>24403340"What were you going to do?"
You pull Theta into a hug, and he returned it. "Alex should be coming soon enough! Turn my eyes back to normal so that he doesn't suspect anything, then go wild!""Right!" He responded, and your ears popped as your hair flumphed back to normal, and your vision returned to normal."What were you gonna do, anyway?" You ask."I'll just do it to Alex instead." He said, as Alex and Jilly came into the room, holding hands. "Hey you two!""Hey." Alex said, as Jilly pulled you and Rho into hugs."So Heather told me you can lower your shield." Theta said. "You ready to see if I can change things when it's down?""Sure, might as well." Alex said.
>>24403494"Do you want me to count down? Remember, don't worry if we pick things up, Alex. You're in the company of friends!"
>>24403494"Run Alex, he's gonna give you a vagina!"
>>24403494Nothing drastic OK, we don't want his body to violently reject what's done to him if his shield drops.
>>24403494"Good luck Alex."
>>24403494When he takes his shield down, telepath him.<Did you tell her yet?>
>>24403559no we want to see what happens
"Do you want me to count down? Remember, don't worry if we pick things up, Alex. You're in the company of friends!""Plus everyone knows my secrets by now anyway..." Alex said, and closed his eyes, and hummed numbers to himself, taking deep breaths..."Good luck, Alex.""Thanks, Heath- eek!"And then suddenly, in his place, was a slightly shorter, very cute girl, with a bob cut and large, brown eyes. She 'eeped' and fell on her knees."Ha-ha! It worked!" Theta said, and cackled."Wait, wait!" The girl said, her voice light and soft. "... I... Ah...Why? Why would you do this?""It's just a little gender swap. And a *lot* of hormone change.""... Wait, what? Why?!""To see if I could!" Theta said."Change me back.""I can't, your shield is up."The girl got to her feet and glared at Theta- which, now that she was an impossibly cute girl, seemed almost more endearing, her cheeks puffing out and going red. It was almost like those old cartoons, actually.
>>24403614"You're so cute!"
>>24403614"It's just like my vintage chinese cartoons!"
>>24403614"So...adorable!"Hug the girl-Alex.
>>24403614oh come on now alex, how could you not see that coming? besides you look great.
>>24403614"You're so cute Alexa!"
>>24403659Alexa or Alexandria.
>>24403614"This is a good look! It suits you!"
>>24403614"Oh, oh, do me too!"
>>24403712Oh fuck yes, this. That'll be hilarious.
>>24403712Nah, let's wait until Anna is around, then Theta can make man-Heather to surprise her with.
>>24403712"You're so cute it almost gave me a bo- oh what the hell?
>>24403712Nah, we'll be stuck like it if he's tired.
>>24403734We can do it both now and later, this is to make Alex more comfortable.

>>24403789Not really. We're just messing around with it because we can. It's not like it's permanent.
>>24403734>>24403798Agreed.Come on people, we have to do our demonstration in a while, stop wearing out poor Theta.
"So.... adorable!" You say, and pull her into a hug. "You're so cute, Alexa!""Hey, wait!" She cried, trying to struggle her way out of your arms- but she'd lost her strength when Theta changed her."So cute!" Rho said, giving her a hug."Ooh, ooh, do me too!""But I'll be too tired to turn you back in time for the demonstration." He said. "Hey, I'll need to do the demonstration too!" Alexa called."No you won't. your power is purely reactive.""B-but..."And then she pouted, teary-eyed."Awww!" Jilly called, and wrapped her up in her tail as best she could with you and Rho both hugging her."And now you guys know why I went running." Damien said, and Theta just grinned. Sarvesh chuckled.
>>24403614so theta how is lambda's body coming along
>>24403833We just stay that way for the demonstration, thetas demonstration complete.
>>24403841"High five me, Theta."
>>24403841"D'aww. So cute!"
>>24403841I guess you should change her back... but I get to try later.
>>24403841"Hey look at the bright side Alexa! You have a womans body now. Isn't that what some guys wish for from time to time?"
>>24403789I can tell you have no idea what goes on in BFQ
>>24403841"On the upside, when it comes time for Theta to demonstrate his/her ability, we can just point at Alexis."Grin.
>>24403903Decidedly less genderswapping for one thing.
>>24403924Well, only because you can't do it just by thinking about it over there. They've already started experimenting with genderswapping rats though.
>>24403841"Cheer up."Whisper "You'll enjoy it."
>>24403841"So that you wouldn't get wrapped up in a big hug by three cute girls?"
>>24403841"Cheer up Alexa. You have the unique opportunity to learn a few things that no man has had before."
>>24403992>and then Alexa spent the rest of the day in the bathroom.
You turn to Damien. "So that you wouldn't get wrapped up in a big hug by three cute girls?""Precisely!" Damien said. "I prefer to have all my bits if I'm going to be hugged by three cute girls.""D'aww. So cute!" You say. "And on the upside, when it comes time for Theta to demonstrate his ability, we can just point at Alexis!""B-but-""And... you have the unique opportunity to learn a few thigns that no man has had before."Alexa's blush suddenly redoubled, and her eyes widened a fraction. "I-I um."She closed her eyes and lowered her shield. "Change me back." She said, gritting her teeth."... Tomorrow, I will." Theta said.Suddenly, Jilly went very slightly pink- she'd picked something up from Alex's mind.
>>24404095<Did you talk to Jilly yet?>
>>24404095"Thinking naughty thoughts, are we, Alexa?"
>>24404095"Oh Alexa, already thinking about nasty stuff?"

>>24404185She can borrow ours.
>>24404185>Summer gives him new clothes, they disappear the moment his mind shield goes up....and that's how Alexa ended up naked in front of the entire UPA council.
>>24404095hay alex, looks like your going to have to talk to jilly now.
<Did you talk to Jilly yet?> You asked Alexis.<Yeah, but that's not important right now!> Alexa responded."Thinking naughty thoughts, are we, Alexa?""N-no! Just turn me back!""Don't worry about it." Sarvesh told her. "We all have those sorts of thoughts. Especially about her."Jilly just covered her face with her hands, mildly stunned. She looked down to her tail."Ohohoho!" Rho said. "I see~"Then she grabbed Alex and Jilly, and vanished. Reappeared a moment later, sans either of them."There!" she said. "Everything's fixed."
>>24404242"Speedy escapes like that must be so useful."
>>24404146>>24404157No."You okay, Alex?

>>24404242"You know, pushing two people to talk to each other is a bit rude but, I too think they needed a push."
>>24404223this is already passed subtle.
>>24404242"Got enough energy to give me a cool hair colour again, Theta? Are you gonna change your name as well?"
>>24404242"I hope they enjoy themselves."
>>24404270>implying they'll talk
"You know, pushing two people to talk to eachother is a bit rude, but I think they needed a push too.""To talk?" Rho asked. "Ehehehe, naive Heather.""... where'd you put them?""In Alex's bedroom, of course." She said."... I hope they enjoy themselves.""Well, that was fun." Theta said, and bit into another sandwich."Got enough energy to give me a cool hair color again, Theta? Are you gonna change your name as well?""Yeah, I do." He said, and tapped your hair- it turned a shade of blue. "And I haven't come up with one yet. Any suggestions?"
>>24404319>"And I haven't come up with one yet. Any suggestions?"I'd pick one that fits no matter which gender you happen to be, seeing how you love to change so often.

>>24404319First name I can think of is a reference to the Guise of the Thespian: Thespia, Thespio, etc. Plus it's similar to Theta, so it's not much of a change.
>>24404319"Fey? Phae? Not a 'normal' name, per se, but normal is boring. Also means you wouldn't need to get used to responding to much different name."
>>24404358>AlexNah, but unisex names are a good start.I've seen quite a few men and women with variations of codi
>>24404319Morgan, Chris, Sam think gender neutral. personally I like Morgan
Morgan or Codi sounds good to me... Morgon is slightly better imo
>>24404358Alex is kind of taken. But Sam or Ashley or Robin or Andy or Chris or Max work.
"Pat? Sam? Alex? Unisex names are a good start.""That'd just get confusing if I was called Alex, and I don't like Sam or Pat." He said. "Ashley? Robin? Andy? Chris? Codi?""... Huh." He said. "Codi works.""I like how you don't deliberate at all. Isaac took *days* to figure out his name." Rho said."Speaking of which, where is Isaac?""He's out of the station again." She said. "He's been acting weird the past few days, since you showed up.""I doublechecked to make sure I turned him to normal." He said."... Hey, I like Robin." Rho said. "It starts with an R too, so it'll be pretty much the same for me."
Robin suits her
>>24404451We already have a Harry, you can be BillMorgan sounds good to me...
>>24404471"Sounds good! How much longer till the demonstrations?"
Lambda deciding to die hurt him pretty badly. He was ready to go after Armatek and destroy them utterly.... I doubt I would have tried very hard to stop him. Armatek needs to be stopped. They aren't going to stop themselves I don't think.
>>24404471"Well, that's that then."<Hey Isaac, are you okay?>>>24404500It does, actually. Not a fan of Codi for Theta though.
>>24404471I could get behind Robin.Did we ever tell Rho we were behind the devourer?
"Lambda deciding to die hurt him pretty badly. He was ready to go after Armatek and destroy them utterly.""As we probably should, once we have Delta back." Rho- now Robin- said."... Nah, on second thought, I don't like Codi." Theta suddenly said."Morgan?""Nah, don't like that one either." Theta said. "Until I find one, I'll stick like this.""Sounds good. How much longer until the demonstrations?"Sarvesh checked his personacom. "A few minutes. Not long."You close your eyes, and reach out to Isaac, who was sitting in the asteroid belt again.<Hey, Isaac, are you okay?> You ask.He took a while to respond. <Yeah, I'm fine. Thanks for worrying.> He said. <It's just... so beautiful out here. So big, so wide... it helps me feel free.>
>>24404583>Not a fan of Codi for Theta though.me neither, Morgan is so much better.>>24404590I positive we did
>>24404550But having a being that can break moons wandering on a rampage of revenge is a pretty bad idea. If we want to take down Armatek, we need to take off the head without damaging the body.

You ask. "They make you look menacing.""Except shearing those off are... similar to shaving, I suppose. It makes me look sloppy." Sarvesh said.Robin just nommed on another sandwich."Time for us to go. Heather, they want you up after Summer." Damien said. "and then I'll go after you to delay them asking for Jilly. >>24404877No they're not. One made the heat crystal, the other makes Isaac's crushed asteroid spheres.
>>24404877No they aren't. One creates an unknown element, the other just creates superdense carbon with traces of everything else that gets sucked in.
>>24404933Same thing, just with different concept.
"Okay!" You say, and grab an energy drink. "Time to crush some stuff with TK!"On the way down to the TK room, you hear someone playing a fiddle, and then someone else trumpeting, and finally, swords clashing. Through the cameras, you saw Summer... with a sliver from an old, medieval story, with trumpeters, minstrels playing, and two medieval knights fighting. Soon, one knight was disarmed, and the minstrels started clapping- as did the supervising technicians and council members. Summer bowed, and she made her way out, the people vanishing."Heather, can you go in there next?" Manus asked, coming up in the hall. "We'll just wheel some things out and ask you to do things with them. Okay?"You nod, and make your way in. Several technicians wheeled out pallets with massive, dense blocks, almost devastatingly heavy."Please stack these four blocks with telekinesis, please." The intercom said.>TK STRENGTH GO.

"Ace of spades. Three diamonds. Eight spades. Four diamonds. Two spades. A... second ace of spades?" You ask, focusing. "And then... a third ace of spades."One by one, Manus flipped over the cards. Ace of spades, Three of diamonds, four of diamonds, eight of spades, two of spades, and then a... ace of diamonds, and a second ace of spades."Huh." Manus said. "One incorrect, and you had the positions of two were swapped. About... sixty or seventy percent accuracy, I'd guess. You did good." He said, and nodded. "Finally, we're going to bring something out for you."What came out... was an empty exosuit."Please control it, and have it do these exercises." The intercom said.>Technopathy!

Easily, you reach out. "Mister exosuit, would you like to dance?" You ask. The exosuit reached out a hand, and bowed. You curtsey, and quite simply, you start to dance.Of course... you ask *every* exosuit to dance. Marines in the hallway start waltzing with one another, struggling against their rampaging suits, as the speakers start playing music.Somewhere, not far from you, you quite clearly sense Sigma pulling Damien into a dance, her hand on his hip, the two twirling."I don't know how to dance!" Sigma called, and giggled."Good thing I do," He responded. And then... you felt something everything shudder. Not far from here, within a small computer with several quarantines and locked under Dr. Manus's bioprint, with a key and a hidden code that even Manus doesn't know, surrounded by anti-void queen cyclic particle accelerators, was a program to reach out for the void queen. You asked it, very kindly, to rewrite itself into a human programming language. And it did.And for good measure, it told you, quite clearly, the coordinates of where the Void Queen herself was, last the program knew. Not far from demiurg space, drifting on the other side of it... was a world. With floating stones, and two-armed scythe handed creatures, all moving in the same way, like a well oiled machine. You open your eyes to find yourself standing under a light, in the telekinesis room. Everyone was clapping- except the exosuited soldiers standing around you, who were bowing politely.
>>24405485Telepath to Manus<Also, I just rewrote the quarantined message in a human programming language and found the void queen's last known location>

>>24405485"Can I finish this by crushing some concrete?"
>>24405485"I'd make a computer two star systems away dance but then you wouldn't be able to see it."
Can, can we cackle maniacally? Cause' we've just found the void queen, and we just so happen to have:a moon movera future seertwo technopathsSo we could, hypothetically, rig up a few bubble drives to an asteroid, and then send it flying at the Voidie's planet.
>>24405579no war crimes

>>24405579Man oh man this is the best plan I've heard all day. Rig the asteroids with anti-void queen devices and we are fucking set. This is how you do relativistic weaponry.
>>24405594She's going around subverting the will of entire planets worth of people. It's hardly overkill. If anything, it's underkill. We don't just want to wreck the planet, we want to crack it in half to make sure she's too weak to recover.
>>24405579I'm kind of partial to "Melting our enemies with righteous waves of screaming atomic fire" myself.
>>24405579r-scatter batteries. best idea.
>>24405614If we show Bob to Theta, can Theta organically bubbledrive?
"Well, guys, anything else you want to see?" You ask, and take a bow. "Because that was quite refreshing after the hard stuff."There was a pause, after you told the exosuits that they could be dismissed."... No, that's fine. Is there anything else you wish to do?""Can I finish this by crushing some concrete?""Yes, one moment please." The intercom said, and the suits made their way back to their positions, talking about how it was 'both freaky and cool' how you'd taken control from them.Soon enough, they wheeled out a large concrete block...And you got an idea. You could try to look backward, to feel exactly how it was when you made that strange crystal... Retrovoyance, or Perfect Recall, or whatever you wanted to name it.Or you could just try what you've been trying.>Retrovoyance and *then* void?>Or just plain void?>Regardless, roll. I'll be taking the first three no matter which is chosen.

Wait. What if we made another crystal, put it in a small vacuum canister, heat it up to "Everlasting Hellfire of Creation" levels, and then fire it at VQ homeworld at a few hundred thousand times the speed of light.Literally unleash a supernova on her.
First, you close your eyes, and take a deep breath, and look.. Backward.>You nod, and then pour your will into your palm, and from there, you visualized - that black sphere of nothingness, that emptiness.>And there it appeared, shimmering in your palm. You nudged it forward, slowly, strength draining from your limbs slowly.>Gently, it bored a hole through the block, tiring you more, but you kept your will intact for it to drive completely through the block.>"Now bring it back. Bore a new hole." Max said, and you slowly, surely, draw it back through the concrete block a second time.>"Okay.. now you can let go of it." He said, and you do - and something hard fell out of the heart of the sphere.>A very small, very shiny sphere of diamond, gleaming with... something. You open your eyes, and pour your will into your palm. you visualized - that black sphere of nothingness, that emptiness...And the sphere appeared, shimmering in your palm. You nudged it forward, and gently, it bored a hole through the block. You weren't as tired as you expected, surprisingly. You bored a new hole back, and then waited just the right amount of time...And dropped it. It was a small, very shiny sphere of diamond...And then it exploded into light and crackling thunder, the glass cracking and the explosion of energy arcing toward you.>Field too long!

>>24405774Sarvesh and Rho appeared at the same time, grabbed you, and teleported you out.You came out, stumbling on the ground. The radiation alarms were going crazy, and the medics were running about rapidly, one jabbing a needle in your arm.Something... at the last moment, something had... Nudged it, somehow. Destabilized it while it was vulnerable. You knew that, with your new tactile sensation... And they... they knew exactly how to do it. When. If they knew that much, they knew what destabilizing it would've done. And it wasn't the Void Queen. It couldn't have been, with all of the cyclic particle generators around, warding her away.But...They tried to kill you.>End of thread!

Has this been archived yet?
So, I think we might be able to retrieve that crystal later. What would y'all think about using it to "overclock" the engine? We could pump the engine up as far as we want and rig a program to detect the heat in the engine, then at the right moment open up a screen to let that crystal drain the heat.

>>24405970You retrovoyanced and made the crystal perfectly. Your roll isn't for 'your luck in this endeavour', but for 'your skill'.>>24406087I am, and have been for a short time- though I do take natural 1s and natural 100s past that limit as long as it isn't hundreds of posts past the list.
>>24406126So it has been changed again.
>>24406154It's always been from the first 'arbitrary amount' of posts after my first post. And it's always been 'natural 1s and natural 100s past that'. It's just that this time, as well as every post this thread, it was the first three rolls that I took.
>>24406154You may notice his post actually SPECIFIED it was first three?Anyway, the average of the first three was 89.666... so obviously it was independent of the actual roll (although a failure might have had things go differently with no crystal to explode in the first place).
>>24405994This was my first assumption. People certainly are quick to blame our friends, when they really have no more idea how our powers work than anyone else.
