>Einstein was hovering not far from you, trying to stay close. You knew you could check his data at any time: http://pastebin.com/CaAF0yS8

Your name is Heather, and you've decided that low pressures is mildly bothersome. Your mask kept hissing when you tried to talk, and your eyes feel like something's trying to pull it out of it's skull. Combine that with the 1.2 Gs the planet was, and it made for a rather uncomfortable experience, walking with a group of centaur- Sarvesh, Pheles, and Sarvesh's brother, Nerull. Following behind you was Theta, apparently feeling none of the discomfort you were, and Omnissiah, who you *knew* was feeling none of the discomfort you were.
The sky was pale blue, and you could see slight twinkles of the brightest stars, and the ground was made of brown dunes of sand, sparse alien grass here or there.
"This way is our home." Sarvesh said, and in the distance, you saw a series of half a dozen great clay domes, combined together via clay tunnels. You could see cables strewn about the outside wall, bolted on, no doubt the lighting and power. A small, shuddering fusion plant sat in a small area with plenty of space. All around you, with plenty of space between them, were similar dome arrangements, and similar plants. Closer to the center of the city, the domes turned into more and more steel, with less of a ramshackle look. Soon enough, there weren't even any fusion plants, as the cables all combined to a single power system, rather than several independent ones.
"And that is the city." Sarvesh said. "We live on the outskirts. But don't worry, things should be a little more comfortable inside. We can pressurize it for you."

I though theta fixed that before the problem with our landing?

"Wow, pretty cool place. The gravity's bothering me more than anything if I'm honest."
>>
>>24438059
>He was too busy repairing Sarvesh's brain matter.

"Wow, pretty cool place." You say, the mask muffling your voice. "The gravity's bothering me more than anything, if I'm honest."
"Sitting down should help with that!" Pheles said.

Some time later, you were sitting down on a dais, mildly uncomfortable, but at least you could breathe again without that mask. Sarvesh sat on another dais, while Theta sat at a third. Pheles was at a refridgerator, pulling out various frozen bits of centaur cuisine for you. Nerull simply said some pleasantries, and made his way out the door again. There was a hiss as the room lost pressure, but the pressurizer quickly got things back to normal.
"That's better, isn't it?" Pheles asked, and pulled you and Theta into a hug. "I forced Nerull to make sure to put a pressurizer in the common rooms because I knew you'd come by."
"You knew I'd come by?" Theta asked.
"No, no, I meant Heather."
"Hah, now I feel like a third wheel. Fifth wheel?"
"No, no, you're cute. I'm glad to meet you!" She said, holding out a lower arm to shake.
And out the window, you could see the enormous, enormous ship, a swarm of drones working on it. You couldn't see thrusters big enough to take it into space, so... why build it on the surface? It'd be stuck there.

"Thanks, Pheles, it's really helping!" You say, and drink one of your drinks. "What's the deal with that ship? It's massive. Who's it for?"
"The Hii'ara?" Pheles said. "Well... It was our uncle's project, and then it was dad's project, and now it's Nerull's project. Mostly. It's really the entire subtribe's project, but Nerull's leading the thing."
"I know what you're thinking." Sarvesh said. "And he's planning to get it off with artificial gravity lifters. Strap ion thrusters to large artificial gravity lifters, have those thrusters carry all three Gs up into orbit. The math worked out. At least what I saw of it."
"Your arms look messed up." Theta said.
"These?" Pheles asked, and giggled. "They are, a little. I pulled them years ago when I fell. Caught myself with my lower arms instead of my upper ones."
"... I could try to fix them."
"What, you're a centaur doctor now?"
"You could say that."
"Alright." She held out her arms. "Do you need any tools, or- ****"
She suddenly buzzed, loudly, and her arms shrunk nearly two inches as the joints closed up. The rubber holders snapped off, and her lower arms was perfectly fine.
"How-... What... " Pheles said, stunned.
>>

"Theta's psionics affect living things." You say. "How do your arms feel now?"
She moved them, waving them from side to side. "They feel better! A lot better! Thank you thank you!"

She grabbed his hand with said lower arms, and brought them up to her mandibles, interweaving them with his fingers for a moment, before looking away bashfully.
"Surprise!" You say, and she whooped, picking you up in her pincers and hugging you, twisting her torso back and forth.

"Did you want to find those components you needed?" Omnissiah asked Sarvesh.
"In a bit. I'd like to visit with my sister first."
Pheles suddenly let go of you, and pulled Sarvesh into a similar hug. It was impossible to actually lift him like she did you, so she just hugged him tightly.
Then, finally, she hugged Omnissiah and Einstein at the same time.

"Heh. No need to hug Einstein, he's not fully sentient like Omni."
>>
"You think Nerull will let me borrow some tools, to fix my ship?"
"No need." Omnissiah said. "I had the foresight to put the maintenance drones in the drone chambers. They're currently repairing the ship as we speak. It seems to be a burst phaeron pipe."
"What happened?" Pheles asked, looking around.
"Everything went all spinny." Theta said.
"So I teleported the entire ship onto the ground." Sarvesh said. "It was... rather difficult."
"Heh, no need to hug Einstein. He's not fully sentient like Omni."
"If I want to hug a chair, I will." Pheles said. Then she set down some frozen, chocolate biscuits. "I made these the other day."
Gingerly, Sarvesh took a bite. "You, ah, made the bread layer too watery. It mixed with the tuna."

You took a bite, and she was right- it was almost like a tuna fritter coated in chocolate, with a bit of uncooked goopiness in the center.
Pheles pouted. "W-well, there's no way I'm going to be as good as you at it. I never took it as a vocation."
"I know, I know." Sarvesh said, and patted her head. He pulled her to his chest for a moment. "They are pretty good, other than that."
Pheles was quiet.
"Thanks, bro." She said.

"so, how do you like Sarvesh's new look?"
>>
"But you'll always be able to pose better than sarvesh for photos!"
"Yeah!" She responded, as you nommed on the food. You started to feel better, no longer tired, and your skin stopped aching in that strange way it had until now.
"So, how do you like Sarvesh's new look?"
"I liked him when he was lighter." She said, and Sarvesh pouted at her. "But he's a lot bigger, too. Looks like he'll take after dad.
"Gotten any better at futurecraft as well?"
"Yeah, i've been reading about the strategies and stuff a lot." She said. "In anticipation for our rematch!"
"I've played a little bit of Futurecraft." Theta said. "Mind if I play with you guys?"
"And I." Omnissiah added.
"No fair, an AI in a supecomputer? You'd totally beat us." She said. "You can join though, Theta."
"Yay!" He said.
"What other cool things can you do?" She asked him.
"Well, things like Heather's hair." He said, nodding to you. That's right, you'd forgotten- your hair was blue.
"Like Heather's hair? What do you mean?"
"Well, it changed colors."
"... No, it still looks.. what did you call it Sarvesh?"
"Braskh."
"Yeah, it's still braskh."
Theta sighed. "And you can't see anything different?"
"Well, it looks a little bluer... but that might just be the light."
"Stupid ultraviolet wavelength." Theta grumbled.
>>
>>24438527
"Come on! Omni really isn't like other AI's, plus this'd be his first time, so he'd be at a disadvantage."
>>
>>24438527

>>

>>
"Hah, well to human eyes it's a completely different hue."
>>
"I didn't realize it'd stay the same UV color. To human eyes, it's a completely different hue." You say. "Can you change that as well, Theta?"
"Yeah, I can." He said, and focused. Your hair went brighter, until it was a neon sky blue, and Pheles clapped her lower hands together.
"That's SO COOL." She said. "You made it Rhal'takk!"

"And come on, Omni isn't really like other AIs." You say. "Plus this'd be his first time."
"Well... fine, all of us might as well play." She said. "Sarvy, can you make dinner?"
"Already on it." He said, and tromped over to the kitchen. Pheles took a seat, and started grabbing at your hair.
"Can you change more than this?" She asked.
"Normally, but I'm rather tired. In the morning I'll be able to change our lungs so that we're used to this pressure."
"Ooooh. Could you turn someone into an entire other species?"
"Not... exactly. I can make someone identically *like* another species, but it won't be quite right."
"Aw, I wanted to be human for a little while!"
"I can make you look and feel and act human in the morning." He said. "Since I won't be wiped out."
"Yay!"

"One of the coolest powers, in my opinion." You say. "He turned Alex into a girl earlier today!"
"Alex probably got really angry."
"She hit me." Theta said, stressing the word she. "But her arms were super noodly so she couldn't really do anything."
"If he does change you, you'll have to stay like that until he gets enough rest. It might take a while."
"That's almost better. I'm so curious about what it's like to have skin and stuff. Well... skin that doesn't burn really badly whenever you touch anything but your carapace." She said.
"You want to play some futurecraft while we wait for Sarvesh to finish dinner?" You ask.
"Sure!" Pheles said, pulling out her personacom.
"I, er, don't have a personacom or anything." Theta said. Sarvesh tossed his from the other room. Despite the heavier gravity, it sailed over Pheles's abdomen, and Theta caught it. "Alright!"

And then you started to play. Pheles chose the tank nomads, as usual, and Omnissiah picked the wildlings, which was rather interesting. Theta deliberated for a long while... and then chose the cute animatronic robots, just like you did. And then you started to play.

While the three of you played, Theta's cutebot army came over the hill, and you quickly clashed up against him.
And then, one of his robots, while fighting you... suddenly tossed one of it's weapons to another bot.
You didn't know they could do that. While your armies fought, you went back to look for upgrades, and found one you hadn't before. One that would let you... interchange parts with other cutebots. Grinning, you quickly got to work. Theta was slow to build, unused to the game, and you pinned his army against a great mountain, slowly destroying them. After you and Theta fought for a time, you came out ahead, and went to rebuild.
"No, you jerk!" Pheles suddenly called, glaring at Omnissiah. "You took that base before I could!"
"It's part of the game, I believe." Omnissiah said. "Come take it."
"No, I'll take Theta's base." Pheles said, sticking out his tongue. Not long after, you built up your army, and made your way to Theta's base- to find Pheles had already taken it over, her armies marching and tanks mounted. Carefully, you threw your long range, high damage parts onto your fastest-running parts, and had the legs run in, fire, and run back out again, repeatedly, dwindling down his armies.

And then the wildlings came.
>Field too long!
>>
>>24439072
The bushes burst open with Leapers and Hunters, pouncing your robots and the drones equally. An enchanted woodsman tore out of the bushes, antlers shining proudly, as he cast a spell to bring vines up around Pheles's flying HQ, pulling it to the ground. And the carnage started.

By the end of it, your one, limping robot was all alone, left in the wreckage of thousands of its kind. You had barely survived. Omnissiah's wildlings were teeming, numberless, unstoppable...

And then the 'YOU WIN' flashed up on the screen. You goggled at Omnissiah- he'd forefieted.
Pheles was busy pouting to Theta, who was pouting back, both of them not even looking at the screens anymore. Your personacom beeped, and you recieved a message from the in-game chat.
[Omnissiah1994 Says: You are my friend. I would not want to defeat you, even in this simulated battlefield.]

You stare at him for a moment.
"Sarvesh is a bad influence on me." He said.
"He's a bad influence on all of us!" Pheles said.
"I heard that!" Sarvesh responded, and came out with several plates on his shell - some centaur cuisine, some human, and you could pick and choose from whatever you want. "So who won?"
"Omnissiah did." Theta said.
"Heather did." Omnissiah said.

"Thanks for cooking, Sarvesh. I'm sure it'll be mildly acidic." You say.
"Only some of it." Omnissiah said, and you dug in.

Nerull came in, and Sarvesh gave him some specially bundled up food- after which he nodded to the three visitors, and made his way out again.
"Nerull's actually like really shy around new people." Pheles said. "And after Kura, well, he hasn't done much but work on that ship."

"It's almost sundown now." Pheles said. "Which means we have like, four or five hours until it's time for us to sleep. If you go to bed now, you should wake up when we do."
"I'd fix it so that we didn't need to sleep at all, but I'm really, really bad at that, and it has to do with brain chemistry." Theta said. "So if I fucked that up, things would go drastically wrong with everybody and everything. Especially since you're a psion."

"then let's not do that. could you turn my hair back to my original color when you change our eyes?"

"good to know, good to know; do you have a place for us to sleep, or will we have to go back to the ship?"

"I'm mildly surprised we haven't run into either of your parents yet sarvesh, whats up with that?"
>>
>>24440071
"I think I can cope with having to sleep."
>>
>>24440071
"Yeah, that's fine. I think I'll head off to sleep soon then. It's been a busy day, now that I think about it. Finished the ship, did some demonstrations and deadly radiation."
>>
>>24440071
What time is it on Heaven's Jewel? Might be fun to poke at Anna's implants before turning in.
>>
>>24440109
Stop. Rolling.
>>
>>24440139
That should become a daily routine.
>>
"Yeah, let's not do that." You say. "Could you turn my hair back to my original color when you change our eyes?"
"Yeah, that'll be easy enough." He said.
"I'm mildly surprised we haven't run into either of your parents yet, Sarvesh. What's up with that?"
"They're out of town right now." He said. "That's... specifically why I chose this weekend."
"Do you guys have a place for us to sleep, or will we have to go back to the ship?"
"You're sleeping in my room!" Pheles said. "I even got pillows and stuff for you so you can be all comfortable."
"I think I'll head off to sleep soon, then." You say. "It's been a busy day, now that I think about it. Finished the ship, did some demonstrations, and deadly radiation."
"Deadly radiation?!"
"It's fine." Sarvesh said. "She was treated."
"Ohh, so that's why you're drinking so much. Okay." She said.

You check the clock, and it was almost 11 PM on Heaven's Jewel right now.

Implant poking time!
>>
>>24440233

i wonder how Anna is doing in her search for our diary.
>>
>>24440233
<Good night, Anna.>
>>
>>24440233
Lets barge in on whatever Anna is doing and kiss her goodnight.

lets see if we can find the implant and poke it once.

then we send a message the regular way "thinking of you; find all the decoys yet?"
>>
Gently tapping into Renard through Einstein, you look out... into the grass, where Anna poked her head out of a hole in the ground. She was covered in dirt, and a shovel sat near... along with three of the decoy diaries you'd set out when you were twelve.
"Aha." She said, looking down at the diary in her hand. Then she tried to open it, and it zapped her. She jumped and squeaked, and then slammed the diary down on the pile. "Another decoy, damnit."

And then you gently poke her implant. It strained you, quite a bit, but it seemed that Heaven's Jewel wasn't far from here. She jumped, and looked around.
<Heather!> She said. <How many of these things did you hide down here?>
>>
>>24440331
<Telling you would ruin the mystery!>
Tickle her through her implants.
>>
>>24440331
<Well, call it subconscious psionics if you want, but I had a sneaking suspicion that one day someone would be hunting endlessly for my diary. So I buried a not insignificant amount of decoys."
>>
Rolled 80

>>24440331
<you know; I don't quite remember; a couple of dozen I think...>
>>
>>24440331

"I'd say you are about half way... maybe i hid more, can't remember clearly. ehehe"

not all of them are buried though.
>>
>>24440331
"Huehuehuehue."
>>
>>24440331
<Quite a few.>
The real diary we took with us to the station and isn't even buried there any more.
>>
>>24440427
That'd be too mean. It should be there, somewhere. Not necessarily buried though.
>>
<Telling you would ruin the mystery!> You say, and tickle her through her implants. She squirmed, and frowned at Renard. Then she just sighed.
"I'm just gonna head to bed now, then. After a shower." She said. "I'll find the real one in the morning. I've dug for treasure before. Just... you know, not treasure that's been hidden so *well*."
<Huehuehuehue> You giggle, and she sighed again, and gave Renard a kiss.
"Mwah." She said. "Goodnight! Renard, stay outside of the bathroom."
Renard stayed perfectly still as Anna climbed into your bathroom and you heard the shower start on.

"You okay?" Pheles asked, poking you. "You just kinda zonked out there."
>>
>>24440452
"Sorry! Was saying goodnight to Anna."
>>
Rolled 10

>>24440452
"hmmm....oh, just poking someone on heavens jewel using my mad psionic skillz"
>>
>>24440452
"Yeah, just talking to Anna on another planet through her drone. We're dating now."
>>
>>24440452
"Sorry, I was doing psiony things."
Poke Anna one last time, then go set ourself up in Pheles' room.
>>
>>24440452
"Yea! Just talking with a friend for a moment. How about one last round of futurecraft before I head to sleep?"
>>
>>24440452

"just having a little moment, nothing to worry about, I've been told it gets much worse when I focus on building things." while grinning.
>>
>>24440452
"Yeah, just chatting to Anna on Heaven's Jewel. Technopathy and a cyborg girlfriend, it's a match made in heaven."
>>
"Yeah, just talking to Anna on another planet through her drone." You say. "Doing psiony things."
"Oh, okay." She said.

You reach out, and brush your mind against Anna's spine once more, making her squeal, and then you grin up at Pheles. "How about one last round of futurecraft before I head to sleep?"
"Okay!" She said, and you got your personacom ready to play.
