=====

You are Harry James Potter, and you learned three months ago that you are a magus. You've tried learning the basics from your best friend - Illyasviel von Einzbern - but that put you in a coma for most of those three months. You think you'll stick to learning from her father, Kiritsugu, to whom you are apprenticed. Outside of the von Einzberns, you don't really have that many friends. You don't really like most people, and those who do wrong by you and yours you hate with all of your hatred. You've resolved to be a better person than your relatives, and strive to act with compassion towards strangers.

At the present moment, you're being lead through a place called Diagon Alley to another place called Gringotts. The brightly colored stores lend the street an air of friendliness that contradicts everything that Mr. Kiritsugu told you about the world of Magi. It's all bright, happy, and chipper, and it seems to be putting your mentor on edge. Mrs. Irisviel seems worried about her husband's concerns, staying close to him for his sake.

Illya, on the other hand, is staring at everything with wonder and joy, almost - but never quite - breaking away from the group to enjoy the sights.

>Field Too Long
>>
>>24440170
You arrive at a larger, white building that holds the name GRINGOTTS emblazoned in gold above its entrance. Upon the great oaken doors, a poem is engraved in silver, warning against theft and greed. It takes a few minutes of waiting to come to the main counter, where a short wrinkly chap - a Goblin, apparently - takes Mr. and Mrs. von Einzbern off to the side to deal with their accounts.

Another Goblin - Griphook - adresses you and Kingsley.

"Does Mr. Potter have his key?" the Goblin asks.

Kingsley reaches into one of his pockets, and pulls out a small, silver key, as well as letter from Dumbledore. He gives the goblin both.

"Very well, right this way," he beckons you over to the back, "We'll take a speed seven Cart, to Vault 687t."

You...
>Ask if you can wait for the von Einzberns.
>See if you can get Illya to come along, at least.
>Go ahead alone.

"Hold on," you tell the Goblin. Illya's looking bored, sitting in the corner pouting while her parents go about the long and tedious processes involved with inserting oneself in the Wizarding Bureaucracy. "It's okay to bring other people down with me - right? I mean, Mr. Shacklebolt is coming..."

Griphook frowns. "It is not... against the regulations, I suppose. Very well."

You scamper over to the von Einzberns. Mr. Kiritsugu seems very engaged with the paperwork, frowning as he meticulously goes over each and every line. He's probably had to do stuff like this before, what with his old jobs for 'Old Man Acht.' You're not entirely sure what those jobs entailed, but they did involve going overseas, which you're fairly sure involves a lot of paperwork.

"Hey Illya," you whisper to her. "You want to come down and see the vaults?"

"Huh," she snaps her head toward you in suprise - she must have been daydreaming. "Yeah, sure. Better than staying up here in the snorefest, I suppose." She turns to her parents. "Pappa! Mamma! I'm gonna go down with Harry to the vaults, is that okay?"

"Of course, sweety!" Irisviel chirps. "Have fun."

You grab Illya's hand, and bring her over to Mr. Shacklebolt and Mr. Griphook. The Goblin hurries the two of you into a bizzare looking contraption on rails, like someone had taken a gyroscope and bred it with a minecart. You and Illya get into the front seat - the Goblin and the Auror take the back. With a lurch, the vehicle starts, and you're shooting across the tracks at an... uncomfortable pace.

[SUCCESS!]

Fortunately, the pace is not so uncomfortable that you lose your breakfast from track sickness - you turn a little green and feel a bit more nauseous than is comfortable. Hell, you're holding up better than Kingsley, who is politely engaged with Mr. Giphook about turning the speed down just a hair or seventy. It's Illya who fares the worst on this train ride.

"Is that a dragon?" she asks when she finishes throwing up over the side. "Because that looks like a dragon. That's sooo~ cooo~l! This has to be the best bank ever and-!" She turns green again, and throws her head over the side again. "Oh God, I just puked on a dragon."

Her eyes light up.

"THAT IS SO COOL!"

The ride ends, and you all step out of the cart - Illya taking a liking to your shoulder, as she hasn't quite regained her balance. Griphook gives you a speech that you don't quite pay attention to, about the vaults and their defense mechanisms and how if you break in you'll be trapped forever. You nod along, more concerned about the Dragon Illya threw up on being mad than the vengeance of bankers.

"Now, concerning your finances," Griphook says, "The Potter Vault is currently inaccessible to you, and won't be accessible until you come of age. If you desire, I can have the accountants prepare a statement of your family investments. Right now, though, the money you have access too is limited to the trust fund James Potter set up in your name."

"Did my family leave me anything besides money?" you ask. Money is useful, you know, but it is far less important than the assets that one can create by using money. You have visions of fabulous expanses of land in the mountains of Italy and the fields of Scotland, secret tools that your parents had created, ancient mystic codes passed down from your forefathers.

"Yes, I had almost forgot," Griphook says, reaching for his clipboard. "Let me see, let me see. You were left a small handful of properties... a small block of apartments in London... the Potter Manor in northern Scotland... and the James and Lily Potter Memorial Museum is owned and operated by the Estate."

He waves to a Vault, marked 687a. "You also have full access to Vault 687a, and the various artefacts found within."

"What sort of artifacts?" Illya asks in curiosity.

Griphook looks at you in askance.

"What sort of artifacts?" you ask, frowning.

Illya pouts as the Goblin responds.

"Various magical and mundane items that have been passed down the Potter Family line since its inception." He says. "Mostly furniture, paintings, children's toys, and older editions of several ongoing texts. Most of the contents were removed from Potter Manor during the War, to keep them from being destroyed."

Would we really have the time to go over all the books though? We're already going to be learning Potter magic, and at this point we know almost nothing about it.

I say we grab some money, and only grab books that look more like dairies or journals of our parents. Any books about magic are probably way above our level at this point. Maybe in a couple years we can take them and either read them ourselves or ask Hermione to explain them to us.
>>

"Alright..." you say, thinking. Well, you've probably got some time to take a look at at least some of your family's artifacts before you leave, but you figure it would be best to draw some of your funds out of the trust first. You might get carried away, if you spend too much time in the artifact vault. "Let me see the money in my trust fund, then."

Griphook nods, and waddles over to the door marked 687t. A stroke of his finger, just so, and the lock clicks open, the mechanical clockwork within the door ticking away as each redundant bolt snaps back into place. After but a moment, the door glides open, smooth as the air, and reveals a rather massive pile of coins.

"Wow," Illya says, "That's a lot of gold..."

Even Kingsley seems impressed with the sum, though he only shows it with a risen eyebrow.

"That's the trust fund?" you ask. "How much is in the vault proper?

"You are the sole remaining Heir of the Potter Household," Griphook says. "A household, that I might add, is only slightly younger than that of Houses Malfoy and Black. Your ancestors were many things, Mr. Potter, but impoverished was not one of them."

"Okay..." You say, "So, how much am I looking at, in pounds?"

"Roughly 90,000, if you deduct the predicted expenses for Texts and supplies for your education," he says. "It depends on how much the alloy we use to make galleons, sickles, and knuts is going for on the muggle market. You've about 10,000 galleons to spend until your tenure at Hogwarts is over."

"Huh," you trail off, your gaze returning to the mound of gold and silver and copper, not quite sure how much of it you should take with you for the shopping that you plan to go on with the von Einzberns. You turn back to the Goblin. "How much of this would you reccommend I take?"

"Well, that depends on what you plan on doing with it, Mr. Potter," Griphook responds. "Assuming that you're plan on going... shopping... today, I would reccommend you draw no less than 100 galleons. 150 or 200 might be better, especially if you think you might purchase... specialty equipment."

You decide to follow his upper end, scooping 200 of the golden coins into one of the brown pouches provided for you at the door of the vault.

[PERSONAL FUNDS: 200 REMAINING]
[TRUST FUNDS: 9800 REMAINING]

"Harry," Illya asks, "Can we take a look at the artifacts before we head up?"

"I wasn't planning on leaving until we had," you respond.

Griphook closes Vault 687t behind you as you leave, every bit as silently as he had opened it. Vault 687a opens in a similar manner to the trust vault, though its contents are much more wide and varied. Furniture decorates the room, paintings of sleeping people hang upon the wall, beneath which lie rows and rows of bookcases. In the back, there is a weapon rack, storing weapons from every era but the modern.

You peruse the books first, searching the lines of shelves for anything that might clue you in to your family history and their possible development of a Thaumaturgical Crest. Griphook did say they were old, after all - perhaps they had some family magic they could pass down. You find some musty old Journals written by your Mother, Grandfather, and someone named Ignotus Peverell.

[INVENTORY GET: Lily's Memoirs, Harold's Diary, Ignotus' Field Journals]

While you were busy with the books, Illya spent her time taking a look at the portraits, going so far as to poke one on the nose. Much to her surprise, the painting - apparently of your grandmother - wakes up, and starts chatting with her. You catch a bit of their conversation as you approach.

"-rs. Potter since Howard Potter married Patty Peverell has been a red head. Or at least auburn. You might have a difficult time with him, deary..."

"Then I'll just keep the gingers a-" Illya catches herself as you come up behind her. "Oh! Hello Harry! This is, ah, your grandmother, Amelia Potter. We were just, ah, talking about you..."

She turns a light shade of pink.

"Oh?" you ask. "What about?"

Illya stammers out something incoherent, but Amelia takes over for her. "Why, those horrible muggles you've been living with. Lily was such a dear young girl, I'm amazed at how horrible her sister and her husband are!"

"Huh..." you mutter. You could have sworn they were talking about red heads... Then again, your mother was one, so...

>Field too long.

You examine the trinkets and furniture, some old memories of your infanthood coming back to you - especially regarding the big plush dog and wolf. You must have loved playing with those stuffed animals as a toddler. Oddly enough, the wolf's tail seems to have fallen off. You take a look at the alchemical equipment as well - though it seems a bit different than what Mrs. Irisviel uses. Perhaps Wizard alchemy is different from Magus Alchemy?

The last thing you make your way to is the weapon rack. There are many more weapons than you could possibly examine in a single trip, but you can get a good overview of everything. Some look like display pieces, others look like regular swords, and a few look like they might be mysic codes.

The only reason why the grail wars were ongoing was because no one won the grail or made a wish on it before it was destroyed. After the wish is granted, the grail shouldn't ever appear again.

If it did appear again, it would be another 60 years after the last one, as Kiristugu didn't order Saber to destroy it this time around.

Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't mind another Grail War after Hogwarts and we become a competent Magus especially if we can summon Moe Lancer, but I doubt there's going to be another war.

Then again, I expressed shock and disbelif that Gilgamesh wasn't an arrogant prick, Arturia reciprocated his feelings, and Kirei didn't go full REJOICE mode at the end of the last war, so what do I know? There might be another war.

You take a closer look at the weapons that your inexpert eye believes might well be a mytsic code. There are all sorts of enchanted blades that the Potter family had collected over the years.

A shortsword, that does not warm in your touch, so cold that your breath seems to freeze as you hold it. A longsword, whose blade catches onto magical flame when you draw it from its scabbard. A rapier that gave you an electric shock when you ran your hand along the blade. A spear that seems much lighter in your hands than a weapon of its size should be. A scimitar that looks to be made of some obsidian metal, a snake engraved into the flat of its blade.

Illya takes particular liking to a simple warhammer, the sides of which are engraved with the symbol of Odin. Must be a germanic thing.

A particular knife catches your eye from amongst the rest. Not because of any special power it might hold - it doesn't seem to have any - but because, unlike the rest of the weapons you see before you, you cannot perceive any lines of death around it. It otherwise is very simple, a dull greyish bit of metal, its hilt wrapped in leather and its blade forged of no particularly grand craftsmanship.

It balances well, and feels... good... in your hands.

"So..." Illya grins chesire. "You wanna see if we can sneak any of these by Mr. Shacklebolt? I doubt he'll approve if we take any of them home with us."

You...

Putting aside how we're we're going full Shiki here, a knife would be the easiest to sneak away with. Plus, if the MEoDP can't kill it, it's more or less indestructible. After all, if something doesn't have any lines of death on it, it's either immune to entropy, or our eyes cannot comprehend it.
>>24443772
Apologies, I don't really want to go full Shiki, but the knife is the most practical for us to wield, and it's the easiest to hide.

now, if we had the invisibility cloak on the other hand, I'd fo for one of the swords to sneak out, and to always keep on us hidden under the invisibility cloak.

"Well," you say, "sneaking out this knife should be easy enough."

Illya tilts her head at you, not quite understanding what you said.

"What knife?" she asks.

"This one," you reply, waving it in front of her face. "The one that I'm holding in my hand, right now."

"Harry," she says, "You're not holding any knife... ooh!" She spots the spear. "We should totally try to take this out! You can give me a piggyback ride, and between the two of us, no one will ever know it was there."

"Illya, that's..." you begin. "Leaving out the fact that I have a perfectly conceable knife right here, what happens when we have to get on the cart again? Or are you going to insist on sitting on my shoulders for the rest of the day, until we get home?"

"Well, I hadn't gotten to that part," she admits. "But still!"

"No, this is a terrible idea," you complain, as she pushes the spear into you arms. "It won't work, and it will be..."

The spear shrinks. No, that's not quite the proper term - it does not become a miniature version of itself, as would be implied by the use of the word shrinks. It, for lack of a better term, collapses in upon itself, in some twisting, non euclidean manner, until all that remains of it is a short baton that you could easily hide in your back pocket. The weight remains unchanged.

"Well, that's interesting..."

"Well, I guess I owe you a piggyback ride, now." You mutter, slipping the baton into your back pocket and sheathing the knife around your waste. "You mind grabbing the scimitar? That way, we can make Kingsley think that he caught our attempt at bringing a weapon out."

"Sure, sure," she says, picking up the black blade. "Now, onward, my faithful steed! To the old timey duds!"

You sigh, picking her up onto your shoulders. She's a bit heavier than you'd expect for such a delicate looking young girl, and you contemplate commenting on her weight for the briefest moment. But that would be a horrible idea, as you're fairly sure her father has been teaching her the martial arts since she could walk. You appreciate the current status quo, where you are not being thrown about by a headlock, thank you very much.

The old timey duds are, in fact, old timey duds. Very nice, no doubt highly fashionable, old timey duds, but old timey duds none the less. Everything is covered in frills and laces even (no, especially!) the men's outfits, and would not have looked out of place in a museum exhbit on the Victorian era.

Illya, of course, is having the time of her life.

"Fine, fine," you tell Griphook, "We'll be out in a second."

You grab one of the less garish looking coats from the collection, a greyish blue thing with golden trimming, and give it to Illya to wear while she's sitting on your shoulders. The sleeves are much too long for either of you, and it hangs on her rather adorably. Slinging the sheathed scimitar over your shoulder, you walk towards the exit of the Vault much like a single tall person. You are greeted by Kingsley, whose face is torn between amusement and annoyance.

"No." he says.

"No what?" you and Illya ask, simultaneously.

"No swords." he says. "Harry, put the scimitar down. You can take it out of the vault when you're older, okay? But right now, you're just a little bit young for something that dangerous."

You doubt that Kiritsugu would agree with the sentiment, but you doubt that the two of them see eye to eye on that type of thing anyways. You relent, putting the scimitar down, leaning it up right against the vault exit and making a gesture that looks like a promise to return for it one day. Illya pouts, giving you back the coat, and makes a few disappointed sounds for good measure.

The trip back up is somehow much smoother. By the time you arrive back at the bank proper, Irisviel and Kiritsugu are waiting for the two of you to get back.

"I hope you two had fun," Irisviel says. "Now, where do you want to go?"

"I would reccomend you all go to Ollivander's first," Kingsley says. "While your approaches to the use of wandless magic are without any doubt impressive, if you are not seen with a wand in hand, people will start asking questions. Questions that you two might not wish to answer."

"Fair point," Kiritsugu says, and the five of you are off, into the 12 o'clock sun.

Ollivander's is an old looking shop just a few stores down from Gringotts. The paint along its outside is chipped, and the wood is worn with weather and the passing of time. On its door, in peeling golden letters is the name of the shop. Ollivaders: Makers of fine wands since 382 B.C. That's near the end of the Age of the Gods, before the common era began and the power of the phantasmal began to wane. If the building is that old, you have no doubt the power of the artifacts created within.

"Welcome!" a voice greets you as you step into the shop. "I had a feeling that Mr. Potter would be arriving earlier than expected, but I had no idea that he would be bringing so many with him..." A frail shadow of a man steps forward from the endless shelves behind the counter. "Ah, Mr. Shacklebolt. 13 inches, ironwood, dragon heartstring. A potent wand for combat; I hope it is serving you well?"

Not waiting for a reply, he turns to the von Einzberns.

"I can assure you," Kiritsugu says, "that my wife and I hold a magical lineage that dates back well into the fourteenth century. Neither of us are squibs, I can assure you."

Ollivander tuts.

"Qwikspell can help in such matters, I suppose," he says, "but allow me to tell you a little secret that few know of. Squibs do not inherently lack the ability to cast spells or work magical artifacts; thus why so they are capable of viewing magical creatures invisible to muggles. Your core is as intact as any other wizards' Mr. Kiritsugu - it is simply the triggering element which you lack..."

Kiritsugu lights up a cigarette with his thumb once more.

"Mr. Ollivander," the Mage Killer continues. "If I were not a Wizard, how would I be able to perform wandless magic?"

"That..." the old man rubs his chin. "Is most curious... are you saying that the trigger... hmmm... would you mind, perhaps, a more... advanced demonstration? Purely for my intellectual curiosity... if one need not the triggering element, then perhaps..."

Kiritsugu obliges. You aren't quite sure what it is he does, besides wave his hand over the rusty bell upon the countertop, but when he removes his hands, the rust is gone. As is the decades of wear - it looks newer than new.

"Curious... very curious..." the wandmaker mutters. "Well, perhaps I should outfit you with wands, if only to see what you might do with them. I must say, you are the most... interesting batch of customers I've had in decades..."

He strolls over to you.

"Now, Mr. Potter, which is your wand arm?

"Ummm..." you hesistate for a second. "Both? I mean, left was my dominant hand, back when I had one, but that was a good long while ago and I hardly remember it." The Dursleys had taken much effort to beat that extra bit of freakishness out of you when you were young, though it didn't quite take.

"Right it is then," Ollivander says, taking a measure of your arm... and letting the meauring tape continue on its own. "Every witch and wizard is born with a particular affinity for the two sides of magic. Those born left handed are more suited for the hard, precise magics - transfiguration, potions, conjuration, runes, arithmancy. Those born right handed veer towards the softer magics - charms, curses, divinations and the like."

"What does this have to do with-"

"Patience, patience," Ollivander says. "You see, while the wand chooses the wizard, it is also the wizard that chooses the wand. Each combination of material, length, and core holds an affinity for certain types of magic, and it is the combination that most resonates with your own capabilities that will, in the end, choose you."

"And the measuring tape?" you ask, as it begins taking your shoulder width into account.

"Is vital to the process, yes." The old man, now among his shelves, gives a small "aha!" and takes one of the boxes off of the shelf. "Now, here is one that I think may well suit you. Holly, Phoenix Feather, 11 inches. Come, come, give it a wave!"

Spectacularly, nothing happens. Well, there is a little explosion of green sparks at the wand's end, but other than that completely harmless side effect, there isn't much of anything that comes from it.

"No, no, no, no, no...." the wandmaker tuts. "Don't attempt to cast a spell with it, just let your magic flow! And why is it that all you muggle raised children try to use that incantation? Are you trying to kill someone, or is it just ingrained stupidity?"

You blink. "Actually, that's a common stage per-"

The moment you grasp the wand of maple, warmth surges up your arm. It feels... right? in your hand, as though it has found its place. The negative is not accentuated, but minimized. What you realized to be your ideal self - hatred and spite tempered by love and compassion; to forge your mind into a sword that can protect those you call your own just as it smites down those who would name themselves your enemy.

Sparks fly out of your wand, rising to a higher height and exploding in a flash of gold and ebon. Illya claps excitedly, and Ollivander looks... interested.

"Curious..." Ollivander says. "Very curious. You hold the weight of death upon your head, Mr. Potter... yet it seems that you also bear the burden of life as well. Perhaps... yes... they are two sides of the same coin, after all. It is only appropriate that you, whom have come closer to death than any wizard has in our history, might have a wand that is especially suited for healing people... curious..."

[SKILL UNLOCKED: WAND LORE - RANK E]
[PERK UNLOCKED: WAND OF MAPLE AND DRYADHEART.]
[RESTORES 1 ADDITIONAL WOUND WHEN HEALING WITH WAND MAGIC]

The rest of your time in the shop passes in a blur - no more than an hour goes by before the five of you leave. Kiritsugu exits with a wand of Yew and Dragon Heartstring. Irisviel's is one of Maple and Phoenix Feather. Illya, surprisingly, takes up the wand that you failed to use properly - the Holly and Phoenix Feather. Neither Mr. Kiritsugu nor Mrs. Irisviel's wands had quite the same vividness in their reaction, but Ollivander assured you that it was as normal as they were.

"Let's head over to Flourish and Blott's now," says Mr. Kiritsugu. "-Lord- Malfoy apparently had them lay away a few books on Wizarding Culture for Harry to better 'understand his roots'."

Kingsley gives him a look.

"Malfoy-"

"Is hardly the person I'd trust on moral judgment, I know." Kiritsugu waves the Auror off. "Still, it's best to know the mind of one's political opposition, that you may know best how to undermine their efforts."

"Fair enough," Kingsley nods.

Flourish and Blotts happens to be right next to the Leaky Cauldron, allowing the more academically minded of the taverns patrons to pick up a text to go with their pints. The shop itself is stuffed like a sausage with hallways of books - the only open area being a small little reading circle for inquisitive patrons and book signings when the author comes by. Couches are squeezed where they can fit at the dead ends of hallways and below arches of bookshelves.

Kiritsugu saunters over to the register, where one of the Managers is waiting with a pile of books labeled "von Einzbern and Potter". It takes a few minutes to find the newest editions of the standardized book list, but after that, you're free to explore...

Mundane Fantasy involves preposterous mechanisms created with SCIENCE, such as Supercomputers, Automobiles, and (in the less realistic examples of the genre) Rockets to the Moon.

Your explorations taake you towards the nonfiction section, where there lie many interesting books regarding magical theory and the art of wizardry. Unfortunately for the prospects of any infodumps occurring, you understand all of jack shit regarding these particular mysteries, and the books leave you perplexed and rather confused. The only book you find that you can even begin to understand is a leatherbound tome entitled "Spellcraft for Squibs: A Reference for the Rest of Us."

You decide that this particular tome might well be worth the 1 Galleon price tag, if only as a basic primer regarding mundane magic.

The book placed discretely under your arm, you continue your wanderings down the passageway of books until you manage to stumble upon Illya in the Historical/Biography section. She's plopped herself down upon the couch, reading one of the books - some biography entitled "Holiday with the Hags". You know you're not supposed to judge a book by its cover, but damn does that blonde fellow have the smile of a creeper.

"Illya, what the heck are you reading?" you ask.

"Swill," she responds succintly. "The most awful, falsified swill that I have ever read. The story of a particularly vile man who could have made a fortune off his prose alone, but felt the need to claim the deeds of other people to bolster his ego." She looks up at you, her expression torn. "I can't tell if I should hate the man for being a lying arse, or be in awe of the imagery he invokes when he describes his hair..."

"And you know the man's a liar, how?" you ask.

"The way this reads," she says. "It's too different from the way Papa talks about his old job. The unimportant things are incredibly vivid, romanticising and minimizing the bits that people who've actually been there would know are important." She makes a face. "And then there's the fact that he's so pretty, when he -describes- wounds that should have left scars on his face..."

"Maybe it's magic?" you ask.

"Maybe it's horse doo doo." she replies.

You look around at the shelves - you're clearly not going to be able to convince her to give the bloke the benefit of the doubt - searching for anything that might an interesting read.

"So, aside from the swill," you begin, "is there anything interesting back here?"

"Oh, yeah!" She says, in a much more cheerful voice. "The twenty seventh edition of 'A Brief History of the Magical World' has a chapter dedicated to you and the fellow your forehead managed to stop!"

She passes you a book - parchment pages bound in blackened leather, the title inscribed on the front cover in golden leaf. A price tag dances along the spine, three galleons.

"I'm in a history book?"

"You're in a history book."

You stare at the tome, and you notice one thing that really stands out about it. It is thick. Very, very thick. The type of book that you might use as a weapon, given the necessity. It's hardly what you might consider light reading, and you wonder for the briefest instant how the bloody hell Illya managed to find the chapter on you and that Voldemort fellow in less than an hour.

"Care to give me the cliff notes, version?" you ask. Your voice is small - it's not that the book intimidates you or anything, its just that the book intimidates you. Illya shakes her head, a little smile on her face.

"It's on page 598, second paragraph down," she says. "Long story short, despite the fact that no one was there to witness your miraculous defeat of the Dark Lord Moldypants, everyone is quite sure that the curse rebounded off of your forehead and slew him." She shrugs. "It's a fair guess, mind you, because he hasn't exactly been around since he tried to off you. But it reeks of assumption and propaganda."

You flip to the passage, and start reading aloud.

"And so it came to pass that on October 31, 1989, the Dark Lord Voldemort did assault the safehouse where hid James Tiberius and Lily Anne Potter, with their son, Harry James Potter. James Tiberius Potter battled valiantly against the Dark Lord, buying time for Lily Anne to begin an ancient ritual. He fell to the Dark Lord's wand at 11:24 PM (23:24 Muggle Time). Lily Anne Potter fell five minutes afterward, her death fueling the ritual that would slay the Dark Lord. At 11:30 pm (23:30 Muggle Time), the Dark Lord turned his wand upon Harry James Potter, the nexus of Lily Anne's ritual, and was slain."

Become indignant that even IF everything in the book is true, obviously it's our mother that slew the Dark Lord (also, they seriously call him that unironically? jeez), not us. No fair for us to take the credit.

>>24448983
Why can't we do them all? You can express disbelief, but then kind of wonder. If, and it's likely BS but IF what was said was actually true, how would you reconstruct the ritual? He is apprenticed to Kerry after all, man's gotta have a brain in there. He never seemed to be the kind that would suffer fools lightly. Iri was just ignorant, and was so very eager to learn, and she learned fast! Smart girl that one.
