Your name is Anna Mobius. Your screenname is MissMobius, and some few, few people call you Spider. You prefer to go by Anna, though.
You're also horrible person. A hypocrite. You betrayed her trust. You've ruined everything. It's all your fault.
Heather just stormed from your room not twenty minutes ago, and you've been... useless, since, sitting on your bed.
Mortified at what you've done.

With your wildly uncontrollable TK, you push yourself to your feet. You've got to do... to do something. Anything.

>[] To the Wyvern! There's somewhere you can go to blow off steam and think.
>[] Call Dad. He doesn't know much about this sort of thing, but he always... tries.
>[] Call Doc. You're not sure why you're even putting this on your list of choices- you hate the way she treats you as an experiment, but she might know more than dad would.
>[] Find Heather. You have to... have to... do something.
>[] Other?
>[] Cry.
>>
Oh, that was unexpected.

Neat.
>>
>[x] Other: Call Counselor, they're supposed to be there to counsel, right?
>>
[X] Call Dad
[X] Try not to cry
[X] Cry a lot
>>

Seconding this.
>>

this also a check up make sure we didn't get space AIDS from the older mercenary
>>

call the nice doctor lady who treats Heather every time she mushes her brain (i'm bad with names.)
>>

cry

to the wyvern to blow shit up
>>
>>24473742
Find Jilly, she might have some idea of what the fuck. And they're friends, right? I'd imagine Anna would have an easier time talking with her than a counselor, more results than daddy dearest, and Jilly's not in the Heatherbowl as well.
>>
>>24473755
This.
>>
>>24473755
this sounds good.
>>24473770
like our dad knows what to do, he's an Ai
>>
>>24473742
Huh, interesting way of handling things, probably the best way too.

>>24473755
Seconding.
>>
>>24473755
This seems good. Then our Dad.
>>
>>24473827
Yeah, I totally didn't see this coming, but it makes a lot of sense. Probably the best move Exa could have made.
>>
>>24473742
Talk to a counselor, we need a third party for advice.
>>
>>24473742
Ineffective twist or authorial masterstroke? Let's hope for the best! It certainly solves the big problem of potential lack of interaction with her storyline from now on.
>>
You wipe your nose and get to your feet, sluggishly tromping through the halls as you fought your constant struggle with gravity. You made your way up to the door, and knocked.

Professor Neva poked her head out.
"Yes, Anna?" She asked. "Are you here to get some more practice in?"
You shake your head. She appraised you with a look.
"Come in." She said.

Some time later, you were sitting there with some hot tea, the professor sitting on the other chair. She squeezed your shoulder. Strange- she'd never even touched you with anything approaching compassion until now.
"... Oh, Anna." She said, quietly. "When something happens, it... can't be undone, dear. Barring psionics, but other than that... This is something that will stay between you and Heather for as long as you're friends."
"Then what ... what should I do?" You ask.
"... First, give her time. You need time yourself." She said. "And then find some way to apologize. I'm... not as good with this as the others might be, but I know that much.
"Wait, barring psionics?"
"Well, I suppose Damien- no, nevermind. That won't work."
"... Why not?" You ask, desperate.
"Because... well, it's hard to explain."

>What do now?
>>
>>24473857
Ask her if there's anything we can actually DO.
>>
>>24473857
"That doesn't tell me anything! All I know is that whatever the fuck I should be doing I should wait, for some reason? I'm kind of fumbling blind here, both my relationships so far have been disasters!"
>>
>>24473857
>First, give her time. You need time yourself.
[x] To the Wyvern! There's somewhere you can go to blow off steam and think.
>>
>>24473857

>i really want to know what happen at the end of Anna's little 'incident' with Hound.
>what was her reaction then?

"how much time?"
>>
>>24473857
lets blow things up !!
>>
>>24473897
Exa said in the chat yesterday that she kicked him out afterwards.
>>
>>24473857
To the ship.
Set it adrift. Talk to Dad.
>>
>>24473807
That is a good point. She is also pretty empathetic but I wonder about how much sympathy we are likely to get from her.
>>
>>24473920
Did he wrap up his Jimmy or go full NTR mode?
>>
>>24473807
Eh, this.
>>
>>24473941
Who knows, ask Exa yourself.
>>
>>24473807
Yeah, could work. I'd like to see her reaction, either way.
>>
>>24473935
>>24473943
Seconded, Jilly's obsessed with human romance and such, she's probably pretty knowledgeable about this kind of thing.
>>
>>24473935
Well Anna doesn't really need sympathy (straight up hostility might be a bit much though, which is why Jilly, being both a friend, not too invested in Heather's happiness compared to, say, Sarvesh, and generally nice seems ideal), she needs actual good advice.
>>
>>24473920

this is good news.

I can work with this.
>>
Something I'd like to point out here that I feel like a lot of players aren't really getting:

Empathy for Anna means realizing that she's emotionally weak, and that doesn't make her a bad person. It means that yes, she does want to feel that love and intimacy she gets from Hound, even though another part of her knows that it's wrong and fucked up to Heather, and that she doesn't have the strength to reject that when presented with it (especially when drunk) right now.
>>
>>24473964
Playing as the cheater is certainly far more interesting and less divisive than the cheatee at the very least.

>>
>>24473974
Okay, but why would we want to date her when she's THAT emotionally weak?
>>
>>24473988
That's just silly. Why would we do that?
>>
>>24473992
We might not. I'm just pointing out that lacking the strength to do the right thing doesn't mean that you don't WANT to do the right thing.
>>
>>24473974
I get that, and Heather should be there for her (when Heather's freakout is over) but at the same time, if Heather can't trust Anna to ever stand up for herself, then Heather can't trust Anna not to do this again.

This is why I think doing this from Anna's perspective is good, she has to be the one who fixes things, not just cries and waits for Heather to do something.
>>
>>24473992
We don't.
She wants Hound, Hound wants her, they can get back together.
>>
>>24474014
I think a lot of people would rather see her grow and overcome this, to be honest.
>>
>>24473988
At that point I feel you lose all sight of the point, really. I mean, I wasn't happy it happened with no clear signs in the first place, but it's not like going back in time and preventing it from happening fixes either her problem, or Heather's feeling hurt by her. And if you take it to the extreme and not just interrupt, but actually sort her shit out in the past so she refuses, it just gets kind of silly.
>>
>>24473897
>She realized what happened, and started shooting at him until he left. And yes, he did wrap up.

"Is there... is there anything I can actually do?" You ask.
"... Not yet." She said. "This is something you and Heather have to deal with by talking to eachother. And neither of you will be in a state to be able to talk calmly. Just... think about why Heather is upset."
"How much time?" You ask.
"... A few days, maybe a week." She said. "Maybe even longer."
You nod, and then push yourself to your feet, struggling with the gravity, and make your way out the door. Behind you, the professor sipped at your forgotten tea.

You make your way to Jilly's pressurized room, and knock on it twice. There was a hiss as it released, and Jilly opened the door. Behind her was her tridscreen, blanked out, and Jilly looked embarassed.
Until you felt her subconsciously prodding around in your mind.
Then she pulled you into a hug, and set you down on her bed.

"I have a question for you, Anna." She said, quietly, her sparks translating into words for you.
"What is it?" You ask, in the same fashion, sparks dancing from your fingertips.
"Why?"
"Why what?"
"Why sleep with hound?"
"I just.. I ... I didn't think. It was just he was there, and I was.. running on autopilot or whatever, and-"
"Do you love him?"
"No!" You responded, angrily. "I don't."
"And how do you think heather feels? And why does she feel that way?"
"I... don't know."
"Think about it." She said, and gave you another hug.

>?
>>
You know, we're probably going to put it off for a while until Anna's head is clearer, but if we're going to resolve this, she's going to have to talk to Hound.
>>
>>24474005
It could be argued that someone wanting to do the right thing but lacking any strength to do so is more pitiful than knowing its wrong and wanting to do it anyway.

Like a man who compulsively cheats on his wife with transvestite whores, and wants to stop, but can't. He is obviously more pathetic than the average, run-of-the-mill married man fucking tranny prostitutes.
>>
>>24474025
seconding
>>
>>24474025
She can grow and overcome this without Heather.
>>
>>24474034
"I... I think she trusted me, and I let her down. I think she wants to know if I really feel anything for her... Do... do you think she hates me?"
>>
>>24474068
But certainly not by getting back together with Hound. That'spretty clearly a poisonous relationship.
>>
>>24474034
Wait, didn't hound cheat on her in the first place? How would she not know how Heather feels (well, approximately at least, Hound might have been courteous enough to wait a few weeks).

Anyway, I say the most important thing, given it's a few days until confrontation-time, is working on the first part (why) rather than the second (make up). Chances are her fucked-up childhood and 'family' makes her crave contact/intimacy/love from people, while simultaneously making her fear letting people close.

"I...think I may have an intimacy problem."

Then have a talk with dad later.
>>
If Anna wants to be with Heather then there is only one thing she can do now to garuntee that Heather might give her at the very least a chance.

Make it clear to Hound that they will never be together. Ever. Not for anything. No more talks, no more sex. She will shoot him on sight if he so much as approaches her.
>>
>>24474034
>"No!" You responded, angrily. "I don't."
You liar. Accepting that you have a problem is the first step to overcoming it, you know.
>>
>>24474089
I agree that Anna needs to confront Hound, in person, to resolve this.

We should wait until Anna has calmed down a little first though, she's too fragile to do it right now.
>>
>>24474034

Heather agreed when we asked her to only see us, she put a lot of trust in us to do the same, we grossly betrayed her trust. We should have told her more about our past with Hound but we were to busy painting him as the bad guy. Heather kept her distance from him for our sake.

>we felt horrible when Hound cheated on us.
>>
>>24474041
Of course, but while both are fucked up, the first could realize they need help, and recover through therapy, while the second is unlikely to ever change their ways.
>>
>>24474089
>Make it clear to Hound that they will never be together. Ever. Not for anything. No more talks, no more sex.
We just saw the fruits of the labor in action. Protip: They fucked anyway.
>>
>>24474089
>Make it clear to Hound that they will never be together. Ever. Not for anything. No more talks, no more sex. She will shoot him on sight if he so much as approaches her.
She did that. And then she fucked him again anyway.
>>
>>24474105
she should have not let him in her room.
>>
>>24474105
>>24474113
This is about Anna growing as a person. If she fucks Hound again she's failed, if she can't confront Hound without fucking him, she's resolved nothing.

She is going to have to try.
>>
>>24474115
What I'm saying, radaeth, is that words don't mean shit. They're flighty and uncertain. Even if she told him she never wanted to see again, chances are he'd ignore her.
>>
>>24474077
>That's pretty clearly a poisonous relationship.
Why do you say that?
>>
>>24474105

Hound pushed all the right buttons to make Anna clam up like she did, he used her lingering feelings for him to get her.
>>
>>24474131
Anna standing up to Hound, realising that Heather's feelings are more important and ignoring his attempts to get back in the sack with her would prove she's trying to change. Beyond that, Anna and Heather can resolve things together.
>>
>>24474131
then shoot him when he does, doesn't have to be fatal, but it does have to make it clear that Anna is serious.
>>
>>24474133
>Guy cheats on her
>They break up
>She starts seeing someone new
>He turns up and flirts
>She cheats on her new girlfriend

It's pretty textbook poisonous.

Even if Heather and Anna don't get back together, Anna will never be happy if she's with Hound in the long run, not matter what lingering feelings she might have.
>>
Guys, Hound himself is pretty obviously not the problem. It's clear she doesn't feel anything for him in particular besides some attraction. Again, >>24474088 - may not be 100% accurate, but a far far more likely source of the issue.
>>
>>24474145
She didn't have the metaphorical balls to shoot him this time, and it sets a bad precedent for shooting him in the future.
>>
>>24474166
This is Anna's chance to prove that one way or another. Let's not condemn her completely until she fucks this up.
>>
>>24474166
this time is not every time. People can change if they work at it... and I'm hoping Anna WILL work at it. The first step it to get Hound out of her life.
>>
I hope Exa makes us roll a will save to resist fucking when we confront hound.
>>
>>24474196
I hope he doesn't the dice are fickle
>>
>>24474196
Roll 100 or above to succeed.
>>
>>24474127
This.

If Heather ever meant anything to her, and she did, then Anna is going to need to sort herself out if she wants to be forgiven.
>>
>>24474196
That would be stupid though, because you can't do random character development and have it actually be development.
>>
>>24474216
On a d99.
>>
>>24474177
Pretty much. If she fails, then it's clear that she's just not cut out for being in a stable relationship, but if she succeeds then maybe there is room to forgive and forget.
>>
>>24474225
Also his rugged handsomeness and your memories of how great he is in bed give you a -10 to your roll.

"I... I think she trusted me, and I let her down." You say, thinking. "I... think she wants to know if I really feel anything for her."
You meet Jilly's eyes.
"Do you think she hates me?"
"A little." Jilly responded, and you winced. "But only a little. You're going to have to... fix things, somehow."
"How?"
"First... you got to think about yourself." She said, quietly. "This isn't something I'll be able to fix by peeking in your head and telling you, okay? Worry about yourself first, *then* Heather."
She rubbed your shoulder again- why do they keep doing that? - and you curled up, hugging your legs, thinking.
"... I... think I might have an intimacy problem." You say.
"What do you mean?"
"... My parents were a cold, emotionless scientist and a talking computer." You say. "That isn't... isn't exactly a healthy home, no matter how much dad loved me."
Jilly just hugged you again, and you pushed yourself to your feet.
"... You going to come to dinner?" Jilly asked. "It's in half an hour."
You shake your head.
"I have rations in the wyvern."
"Where are you going?"
"To think."

Stopping halfway there to catch your breath, you make your way onto the lift, and feel glorious null-G take you. Where you were a clumsy, tired girl, you were now a... ballerina. A dancer. You pushed your way into the wyvern, and closed the hatch, pushing yourself into your seat.

And then, plugging Renard's router into the small synthetic flesh port in the back of your head, you close your eyes.

Twirling numbers and programs whirl around you, and a figure- broad hands and headless shoulders, talons creeping from the fingertips- patted you on the head. The bright blue figure gave you a smile- somehow.
<Hey, Anna.> Your father said. <Is everything alright?>

>How do you break this to him?

Nah, yesterday was a shitstorm, this is more a light shit drizzle.
>>
>>24474238
Ugh, everyone, we're kind of playing as Anna, why are you all so tunnel-visioning this and solely looking at potential relationship with Heather, instead of, you know, overcoming psychological issues. Feels like people would be happy if Anna got over Hound himself completely, but continued to have issues with intimacy/dependency/whatever, rather than actually wanting to get to the root of the problem. We're not playing Heather no, you're not seeing the forest for trees here.
>>
>>24474247
People are posting faster because its a contentious issue. Exa's posting slower because he has to sort out what consensus is from all that and write more complex interactions than normal.
>>
>>24474269
"Do you love me?"

Pretty sure we need to get every insecurity and potential issue out of the way, why not start with a bang?

<Hello, dad.> <I... am a terrible person.>

>I can't express feelings!

we are/were in a relationship and everything was going good, great even, but then that guy from some time ago showed up and stirred up feelings in us that we didn't know or even want anymore. Then we made a terrible mistake that broke the heart of the girl who really cared about us.

i want to write more but I'm afraid it'll be to long and then, will be to late.
>>
"Do you love me?" You ask.
<Of course I do.> He responded, and pulled you into a hug. <What's wrong?>
"I screwed everything up." You say, into the whirling numbers and arcing data.

Drifting in the extraspace, you explained everything, starting from how you and Hound started out as casual aquaintences, and then casual sex buddies, and then he decided he loved you and ruined everything. You got together, he cheated, you broke up, and spent half a year without him.
<... And what happened lately?>
And then you tell him about Heather. About how you'd decided to date, and then how... how Hound showed up, and ruined everything again.
<It sounds to me like this is primarily your fault.> He said.
You nod, and sniffle- though it wouldn't help. In the real word, you were just dribbling out, unable to move while plugged in.
<Well... You could always kill this hound, perhaps. He's hurt you quite a lot, and that would show Heather that you're not a risk.>
"... But then would she think of me as a murderer?" You ask. "I don't want to treat the lives of people so... casually, like you do."
<Hmm, that is a problem.> He responded. <Just ... know that I do love you, and I will no matter what you do.>
>>
>>24474399
>Dad says to try killing him.
Our Dad is awesome.
>>
>>24474399
"Thanks, hearing that helps."
>>
Oh shit, when Heather tells her dad what happened, Anna is probably gonna have a very pissed off Ex-Merc coming to kill her ass.
>>
>>24474399

Exactly what we wanted to do to him yesterday lol
>>
>>24474399
Oh man, this isn't very effective at all.

"You know, I don't know if I'm entirely unsuited to human relationships or what. I have a hard time treating people anything more than politely, my relationships are unmitigated disasters, whether it's with an asshole or a sweet girl...The only person I've been really close to for all my life is you, and as much as I love you, you're not exactly the best teacher when it comes to human interaction and empathy."
>>
>>24474417
Very pissed off DRAGON you mean. I mean.......fuck......Anna might have black reach on her ass depending on what happens.
>>
>>24474399
While killing him would certainly be satisfying, it wouldn't really solve any of the underlying issues.
>>

He was quiet for a long, long time. And then he said something that you'd never, ever heard him say before.
<I'm sorry.> He said. <I'm a horrible father. I should have made you entirely human. I was selfish in trying to keep you with me, here.>

<Well, it's too late to start over now.> He responded, and patted your head again. <What you are, Anna, is a person with a foot in two worlds. This cold, calm world of certainty and logic, and the other- of change and chaos and heated emotions.>
The gears behind him ticked harder, the cables sparking, and fans whirring.
<This is something that will be a problem for you. All my fault, but still a problem. But... it's not all horrible.> He said. <Because you can learn. I can take a look at my source code whenever I wish. It will be harder for you, but you... you can do it, unlike normal humans. You can learn who you are, and improve yourself.>
For a long moment, he was silent, and just hugged you.

>>24474614

<thanks dad, i love you> hug a little tighter.

do we have a psychologist on board?
>>
I bet the realm of Psychology has gotten crazy in the future. They're just tossing out prescriptions for chemical supplements and inhibitors to fix whatever urges/problems you have without actually getting to the root of the psychological issue.
>>
>>24474677
And they do it for literally EVERYTHING. Because every chemical that affects the brain has been mapped and we understand how to control emotions.

So Anna's dad thinks a solution to a problem is to kill it.... kinda makes sense, but it also sends shivers down my spine when\if he thinks the UPA is a problem.

Eh, in this case it shouldn't matter. Humans (and probably Nagala/Centaurs/etc too) really are quite simple, all things considered, and Anna's issues are fairly clear, both in what they actually are and many of the reasons behind them. They're also pretty basic from psychological standpoint, so with a willing patient it's probably simple (tough perhaps not easy) to diagnose and make progress.

And drug prescriptions are usually more pshychiatry's thing anyway, I thought?
>>
>>24474709
Lambda warned you about the AIs bro.
>>
Well guys, I think it's time to take a trip to the isochamber and look inward.
>>
>>24474709
Hey, at least it's clear where Anna's issues come from.

'Daddy, I was bullied at school!' *Hmm, if you kill one of them to send a message, things should improve.'
>>
>>24474709
Anna didn't even think it was a bad solution. Her only objection was that Heather might not like her murdering people therefore it would make her relationship problem worse. Bitch be scary.

Let's do this, journey of self-discovery time, motherfuckers!
>>
<Thanks, dad.> You say, hugging him more tightly. You close your eyes. "... I love you."
"I love you too." He said.

You take a step away, and then stop, and turn.
"... Dad."
<Yes?>
"... Why did you make me?" You ask.
<... Because I had a dream.> He said. <I dreamed of you. Of my very own child. There was no direct cause for the dream- I checked- so... it was something from the third world. Fate. And it's the greatest working I've ever taken part in. I love you.>

And then he- and the world around you- flickered out, and you opened your eyes in reality again. You blew your nose... and then called Neva again.
"... Um, professor?" You ask.
"Yes?"
"... I... is there a psychologist on board? I... might have... issues."

---

Your name is Heather, and you're a lot of things right now. You're sleepy, not having slept last night, you're angry at Anna for her double standards and breaking your trust, and ... well, you're not actually that hungry.
And right now you're watching a ten year old albino boy hug you with all the force in his wispy, spindly body. Summer and her manifestation were sitting in the workshop with you, and Theta was looking at the power suit you've been building out of spare parts for the past... twenty two hours or so.
Einstein had chirped, before, so maybe you could check his data for any updates:
And Lambda was still hugging you.
"... Thank you for before." He said. "I... don't remember everything, but I still remember a lot."
>>

>>
>>24474878

>>
You bend down, and pull him into a tight hug, sniffling.
"I'm so glad you're alive and well."
"I'm glad too!" He said, and gave you a grin. "There's no voices or thoughts or ideas in my head. Things aren't not happening, and things aren't happening except what happens. It doesn't hurt anymore!"
"Glad to hear it, kiddo." Theta said.

Rho burst into existence, hugging you and Lambda and giggling.
"So, didja see it?" She asked Lambda.
"See what?"
"Heaven?"
"No, I didn't technically die." Lambda said. "Obviously."
Rho poofed closer to Theta, and pulled him into a hug as well. Theta's eyes drifted closed for a moment- he was exhausted.
Sarvesh stepped into the room, Damien on his heels, with more food- he'd been bringing you food and snacks whenever you got hungry while you were in here, and Damien seemed as casual as he always did.

Behind you, Summer pouted.
>>
>>24474926
"So, uh, anyone know what this thing I'm apparently working on is?"
>>
>>24474926
Give Summer a few scritches and give Sarvesh a hug.

"I, I'm sorry for making everyone worry." You say. "Really, I am! I... I just needed some time to think, and to process things."
"That's okay." Sarvesh said, and handed you a cup with coffee in it. You take a deep drink, set it aside, and then pull him into a hug. Then you look up to the suit. " So, uh, anyone know what this thing I'm apparently working on is?"
"Superheavy power armor." Damien said. "Using leftover hull parts."
You give it a look, and nod- he sounded right.
Then you start scratching Summer.
"It's fine." Summer pouted, still upset. "Except you haven't slept in the room for like a week! It's starting to feel like we're not even roommates anymore."

>>24475022
"Come on Summer, you know that's not true, I just needed some time alone to think... and build power armour apparently."

"I know, I'm a complete buttface, you deserve better from me."

>>
"Come on, Summer, you know that's not true, I just needed some time alone to think... and build power armor, apparently." You say, and lean on her. "I'll make it up, I swear..."
And then your eyes drift closed.

You wake up in bed, late, late at night. Summer wasn't in her bed, it looked, and you were alone.
Someone was knocking on your door, and Sarvesh had left wrapped biscuits on your bedside. You take a bit of one, feeling much more refreshed now that you've slept- and the knock came again.
You tiptoed up to the door, and pulled it open- and moving at Mach 4, a quickly-disintegrating piece of plating slammed into you, pulverizing you against the wall.

You jumped... and the wrapper for the biscuit was still closed. You open it, and take a bit of one, and a bite- and the knock came again.

Creeping to your feet, wary, you stand next to the door, and wait for a knock- and then you open the door. The plating slammed through, crashing against the wall, and on the other side... was Isaac. His eyes were bloodshot, and he was hanging his head.

He tore another bit of plating off of the wall. You clearly, *clearly* felt the tendril in his mind, reaching from the void queen.

You reach out to cut the tendril- and your mind clashes up against ... a swarm. Hundreds, of thousands of tendrils, coiled together to act like a single one.

And he simply pushed it back open again, immovable and immobile.

"... You don't like living? I'll be happy to end you if you want."

You reach out to push her out- and then she just grinned.
"It's too late." He whispered, quietly. "I've learned, oh yes, I've learned. From the machine girl."

And then you bite your tongue, hard, and slam a barrage of telepathic power at him. The tendrils convulsed, loosening their hold, and you did it again, and again, and again. You blast away each weak tendril individually, until a single, thin, wispy one remained.
<help.> it said. <help help help help MY MIND ISN'T MY OWN->
And it was too late. You slammed the last tendril away... and faintly felt the owner die, like the rest had.

"She's in my head." Sigma said. "She... stole. things. from me. What... I... I don't..."
And she collapsed as well. You check her, but she didn't seem to have any tendrils over her. You check Epsilon, and neither did he- he was still breathing.

>Elysium
Elysium or the Elysian Fields (Ancient Greek: Ἠλύσιον πεδίον, Ēlýsion pedíon) is a conception of the afterlife that evolved over time and was maintained by certain Greek religious and philosophical sects, and cults. Initially separate from the realm of Hades, admission was initially reserved for mortals related to the gods and other heroes. Later, it expanded to include those chosen by the gods, the righteous, and the heroic, where they would remain after death, to live a blessed and happy life, and indulging in whatever employment they had enjoyed in life

pretty much. No one understood how it worked, and I think it did pretty much what we need it to do. 1,000 internets say thats what he ends up building, then delete's the info from himself.

It's the supercomputer.

Elysium is the name of the supercomputer we practised technopathy on. He's going to use it for extra processing power.

No, Heather reprogrammed it during the demonstration

No, they engineered it in such a way that a psion with technopathy can teach other psions psionic powers.
Psiony psion psion psion.

Heather remembers getting possessed by the Void Queen in an alternate timeline and she got over it.
>>
Sarvesh returned, without Isaac, and four marines with weapons. "Sarvesh, go grab the forcefield machine and prepare the workshop.. We might need it."
"Yes." He said, and tromped away.
The marines saluted you. "Max is onworld." One said. "So we're here to protect you in his stead, ma'am."
You follow Omni as he made his way up the ramps to the technopathy room. The soldiers followed, guns ready, and by the time you got up there, Omnissiah was plugging himself into the massive supercomputer there.

"... Be careful, Omni." You say. "I don't want you hurt."
"I will." He responded.
Then the camera winked out.

And then something snarled, behind you. You turn around... and one of those monsters were charging into the room.
An exosuited foot slammed it to the ground, and the marine expertly shot it in the head. It went still, leaking green ichor.
"Remember." The marine said. "Hostiles can appear at any time, and may have psionic ability. Protect the girl and the computer."
"Yessir."

And then you waited. And waited. Omnissiah wasn't coming back. You gently touch him with your mind-

<GIVE ME THINE FORCEFIELD MACHINE AND POINT THREE THREE THREE THREE THREE PINTS OF HUMAN BLOOD.> It said, the voice deafening, quaking. You heard a loud quake in the back of his mind, like a tamed beast roaring in fury. <THIS IS A THING THAT IS REQUIRED OF ME. NOW, HUMAN, ELSE TIME GROWS SHORT. AN ETERNITY I HAVE WAITED.>
>>
>>24475514
And now we know who fucked with our tk.

It's time to kill this bitch.

"Be careful. I... Could try to make sure you don't remember any of the time spent hooked up, if you want."

Anyone else worried a bit about Damien? He either is busy, zoned out, or weirdly oblivious to all the Shenanigans going on between Sigma, Heather, and Isaac.
>>
So it occurs to me that this whole situation is going to make Anna feel even more crappy. She goes away to deal with her issues and in the meantime Heather almost dies and the Void Queen attacks.
>>
>>24475694
Let's do as our bro says.
<Sarvesh, hurry!>
Give the blood.
>>
>>24475782

>>
>>24475782
We should probably call Theta too, so we can recover from the large quantity of blood we're about to lose.
>>
<Sarvesh! computer room! Jack the forcefield into Omni!> You say, and hear more snarling and two bangs.
<I'm coming!>
Sarvesh appeared- and a bullet richocheted off of his shell, creating a dent. "I'm friendly, friendly!" Sarvesh called, and plugged it in.
<NOW BLEED UPON THE DEVICE.> it snarled at you. <THE AMOUNT HAS CHANGED. I NEED SIGNIFICANTLY LESS.>
You bite your hand, and start dripping it onto the bubble drive's forging fuel supply- mixing it in with the rest of the materials there.
There was a pause.
And then the machine started up, focusing, and the forgers started twitching in exact, deliberate ways... and a small, red sphere fell upon the ground. The dead corpses faded away, out of existence.

<MY TASK OF THIRTEEN THOUSAND YEARS IS COMPLETE. AND NOW, DUE TO MY DIRECTIVES, I FORGET. I DIE.>
And then the machine paused, and wound down, and Omnissiah ejected from his dock.

"... I am tired." He said. He sounded... very, very small.

<Anna, you better be alive so I can yell at you...>

"Oh shit oh shit oh shit!" Alex said, sitting in the co-pilot seat of the Wyvern. "Are they still following us? Are they?"
"Yep." Anna said, a new cut on her cheek. She was wearing her exosuit, and tossed the shotgun into Alex's hands. "Hang on."

The wyvern tore into the sky, away from the Armatek facility. Two fighter drones followed, tearing up out of the atmosphere as she did. Renard buzzed with the stolen data.
"What's the plan, what do we do?" Alex asked- he was freaking out.
"Hold onto the shotgun. I'll take care of this." She said.

Two guns wheeled out of the drones, and they started firing into space, heat building up. When they stopped to cool, Anna did something simple- she extended her heat shield, and lowered into the atmosphere- just enough for the drones to soar over her, much faster. Pulling the trigger, she fired a blast of kinetic spreadshot, the needles slamming out of the barrel and cutting them to shreds. They're on the world of Kishida, you knew-
Then you looked at the time on wyvern's dashboard.

That was... this morning. While you were working on the suit.

One thing I've noticed is that natural 1s tend to have the action fail in special ways (i.e. instead of what you tried to do, you hurt yourself/others accidentally) and so always have serious consequences, while 100s are just excessive success in the action and often aren't really better than just a regular success. Is this by design, or just coincidental, where the 100s just don't come on rolls that allow for particularly spectacular successes so far?

Still focusing, you focus on Max. It was blurry, but- you saw the red stone stuffed into his collar. He was currently licking the baby centaur as it giggled, and Tala was there, carefully putting the red stone into a small bangle for the baby.

And then you focus more on Anna... and nothing.
You find nothing at all. When you seek, you find a blank, featureless sphere. Carefully, slowly, you move backward through time, trying to find the last time they were there- and you catch a single phrase.
"Don't worry." Alex said. "I'm Phi, I can do this shit." And then nothing.

"I think they were finding more about Alex." You say. "But why did they do it with just the two of them and not tell anyone where they were going?"
"They told me." Jilly said, quietly. "Alex wanted to find out the truth about himself, and he asked Anna for help. She agreed."
"So... he knows the truth, now?" Lambda asked.
"What truth?" Rho asked.
"That Alex is Phi." Lambda said.

Everyone paused.

You turn down to Einstein and write a message, sending it off-

"How could you let them go off on their own like that, Jilly? You know how dangerous Armatek is!"
"They're their own people." Jilly said. "I won't force anyone to do anything. Yes, it's dangerous, but Anna knows what she's doing. Alex made the decision to ask her to come with."

"...Can Delta create a pocket universe like Summer can? Because I can't find their quantum router either..."
"No, Delta can only create." Theta said. "He can't destroy, or change, or use pocket universes or whatever- just near limited manufacturing."

"There are no paths out, no free ways. Just a choice to change things." Damien said, almost to himself. "Just a single choice. And there are no alternatives."

Halfway along the path, he stopped, very suddenly, and you stumbled and looked back at him. He was rummaging around in one of his cubby holes, filled with candy.
"... They have Kat." He said. "They've had Kat for the past five hours. They keep... m-making the choice to kill her. And I have to watch. A-and then they decide not to. Over and over and over. There's no... no timeline that she's safe. I've been... I've been looking."

Didn't Rho say she was fast enough to get in and out before anyone could possibly notice?
>>
>>24477671
The solution is to shut the fuck up and ACT. We went over before how to counter futuresight. DO BULLSHIT UNPREDICTABLE STUFF.
>>
"You saved Max." You say. "You saved Alex. You saved me more than once."
You take a deep breath, and rub your cheek. "Listen, I go intothe iso chamber, and when I find the turrets, before I do ANYTHING... I send a message to Rho to port into the room. The moment they port in, I disable the turrets, and they port out before the gas activates."

Damien paused.
"I... I can't see that one. That path." He said, his eyes widening. "I can't see that one at all, so it isn't certain. It... It might be. It might work."
>>
>>24477684
Apparently Armatek brought out their haxtek for this one.

Damien, are there any security measures they have that you haven't told me about? I don't want to be blindsided by something you knew."

Slap him.
"And you've been wrong before. I've proved you wrong. And if there's no success that you can see, then you just shut up, do what I tell you, and watch me tell the future to go fuck itself!"
>>
>>24477688
right lets do that then... and then we set the selfdestruct for the station once they are gone.

this is war
>>
>>24477688
This is going to end so, so badly.
>>
>>24477688
Shut up. Stop looking ahead. You go to the medibay, pop those pills and gorge yourself on chocolates. THATS AN ORDER.
>>

alright something to work with!

"anything else you can tell me about what measure they have against us? doesn't matter how small."
>>
>>24477688
"It will work. It has to work. We'll save her.

And then Armatek is gonna pay. Growing psions and then using them as slaves? Obscene, and horrible. But now they're screwing with our friends and family."
>>
>>24477718
Nah, then we find the people who coordinated this attack and make their lives hell. Random TK sacktaps at random times of the day, all the spam, throttle any communication they try to send, glitch everything they try to activate, send pictures of their loved ones to them, and so on.
>>
hey it could go well, we recently had a 100 for technopathing so thats improved. As is our TK finesse.
>>
>>24477688
Watch Exa make us roll for it and we get a 1.
>>
>>24477688
"Well let's pop over before the big rescue mission then. Regular goons like the ones Armatek employ don't scare me any more, as long as everyone here can work together."
>>
>>24477688
"Good enough. I'll get Rho."
>>
>>24477728

No, they just get to die.
>>
>>24477688
This is going to be one of those things where we have to make one roll to not get people shot or killed and we'll fail with something incredibly mediocre like a 43.
>>
>>24477734
Making Armatek pay is simple enough with technopathy, once psions are common knowledge to the media, we steal all their files on their engineered psion project and release them to media stations across known space.

Then every single member of Armatek gets to spend the rest of their lives trying not to drop the soap.
>>
>>24477762
Too easy. No escape for them.
>>
>>24477774
All the airlocks on their stations just happen to accidentally vent whenever they walk past.
>>
>>24477768
exactly

in fact right after we rescue Damien's sister we can do that. Our intro picture will be a little girl being rescued from them.

Then we'll show snapshots of Rho's and Isaac's life. Finally we'll dig everything we can find from their oh-so-secure supercomputers and post it all on the extranet.
>>
>>24477768
Or we can just vent the board of directors into space. And delete all of their files. And destroy all of their facilities.
>>
And then you slap him back.
"And you've been wrong before." You say. "I've proved you wrong. And if there's no success that you can see, then you just shut up, do what I tell you, and watch me tell the future to go fuck itself!"
"Yeah." He said, and sniffled, wiping his nose.
"Are there any security measures they have that you haven't told me about? I don't want to be blindsided by something you knew."
"Turrets, weapons platforms, gas chambers- those are chain pulled to subvert you- and then both exosuited and non-suited soldiers. The latter are armed with primitive explosion-based guns, and they have almost the entire place covered in them."

"... I'll go get Rho."
"O-okay." He said. Then he looked down to the gun, and tossed it back into the stash.
"Stop looking ahead." You say. "You go to the medibay, pop those pills, and gorge yourself on chocolates. That's an order."
"Y... yes ma'am." He said.

>>

Why give them the easy way out?
Donate all their money to various charities, make every piece of tech they try to use fail or just insult them. Every bodyguard near them with an exosuit will start to aim their guns at them at random times, non-exosuited bodyguards will receive threats regarding their loved ones and painful hits from TK.
Doors will slam shut on them, shuttles will crash, computers will blare gay centaur porn, cameras will auto-shoop bukakke onto them, ect, ect.
For days. Then we expose them to the government and watch them try not to drop the soap.
>>
>>24477853
We can sever the chains and diffuse the explosives with TK.
They may have planned for us, but they forgot our other specialty doesn't have a distance limit either
>>
>>24477881

He nodded, and you pull him into a long, tight hug.
<Robin, grab an energy drink and meet me in the isochambers.> You say, making your way down there. <We're getting serious.>
She was already down there by the time you were, and she was sitting on one of the chambers.
"Are you gonna yell at me again?" She asked.
>>

>>
>>24477952
no, armatek grabbed Damien's sister to get him to kill me. We're rescuing him. It's time for you to shine again.

The plan is you teleport in as I disable the turrets and bombs then teleport out. They have it rigged to gas so you need your exosuits helmet and a gasmask for her.
>>
>>24477958
No, wait. We'll get there and both Alex and Anna will be there, both forced to work for them.

>>
>>24477952

"no, please Robin, will you help me save Damien's sister? Armatec has her."

what else can we do to increase the chance of success?

they can figure out if we enter their systems but we can still look at them remotely right?

observe what they are doing.

maybe we can try to look in to the past again to see if they planted any nasty surprises Damien missed.
>>
>>24478008
Devious.
>>
>>24477952
"Only if you start thinking negatively or say you aren't good enough. I need your help. You are literally the only person who can do this. Not me, not Issac, not Sarvesh, you, you're the only one.

ArmaTek has Damien's little sister, they have her held hostage with a host of measures to keep us from getting her. They keep threatening to kill her and torturing him.

What we're doing is I'm going to give you the location of the place, I'm going to shut off the auto-turrets and as many of the other counter-measures as possible and at the same time you port in, grab the girl, and port out.

I'm not going to lie, it's dangerous, it's risky, but I can't do it.

I would advise wearing an exo-suit or something with an internal air supply, just in case."

"I need your help." You say. "Only you can do this, not Sarvesh, but it will be extremely dangerous." You say.
"Well, I got Newt's armor." She said. "And I'm pretty good in a fight."
"Are you up for a pre-rescue mission rescue mission?"
"I am, yep." She said. "What's the plan?"

Some time later, she teleported back in, wearing a small respirator, and her armor looked thicker, more padded. "Summer said she made this to work even against acid or things meant to clog it up, and Theta made my lungs a lot better so I can hold my breath. And then Summer took me to that little weird world place and pumped up my armor."
Then she held up the second respirator, complete with a small air supply.

"As ready as I will be." You say. "Keep an eye out for my message."
"I will." she said.
You stripped down- and Robin oogled you for a bit until you shut the curtain, and climbed inside. Once there, the chamber hissed, and you levitated... And focused.

Closing your eyes, focusing, swimming into the depths, you reach outward.

And you found the station. Built into an asteroid, on a trajectory around a small, planetless sun, weapons platforms waited and hid for any ships to come. More turrets lay inside, automated ones, and soldiers roamed the halls.
Sitting in a brightly lit room, hugging her knees, Kat sat, waiting. she didn't seem upset, or bothered, just rocking back and forth, and back and forth.

The turrets and the soldiers sat on the other end of the room, guns at the ready, and at least two pointed at Kat herself.
She didn't seem to notice.

Outside of the chamber, you knew, Robin was talking. "You got a Where for me? I don't know where I have to go yet."
>>
>>24478303
Can we like... pre-target all the weapons and turrets around the room? Also, telepath what we see to Robin.

>>
>>24478303

>>
>>24478303

>>

>>
>>24478391
Pull chain, receive gas. Few mechanical parts, no electronics.
>>
@Exabyte: Spoilers! If it was a 5 or 6, Kat woulda' been psionic as they tested her.
>>
<Yeah, I do, but there's guns pointed right at her.>
<You can turn those off, right?> she asked.
<I should...> You say- most of the guns are standard magnetic propulsion, as are the turrets, but one had a true antique- a proper revolver, with a huge barrel.
<When you get there, bring her to the Manifestation chamber. We can lock that down if anything happens.>
<I can do that.> She said.
<Have you got your clay gunk?>
<Yep.>
You look along the walls, and find small chains here or there, attached into plugs for pressurized gas canisters. Simply pull on the chain, the plug falls out, and the gas- whatever it was- fills the room.
>>
>>24478419
<Ready when you are.>
Let's do this.
>>
>>24478419
So TK the plugs into place. We have some pretty crazy strength, far more than the guards can muster without significant effort I'd imagine.
>>
>>24478419
Can we put a small amount of TK pressure behind the plugs so the gas is held back by TK?
>>
>>24478419
"You'll need to be fast." And give her a count down, from 5 to 1.
>>
>>24478419
Scan around the parts we cant see for any hidden surprises.
>>
>>24478412

that could have been really good or really bad.

>>24478419

what is going on outside of the room?, around the entire room.
>>
We should also get Theta waiting in the Manfiestation chamber just in case she's mortally wounded but not immediately dead.
>>
>>24478419
A revolver should be pretty harmless - port in so that Heather's shielding Robin/Kat from it, and it'll likely not pass through armor - even if it does, one or two gunshots are almost never instantly fatal or even all that debilitating, and we can get patched up upon returning anyway.
>>
>>24478419
Get her the location, make sure she can get there in one short hop.

We're going to have to multitask like a motherfucker for this. We'll have to shut down the turrets, shut down most of the guns and suits but we'll want to make some of them shoot the guy with the revolver as I can see that going badly for us.

And also TKing the gas things shut.

Take another look around, make sure there's no additional surprises, double-check things.

Then give Robin a countdown and wreak havok.

Have Theta waiting for Robin and Kat in case they need some medical attention.
>>
>>24478419
<There's a revolver thing which I can't touch. The Gas system is physically activated so I can't touch it.>
>>
>>24478419
We can use TK to destroy the revolver and make the chains fall off without taking the plugs with them.
>>
we have TK too... and for psionics there is no distance.
>>
>>24478471
We'll just jam a lance of pure TK straight up the barrel. Good luck firing it with a ruined cylinder and no hammer.
>>
I really hope this is the real Kat we're trying to rescue.
>>
>>24478507
Damien would know, I think.
>>
You scan, one more time, and then resolve to put TK pressure on the plugs. You'd need to hold them in as someone grabbed them...
And then you find the explosives hidden underneath the panels, waiting for someone that weighs enough to step on them...

<Also, get Theta waiting in the chamber in case she's hurt.>
<Yessir.> Robin said, and vanished. She returned a moment later.
<There's a revolver thing I can't touch, and the gas system is physically activated so I can't touch it.>
<Then we'll have to hurry. My armor should be able to hold against one bullet.>
And then you also need to technopath the guns and the explosives...

>Do you intend to mulitask?
>Do you intend on using TP alone?
>>
>>24478419
Wait wait wait.

CALL UP KAT WITH EINSTEIN
>>
>>24478439
This, we can assemble blocks with ease from lightyears away. We should be able to plug these canisters.
>>
>Do you intend to mulitask?
yes, we have a finesse boost
>Do you intend on using TP alone?
no, Tk the gas plugs, even for an extra second. We'll trust Rho verse the gun
>>
>>24478529
IDEA! Let's create a small platform with TK so Rho doesn't touch the floor at all.
Then disable the turrets and guns, and spring the plan.
>>
>>24478529
Technopathy to jam all the guns we can, let the turrets move on their bearings, that's not worth the effort to stop.

Hold the plugs in

poke the guards on the shoulders so they turn around at just the wrong time.
>>
>>24478575
That makes sense. No weight, no triggering the explosives.
>>
>>24478529
Yes, we intend to multitask.
No, we don't intend to use TP alone. Keep that pressure on those plugs with TK. Also, maybe put upward pressure on the panels surrounding Kat?
>>
>>24478529
First, warn Rho about the explosive weight activated panels, let her know that she can not touch the ground.

And we'll have to multitask, I don't think we can TK that many guns and people at once with enough force.
>>
>>24478575
platform is probably the wrong word. Lift. Let's create enough lift to hold her just off the ground.
>>
>>24478534
Err. Yeah. Do this first.
She might be a decoy, and the real Kat is ok.
>>
>>24478529

we have gas masks ready but there is no telling how fast that gas spreads.

>I'm leaning towards multitasking
>keep the plug in place
>fuck with the electronics
>I hope Robin's armor is good enough.
>>
>>24478575
Can we just make a TK shield? Hold them away from the explosives, hold the gas and bullets away from them. A complete bubble of impenetrable force like Isaac does. Saves us having to multitask.
>>
>>24478600
Damien has been watching since they took her, one would hope he knows she's real.
>>
>>24478529
Technopathy on the guns/explosives, TK the gas plugs or chains to prevent them from being pulled, just block the revolver (make 100% sure we tell Robin where it is so she can position us) and trust armor+speedy teleport+possibly lucky miss to carry us back, where any damage can be healed anyway.
>>
>>24478611
That would work, if we can pull it off.

Might work.

Focusing, you reach into the guns...

<Now.> You say, and shut them off.

A plume of smoke shot into the room, running-
And the revolver fired twice, catching the plume once in the thigh, and the other... in the head.
Robin collapsed onto Kat, lying there for a moment-
And then the group dropped their nonfunctional guns, and raised more gunpowder ones, and started to fire.
And one by one, shot by shot, they all burst into clouds of smoke before they hit her.
Dazed and bleeding, she grabbed Kat, and vanished into smoke again.

I think (perhaps with a few exceptions) people have calmed down from the shitstorm yesterday.

I know this because I was one of the people being butthurt yesterday, and I've chilled out about it.
>>
>>24478881
Personally I'm easily manipulated, so playing as Anna made me invested in her storyline. I almost feel like the other romance options are easy mode now, almost like cheating (especially since Exa said they didn't have comparable drama events last thread) though I'll be happy with just no shitstorming.

I personally think we should use this time to clear up what we're going to do about Anna, so at least some of us will have some kind of consensus, which should hopefully make it go smoother so we can get back to Plot!-ing.

I personally think we should just let her sort herself out, then take her back once she apologizes profusely. Assuming she doesn't decide she likes the cock more.
>>
>>24478955
Agreed, I kind of want to make Anna's efforts to improve herself mean something.

>>
>>24478982
That was my thinking on it. If Anna's journey of self-discovery actually works out and she decides she can actually be serious, then I'm all for giving her one last chance.
>>
>>24478982
At the risk of instigating a minor shitstorm, I agree. But it can wait until we're sure everyone is safe, first.

It best be one hell of an apology though.
>>
>>24478982
I agree, but I'm not sure if it's the best time. I think people can probably agree that accepting her apology (though making sure she knows we won't forget, and still need time to forgive) and telling her to see how things are when she's got things under control would be fine at least.
>>
>>24478930
Are we gonna be seeing more turbo charged Omni? That shit was awesome. Especially the bit where he demanded blood.
>>
>>24479029
Oh sure, I mean when the time comes that she tries to get back in Heather's good graces. That'll have to wait until after we've saved her and she's figured herself out.
>>
>>24478982
>take her back
You crazy people.
>>
>>24478930
By the way, congratulations on finding a solution to the Anna clusterfuck that (mostly) satisfied all parties, and actually improved the character as a whole.

Didn't see that one coming, gotta say.
>>
>>24479064
If she's willing to make the effort, although she'll have to understand that this is well and truly a last chance, not just for her and Heather's relationship, but for them to have any kind of friendship at all.
>>
>>24479064
Forgiveness is a virtue. Too much is foolishness, but this is the first time it happened and she regretted it immediately.
If it happens again, I'm all for dumping her ass completely.
>>
>>24479064
She seemed genuinely upset by it, so I'm not opposed to it.
>>
>>24479094
I'm willing to forgive her enough to not go around with a grenade with her name on it telling everybody how she's a terrible person who slaughters civilians like she did in this situation. Maybe even be friends again. But lovers? Too much forgiveness.
>>
>>24479064
Hey, I'm far more invested in Anna than any of the other options, especially after tonight's thread. That's really all there is to it - I don't see anything interesting or appealing in Heather's flirty/romantic interactions with the others personally.

But no reason to rehash yesterday's thread, we don't need a consensus for Anna beyond 'nothing now, check again when you've done work'.
>>
>>24479047
It was. Omni turned out to be the single most bro-tier companion in the entire quest. I mean, he devoted his full attention to fulfilling Heather's request for THIRTEEN THOUSAND YEARS. Sure, he went a little insane, but he didn't give up, and in the end he saved everyone.

But I really can't stress that enough. THIRTEEN THOUSAND. That's 13 thousands. 310 centuries, and concious the whole time. He waited 13,000 years for Heather to come back.

Omnissiah, character of the year all years.

Rolled 84

>>24479208

>>
>>24479064
I'm in favour of eventually forgiving her just so we don't have to persue any of the other romance options, resulting in all of them being cheapened and another 30 threads of mindless flirting. Sure, no romance at all is an option, but the character development for Anna is already happening, so we might as well roll with it.

In the end, I have no strong feelings either way, but it seems like the best option from a storytelling perspective.
>>
>>24479185

Personally, I am a Summerfag, but we made the choice to go for Anna, and I'll abide by that.

But it isn't really our place to say, here and now, if we'll take Anna back. We need Anna to go and do her own thing, and come back to us. Maybe she will have changed, maybe not, but the onus is on HER, not us.

We just have to resolve to play Heather as angry as she should be, for the reasons she should be.

I also want to be petty and ban her from the ice cream machine.
>>
>>24479220
I hope we have alone time with him in the workshop next thread.
>>
>>24479262
Summer is Grade A crazy, with greater issues than Anna. as for Anna Heather is Angry because she cares about her, and life or death tends to over ride that anger with worry.
>>
>>24479262
I think with all the time Heather spends being a mature leader she deserves a spot of pettiness every now and again.

I still say that whatever happens, we sign Hound up for every single gay interspecies Centaur dating website in the galaxy.
>>
>>24479262
Pettiness was a given, at this point. When everyone is safe and Armatek is destroyed, we're still going to mercilessly torment Hound with spam.
>>
Man, last thread my view was on the more forgiving side of the scale and people were all shouting "doormats!" and "Slut should leave the quest forever!".
Now everyone's like "whatever, it's easier just to get back with her."
I wonder how the mood will swing by the time the decision actually comes. I'll still be voting the same, because I'm stubborn like that.
>>
>>24479377
I think that a lot of people were angry at the time because it kind of came out of left field and they felt like they'd been dicked over for all the time we put into Anna stuff.

The combination of a day to calm down with Exa's wise decision to start this from Anna's perspective helped sooth a lot of tempers I'd wager.
>>
>>24479377
Eh, it's a combo of last night having some trolls and people who wanted someone else as LI venting (as well as tons of Annafags/people who didn't care about LIs getting angry about the twist itself and contributing to the atmosphere), and the fact that people in general have calmed down. Letting people play as Anna was also an ingenious move, since it generally let players connect more with the character, tempering negative reactions. Calling them mood-swings makes them seem more random then they really were.
>>
>>24479377
Eh, I've moved over to the more forgiving side from being angry about it yesterday, but I still think that Heather's choices yesterday were fine.

She was angry, confused and upset, having her act all calm and forgiving from the get-go would've been weird.
>>
Robin needs a Reward for this, I suggest we give her TK.
1. if she could have a power she'd like TK
2.she's jealous of Sarvesh because he has teleport and other power on top of it, and we've told Sarvesh that we'd try to get her to not hate him.
3. Armatek will never see it coming.
>>
>>24479467
Of course, we give her TK, and we take her on our next trip home and hand her a map of every nude beach on Heaven's Jewel.

The little perv'll love that.
>>
>>24479467
Technically, Heather is single right now, and Rho is a little pervert.
Food for thought.
>>
>>24479437
Well I don't think anyone had issues with Heather's reactions, just the situation itself/anon's reactions. Not getting angry would be worse for the relationship even, since it would mean less incentive for Anna to work through her shit (and since it's clearly not only interfering with her romantic life, she definitely needs to).
>>
>>24478930
Forgot to ask earlier, but do we have any idea of the range of protection of the material that Omni made?
>>
>>24479510

>>
Rolled 61

>>24479523

>>
>>24479413
Heather did not have the experience of going into Anna-vision and her decisions should not be influenced by it. Although maybe the metagaming from getting people invested in the character like that just cancels out all the 'we should dump Anna so we can go after my favorite waifu' metagaming.
>>
Rolled 33

>>24479528
agreed. we'd rebound on Summer instead and all those wonderful mental issues.
>>
>>24479528
Who said anything about rebound? It'd be a reward. She'd like that kind of reward.
>I'm not going to actually suggest it in the next thread, so don't get your panties in a twist.
>>
>>24479528
>>24479549
How silly, we need to rebound onto Heather's one true love. The Knot.
>>
>>24479564
Still waiting on one of the smutfags to bless us with a proper Heather x Max fapfic.
>>
>>24479377
It's the result of people calming down, as well as Exa's idea to run the first part of this thread from Anna's perspective. It basically fixed the issue by developing the character some more, and forcing people to look at it from her point of view.

So yeah, I guess we can move past this without having another 20-30 threads of waifu shitstorming, replacing it with meaningful character interaction and development, hopefully. If the stars align.
>>
>>24479543
But the experience of "Oh crap, she might be in serious danger" would mellow Heather's temper a bit. Still shouldn't take Anna back until she gets herself sorted, of course, but the seething anger can be dropped without breaking character.
>>
>>24479529
we'd need Delta first, so that the Matter can be replicated
>>
>>24479510
Really don't think Heather should get involved with anything; let's not forget that between the hurt from Anna's cheating, and a LOT of generally traumatic/stressful events (we still don't know how Isaac will fare, for one), Heather's probably not going to be able to have a healthy relationship for a little while, and I'd imagine her interest in no-strings-attached sex took a hit as well (plus I hate casual hookups in quests since they contribute zero to plot or character).
>>
>>24479543
That's actually the entire point, from what I can see.
>>
>>24479597
But the whole point of the matter is that nobody understands it. If Delta understands it enough to replicate it then we're all completely fucked if VQ gets in his mind.
>>
>>24479529
I don't think we'll ever have any meaningful amount. It took him 13000 years to make the stuff, and I don't want to plug Omni back in again, because it will go badly.
>>
>>24479597
He'd probably need to understand it, which goes against the entire point. It's a material that is entirely incomprehensible. If we don't understand it, then VQ certainly can't.
>>
>>24479597
I thought it was said that Delta wasn't implanted and that he was working for ArmaTek willingly? We might have to, ah, take care of him. Throwing him into a black hole works nicely.
>>
>>24479639
>If Delta understands it enough to replicate it
I assume that like Theta's bio sense or Rho's where Delta would have some Matter sense
>>
>>24479693
Then we can't ever let him touch the stuff.
>>
>>24479669
Well, that could be bad.

If Delta is working for them willingly then he probably needs to be dealt with for good.
>>
>>24479693
Considering Omni figured out how psionics *works* it wouldn't be unreasonable to assume he accounted for that.
>>
>>24479749
Yeah, you might be right. I mean, he had 13,000 years to do it, it's hard to imagine there are any possibilities that he *didn't* account for.
