You are Doctor Victor Von Doom, Ruler of Latveria, Rightful king of the world, Master wizard and genius scientist.

At present, Magneto and Charles Xavier are just leaving. Magneto has agreed to move mutants allied with him to mars

Your armies stand at:
75000 Servo-Guards
100 Doombots
100 Doomknights
100 Silent stalkers
100 Time bots
1 Battle CDC
Please inquire as to any confusion with the different types

Finances stand at 15.2 billion dollars

You have several goals, including:
Rescue mother from Mephisto
Defeat Reed Richards and friends
Take over the world
Steal Vibranium from Wakanda
Establish other interplanetary mining colonies
Establish further Broship with Namor

Short term goals include:
Go to Namor's tournament
Increase size of mars colony to accomodate mutant population
Open School. or find further candidates
Repair my hand, if it isn't too much trouble

How would you like to proceed, Lord Doom?
>>
I suppose you wouldn't be able to work as hard with only one hand. Fix yourself
>>
>>24550561
Request a meeting sometime within the next few weeks with Magneto to come up with a way of identifying international criminal mutants who will be incarcerated or somehow neutralized so they won't cause problems.
Not mutants that are simply branded terrorists and criminals for trying to defend their rights, but, you know, actual criminals that do things like break into banks, extort people (humans and mutants both), and/or are dangerous simply because of their power (Nitro). It's one thing to have a new homeland, it's another when someone will abuse it as a 'get out of jail free' option.

Then we shall fix Lucia's hand.

Task a Doombot to oversee the construction to increase the size of the Mars colony.
Another to see about new teaching candidates.
We shall send a request to Dr. Strange about wizarding school requirements, perhaps a meeting sometime within a week to discuss accreditation and curriculum concerns with Morgana.

And then, we shall go to Namor's Tournament, gift in hand.
>>
>>24550561
Devote money to expanding the colony. Also reccomend a trip to the past. Specifiaclly to the time when Bucky drowned without his body ever being recovered. If DOOM can recover him we'll have a hostage of immense value. Or we could just make Captain America kneel to us again, that would be fun.

Most kind, sir. I shall take the time out of my paid holiday weekend

>>24550709
He shall be sending a list of mutants he wishes to take, but I shall request a meeting with him in a fortnight's time, which should allow for more space to be constructed on mars

Dr. Strange is a busy man, but he respects you enough agree to a meeting. I will see what can be done

His Trident came fresh from the forge this morning. I had a velvet lined box made for presentation purposes.

>>24550714
Of course, sir. As well, much of the mined metal is being used to construct this additional space
>>
>>24550714
Loyal lapdog of America besides, Doom wouldn't go out of his way to fuck with the man who kicked immense amounts of Nazi ass, alongside Namor, seeing as how his people were, you know, sent to the camps.

We did it in Slovenia because we had a point to prove, and because they had ignored Doom's warnings.
Going back in time just to fuck with a Nazi asskicker doesn't seem appropriate.
>>
>>24550714
I agree with >>24550815 , Gypsies were pretty heavily persecuted by the Nazi's, we probably don't want to mess with cap too much

Also, when is the tournament?
>>
>>24550815
All sorts of reasons to want to do it. First of all, it would be a tremendous lever over Captain America. Second, we could mock Richards for not thinking of it first, given that he also has a time machine. Third, PR benefits. Fourth, mocking Richards. Fifth, might improve our relationship with Namor. Sixth, mocking Richards.
>>
>>24550884

In approximately 8 hours. I have refitted an old all terrain hover-vehicle, so access to atlantis should be trivial. Would you like to depart? It may be best to meet Namor early
>>
>>24550815
>>24550884
technically, given that gypsies were persecuted by Nazi's we could justify it out of a desire to put one squarely in their eye.
Plus, it's not like Bucky actually drowned anyway, given that he was picked up by a Russian coverts OP sub, then brainwashed, upgraded and used as an Assassin throughout the cold war. Also was kept on ice when he wasn't killing people.
>>
>>24550911
If it's just saving Bucky, that's one thing.
But you suggested we use him against Captain America, which is the kind of ploy that is beneath Doom, and which also unduly humiliates a man who fought against the Nazi's.

>>24550922
We shall depart now, then. Make sure to change to waterproof cape. We shall be appropriately early; not so much that it is awkward, but not so late as we may as well have been on time.
>>
>>24551007
Sure, we can just save him. Good propaganda technique anyway.
>>
>>24551007
It is laid out for you in the vehicle, sir.

You enter the vehicle, which has several Doombot escorts inside. You have little to do for the 2 hours it takes to reach Atlantis, so you develop a new, smaller version of the fusion batteries you employ in your robots

When you arrive, you are escorted to Namor's throne room. You find it slightly more difficult to move under the pressure, but manage with your usual regal manner.

"Ah, Doom. So good to see you. I apologise for not having the room be dry for your arrival, but it simply slipped my mind. What's that you have in that box?" Says Namor
>>
>>24550815
>>24550714
Actually, it's something Doom never had the privelage of doing himself, kicking Nazi ass. And now he can't, lest the timeline get fucked up. But if we find the names of the people in Cap's old unit who survived the war but died before he got unfrozen, we could use the Time Machine to arrange a small veteran's party for him, so they can tell him how much he meant to them. One last day with his lost loved ones. Seems a fitting reward for a man who kicked so much Nazi ass.

And if we can save Bucky without influencing the timeline (Doubtful, given the Winter Soldier mess), we could do so and present him, fully healed, to Cap as a token of respect.

Also, use the see-but-not-affect mode of the time machine and a video camera to observe Hitler's last moments in the bunker, we can distribute the footage to Cap and any other interested parties to shut down those annoying 'what if he escaped/no body ever found' conspiracy theories. And if the conspiracies are true, we follow him and hand the info to Nick Fury. Hunting escaped Nazis was his first spy job after The War. We're just cleaning up his sloppy work. Again.

>>24551140
A small token of respect, one ruler to another. It is made of Martian Anti-Metal vibranium. An interesting substance, to say the least. Now, pray tell, how fares Atlantis?
>>
>>24551140
It is a gift for you namor, A trident made of anti-metal. It should be useful
>>
>>24551140
"A gift for you, Namor. From Doom of Latveria, to Namor of Atlantis, a trident made of Anti-Metal Vibranium, mined from the moons of Mars and brought here to Earth."
Present to him the gift.
>>
>>24551140
This is the trident that acts as a Wifi Hotspot for internet access, yes?

“As I believe all men should have ready access to knowledge and given the ability to satisfy their curiosity, I, Victor Von Doom, put some thought into your comment about being unable to receive a connection to the surface dweller’s internet. As such, I have created this, a weapon which should also amplify radio waves a thousand fold via pan-dimensional resonance techniques. Simply put, it will allow you to browse the internet if you get curious or bored.”

With a swirling flourish of his cape, Doom adds as an afterthought - "Oh, and it's made of Martian Anti-Metal Vibranium. As such, it should put up with some abuse if you wish to employ it as a weapon against your foes."
>>
>>24551231
Shush, Doom doesn't know about the winter soldier mess. Should Doom find out when he goes to the past to rescue Bucky, he will still be the first hero or villain to know to look for Bucky, and in which country to look. He'll find Bucky first.
>>
>>24551280
I never really got that myself. I mean, the first transatlantic telegraph cable was run in 1857 after all
>>
>>24551346
It's probably because the Sub-Mariner doesn't really care much. He'd have to train his people to understand surface dweller technology enough to splice the cable without ruining it, run line to Atlantis (making a physical and digital traceable connection leading straight to it), all for a mere novelty.

Why bother, really, when you have magic or psychic powers that work better than Webcams?
>>
>>24551396
Namor has to water his farmville crops
>>
>>24551346
Yes but there are no underwater access points. Sealed cables. Radio waves and electromagnetic fields move through water about as well as light does. The more water, the less gets through. Underwater electrical engineering is a ridiculously tedious chore because of signal degradation and waterproofing concerns. Which is why it took the technology of Doom to bring WiFi to Atlantis.
>>
>>24551280
>>24551269
>>24551260
>>24551231

"Most interesting, Doom. Anti metal you say? The material that can cut through any other metal? No doubt you found a way to defend yourself from it, but this truly is a marvellous gift, without even mentioning the internet access! I cannot thank you enough, Doom. Technology from the surface is brilliant, but does have a weakness when combined with the sea. Now come, we have much to discuss. Will you be participating in the tournament?"
>>
>>24550709
>get out of jail free
a better phrasing would be which mutants would need to go on probation for our offer.
We can ask Xaveure to help Magnito and a Doom bot with the list.

>>24551438
>Will you be participating in the tournament?"
of coarse
>>
>>24551438
No, it would not be fair to the other competitors. Doom will observe. And I feel our discussions will be more than distraction enough.

Tell me, have you ever considered moving atlantis itself? The humans of the surface dump their poisons and trash into the seas. They fish and whale and deplete the seas. They carelessly ignore the fact that your kingdom is larger than the entirety of all human nations combined. They act with impunity and exclude your people from decisions they make.

Would it not be an easier state of affairs if Atlantis had fewer neighbors? More courteous neighbors?
>>
>>24551438
I assume we have laced our armor with antimetal to make it resistant to other anti mettle as well as added force fields and spells calibrated to resist it to our armor.
>>
>>24551525
Or, you know, reinforced it with diamonds, carbon nano-tubes or advanced ceramics.

But far be it for me to take the prize from your worthy subjects. Rather, if any wish to face Doom in honorable combat, to test their mettle to my metal, they may do so freely. Doom will honor any challenge of skill.”

Force fields, or Magic Metal Smithing.
>>
>>24551509
"Hmm, then we are a competitor down. What about your assistant, there. Is she a skilled combatant?"

"Your offer also intrigues me. Though logistically, I think moving my kingdom would be difficult. And of course, I am no scientist, but isn't mars quite a lot colder than earth? Whilst the attacks on marine life through fishing and poisons are damaging us all, it would have to be quite a large amount of time before this plan could work. How do you propose to do it all?"

"Solar collectors, similar to the one that I plan to install in orbit of Mercury, can be used to help regulate the temperature of the newly formed ocean.
"Additionally, domes similar to the ones on my colonies can cover craters filled with water, to create an environment hospitable to ocean life and Atlanteans.
"A long-term project, to colonize and terraform an entire planet. But one which promises a better tomorrow. And what greater legacy can a leader hope to give to his people, than a brighter future?"

Lucia Von Bardas
Doomknight
TimeBot

Victor Von Doom (optional)

roll for how he does in round one

You arrive at the royal box. A variety of atlantean refreshments are avaliable, though they are unfortunately inedible to you unless you enjoy seawater.

The first match is between an Atlantean nobleman's son, and a prominent member of their military. Through a series of lucky shots, the noble is the victor, and his opponent is carried off.

Next up is your doomknight versus a Guard captain.

Since this is the first one to quote my newest one, I'll use it. Also, it's a crit

The hunter hurls a trident at the robot, which it merely catches. He backs away, throwing more at it, which merely glance off it's armour. A quick jab from the doomknight to the atlantean's stomach ends the match quickly after that.
It would seem the Doomknight has become a crowd favourite, though there are obviously those who have lost money because of you

"How much armour is on that thing? It may start a trend around here, if it keeps winning"

You passively watch the rest of the matches. One fighter catches your eye, a young merman with a harpoon, an uncommon weapon here it seems.

Once again, it is your robot's turn on the field. He appears to be an old combatant, though it is difficult to tell with mermen.
Succeeding here will place it in the semi finals

The general is a clear crowd favourite. He spends a while working the crowd, and before long, they are all cheering his name
However, his arrogance serves him ill, as when the announcer calls the fight in, he offers the Doomknight one free hit
Everyone learns that day that you should not let an 8 foot doombot have a free hit

He's unconscious and bleeding before he hits the floor, and is carted off to the hospital

The crowd doesn't quite know how to react

The other semi final is over after a long battle, but a victor emerges after a short while, another tournament veteran, who is returning after a ten year hiatus

The former champion has demonstrable skill, and manages to stab precisely, hitting the joints of the robot. It takes a long time, but his agility underwater is too great, and eventually there is a break in the doombot's legs. Unfortunately, this leads to exposed wiring, sending sparks everywhere, which the Merman barely escapes from in time.

The crowd is cheering for him, and Namor presents him with the gold, and the medal, and congratulates him on an excellent final battle

"That was interesting, Doom, but it begs the question, did you let him win?"

You make a note to armour the joints better
>>
>>24553657
"Of course not, Namor. DOOM would not sully your champion's victory in such a way. No, he earned this victory, and DOOM congratulates him, and you, for having such a skilled and powerful subordinate."

This is, perhaps, the best outcome we could hope for.
We showed the might of Latveria by the Doomknight getting all the way up to the final match, but Atlantis, and through extension, Namor, is able to save face by having their champion still claw out a victory against the relentless machine.
Consider that the arrogant general is the one who most memorably lost; it'll be a good lesson for Atlanteans to not underestimate the prowess of the Surface, but their champion's ultimate victory let's them keep their pride and dignity.

As for us, DOOM merely needs only say that it was a machine. No match for Doom, of course, so our reputation is unsullied. But the Doomknight is more than just a symbol of DOOM; it is a symbol of the united will of the Latverian people. Behind each Doombot are the hundreds of Latverians that make it possible, and that their resolve is the equal of any Atlantean.

It'd have to be in an airlock or it'd just flood the castle, but this

Wingman for Namor. Susan is a bit stressed, right? Doom visited atlantis on a diplomatic mission, and left some shit behind. He might invite Susan to retrieve it.

Have we offered Atlantis to join us in our colonization of space? we already got Magneto in on it; the involvement of Atlantis could strengthen the bonds of all three powers. Think of it as the groundwork for a grand tripartite pact between Latveria, Magneto's mutants and the people of Atlantis. With any luck we will gain access to Atlantean medical records, which could give us insight into how to further adapt our people for extended periods of time spent in outer space. Or we could urge the Atlanteans to set up space colonies so that we may deny them to other, less friendly world powers.
>>
>>24554210
that wont work but it would be cool if we had a plan that could.
>>
>>24554210
Plus, then we might get to babysit Valeria while they're in counselling!
>>
>>24554227
>Have we offered Atlantis to join us in our colonization of space?
Yes we did. It's right up at the beginning of the thread.
>>
>>24554227
Yeah, they're doing a small scale trial
>>
>>24554227
yes see >>24551983

Ah, must have missed it when I grabbed something to eat.

Looks like that'll have to be it for tonight, but if anyone has any advice or complaints, tell me and I'll read it in the archive tomorrow. I'll be back tomorrow, same time, and I'll address what went on. Goodnight everyone, and those were some excellent rolls

So while we are working on our self contained colonies we need to think of bigger picture Mars terraforming issues. We have several main ones, I will try to outline what I see as goals. Please feel free to add.

Magnetic Field - Mars lacks the protective magnetic field like we have on Earth, and solar winds are gradually stripping away the atmosphere. This can be solved by either somehow reigniting the core of the planet, or by placing massive superconducting lines around the equator to generate the field.

Atmosphere - Two problems here, the first is that the air pressure is too low for human habitation and it is not capable of sustaining human life. We need to start pumping in CO2 and O2. CO2 will create a greenhouse effect to warm the planet, and the oxygen will let us breath. We can probably get the base components from our asteroid mining projects. We could use nanobots to alter the atmosphere for us.

Temperature - Martian temperature will swing wildly. Adding CO2 will give us a buffer, but still is a problem. Mirrors to redirect sunlight

Decaying Moon Orbits - A long term issue, but it is a problem. If someone were to move against us, they could try to drop one of our moons on us. Fusion rockets to put in a more stable orbit?

Water - We've discussed some of this at length. Grab it from space.

Flora and Fauna - Gonna need some fast growing plants, and some wildlife. Wildlife will probably be less of an issue as we could clone them in Latveria and transport them. Genetic modification of plants to speed up growth process to a certain point?

Horizontal. So it's like climbing in or out a pool.
>>
>>24554379
Should be pretty simple to drill to the core with our vibranium, and we have nuclear fusion, but I don't actually know what you need to do to reignite a planet core
>>
>>24554379
We could grab some CO2 from Venus or something?
>>
>>24554489
Better idea. We take it from Earth and charge the industrial world an arm and a leg for fixing global warming.
>>
>>24554379
We could bombard it with asteroids for a bit. We just need to get some CO2 first, and then we can just sit back and watch the temperature rise.
>>
>>24554379
>Magnetic Field - starting the corr seems best in the long run.
>Atmosphere - water vapor is also a good greenhouse gas and will help we also need nitrogen but all of that is plentiful in space. We don't even need nanobots normal factories can pump out the gases and convert comets.
>Temperature - it will be cold but an atmosphere will solve the fluctuations like magic.
>Decaying Moon Orbits - just use one of our Skrull based ships to move them. Mot to mention one of the moons has our antimettle mine.
>Water - yep space.
>Flora and Fauna. Hemp and kudzu are good as are many forms of algi all plants will need nitrogen gases for growth as will people to avoid oxygen poisoning.
>>
>>24554553
We don't necessarily want the most invasive of species. We do want some biological diversity.
>>
>>24554467
first we would need to melt the core then make sure it has enough iron to be a good magnet. Then if some modern research is correct we need to add enough thorium to start an LFTNR reaction in the core to power it. It is a good thing that thorium is very plentiful in space.
>>
I've just realized there's water on mars already, at the poles.
>>
>>24554642
Still need more for oceans.
>>
>>24554635
So, we'd need a lot of heat rays. And diamonds to use as heat ray fuel
>>
>>24554672
There might be more in the asteroid belt. Otherwise we could just get it from further down the solar system.
>>
>>24554672
True. Where would we get the salt from, since atlanteans clearly need salt water?
>>
>>24554706
Could we maybe engineer some algae or something to help with that? We could just design it to terminate when the water becomes salt enough.
>>
>>24554706
It will just leach out of the rock like on earth there should be no big concern with that,
>>
>>24554706
There might be salt deposits on mars that we could exploit. Space mining is always a choice. We could always use nanobots to reconstruct some useless junk matter.
>>
>>24554761
I guess, if we also had some sodium and chlorine. I mean, seawaters probably got other stuff in it too, but yeah
>>
Is it just me, or does OP's submissiveness seem a little weird? Like, it's not something I'd have expected. I hope he/she doesn't get all egotistical, though
>>
>>24554822
I'm sure the atlantean medical guys we were talking to will tell us the exact needs of their citizenry.
>>
>>24554822
Could we find some sodium and chlorine down the solar system? I'm betting we can get the sodium from the asteroid belt between Earth and mars, and we could probably extract chlorine from Venus.
>>
>>24554918
anything we want in almost any quantity we want is out there for the taking in the asteroid or kiper belt.
>>
>>24554918
No idea. Guess we could look for some, but I have no idea. Some sodium may turn up in one of our mines
>>
>>24554956
Pretty much. We just need to make sure we get our hands on the resources there; and make sure that our operations won't be interrupted. Luckily, it seems as if we don't have much competition at the moment.
>>
>>24555028
Unless that bastard Richards tries something
>>
>>24555062
I bet he would, the prick
>>
>>24555062
What is the status of Latveria's foremost enemy? He has been acting rather erratically lately, even for someone suffering from such a lesser intellect.
>>
>>24555106
Been arguing a lot with sue, it seems. At least that's what Valeria said
>>
>>24555106
Tearing his extending hair out, presumably prattling along about science we discovered years ago.

We should have Valeria perform the ceremonial groundbreaking for our terraforming project. We'll send invitations. Classy ones.
>>
>>24554884
That's the character of Lucia, though.
Do you mean that they play the role a little too well?
>>
>>24554379
Introducing water on the scale we're discussing will add a significant amount of mass.

A network of satelites placed in orbit could mount gravity generators or force field arrays to further increase the planet's mass. The force fields can also be spread thin if they're primarily electromagnetic, to produce an artificial ozone layer or magnetosphere to protect the planet while the other changes take effect. The forcefield can also double as tractor/repulsor beams to gently nudge the moons into a more stable orbit.

Magneto should have plenty of insight into how to jump-start the magnetosphere.

We also need to consider the types of flora and fauna we'll import. We're going to have to carefully engineer the burgeoning ecosystem as we construct it. Possibly with some genetic augmentation of the plants to increase nutritional value and life cycle.
