>Einstein followed you dutifully, as always. You could check his data at any time: http://pastebin.com/CaAF0yS8

Your name is Heather, and you've been walking through an enormous, primordial forest for what seemed like hours, following the tiger. Said tiger, Summer, looked back at you and giggled.
"This is all part of the terraforming process." She said, as you looked up at the massive, foggy trees. "Nobody ever goes out here, you see."

Finally, after a long walk through the city, you once again reached Summer's house. You were exhausted. The ion-propelled aircar was gone, but you heard someone listening to ancient, ancient music inside.
"That's mom's." Summer said, and giggled. "Bet you five credits that she's dancing with lil'me."
You walk in, following Summer, and there Jane Grayson was, twirling about, arms out, holding up the kitten. The puppy, Lil'max, was asleep on the couch, paws tucked up and belly open to the world.
"Five credits~" Summer said. Jane didn't seem to have noticed you yet.
>>
>>24570211
"I never agreed to bet!"

Transfer it anyway.
>>
>>24570211

would be rude to interrupt her dancing, but we wouldn't want to startle her when she's done so, announce that we're back.
>>
>>24570211
"What music is that?"
>>
>>24570211
Drag summer over there and join in. "Dance party!"
>>
"I never agreed to bet!" You say, and she giggled. "What music is that?"
"I don't even know." She said. "Hey, Mom, we're back! What music is that?!
"It's classical!" Jane called, and tucked the kitten under her arm. "Some composer named Daft something!"
Summer giggled. "Well, there you have it!" She said.
Jane turned the music down so that you could all talk, but not off, and set lil'Summer down to lil'Max. The former immediately started pestering the latter with a paw, and the latter ignored the kitten.
"How was your trip?" She asked.
"It went good!" Summer said. "The snack shop was closed, though, so I took her through the terraformation forest."
"Hah, I remember the first time I was there. Biggest trees of my life. It's what prehistoric Earth's supposed to look like. The trees there now are a lot smaller."
>>
>>24570343
"It's amazing! I've never seen anything like that, since I grew up on an already terraformed world."
>>
>>24570343
"How long does it have left before the process is complete?"
>>
>>24570343

"I've never seen trees that big before."

>maybe we're behind on plot because some people are really bad at advancing it?
>I know I am.
>>
"It's amazing! I've never seen anything like that, since I grew up on an already-terraformed world."
"Neither have I. I may be from earth, but I'm not from that far back." Jane added, and giggled.
"How long does it have left before the process is complete?"
"Oh, I ... I dunno." She said.
"Mom's not very good with technology."
"I'll have you know, I'm *very* good with technology." She responded.
"You have problems with a personacom!" Summer added. "Even the really old ones!"
"I'm used to ones with little touch screens, not... whatever that is."
"Optical sensors or something. Right, Heather?" She asked, and you nod.
>>
>>24570433
"I wonder how you'd take to technopathy..."

>I wonder if the teaching program could work like it did for robin
>>
>>24570433

"nothing to be ashamed of, a lot of people have trouble with it, especially since they developed and marketed it so fast."
>>
>>24570433
"Well, it's not for everyone. Dad's not particularly technologically-inclined either, despite me and mom both being crazy about it. She's all about the art and cooking."
>>
"Nothing to be ashamed of." You say. "Dad's not particularly technologically-inclined either, despite me and mom both being crazy about it. She's all about the art and cooking."
"Hah! I could get to like him!" Jane said.
"Her, mom. Heather's parents are both women." Summer said.
"Oh! Okay! Sorry about that." She said. "Anyway, I'll go make something for you guys, okay?"
"... Be careful, mom. We don't want another fire."
"Of course we don't." She responded.

You and Summer lounge back on the couch, relaxing.
"She's kind of clumsy sometimes. Mom is, I mean." Summer said.
>>
>>24570433
"Nah, it's nothing to be worried about. The hologram ones can be pretty deceptive compared to the newer ones."
>>
>>24570531
"That sound like you've got a funny story."
>>
>>24570531
"Really? I can't say I'd noticed. She seems nice."
>>
>>24570539
This.

Exabyte is a writing monkey who writes for our amusement. Come up with a funny yet heartwarming childhood story on the spot, monkey! DANCE! DAAANCE!
But no, seriously, I love you Exabyte.
>>
>>24570531

"she's really nice! ... was that part about the fire true?"

>>24570577

>He has already accounted for all of anons ideas
>>
"That sounds like you've got a funny story."
"Well, there was the time we stopped in our aircar and she started to open the door and get out. Twenty feet above ground." Summer said, and giggled. "That was when I was a little girl, though. She's since gotten used to it, and... stopped trying to jump out of flying cars."
"I thought it was a ground car!" Jane called from the other room, despairing.
"Ground cars don't have ion thrusters, mom."
Jane just pouted at the two of you.
"... Was that part about the fire true?"
"It was *not* a fire." Jane called.
"She burned down half the house." Summer responded.
"That was an electrical fire! Faulty wiring!"
... That was strange. Decabulators prevented electrical fires from happening- instead they'd just melt down and the power would stop.
"Yeah, yeah, whatever you say, mom."
>>
>>24570634
"...How old was the wiring?"
>>
>>24570634

"she has her heart in the right place." giggle
>>
>>24570634
"I don't think I should tell her about how difficult it is to accidentally set electric fires, might break her heart."

Technopath with the kitchen appliances. Have them tell us if something is about to catch on fire.
>>
>>24570634
"But...Decabulators? Unless you use some vintage kitchen items?"
>>
>>24570634
"That uh, that shouldn't be possible with modern wiring. Decabulators melt and the power just stops."
>>
"... How old was the wiring?"
"It was brand new." Summer giggled. "We spend all this time excited about getting a new house, and mom burns it down in the first week."
Jane just pouted.
"She has her heart in the right place." You say, and giggle. You reach out to the heating pads, and technopath with them.
<Tell me if something is about to catch on fire.>
<Oh, well, nothing. Except the eggs are probably going to burn- oh, nope, she's stirring them.> The heating pad said, conversationally.
"I don't think I should tell her about how difficult it is to accidentally set electric fires." You whisper. "Might break her heart."
"Wait, it is?"
"Yeah, since decabulators were invented. You have to build it wrong to get a real good fire going." You tell her.
"... Huh." Summer said.

"Ta-da!" Jane called, and came out with two plates- with eggs and bacon. The eggs were only slightly singed, but the bacon was as very perfect as any being, heavenly, psionic, or mundane, could ever have made.
>>
>>24570729

enjoy the food!

"it could have been a very bad construction error."

>don't you dare sending hit-men/assassins/armatek against Summer's family!

>finished reading NFCQuest by the way, getting on to either SorcQ or SCQ soon.
>>
>>24570729
"Perfect bacon!"
>>
>>24570806
Personally I enjoyed SorcQ better than NFCQ or SCQ.
>>
>>24570729
"Delicious, thank you."
>>
>>24570729
Whisper conspiratorially "Oh dear; maybe your mother is a psion! She must have some kind of techno-antipathy!"

Giggle like a madwoman.
>>
>>24570729
"we've had breakfast, but I'm hungry again."
>>
"Perfect bacon!" You say, and take a few bites.
"Oh! I forgot to even ask if you ate meat. I'm sorry!" Jane said.
"This is delicious." You say.
Then you leand close to summer, and whisper.
"Oh dear, maybe your mother is a psion! She must have some kind of techno-antipathy!"
Summer and you started giggling madly, while Jane just frowned.
"Hey mom, maybe you and Heather should touch. Maybe you'll create a matter-antimatter explosion!"
Jane's frown grew, and she pouted.
The music playing in the background, you and summer finished... What? Early dinner? Late lunch? One of the two, anyway- and Jane turned on the television.
"Remember, you're welcome to the whole house." Jane said.
"Idea!" Summer said. "We could pull out that second gaming console and play something. I'm just not sure what. Something we could play together, co-operative."
"What about that game you play as the aliums?" Jane asked.
"Demiurg commander? There's been like five sequels for that one. We could play the first one... I just don't want to play any more futurecraft."
>>
>>24570940
"Yeah! Let's do it!"

"Oh! I should send the developers footage of my Ion Laser!"
>>
>>24570940

sure we can play that, but I've been playing it With Alex, Jilly and, Anna. so I'll try not to spoiler anything.
>>
>>24570940
"I guess we can play a game or two, but remember I have to be back so I can go meet those aliens I discovered last week tomorrow"
>>
"Yeah, let's do it!" You say.
"Have fun, you two." Jane said, and waved.
"We will." Summer said.

You and summer make your way to her room, and she started booting up both consoles for you.
"Oh! I should send the developers footage of my ion laser!" You say.
"Yes, you should!" She said.

You giggled, and went to Einstein, finding the ion laser footage, cutting everything important out except the laser, and send it off. A few minutes later, there was a message.
<We here at VidyaArts are awfully impressed.> The message started. <So much so that we're going to send you... hell, as many free T-shirts as you want! And maybe a collection of every DC game there is. And a console.>
"What'd they say?" Summer asked.
>>
>>24570940
"Good idea. Although we should probably go afterwards. I'll visit my parents and pick up the repair bots and then we can head back to the station."
>>
>>24571033
"We got swag. Lotsa swag."
>>
>>24571033
"I get free T-shirts!"
>>
>>24571033
"They were cowed by my show of force, and offer tribute as befits the Pirate King herself!"
>>
>>24571033

"free stuff!"
>>
>>24571033
"Fat pirate loot."

"Let's play!"
>>
"We got swag." You say. "Lotsa swag."
"Yesss." She responded.
"And free T-shirts!" You say. "They were cowed by my show of force, and offer tribute as befits the Pirate King herself!"
"Yes!" She responded, and the two of you started to play. The graphics was a little off, as were the physics, but it was fun. You and Summer mindlessly slogged through hundreds of human soldiers, your powerfully exosuited demiurg crushing everything- "Hey, hey, what's my title? Do I get a title for being a pirate too? Pirate... duchess? Is that a thing?" Summer asked.
>>
>>24571106
"First Mate!"
>>
>>24571106
"It is now."
>>
>>24571106
"Poop deck swab-ist."
>>
>>24571106
"You're the first mate, of course! Everyone knows the first mate is the colorful member of the crew, that is responsible for maintaining crew morale to prevent mutinies, as well as being a reliable second-in-command."
>>
Send a reply message to VidyaArts: <I already have a console, I don't know what I would do with another one! I appreciate the offer anyway, and was wondering if you might be willing to include a particular ship in your next game - truth is stranger than fiction on this one, a Blackreach pirate stole it from the Demiurg!> and include an attachment for the appearance of the Wyvern. Minus the name of course.
>>
>>24571155
This is cool.
>>
>>24571155
>Wyvern
>Not Surya
>>
>>24571155
Maybe ask them to significantly change the appearance though. Don't want it getting recognised in public.
>>
>>24571155
Probably shouldn't identify the wyvern as a blackreach pirate ship.
>>
>>24571139
Yes.

Jilly is Communications
Damien is Sensors
Sarvesh is Ship Security
Anna the head of the marine corp, she heads all away missions.
Robin is our teleporter.. and ship pervert.
Isaac is our secret weapon.
Theta is our medical officer
Lambda is the secret guy who finds and gives us all our missions.

(Am I forgetting anyone?)
>>
>>24571178
Pfft, Anna can just say she's a diehard fan and had it recreated from the game. If anything we're giving her additional cover.
>>
>>24571155

maybe not the best idea to put Anna's ship in as an idea for the game.

not to sure we should send ours either but definitely not Anna's without her permission!
>>
"You're the first mate, of course!" You say, and throw a human marine into the piles of explosive barrels lying around for no reason. This was VidyaArts' first game, ever, and it showed. "Everyone knows the first mate is the colorful member of the crew, who's responsible for maintaining crew morale to prevent mutinies, as well as being a reliable second-in-command."
Then you reach out to Einstein, and send a message through him; <I already have a console, I don't know what I would do with another one! I appreciate the offer anyway, and was wondering if you might be willing to include a particular ship in your next game!>
"... Isn't Damien your second in command, though?" Summer asked. "And Sarvesh would be... I dunno. Enforcer? And Omni's the helm, of course."
You got a message back.
<We're going to make that into a DLC... And hell, we may as well add a red-haired ion-laser wielding enemy to pilot it! Are you okay with your likeness being used?>
>>
>>24571186

the pilot is blonde and wears an exosuit; and you have no issue with me about using my face...
>>
>>24571190

<maybe not a spitting image, but a red head for sure!>

"why would you think that? Damien would be more suited for planning, an adviser of sorts."
>>
>>24571186
>secret guy who finds and gives us all our missions.
I believe the word is "fixer"
>>
>>24571190
What ship did we show them?
>>
>>24571220
Alex is our spy. Hes under Lambda's command and no one trusts him.
>>
>>24571264
ouch, that's harsh even for him
(he gets things done because no-one remembers him once he's out of their line of sight)
>>
>>24571276
(maybe only Heather trusts him. And he slowly proves his worth to the rest of the crew!)

gotta have an antagonist that everyone thinks will betray them, then spring the surprise traitor on them instead.
>>
>>24571301
like Dinobot from BeastWars
>>
>>24571259
>You showed them Surya.

"Damien is the one the crew all turns to for sage counsel."
"Well, of course." Summer said, firing a plasma caster on the enemy vehicle, causing it to explode like fireworks. She stumbled, and slid near a cliff, and you charged, sliding, and grabbed her claw, pulling her back up and patting her 'urg on the shoulder.
<Change my face and I'm fine with it!>
<Alrighty!>

Some time later, the human spacecraft was crashing out of the atmosphere. Your 'urg and Summer's 'urg, climbed outside onto the hull to surf it into the atmosphere. The screen got red, and they cackled, the ship's nuclear reactor going haywire and about to explode... And then the two 'urg bumped fists.
The world exploded, and the credits rolled.
"Yesss." Summer said, and held out a paw. You bumped your own fist into it.
"That was short."
"The first ones are." Summer said. Then she stretched. "You wanna get back now? Or just hang out some more?"
>>
>>24571330
What time is it?
>>
>>24571330

Give her skritches. "You've been away from home for a while, we can stick around a little more if you want. Hey, you know what you could do? Take Lionel with you back to the station!"
>>
>>24571330

"we should probably go now and stop by my home on the way. got things to pick up and people to entertain!"
>>
>>24571330
Ya lets head to Heaven's Jewel.

Also Summer I'm worried, maybe you should tell your parents to be careful. Damien just got his sister back from Armatek and they might be getting even more desperate.
>>
>>24571330
"Do you mind if we visit my parents more?"
>>
>>24571390
*now
>>
>>24571372

Yeah, mention this to them. Definitely inform Mom and Dad when we stop by. And message them that we're on our way as well.
>>
>>24571414
Telepathy.

>>
You start scritching Summer, and she started to purr, quietly.
"You've been away from home for a while. We can stick around more if you want."
"No, I think I'm okay." She said. "I can talk to mom through lil'summer, which is why I'm leaving her here."
"Hey, you know what you could do? Take Lionel back with you to the station!"
"... I could..." She said. Winter appeared, and put it in her backpack, shooting you a smile. There was something... strange, about Winter, now. There was... much more Summer in her than there was before.
"Also... Summer, I'm worried." You say. "Maybe you should tell your parents to be careful. Damien just got his sister back from Armatek, and they might be getting even more desperate."
"I did." She said. "You know how we had to tell Tannis who we were?"
You nod.
"They have automated planet-to-ship weaponry." Summer said. "Customs is a nightmare if you're not authorized. Mom has a gunpowder handgun in the kitchen, and dad... Well, you know that bodyguard he had? He didn't need him."
>>
Thats good. Hopefully everyone else has warned their own families too. Thats partly why I wanted to go home.
>>
>>24571456

"I, didn't see that coming. why *did* he have the bodyguard?"

i don't think we told anyone the specifics, only that we suddenly got really fuckin' depressed and are now not spending time with Anna.

Jilly knows, Anna has been visiting our friends one by one (Sarvesh and Damien at least, maybe Alex), likely telling them what she did.
Part of her path to un-fucking her issues?

I think the point was that Anna should sort herself out.

If Heather just rolls in and fixes everything, then Anna will have learned nothing.

>actually, Summer's gold and white, not orange and black.

"Why... was he even here, then?" You ask, and ground your teeth.
"Prestige. 'Look, I have an ex-blackreach merc on the payroll.'" Summer said. She seemed to pick up on her mood. "Never liked that asshole anyway. He thought I was a *pet* when we met a few months back."
"... That seems safe enough." You say, taking a deep breath and trying to calm down.
"Yeah." Summer said. "Dad's all kinds of badass."
"That's good." You say. "Hopefully everyone else has warned their families too. That's partly why I wanted to go home."
"That's fair enough." Summer said. "Let's get going, then."

The two of you made your way downstairs, and Jane was watching something 2D on the tridvision, something with lots of laughtracks.
"Hey, you two." She said. "You're heading out already?"
"Yeah, that's what I figured." Summer said. "We want to hang out with Heather's parents a bit."

>>
>>24571601
Not Laurent's fault, not like he knew anything about the whole situation.

As for Hound, if we ever run into him, we make it quite clear that the only reason he's still breathing is because a) we don't think he knew about Anna and Heather, and b) because we like his sister a lot more than him.

No actual violence until he messes with us again.
>>
>>24571678

>somewhat reassured.
>for now.

"It was a true pleasure to meet you, miss Greyson!"

Technopath every piece of tech in the house and ask them to take extra care of this family, keep accidents as low as they possibly can or, just ask the medical machines inside Miss Greyson to do their very best.

>>24571712
We don't know for sure, and that should give him all the reason he needs to stay away from us, unless we learn otherwise.
>>
>>24571650
Eh, just the nature of quests. The guy may have been mostly blameless for that situation, but we haven't actually been given any reason to like him - he sounds like an asshole every time we hear of people interacting with him. There are tons of reasons to like Anna which weigh against her fuck-up.
>>
>>24571719
Don't fuck with the medical machines.

"Great to meet you!" You say. "Thanks for accommodating us on short notice."
"No problem." She said, and waved back. "Come by any time!"
Summer reared up, and hugged her mother tightly. Due to the woman's cybernetics, she didn't instantly fall backward, and she returned the hug. "Love you, mom! Take care of Lil'summer!"
"I'm going to dress her up!" Jane said, and snuggled both summers at once.
"Hahaha, you do that!" Summer said.

The two of you walked back to the spaceport, and you saw that one of the shuttles were missing- Summer's father had went up to the orbital station again.
"You ready to set off again?" Summer asked, Winter tagging on her heels with a bag full of supplies (and stuffed animals).
"Yep." You said, and strapped yourself in. Summer did the same, as Winter stowed the stuff into one of the beds and vanished.
Then you flicked on the switches... and carefully, carefully, launched yourself out of the system. Tannis came up on the intercom to confirm that you were leaving, you were back in orbit, and finally, in bubble drive.
Summer was lying there, and unstrapped herself with TK, drifting into the air. "I probably could've eaten a bit more." She said. "Mom's bacon is the best."

"It is, I wonder if I could trade in my TK for bacon-making skills that awesome."

time to work on our suit?
did we bring that school work?

>>24571810
"She was quite good at cooking bacon, yes. Could give me dad a run for her money at that dish, at the very least."
>>
>>24571844

Not with that roll, it won't be. Then again, we have the best manifesting teacher right next to us to help us along with it.
>>
>>24571810
"Yes, it was awesome!"
>>
hmm, that reminds me. Summer said we did really well on the engine we tried to manifest earlier in her world. Maybe we can pull a Delta and try manifesting machines later.
>>
>>24571876
>Summer's mom and Heather's dad engage in a bacon contest, until they produce the greatest bacon the universe has ever known.
>Turn up on the Void Queen's homeworld with a plate of it.
>Void Queen gives up her evil ways for delicious bacon.

Bacon end is best end.
>>
"It is pretty good." You say, and push up the power a tad. "She could give my dad a run for her money with that dish, at the very least."

"It's funny- she thought I'd only be able to eat meat when I was little, so she practiced and practiced bacon. Because that was the only bit she likes." Summer said. "At least, that's how dad tells it. I think she was actually a vegetarian before they adopted me."
Then she was quiet. "Come to think of it, mom's actually really weird." Then she started giggling.
>>
>>24571730
Next thread: You are Hound. Your ex-girlfriend just slept with you and then shot at you. You are confused and running for your life.
>>
>>24571968

As of late, or in general?
>>
>>24571968
"Yup, but in a good way, just like her daughter."
>>
>>24571968
"That's no way to think of it! She's just got...character, yeah!"
>>
>>24571968

"i can see which of them you take after."
>>
"As of late, or in general?"
"In general." She said.
"Yep. But in a good way, just like her daughter."
"Yep! The good kind of weird." Summer said.
"Think of it like... she's got character, yeah!"
"Yeah!" Summer added.
You giggle. "I can see which one of them you take after."
"I take a lot after dad, too." Summer said. "Like, for one, I'm totally badass."
Her claws 'snk'ed out for a moment, and back in. "And I know how to work hard. There's something about doing something hard for hours that I just enjoy."
Time passed, and you worked on your helmet. Finally, you put it on, and it clicked on. You looked through Summer through thermal vision, electromagnetic, and finally, optical vision. The UV filter clicked on, and and then you reached out and touched it to your mind- and you could see in UV. Summer was dazzling white and gold, with almost an... opal coat, it looked. She seemed to sparkle, almost.
"Oooh, is it working?" She asked.
>>
>>24572053
"Wow, Summer, you look all sparkly in UV."
>>
>>24572053
"Holy crap you're pretty in UV!" and telepath her an image of it.
>>
>>24572053
"You're beautiful!"
Snuggles, scritches
>>
>>24572053
"Hell yeah! It's got all kinds of vision and stuff."

Let's build in an ammo counter, heat monitor (for the Ion Laser), projected trajectory, and a nightvision function.
>>
>>24572053

"rawr! technology!"

"you look like you're glowing!"
>>
>>24572053
"Ooh, sparkly."

Send her an image of herself with Telepathy.
>>
"Wow, summer, you're all pretty in UV!"
"Am I?" She asked.
You send her a telepath image of it, and she gasped.
"I am all pretty!" She said.
You pull her into a hug, and start scritching her, and she giggled, pulling you close. You started petting her, and her purring grew for a time as you snuggled next to her.
"... Y... you know." She said, quietly. "There's nobody else here, so if you wa-"
The navigational computer chirped, and you only had a minute until you had to pull out of bubble drive. Telling Summer to hold that thought, you take a seat and strap yourself in, pulling yourself out of bubble drive, and slowing into orbital. Heaven's Jewel sat below you, a glistening, glowing jewel in the sky. You knew why they called it that, now.
>>
>>24572130

calling it, the place is going to go boom.
>>
>>24572130
"Nothing like home."

"Just gotta...land. Again."
>>
>>24572130
Oh boy, all aboard the impending train wreck.

For now though, concentrate on flying this thing and landing it.
>>
>>24572147
I really hope nothing happens this thread. I'm up for a slower paced one than worrying about all different kinds of shit that could go wrong.
>>
Saying it now, we should just tell Summer that we aren't looking for a relationship right now. I don't know if she'd be up for something casual, and anything that's more than casual would just be drama waiting to happen.
>>
>>24572130

"we're here!"
"what did you want to say earlier?"

>I have a bad feeling.
>>
>>24572191

This is a good idea.
>>
>>24572130
Am I the only one getting worried about Summer getting dependent on us? She's apparently not very close friends with anyone else despite everyone liking her, possibly due to her issues with reality, and now she's apparently interested in us romantically as well. It's not looked bad enough to be more than a potential worry, but...
>>
>>24572214

I think it's something to be aware of, but not something that needs addressing right now. I mean, they are both teenage girl roommates, so the two of them are pretty close.
>>
>>24572191

I much rather hold off things until Anna works things out or (hopefully doesn't) screws herself up even more.
>>
>>24572191
I'd rather we talk to her about what happened and tell her we aren't in a good place for anything right now, personally.
>>
>>24572236

I mean, without leading anyone on of course, that would be horrible.
>>
"Nothing like home!" You say. "Now I just gotta land... Again."
"Good luck!" Summer said.
Carefully, you pull yourself into the atmosphere, slamming into an ice chunk and wobbling badly. The hull wasn't too damaged, luckily... but you extended your heat shield, and started surfing your way into the atmosphere, sparks dancing along your hull.
It didn't take long for you to realize that you weren't slowing down enough. You wheeled around your ion thrusters, and blasted them forward as you coasted down. Carefully... carefully...

You wheeled your thrusters slowly downward, lowering your speed, and you hovered over the shipport, and then there was a loud BANG.
You jumped- and you realize that you'd landed. A lot harder than you probably should have, but not hard enough to damage anything. Your dashboard chirped, and told you that it would be best if you refueled on Phaeron gas- you had expended half of what you had.
"Yay! We're here!" Summer said. You look out of the front of the ship, and the sun was quickly setting, almost becoming night. Ys was high in the sky, and Fura was on the horizon, carefully drifting.
"What did you want to say, earlier?" You asked.
"... Nothing, it wasn't important anyway. Think we can go swimming?"
>>
>>24572250
Yeah, agree with this. I prefer Anna, but either way I'm not keen on any relationships for the near future.
>>
>>24572263
"Fffffff...I need to get better at landing."

Pay the nice robots to fuel us up. Also shoot off a message to Ellie telling her we're here.
>>
>>24572263
yea we got a pool at my place.
>>
>>24572263
"Sure we can. I have a pool."

I think we should save the talk for later this evening. Let the two of them have a little fun before Heather drops all her drama on Summer.
>>
>>24572263

"sure, let's head over to my place. Mom prepared a bunch of old drones i can have!"

send a message to Ellie, that we're on planet and we'll show her a few tricks if she's still keen.
>>
>>24572263
I think we should talk to Summer about Anna. It would do good for strengthening our friendship and preventing her from feeling left out of the loop wrt our lif, and would also let us tell her we're not in a very...romantic mood these days, without outright rejecting her. Plus, I figure we might want some advice from our parents, and it would be useful if Summer knew so we didn't need to dance around her/the issue.
>>
>>24572263
>"... Nothing, it wasn't important anyway.
lets force the issue, because knowing exabyte if we dont take the chance to bring it up now, it will fuck us over later
>>
I just realized that Ellie is a massive security risk. There's no way she's going to keep quite about knowing the people from the Institute, and Armatek could easily investigate her friends to find names.
Nothing we can really do about it now, though.
>>
>>24572314
>>24572317
>>24572274
exactly, we need to talk to summer about this now, before it bites us in the ass later and don't say it won't, its exabyte, it can't not bite us in the ass if we don't take teh chance now
>>
>>24572314
>>24572317
Agreed, let's tell Summer about what happened, and explain that Heather really isn't in a good place for relationships right now.
>>
>>24572317
>>24572314

you present a good point.

we really should.
>>
"No, really, what was that you were saying?" You ask.
"It's really really not important." Summer said. "I was just saying you could... rub my belly if you wanted. But now we're down here, and the mood is lost."
She pouted.
>>
>>24572371
"Ah, alright."

"Where do you want to go swimming? Pool or sea?"
>>
>>24572371
"Summer, you know how much you mean to me, you're one of my best friends, but... with what happened, with Anna, I'm really not in a good place for anything like that right now... I just... I just want things to be relaxed for a while."

I can't remember if we ever told Summer or not, if not, then tell her what happened, and say. "I'm sorry I didn't tell you before, but it's still hard for me to talk about."
>>
>>24572371
Blink, "Um, wasn't that- er, um."
>>
>>24572371
"...Oh. I'm not really up for... something like that right now. It's not you, it's just with all the crap that's been going on, I just kind of want to stay away from all the... relationship stuff."
>>
>>24572371
lets tell her heather is not really up for any relationships at this point, hint that is has to do with anna, but let anna tell her, we can rub her belly all she wants but she needs to UNDERSTAND whats going on with us, we cannot have unintended consequences from one misplaced belly rub
>>
I ... didn't really tell you why I was building this did I?

You know how Anna was Blackreach? She and the guy your dad had hired had been involved and she slept with him. I asked her to figure things out before we considered going together again... and I'm not ready for anything right now. Not even something casual.

It was only a week, but it hurt.
>>
"... Oh." You say. "I'm not really up for... something like that right now. It's not you, it's just with all the crap that's going on, I just kind of want to stay away from all the... relationship stuff."
Summer giggled.
You give her a Look.
"... Yes, because a bellyrub means we're going to sleep together." Summer said, sarcastically. "I... I'm not even in a *place* where I can even think about that sort of... relationship stuff. Much less the ... logistics of how things would... would work. And we're roommates, anyway."
>>
>>24572436
"Well then, in that case..."

Tackle and belly rub.
>>
>>24572436
Well you said it was personal...
I'd happily give you friendship belly-rubs.

And I'm sure it works for tigers just like it does for people. You're transgened, after all.

>>24572455

>>
>>24572436
"you can have all the belly rubs you want, i just wanted you to understand that

>>
>>24572455
Seconded
>>
>>24572436
"Uh...does the roommate status have some kind of effect on relationships I was unaware about? Still, point made, but honestly, you sure make belly-rubs sound indecent enough!" let's say it playfully to keep the mood up.
>>
>>24572436
Oh Summer, why are you so awesome.

That tiger has earned herself some serious bellyrubs.
>>
>>24572436
"Oh! The way you said to not do it in front of other people made me think it was lewd."
>>
>>24572436
"Isn't your belly the equivalent of your tits? Because titty rubbing sounds pretty sexual to me."
>>
>>24572488
>Not rubbing your friends tits
What are you, amish?
>>
>>24572511
Go to bed Robin.

Well that's one awkward conversation avoided, now to hope dear daddy doesn't get too bloodthirsty after we talk to them. They don't know, do they?
>>

"oh, uh... sorry for assuming things. I just remembered what Robin did that time..."

So? Rho grabs everyone's tits and she isn't dead yet.

>>24572547
I don't think so.
>>
"Well, you said it was personal..." You say.
"It is. It's not sexual at all, though." She said.
"Isn't your belly the equivalent of your tits?" You ask. "Because titty rubbing sounds pretty sexual to me."
Summer rolled her eyes.
"No, not unless I'm all hormoned up. Which I'm not."
"Well, in that case..." You say, and tackle her, rubbing her belly. She lay there, stretching back, her her belly was the fluffiest and softest thing that ever existed.
"The way you said not to do it in front of other people made me think it was lewd."
"It's not lewd, it's just... really personal. I can't explain more than that." She said. "I guess it'd be like someone who kept poking your bellybutton or something."
"Uh, does the roommate status have some kind of effect on relationships I was unaware about?"
"Yeah. It's always, universally, a bad idea to sleep with your roommate. Always. One hundred percent of the time. Unless you're dating and moved in together *because* you were dating."
>>
>>24572562
"So many unwritten rules."
>>
>>24572562

>>24572562

"I don't tell you often enough what an awesome friend and roommate you are."
>>
"Oh? Is that why your manifestations kept trying to make out with me?"
>>
>>24572562
"Hmmm...you may have a point there. I suppose I need to watch more romance movies, still have much to learn to catch up to you."

You have the best advice. Has Anna spoken with you, yet?
>>
>>24572562

"any more rules i should know about?"

"you are the best roommate I've ever had."

should we tell our parents about our relationship troubles?

we could use some parental support, and maybe some advice, even if it is just to make sure we're doing the right thing, keeping some distance.
>>
>>24572628
I think that's one of the many reasons Heather wanted to visit home.

Getting her parents' advice would be good.
>>
You keep rubbing her belly, running your fingers through her fur.
"I don't tell you often enough what an awesome friend and roommate you are."
"Nope!" She said. "That's me, always awesome and always forgotten." She said, and giggled.
"You have the best advice." You say. "Has Anna spoken with you, yet?"
"No? What about?" She asked. "Um! That's a little low. Don't go that low or it will be lewd, and I will scratch you."
You nod, and resolve not to rub that part of the giant tiger.
>>
>>24572562
Give nice, deep, fingernail scritches. Long strokes.
Then rub our face in the glorious gateway to the elemental plane of fluffiness.
>>
>>24572655
Pout at her. "The fluffiest parts are off limits?"
Rest our head on the safe part.

"Anna's was all... Blargh."

>>24572655
Do the raspberry
>>
>>24572655
"I promise, no lewdness here."

Pet her for a little longer, then we should probably get moving.

"Anyway, let's go see my parents and we can swim in the pool. I'm going to send Ellie a message as well, she's been excited to see us since she found out about psionics."

Be sure and send a message to Ellie, if we haven't already.
>>
>>24572655
"Well, I'll leave it to Anna to talk to you about it if she hasn't already."

>>24572655

>>24572822
>I should note that they were only planned to be there the day of the demonstrations. Summer's father stayed a day early there for Summer.

"D'aww." You say. "Thanks, Summer. I love you too."
"Hooray!" She said. You bury your face in her fur do a raspberry, and she squealed, wiggling her hindlegs for a short time. "Ehehehe that tickles. Let's go."

"Sure, let's head over to my place. Mom prepared a bunch of old drones I can have!"
"Yess~" She responded. The two of you climbed out of Surya, made your way onto the monorail, and you shot a message to Ellie.
Less than a minute later, Ellie came on during the monorail's next stop, and quickly found you.
"Yoooou." She said, eyes wide, pink hair disheveled and dangling in front of her face. "Show me! Show me show me show me." She started hopping up and down, and then clasped her hands in a particular way that emphasized her chest. Then she pouted.
"Pleaaaaase?"

God damnit she took that tip from Robin.

<Okay okay, I'll show you as soon as we get back to my house.> You tell her, with telepathy. <I probably shouldn't be doing this stuff in public.
<OHMYGOD THIS IS SO COOL. You're talking into my BRAIN. And I can talk back! Somehow! Can you hear me?> She responded. Her mental voice was booming, enthused. She grinned widely, and sat down. "Hey Summer!" She said.
"Ellie." Summer responded.
<CAAAAAN YOOOOU HEEAAAAR MEEEEEE->

<I'll show you the cool stuff when I get home!>
<Okay!> She responded.
<You're really good at this, Ellie! Are you sure you haven't done this before?>
<Positive.>
<It's probably because you're so loud.> Summer said. <That we just can't help but pick it up.>
Ellie giggled.
"Have you ever been to space, Ellie?"
"Duh." She said. "I went to cloud city with Wes, and then this one planet with my aunt, and I go to the orbital for shuttle training. Didn't you know that?"
For some reason, the idea of Ellie piloting a shuttle gave you shivers.

Soon enough, the monorail stopped, and Ellie pretty much dragged you out to your front yard. Summer, amused, followed behind. Then she banged on your door.
"Yes, Ellie?" Mom asked, knowing who it was precisely from the way Ellie knocked- she had to put in special alloyed glass after Ellie broke the door's window a few years back.
"Heather and Summer are here so let us in so they can show off their psychic powers!"
"... Oh dear." Mom said, and opened the door. Then she gave all three of you hugs.
>>
>>24573231
"Hi, mom!"

Hugs and etc.
"So, what do you want to see first, Ellie?"

Hi Mom. I've been accosted.

"I never knew you did shuttle training, Ellie."
>>
>>24573231
<Oh dear what? ArmaTek?>

>>
>>24573301
Little jumpy there.
>>
>>24573347
Good reason.
>>
You pull your mom into a long, hard hug, burying your head in her shoulder for a while. Absentmindedly, she patted your head.
"Hi, mom. How are you?" You ask.
"Honey, I'm still tied to the bed!" Your father called from upstairs.
"... Oh dear." Mom said again, her cheeks going red. She ran upstairs.

"... I never knew you did shuttle training, Ellie."
"I do." She said. "I'm the top of the class. Even though there's only three people, I'm still at the top. Every planet needs an orbital, so I figure getting certification for that would mean I always have a job."
>>
>>24573374
SO WE"RE JUST GOING TO PUT THE MUSIC ON LOUD AND BE IN THE WORKSHOP. OK? OK.

ignore the thoughts, ignore the thoughts.

"To the workshop! I can show off my TK there! Technopathy too!"

"Come on, let's go to the workshop and I can show off."

>>
>>24573374

>>24573374

>>
>>24573374
"I should probably let them know at least three hours in advance when I'm arriving."
>>
"So we're just going to put the music on loud and be in the workshop okay? Okay." You say, and sprint toward the workshop.

"Okay! What do you want to see first!?" You ask, desperately trying to change the subject. Ellie was giggling uncontrollably, and Summer gave you a sympathetic look.
"Let's see you move things!" She said, between giggles

Carefully, you focused, and lifted up a large pile of nuts and bolts, spinning them around you as they fell into a telekinetic current.
"... Woooow." She said, eyes wide, and breathless. Then she poked one. "That's so cool!"
>>
>>24573468
Pick Ellie up. Not too high, though. Just a few inches off the ground.
>>
>>24573468
Lift her!
>>
>>24573468
"Yeah, it's pretty good. But I can lift a lot better, and I can make singularities!"
>>
lets assemble a drone before her eyes then have it say something like 'Heather is the greatest!'
>>
>>24573468
Summer has the best tricks of all!
>>
>>24573503
As long as we avoid pinching her butt, we should avoid summoning Rho, Queen of Telegroping.
>>
>>24573468
"I'm don't even have that spectacular powers!"
>>
>>24573561
Even by posting her name, you've called her here.
>>
Carefully... you pick Ellie up. Her legs started kicking, and her eyes widened.
"This is so cool!" She said. "It feels like you're lifting me with ... like, billions of little tiny hands!"
"I don't even have that spectacular of powers! Summer has the best tricks of all!"
"Ooh, really?"
She drifted there, kicking her legs, feeling it out-
And then something very, very strange happened.
She twisted out of your telekinetic grip, landing on the floor.
"That was so cool!"
>>
>>24573585
"I... You... What? How'd you do that!"
>>
>>24573575
Don't worry, Rho isn't her name any more.

>>24573585
"Summer, do the universe thing!"
>>
>>24573585
"Whoa, you totally got out of my grip then."
>>
>>24573585
"Wait what... you shouldn't have been able to do that..."
>>
>>24573585
". . .What, what? Did you do something? I uh.. normally don't just fumble things like that."
>>
Rolled 31

Total Recall from Elli's point of view. Lets see how she did that.
>>
>>24573585
Oh, sorry, I didn't mean to drop you, that doesn't normally happen.
>>
>>24573585
I don't think we've actually picked up a person before, have we? This might be entirely normal.

"You're all slippery!"
>>
>>24573603
It's Robin, isn't it? Master Telegroper?
>>
>>24573633
>I don't think we've actually picked up a person before, have we? This might be entirely normal
we've done it a bunch of times, but mostly to sleeping people
>>
>>24573633
We picked up Alex, but he got out of it by slamming his shield back up.
We've picked up sleeping Summer several times but she can't resist if she's sleeping.

>>24573640
You fool! You've doomed us all!
>>
>>24573673
>You fool! You've doomed us all!
It was already too late.

We need a Fist of the North Star edit for Robin.

"You are already groped."
>>
"I... you... what?" You ask. "How'd you do that?"
"Do what?" She asked.
"You totally got out of my grip there."
"Well, that felt like a bunch of hands, right?" Ellie asked. "So I just twisted out of it like I do when people grab me. Wes used to pick me up off the ground all the time."
She giggled.
"... I uh, didn't mean to drop you."
"Nah, I twisted out of it!" she said.
"Summer, do the universe thing!"
"Alright!"
"Universe thing?"
"Watch. I'll make it impressive." Summer said.
She closed her eyes... and a crack appeared on the wall, yellow light shining out of it. The crack grew and widened, eating away the wall, floor, and ceiling... and then it tore open, as a rift, and you saw a great, dimly-lit room beyond.
"Woah!" Ellie said, and immediately walked into the rift. Summer panted, and stepped in as well, and you followed.
And then the rift closed, and you were within Summer's pocket dimension.

You were in what looked like an observatory, very dimly lit, with a bit heavier gravity than you were used to.
"Woah! This must be like... another dimension? It's own universe? Can you create portals to other universes?"
"Not really. Just this one. But here, I can control it all."
"So it's like... a pocket universe! Like in the trids." Ellie said.
"Yep! Watch."
Summer closed her eyes, and focused... and through the observatory window, you saw a small white pinpoint expand into a universe, exploding in fast-forward, nebula spinning and suns forming, drifting...
>Field too long!
>>
>>24573788
Ellie was entirely entranced, palms on the glass.
"You just created a *universe*. That's so cool!"
"It's not a *real* universe." Summer said.
"Have you ever heard of the Nature of Existing, Summer?" Ellie asked.
"No?"
"RustThirtySeven wrote it. The AI philosopher guy." She said. "He said something like... If it looks real, it is real. If it acts real and feels real, then it's real. Even simulated life is life. Even a simple program with a variable named 'hunger' that has to eat is considered an animal. If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it's a duck."
>>
>>24573820
"You wanna see me collapse some concrete into a black hole?"
>>
>>24573820
Woah, Ellie. When did you get all hyper-smart and well read and everything? I never knew.
>>
>>24573820
"you heard her, Summer. It's as real as anything."
>>
>>24573859
Oh my god, nothing's real?
>And then the tiger was broken
>>
>>24573834
That shit releases tons of radiation doesn't it?
>>
>>24573889
Yeah, we probably shouldn't do that here. Ellie will be impressed enough just with Summer's stuff, our TK, and some technopathy.
>>
>>24573889
only destroying it does, the black hole doesnt
>>
"Woah, Ellie. When did you get all hyper-smart and well read and everything?"
"Hey, not nice." She said, and dug her fingers into your side. You squirmed away, and she giggled.
"As I'll have you know, I have a subscription to the Science extrazine. And a lot more besides. I didn't even go out partying last friday, either! I stayed inside. And played videogames. Smart person videogames."

"You heard her, Summer. It's as real as anything."
"As real as anyone can percieve, I mean." Ellie said. "Reality's all perception, like. Um... well... Think about it. we're all in our heads. We don't actually see anything, we just see what our eyes tell us that's there. And we call that real. And since we can percieve of this place as real, then it is!"
"So that means videogames are real, too, right?" Summer asked.
"Just as much as we are, yep!" Ellie said.
"That's silly."
"That's philosophy!"
>>

>>24573915
It's strange though, Ellie. We perceive this as real, but Summer knows it's Manifested. It feels different to her.

When a Psion makes something it's linked to them, and they can unmake it, but you can't unmake another psion's stuff.

Make a small plush kitten, to demonstrate.

"It's strange though, Ellie." you say. "We percieve of this as real, but Summer knows it's manifested. It feels different to her."
"When a Psion makes something it's linked to them, and they can unmake it, but you can't unmake another psion's stuff."
"Not really." Summer said, quietly. "It's more like... you need to understand something to unmake it. Understand every little bit. And when you make it, you *have* to understand it to make it. It's why I can't make guns."
"...Huh." Ellie said. "I wish I could mess with this kinda stuff. It's all so cool. Can you guys like, teleport? I remember the Extrazine said someone could teleport."
"Sarvesh." Summer said. "And Robin. They can, but we can't."
"Who's Robin?"
>>
>>24574019
"A perverted menace to society. Believe me, you'll know her when you meet her."

Robin's a clone we picked up from the evil people. She's awesome!

>>

It doesn't matter if she's awesome, it's still pretty hush-hush.

>>
"Oh, yeah, sorry. It's kind of very top secret at the moment, sorry." You say, and hug her.
"Stupid top secrecy." Ellie said, and pouted again. Summer sighed.
"Anyway, let's get back to your parents' workshop." Summer said. "I want to wipe this world and start over."
"Okay! Open up the portal thingy!"
"Alright!"
Summer opened the rift, and the three of you made your way out into the workshop.
"What other cool things can you guys do?" Ellie asked, still excited.
>>
>>24574164
She's a known gossip.
Frankly, I don't even like her knowing that we're psions at all. It'd be easy for Armatek to find us through her, since she's likely going to update her futurefacebook page with something about knowing the psions from the news.

"Erm. Well, I can probably talk to your personacom. And any other electrical devices you have on you."
>>
"Well I can make these spheres of void that destroy anything they touch. I'd rather not show that off though, it's pretty tiring and it just wrecks stuff.

"I can talk to robots!" You say. "And they talk to me!"
"So cool. Soooo cool. Talk to my personacom!"
She held out her flower-shaped personacom, and it piped up at you, with a deadened, emotionless voice.

The personacom chirped, and Ellie looked at it- it was displaying [Hiya, EllCom! Can you tell me something to prove to Ellie that I am talking to you?]
"So cool!" She said. "You *can* talk to it!"

Your dad came out, in a skirt and shirt, and shot the three of you a smile. "Would you three like me to make something to eat?"
"God yes." Ellie said.
"Alrighty!" She responded, and waved.
You tried not to notice the red marks around her wrists.

Let's wait until things are sorted out first. For now I think we just need to talk the parents aside at some point and have a good cry to them about it and ask advice.

We can do that later though, when we've detached ourselves from Summer and Ellie.

Heather's got the most embarrassing parents by far. Jilly's mom dreams of the day she can compete in the big leagues.

"I fixed the glitches." She said. "It stopped pinging me at like seven AM."
"... That was the *alarm*." You say. "Hand over the personacom. I'm gonna fix it right."
"Fine, fine." She said, and handed it to you. You pried it open- and she'd disconnected most of the cables connected to the speakers. Quickly, you patched it up with your omnitool, and gave it back.

"Did you manage to find a boyfriend yet?"
"Hah, no. Some guys are interested, but none of 'em are cool enough for me." She said. "I'm high maintenance."
Your father knocked on the door again.
"Dinner's done, ladies." She said.
"Yes! Alright! Your dad's meals are the best, Heather."
"Well, let's go see if they're better than my mom's." Summer said, and the three of you went into the kitchen.
