Part one of sexytime wedding night hijinx is up at http://pastebin.com/6M7BVxKJ. Let me know if it's any good in this thread, and if it is, I'll write more. If not, not.

~~~~~
The day after your wedding, you sleep until well in the afternoon. You hadn't slept in some time, then some dramatic things had happened, then the women harvested your essence until near dawn. You're utterly drained, but also thirsty, and you're out of water. With wobbly legs, you make your way to the river.
~~~

You splash your way into the shallows, taking your boots off first of course. Bending over, you scoop handfuls of water into your mouth greedily. You can't get enough.

"What a greedy husband, Melissa."
"Indeed, and ungrateful. After all the love we show him, he seeks the river first thing instead of his new wives."
"Perhaps he thinks he can ignore us now that he has us."
"Perhaps he should check his privilege."

The two of them go back and forth like old friends, and somewhere inside you, a tiny piece of reptillian brain shouts "Run man, they're working together, you're screwed", but you ignore it.

"Good morn-afternoon my lovely brides. I'm sorry, but for some reason I'm thirsty today. I can't imagine a cause for my lack of fluids, but I'll be well soon. How are the two of you feeling today?"

"Sore" you get in unison. It makes you smile, in a stupid way.

"Well then, what shall we do on our first day as a family?" You toss out the question informally, but it's a good question.

[ ] What do you want to do now?

The farm, for reference.
>>
>>24674542
Well the first thing to do is to double check all our crops, make sure they're growing well, not getting too much or too little of everything, I doubt anything is going wrong due to Melissa's Relic, but you can't be too careful.

But what we do need is a good place to store stuff, it's kinda silly to sell all of our stuff to the store if we're going to buy it back, and we also want a place to put stuff while it ferments and so on.

So I propose we make a root cellar, if our tools aren't up to snuff we may want to pick up better ones before we start, but having a place to store fruits, vegetables, wine, beer, fermenting things, and so on is a good thing.
>>
>>24674542
Water the crops, and continue digging that irrigation ditch.
Just because we got married doesn't mean we can ignore the farm.
>>
>>24674630
I agree we need a root cellar; a good shovel will be necessary.

Another thing we should do is to collect more lumber for either a water mill, or a wind mill.
>>
>>24674542
Lavish your new wives with affection. Is there anything that needs to be done on the farm?
>>
>>24674630
I think a root cellar is a genius idea.

Is everyone else in for this? Are there any root cellar PH.D's that I should know about?
>>
>>24674678
Well unless we happen to have any hills that we can dig it into, it's a lot less work to just dig straight into a hill, right by our house I don't have any clever ideas aside from putting it close to the house, maybe next to the house, put a trap door over it, and then build the next part of the house over that.

We might want to check with the carpenter on that.

Also, I'm reading the smut, I like it so far, still going through it.
>>
>>24674678
Root cellar sounds good.
>>
"I for one think we should build a root cellar of some sort. We need to be able to keep food cool, and safe from predators and such. Should be a fun first project for us as a group."

Daliah was clearly anticipating something more fun, but Melissa nods approvingly.
"I think that's a wise choice, Keith. No one likes warm mead."

Always about the libations, that girl. "From what I can gather, we'll need some decent timber to hold the cellar together, and of course some shovels to dig it up, and some way to put the dirt somewhere out of the way."

"We can either buy timber from the carpenter, or we can buy an axe and cut it down ourselves. Obviously, doing it ourselves is cheaper, but you'd be doing all the chopping." Daliah focuses on the task at hand. "Which would you rather do?"

[ ] Buy the timber, 1/5 your remaining funds

>>
>>24674864
>[ ] Buy an axe, 1/10 your remaining funds.
We will need an axe for lumber collection for other projects anyway.
>>
>>24674864
[X] Buy an axe, 1/10 your remaining funds.

"May as well cut it ourself, get in the habit of obtaining our own wood for any other projects.

Besides it means I get to chop trees down shirtless as the two of you swoon."
>>
>>24674864
[ ] Buy an axe, 1/10 your remaining funds.
Having an axe would be useful later on. Plus learning how to do it yourself is a good idea.
>>
Waitwaitwaitwait.
Now that we're married, there's one super important thing we gotta do.

Consolidate our lands, now that we're effectively a 3 man operation, not only will we have more land to work with, but we can focus our manpower.

Keith takes charge of crops, Melissa heads up animals, and Dalilah covers security/lore/whatever.

Also since we've decided to start growing crops, we should look into growing some Berries, and we should get a few beehives scattered across our farmstead to ensure maximum pollination, to not only increase our honey, but boost the output of crops.

Maybe convert some of Melissa's land to orchards.
>>
Just got done with the wedding night stuff. More please.
>>
>>24675044
I agree.

I like smut, I read it and was going to say I liked it, but then I got distracted by thoughts of root cellars.

This is what you do to us Harvest, you give us delicious smut and then we start thinking about Root Cellars over it.
>>
>>24674864
[X] Buy an axe, 1/10 your remaining funds.
We need to buy one anyway so we might as well cut our own trees.
>>
>>24675065
Am just surprised we don't have an engineer in the thread telling us how to make it.
>>
Gimme 10 minutes
>>
>>24675036
Oh yeah, we should build a silo for making silage, in the winter, we're going to need to store food long periods of time for the farm animals, luckily we can take turnip/sugerbeet tops and cloves and basically heavily compact them down into the silo, and seal the top. Without oxygen and at a low enough moisture, it'll preserve, is more effective than just hay, and can be made from discards and freaking *weeds*.
>>
>>24675117
I'm still trying to figure out how we're going to build the vents that are needed for good air circulation.
>>
>>24675176
isn't air circulation bad in a root cellar? it should be mostly sealed to prevent external environmental conditions from affecting what's stored inside.
>>
>>24675118
By the do we have any drawfags here? I would love to see a picture of Keith, Melissa, and Dalilah.
>>
>>24675221
Me too.
>>
>>24675036
>we should get a few beehives scattered across our farmstead to ensure maximum pollination
That'd be nice, but we only have the single colony for now.
We can make more potential colony locations, but we can't populate them until the queen in our first colony gives birth to new queens that will fly out on their own.

>>24675216
It's to draw in cool air and vent stale air/ethylene gas.

http://www.almanac.com/root-cellar-build
http://www.organicgardening.com/learn-and-grow/building-root-cellar-your-home?page=0,0
>>
>>24675308
yeah, but we're using old tech to make this root cellar, the issue isn't adequate ventilation, it's preventing us from having too much.
>>
>>24675342
As I said, I'm still trying to come up with a way to make the vents using the old tech we have.
>>
>>24675373
My point is that anything we build is going to be drafty enough on its own, without adding extra holes to the ones we'll already have.
>>
>>24675216
Engineer with a ruined root cellar on my property!

I think we need a stone interior, the ventilation problem can be fixed by having an interior door with a small air hole at the bottom, covered in a net to prevent insects from getting in, and then we have a chimney in the other end to let air out!
>>
>>24675373
A cellar isn't like an attic, you don't need constant ventilation to keep it cool. If it is deep enough underground the insulation of the dirt will keep it cold enough. Vents would be counter productive because the temperature and moisture of the incoming air would change at different times of day and different seasons.
>>
>>24675441
Hewn stone, or brick?
>>
>>24675461

to be fair, we only need a minuscule amount of circulation, if only to prevent the air from stagnating...

Though having large blocks of Ice kept in the deeper areas of the cellar should allow us to not only have ice for our drinks, but also to preserve meats and keep the overall temperature low...
>>
>>24675475
I think hewn stone is better, but probably more labour intensive. That´s what my ruined cellare is made of! And we need the best!
>>
>>24675461
That's because you're thinking of them as simply holes rather than as valved vents that let cool air into the cellar and expel warm air.
And the constant ventilation IS necessary to help preserve the vegetables by expelling ethylene gas and maintaining the low temperature.

I'll trust how root cellars are actually built over what you think they need.
>>
"I think we'll be needing the axe for other purposes sooner or later. Melissa, could you go into town to buy a decent axe, and two shovels?"

Melissa nods, "Anything else you want while I'm there?"

You consider the things you'll need. "Ask the blacksmith for two dozen nails and some hinges. And some door handles."

"Sounds wise love, I'll take one of the donkeys." And with a kiss, a rather slow kiss that has Daliah fidgeting, she's off.

You turn to your pouting wife, and give her an even slower kiss to make her feel better. "Daliah, I want you to read up on cellars, and mark out where on the property it should go." She smiles. "You know who to ask for these things, perhaps you are not such an idiot, husband." She reaches up and ruffles your hair, and walks off, swaying her small hips. She looks back over her shoulder, to see if you're watching, and when she confirms it, she smiles in a way that almost makes you go after her.

Now you're going to go water some plants.

~~~~
In time, Melissa returns with the goods, and you consult Daliah for the measurements needed. You're going to make the cellar just over six feet tall, so you can stand in it. There'll be some allowance for air in the doorway, and a small vent on the other end, to allow good flow.
The cellar floor will be 12 feet below where you're standing. A daunting depth, but Daliah insists it'll make it better. You go out to the nearby stand of trees, and start chopping seven foot lengths of tree. You've estimated you'll need thirty main braces, and about as many supporting beams. Chop. Chop. Chop.
~~~~~~

The girls are marking out the footprint of the cellar, it's twelve feet wide, and twenty long. Again, Daliah insists on doing it big the first time, to prevent needing to do it again. They pick a space a few dozen meters away from the house, so you don't build over it in the future.

>>
>>24675657
We'll never stop bickering about mundane details of farm life, but we will usually keep it polite.

We might also want to chop up some extra wood for shelves and the like so we aren't just putting everything on the floor. And make sure that the supports are placed in a way which allows for optimum storage.

And do everything for this shirtless, from the chopping to the digging, no point in getting a shirt dirty and putting on a show for our wives is always good.
>>
>>24675517
Stagnant air yes, as pointed out a small hole in the door would suffice.

>>24675475
Do we have to make our own bricks? If so, use stone. Bricks are a lot of work to make and burn a lot of fuel in the process.

>>24675561
Huh, I had no idea potatoes actually produce ethylene.

Anyhow I'm confused as to why you think this cellar will require a constant influx of cool air to replace the warm air. Where is this warmth coming from? There is no source of heat inside the cellar, and if we build this correctly the sun won't even touch it. And keep in mind we are building this thing low tech. When you said "vent" all I could think of was a hole in the ground.
>>
You have about ten days before the harvest comes, and it's a pretty big harvest, so you really need to get this cellar done in nine. But that's not going to be easy, as Daliah wants you to move 144 tons of dirt for "Her cellar". At least she's digging as hard as you are, and you're making some progress. You had to buy some old tools from the carpenter to properly finish the wood, but he gave them to you on credit for some turnips.

As the two of you dig, the heat of the summer really sets in. Melissa occasionally throws a bucket of cold water on the two of you, but eventually you both agree working topless would feel much nicer. You're underground now, so you're not worried about her modesty. Daliah strips off her shirt, and throws it above ground, and you do the same. The two of you exchange lingering looks before you resume digging. (*Pastebin, later*)

~~~
Melissa is working on the doors, nailing crossbars and installing handles, and building the frame to sit the door on. You can occasionally hear her hum while she works, it's a sweet tune.
~~~~~~
Five days pass, and you're mostly done. You can't believe the two of you dug this much this quickly. As you went, you finished the pillars and beams, and installed them. It's quite cool down here, but Daliah still goes topless. She's working up a sweat, to be fair, but it's somewhat distracting now that you're not doing pure digging work. Melissa has been dealing aptly with the dirt pile outside, taking it by the bucketload a few minutes away from the farm. It's monotonous work, but she hums the whole time. A good girl. The time she spends not moving dirt, she spends making shelving for the cellar. Some of it hangs, most of it stand against the walls.

~~~~~~
Finally, it's finished. You three stand in the coolness of your new cellar, in awe of what your work can produce.
[ ] Add a personal touch, of some kind?
>>
Okay, since it seems that everyone ignore my previous post, I want to make something clear. Since we're growing a decent mass of crops, we're going to have to do *something* with the non-edible parts of the potato/turnip. We should either start a compost heap for fertilizer or a silo for making silage to feed animals over the winter months
>>
>>24675918
Carve "Lovingly built by Keith, Delilah and Melissa" into the central support column.
>>
>>24675951
Preference?
>>
>>24675779
It needs the constant influx of cool air BECAUSE we're constantly exchanging air to prevent stagnation of the air and build up of ethylene gas.
A small hole in the door is not enough because you need to take the pressure differential between inside the cellar and the outside into consideration for proper air circulation.
>>
>>24675967
Silage, since we should get started on that.
>>
>>24675967
I prefer silage myself, since we don't really have any plans to feed the animals during the winter months, and we can use the dung produced Melissa's animals for fertilizer.
>>
>>24675918
Put our names on it somewhere, maybe carve it like >>24675962 said.
Silage.
>>
>>24676011
I mean part of a married couple/triple's house/home. I forgot a word.
>>
And important part about Silage is that if we don't have enough, we can make more just by using weeds growing around the farm.
>>
You get an idea, and remove your belt knife. You step to the central column, and carve a nice little inscription. Stepping back, you bask in the glory.
Melissa speaks quietly, first. "I don't mean to bother you so close to harvest, Keith, really I don't. But the animals are going to need food, for the winter I mean. We don't have anywhere to store it yet, but I noticed we have a fair amount of wood left over."
You pat her head. "Don't worry, I'm not mad. What exactly do you suggest?"
How do you guys want the silo built? What is silage? Forgive me, I need details.
>>
One more vote on silage!
This quest is bretty good! The /pol/ jokes here and there, farming and science discussions and the smut adds up to something really great!
>>
>>24676122
Silage is fermented, high-moisture stored fodder
Ensilage creates a nutritious food for livestock, retaining a much larger proportion of nutrients compared to dried crop stored as hay or stover. It can be substituted for root crops. It is easily digestible and milk produced by animals eating silage maintains its quality and taste.
Okay I understand what you mean now. Ethylene isn't as big a problem as you think it is, there is no need to "blow" the gas away unless your stored produce is something particularly sensitive to ripening. (like bananas). Ethylene is lighter than air, so it will only become a problem if your stuff is packed too tightly together or in a sealed container with no way for the gas to escape. All you really need to prevent that problem is a single hole that vents upwards.
When you dig a cellar underground the air is much colder that that at the surface. So it would be impossible to vent the cellar in the way you described because of convection. The air in the cellar is colder than the air at the surface and won't go anywhere unless the surface air is even colder or under positive pressure. (like from a fan, or from wind).
>>24676219
Well I'm sure we keep doing and saying things that appear very strange. They should probably understand why.
>>
>>24676219
I believe Keith should at least explain where he comes from. No secrets with the ones you love. Plus Dalilah shared the fact that she was a Goddess.
>>
Melissa and Daliah confer on what needs to be done. They're pretty convinced they can build a small silo with the remaining materials, while you harvest crops tomorrow. The downer is that it's going to take you all day to harvest those crops by yourself. But, if one of your wives wants something, you figure you can sacrifice a mere day of labour.
~~~~
Turnips turnips turnips. You don't even like turnips. Your back hurts, and you definitely don't like turnips. How do you even eat the damn things anyway. You plan on selling all of them unless one of the girls needs them.

On the other hand, you pick the strawberries with a "one for me, three for the basket" methodology. At least, for a few hours, until you get the shits from eating so many.

~~~~~
Eventually you get the crops all sorted. You've kept a tenth of everything, and placed it on various shelves in your new cellar. It looks right.
The rest of the food you load on the three asses, and begin leading them into town, you figure you'll make it to the general store with about half an hour to spare.
You were a bit closer in time to that, but Therse and Thorse gladly stay open to buy your bumper crop. They actually only have half it's worth in silver on hand, but promise to deliver the rest mid month. You figure it's best to cultivate good business relationships, and leave it at that.
You drop the turnips off at the carpenters, he eats one raw as you speak to him of the cellar.
"Sounds good boy, gotta let me see it sometime. Speaking of which, need any more work done on the farm?"
The deal completed, you head home, pockets still heavy with silver. The onagers plod contently behind you. You begin to wonder where you're really going in this life of yours. Are you going to focus on your farm? Are you going to pursue the legendary Relics? Perhaps you'll just try to pump out as many children as you can. Or, should you give it all up and start walking in a cardinal direction? The last notion makes you chuckle, you're happier now than you ever have been. But still, you feel like you need a greater purpose to set your mind to.
Perhaps you'll talk to the girls about it. They're both smart, smarter than they often let on.
~~~~~

You arrive home around dinner time, and enter the house. It smells delicious in here, the girls seem to have cooked up some of the crops. There's roasted potatoes from Daliah, there some small green herbs on them, and Melissa roasted some pumpkinflesh, it smells inviting.

"Welcome back husband, how did we do this harvest?" Melissa asks first, though she seems to know the answer. All the crops were of an above average size, the pumpkins could barely be lifted by any one of you. You drop your bag on the floor, it hits loudly. You stretch, it's nice to drop that load for a while. "We did fantastically. The seed store was closed, so I commissioned a pot still from John, and discussed some additions to the farm with the carpenter. That's one of the things we need to discuss now."

The girls' faces cloud over. "We need to talk? Already? What did we do wrong?" They talk above each other worriedly.

"No no, nothing like that, don't be silly. I just don't know what direction we should take, as a family I mean. What should we do from here? We're going to have enough money to finance pretty much any decision we want in the near future, so I thought I'd bring it up now."
>>
>>24677019

I think that anons hoping on there being a translation guide on wiki for the language that is being spoken in that region at that time...

also, If memory serves, there Is a type of farming specifically for hilly and shallow mountainous terrain... 'Fell Farming', if memory serves... though that is mainly for cattle and sheep...
>>
>>24677153
That's pretty much what we already use it for, we let our menagerie of animals, that Melissa brought with her, graze and browse on that land while they're watched over by the herding dog and probably at some points one of us.
>>
>>24677102
"The way I see it, there's three main choices we could make, and some of those choices have sub choices, so feel free to ask questions or chime in at any time."

They nod, and you sit down at the table, and begin drawing a picture with your hands, as it were.

"Option one, we take all this money and reinvest it into the farm. Whether than means sinking most of it into a water wheel, or entirely into crops, or other farm infrastructure, it's pretty simple. But if the farm gets much bigger, we're not going to be able to have as many...adventures, I don't think. We'll be too busy unless we hire help, which IS an option, but why waste money?"

The girls take it all in silently. So you continue.

"Or, option two, we continue farming more or less at the same rate we are now. It'll produce 'enough' money, but nothing special. We can make small amounts of liquor as well, though again, probably nothing special. We spend all our money and time questing for Daliah's Relics. Apparently, the last guy to collect them all became a big time warlord and conquered most of the land. Now, we probably don't want to rule with an iron fist, but we could reshape the region, improve it, we could found new villages. And so on."

Daliah seems pensive, but you continue.

"Finally, option three, which I include mostly as a philosophical choice. We just pick up, and leave. Maybe we try to reach my home town, maybe we just live a life of travel. If you're feeling in any way trapped by your new lives, this would probably be a good option."

You finish your speech, and look for a response.

We'll still make time to go off on zany relic finding adventures, though we'll research them a lot more before we go because fitting in some research time in our schedule is a lot easier than taking a week off to tromp into the mountains and we can knock time off of that if we know what we're looking for and where.

Though I can see the appeal of Sengoku Keith, that does seem interesting.

>>
>>24677370
Figure it this way; if we focus on farming we get our waifus and farming done. But when we have enough supplies and crops in excess we can go adventuring and searching for the relics. We do need to build up our tools and weapons after all.
>>
>>24677329

Technically, We as players should only control the actions of the MC, in this case 'Keith'. You, as the storyteller, are responsible for the other characters which we interact with.
You have established personalities and characteristics of the girls, Thusly, it should be simple enough to follow their thought processes to come to the answer which they would give.
Letting us choose for them defeats the object of asking them for their opinions, except to remove any repercussions of not asking them...

Character Wise, I would see Daliah wanting to find the relics, if only to safeguard them...
While Melissa is liable to settle down and work on what we have...

Regardless, this is your call Harvest. I only offer advice from my own experience...
>>
>>24677378
Started out pretty normal, plant some crop, get some fire wood, but that all changed when a messenger on a horse comes to our farm telling us that we need to grow more wheat or we will have our land taken from us.

Naturally we responded by getting our hoe, knocking him off his horse, killing the basted with his own sword, and using him as fertilizer.

Needless it wasn't a normal farming quest.
>>
>>24677421
I know both the girls would have differing opinions, I just needed a tiebreaker from you guys.
>>
>>24677444
Oh shit, I remember that quest from way back ago. He then went into town and started talking to spirits or some shit.
>>
>>24677457

well in that case. both. We build up the farm AND search for the Relics...

The farm will fund the hunt, while the Relics themselves will increase the efficiency of the farm...

We could also invest into automating the majority of the farm, using simple water sensors to trigger a timed release of water though out a small aquifer designed to equally distribute water thought the crops...
>>
>>24677478
Exactly, a clear warning to all who would make a farming quest. Beware the call of adventure or it will consume your quest for all time.
>>
The reactions you get are well measured, but predictable.

Daliah starts, "You know well what I want, Keith. You know that I want to collect the shards of my dead mother, as morbid as that sounds. And yet, I don't want to ruin what we have here. I just helped you dig out a massive cellar, I didn't do that out of whim."

Melissa senses a chance to speak. "And you know I'm committed to the farm, it's all I'm really good at, yet...still...if it wasn't for Providence, you'd be dead, and this farm wouldn't be here. There could be some sense in finding the Relics, even if we don't do it as fast as we otherwise would."

You nod, the women are putting each other, and you, above their own interests. You truly don't deserve them.

"Very well then, we'll focus mainly on the farm, but Daliah, I charge you with finding the Relics, one at a time through research, and then, we'll go after them during lulls in the farmwork."

This seems to be the answer they had already reached on their own. You get curt nods.

You breathe in, here comes the important part. You've never really discussed the oddness of your origins, and the girls have never really asked, perhaps out of politeness.

[ ] Tell the girls about yourself, in clear, concise terms. Really make them understand.

[X] Tell the girls about yourself, in clear, concise terms. Really make them understand.

They deserve to know everything. Make sure they know that we have no idea how we fucking got here, we don't know what entity, force, or whim of nature put us here, but that it was the kindest thing that ever happened to us, the most rewarding stumble through time and space as we ended up in their arms.

Its a little late for my vote but I support farming harder. If we can get the farm to the point where we can build up a large surplus, we could skip a planting season here or there and go on an adventure without disrupting things too much. Not much goes on during the winter for instance.

Having too many animals might be a problem though. The bees will keep to themselves for the most part but the other livestock will need some supervision.
>>
>>24677702
Worst happens we find some clever kid with time on their hands, use some of our surplus cash to pay him, have him watch shit while we're off adventuring, and bam we go on wild adventures with our beloveds. Not something to do often, but if needed we can cover for it.
>>
What an honest bunch you are.

"Okay girls, how much do you know about me?"

They think a bit."Your name is Keith, you came from the city after your parents died, and you can be an idiot sometimes." Daliah offers.

You ignore the barb. "Yes, but doesn't that seem weird to you? That's all you know. What city, for example? I barely remember it myself, and it's only been half a year since I left it. You've never asked what my parents did for a living. Or where I went to school, or anything. I must keep referencing things you haven't heard of. Cake, for one, cars, for another. You've never really asked about those either."

Your wives look at each other, then back at you with narrowed eyes.

"You told me once, Daliah, that the path I claimed to have walked down leads to nowhere but an impassable fog, but I don't remember any fog when I walked here. I don't remember much of anything at all. It strikes me as odd, but to the two of you, I'm practically a non-person who showed up on your doorsteps, in a village that hasn't seen a new face in hundreds of years."

You pause, trying to form a conclusion.

"What I'm trying to say is that either the world I came from doesn't exist, or I'm dead, and this is heaven, or there's been some magic time warp mumbo jumbo. I'm at a loss to my own background, and I just thought you should know."

Daliah and Melissa narrow their eyes further, and stand up, towering over you.

"You think we didn't know this already? You think we didn't wonder where you came from? You think we hadn't put the pieces together? You must think we're fools. We talked about it, and we came to the only conclusion we could, 'it doesn't matter'. You're our mysterious gift from the gods, Keith, you're our bumbling knight errant, and you're our husband. Give us a little credit, man." Melissa delivers a painful tirade, but Daliah is right behind her.

I'll take the lack of response here as a "all the new Harvest Moon games suck, try Rune factory" answer. Unfortunately Rune Factory is only on Nintendo handhelds, so there goes that idea.....
>>
>>24677800
Why do I get the paranoid feeling that they are just saying this to drop the subject. Now you have me wondering how we got here in the first place as well.
>>
>>24677852
For me it's that I have no fucking idea, I've never personally played Harvest Moon. I just like farming, romance, and more farming.
>>
"Keith, I have shed a lot of blood for you, and I'll wind up shedding a lot more. I'll search the four corners of the earth for mother's relics, but I'm only going to do it with and for you. I've dedicated my skills and my love to you, Keith, I don't care if you came from the moon, and are the incarnation of a dark god. So deal with it."

You feel a bit foolish. But reassured.

"Well, I just felt like I had to get it out. I'm sorry."

The two of them draw your head into their bosoms. Melissa strokes your hair.

"Silly, silly Keith. Just stick to farming and being heroic, it's what you're best at. Go buy seeds tomorrow, get something interesting. But for now, sleep. You've had a long day."

You think you'll do just that. Hopefully, not alone.

Random thing apropos of nothing at all, if you continue to do the pastebins of smut, which I happen to like, I think something involving Daliah/Melissa being in lesbians which each other would be nice, either with Keith present or not. They have a nice dynamic with each other.

On a more relevant note, how do the people here normally grind flour? Is it a communal thing or a personal thing? What types of breads do they normally make? How much awesomer than their bread is our honey bread goat cheese cheesecake going to be?
>>
>>24678095
>the smutbin
I don't know if I'll include /u/ scenes. I don't want it to become a fetish thing. I want the characters to be somewhat believable, and I've yet to meet the straight girl who goes bi for anything less than attention while drunk.
>>
>>24678095
>how do they grind flour

Individually, I imagine. There's not a lot of people not involved in subsistence farming in the village, as far as we've explored it.

I imagine they have pretty shitty bread.
>>
>>24678095
Clearly we need to buy the waterwheel and keep it for ourselves. Then we market our super grain as better than any other and mass produce it. Once our superior grain has a stranglehold on the market we buy up any competition and use their land for other projects of ours.
>>
>>24678145
Ours will be the bread the pierces the heavens, or at least is better than their bread, muahaha.

>>24678115
Understandable, my view on it is odd partially for fetish reasons, but mainly because I know an usually large number of libertines.

>>24678170
And soon we shall own the village through an agricultural stranglehold. None shall oppose us! THE POWER OF FARMING IS UNLIMITED!
>>
>>24678145
Grinding flour is a shitty job without mechanization. Ancient cultures used to mix sand with the grain to make the process go faster. (with predictable results)

It might be possible to get some investment from the village in order to make a watermill. Unless the village already has one everyone is going to end up using ours anyways.
>>
>>24677957

So we're a Champion of Horo, Chaos God of Agriculture?
>>
>>24678145
>I imagine they have pretty shitty bread.
Once we have our super grain we shall then be able to make super bread! We will own this town before long! And then we shall use our economic power conquer the entire area!
>>
>>24678170

Does the village have Rubber? if so, then we could also use the Watermill as a kind of 'Van de Graaf generator', allowing our home to have electric lights, maybe even heating elements or... REFRIGERATION!!!

MWAHAHAHAHA!!!!

Harvest, you are now going to have to watch as we bring Industrialization to this small village...

Eventually we will demand playing as one of our decedents furthering the Industry into future-tech levels....

AND WE SHALL EAT CAKE!

I don't have a Wii anymore (bought one, hated the damn thing, gave it away) and unless the Wii Harvest Moon games can be played with a Gamecube controller I'd never bother with them even if I still had it. I did hear bad things about A Wonderful Life's farming being gimped - how good was Magical Melody?
>>
>>24678393

Wonderful life had a rather exploitable glitch in it that the item 'Ruby's Spice' could be cloned by 'cooking' it, and putting bananas in the seed mixer (which you can get for free from Daryl) provides an exponential amount of money more than just selling the bananas...
>>
>>24677887
Yes, both are pretty cool, I recently started playing Tree of Tranquility on Dolphin, looking forward to how they turn out.
What really annoyed me on an emulator was Sunshine Islands and Island of Happiness, crappiest controls ever made.
Are there any others that can be recommended?
>>
>>24678551

Aside from the glitch, though, how was the rest of the game? The farming, the upgrades, etc.? Bear in mind I've only ever played Back to Nature.

>>24678617
It's been ages since I've played it, but from what I recall it seemed rather... small.
I had a lot of fun, but it just seemed extremely limited.
>>
Oh geez, the only HM games I played were the original SNES, 64, PSX, and the first Gameboy one.

Out of all of them, I preferred the n64 version the most, any reccomendations?

I'm more interested in finding different sources of Sugar, Honey is easy with bees, and we can get our hands on Maple Syrup and Sugar Beets without too much hassle, I reckon. Then we shall try to recreate modern desserts.

And those who hurt our feelings by calling us stupid shall recieve the terrible wrath of NO DESSERT!
>>
>>24678258
Before we go building a Van de Graaf generator, we could build an ordinary generator. If we have a waterwheel and a smith capable of working copper, we just need to find a lodestone.
>>
>>24678115
I agree with you there, but I'd think they could at least manage to all be in the same room for such activities for a start. "One at a time" is not at all a requirement. Whether they get involved with each *other* depends heavily on their personalities (and how successful we've been with our fermentation activities), but I'd say that to the extent the trio is believable at all neither of the girls would be leaving the room when the other one wants to play (after the first time), and they'll almost certainly want to experiment with ways to both get involved with Keith at the same time.

Yeah, I really don't foresee any issues going out adventuring. We're going to have to hire more workers at some point anyway. At first, we'll just adventure nearby from morning until evening; later on, when we get some serious help, we can adventure a few days out.

>>24676511
We desperately need to invent birth control. We could look for sources of rubber or latex, or failing that some carefully treated oiled formed paper. (Animal-derived manufacture does not seem sustainable here.)
>>
>>24679318
Well we aren't going to pull off latex any time soon.

We've got few options, sheepskin condoms, or natural abortificants if we find the right herbs. Aside from attempting the rhythm method, which isn't all that efficacious or never using their pussy, which seems even more unlikely considering the time period and women we're dealing with. And we'd have to convince them to work with us on this one, which might not be what they want.
>>
>>24679210

Nurse at the clinic. And wasn't the N64 Karen anti-social?

As for the ROM, I downloaded one once, but could never get Project64 to work...
>>
>>24679356
Well, they (and we) are looking to go adventuring, which doesn't exactly suggest that they want to start a family right away.

Rubber and latex both seem entirely plausible to manufacturer, if and only if we can find the trees or plants in question. I'm hopeful on that front, because we could use it for many other purposes as well.

Natural abortifacients seem like a complete non-starter.

It's theoretically possible that we could manage to manufacture very basic oral contraceptives (for instance, one of the earliest ones was derived from yams), but it seems highly unlikely that Keith would have the chemical engineering knowledge to do so. I certainly couldn't describe it in any more detail than I did in this paragraph without a trip to Wikipedia.

The rhythm method is worth trying if only to increase the efficacy of whatever else we do.

And until we figure out at least one of these methods, I think we're going to need to hope they're feeling agreeable to creative alternatives.
