--------------
Your name is Jake Crocker. You are 15 years old, in possession of a Gundam and currently on a bright-yellow Darwin Class vessel called “Armstrong” which is now being approached by the U.E. (Unknown Enemy). You have been forced to choose between going to jail or setting out on the “Armstrong” to find and catch the mutineer Grodek Ainoa who is in control of the Prototype Battleship “Diva” with the Gundam and its creator, Flit Asuno, supposedly working with him on board.

The “Armstrong” on the other hand is comprised of Federation academy washouts, rookies or nutjobs, however your time with the crew over the past day has seem to indicate they aren’t remotely as bad as the rumors suggested.

Now is not the time for reminiscing about the crew though, It is time for action! You have been ordered to report to the hanger immediately but you just finished the new operating system for the Genoaces using the data you’ve collected up to this point. It’s well put together, but completely untested. It could possibly boost the Genoace’s performance, or it could be buggy and doom the pilots

What will you do Jake?
>>
>>24685187
Put it on them with the option to turn it off and revert to normal operations if possible.
>>
>>24685187

Is there time to install it on the Geoaces? I mean, we were just summoned to battle stations by the captain. Something tells me operating systems shouldn't be dicked around with as we're being attacked... unless OP says there is enough time.

If nothing else, let's try out the cowl system.

You believe you might have enough time to do a quick install, but you might be better off leaving it till later. If you rush through the installations it could lead to something pretty messy
>>24685561
You head to the hanger and throw on your pilot suit just as the other pilots do. Your Dad is already in his Genoace when you climb into the Gundam and slip your cellphone into the dashboard.

"Ready for combat operations"

"Ma G, what's the status on the approaching enemies?" You ask as your Dad takes off, Ralphie, Arnold, Time and Carlos lining up at the catapult while you get ready.

"If the Armstrong's sensors are correct Six units. Four of them are similar to the ones caught on film at the Nora Colony. The other type shows several differences and are most likely heavy attack units."

"What about a ship? They had to have come from somewhere" You ask.

"Nothing is showing up on the Armstrong's radar or long range sensors."

You have just enough time to fit your Gundam with a cowl. You have the Full Solid Cowl and the Anti-Beam/Memory Cloth Cowl to choose from. What will it be?

Nothing solid. However due to the design similarities between the U.E. Suits and the Black suit you assume they are using beam weapons of some kind and it's possible the "Heavy Attack" units Ma G mentioned are packing much stronger beam weapons.
>>24685937
Your using the only weapons your Gundam has. The 16 meter reverberating greatsword "Excalibur", an Arthurian styled shield and an EM Crossbow that fires armor piercing bolts.

The Genoaces are using beam spread guns, shields and heat spikes for melee weapons.
>>24685905
>>24685882
"Liz! I need you to equip the Gundam's Anti-Beam Cowl for me!" You shout over the comms as only two more of the Genoaces stand in line for the catapult.

Liz and the engineers in the hanger work fast, by the time the Catapult is ready for your, the Anti-Beam Cloth is already hanging from your Gundam's shoulders in a particularly bad-ass fashion. You step onto the catapult and take off, meeting your father outside of the ship.

"Alright everyone! Keep your cool and do as I say. The enemy is still 140 meters out. The Armstrong will lay down fire on them while we approach. We're going to meet them half way and keep them away from the ship. Arnold, Ralphie, Tim and I will try to break up the enemy formation. Once we do that I want Jake and Carlos to engage the enemies that are separated from one another. Divide and conquer. We don't know if they have friends in the area, so keep your eyes peeled. Any questions or objects?" Your Father asks.

>>

>>
>>24686377
Probably not. Beam spread guns are pretty much useless against UE.

let's not get cocky until we survived our first battle, if we can survive this we'll have every right to be cocky because we defeated U.E's along side the worst of the worst. although as I say this I think they aren't as bad as they said they were
>>
>>24686606

Ever heard of confidence building? Hell, Jake is exactly the kind of person to say this even if his intention wasn't to raise the spirits of the team.
>>
>>24686303
(Oh thanks! I appreciate it. I'm surprised it took off so well too! I couldn't have done it without all the advice I got from you guys)
>>24686558

“I haven’t no. Very few pilots who see the U.E. live to tell about it. That’s why there considered to be so dangerous, they haven’t lost a fight yet.” Your Dad explains.
>>24686604
“Well I beat a suit like the ones up there. It wasn’t exactly the same, but it had similar features. They’re fast and have some weird type of propulsion. They have a second form where they have can fly around faster too. The beam weapons on the one I saw ripped apart an entire group of Shaldolls with ease, so don’t think they aren’t armed”

The pilots, including your Dad take in what you say, but your father notes your cocky attitude.
"These guys are dangerous for a reason Jake. Don't underestimate them, or you could end up getting someone other then yourself killed."

After being warned you follow your Dad and the rest of the pilots as the Armstrong begins to let loose on the U.E. with it's cannons and missiles. However once your in proper visual range you see that all six of the U.E. are still kicking, appearing to have avoided the attacks.

"Remember the plan! Let's do this!" Your Father's Genoace along with Arnolds, Ralphies, and Tim's open fire on the U.E. while you and Carlos move in to catch them off guard as they break formation.
>>
>>24686765
However they don't break formation, they don't even dodge. The Beam Spread shots hit the U.E. suits like BBs against the side of a tank. The shots don't even connect with the larger suits, they just dissipate before they can impact.

"W-what the hell! They aren't taking any damage!" Arnold shouts in horror as the U.E open fire, letting loose with rapid fire beam weapons from their palms while the larger "Assault" suits fire using their tail rifles.
"Evasive maneuvers! Overcharge your spreadguns and open fire again!" Your Dad commands.

"Overcharge? But that'll drop the shots we have from 100 to 10!" Ralphie shouts, narrowly dodging a shot from one of the U.E's tail rifle.
"Just do what he says! Just use your shots wisely!" Tim shouts, as the four Genoace pilots make some quick adjustments and open fire again.

This time the shots connect and do some damage. Arnold manages to shoot one of four 'Common' U.E. in the head, blowing it off with an overcharge shot. Seconds later it explodes.
The three remaining common U.E. began to scatter and head towards your father’s group. The two ‘Assault’ suits however stay where they are, providing cover fire for the ‘common’ U.E.

Even the overcharged shots don’t do anything against them, it’s like they have some kind of enhanced armor.

They are cut off from the rest of the group though, 2 on 2 seems pretty fair.

How should you and Carlos attack Jake?
>>
>>24686775

>firstly do not attack jake...

It is clear that the 'Assault' UE require a bit more punch that what we have available. Try firing the crossbow at one. See if it can damage them. For the common ones, it is best to strafe one group, then once at least one of them is down, we can move onto the other group.
>>
>>24686775

Let' clear out the little guys, trying to flank them as best we can. Carlo should provide distracting fire and make the U.E.s focus their attention on him while Jake takes them out with the crossbow. Carlos will be able to dodge their shots far better than Jake can.
>>
>>24686775
Did we take the time to program a "stars and space" pattern for our cowl's camouflage function? Seems like that would be the most obvious pattern to have programmed onto them.
>>
>>24686775
Attack from behind. Carlos should take the lead and draw their fire, considering how he's a better dodger than we are.
Also, avoid the big ones for now. We need to take care of the little guys before they sneak attack us.
Keep your eyes open at all times, find a weakness (possibly one isolated) and focus on dividing and conquering them.

>>24686969
They use sensors, not visors. So optical camo really doesn't do anything for us.
>>
>>24686775
Lets focus in the heavier support U.E... Why do I have a feeling Excalibur will be rather effective against their armor.
>>
>>24687202

We should disable the smaller ones first so they don't flank us when we do that. Otherwise, using Excalibur against the big ones is a good idea when we get to them.
>>
>>24687246
Eh, true.

>>24687063
Yes you do. A simple one, but in the black of space it works rather well. Just because their sensors pick you up, doesn't mean their aim is going to be any better with you blending into the background.
>>24686896
>>24686908
>>24687063
You decide to hit the small ones first since they seem the weakest. With your father and the others distracting them, you and Carlos come around from behind and attack.

Using your Crossbow you manage to nail one as it dodges a shot from Arnold. The bolt pierces through the 'Common' type U.E's back and flies out the other side, narrowly missing Tim as the U.E. explodes.

Your father, Arnold and Carlos manage to keep another U.E. preoccupied long enough for your EM bow to recharge. You fire again and score another direct hit, the suit blowing up as the suit penetrates through it's main body.

Suddenly two large beam blasts from the "Assult" U.E, forces everyone to scatter allowing the last 'Common' U.E. to smash past your father and make a bee line for the Armstrong in the distance. The only one left in front of it is Ralphie.

"Your not getting by me!" he shouts, firing his Beam Spread Gun at the charging U.E., only to find he used up his 10 shots. Tossing his gun to the side, he pulls his Genoace's heat spike from it's shield and fires his thrusters, charging at the already charging U.E.

The alien mobile suit swings it's arm, a beam saber lighting up from it's palm, but Ralphie blocks the U.E's arm from coming down mid swing with his shield and lunges his heat spike forward, stabbing it into the face of the U.E.

For a moment the suit seems to convulse before going still. Ralphie kicks the suit back, ripping his heat spike out he flies back to the group, leaving the U.E. suit to drift there with a burning hole in it's head.

The 'Common' U.E are defeated, now the 'Assult' U.E. are laying on the fire, making it very difficult to approach.

What will you do now Jake?
>>
>>24687575
(Did we lose someone in that battle? I count 3 of our Genoaces, not counting dad.)
"Dad, what's the plan? Do we draw their attention and give the Armstrong a chance to take them out?"
>>
>>24687575
Motherfucker. If these guys are the failures and refuse of the federation military, they're doing surprisingly well against enemies that almost no one has beaten before.

"Dad! Orders?"
>>
>>24687575
>U.E. suit to drift there with a burning hole in it's head.

Holy shit it didn't explode. UE suits almost always explode when they take damage, make sure we pick this up to take back to the ship after the fight for SCIENCE!

>What will you do now Jake?
Try to peg one of the Assault UE's with a crossbow shot to see how effective it is. We might need to drive closer to hit them with our sword, but we should at least test out our ranged options first.
>>
>>24687688
Considering the cockpit is in the head, the heat spike must've disabled the auto-destruct.
>>
>>24687575
Call out our shots since those seem to be ridiculously powerful. Have the Gens switch back to low power beam fire and spam shots at the Assaults to distract them from our crossbows. Pincer the two from above and below

(No, just me being distracted. Everyone is still there)
>>24687688
Taking aim you line up a shot with one of the Assault suits and fire. The bolt flies true and strikes one of the U.E.'s arms, however it barely pierces the armor of the suit and it quickly retaliates. The odd gem like ruts on it's torso glow and send out a pair of five beams your way. You attempt to dodge by are struck by three of the beams in the chest.

"Agh!" You shout as your Gundam is knocked back, the front of your cowl disintegrating from the power of the blast, saving the armor underneath from any significant damage.
>>24687677
"Jake!" Your father yells in concern, seeing you were hit.

"I'm fine! My cowl protected me. Don't let that thing hit you with that thing!"

"Damn it, we're going to have to surround them. Carlos, Fallow me, we'll distract them and give the others time to move!"

"Right!"

Your Dad and Carlos fly off towards the "Assault" U.E. veering in and out of the blasts as they draw most of the fire from you, Arnold, Tim and Ralphie.

You spread out and surround the suits in a prism like fashion, your father above and Carlos below them. Realizing they were trapped the suits make a break for it and begin to fire wildly, charging towards Arnold.

"Agh!" He attempts to fire his beam spray gun at the suit but only realizes he's out of shots by the time there on top of them. The U.E. fire at him, blowing off the left arm and right leg of his Genoace before smashing his damaged suit aside and making a run for it.

"Arnold! You bastard!" You yell and race after the two suits.

"Wait, Jake!" your father shouts after you, but your already speeding after the escaping suits, Excalibur drawn.

You follow the suits into what seems like open space, but the suits suddenly disappear in front of you. Your confusion lasts only for a second as you find yourself in front of a MASSIVE ship, surrounded with dozens of U.E. suits.

What will you do Jake?

"You won't get away from me! Not even an entire army wil-OH SHIT. OH SHIT. OH SHIT. OH SHIT. " You turn your Gundam around and book it in the direction you came, taking a barrage of beam blasts from the spiteful "Assault" U.E. suits you chased after.

You begin to panic as you don't see the Armstrong or any of your comrades in the direction you came. Before you can begin to crap your pants, they appear, as if you flew through some kind of invisible barrier that was obscuring your view.

You see Arnold's suit being flown back by Tim and Ralphie, Carlos and Dad are headed towards you.

"Jake! Where the hell did you go!" He shouts

"You disappeared of the radar and-"

"Fuckingrunhugeshiplotsofvagangooooo!" You scream, rushing past. The two decide to follow, your Dad grabbing the disabled Vagan suit as you retreat,
-------------
Everyone touches down in the hanger and the Armstrong begins to move at top speed from the area. On your advice they don't go in a straight line and instead move in an arc, hoping to avoid whatever you ran into. It'll increase the time it'll take to get to Fairdain, but it's better then fighting an entire damn army.

Everyone is still in the hanger. Who do you want to talk too first?
>>
>>24688444
Arnold first, to see if he's okay. Then explain to Dad and the team what you saw beyond that invisible barrier.

Yeah, good point.
>>
>>24688537

All in good time.
>>
>>24688444
First we need to check out the UE suit we captures. All federation suits have pilot seats in the chest, so we have no idea that the pilot died to the headshot. For all we know, the pilot (who i guess we know are human since we drew the connection between these UE suits and Mr Manos's black one) could be getting ready to jump out and cause trouble.

After that, check on Arnold and tell everyone what you saw behind the invisi-barrier
>>
>>24688620

A simple "Careful, we don't know if the pilot in that U.E. is dead. Be ready for anything unexpected" would suffice. After that, we do the other stuff, giving the U.E. a more thorough examination after.
>>
>>24688503
Arnold is sitting down on the foot of his Genoace, a n icepack wrapped around his head.

"You OK Arnold?" You ask.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Just a little shaken and bruised up. My Genoace got wrecked though."

"Your lucky those fat suits didn't use their torso guns on you. That thing vaporized the front of my anti-beam cloak, probably would have busted through my cockpit if it hadn't been there."

"Y-Yikes! I'll keep in mind to try to dodge if I don't know what's being fired at me."

You have Ma G send the combat logs to your Dad and the others so they don't think your crazy.

"Some kind of invisible barrier?" Tim asks.

"And it was cloaking a ship this big?" You father looks over the logs with great worry on his face. "They could be anywhere and we wouldn't know if they were right behind us. No wonder we haven't seen a ship till now..."

"What are we going to do Dad?" You ask

"I'm going to show your logs to the Captain. I'll be back later"

Arnold goes to the infirmary for some aspirin and the other pilots go to the lounge to stay on standby in case any other enemies show back up.
>>24688663
>>24688620
You and Liz, along with a few armed security personal are left to look over the U.E. suit which now sits in the hanger.

"Be careful! What ever's piloting it might still be inside..." you warn as Liz pushes off the ground and floats up to the suit. You push off the ground and look for a cockpit into the torso, but you don't find any. Eventually you and her get a pair of torches and cut a hole in the plating, only to find unusual components and no space for a cockpit.

"Could it be automated or maybe..." you make your way towards the head and examine the hole Ralphie made with his heat spike. Everything is burned and mangled but you try to look over the suit to figure out where the cockpit could be. Mr. Manos was definitely inside that Black suit. Maybe it was modified for a human to use or maybe..."

You spot it before Liz does. There are empty spaces towards the center of the head. Even with the heat spike warping the metal, there shouldn't have been that much additional space. It's very possible that the cockpit was inside of the head, an unusual spot, but considering everyone thinks of the torso as the cockpit not completely bad idea.

"So the whatever was piloting this thing was at least around our size, probably enough for a regular sleazebag to pilot something close..." you mutter to yourself.

Will you continue looking at the suit?
>>
>>24689019
Keep on looking, see if there's any signs of something being in there recently and any signs of anything leaving it aside from a giant fucking heat spike going in and out.

>>
>>24689019

Keep looking. Make sure you give the armor an analysis, since you can probably reverse-engineer it to use yourself.

Does anyone else picture Liz as a stocky brunette with freckles?
>>
>>24689039

You can't see any signs of what was inside the cockpit. Whatever it was, it was melted and blown out into the vacuum when Ralphie stabbed it. So there probably isn’t some sexy alien pilot running around like in some cheesy anime…damn it.
>>24689109
As excited as you are to begin looking over the suit, you realize that there is probably a reason a Vagan suit hasn’t been captured before. It wouldn’t be surprising if the suit had a self-destruct function. Liz and the other engineers will have to be very careful and methodical in screening the suit to make sure it won’t blow up. This will take quite a while and given Genoace repairs are first priority, you won’t be able to take a proper look at the suit for at least a week, maybe more.

Still, you can say the designs are pretty damn alien looking. Glancing inside the hole you and Liz cut, you don’t recognize any of the components. Still, you take the armor plate you and Liz sliced off and get ready to bring it back to your room for analysis.

Your dad comes back as you glide down from the suit, landing softly on the ground.

"The captain isn't happy about this information. She's forwarding it to HQ, but I don't know what they'll think of it. All I have to say is we're pretty damn lucky so far..."

"Lucky? Dad we rock! We just shot down four Vagan!"

"Yes and the only reason Arnold wasn't killed was because the enemy knew they only had to get past him to get back to their ship. They probably thought we were a regular ship, they weren't counting on you. If it wasn't for the Gundam we'd probably be dead right now."

"What about the overcharge? That got through their defenses..."

"10 shots a piece Jake and those things wavered around like jello on a tumble dryer. Besides, those heavy suits weren't effected, not even that crossbow of yours worked. I'm worried Jake. The only reason we won is because we got lucky. So please, no cocky-super pilot stuff OK?"

>>
>>24689302
"Understood Dad, I'll be careful.

But what we got today should give us more information on these fuckers than we ever had before, we can analyze what they're made of, how they operate, what fuels them, we might be able to find some weakspot.

And in my defense I was not expecting a invisibility field with a battlefleet behind it, nobody was."

"I'll look over this armor when I get the chance. I can't really look at anything else, Liz thinks it was rigged to explode so It'll be a while before I can Until then I'm gonna work on Gundam and try out this OS"

You wave Dad goodbye as he leaves to get a strong cup of coffee.

What do you do first? Work on Gundam? Check out the OS in one of the Genoaces or chat with Ma G and look over the armor plate you pulled from the U.E suit?

Yeah, that. Sorry.
>>
>>24689526

First let's help fix up our Gundam. One of these days maybe we'll discover something new about it that can use to our advantage. It's still something of an enigma at this point.

Then we should chat with the other pilots and get them to test our new OS, while we're at it, thank Ralphie for getting us that intact U.E.

>>24689581
Actually, we have a full week still. The distance between our colony and Fardain is a week and two days, and we've been here two days. Also, we might be a little late coming to Fardain due to the arcing flight path we took to dodge that U.E. battleship.

You decide to get around to trying out this OS already. You decide to try it on Carlo's Genoace first since he didn't take any blows in the last mission. The installation process takes longer then you thought it would, making you thankful you didn't try to install it before the battle.

You walk the Genoace around the hanger and run it through a series of movements, testing the new OS out. It has a lot of bugs, but not as many as you thought it would have. Noting down the errors, you uninstall the OS and decide to finish it before bed.

You look over the Gundam before leaving the hanger. It didn't take a whole lot of damage, but you'll need to touch up the paint, buff out some scratches and repair the damaged anti-beam cloak. Right now however you decide to talk to the other pilots back in the lounge.
(continued)
>>
>>24689838
You walk into the pilot lounge, a small but comfy room near the hanger where the guys are currently lounging around on standby.

"Hey guys! I almost got that new OS finished. It still has a couple of kinks to work out, but I'll have it done by tomorrow for you all to try out." You say, entering the room.

"Sweet! Can't wait to try it out" Ralphie cheers, fistpumping.

"Thanks for getting that U.E. suit for me Ralphie. It'll be a gold mine of info when I can actually LOOK at it."

"No problem! I've always been good at hitting human shaped things! Maybe that's why they kicked me out of baseball, and soccer ball, and zero-g Foosball. Actually now that I think about that I was basically born to hit people"

Carlos opens his mouth to say something, but he bites down on his tongue. "Sorry, force of habit"

Ralphie shakes his head. "Oh! I almost forgot, my Uncle called me back about that ship. He doesn't have any hard data, but he knows it's a high-speed, high capacity mobile suit carrier that was designed to support the Gundam. It doesn't have much outside of the standard stuff, anti-air guns, missiles, a standard mega double barreled beam cannon. However it's systems are top of the line and it is a prototype, so it might have some tricks up his sleeve he doesn't know about it"

What do you think Jake?
>>
>>24689962
"What about it's communication system and software? Could we use the colony we're going to to hack into it and disable it from the inside?"
>>
>>24689962
"Well that's both good and bad, it means that the Gundam has plenty of support, but it also means we don't have to worry as much about the Armstrong getting turned into swiss cheese by some broadsides.

So all we have to do is take out a super-prototype Gundam with a matter fabrication factory that adapts to whatever we throw at it.

Fuck."
>>
>>24689962
Carlos is certainly decreasing his chances of being thrown out the airlock.

"I wonder if Crusader Gundam's heavy cowl will be able to stop it's cannon..."
>>
>>24689962
Looks like capturing that ship has just become top priority.
>>
>>24690136
It depends if Grodek really killed Carlos' dad and just how crazy Grodek is and how much of that kool-aid's been passed to Flit.
>>
>>24690101
"He said it was a standard model, same as the ones on the Darwin, can the Solid Cowl stop that?"

"I believe so, at least the data suggested that"
>>24690002
"I don't know. He didn't mention anything about the software. Hell I didn't even know you could do something like that. All he knows is that it's a lot faster then a Darwin Class and that it can carry a lot of suits and equipment" Ralphie said wide eyed at your suggestion.

>>24690026

> "Well that's both good and bad, it means that the Gundam has plenty of support, but it also means we don't have to worry as much about the Armstrong getting turned into swiss cheese by some broadsides. "Well...that's not totally true." Carlos says scratching the back of his head.

"What do you mean?" You ask, wondering if Carlos is trying to sneak in a pun.

"Well I remember my Dad telling me something about a pilot being put on board who was obsessed with 'white'. I didn't think anything much of it until I talked to your dad and he mentioned his old buddy..."

"OH GOD" Tim and Ralphie shout at once.

"What? What's wrong?" You ask.

"Obsessed with white, Woolf Enneacle the famous 'White Wolf' is aboard the Diva with the Gundam, unless someone's over obsessed with bedsheets" Ralphie exclaims, looking like he's about to throw up.

>>
>>24690333
>"Well gentlemen, I believe there is only one thing to say about this. Fucknuggets. I hate our higher-ups even more now."

"Well great. So we're fighting the second most famous pilot in the Federation Military who's on par with, or better then your own father. Fucking fantastic. Prototype Death Machines, Super Pilots, Advanced Carriers, what next a psychic seven year old who's trying to kill us?" Ralphie buries his face in his hands.

"Sorry about not saying this sooner, I honestly didn't know until I thought about it" Carlos says with a shrug.

"Well at least we have your Dad right? I mean he did fight Woolf to a stand still last time right?"

"Yeah, but Dad admits it was close. He admitted once that Woolf was probably better then him in terms of piloting due to him being a racer before becoming a soldier."

"Hey guys, what's going on?" Arnold asks cheerfully, walking back into the lounge.

"Woolf Enneacle is probably on the ship Grodrek and the Gundam" You state bluntly.

"...Woolf Enneacle is on the ship with the other gund- OH God I think I'm gonna throw up!" Arnold speeds down the hallway, headed towards the nearest bathroom.

Should you say something comforting to the guys or just head back to fix up Gundam? What do you want to do Jake?
>>

"Wow. We really have the worst luck. Next you're gonna tell me my not-girlfriend is with those guys."

"Anyway, we were supposed to be the worst of the worst, but so far we did more than the entire Federation did in the last 10 years."
"Hell, we managed to survive and capture an UE suit. We're gonna get some douche dressed in white and that entire ship as well if we work together."
"If there's an obstacle in our way, we'll break through it together."

"Just who the hell do they think we are?"
>>
>>24690504
>what next a psychic seven year old who's trying to kill us?
Dammit, Ralphie, stop foreshadowing!

"Listen guys. We both may have a Gundam. We both may have ace pilots. But we have something they haven't got: four Geoace pilots that helped defeat four U.E.s and capture one. You know, something that no one to this day has ever done before and lived to tell about it? Uh huh. That's you guys. And once I get the new OS running, you're going to be even more badass."

"Trust me, guys. We got this."

Everyone's jaw drops a little, even the physically ill Arnold seems to be taken aback at your words.

There is silence for a moment and then you decide it might be best to go work on Gundam.

Once you leave Carlos looks between Tim and Ralphie. "You know that part of just about every anime where the main character makes the regular joes feel useless?"

"Yeah?" Tim asks.

"Well I think Jake would make a pretty shitty anime protagonist." Carlos admits with a smile.

"And thank god for that" Ralphie says, breathing a sigh of relief.

You return to the hanger and begin to work on Gundam. The damage isn't bad, you put more work into repairing the Anti-Beam Cloth/Memory then the Gundam itself. You spend 3 hours working on it...and secretly programming in the cape you saved from your LARP box before burning it.

Well, we found it like this, but we painted it to be more like a templar knight motif.

Also, here the legendary Gundam was built 100 years before the AGE-1 unit and served as its prototype.

That's terribly silly. Especially with Flit having designed the AGE-1 himself.
>>

Chat with MaG for a while. Ask him if he has any ideas or something new about the UE.
Then get lunch and back to work. Improve the OS first.

Quick question - do we need MaG for making of the OS?
Could he perhaps tap into the network or something to dig out more information about the Diva and her crew?
Or that virus idea?
>>
>>24691152
retcon.jpg
>>
>>24691152

He did, but the Asuno family built the Gundam we're piloting 100 years ago, and Flit is currently piloting AGE-1 which he did build himself.
>>
>>24691152
AGE-1 was actually partly based on data he inherited from his family. But other than that he built AGE-1 and the AGE System from scratch.
>>
>>24691187
>>24691152
(It was built towards the end of the Colony Nation Wars, not 100 years ago, since that would be A.G. 15, after the war. This Gundam was what the AGE Device was originally used for and the data off of it was used to help develop the AGE-1. AGE-X is an unofficial designation I gave it, it's unrelated to the AGE System)
>>24691159
(You've dug up all you could find online and from Ralphie. The OS is already made, just needs to have the kinks worked out and yes you need Ma G if you want to try and infect the other Gundam with a virus. But you need to be within a day's distance of Fairdain to do it)

>>24690986
>>24691029
You look over Gundam one last time and make sure everything is in order. Ma G isn't up for conversation at the moment, she's busy digesting all the combat data from the battle with the U.E.

You decide to head to lunch and grab something to eat. After grabbing some grub and finding a table, your left to your thoughts. If you could upgrade the Gundam with some internal storage, you could port Ma G to your Cellphone with some proper upgrades. That way, if you ever had to bail out of the Gundam, you could take Ma G with you and not have to worry about her getting tampered with.
>>
>>24691349
Hmm, let's go find us a Quartermaster or if that doesn't work maybe Dorothy, and see if they have a memory thingy lying around or if we'll need to find parts and put it together.
>>
>>24691349
>If you could upgrade the Gundam with some internal storage, you could port Ma G to your Cellphone with some proper upgrades.
Didn't Ma G say that would take weeks?

Maybe we could ask her to analyze the armor piece from the U.E. unit to see what we cook up.
>>
>>24691349
So, finding internal storage units is our next objective, if it wouldn't take too much time.
If it would, then get Ma G to work on analyzing that armor part.

Also, after we're done with installing the OS into other Gundams, we should have another training match.
It'd help the crew to get comfortable with their new improved mobile suits. After that, analyze the combat data, the usual routine.
>>
if we upload a virus to this gundam. the federation might throw us in the slammer
>>
>>24691463
They're already going to do that if we fuck up this mission, so who cares?
Besides, Grodrek and by association Flit are mutineers to the Feds. I highly doubt they'll give a shit how we defeat AGE-1 as long as we do it.

Of course, we'll try talking to them beforehand.
>>
>>24691444
You talk to the Quarter Master and Dorthy Ann. They manage to get you enough memory modules for what you have in mind thanks to both of them being computer nuts like you.

However you decide to have Ma G analyze the U.E. Armor piece you got earlier.

Walking back to the hanger you climb inside the Gundam and plug your phone into the Dashboard.

"Ma G, I need you to analyze this armor piece for me."

"Please put the material into the palm of the Gundam's hand."

You Raise the Gundam's hand to the cockpit and lay it down into the palm of it. Climbing back inside the hand raises to the face of the Gundam, Ma G giving the armor a closer look.

After a half an hour, she begins spitting out feedback results. However there chemical analysis and structure data...

Your not a science buff, you know more about computers but you know enough to figure somethings out about the armor. First thing is, it's not made of alien materials, it has known elements. Second, the structure of the material is plain damn weird. It's like a kind of heat resistant plastic-metal. That explains why the Beam Spread Guns didn't do jack, this stuff dispersed the heat and prevented penetration. However you notice the material itself has a kind of 'grain' to it, almost like wood. it's not very noticeable, but you can see distinct twisting patterns in it. You guess that if you went with the 'grain' of the metal it could be more easily punched through, or you could just brute force your way with the EM Crossbow.

You can't make much of the data, but your sure it'll be useful for later.

It's 5:30 PM. You could work up the OS now, maybe get a head start on that internal storage and Ma G transfer project now.

~Meanwhile Somewhere Else…~
A group of men look over a sterile, white room with a cold sleep pod lying in the center.

“I can’t believe Manos was such a fool to the point where his own son doesn't miss him after his dead.” One other figure says in disgust.

“Desil doesn’t miss anyone that is why he is useful. “ The mask figure says sternly. “Manos was an idiot yes, but he lost to the Ancient Gundam piloted by a child. That’s ether a sign of the other boy’s skills or Manos stupidity. Regardless, we cannot tolerate another Gundam. How is Desil’s ‘plaything’ turning out?” The mask man demands, being handed a report.

“The surgery is complete and the healing sleep should be done within the week. Initial tests showed that the implants have increased her X-Rounder abilities by 300%”

“300%? Even Desil doesn't possess that kind of power…”

“Yes sir. However the girl’s become emotionally unstable. Violent outbursts, psychotic fits of rage and an unusual amount of aggression towards X-Rounders when threatened.”

The masked man sighs. “So her power does not come without a price. Still, she is the first Artificial X-Rounder we have ever created. If we can take a measly X-Rounder and turn her into a walking weapon even Desil cannot keep up with, then this technology shows much promise…”

“We’ve collected all the data we can from her. What do you wish to do with her?”

“Put her under Desil’s guidance, lets see if she can help use get rid of BOTH of the Gundams…”

You let out a yawn and roll out of bed. It's 8:00 AM on a Monday morning. You have 6 more days till you arrive at Fairdain due to the Armstrong altering course to avoid the giant ass ship.

Like you planned you go to lunch and sit down with Dad and the other pilots. You make some small talk with them before asking if they wanted to do another practice exercise.

"Oh no! I'm still sick to my stomach from the last one!" Arnold says with a grimace.

"Oh come on I only kicked you once, Ralphie and Carlos did it the other two times" You say with a smirk. "Besides, I thought you guys wanted to try out the new OS I made for you?"

"A new OS?" Your Dad asks.

"Yeah, it allows you to interrupt the standard motion data, so you aren't stuck in the same programmed motions if you make them" You explain.

"That's...pretty damn awesome son. I definitely want to try it out" Your dad sips his coffee with a proud smile on his face.

After a little cohesion you manage to get Arnold on board and you head off to the hanger. Liz and the Engineers start deploying the shot markers for you guys to use. What equipment do you want to try out, maybe the Full Solid Cowl?

What do you say Jake?
>>
>>24692869
full solid is a go!
>>
>>24692869
Let's try out the solid cowl, and see if we can find a practice melee weapon sort of thing, we'll be using our sword a lot in the future and I'd rather not do it unpracticed.
>>
>>24692869

Full solid. It's probably going to be used in the fight with the crew of the Diva, so we need to practice with that shit.

Make sure we understand how the "wings" function is going to work too, since we want to be able to use Excalibur while it's equipped.
>>
I wonder if our sword has any hidden features
>>
>>24692957

Our entire Gundam might have hidden features. That's the fun of it.

You decide it's time to equip the Full Solid Cloak. You also talk with Liz about using some practice melee weapons (Your getting pretty handy at reading sign language). She and the other engineers make your melee weapons safe through the use of some rubber casting. You have to sit around for an hour for them to finish making sure they're safe, but Ralphie seems happy to be able to use melee weapons.

"So how do you want to set this up?" Dad ask. "There's Five Genoace Pilots and one Gundam pilot. 5 vs one doesn't sound very fair..."

What do you think Jake?
>>
>>24693102

Divide up the teams. Dad's team gets Ralphie and Arnold, and our team gets Carlos and Tim.
>>
>>24693102
"Not fair at all, especially with you on their side.

You and me vs. the other guys sound good Dad? Those four already work really well together and the two of us ought to be able to challenge them. It'll also put the OS through its paces."
>>
>>24693161
>You and me vs. the other guys

What? Dad beat us in a one-on-one, and we've beaten all four of the rookie pilots 4 on 1. At least make it so that it's not a complete slaughter.
>>
>>24693149
These teams seem fair
>>
now that I think about it, it's funny that were are using the Crusader gundam, because the vegans are space arabs.

>>24693161
this sounds like a plan
>>
>>24693149
This looks good, balanced teams, one gets the Jack of Pumpkins, one gets us, and it'll get people used to working in small fireteams.
>>
>>24693149
"Lets make it three on three then. I get Carlos and Time, you can have Ralphie and Arnold. That makes us about even in terms of skill and experience"

"Hmmm, alright, I'm fine with that" your father smiles, giving you a thumbs up.

You break off into your teams to get ready.

"So, what kind of plan did you have in mind?" Tim asks.

"Or are we just going in Guns blazing with no plan?" Carlos asks honestly.

Well Jake?
>>
>>24693306
"Okay, well my Dad is going to try to pull some dirty tricks. The two I saw last time were chaff/smoke missiles and an orange goo thing that locks you up and fucks with your sensors. If you get hit with the goop spin your hand and wipe it off.

We need to stick together and try to lure one of them away from the others, deliberately show an opening that they'd need to drop out of position to pursue, and then we gang up on them and I beat them up with a giant sword.

I'll primarily take point, I've got a melee weapon, a shield, and a solid cowl, it'll take an awful lot of firepower to hurt me. You guys stay behind me and focus fire on the most available target.

Make sure to use cover and the fact that we have three dimensions to work with."
>>
>>24693306

"With me in my new cowl, I'll try to draw their fire and let the armor take care of the hits. Not even a battleship can penetrate this, so it'll be a pretty realistic scenario. Meanwhile, Carlos will go at medium range and provide suppressing fire, dodging as much as possible while Tim works on precision shots to take out any that break formation. How's that?"
>>
>>24693402
>>24693389
"That sounds like a good plan" Tim says.

"Better then what I had in mind. I'm game" Carlos smirks.

"Good, now let's get this started..."
--------------
You finally make it out of the hanger and into space. Your have Carlos and Tim by your side, while your Dad has his team ready.

You have a plan, but what's your first move?
>>
>>24693571

Fire the shot marker at them while staying in formation, focusing on Arnold since you don't want him taking long range shots at you later. Wait for them to make the first mistake.
>>
>>24693571
It's time to be like the Black Tri-Stars and go for the Jet Stream Attack, I'm kidding, probably not the right time.

Take point for our team, have our cowl ready to take some shots, and start taking shots at them.
>>
>>24693643
>>24693645
You take point in front of your team. The Solid Cowl makes the Gundam a little harder to maneuver, but you can feel the added protection.

You slide back the folds and stick out your Gundam's right arm, firing your shot market at Arnold, who dodges it. Dad is keeping his group together pretty well, they aren't breaking. Dividing them up is gonna be hard, but you have defense to abuse.

"I'll take care of my Dad. Tim, you focus on Arnold he can't handle melee combat. Carlos, you handle Ralphie but don't let him get to close." You warn. "Hide behind me and then fly out and attack when I tell you too!"

You speed up, and continue to fire on the group, who lays fire back into you, the shots pattering against your shields. You close distance and Dad rushes forward with Ralphie both of them drawing their melee weapons as Arnold hangs in the back and fires on you, trying to hit your exposed head.

"Wait for it...."

Your father speeds up, coming closer and closer...

"NOW!" You lift the plates up and fire your thrusters, spinning around and flailing the heavy metal plates into your Dad. The sharp turn makes to retch a little due to the high speed, but you manage to smash your father off balance and land a few shots into him.

Carlos guns for Ralphie, staying just out of melee range of him while laying fire into him.

Tim goes straight for Arnold, but your father fires a smoke missile between the two, obscuring Tim's view. "Damn I can't..." Time pushes into the smoke but is hit in the head by a shot from Arnold, then in the leg, then in the torso! Before you can say anything Tim's suit is disabled, Arnold shot him through the smoke!

You focus on your father, firing away at him as you try to use your new found defense and weight against your Dad. You manage to get him to waste his goo grenades on your rear panels, which makes it look like your Gundam had an accident...

(Continued)
>>
>>24693977
"Carlos, can you handle two guys at once?" You ask as you continue to dog fight with your Dad.

"I'll do my best, but your asking a lot!" Carlos says, narrowly avoiding getting elbowed in the face by Ralphie and barely dodging a shot from Arnold.

What now Jake?
>>
>>24694031

Focus on your dad. Keep hammering on the pressure so that he doesn't get out any of his "tricks and treats" he might not have revealed yet.
If you get him into a vulnerable state, pop the cowl to wing mode and go at him with Excalibur. The back panels should take care of Arnold attempting to fire upon you.
>>
>>24694031
We just need to get Dad off of us long enough to help out Carlos.

So lay into our Dad, we've got a lot of thrusters, a shield, a heavy defensive cowl, and a sword. So act like a brick with rockets attached, knock him off balance and keep swinging, once he's on the defensive we might be able to take an opportunity to back off and help Carlos.
>>
>>24694138
>>24694137
You keep at your dad for what seems like ages, but you eventually begin to wear him down. You abuse your defense like some men abuse laws, stopping his shots and smashing him away when he tries to get into melee, he adapts and starts going for your un-shielded parts, but those take more concentration to get at and while he's aiming for your head, he get just enough time to knock his Shot Marker out of his Genoace's hands and knock him backwards.

With Dad going for his gun, you go for Arnold. He's a crack shot, hitting you every time, but he can't hit the un-shielded spots and once your close enough you holster your shot marker and whip out your 'dulled' Excaliber and smash it into his Genoace, sending him flying backwards. The 'fake' damage is enough to totally disable his suit.

Without Arnold harassing him, Carlos is able to get in the shots to finally hit and take out Ralphie, but not before Ralphie disables Carlo's firing arm.

Your Dad speeds underneath you and grabs Arnolds Shot maker. He pushes his Genoace's speed and begins to rain down hell on you, flying above and below your suit to ignore the advantage of your armor, and revealing you slowed turning speed.

Carlos is free, but his firing arm is disabled, he's only capable of melee. Dad is now duel wielding and he's figured out your weak spot while wearing the full solid cowl

You can detach the solid cowl, maybe catch him off guard but it would leave you very vulnerable.

What now Jake?
>>
>>24694354

Engage wingmode and use the additional thrusters thrusters to evade fire, providing suppressing fire when you can, but focusing on evading.

Make sure to zoom away from Carlos' position, allowing him to flank dad and hit him at close range. Sometimes we have to be the guy used as the distraction too, ya know.
>>
>>24694354
Two questions, the first silly, the second serious. First, can we detach the cowl and surf on it? Second, can we detach it and have it ram right into dad and follow behind it using it as armor while getting our maneuverability back?

If we can do the second one have Carlos try to tarpit our dad and distract him for long enough to pull off the cowl, thruster it at him, and follow behind it. The goal is to get him in melee with us and use our regained mobility to keep him in melee as we smack him around with a sword.
>>
>>24692869
>interrupt the standard motion data

XM3 OS versus X-Rounder powers.

Brains vs Psychic hax.

Or rather, Carlos + XM3 should be an edge against Mellie.

We should test to see if the UE mech's arm can rotate 180 like we did with the Gundam.
>>
>>24694592
>Or rather, Carlos + XM3 should be an edge against Mellie.

Makes sense, but remember that Mellie got some crazy cybernetic surgery s now she's a -super- X-Rounder. Carlos is most likely one, but nowhere near what she's got.

Is it "Mellie", or "Mellis"? I don't know which one is the typo.
>>
>>24693220
A crusader knight gundam against space arabs who have robo-dragons. Sounds like a Saint George allegory.
>>
Is is time to do as Master Asia did? Tell Carlos to launch the Gundam and use the thrusters to spin with the swords out.
>>
>>24694682
He only has one functional arm now. That technique, if it works at all in this universe, won't even be accurate.
>>
>>24694669

This just goes to show that Japs cannot into symbolism, unlike us.
>>
>>24694665
(It's Melis)

>>24694506
You open the wings, exposing yourself but giving you a boost in mobility. You fly out of your Dad's reach, trying to keep him as occupied as possible as Carlos flies in from behind.

You focus less on firing and more on evading, but due to your decrease in speed your dad has an easier time keeping up with you even with your added mobility. He fires his dual Shot markers and manages to get a lucky strafe as you try to make a hard turn. Your head is disabled and your firing arm is too.

"Looks like I got you!" Your Dad exclaims as you rip out your dulled Excalibur and toss it at him. He leans his suit to the left and dodges it with ease.

"You need work on your aim"

"Who said I was aiming at you?" You Dad spins around in time to see Carlos, rushing towards him, wielding the Excalibur in one hand.

"Halloween...just got canceled!" His swing is clumsy, but it connects and sends Dad flying backwards, the 'fake' damage disabling his suit.

"Damn...that was pretty good" Dad admits.

"Well don't feel bad about it. I pulled that one out of my ass" You say with a laugh.

"What am I? Chopped liver? I just disabled the Jack of Pumpkins!"

"You did pretty good yourself Carlos. You can be my wingman anyday"

Your thoughts on the match Jake?
>>
>>24694710

>>
>>24694834
>"Halloween...just got canceled!"
CARLOS!
>>
>>24694834
Carlos did an excellent job, there was a lot good tactics on both sides, both sides split up in order to accomplish objectives, both pulled weird dirty tricks on the other, and thought quickly on their feet. Dad's trick with the chaff missile was very effective.

The cowl was very effective though the lowered mobility is a problem.

All in all a good match, good training, lots of data.
>>
>>24694834
"Your puns aren't quite as bad I thought they would be, Carlos."
"The match itself was fantastic. Did anyone notice anything different with that now OS installed? I'd like a little feedback."

"It was a little awkward at first" Arnold admitted. "However it made it a lot easier to aim, if I made the wrong movement with my Genoaces arm I could stop and move it to where I wanted too. It helped a lot"

"Same thing with it in melee. That's how I got Carlos, I faked him out thinking I was gonna upper cut him when I suddenly did a Jab." Ralphie explained with a grin.

"See? This is what happens when I get to crack a pun now then then." Carlos laughs. "Mobility wise it helped a ton too."

"I noticed a drastic change in how the suit responded, took a little longer to get used to it, but I like the changes" Tim states.

"You did a kickass job writing this son, but...let's not go giving it away to anyone outside of the ship quite yet. We might need to keep it to ourselves if things go south"

"I gotcha dad, you all did a great job. Now let's get some lunch!"

You begin messing with the drives. You lose yourself in thought and before you know it you have assembled a drive core out of the many smaller drives, then your working on your phone. You continue to work and work and work and before you know it, your hands are shaking and you've pissed and shit yourself.

Congradulations Jake, you managed to do a job that should have taken weeks in a 36 hours. Your eyes are blood shot, your pants are disgusting and you look like a trainwreck but you did it!
