You are the Overlord.
Or at least, you were. Your tower has been destroyed, minions scattered, and you were defeated.
What the men who beat you did not know is that you can not die.
You merely wait.
Wait for your lost powers to recover... Wait for the shell that is your armor to reform. Wait.. To rule again.

It seems that your power has waned significantly in the time you have been resting.
While before you could summon legions of the damned to serve you, you now find it difficult to summon so much as a flare of dark energy.

Still, you are skilled with a sword. That counts for something.

You idle away a few years, waiting for more of your power to grow.
Now you can summon skeleton imps. They may be the reanimated bodies of already dead imps but a few are still enough to take down most men.
Your control over the elements has increased as well. Before a small fireball was all you could summon but now you can wrap your entire body in a cloak of flames.

In the time you have been waiting the village has grown. Everyone once in a while you hear the joy of festivals, perhaps even a wedding or two.

Skimps, what a delightful name. You send out a few of them to do recon. It seems at the moment that you can summon a total of 12 at any one time. 5 should suffice for simple recon. They will find out more about the village, including it's weakness.

No need for kidnapping an idiot. Instead...

Breaking minds is not your area of expertise. You specialize in destruction and reainimation. Anything else you only have the most basic of skills in.

>>24770829
The name sounds familiar but you are not certain as to why. Perhaps he was the minion of a cousin of yours?

It matters not. With a few Skimps in tow you manage to go deeper into the village without incident. It seems the security of the place is rather lax. They have grown dull in your absence.

Using the knowledge gained from your newly acquired soul you manage to find the Mayor's home.
It is far too easy...
You manage to capture the man and take him away back to your ruined tower. He is a fat man, one who has led an easy life.

He looks around with eyes that only the rich can have.

>"I say, how dare you kidnap me you fiend! I will have your head rolling in the morning if you do not let me free!"

Just a quick look into his thoughts show he is weak in both mind and body
>>
>>24770939
I think red riding hood was one
>>
>>24770905
I was honestly thinking we take the entire town in one night. Nobody will survive to raise an alarm as we work through the night.

Of course, that was assuming we do not have the power of subjugation... but even if we do I feel we are too weak right now. We should harvest this one town and then subjugate the next one... Assuming QM even gives us the power of subjugation at all.

Also, someone mentioned gaining power from being worshiped by subjects, this is definitely not canon so its another question of "do we have such a power"?
>>
>>24770956
>Breaking minds is not your area of expertise. You specialize in destruction and reainimation.
Kill him for his soul, go door to door, house to house, killing every person in the night for the soul. And reanimate the whole village afterwards.
>>
>>24770956
Give him a swift backhand. Inform him that if he does not mind his tongue he will have it ripped from his head and fed to him
>>

But that is easy. If we leave some alive we can enlist the poor souls and have them act like us and raid near by villages for slaves to rebuild or keep into a giant castle.

>>24770966
How big is the town?
Depending how many people live here we simply might not have enough time to quietly kill them all without anyone raising the alarm.

Playing a truly evil overlord for once, I approve. If we don't start immediately this will turn into "pragmatic" overlord who has more good deeds than bad.

>Depending how many people live here we simply might not have enough time to quietly kill them all without anyone raising the alarm.
True, but we specialize in necromancy, and we gain magical power with each murder. By the time they notice there would be a large army of undead in their town. Also we can start some fires with our fireballs.

Excellent. Gather our minions and head into town under cover of dark.

Start killing people in their sleep. Any skilled craftsmen we might need (smith, mason, taylor) will be kidnapped along with their families.

We will then send the minions back for and loot they missed.

Soon you have drained 4 new souls from various townspeople and kidnapped a priest and a scribe. Not the most useful of people but it is a start.

Hahaha. You had not considered that. The new souls teem with information and you can easily locate this Elizibeth.

As you move through the village you are stopped. A woman's voice calls out to you and you turn to see a knight, clad in armor and holding a shining blade. The blade hurts to even look at and some part of your mind recognizes it as one of the many that destroyed your armor.

>"My grandfather warned me of you! He said one day you would return!"

"I have no idea what you're talking about."

Right now I'm thinking of those other towers the mayor mentioned.

We need the power boost and resources but murdering this entire town is going to attract a lot of attention.

Maybe we could move into one of the other towers. One that doesn't have a massacred town next door that will attract every adventurer in the country.

Best of both worlds. New slaves and minions. As much loot as they can carry and a nice secure, secret base to launch our reign of terror from.

Set every single skimp and minion we have on her. Thats 12 skimps and I believe 6-7 minions? Support them with destructive magic. We really should have been more efficient about this and going door to door rather then faffing about, had we done that we would have more minions by now.

Mistresses are a thing of status more than function. Besides, a former paladin Blackguard Lieutenant looks good in any evil resume, regardless of whether or not you can fuck them. Like corrupting a fae queen. Thats done on principle first, everything else is just fringe benefits.

Hey, I am ALL for it.. personally I dislike the undead and would prefer at least demons or some minion species (goblins, etc)... my favorite thing to do is domination.

But that is not what this character knows how to do. We need to play to our strengths rather then our weaknesses... besides, we could pay extra special attention to her and raise her as a vampire rather then a zombie

You send them all in. Every Skimp at your command and all your minions.
As they rush her you begin casting all your spells at her. Dark flames and ice fly toward her.

But they all break. The spells fizzle out before they hit her and your minions are killed. The Skimps are easy enough to replace but the minions she strikes down... Not so much.

She stands there, surrounded by the pieces of your minions. She only seems to be slightly wounded, if at all.

Sadly the ones you gained from those who have been soul drained are gone forever.

You do however still have plenty more Skimps. You summon as many as you can and have them charge her again. She slashes at them, falling down many in one swing.
However for each one she strikes down another appears, eager to take down the swordsman.

Instead of casting spells directly at her you instead use them on your Skimps. Fire surrounds their claws and unlike the direct spells you cast on her these hit.
It takes a few minutes but she soon falls.
The Skimps pry her blade from her hands and once it is no longer in her grasp it's holy light fades.
She kneels there, not begging or anything.

>>24773536
Skimps are a type of imp minion. The other minions you gain from soul draining are more like zombies.

>It doesnt matter if I die, X will still stop you!
And now we know that X is gunning for us and that we have to be on the lookout for X.

Consequently, she seems awfully new at this. Young minds are fragile, like eggshells. We just have to crack it a little, either through the destruction of her town or a few choice words. Maybe both.
>>
need info, where did she get a holy blade? and we can keep her locked up for a while if we need to. maybe have her watch as we destroy what she set out to protect. and then, we be nice to her, confuse her, have stockholm syndrome set in. control her without magic.

"Is that the best 'you' have young paladin? Beaten by a simple swarm of imps? Not even this holy blade could help you."

>"... Even if I could not defeat you there are others who can. All around there are people like me. People who have sworn their lives to destroying evil Overlords like yourself. You will be taken down. You will fall."

Beyond that she says nothing else. You have the Skimps bind her and take her away to the tower. After you are done with this village you can interrogate her more. Or maybe even make her into a champion minion.

The night goes by uneventfully and soon you have replaced the lost Undead, you even added 2 more to their rank.
However it is becoming day and your powers will wane if you stay in the dark much longer. You make a special note to the Skimps to see if they can gather Elizibeth without much notice.

You return to your tower.
Already the place hums with new energy. The souls you have drained power the magic of the tower, allowing it to slowly recover from it's damage.

The sun rises and in your weakened state you feel your powers slip away. Magic and summoning is now mostly beyond you. Until you become stronger the day will be your bane. While you may be weaker you are certainly not powerless. You do not require sleep, food, or drink.
You have some hours before night falls again.
>>
>>24774046
Interrogate the paladin, and possibly soul drain her if we can do that during the day.
>>
Go to the Paladin and stare at her. Do not speak, do not do anything to harm her. Just stare at her. Drive her mad with the anticipation of her doom.

>>
>>24774105
no soul draining.
>>
>>24773976
>She is more valuable alive for now

Why is she more valuable alive? We will gain a lot of her knowledge by soul-sucking her.

By the time we've finished off the entire town, we'll know more than any one of them could have told us.

If the town has a archive or library, we can loot that too for extra intel/something to read in our spare time.

She is a skilled warrior with holy powers that repel us and fuck up our magic. Keeping her alive is a pointless risk.

If you absolutely MUST keep her alive. At least cut her hands and feet off to stop her being a problem.

inb4 she has holy healing powers and regenerates, escapes and becomes our arch-nemesis.
>>
>>24774105
Don't interrogate her on anything important, though. Not yet, anyways. Fuck with her mind by asking her about mundane things like the festival, her aspirations in life, her grandfather. Stuff like that. We want to keep her off balance.
>>
>>24774106

I like this, gloating is fun and all but fucking with her mind a little might have interesting results.
>>
>>24774186

Correction, we will only gain SOME. Likely little more than she has already told us. Of course, we can always threaten to soul suck her in order to learn the location of her grandfather.
>>
>>24774186
Actually we only get glimpses of what they know. Plus not corrupting her shows we are only a shitty Overlord. It is much MUCH more impressive if we can corrupt instead of kill.
>>
>>24774186
>Soul draining only provides very basic details. Besides, this is fun.

Again, at the very least, this. She clearly is of s different sort. She gas given us the basic idea there are more paladins. She is a goldmine. Crippling her might be prudent however
>>
>>24774214
Maybe combine these two - >>24774200 and >>24774105?
Whenever she tries to get us to talk about our nefarious plans, we just ask her about her something mundane in her life.
>>
>>24774170

>>
>>24774237
Yes, but in our weakened state I'm doubtful we could do much if she rebelled. I also don't think sucking the soul out of someone and turning them into a minon is something a commoner or even a non-archmage magician would know, so it probably is fairly impressive in that sense.
>>
Have the skimps make a nice dinner at a table for two. Bring her there to eat and talk with you, offer to unbind her if she agrees not to try to flee or attack for the duration of the meal. Acting nice is likely more effective than cruelty, and if it doesn't work we can torture her more effectively when our powers return anyway.

As it stands you can drain out her soul, that is always a power you have. Killing her has it's benefits and it's downsides as well. So does leaving her alive.
Perhaps a compromise? You could easily cripple her or even take most of her soul. Few are able to put up any meaningful sort of fight with half of their soul gone.

Either way it seems she is not going to say anything.
You spend a few hours simply staring at her. Your bright red eyes are met by hers and she does not falter. You are able to stand as still as a statue and while her body moves ever so slightly as she breathes or blinks she maintains her posture.
>>
>>24774403
I would prefer crippling. We can always have her fixed when we eventually turn her into an undead vampire or the like. I want her to want us to turn her into a higher ranking undead though.
>>
>>24774403
every night we stare at her eat a little bit of her soul. She'll feel herself slipping away. Becoming weaker and weaker. Eventually she will break. But it will take time.
>>
makes sense, it's only the first day. things like this take time. and we have plenty. have her cuts fixed up but keep her here. a slight drop of kindness will confuse her making the next stare-down better.

Yes, suck out half her soul and cut off her hands and feet.

>>
>>24774653
If we just want to do that, we could easily just kill and resurrect her. A corrupt mortal is a lot more interesting. Might be more valuable too, we don't know yet, but since it's not possible to unkill her we should find out.
>>
>>24774559
>cut off her hands and feet.
Why? if we do that she will be useless to us as a minion, and currently she would make a CHAMPION minion if turned.

>>24774497
How is this soul corruption method a better corruption method then sucking her soul? Sucking her soul would:
1. Make her soul a slave to ours which works in our tower
2. Transform her body into a champion minion with most of her skills from when she was alive and using the magics we are best at.
>>
Did we take her sword?
A trophy case full of the sacred swords of former paladins would be a nice bit of decor.
>>
>>24774637

Just the word kindness makes you feel a bit ill...

>>24774485
It shouldn't either way. If you steal her soul you can simply return it later. Or take it all and she will retain her fighting abilities.
As an undead though she will have lost the ability to think clearly.
This >>24774497 is possibly the best plan. It fits your schedule better anyway. You have infinite time and so long as she is within your tower she does too.

You reach down and touch the paladin's face. It is a soft touch at first but the tips of your gauntlet sink slightly into her skin. She is still able to maintain her glare until you take a small portion of her soul. No mortal can maintain their composure at that and she is no different. Her eyes glaze over a bit and she looks ready to faint. You release her and simply walk away.
You can return that portion later, after it has been corrupted.

>>24774653
It is still messy work. If she is stupid then you can do this. For now she seems to be too weak to fight back anyway

.>>24774649
You do have a body. However having a son is not on your list of things to do. It would be distracting.
Besides, why have an heir when you are an immortal ruler? Heirs imply that you think you will fall.

Sons can be trained to administer our domain, and as beings of our seed will hold a fraction of our power. As they take time to mature, we should get started before we need one. For fucks sake, you're making a bigger deal out of it than they are. Like I said earlier, I would have suggested the same damn thing if she was a dude. This bitch is a power player and power players make better tactical units than pawns. You dont treat your queen or your bishop like a pawn in chess.

If it makes you happy then fine.
Her hands and feet are now separated from her body. They will be sealed away and returned to her good as new at another point in time.
It is interesting to note that her silence did not hold while they were being severed. It doesn't matter. You do make sure to tell her that she's only lost her appendage privileges for a while. You assure her they will be returned at a later point, if she behaves.
She's too busy being in shock to reply.

>>24775067
From within your tower you can see people moving around, many of them seem confused. Alarm has not been raised but people are very much on edge.

Is there anything else to do until night falls or shall you simply wait?
>>
>>24774953
To hell with having sons. Minions can administer our domain and we are immortal.

Also while we are an evil overlord, fuck not to being a rapist, please!

>>24774956
Yea, waifuing up the wazzu.
But it would be better to damage the tendons then to chop off appendages. We do have confirmation that he can put her back together but it will be "messy work"

>>

I assume our methods of appendage preservation and infection prevention are adequate to prevent irreversible damage? If not we should rectify that. Otherwise, then yeah I think we just wait until night.
>>

Just stare at the village, ocassionally whispering "soon".
>>
>>24775144
We have confirmation that we can take bits of her soul, taint them magically, and then return them until she is fully corrupt. We have started the process. Lets just move on.

>>24775098
How close is it to night? How many minions and skrimps do you currently have?
>>
>>24775136
>fuck not to being a rapist, please
Based on the discussion at this moment in the quest general, I would imagine part of the point to this thread is making a quest where we're ACTUALLY evil. Not some weird white knight evil overlord who fights for freedom and just calls himself evil ironically.

No.

>>24775155
Of course. It is similar to the magic that keeps you alive.

>>24775173
As it stands you have 4 Undead minions and 14 Skimps at your disposal.
You also have two normal human prisoners besides the paladin. You can soul drain them and add them to your undead numbers as they have yet to provide any sort of useful information despite the Skimps stabbings.
>>
>>24775136
Minions are explicitly mindless and can't give advice.
>>
>>24775198
Yeah, I would assume the idea is to be evil, which would include rape and torture
>>

Did you really amputate her hands and feet because ONE whiny bastard demanded it despite everyone calling it dumb?

>>
>>24775271
Just soul drain them. We need more bodies to throw anyway.
>>
>>24775098
>You do make sure to tell her that she's only lost her appendage privileges for a while.

Best Evil Overlord line ever. Ever.

>Is there anything else to do until night falls or shall you simply wait?
Observe them. Make note of any town guard or sell swords about. They are the types most likely to get in our way tonight, mark their locations so we can take them out first.

Assuming nothing of note comes up, wait until the town is asleep and move out. You know who to kill first.
>>
>>24775198
>Not being a rapist while torturing people to death is being a white knight

>>24775275
I misused the terms. I meant Minions as in a general term for servants not the specific term for magically animated undead whose souls we stole. so... servants, underlings, etc.
>>
>>24775271
The other peasants are just useless, right? No reason not to soul drain as far as I know.
>>
>>24775198
>>24775280
There is a difference in being evil and being edgy. Sure, all rapists are evil, but you don't have to be a rapist to be evil. “Lulz I raep the paladyke” just takes the thread to shitty places that I have no desire of going to. Go join that Deadhands quest if you want that kind of evil.
>>
Best plan ever. Walk into everyone's houses one at a time soul drain them into slaves then head to the next house.
>>
>>24775326
We may want to use the blackmail idea against the blacksmith, with Elizibeth. We can always soul drain them later, but I would rather have the most skilled blacksmith we can
>>
>>24775271
Soul drain them. Wander the tower to assess the damage if you have time. Otherwise, its time to go bump in the night.
>>
>>24775323
Cool. For the record, I can't think of any reason why our own children would be inherently less trustworthy than some random minion though.
>>
>>24775373
Adding onto that, we could soul drain the Elizibeth and just keep her looking normal. Then when the blacksmith finished forging everything we want him to we show him the ruse and soul drain him too.
>>
>>24775390
Will and ambition separate from out own.
>>
>>24775408
>implying that he would ever be finished forging us weapons.
>>
>>24775271
>You also have two normal human prisoners besides the paladin

One of them was the smith right? I originally suggested taking them alive because we'll need the skilled labour, but, if the zombie-minions keep their skills, just soul-suck them.

Remember to keep the skilled-labour minions at home when we go out. We'll need them later.
>>
>>24775446
Once we find a better blacksmith, of course he will.
>>
>>24775390
I am assuming they inherit some of our magical powers.
However, if they are totally normal boys and girls then yes, they are no different then anyone else.
Except we have to deal with diapers and waiting for years to get them... Also instead of choosing the 1 in a 1000 most suitable for a task we go by nepotism and assign someone unsuitable.
>>
>>24775475
By the time we find a better blacksmith we will need more blacksmiths anyway.
>>
>>24775373
Yeah, this. Don't soul drain Elizabeth or the Blacksmith, we should corrupt them as the paladin, the blacksmith so that we have a blacksmith, and Elizabeth to keep the blacksmith happy until he's corrupted.

You can always attach her hands and feet back if it's that bothersome. It's not like she was using them for anything anyway.

You drain the souls of the two men you have captured. They were only a Priest and a Scribe anyway.

You realize that you actually haven't checked to see what you have lying around.

As you travel the tower you notice most of it has been looted.
Perhaps...

You go down a staircase, into a hallway that leads to a dead end, and touch a certain stone. A slab of stone moves aside and you find yourself in your a small Treasure Room.

While not as grand as the main one it does have some useful items. Suits of armor line the walls. Maps, books, and scrolls are scattered across the shelves.
The armor may not be useful to you but you can equip it to some of your Undead to make them a bit tougher in battle.
>>
>>24775408
"You can see her now"\
'blacksmith moves to her, a tear in his eye'
"Its so good to see you're alright, everything is going to be better"
He hugs her, her arms wrap around him, he trys to pull away, she won't let him.
"Don't worry young blacksmith, you can be with her forever."
*stab into his back and drain his soul slowly, just to increase the amount of pain he endures*
>>
>>24775535
Yeah, minions should be armored since we can. Maps... We should review them, but no real need to bother until we've finished off the village.
>>
>>24775535
>You can always attach her hands and feet back if it's that bothersome.

Nah, just leave them for now. We'll give them back later if she makes any progress. Like a reward system; every time she murders someone in cold blood, see gets a limb back.

>books, and scrolls
What kind? Magic? Or just our old stash of porn?
>>
>>24775684
kinda hard for her to murder someone if she has no limbs.
>>
>>24775684
Or, we finish using MAGIC to corrupt her soul and then reattach all of them. It is the least amount of work and gives us the most amount of returns.
>>
>>24775728
Bite their kneecaps off!
>>
>>24775535
Inspect maps and scrolls and outfit some minions. The map might be useless in regards to small villages, but ancient cities ought to be in the same places and geography should still be in mostly the right place.
>>24775684

That seems sort of counter intuitive, given you need limbs to murder things. She doesnt need her hands right now anyways, though.

Right now the tiny fragment you have is fully corrupted. It doesn't take long once it is joined with your own dark energy.

And no, you don't plan on the paladin fighting anyone yet. Perhaps when more of her soul is ruined but as it stands she is fine where she is.
You take some of the armor and outfit your Undead and give small shields to the Skimps.
You work away the daylight hours making note of all the tomes you still have and the various maps. Soon it is night.
As you head out someone is brought into your tower. A Skimp is holding a woman who you can assume is Elizibeth. She appears to be in a daze, as though a very heavy object had recently been used to hit her over the head.

>>

Let's talk to her first. Ask her how she's been, how life is going, what about that blacksmith boy eh?

>>
>>24775912
Apparently, when we turn someone into a minion they keep much of their knowledge and basic skills.

So far it's unclear /how much/ they keep.
Depending on the answer to this, we can either just soul suck them and put them to work or enslave and corrupt them.

OP, can you shed some light on this?
>>
>Elizabeth sneaking at night with the blacksmith
>We stole his soul and minionized him, which was then killed by paladin.

Just minionize her. If I mixed it up and the blacksmith is alive, give him the same corruption treatment you are giving the paladin.

It's a bad plan in this case since we're essentially using her as bait to get the blacksmith to cooperate, so we need to treat her fairly well.

>>24776023
We never minioned the blacksmith. And we kidnap all of our victims before we minionize them since the skimps cant do it, only we can. She was just one we showed some previous interest in as a way to get to the blacksmith. Now we should nab the smith and tell him to start working for us unless he wants Lizzie here to look a lot more dreary and soulless.

Of course.

You lead Elizibeth to the dungeon where the paladin is resting.
Along the way you ask her about the blacksmith.

>"Damien? He is a nice boy... Did I trip?
What is this place?"

"It doesn't matter. You will be staying here for a while Elizibeth. And I will be sure to bring Damien here as well. Would you like that?"

She nods, still quite confused about what's going on.

You lead her to the dungeon and put her in a separate cell from the paladin. While you're at it you knock her out too. No point in her being awake.

You then go check on the paladin. When the door to her cell opens the paladin tries to move away from you as best as she can, fear now fills her eyes. Her movement is slowed due to not only the lack of feet and hands but a fractured soul. You move up to her and touch her face again, returning the bit of her soul that was corrupted while taking another piece away. Her breath stops for a moment and she falls over.

Done

Now, shall we take over the village? It is night and your powers are stronger than they were the last night.
>>
I was wrong, it was:
Taken alive: a priest, a scribe, 2 bitches
Minionized: 4 random townsfolk
>>
>>24776012
Perhaps we can corrupt the blacksmith's soul like we are doing to the paladin.
Hell, it should be easier even if he's a good man, since he's not a trained warrior of light.

Plus, he might develop some cool stuff with that freshly granted wicked brain of his.
>>
>>24776133
Go to town, shopping list: One blacksmith and as many fresh minions as can be found.
>>
>>24776085
Ah, but we can leverage how well she is treated with how well he behaves. Start out with her being treated like shit, and have her living conditions improve as he does what we say.
>>
>>24776140
oh yeah we still have 2 bitches. Once we've taken the town we should spend a bit of time training them to be evil seductresses or something.

Could we pull off some crazy shit and bind a succubus to their body? Flying demonic seductresses would be a great tool to corrupt the souls of men in distant settlements
>>
>>24776145
We should... We should name it to differentiate it from minionizing... Soul-corrupting? Soulupted? Tainted?

>>24776190
Leverage is pointless when we can corrupt his soul so he doesn't give a damn about her. She should just be kept as leverage WHILE we are corrupting him, once he is fully corrupted minionize her unless she has a useful skill of her own.
>>
>>24776145
We might be able to corrupt him without magic mumbo jumbo. Men will do anything for the one they love.
>>
>>24776145
If minionizing him lets him keep 90% of his skills, I say we just do that and don't waste our time on him.

If it causes a significant loss of skill then we could do that. If it's even needed. There are more conventional ways of enslaving people.
>>
Suggestion:

Given that slowly removing parts of the soul from someone puts them completely in your power and makes them mostly useless, and presumably somewhat deranged, why don't we start a "Post Adventuring Stress Disorder Rehabilitation Clinic" headed by a perfectly loyal minion.

Not only do we have a great place to keep adventurers until we can turn them in into "Post-Homicidal/Homeless Persons/Gainfully Employed, Once Daring, Just, And Newly Graduated Optimists." Our PHP/GEODJANGO minions will infiltrate parts of the social layers of society that we, as a genuine Horrifying, Terrible, and Malevolent Lich, cannot.

You set off into the night.
While the people of the town may have felt uneasy it would appear they did not spend any time gather additional defenses. You easily creep into their houses and drain each and every one of their souls, save a few special cases.
Soon the entire town has fallen. In total you have gained 23 Undead Minions, 1 additional woman, and have gained the ability to summon up to 6 skeletons. Far stronger than a Skimp.
As you make your way through the town with your ever growing army you come across the blacksmith. He points a steel blade at you but the moment he sees your army behind you he drops his blade and holds up his hands.

That was easy.

You are the Overlord. A being who has gained immense dark powers in exchange for things that will not be missed. You are of flesh but no longer have any ties to it's weaknesses. That is all that truly matters.

Anyway, you have obtained the smith.
And everyone else in the village. Not a soul remains for you to drain, nor does anyone of any notable skill.
>>
>>24776568
That is an excellent point. A corrupt smith will be inventing instruments of torture and pain that we would not dream of. A captive one blackmailed by having his GF captive would be trying to temper our evil and only following our orders to the letter.
>>
>>24776568

Also, it's not like tainting his soul would be hard. We're tainting the paladin at a decent pace, the smith is no holy warrior so he'll come around quickly.

Set minions scribe & priest to go through the maps, books, and scrolls.
Have your other minions go through the village and collect possessions, sorting them between trade goods, recyclables (plows to be converted into swords, pots and pans into armor), and treasure.

Personally focus full attention on corrupting paladin, then smith. Find out if elizabeth has any useful redeeming features besides being a pretty face
>>
>>24776601
We really dont even need to. He is already our thrall.

Skeletons AND Skimps.

With the town under you complete control you have plenty of time to work on the Smith, Paladin, and women you have gained.
The smith and elizibeth are the first to fall. Without a pure holy soul they are easily turned into loyal minions. Damien seems to be content making arms and armor while his love is fine just being around him. They take only a day or two to turn to your side.

The paladin however
She is a stubborn one.

It has been two weeks now and not even half of her is corrupt.
Now that she is used to the pain of her soul being torn out her glare has returned.

This. She's just saying it so we give up. She WILL turn, sooner or later.

You would be a worse overlord than Cobra Commander.

"Tell me, do you feel any more pain when I touch you? No? That is because it is working."

>"It's not."

You stare her down for a moment then leave the room. You return with a mirror and place it in front of her. No more words are needed and you can see the Paladin's heart break. Tears stream down her face once she she's what she has already lost and how much more she has left to lose.
You take the mirror with you and leave her alone in the cell. You walk to the highest point of the tower and remove your helmet. The night air hits your skin and you look over what was left of the village you have claimed as your own.
This is how it will be for the rest of the world. You will take over every village, every town, every kingdom.
You will rule them with an iron fist and a heart as cold as ice.
You will be their Overlord.

Too bad, it's worth continuing.

Nice twist though.

Turns out she sold her soul to advance feminism and that's why the women were spared.

Indeed. Please do continue it if possible, OP. I and quite a few others are enjoying this.

Yeah this is over and done. I really just wanted to see if a quest with an actually evil overlord could be done.
Good job /tg/!
May every overlord quest be filled with evil and corruption.

You run something on tgchan perhaps? Your style looks familiar.

I knew your style looked familiar. I wasnt gonna say anything though, lest the thread fill with references. You do seem to like your female MCs, though.

Archived it.
>>
>>24777498
Doesn't prove much when it's only one thread and people haven't had time to get emotionally invested yet.

Anyway, if you feel like doing a sequel thread some time, this was fun and a successor would be good. But I reckon it stands okay on its own.
>>
>>24777962

Indeed. If you don't do this quest, I'm sure someone else will eventually. It's a solid idea and evil shenanigans are bound to be fun

It all happened here on /tg/ and /i/, tgchan is just the only place I've found with a quick google to have the archive. Gore is mostly the monsters and enemies getting slaughtered by the little overlad.

an attempted reboot, then nothing

I had fun, having someone draw out your choices is always a perk to.
Plus the effort involved in some of the most idiotic things..
>>
>>24780256
So someone with an ass load of talent rocks up, gives a decent yet mature story line (with tits and whatever but hey thats the game it was based off of) and instead of merely asking him to move his thread to /h/ or another website in a polite fashion they outright banned the thread master?

Mods have a lot to answer for if that is the case. There are rules yes, but then there is just being a douche.

The timing was right after rubyquest if i recall, and everyone was still very polarized on whether or not quest threads were /tg/ or not. Also when we had one of the banhappy badwrongfun mods to boot.

I am glad to see that quest threads have become a mostly accepted thing, including the drawfags running them.
>>
>>24780359
No wonder shit got banned. And now it looks outright dumb and like everything this quest was trying to avoid being.
>>
>>24780424
>including the drawfags running them.
Drawfags running them is almost a tgchan-only thing at this point.
>>
>>24780424
It is a pity as I LOVED Ruby Quest (was there when it started on Page one, but didn't get to see it end due to being overseas) still I do love a good quest thread and hell we have them practically every day here now. Does anyone have the artist/story master's email/where abouts? Let's see if we can get them to come back.
>>
>>24780436
>like everything this quest was trying to avoid being.
That doesn't look like white knighting to me.
>>
>>24780451
I tried a year or two ago, hunted endrian down on another web based group drawing board type thing and essentially got a "It was fun but fuck the trolling and toxic mods, might try again someday but don't hold your breath sorry."

>>24780436
Give a thread full of fa/tg/uys an artist willing to do porn for 'their' character and look what happens, hell we collected fine bitches in this little quest even just being a suit of armor as far as we knew.

Would it be possible to get a link to that group, if Endrian still draws I'd love for his attention to detail (especially with those awesome armour sets) to be used for NPCS in my gaming world.

Price would be no problem, I just have to get that guy to draw.
