Discussion here:
http://tgchan.org/kusaba/questdis/res/69289.html#69425

You are a human-form gargoyle crafted of marble set to protect a small town on the frontier of the wild darkness. Your people are still ignorant of what you are, and rightfully so.

Knowledge of what you are would simply prove that they fear you or the monsters among them tempt your destruction.

Last night: You encountered a dangerous and malicious foe known as the Lady of Teeth, an Unseelie Duchess.

Going toe to toe with the Fae, you found your mana reserves to be low and her crushing maw proved that even the solid and dense state of your marble was nothing before her.

After having both of your arms bitten off, you retreated back to your town as the Lady of Teeth swore that she would devour you for your insult upon her.

You speak to Alice of the incident and the young woman goes pale, never having heard of thius duchess, yet knowing that even a duchess of the Unseelie was indeed bad news.

Youshrug off her worry, yet you are at a conflict as whether you desire revenge, or whether you will make amends with the Fae.

During the day, you are left alone till noon, when a strange white-haired woman enters your church and begins chipping away at your body and examining you.

The thought crossed your mind to punish her, however you chose to speak.

Much to your surprise, the woman knows of gargoyles. She introduces herself as Marble Mason. She claims no mastery, however she tells you that she has skill to work with and maintenance gargoyles.

She offers you various treatments and you decide to attain copper veining to compliment your iron and silver veins. . .

Awaken Gargoyle, the night is coming...
>>
"I suppose... if you could infuse my form with copper, that could be acceptable.. I have suffered minor discomforts from the Iron and Silver within my body... However it's been of far greater use than a hindrance."

The Woman smiles and nods as she reaches into one of the pockets of her trunk and takes out a few spheres of Copper, clearly too large for the bag.

"How did you do that?" You blurt out your curiosit.
Marble gives you a cheeky smile," A clever little Fae-spell... Pocket. Lets you store things in compressed space. Very useful for storage.." She gets back to work, taking out a few implements and tapping the copper against your form, causing it to stick rather conspicuously. The orbs of Copper slowly seep in and integrate into your form as she gently taps them in and reaffirms it with a little bit of her own magic. Within half an hour, and the woman working up a sweat, you feel the copper, iron, and Silver veins intertwining with each other within your body, however the copper seems to be of a far higher concentration than the small amounts of iron and silver.

"The nice thing about copper is that it's conductive and allows for electrical currents to be channeled through your body much more readily... The common-folk would know of it only as lightning... Anyway, my notes say that Fae magic also conducts through copper very well... I don't have many of the rarer stones and metals such as Titanium, or Obsidian... But I did what I can! I'm going to go and checkinto an inn or tavern in the town... I'll be watching over you for a few days Gargoyle, take good care of yourself!"

The woman swiftly packs up and soon departs just as quickly as she came...

She pops her head back in the church," If you don't mind, I'll be in town for some time. This is the end of my trip, with it being the frontier and all." Her voice is... cheerful... an odd thing among people in this era.

Marble Mason departs, and you feel her life force vanish..
>>
Oh cool.
>>
Time passes and so do the shadows. Afternoon, they grow longer and longer.

You begin to doze off until you hear a familiar voice at around 5 o' clock.

"Hello Mr. Angel!" You turn your attention to a lifeless space before you, and you see the young girl, Molly Smith standing before you.. No life, signature, yet she looks and sounds... very much normal.

"I had wondered where you went... Did the Pastor move you from outside? You were so pretty out there..."

The girl paces back and forth among the pews, sweeping off some dusts.

For a moment, you think yourself mad for considering that Moll had nearly melted you the previous night. Especially with her here now...

What will you do?

It's obviously a demon walking in the day...

>[] Cast spell.
>[] Speak.

>>
>>24773306
We can cast spells during the day?
>>
>>24773306
>[x] Speak
Something about her father loving her and we can make up some bullshit about God looking out for her.

Maybe if we make it beautiful and moving enough we can replace the demon with our pretty words. Doubtful, sure, but maybe.

And I'd like to not get melted again.
>>
>>24773359

Yeah. Can talk and cast spells. Just completely immobile.
>>
>>24773306
christ mason you had me woried there, been waiting hours for this, 18:00 server time indeed

"are you here to mock me, rub salt in my wounds when i can do nothing about it... or are you here to break me?"

damn good to see you none the less
>>
>>24773457

Sorry about that, lost track of time with other things.

Got here as soon as I could!
>>
>>24773419
>we can make up some bullshit about God looking out for her
I would rather leave out that part since she had "there is no god" scrawwled in a torn up bible and she would say where was he when i needed him most, and we know that there is actualy no god via the pastor.
>>
Are you truly yourself once again Molly? With no life beating your heart and soul? Or are you the demon from before, here to taunt me with my failure of protecting you from your woes?
>>
>>24773516
Don't wory about it man, just glad there was a thread at all
>>
With this girl before you, and full knowledge of what she is, you are possessed to speak,"I've seen your father work into the night to support you. He loves you so dearly, you know. . ."

The girl looks up at you with an instant expression of loathing," So it is you. That..." She holds her head as she tries to think of the appropriate word," ...Traitor.. From last night?"

This suprises you somewhat... This is the second time that a demon has referred to you as a friend, as kin. and this one names you traitor.

"I apologize for failing you... If I had known your..."

The girl shrieks," Don't you say sorry now! You traitor! You should've done something! You should have.. you should have spoken to... to me... Why aren't we... Why aren't we friends? I wanted to be friends.." The girl holds her head now, even as your eyes have reverted to the tainted black schlera of her demon-hood.

"Molly... Are you... yourself?" Your voice holds... concern..

The girl looks up at you, her eyes obviously demon, and they were pleading, yet only for a moment. "I... I just want to know why you attacked me. We are friends, we... we smell the same. You smell a little different now.. but we still smell the same."

It crosses your mind, that the Lady of Teeth mentioned you smelling of Fae.. yet she also called you "Demon" This demon, calls you friend, yet whatever she's using to sense you.. she smells your "Fae."

There... may be hope to befriend this demon... The only question is, will you do it?

A faint thought in your head registers a sick satisfaction as it would certainly throw Lady Manse off...

>[] What will you say?
Or
>[] Cast a spell.

>>24773793
My oath is to protect those of this place from those who would bring it harm. I attacked you because you fed off my charges. If you choose to stop I will have no reason to hunt you any longer. I would be glad to call you friend and kin as long as you do so. I do not wish to fail you any longer.

would it be a bad idea to get Cari in on this?
I asume it would just make us an emotional wreck and realy depressed and filled with internal screaming.
>>
"Molly." Your voice resounds in the church.

The girl looks up to you, biting into her lip as she tries to stay focused, and seemingly not to cry.

"My oath is to protect those of this place from those who would bring it harm, do you understand? I attacked you because you fed off my charges, and that I cannot allow. If you choose to stop I will have no reason to hunt you any longer. I would be glad to call you friend and kin as long as you do so. I do not wish to fail you... any longer."

The girl stares at you, breathing heavily as tears begin to stream from her eyes.

"It... It's not fair... why aren't you like me? You smell like me.. I need their life... I need their life to live... I.. I need life..."

The church door swings open, and Pastor Clegane marches into the church with conviction, his feet heavy.

The demon-child turns to the Pastor, and instinctively backs herself against you upon his approach as she looks for an escape route.

"There is no need to fear child." The Pastor speaks gently, despite his gruff and deep voice.
"Like the Angel, I do not desire to fail you any longer."

Unsheathing the same ritual dagger that you had gleaned the first night you learned of the good priest, he exposes one of his arms and its many scars, and sheds his own blood.

"Life is thick within me from years and years of training..." He seems to cut himself off before he finishes that statement.

"I offer you my own life, if it will bring you yours."

The small girl stares at the Pastor's open wound with a sheer hunger.. "I... I hadn't thought of that.." She whispers, stepping up to him, while licking her lips.

The Pastor kneels down, offering his wrist, yet still holding that knife of his, he's staring right at you, a solemn expression.

"Pastor... is there any way to get molly back to her old self, this seems to great a burden for you to bare."

christ i hope hes not going to stab her
>>
(Are we traidng the Pastor's life for Molly? I just realized that might be what he meant.)
>>
>>24774723
If there is a way she can be returned to being as she was before, we should offer to to see her atleast every second night, and her see us wenever she is troubled.
>>
>>24774725

Nah, the Pastor has crazy-huge life force.

Like, Troll-level life-force.

potent witchs' potions and years and years of training...
>>
>>24774813
bit is that what he will do, every night.
how much does she need and how often, can he realy cary that weight and stay active.
>>
"Pastor... is there any way to get molly back to her old self, this seems too great a burden for you to bear."

The Pastor bows his head and closes his eyes,"Alas, the only other method, would be turning her into a Fae."

Molly slowly, and cautiously steps closer to him.. You hear splatters of drool hit the floorboards with ever sluggish step.

"Which is something that may only be done..." Molly doesn't seem to hear him as he speaks to you... "When the taint of demon has not gone too far. In either case, the soul would be neither Fae, nor demon and like to destroy itself without some way to bring about a balance..."

The young girl opens her mouth and bites down into the Pastor's flesh, sucking out blood greedily, you sense the force of life returning to the girl's body.

"And in any case, a demonic soul is an immortal and insatiable thing..."

You see the pastor draw the dagger up to the demon-child's back. . .

In the next moment, the dagger sinks deep into the girl's flesh, steam rising from the wound as she writhes in the powerful man's arms.

"No! You... You betrayed me too Father! I, I just wanted to be friends, why.. Why do you hurt me?"

You would have expected Cari to be screaming internally for the child's suffering, she does not.

'Why do you not cry for her, Cari?'

~Demons are not children.~ She says with a manner of disgust.

The Pastor twists the dagger and the girl convulses in his arms.

He rises and walks toward your pedestal, speaking softly to her.

"We will fail you no longer Molly. You will help the Angel protect the village. I am sorry we could not do more for you.."

The girl drools as weakness overtakes her,"There... is... no God...."

The Pastor sets the girl upon your pedestal, removing the dagger and crossing her hands over her chest. He kisses the dying child's forehead and whispers," There is no God... But there are angels.."

He looks up to you, bows his head and turns around. "Take her."

We did fail her after all.

Have Marble use her for the base of another gargoyle.
>>

This could be arranged.

Technically, the three realms go "Good, Neutral, Evil."
Fae, Primal, and Demon, respectively.
>>

i dont think molly can make them.
>>

Sounds pretty "make a new gargoyle" to me.
>>
>>24775481

I'll allow for this.
>>
>>24775235
I dont want tho throw her into the windigos den, Cari seems to detest her but Alfa and "troll" probably wouldnt care besides the fact that she is not primal.
>>
>>24775539
Sweeeeet.

Anybody else want to change their vote to this?
>>
>>24775571
As long as in doing so we'd have to relinquish all claims to her soul and allow for the new gargoyle to be stationed elsewhere. Wouldn't want to end up with competition or a new minion for our noble mistress...
>>
>>24775571
If we can do another character design for her.

That was fun. I'd like to get som input into Molly's make.
>>
>>24775571
I'm all for a little molly gargoyle... except it wouldnt be Molly anymore, just her esence as a core since we had no memories unless we were made from scratch. but maybe loosing her memories wouldnt be that bad after what shes been through.
>>
>>24775539
Do we know how the pastor would view this decision? Sounds like it could either be considered a mercy (I assume the mind her mind and memory will be erased as part of the process) or consigning her to a worse eternal damnation...
>>
>>24775235
ask the pastor about making her a gargoyle, and tell him of Marble
>>
>>24775682
...I thought gargoyles were only constructed/assigned to a location in response to active threats or requests by the nobility? What I'm saying is gargoyle-ification of Molly will probably put what's left of her on a bus, never to be seen or heard from again.
>>
>>24775571
Only if we could merge her with that fae converted boy (pretty sure that's what we did with him...) from earlier in this quest as part of the process. Not a huge fan of loose ends here.
>>
>>24775848

I'm actually glad that someone caught onto the pastor's words. He's aware of Gargoyles, yet not how they're made.

>>24775682
Given that Matble agrees to it, I'll let you have some input.
>>
>>24775924
Awesome.
>>
>>24775924
Ok, I don't know if I've missed this (likely) but can we safely regurgitatere a specific soul and if so, can we do it without any others trying to stage a prison break? If we dont know this in character feel free not to answer, but it'd make deciding how to vote much easier.
>>
>>24776007

You currently know of no way to regurgitate a soul.

That would likely be a question for Marble.
>>
>>24775924
>I'll let you have some input.
In her creation only or also in her assignment?
>>
>>24776037
Ok. No using our 'stomach' as a holding tank until we can find Marble, then.

Thanks SM.
>>
>>24776039

In creation.

I'm seeing a lot of "For" making Molly into a gargoyle, any opposed?
>>
>>24776156
I'd prefer to keep knowledge of our creation from the pastor, but I'm not going to bother opposing the majority's course of action.
>>
You regard the body, as the new life within it steadily drips out from the dagger wound, her blood covering the pedestal before you.

"Father." You whisper to the Pastor.

He looks at you, his fists clenched so hard, he's breaking skin," What is it? Won't you hurry on and do it?

"I have... an alternative. Seek out the white-haired woman. She came to this village recently..."

The pastor releases his fist and calms slightly, scratching at his beard,"White hair? You mean Marble? That woman has always been here. She is the town's Mason, she checks the foundation of the buildings and ensures the stones are set properly... What could... What..."

You feel as though something is strange... Marble had stated that she had just come here recently... What could it... "Father, if you would find her for me... I require her for something."

Without another questioning word, the Pastor leaves, yet he looks back to your pedestal, regretfully.

Molly looks up to you, still slipping away," Mr... Angel.. Why..."

"Hush now child... I will make it indeed so that we may be friends... Now tell me... Do you like the cold iron your father forges? The beautiful Marble that I am made of... Or do you like the plain stone? Surely you do not want the black of obsidian..."

The Demonic-child stares at you, her eyes go from blank to an almost... understanding.

How will Molly respond?

"Marble, it's so pretty... like you..."

You take the compliment with some stride and promptly move onto the next question for the dying girl, keeping her mind off of her current mortality.

"Marble, yes.. it is quite lovely... It will suit you as well. Child, what form would you take? Surely you would not desire of one between beast and man, perhaps something far more... human... an angel like I? Or perhaps you'd like to be a noble hound, virtuous bird, or another great and mighty animal of the world?"

Not sure how Molly would phrase this but something like "a strong woman... Like my mom before she..."

So, like a strong woman with little devil horns?

A bit weird for a little girl, but I can dig it

I just thought of something. Marble said earlier that she didn't have any obsidian. How would molly have gotten an obsidian body had she picked that?

Could go that her statue looks like an angle at day but a demon at night. although that may cause problems with those who see her.

basically alternate form
>>
>>24777064
Nothing overt, just have the statue seem to give off an aura of dangerous power. Something in the stance, expression, musculature... Not fangs, horns, a tail or leathery wings (not opposed to any of those if the maki it in, but that's not quite wrap hat I was going for), just something about the statue that feels a little inhuman and more than a little dangerous.

Lady Manse is known to collect weird and dangerous things.

Though you are right, Marble claimed not to have any obsidian.

>>
"I... want... to be strong... Like.. mommy... before... she.."

"Hush now child... I understand."

You let her rest, as you still feel life within her. In little more time, Marble comes in through the door with her case, smiling only to drop the case and clasop her hands over her mouth.

"Oh, my... no..." She whispers and then looks to you, tears beginning to well up in her eyes," What.. what is this?"

"Make her into a Gargoyle."

"I- but.. I... I haven't made a gargoyle yet!" She shakes her head, clearly reluctant.

"You will make her into a Gargoyle, or she will die a demon."

Marble stares at you, her tearful eyes slowly softening.

With a nod of her head, she consents," I... I'll do it... but this will be a Gargoyle without a regent... W- Masons make them out of commission you know... We don't often turn just... anyone... into a gargoyle..." She looks away, yet she picks up her bag and approaches your pedestal, opening the thing up and taking out various implenments, all the while.

"Has she told you the material?"

You answer," Marble, she wants to be as beautiful as I."

"My material of choice." She mumbles as she pulls out a column of marble from her case, obviously from a "pocket" space.

"And her form?"

"She wants to be strong... and like her mother, that passed not too long ago. . . Make her strong."

"I'll make her as beautiful as possible, and her strength will be her own doing."

Marble pauses and looks to you,"While I am preparing, I won't be able to establish the Fae aspect within her.. Likely not before she dies. Do you know of any Fae spells?"

>>
>[] Pocket (7 Mana)

Depending on what the effects are. More magic might make her more powerful... and casting Light might be symbolic indeed.
>>
(wiki needs to be updated for Fae stuff, was triyng to find out what the spells we have do.)
>>
>>24777395
Toadstool ring sounds kind of like a smaller version of our fae aspect, so I'll go with that. How much mana do we have by the way? Checking previous threads in the mean time. If we have time and sufficient power I'd like to add pocket to the mix as a second fae spell.
>>
>>24777519
It's in the latest magic tree update of the discussion thread.
>>
>>24777519

Sorry about the wiki, I never had access to it, I did apply though...

Lo- the irony.

Toadstool ring reduces the cost of Fae magic and attracts Fae. It's a long lasting land-type spell.

Faerie Light surrounds a target in a magical radiation that allows you to track a target until its dispelled or the light naturally fades.

Pocket creates a compressed space that allows for easy storage of things. Basically a pocket dimension, however Pocket can not store living things.

It's an option because she literally just needs a cast... whatever other effects it may have...
>>
Honestly integrating Pocket with her might have interesting connotations... gonna vote that.
>>
>>24777614
I can't remember shit about how fae magic works because we never used it before this, but let's go with pocket.
>>
>>24777649

Fae Magic typically bends the rules of reality.

The caveat is that space-bending fae magic won't affect living things.

As fickle and wondrous as the Fae are, they threw in a rule like that for giggles.
>>
>>24777685

Oh, unless it's dimension door. Because living things pass through doors. People don't go into pockets.
>>
>>24777614
Question, do spells housed in the intersection of the fae and primal trees also have their costs reduced by casting toadstool ring? If so voting that, otherwise I'm fine with either toadstool ring or pocket.
>>
>>24777693
When I was a baby I'd sit in my mom's big apron pocket while she was in the kitchen.

Are you saying babies aren't people?
>>
>>24777722
yes
>>
>>24777707

Interesting question.

If Fertile Ground and Toadstool ring are within the same area, the cost is reduced a full half. Otherwise, the full cost is reduced to 75% rounded up. So a 5 mana spell will be 4, 8 mana will be 6. so on.
>>
>>24777693
Huh, kind of surprised both healing and necromancy didn't end up bridging the space between demon and fae in our magic tree. Not complaining, just expected them to end up there.
>>
>>24777778

There's a black spot there for a reason.

I'm seeing two definite Toadstool and 1 pocket.

You tap into your recently acquired knowledge of Fae Magic and infuse the area around your pedestal with energy as Marble continues her preparations, drawing circles and various other arcana that seem somewhat familiar.

Once your spelll is cast, toadstools and flowers spring up around your pedestal, glowing with an unearthly light.

Molly weakly looks at the magical fungus and whispers," Pre...tty.."

Marble brushes her cheek and immediately says," I'm not crying."

She touches Molly's forehead, and closes her eyes as she puts various herbs and grasses upon the child. Finishing by plucking a Toadstool and laying it upon her chest.

"I wish I could do it a bit better, however this will do for stabilizing and drawing out the light of her soul, things will be getting rather ugly shortly..."

Marble begins to chip away at the Marble block before her, rapidly carving it into the form of a large and beautiful, yet unnerving woman. A feminine, yet strong figure, hands clasped together in prayer, plain clothes and even a soft smile of a facial expression comes into effect.

It's womanly, yet strong, and the wings are between Angel and Demon. Long and slender as an angel's, yet with the ridging of a demon, along with claws at the end of the wings.

She finishes the creation in good time, on the spot, and she hefts the statue up, placing it before the girl and scattering salt into a circle with an equilateral Triangle.

"The Fae and Demon Aspects are established. Now we only need to Primal, the old magic for balance... I... don't know any primal spells yet.. it's... the last thing a Mason learns in their training...

"I will offer myself for that." Pastor Clegane announces as he steps into the room. Marble is surprised, embarrassed and nearly breaks out intop tears," I, he, I... I'm not doing anything, anything at all."

Your magic has made this town think you are always here... but I believe the Pastor can be trusted with the secret that you are here. He tolerates my presence after all.
>>
Clegane spits upon her cover up," I am no fool, I've seen through that tripe of Fae magic you cast upon the village. At least be mindful when there are other people of magical background within the town...

Clegane pulls back his sleeve and reopens the wound from earlier," I am versed in the arts of Primal. Before entering this priesthood, I practiced magic in service to both Demons and Primals. My blood is strong, and so is my life and magic. I must offer myself to atone for my failure to this child."

With a well placed cut, he deepens the wound and ignites a point on the Triangle of the circle, The space churns and begins to radiate with life as the demon within the child escapes the body and gathers at another point, as swirling embodiement of foul sin and malice.

From her eyes drifts her light, catalyzed by your Faeries ring. It establishes itself on the last remaining point..

Okay... it's simple... and it's quick... I just hope that this works..

When we talked to the priest about fetching Mason he believed she had been here for a long while.

Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit

I hope 71 is enough.

This is gonna be one ramshackle Molly Gargoyle
>>

Was her inevitable instability ever in question?

The three powers clash upon the marble in the center of the circle, Marble readies tools made of Silver and iron, she advances into the circle and hastily begins to chip away at the errant energies as they attempt to overpower one another.

"This always happens... You always said that the demon and Fae just don't get along, They just want to fight all day long. Bring them in line, and Primal will always just pass its sweet time..."

She applies her tools furiously, balancing out the struggle, and refining features upon the forming Gargoyle itself as the energies attempt to ravage it.

Time passes as Marble keeps up the work, the features becoming far more refined and rivaling yours even as night falls, you feel the movement return to your body.

After much work, The energy finally ends its struggle, and in its place, is a gargoyle that slowly begins to move, looking around curiously.

It speaks out with a disembodied, voice, between god and demon like your own... yet feminine. "I... am... Where... am I? Who..."

Clegane begins to step forward, however Marble speaks to the Gargoyle first," Good evening Gargoyle, tonight is your first night of life. If you would be so kind, I would like you to protect people from now on, okay? We'll give you a name soon enough. Your people will name you."

Something within your own head rings... those words feel so familiar... yet you feel as though you've never actually heard them before... Why?

Pastor Clegane begins to speak up, yet Marble shushes him, and gets close enough to whisper, you can't hear what she says, however she approaches you, even as the newborn gargoyle gently looks at "her" own body.

Close enough so that only you can hear, marble whispers," We cannot say her name. To do so may bring up memories of her life or even make either the demon or Fae within her stronger. It cannot be risked as of now. She is gone."

You... seem to understand this.. it all makes sense to you...
>>
The other Gargoyle looks to you and stares for some time, almost like a child looking to something grand for the first time.

"Are you... an angel? I... didn't think angels were real..."

It's your time to speak...

>[] What will you say?
>>
>>24778519
It breaks our heart, but it must be as she says...
>>
>[] What will you say?
I am called Angel. I wear the name with pride. though I am not one myself. Someone important gave it to me.
>>
>>24778541
Can gargoyles cry? I think sand might be coming out the corners of Angel's eyes.

And now, "You are my friend. The night is young, as are you."

Some other town didn't commission her, so I guess we keep her for now at least. Manse may bitch about it, though...
>>
>>24778541
comment on how she herself looks rathr angelic
>>
>>24778650

No, they just get a little bit of sand in their eyes...
>>
>>24778541
Incline our head both in greeting and affirmation of her question. "So I was named. So I try to live." we should probably make some comments on the basics of being a gargoyle, the dangers of over eating or having our nature exposed to a superstitious public. Also mention that it is, in our experience at least, unusual for multiple gargoyles to be assigned to the same territory, but that we are amenable to the situation and will help her learn the ropes of our trade and support her against overwhelming threats as necessary. Lastly, when we get a moment we should tell Marble that she should consider this a direct commission from us, and though it may take some time we will pay her the required fee for her services.
>>
>>24778695
Well shit's gettin sandy, yo...
>>
>>24778773
Just realized that due to regeneration, Angel can never run out of tears...
>>
>>24778848
We should tell Molly (only calling her that until she gets a new name, not saying to call her that IC) to pick up regen asap. It has saved our pebbles so many times.
>>
>>24778884
Yeah, but we had to eat regenerating souls (the werewolf and troll) to unlock regenerative abilities... And since we seem to have Alpha and the troll playing for team Angel now, suggesting she go out and kill their breatheren doesn't seem like the best thing to do. I'm a fan of spiritual stability though...
>>
>>24778940
Other things regen. We could go hunt down a vampire. Those regen in this setting, yeah?
>>
>>24778953
Dunno. Probably, but I have no idea where they fall on the power scale here. Or whether they have to consume flesh, blood or life force of sentient creatures to regen. I guess we might find out soon though.
>>

>Pocket - store some number of nonliving things in a magically compressed space.

I forgot to ask, do disembodied souls count as non-living and storable in a pocket dimension?
>>
You incline your head forward with a nod in affirmation to her question," I am called Angel. A name I wear with pride, though I am not one myself..." You withhold some of your words...

You begin to explain the basics of being a gargoyle, however Marble promptly shushes you.

"She just came into being, we can go over that once she's better situated."

You concede, however promise that you will teach her well.

Marble nods and smiles," I'm quite sure you will, though this is my first gargoyle.. amazed she's not going crazy and killing people..." Marble laughs nervously, as if that actually happens often...

You reflect upon the knowledge that Gargoyles are commissioned.

"I.. will pay you... consider this a direct commission..."

Marble looks at you a bit strangely, before snickering a bit," Oh, you... so polite.. I... Technically, I should never have done this... I... only chose to because you asked...

She doesn't exist, okay? I didn't make her. I could be hung for this you know... Eh... I'm going to get to cleaning up."

Pastor Clegane approaches her," Allow me to assist you."

You sense life approach as you make idle small-talk with the new Gargoyle, you get a feel out for what she currently knows.. it seems that she knows more than what a human girl would.. likely from some influences in her make...

In time, as Marble and Clegane finish cleaning up the construction mess, you feel a familiar life force at the door.

Alice pokes her head in and her eyes go wide at seeing Marble, Clegane, you, and the new gargoyle.

Her voice squeaks out like a mouse," Wh-what's going on in here?"

You look to her and then to Clegane.

He answers," We were just being introduced to a second defender of this village. She has no name yet, however she seems to be just as gentle as our own Angel."

Alice enters fully and seems a bit wary of the new Gargoyle, that is, until she sees the corpse of Molly still laying on the altar....

(And that's the last post for tonight! I'll be back at about 21:00 tomorrow night, server-time. I know it's a bit late, and the session won't be quite as long.)

>I could be hung for this you know...
>she seems to be just as gentle

Oh this just has all the makings of terrible things happening.

And to think we almost just ate her and gotten a smidge of xp.
>>
>>24779817

Yeah, this took an interesting turn....
>>
>>24779864
You're welcome.

And I'm predicting that Lady Manse will go absolutely batshit with the fan when she finds out.
>>
>>24779896

Hahah... You're funny... You're a funny guy.

She might be walking through that door next.
>>
>>24779945
If she attacks molly we gonna have to choke a bitch.
But that thing you said about Manse having the obsidian makes me think that she won't freak out. If she was set up to provide the obsidian if we'd picked it, she can't really be /that/ mad about a new unsanctioned gargoyle.

Unless you just want to go "lel I'm the QM suck this fan-shaped dick"
>>
>>24780313
Would a fan shaped dick unfold like one?
>>
>>24782371

As funny as that image would be...

>>24780313
It was my oversight on obsidian, or moreso should I say that it's often asked if a Gargoyle wants to be obsidian.

Masons ask such questions to seek the ideal material.

As an aside, should obsidian have been picked, there of course would've been trouble about finding some source...

And then there's what happens when you ask such favors from nobles.

I also kind of figured that you guys wouldn't choose obsidian, especially after the obsidian upon the Stranger's ship, and the example of what an Obsidian Gargoyle tends to be like just over a hill...
>>
Just like how I knew you'd catch onto what the pastor was saying... Congrats, you now know how Gargoyles are made! Though Marble is still an apprentice of sorts...
>>
>>24784393
I thought you have work at this time?
